Great set menu of turkish food. The only thing was the meat dishes had no seasoning . But the night was great.

Take out. Ready within 5 minutes of booked time. Well done. Ask for total order price when phoning the order. There is a level of translation that means the order might be more than you expected. Its happened twice. Ive worked out how to combat this next time. Ill ask for the total price of order.

The restaurant is tiny, we went there at dinner time on a weekday and it was fully packed. Despite the busyness the service was fairly fast, the portions huge and taste just what you d expect. Beautiful delicious food, and very friendly staff. If you go with a group, better to make a reservation beforehand. Thank you for the experience, we ll be back!

Food and table service was wonderful. However, after our main meal, we ordered desert. Just before desert was ready we were asked to get up from the table we were sitting at to allow other people to use it. We were told we could sit outside on the footpath with a heater above us. We all refused and were disgusted that a waitress even asked us to leave our table, whilst we were still dining in and waiting for our desert. We were then told we could sit out the back. Absolutely disgraceful, so we told them they could shove their desert, paid for our dinner and left. We definitely will never go back there, and don t care how good the food was, their request was most unprofessional and certainly not a good business decision. There was a table next to us celebrating a birthday, it had approximately 12 people on it. They too were asked to leave by 7.30pm, and had not completely eaten all their food.

Hot chocolate was delicious. Kunefe was amazing. The staff were very kind. I would really recommend this restaurant for everyone.

The food was excellent but the service was abysmal. No welcome, slow to take our orders, no follow-up service when there was no water on the table and all of us had long finished our drinks. No one cared at all; we had to ask for everything including the desert menu. This was our first time here and sadly it will be our last.

Ive visited this restaurant many times and have tried various dishes from their menu. Some of my favorites are the Iskender Kebab, i Yo urtlu, Torshi, Baba Ghanoush, and Kenafeh. Each dish is flavorful and well-prepared. The Iskender Kebab, with its tender meat and rich tomato sauce, is a standout. I recommend ordering it with the bread. The i Yo urtlu offers delicious marinated tikka kebab with tomato sauce, vegetables, salad and rice. The Torshi is my favorite, a selection of pickled vegetables. The Baba Ghanoush and bread is an excellent starter. For dessert, the Kenafeh or baklava and Turkish coffee is a must-try. They usually serve Kenafeh with pistachios and ice cream, which is great. I don t recommend the kofta and Dolma; they were a bit tasteless for me. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, creating a warm atmosphere. However, during busy times, the service can be slower than usual. This is understandable given the high volume of customers, but its something to keep in mind if you visit during peak hours. Overall, the quality of the food and the pleasant environment make this restaurant a great choice for a satisfying dining experience. I highly recommend this place for both casual meals and special occasions.

Local place I frequently visit. Very friendly family run restaurant that is very well established over the years with excellent service and great food. Prices are whats expected. If youre looking for that nice Turkish meal and outing, Nicosia is well worth a visit. Book ahead as they can be quite busy.

Always outstanding. Lamb sis is succulent with lovely caramelized surface. Rice and vegetables come in a generous serve with sweet, tangy tomato. The baklava was enormous- enough for two. Nicosia has been getting it right for at least 25 years- and seem to be improving. Brilliant spot.

We came to Nicosia at 9 pm without reservation on Tuesday night and they have accommodated us so well. Grateful we had somewhere to go last minute! Ordered food for delivery. One of the dishes had a hair in it. Called to complain, the woman was EXTREMELY rude and couldn t care less. She told me to email my complaint, which I did and sent a photo, and still a month later, no response. Mediocre food too. We will never order from there again. This has to be the rudest bunch of people we ve ever dealt with.

Very noisy place but good food

I had a craving for iskender and Nicosia was the closest place I could find that offered the dish. I found it lacking in sauce and had there been more sauce the dryness of the meat would have been less apparent. If I ordered it again I would definitely ask for double sauce Update Takeaway from Nicosia today and one seriously large meat tub that literally could have fed an army. The dips weren t my favourite but the traditional Turkish pides were a hit and I was a big fan of the chicken doner (lamb was a bit on the dry side). Original review Nice atmosphere but quite chilly inside. I was loving the decor with traditional little touches and beautiful framed photos of the namesake town. It made me want to jump right on a plane straight into European summer. This desire was probably exacerbated by the unpleasant temperature in the restaurant. For some reason Im finding that a lot this winter. Has the cost of gas gone up or something? Didnt seem to be bothering the other patrons as we were a full house albeit in a relatively small setting. Continuing to embrace the friends with salad lifestyle I chose a grilled prawn salad and requested no onion. The salad was generous but unfortunately so was the infestation of onions. The prawns had a sensational char on them though and really delicious flavour. I was pretty delighted with my main although the dips were a little lacklustre and could have done with a bit more seasoning (carrot) and perhaps some garlic (babaganush). We also had the iskender (meat covered in yoghurt and crushed tomato), lamb kebab, lamb kofte and a dinner plate (chicken and lamb with salad and dip) on the table. All presented quite well although opinions were mixed. I certainly enjoyed what I ate, it was very sizeable for a salad and my interest was piqued by an apple baklava. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and friendly service. The Kiymali (mince) pide was authentic and divine - just like a pide we would have in Turkey. We also found the calamari absolutely delicious.

Came here with friends and family, and all the food was absolutely amazing. The marinated lamb foccacia looked both large and tasted fantastic, the full kebab was very tasty and the calamari platter was of very good quality and amazing taste. The food was a 5/5. The only drawback was that the seating was a little cramped and because the venue was a little small it was difficult to get the attention of the staff when needed. Overall, a fantastic place and really recommended. Ill definitely come again.

Best kebabs ive had, my local go to

I made a reservation in this restaurant for Saturday night. At the time of making the reservation, I was very clear that I did not want a table in the front, near the window/door as I know from experience that sitting there in winter can be cold due to the door regularly opening. The restaurant told me that that was no problem. However, when we got there, they sat my partner and myself in the courtyard, and told us that this was temporary, and that they would give us a table inside the main part of the restaurant. However, they then about 10 minutes later told us that our table would be right at the front, next to the window or we could stay in the courtyard. As the seat offered to us was not in accordance with what I had booked, we left. This was very disappointing because my partner and myself had looked forward to a night there. The restaurant told us that the large groups with good seating had made bookings many weeks ago a comment I believe was irrelevant and no excuse. I believe that their behaviour in this instance was unprofessional. If the restaurant was unable to give me a suitable table on that Saturday night, then they should have told me this at the time I made the booking. In the alternative, they should have honoured my booking for a seat in the main part of the restaurant not next to the front. This is so unimpressive and so unprofessional and disappointing . What a bad experience

I went here last night for dinner with my mum and have never been so impressed with a restaurant before. That was the most amazing meal I have had in such a long time. We ordered the donar kebabs, with an eggplant dip and some chips on the side. You can really tell how fresh the food is. As someone familiar with Turkish cuisine I was very disappointed with the quality of the food and dessert. We paid $115.50 for one entrée, two main (Full kebab platter and Iskender kebab) and two desserts (1 baklava and one apple baklava) so we expected high quality food but we received very mediocre dishes. Please have some respect for customers.

I first ate here many years ago and was unimpressed however Ive been a few more times since and have always had great food, quick service and felt it was good value for money. Some of the starters are a little pricey but the mains are well portioned and tasty. Will keep returning. Both eat in and take away are good value

The place is well outfitted and as a longtime customer, I was disappointed that they have upped the prices and become stingy in halving the serve of pita bread and taking away the one dip that used to come with most orders. That is a great misjudgment. It gives me no pleasure to say this. Hopefully this may be a wake-up call .

After a terrible, time wasting experience at the Spanish joint across the road, we ended up here and what a great experience. The staff were amazing (sorry we were a little boozed!), the food was delicious and the ambience when we entered was great also. They have a lovely little area down the back which would be nice to sit in. Recommend to anyone!

We went to Nicosia restaurant with high hopes of good food based on the google reviews and ratings. We planned an evening and drove out to the place. But honestly, it was not good at all. We received our food after one hour of waiting and the food was so bland. It had no taste of anything close to good Turkish food. We were so disappointed that we gave up plans of having dessert there even. The chicken was not off the spit even though the menu said it was. And nothing had any kind of charcoal flavour as we expect from Turkish food. The lamb cutlets were all cooked to different levels with no uniformity. Moreover, the hummus was not at all close to the freshly made kind that we have had at other places. We ended up leaving half the food to waste because it was just not edible after a point. All in all, a disappointing experience. We still wonder how it has so many reviews and a high rating. Wont be returning here.

This place never disappoints. This is the place where quality and price matches perfectly. Indeed if you go for Banquet for 60 dollars it is cheapest price u pay for that much of quantity of food in Melbourne. I have been there mutiple times and food was always fresh and plenty enough to feed village. Staff is very friendly and professional, despite them being busy everything runs smoothly. I looovvvvee the food here! On our first visit last year, we had a vegetarian pizza, iskender, grilled mushrooms, sis yoghurtlu, and chocolate mousse. All tasted delicious and made me felt like I had a satisfying meal that day. On our second visit a month ago, we had red capsicum dolma, dips and bread, panini, and apple baklava. Everything was again so tasty and I loved the flavours and aroma of the food. The only downside is that the table service is really slow on both the occasions and on we were left waiting to order for around 20 minutes on our recent visit. If you are not bothered about that, you will be definitely pleased with the food and the reasonable portion size!

I Had a takeaway meal costing me $225 - and what a disappointment and embarrassing serve to my guests. The Capsicum Dip served was off in other words not good for human consumption.The contents of the container kept on bubbling / spilling out from the under the lid, only to to discover when lifting the lid the contents were literally boiling over out of the container. Dolma with Minced lamb was tasteless the sauce on top of it looked like it was thrown over last minute not cooked properly. Spinach and feta Borek was burnt on one side. Baklava was old and soggy. Bulgur Kofte was served on a bed of lettuce that was brown in colour. Never again.!!!

Have been going here for some time and its been hit and miss, although the experience we had the other night, will not return again. The staff were not attentive and rude, its like they have never run a restaurant at capacity before, The beef sish came out coldish, the external part of the meat was covered in charcoal/ash and tasted horrible, the baklava was dry and stale

Sadly Its time to say goodbye. My husband and I have been going to Nicosia for years. It was THE Turkish restaurant for us. Sadly the past few visits had been very disappointing. Today we thought to give it another chance. It turned out to be the last. The four dips we ordered were all flavourless; Turkish bread was doughy, and the Iskender was swimming in soup.

My go to Turkish restaurant in Melbourne. Love their food. Price is reasonable as well. The only issue is they have a pretty small area for dine in so you cannot expect to go there with a lot of people. It also becomes quite crowded as tables are placed very close to each other.

Had dinner here and ordered the Cypriot Feast. Food was amazing! The only problem we had was that the portions were way too big and we had to take home a lot of the food. Nicosia is usually very busy so make sure you call them and make a booking in advance.

Dirty, rude and the owner is very grumpy. If you think of dining at this place think twice. Small unfriendly staff (oh wait!) Except for the 2 handsome, well mannered waiters. We had a family gathering and we were shoved in the courtyard-really! This was more like the toilet thoughfare. It smelt to bad. Not much to talk about. The food was cold, tasteless and uninviting. When you ask for no sauces on the meat it arrives with a sauce, you ask for tabouleh you get parsley leave thrown in a bowl. Hey! guess what leave the tabouleh to the Lebanese. I can go on but its best to stop. I think you get the gist. Not a fan.

The dining tables are set too close to each other you can t be sitting comfortably. The chicken and lamb donar was so dry we couldn t eat a bite. The chips we ordered was never served. The staff was friendly but the overall experience of having a good family meal with ruined.

A gem of a restaurant. Would travel from my neighborhood about 30 mins away to eat here again. Beautifully quaint restaurant that makes you feel as if you ve been transported to Turkey. The staff are friendly and service wonderful. The food is fresh and delicious, everything homemade. Extensive menu for lunch and dinner. Yum! Vegetarian options: Best falafel!

I ve walked passed this restaurant many times before, and each time it has smelled delicious. Finally made it in for a meal tonight. We ate the warm lamb salad and Nicosia Kofte. Both were delicious, so flavourful and tender!! All the staff were very friendly. Our waiter even went above and beyond, running after us and delivering our leftovers when we accidentally left them behind. Thank you!!

We went with friends to this lovely Turkish restaurant. It gets busy so recommend booking in advance. Food quality and taste is superb and staff is extremely nice and friendly. Will be visiting again. Highly recommended.

Great feed quick and friendly

Had a our Work Christmas break up at this restaurant, the abundance of food was sensational Would highly recommend. Cyprius banquet was exceptional Vegetarian options: Full Vegan and Vegetarian options Kid-friendliness: Staff was efficient and courteous

Ate at Nicosia tonight and have to say I m very glad I walked it. This cosy little restaurant has a Mediterranean charm about it. The restaurant was quite busy but even then the staff were attentive and friendly, I felt looked after. The food servings are rather generous and the quality is there to match. The menu is ideal for coming with friends or family and sharing food. I ll definitely be coming back to try the rest of the menu. Thank you Nicosia for a delightful evening.

The location is good and you don t need to be worried about parking. Lovely and welcoming staff, it s better to make a booking if you want to sit inside otherwise you have to sit outdoor. The size of plates and amount of foods are reasonable for the price you pay. The quality of food is above average (I can say good) but I ve tried much better Turkish food in Melbourne. Chicken skewers for kids were very dry as you can see them in the picture and the kids couldn t finish it, the chips wasn t crispy enough (very soft). The Ayran drink was really good and tasty. I definitely want to go back for the vibe and customer service but not for food quality s.

Take it from a Cypriot Turk... this is one of if not the best Turkish restaurant in Oz and Ive tried quite a few. The Lamb doner is easily the best. The taste is so good (must be handmade and not a cheap factory bought one) and its served in slices as it should be. Not mashed up and covered in sauce. The lamb sis is good and so is the dolma and kofte. I usually order the Iskender. The portions are big and well worth the money.

They were closed 1.5 hours before their own mentioned time. When we requested them to get us seated, they showed us the door.

Great middle eastern food, lamb is fantastic

The food took a while for our banquet, but it was so worth the wait.
