Place was very understaffed for how many people were there, my buddy who broke his leg a few months ago was denied entry because he was limping (they said he was too drunk, he was our DD and didn’t have a single drop of alcohol) even after showing the bouncer at the door his scars from his surgery, all he got was a “thats not going to cut it buddy” and sent on his way. My other buddy and I didn’t even find out he wasn’t allowed in until an hour later because we were stuck in a 50 minute line for the bar to get a beer, all while drunk parents were cutting the line and harassing the bartenders until they caved and served them before the rest of us waiting patiently in line. Missed majority of the game we came to watch.
A guy at the restaurant, about 5’8, grey short hair, and short beard is EXTREMELY rude. My boyfriend and I went into the restaurant to see our other friends that were there. My boyfriend had broken his leg about two and a half months ago, causing him to still have a limp while walking. The “bouncer” told him he was not allowed in and said to him “you sure you want to come in buddy.” This was because of how he was walking, due to still having a limp, and after explaining the broken leg situation he continues to say “well that’s too bad.” Extremely rude, 0 customer service skills, overall a horrible human being.
Sat on the patio. Very dirty, leaves weeds. Dirty bench. Got it on my pants. Wouldn't take much to make it better. Clean, maybe put out some flower plants? Service was good, food was OK. Good price for a hamburger & fries.
This place used to be great, but recently: food has gone down in quality , service is meh and today we showed up at 17.30; it stated they were open. The board outside the restaurant even said open 1600 mon-thu. Fully locked up, lights off. Bring back the old management, Stacey rocked!
Worst burnt burger i ever ate in my life waitress Phenomenally rude Yam fries completely burnt. Chicken club comes with the butt Of the breadin the center. Took an hourcause I guess they had to heat up. The grill should have known when no one else was eating in the restaurant and it was empty. But the waitress. Was the worst part of the whole experiencebeyond rude
Overpriced for the quality. $11 for 5 small potato skins. Chicken in sandwiches and burgers were cold. The Ceasar dressing was of poor quality and had "blobs". Fries were over cooked. Sever was rude. Yelled at customer. She even stated that she hates her job. Why work there then. One of the worst places we’ve been to. Do NOT recommend this place.
This place is your typical hockey rink pub, big place with lots of room and nice views of the ice. I really did enjoy the atmosphere and our server did a great job. She had a wonderful attitude despite being really busy. Food selection isn't bad, but pretty basic pub fare. Quality was hit and miss with our group. Beer selection is mediocre, would be nice to see some craft beer. I won't be rushing back...but I also wouldn't object to coming here again (especially if I was at the arena for a game).
I like this place but I don’t understand why they are always closed during the day on the weekends. We planned to have lunch there as a family while our kids played hockey. Only to find that they were closed for a private event. Then the next time we came today only to find that their hours have shifted from 12pm ( as shown on the Google hours ) to 2 PM opening on Saturday and Sunday. At least change your hours of operation on your Google page so people don’t get their expectations set and then arrive at your door only to find that you guys are closed because you’ve written on a chalkboard that you change the hours or that you’ve written on a chalkboard that you have a private function . It doesn’t build a good relationship with the community with people who want to spend money and support local businesses. If there are staffing issues or other issues, why not just have one person working at the bar and do a limited menu with walk up service?French fries and a pre made sandwichs and beer is for parents who had to get up and bring their kids to hockey. Maybe create a buffet style brunch menu with and advertise to all of the household’s in east Maple Ridge looking for a closer restaurant/pub option? Reducing hours is the first move towards a decline in the overall business. Instead of reducing hours for costs savings - adjust the operations to be lean and mean and try to increase traffic into the restaurant. I will support every small business owner or business owner of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows 110% of the time as long as they are making the effort to create something exciting for all of us like me who are willing to support. If the situation changes I will change this review
The Putin was really salty but I liked it
$5 burgers and $7 wings on Thursdays.
Really good spot here, enjoyed the food with our baby. Staff was friendly and food super tasty better than your average pub grub. Cheers!
Very mediocre food. Serving staff was rude but apologized. If you are in the area I would skip and head to another pub/grill in Maple Ridge
Showed up early by mistake for an event and welcomed in and the server was very friendly and seated us while we waited for the group to show up.
Update your hours online.. seriously!
Absolutely amazing enviroment
Underrated for a fun night in Ridge
Great to see an old favourite back up and running!! Great place to catch a game and have a beer.
Service was good, burger was mass produced and burnt, Long Island iced tea was miniature, karaoke was too loud. No go a 2nd time.
Great spot! The specials are fantastic can t beat a $5 burger on Thursdays!
Kat was great. Loved that she remembered all 6 of our names. Food was also great
Hidden gem of Maple Ridge! Located just upstairs of planet ice, these guys have got a 6$ burger special on Thursdays, the best fries in town, as well as fast and friendly service!! Breakaway bar and grill has a fantastic atmosphere with a pool table, darts, and tons of classic games like Galaga or Foosball. Youve also got a perfect birds eye view of any hockey game/skating happening down at the rink. Even has kareoke on fridays for people with the guts!! Simply put, this is the best place to go for a beer and a good time! 10/10 would recommend:)
From ordering - to drinks arriving in front of me at the table 50 mins.!! No apologies from staff or management! Not my first BAD experience at this location!
Terrible honestly, servers are great but the product sucks. And is over priced.
Staff are friendly and service is great. My favorite place to watch minor hockey.
Alright food, overpriced. Not the best wait staff.
Over priced and my hubby ordered a spicy chicken burger and the patty was chicken nuggets soaked in a sauce.
Atmosphere and staff are friendly, food is fresh and tasty and a perfect place for larger groups or parties to get together!
