We believe that nothing brings people together quite like good food. That's why we've dedicated ourselves to creating an authentic Italian dining experience that will transport you straight to the heart of Italy. Priding itself on utilising only the freshest of ingredients, showcasing the natural flavours of the seasons through generational cooking methods with an edge.
This would have to be one of my favourite dining experiences this year. Made in Casa is understated and appears quaint. However, the food is amazing. The whole experience was excellent and as a local, I will certainly be back.
I have not left a review at a restaurant for a long time …. After having recently dined at Society, Reine and la Rue and Gimlet etc…. I finally have a reason to make time to write a review and congratulate the wonderful restaurant MADE IN CASA 👏👏👏 It’s so beautiful inside, well thought out with a great menu and excellent desserts I’ll be back for sure 👍 THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL EVENING
Love the ambience. The place is so welcoming. I felt at home since the first minute I walked in. The food is amazing and truly ITALIAN. The service is very friendly and attentive. I would recommend this place to everyone who love Italian food and Italian atmosphere.
Best pizza and a real & authentic Italian experience. The owners are incredibly welcoming, the whole staff knows what they are doing and they are all Italian, which contribute to the best experience. Quality of the produce it’s outstanding, surprisingly extensive the wine menu! A must try worth the trip!
Have visited this place a few times and it has been perfection every time! Easily my favourite Italian restaurant in Melbourne! Has such a cozy inviting vibe, friendly staff and service that goes above and beyond to meet your needs. We were provided with a complimentary entree, and manager even made us carbonara (which is superb by the way) even though it was not part of the seasonal menu the second time we came. I will keep visiting this restaurant and will continue to tell others of my positive experience! Thankyou 😃 🍝
The perfect Italian dining experience. The restaurant has a very cosy and homely feeling. The wood fire oven is striking as you walk in. The service is polite and professional. Ordered the diavola pizza which was one of the best pizzas I have ever had. The crust was delicious and crisp while being soft and fluffy on the inside. The salami used was of the highest quality and the cheese was amazingly creamy and delicate. The gnocchi was also delicious with a melt in your mouth texture. I really appreciated the complimentary bread and butter. Dipping that pizza crust into the butter was just heavenly!! Will definately return and worth the trip!!
Lovely beautiful place, staff was really good friendly. Food was the issue, it close but hate to say it a bit of a miss, could not taste some of the strong natural Italian flavours and really needed seasoning. Tomatoes said they were Sam Marzano but not the San Marzano i am used to, Reggiano lacked bite, the dough was really good and cooked well which made up for it. They were busy so maybe I am too picky, sorry it's a once only visit. Would not discourage anyone from going to try, if you do have the carbonara that was a standout
Wonderful owners and hosts of this new italian restaurant make a meal here quite enjoyable. The service was a little slow. However, I think it was due to the night being an unusually busy Tuesday, and not enough staff were rostered on. We were seated in the upstairs room at the front of the restaurant and it was rather cold. The food is all very nicely presented and tasty. However, like many restaurants these days, the serving sizes were not commensurate with the prices they charged. The tiramisu had very little coffee, which was fine with me but if you're looking for a strong flavour then I'd suggest ordering a coffee on the side. Pasta dishes were particularly small serving sizes and the side salad of rocket and pear for $16 was very overpriced. If hungry, I'd recommend ordering a pizza and skipping the pasta. Also, be sure to order a few bowls of chips to fill up. The restaurant has been nicely decorated. The entrees of the arancini and mixed seafood were tasty. Had a nice evening but went home hungry.
were from interstate, and I must say that was the best pasta that Ive ever eaten in my life! Great service too!!!
We had a fantastic meal at Made in Casa. Authentic Italian cooking and vibe.
Expected decent Italian food, got cold undercooked risotto. It was literally inedible. Overpriced & undercooked. Ill stick to Topolinos for good Italian.
Best Italian restaurant in Melbourne Really recommended Food
Authentic Italian cuisine, excellent negroni, well-leavened and delicious pizza
New favourite Pizza place!
. Pasta with clams total disappointing. Cloying pasta in minimal broth that had little resemblance to clam/seafood flavour. Chunky tough to eat cod was a labour to eat. Fettuccine was under/cooked with bits of pasta tasting like grit. Had to send back to kitchen. . Excellent pizza saved the night bolstered by a good red Italian. But overall the dinner was a disappointment to all. Excellent and charming service. Let down by their kitchen. Unlikely we will return
Kind of boring. No stand outs. Didnt love the food but nothing inherently wrong.
An amazing place with welcoming ambience and amazing food. Our waitress was so involved and attentive and the food was outstanding. We had a pizza, bucatini allamatriciana, cannoli and tiramisu and everything was delightful. A great place for a date night! Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options across the menu Dietary restrictions: Very attentive to a peanut allergy warning, including checking allergy information for the tiramisu biscuits.
I celebrate my birthday there with my partner and friends, the restaurant looks amazing and the food is even better. The service from Valerio a annapaola was outstanding. I will be back soon Food : 5/5
Best pizza even at home
Great place, great food!
Obsessed, the best pizza in Melbourne!
Best pizza in Melbourne
A delightful and delicious journey from beginning to end. A beautiful Italian family who are passionate, and truly care about your food experience. My daughter and I went there on a date night together, we are so happy that we found this incredible little peace of Italian heaven. The fritto misto was incredible! The best wood fired pizzas in Melbourne, the pasta sauce incredible and all made with love - grazie we will be back soon.
We had the Bucatini Amatriciana, Pasta Vongole, Patate Viola pizza and Rocket salad for 2 adults and a 4-year old. The Amatriciana sauce had a hint of sweetness from the tomatoes and perfectly counterbalanced the fat from the guanciale. Such a simple yet delicious dish. The vongole was good but not particularly memorable. Overall, both pasta dishes were fresh and had the perfect bite. The pizza was personally my favourite. The dough had the right chew to it and the crispy leek was imo the perfect touch! We over ordered and took home a few slices and they were still very good the next day! Loved the ambience - the fireplace, candles and decorations gave it a very homely and cozy vibe. Staff were also friendly and accommodating with our 4 year old. Will be back again!
This place has some of the best Italian Ive tasted. Well done on beautiful food. Decor lovely and warm. But sorry thats where it stops. Squeezey little restaurant, to the point it is uncomfortable and non enjoyable. Service was abrupt and had no feel to match the food. Has the passion been lost? Or the care factor gone due to its high reputation? To me it doesnt matter. Food is a holistic experience. Its to be exciting and fun. Warm and relaxed. Again its just my opinion. I dont enjoy being cramped and unable to move. When Im polite and smile at a waiter. I dont want to be dulled and sad due to a unfriendly encounter. Loved your food, wine and the company I was with. But the rest remained average at best.
I recently visited this restaurant after following the owners on social media for quite some time and had very high expectations, especially for the pizza, given the pizza makers many accolades. Unfortunately, I found the pizza to be well below mediocre. While I understand that the owners are currently overseas, they need to ensure their restaurant is well-maintained in their absence. The service was also disappointing; it took at least twenty minutes for our plates to be cleared after we finished eating, which I found extremely concerning.
The best pizza ever, research upon research to make a unique dough. Super ingredients. Not to mention the pasta and all the starters, incredible!! It really feels like being at home in Italy. Cozy place and everyone is super friendly. A place to absolutely recommend. Vote 10
Very disappointing. The:spinach/silver beet green soup had a delicious flavour but it arrived tepid to the table in a small bowl that cost $28. Gluten free bread was requested & regular bread was served. The pizza had a ricotta base with meatballs. The several meatballs were the size of a pea, dried out & tasteless. All in all a hugely underwhelming night. I will not be returning.
Waiters non attentive. Food poor. Overpriced. Chaotic service. Amateurs.
Lovely staff and delicious food!!
Charming restaurant, you can see the love and passion behind every dish. Top pizza and pasta Super friendly staff! We will return soon
Service terribly slow. Asked 3 times for sparkling water as well as salt. No attention to client once food was on the table. Waited more than 30min to clear the plates from the table. At this point renounced the desert. Spaghetti with clams no taste at all very dry. Just simply added clams to pasta with bit of paisley sprinkled on top. Would have tasted differently if were to be passed in the pan with clams & oil. Very disappointing.
Disappointing food in a pleasant environment with good service. Given the meal wasnt cheap and the food was very average, I wont be returning
A very enjoyable dinner, food, service and atmosphere was all excellent. Thank you
We celebrated our daughter s Confirmation here for Sunday lunch. Everything was just beautiful from the homely feeling of the dining room, wonderful service and the authentic Italian food and great cocktail/wine menu. We couldn t fault anything! Grazie mille!
Cant recommend this place highly enough! Everything was wonderful. The ambience makes you feel youre in the family dining room. The staff are all Italian and charming and the food excellent. Well come again Food
Perfection . My family and I had a very pleasant experience tonight. The staff are all very friendly and speak italian to customers which I absoloutly loved! The food was 10/10 . Ive been following Vallerio around for a while now and Im glad to see his passion in this place. The food is to die for, the pizza was perfecto, the risotto was bang on. The atmosphere is pleasant, I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Keep up the good work
Andrea T was an amazing waiter and treated us with full respect!
Excellent authentically Italian food, lovely ambience and exceptionally friendly service
Discovered by chance probably the best pizza and home made pasta in Melbourne (I am Italian, I know what I m talking about :-). Valerio, the owner, and his wife will go the extra mile to satisfy your needs and offer you an excellent service. I couldn t recommend it more!!!
Divine service, gorgeous venue visually, delicious food!
Lovely authentic Italian food. The Diavola pizza is my favourite
Great restaurant and great service with authentic Italian cuisine.
Fabulous.
Best. Pizza. In. Melbourne. Suppli was great too! Food
First time there after Assagi Italiani closed. We ordered 1 pasta, 1 pizza, half a bottle of moscato and 1 tiramisu. $160 plus $15 for service fee and 10% weekend surcharge. You got to be kidding me. These Italians think money comes from trees here in Australia or what?. The pasta literally came with 5 ravioli. 1 was frozen. The pizza was not even cut and falling apart without cheese and without flavour. I was really surprised the size of the plates were they were bringing the pasta as not even in fine dinning they serve you that minimally. Service was terrible, they didn t offer specials and one waitress tried to take the plate out of the table while i was cutting the last piece of pizza. Ridiculous. I literally feel robbed. 15% surcharge for weekend is just a ripoff. Certainly first and last time going there. Thats very disappointing as Assagi Italani wasn t cheap but at least the portions were very big and the quality was amazing. Seriously save your money and go and get a perfume for your partner. Not worth a penny what we paid for what we got. Never again.
Overall an average night. Food was nice but I wouldn t rave about it. My husband and I came for a night away from parenting and We pretty much got kicked out after an hour and 15 min. Never told from the start they needed the table. Being told they need the table after they gave us the dessert menu and never came to take our order. The woman stood and waited for us to collect our things so she could escort us to the till. Paid $5 for a can of coke that came in a can, a glass with no ice and can t even have it be poured upon delivering to the table. Tortellini was like warm and only had a few in the bowl of oil it came in. Bread was given, literally 1 slice from a baguette that was halved, the butter had a really bad fishy taste to it. Didn t see the point in giving the bread. Again average experience and wouldn t be back.
We didnt photograph the pizza, we ate it as soon as it arrived!
During a stay in Melbourne I had the pleasure of going to dinner with Valerio and Annapaola; they made me feel at home; excellent service with Andrea; I recommend Saltimbocca alla Romana which is an exceptional pizza. Congratulations to all the staff Highly recommended
What a great experience at Made in Casa love the decor you think that you are in a English Colonial house nicely done with white table cloth we started with the fritto misto and I really wanted a pizza let me tell you this was one of the best pizza I have had in Australia Giovanni the pizza chef cooked to perfection nice and crispy the tomato sauce was amazing and the mozzarella Valerio made the night very accommodating we will be back for more thank you
Had a delicious meal here. All our pasta and pizza was authentic and tasty. Definitely recommend
We had dinner there tonight for my girlfriend s bday and it was absolutely amazing! One of the best Italian joints in Melbourne and such a homely and cosy spot. From the menu to the ambience in the room, it truly was something special. Our waiter (we forgot to get his name, but he was a young Italian man) was really really exceptional. We loved his charisma and his overall attitude. Keep it going - great stuff!
Loved this place! Their pizza and arancini was Going back to try other pizza and dishes! The restaurant also has thoughtful touches and decorations everywhere providing a very nice ambience.
Seriously the best Italian food I ve had outside of Italy!!! Service was also amazing would recommend to everyone!
We had an incredible dining experience at Made in Casa, one of the best Italian restaurants in Melbourne. The crochette Di patate with mortadella was a delightful start, and the carbonara and vongole pastas were bursting with flavor. The cannoli was a perfect ending to a fantastic meal. Annas friendliness and warmth added to the overall welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend!
Walking past we saw that this spot had a fresh look and a new name. We rolled the dice and gave it a go. Food was incredible and service was great. Italian is my favourite, I d put MIC in my top 5. I ll be back! Please stay this good!
I have never tasted such good Italian food in Australia. The service, the food, the ambience. Ill constantly come back. My taste buds exploded with joy with every dish!
Thanks Valerio and Annapaola! Beautiful ambience, food and service!
Absolutely beautiful experience! Incredible service from friendly and passionate staff. It felt like I was eating at Nonna s house! Hosts Valerio and Anna are such a delight! The food was absolutely incredible (Thank you Trombetta). I highly recommend this stunning restaurant to anyone looking for a special and authentic Italian experience.
Love this place, great food, great hosts. Authentic and delicious. Grazie guys!
Wonderful dinner, food fantastic and gluten free options, great vibe and friendly staff. Would come back again!
Amazing hosts and food!!
Fantastic, delicious food, service was outstanding. The whole family are so friendly and helpful. Thanks for a beautiful evening. Anna Naimoo
Incredible atmosphere, customer service, and food. What a delightful slice of Italy in Melbourne s east side. The vegetarian options were soooooo delicious! Family-owned so you can really feel the love and passion they have for their food, eachother, and the people that walk in their doors. Can t recommend highly enough.
Amazing true Italian food. Cant wait to go back!
If youre looking for an incredible Italian dining experience, look no further than this amazing restaurant! From the moment you step inside, youll be blown away by the attention to detail that goes into every aspect of this restaurant. The decor is beautiful and elegant, with just the right amount of charm and character to create a truly unique ambiance. But what really sets this place apart is the food. Every dish is made with love, and it shows in every bite. The flavors are rich and complex, try one of their special pizzas, you wont be disappointed. To make it even better, Annapaola makes fresh pasta, which is absolutely delicious and adds an extra special touch to the meal. Annapaola and Valerio are incredibly welcoming and friendly, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in the door. They are passionate about what they do, and it shows in every aspect of their restaurant. Overall, I cant recommend this restaurant enough. I will most certainly be back soon!
This is the best Italian restaurant look like really Italy good food nice atmosphere and friendly people
Absolutely loved this place!! Amazing food, service and atmosphere
AMAZING home made quality food. Gorgeous staff. You can see their life and soul into every aspect of the restaurant. Definitely be back
Love the decor and ambience of the place. Hosts are lovely and entertaining as well. food was awesome pasta and pizza top notch. A must go for everyone who enjoys Italian food.
I absolutely recommend this gem to anyone looking for some authentic Italian food! The special Pizzas are all amazing and the pasta is just incredible. The carbonara was definitely our favourite but the agnolotti and cappellacci were also delicious. The crocchetta alla gricia entree is so incredibly tasty. Wine list is quite extensive and obviously include a lot of our favourite Italian wines. Presentation was impeccable and the restaurant s decoration is something else I ve honestly never seen a place like this before, here in Australia . The attention to details is remarkable. You can tell lots of love and passion have been put into this place, well done!!
Beautiful restaurant, lovely hosts. Food was to die for. Decor reminded us of our Nonna. An authentic Italian experience in a very warm and homely atmosphere. We are looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend.
Absolutely gorgeous restaurant & food was outstanding. The owners energy are next level & for a second I forgot I was in Melbourne. Felt like I was in Italy again. Highly recommend
Wow. What can I say... italian home made pizza, italian pasta. Great choice of wine.Great experience. Everithing PERFECT. I will be there again. Of course For all Italians looking for new culinary experiences, I recommend it. Seriously.
We had a perfect Italian dinner. The decor and hospitality are unique from the moment you step in. Valerio, Annapaola and the entire team welcome you to what feels like their beautiful home, where wonderful dishes are carefully put together. The rucola and pears were incredibly fresh and a great start. Two portions of Suppli bolognese started a war as to who will have the last bite. The pasta, ricotta & spinach filled cappelacci in burnt butter and sage, was so good, we ordered a second dish. And the pizzas - Margherita, Diavola & Gricia - mamma mia. Best weve ever had. Indescribable dough, light and full of flavor. Every ingredient perfectly suited to its counterparts. Finished with Annapaolas tiramisu. In fact, two (again, after finishing the first one and feeling not quite ready to say good bye). For the adults, great Italian white wines to accompany. Throughout the meal, Valerio found the time to see all was alright, and goof around with my boy. Annapaola asked if we needed anything, and made a compliment to my daughter that put a smile hard to erase on her face. If top notch food in a homey but carefully put together setting while being hosted as if you were at dear friends home sounds good - go to Made In Casa. We cant wait for our next time.
What can I say about this restaurant? From when you walk in it has a homely, comforting vibe. Then theres the food. Oh my goodness. The pasta dishes we ate were tremendous. Cooked al dente, with deliciousness in every bite. As for the pizza, I will be dreaming about it until I go back next time. The dough was light and full of flavour, the toppings were perfectly balanced. The staff were just as wonderful as the food as well. This is the kind of restaurant I could go back to again and again and again. I love it. 10 out of 5 stars!
Congratulations Valerio and Annapaolo on your first venture which surely wont be your last! Walk through the doors of Made in Casa and you are transported to Italy, the decor, music and friendly Italian staff. Hands down one of the best Italian restaurants in Melbourne, the Napolitana pizza is up there with the best not only in Melbourne anywhere in the world.
Such a great restaurant to have in our local area, the staff were very friendly and the food was amazing, highly recommend if you are looking for authentic Italian food
The best pizza and pasta in Melbourne! A must try.... Authentic Italian experience!
WOW. What an incredible meal. Wonderful owners/hosts. Food was amazing. Fresh and delicious. Great service. This is definitely going to be a regular.
Very hard to impress me with Italian food because of my upbringing, but these guys have nailed it & the pizza s, absolutely best going around. Wish the family all the success that hard work brings . Regards Anthony
Amazing food & service - a great authentic experience.
Wow what a find! Fantastic regional takes on classic pasta flavours. Such a beautiful vibe and authentic friendly family atmosphere. Took me back to my last trip to Italy. Thank you Made in Casa
Terrific new restaurant. Love the decor and food. Hope it continues to succeed because its a great place.
Absolutely love this place, from food, to atmosphere, people, interior design. Italy is in Melbourne and that s Made in Casa
Just joyful. Cosy, delicious and exquisite. Service is sublime and the food is heaven. Best Italian food in Melbourne. So much love and passion in the food.
Honestly, the most amazing Italian food Ive ever eaten. Its like youre in Italy. SO AUTHENTIC. My daughter said it was the best pizza shes ever had and I am SO excited to get back. Big love and thanks from a big foodie!
Totally enjoyed the evening here. Food was outstanding and the wine recommendation was surprisingly brilliant. We will be back as soon as we can. Vegetarian options: Lots of options and they offered to remove meat from one of the options as well
When you enter Made in Casa, you immediately get this cozy atmosphere that is complimented by the warm reception from the hosts. The food is really, really good and was not surprised that it was fully booked that day. My son, who is a very picky 10 year old, loved every bite of his meal. Were planning to come back and try more of the menu. This place is wonderful.
We had very high expectations after reading the reviews. As our first time in we will give them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe we picked the wrong night. They were pretty busy and probably couldnt cope as we waited like 30 minutes to get our starter. Tagliere salumi was average, no presentation whatsoever and the portion in my opinion was scarce. Agnolotti del plin with butter and sage and roast sauce reduction. Very weak roast sauce, for 39$ the final result should be better. Pizzas were the winner of the night. About the service, there was not much interaction with the waiters. No eye contact at all to see if we needed maybe some more water or something else to drink or maybe even a dessert after dinner. We will probably come back and give it another shot.
Amazing experience and amazing pizzas (and gnocchi). Highly recommendable ! Food
What of an hidden pearl Made in Casa! Fire place and the paints at the wall made the perfect atmosphere. The food is outstanding!! Strozzapreti alla Carbonara, Ravioli del Plin and wood fire pizza!! If you haven t been you must! Valerio and Annapaola well done!! Food
First time and we fell in love!! This is proper Italian cuisine at its finest! Ingredients are fresh and tasty! Cannot wait for another sitting! 11/10
Amazing pizza try the Mortadella! Can t wait to come back.
This is a really lovely place where you can find that real classic Italian homey atmosphere. We were a group of 6 so we managed to try a bit of everything which is something I love to do when I try new places. The crocchetta with mortadella was my favourite entree: crispy on the outside, soft in the inside and filled of explosive flavours! We also shared the gamberi pizza for entree and I absolutely loved it! I usually don t like fish pizza so believe me when I say this was really next level! The ingredients just perfectly balanced each other in a delicate and delicious way. For main I had the agnolotti which are a special type of filled pasta served in a roast sauce reduction that is sensational! I highly recommend to try both the pizza and the agnolotti and find out what real Italian food is. Being Italian myself I am very picky about Italian restaurants, and this is one of the few where I have enjoyed every single dish and I will want to go back to try more. The service is professional but friendly, the details are beautifully placed around the restaurant and there is a general warmth in this place that fills the air.
Genuinely authentic Italian cuisine and fantastic service. Highly recommended.
Went here on a group booking. Food was quite good but pricey. The server said that there would be a set menu due to being a large group which wasnt told to me before/on the website. I asked what this meant, but the explanation was quite vague there is no printed set menu. In the end, after waiting a while for the server to come back between drinks etc, they made us choose our own mains and entrees without us really asking for it to be different from a set menu, so all in all just confusion for no reason? I still dont really understand what happened. Service was on the slow end too.
Every mouthful was delicious! Pasta and pizza was light, not heavy - best Italian cuisine Ive had to date!
Amazing experience, beautiful service and food. Grazie guys
Amazing, our new local Malvern favourite
My dining experience was brilliant and welcoming at made in casa, Everything was at a high standard and the food was delicious not to mention presented very well, i will return as soon as possible
Beautiful traditional Italian restaurant with delicious gluten free pizza and gnocchi. Will definitely be back!
Its just like being in Italy, incredible pizza so light and fluffy and some very creative toppings along with traditional favourites. Easily one of the top 3 pizza in Melbourne. Bravo
Excellent service. Valerio and staff make you feel at home. This is also the best pizza in Melbourne. The effort put into the proving process is unrivalled.
10/10 experience!
Very authentic Italian home style hospitality! Everything was spot on! Will definitely be back again. Food : 5/5
Our experience at Made in Casa was just great. The food was sensational with authentic flavours of Italian cuisine. In fact the flavours were very different from most Italian restaurants. This one is one to dine in and expect something different and good. We tried Gnocchi alla Sorrentina, Pizza patate viola , Cuoppo di fritti and the Pasta of the day . The staff were attentive and friendly. At the back there is a cozy spot close to the fireplace and a little more quiet. The front of the shop has street views and the wood fired oven for pizzas. Gnocchi was served in a pizza bowl on a dish and the kids loved it. Definitely one to go back again.
This is the best Ive honestly had, amazing pizza and beautiful pasta. You can tell everything was made with a fine attention to detail. bravo
I have read the many excellent reviews of this restaurant but unfortunately was very disappointed with our experience tonight (Saturday). The service and atmosphere cannot be faulted ... however, our food order left much to be desired. For $38* (plus 10%), I would have expected a few more vongole and a bit more pasta in my serving. And for $38* (plus 10%), my husbands special cannelloni dish was mostly mushy (bearing no resemblance to cannelloni) and was smothered in a ton of bechamel sauce. *And I have never come across another restaurant that adds 10% surcharge all weekend ... perhaps on a Sunday or public holiday ... but all weekend??? On a positive note, the rocket salad was delicious and the glass of wine enjoyable.
Valerio, Annapaola and the team at Made in casa made our dinner experience fantastica, the food is amazing, incredible. The atmosphere is soo Italian and very welcoming, the service impeccable. We will be back for more, for sure . Grazie mille ragazzi, ci siamo sentiti a casa
This experience was sensational! A stand out in the Eastern suburbs, even better than some of the newer restaurants in the area...the pizza was outstanding! Do yourself a favour and book
Real Italian migrants making real Italian food, and succeeding. The pizza is underrated in this place Food
Came here without a reservation and the restaurant appeared to be at full capacity. Luckily they also have a dining area upstairs with plenty of seats. Ordered several antipasti and two pizza to share. Really enjoyed the potato croquettes and fried rice ball (suppli). Crumbed coating was on point and there were a lot of flavours going on which worked well. Fried seafood had a thin light batter where you still get that slight crisp but portion was quite less for the price. The woodfire pizza had a big puffy crust and a very thin base. Mainly ate the bufalina which was delicious but would have liked a bit more buffalo mozzarella. The pizza dough was very good with a nice chew to it and it doesnt turn tough even after taking my time to eat. However as good as the pizza dough was, there was simply too much of it relative to the amount of toppings. Service was good and food was served in a timely manner.
We were a party 5 for a surprise birthday, and we are all vego or vegan. We all loved our meals.
Had a lovely experience at this great family-owned italian restaurant. Lovely atmosphere and the food was freshly made and tasted exceptional. A bonus was being able to see the owner make the pizzas at the front. Staff were very friendly and would highly recommend to others
The TRUE Italian flavor
Pasta was served warm which was disappointing, and are a little expensive for what is provided
Glad I have discovered this neighbourhood Italian. Very good food with authentic service. Have had pizza take away but dined in this time. Next time I d prefer a table in the main restaurant as I felt a bit disconnected upstairs which was very quiet but it was just a quick meal so it was fine this time.
Best restaurant in Australia!
Absolutely beautiful. 11/10! Food was absolutely delicious, perfect . The gnocchi was the best we ve ever had . Service impeccable, Pizza wow! Ambience , so romantic . My partner and I will be back regularly . Thank you so much , Johnny and Anna
The search is over. We have been looking for a fabulous family Italian restaurant we can go to regularly and now we have found it. Great food, service and atmosphere. We will be back.
First time I came to Made in casa. My family and I are Italian and it s hard to find a nice, authentic Italian restaurant. The place gives vintage house vibes, with authentic and particular food. The staff was so friendly and I would 100% come back to try new things. Thank you everyone :) -Rebecca
Pizza is outstanding and even better taken home. Pasta is delicate and full flavour. Its a touch expensive but you pay for great ingredients. Second time there, wish I ordered another pizza to take home.
Without a doubt the best Italian food you can get ! The staff were amazing , the decor makes you feel at home and the food was amazing Makes you feel like your in Italy! Will be frequently coming back !
Pizza not hot spaghetti Vongole lukewarm very average all our meals will not be going back
The dining room is nice and cozy. Everything is delicious. Personally I prefer their pizza over the pasta which was a bit too al dente for me.
Italian atmosphere , have made pasta, pizza amazing, really enjoyed! Vegetarian options: Ghochi Food : 5/5 |
Excellent service and delicious food. Vegetarian options: Very good. Kid-friendliness: Excellent
Authentic beautiful food. A must visit. If this is your local you are lucky.
What an experience. From the decor, the service and the food! I cant speak higher of this place. You walk in and get warmly greeted by the owner/pizzamaker Valerio with the woodfire oven staring directly at your face so watch him work his magic. The gorgeous international waiters are so accommodating and friendly, explained the entire menu if need be. The food was out of this world, we all left rolling out of the place. This restaurant has only been open since March 2023, and they are doing an absolutely amazing job. From a restaurant owner myself, you can see the love and dedication that goes into everything Valerio and Annapaola have done. Brilliant job guys, Im sending absolutely everybody I know down your way. Everyone needs to support this brilliant establishment. Thanks for having us. All our love from Pizzeria Adamo in Geelong
Had my sons birthday here in one of the private dining rooms. Staff were polite and attentive. The food was amazing!! Would highly recommend. Thank you !
I am so glad to have this special restaurant just walking distance from my place. Pizza is heaven, so light but still tasteful. Same as the pastas, which are fresh and full of flavours! The place is so pretty, reminding me of my grandma place back in Italy. Can not recommend enough/
I had the pleasure of dining at Made in Casa, thanks to my friends Annapaola and Valerio, and it was a fantastic experience. The antipasto, especially the beef tartare, was exquisite, and the pizzas for our main course were divine. The tiramisu was the perfect sweet ending to our meal, and the gewurztraminer wine added a delightful touch to the evening. The warm and welcoming atmosphere created by Annapaola and Valerio made the dinner even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Made in Casa for a memorable dining experience!
I ve been twice and had two different dishes. Would I order them again? No Spaghetti vongole was just warm and not tasty. Carbonara pasta was too firm and sauce was ok. Nice place but food needs more work Food
Went there tonight and I absolutely loved the thought put into the interior design, from the custom menus to the charming stitched table signs. And let me tell you, the brick oven as you enter the restaurant adds a beautiful touch. The ambiance was spot on! I was a little worried that nice looks might mean mediocre food, but boy was I wrong. Everything I had, from the Agnolotti Del Plin in Salsa DArrosto to the cappellacci al burro bruciato e salvia, patate viola, and gricia, was incredibly delicious. You know whats funny? I never even realized the del plin had rabbit in it because it was just that good, and normally Im not a fan of rabbit. So, I highly recommend giving this place a shot for dinner. Trust me, Im already itching to try out the rest of their menu options. Cant wait Kid-friendliness: Easy pizza and butter pasta
Excellent pizza
Food is expensive. The place is busy. Staff are in general pleasant but asked us to leave early as they wanted the table for the new clients. My wife who is allergic to gluten (not celiac), with all fuss and checking of meals, was actually served some meal which must have included gluten, as she had allergic reaction after leaving the restaurant. Fortunately, this time it did not end in full anaphylaxis and hospital visit was avoided. If you have GF sensitivity avoid this place at all cost! Dietary restrictions: Beware if you are GF sensitive, either chef or waiters are not careful in serving food.
I attended an event here recently however despite telling three wait staff that I had a nut allergy, they proceeded to serve multiple nut dishes without any communication about which dishes to avoid. In fact, I was reassured there was no nuts on the pizzas. Unfortunately my night ended early after eating a cheese pizza with ground walnut on top. Fortunately I was able to get medical care urgently. I suggest not eating at this restaurant if you have any dietary requirements at all as they are completely untrained in how to communicate allergens or cater appropriately. Dietary restrictions: Zero ability to cater for dietary restrictions.
Traditional Neapolitan food at its finest, with a little touch of modern added for good measure! Wonderful staff providing diners with true, warm and fun Italian hospitality. A beautiful husband and wife team working hard alongside all the staff and taking care of diners. Traditional Neapolitan woodfire Pizza (The best), handmade pasta and traditional Neapolitan seafood dishes tasted very very authentic, Ragazzi Tropp buon! Vegetarian options: Vegetarian pizza, pasta and other entrees and mains Parking: Plenty of parking on Glenferrie rd and paid parking in Malvern central.
Lovely neighbourhood Italian with great Italian classics and lovely service
I was looking forward to dining at Made in Casa but was very disappointed as the Cappelacci al Burro Bruciato was served with the wrong sauce. Instead of the burnt butter sauce it had a roast sauce reduction which (after some later investigation) is the sauce of the Agnolotti. I did eat it all thinking that perhaps the flavors would develop as I ate but it just wasn t nice. Staff were lovely but not overly concerned when I brought this to their attention, they suggested that I must have had the Agnolotti even though the waiter confirmed that this was not the case. I love a good pasta but unfortunately didn t find one here.
