Food is super salty, like literally every dish. Pretty upsetting for the price of everything. Drinks are okay, service is super slow. Atmosphere is nice, some things need to be worked on for sure!

Terrible service. Was seated, ordered drinks and never came back. I had to find someone after waiting 20mins to order and when I went to the bar the girl said what s up not how can I help you? There was a homeless man sleeping inside the restaurant after being there for 35 mins they attempted to ask him to leave and he finally did. Doesn t seem like they have the right staff running g this restaurant and we will not be back unfortunately.

I had a disappointing experience at Sammy J s that I feel compelled to share. From the moment we walked in, we were left waiting for over 20 minutes without being greeted or having our drink order taken. When we finally placed our order, they brought only one of our drinks and it was incorrect. After correcting that, we still faced a lengthy wait with no server in sight. It was nearly impossible to flag anyone down; servers actively avoided eye contact while passing our table. When our meals finally arrived, they were just dropped on the table without any acknowledgment, which felt impersonal. I sat with my food for over five minutes without utensils. I also have a soy allergy and had confirmed multiple times that my dish was free of it, but I unfortunately woke up with an allergic reaction. While the manager was very nice and comped us some wine, it didn t address the core issues we faced. Additionally, the lack of a manual tip percentage option on the payment machines felt frustrating. Overall, the service was lacking, and I left feeling disappointed and unwell. Cant recommend Sammy J s based on this experience.

Wife and I went for dinner without the kids. Shared the mussels and they were awesome. I had Cajun linguini and partner in crime had the strawberry salad. Everything was awesome. Good portions, great service. Probably my best local restaurant experience in Maple Ridge. Totally going back without the kids again.

Had a reservation for a table of 14 on Sunday, we got sat down at a table that only had 10 seats so we had to ask for an extra table.. Even though it was reserved under 14 people. The waitress we had wasn t the friendliest and overcharged us on one of our bills, as well as got one of our orders wrong. We ordered two twin sails Bellini bombs, with the added raspberry vodka shot which is $13.75 for one but charged us for two separate $8.50 bellini s and two separate $7.75 raspberry vodka shots. When we pointed to the menu showing the one we ordered, she just said oh sorry and handed us the bill anyways. We talked to one of the managers at the end of the night, she gave us two promotional cards since a refund couldn t be done and wrote our number down. Never heard anything back from the restaurant

their website is down, called and tried to order, got left on hold for twenty minutes, everytime they would return back to the phone to take the order they would put us on hold again, when we finally got to order the food we wanted we were told it s not on the menu when it s clear as day in their menu section on Google. Couldn t end up ordering because they told us to call back when we looked at the menu again (we were not willing to be put on hold for ANOTHER twenty minutes) just to order our food since your website isn t working. If their website is down (says they do not own the domain anymore?) DO NOT bother ordering over the phone, the waitresses passed the phone around trying to figure out how to take an order. If you remove your pizza option from the menu, you should remove it from your online menus. UPDATE: I proceeded to call the restaurant back and order a pasta with pesto shrimp (still on the menu as well) then was told all of their pesto stuff had been removed from the menu, we were asked once again if there is anything else they could get us, after talking with the waitress we had decided on the-blackened chicken pasta. to top it off the experience there was a hair baked into the garlic toast..?? Absolutely unimpressed, will never eat here again.

My first visit to this restaurant left a bad impression. My husband and I had a wedding anniversary and we decided to go to the closest restaurant to us in our neighborhood, plus it was recommended to us by a friend. On Friday, August 13, I came in the afternoon to book a table for two. The greeting girl with blonde hair was not very polite and behaved unprofessionally towards me and then towards my husband. English is not my first language, I learn it every day, but I said I would like a table for two for the evening, to which the girl answered me very quickly and I asked her to repeat it slower, to which she waved her hand and rolled her eyes without repeating what she told me. She then told me that the table was reserved. I thanked the girl and left. In the evening coming to the restaurant my husband faced the same boorish attitude, she began to explain to us that it was necessary to book a table in advance and expressed her displeasure, although there were many free tables. When my husband did not hear what she told us, she simply did not answer anything. I ask the administration of this institution to train the staff to talk to the guests, if the guest did not hear always out of politeness you can repeat, as in this institution is quite noisy. After such an attitude in this institution there is no desire to return.

Been to Sammy J s a number of times and have been able to get a table without a wait. The servers are always friendly and they have a good selection of cold draft beer. My favourite is the salmon burger which has been removed from the menu but they were able to make last time and I really appreciated it. Music is very loud but I guess it adds to the atmosphere.

Not a pleasant dining this time around. Lots of ingredients missing from the meal when ask if there was a new cook in the kitchen I was told NO. SO, it is not acceptable nor any excuse for the kitchen to miss ingredients unless they were out of it, which they werent. So, I wasnt given any explanation.

I ordered take out this evening. Got my order home and realized the fries for 2 orders were missing. When I called to let them know they offered to deliver them to my house. Wow! They arrived with the fries AND 2 complimentary desserts. Above and beyond customer care. I m extremely impressed.

Celebrated a wonderful birthday lunch here. Started with a bellini that I thoroughly enjoyed with my fish tacos. Our wee waitress was kind enough to I treat us with a birthday brownie and ice-cream. I enjoyed this with my friend and we had a wonderful afternoon. Service was extremely good, what a relaxing day.

I have had the cajun chicken from multiple restaurants. I would have to say Sammy s has the best Cajun chicken. Last time I had the blackened chicken it was too charred for my liking. I let my server Ariana know about my previous experience and she handle it perfectly. I believe Amed was the cook who made my chicken. The chicken was seasoned to perfection, super juicy and I love the creole butter.

For its quality, the food was overpriced. It took an hour for my group to get our meals, and there was a hidden mandatory 18% service charge on our bills.

2024 Blacked strips are still one of my faves. Patio is open regularly now. Open air in better weather. Service is good, food is tasty. The beers change but theres often a hazy or a sour on tap plus the regular fare. Heres the thing. The pizza is pretty good. But some of the staff mistakenly think cheese sauce dust is parmesan cheese. They DO have parmesan cheese but I only found out after eating my pizza with the dust. The more you know Im not sure why they have the dust. Its not at all flavourful. Sort of like white mac and cheese powder. 2023 Decent applies, nice patio (though Ive never sat on it. Is it open?) And a reasonable tap selection. Had some blackened strips. Yum.

Food is low quality over the last year. Food like wings, burgers etc- come out cold or luke warm. I love seafood so I tend to order the muscles they use to be very good. The last two times I have been served muscles in the bowl that arent opened. Meaning they are dead- & are not fresh quality. They have more hostesses than servers, which in turn leaves you waiting a long time between servers coming back to check on you at your table, and quite frankly Im not a huge fan of seeing basically teenagers clevage popping out all over the place while being served my food, makes you lose your appetite. Most people who come here are couples or famlies- and it feels like a low class bar..

Food and service are generally good. Drinks are well made. Sometimes their salads come with lots of wilted or off parts, that said lots of bars have this problem with bagged salad.

This was outrageously delicious. The kids menu was awesome and they give this nice little veggie dish with it. I got a burger and i blackout inhaled it because it was just so good, and Im so picky about burgers. The fries are the best Ive had out of literally any restaurant Ive been to, they are skinny cut and perfect. Clearly Im hungry writing this but if youre debating, definitely go! Loved it. Oh also we got poutine and it was fantastic. swimming in gravy which is definitely my vibe. Kid-friendliness: Brought my 2.5 & 4 yr old and it was great.

Have order through skip the dishes a few times. The food is usually quite good. Sometimes the blackened chicken has too much seasoning added. However, this order had much smaller portions. We had the cast iron chicken and the new Orleans skillet ( pictured). This $39 dish was ok tasting, but didnt have a full steak, just a few slices! Not worth the prices that they charge!

Neat place for locals in Maple Ridge. Nice bar and great atmosphere with high energy. Lots of choice on the menu. Food is great but menu is pricey if you compare the quality to the competition. (Cactus Club) Service was lacking, maybe due to how busy they were. I had to wait 30 minutes after being seated to get some service. I had to flag down a waitress to make her aware my group did not have a waitress assigned to us.

Frost time at Sammy Js! I was excited To go, however the service was lacking. And my meal wasn t as expected. I got the steak, shrimp and scallop plate. The steak was overdone and tough, the scallops were chewy and the carrots were way underdone. It wasn t a very good experience.

Love this place! A friend who lives near Maple Ridge took me here for lunch. I was very impressed by the decor, plenty of elegant, comfy booths and stylish surroundings. We each had a salad. Mine was the taco salad, and it was superb, although so big that I could only manage about half of it. We both had drip coffee and it was very good quality. Our server was polite, attentive and charming. I can hardly wait to go back with hubby!

We did also have a moment where we realized we arent cool young people anymore I think there was a fight or a sport event on TV so it was loud and there was a lot of energy but we still had fun and the food was great! On Saturday I went to the Maple Ridge location with friends and had an issue with the food.I had told the waitress I had some bad food allergies, she assured me it wouldn t be a problem. Well when my food came I saw it had food with my allergies on it. I told the waitress and she called the manager over. Salvatore Lo Bianco was very apologetic and concerned. He paid for my meal , my two drinks and also gave me a $ 10.00 coupon. I was very impressed and will definitely be back. Dietary restrictions: Some allergies

Our second visit to this restaurant. First bust was excellent, food service and value! Second visit, Sunday Night, clearly understaffed and the staff that were on were exhausted. Thankfully, apart from the long wait for our drinks and the wine and one cold item for my mothers dinner, Julia saved the day! Excellent server, very apologetic and did everything to make up for the out of her control evening! She is a shining example of a wonderful ambassador for your company. Thank you for excellent service! You saved the evening!

This was an absolutely abysmal experience and the owners are massive cheapskates. Their wifi was down, fair enough that sucks, I waited patiently as they tried to resolve the situation for nearly half an hour, while my take out order got colder and colder, and all I was told was I have to talk to the owner to be able to do anything so the owner doesn t trust their own managers judgement during situations like this, while they bided their time the wifi came back up finally, and I was able to pay, but they didn t offer a single thing off my bill as compensation, while again, my food continued to get cold, and the staff didn t really seem to care. Also, because they were worried about the wifi being fickle, they wouldn t allow me to use my gift card. Got it home, the burgers were fine but the fries were obviously no longer crispy and were soggy, and to top it all off, the one change we made, removing onions from the quesadilla was not done, so they had to be picked out(food sensitivity). The owner of this location is an absolute micromanaging, greedy cheapskate, and I will be using my word of mouth to destroy the business if they don t try and fix this. EDIT: They NEVER reached out to fix this or offer an apology, what a disaster, and absolutely poorly ran place. Garbage.

First timers. Decent enough and the patio is lovely but, CORPORATE: WHY WAS MY STRAWBERRY LEMONADE ON THE SLUSHY MENU? My husbands Bellini was beautifully slushy, while the only thing slushy on mine was the tablespoon of strawberry puree on top. To say I was disappointed in the one and only drink I ordered to celebrate our anniversary would be an understatement. False advertising does not make a good first impression. One of the servers skirts was so short her butt cheeks very cutely peaked out when she was upright, but she didnt dip to grab glassses, she bent, so I got a face full of her cheeks. Lovely as they were, I wasnt there for a show. Cooks need to check greens more carefully. Many pieces in my spring mix had turned and I had chopped my salad up before I noticed so the whole thing had a bit of an off taste. Food runners need to not hand food across peoples faces. Other than that, the food was very good, and our server, Cheyanne (sp?), who was new (4 days) did a great job and all the staff were cheerful, friendly, and attentive. A little disappointed that, when I pointed out my facefull of a** cheeks and the turned greens to the manager, he did not offer a future appy or small discount, but 1st world problems and all.

I stopped into grab some food while I worked and had a seat at the bar. The bar seats were remarkably comfortable and the outlets for plugging in laptops etc were plentiful! The bartender recommended the Panang Budda Bowl with the noodles option and it was delicious but I was expecting Asian style noodles and it came on spaghetti style noodles, had I known that I would have opted for the rice for a better dish match. But it was indeed delicious and the naan was so good it made me forget the noodles! I also had the pretzel and it was fresh and delicious! The bartender was fantastic, the person that sat me was delightful but the hostess at the door behind the desk at no time acknowledged me, looked at me or otherwise acted in a welcoming manner (a second woman came into the entrance, greeted me and sat me while the first woman actively ignored me), I was amused by her behaviour (for the role she seemed to be in) and made a point of saying goodbye on my way out. She ignored me and looked off into the dining room as I left. :P The others, food, and comfy chairs made up for her.

10/10 would recommend Sammy Js Maple Ridge. I ve been coming to this location since they opened and it never disappoints. The staff is super friendly and the food and drinks are incredible. Would highly recommend the black jack strips and a the sammys sodas. The atmosphere is also a good vibe with great music, and like mentioned, super friendly staff and a great GM that really knows how to run the place. If you haven t been here, I recommend you check it out!

Disappointing Experience, Unfulfilled Promises I recently ordered two burgers for takeout from this restaurant, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. I was initially informed that my order would be ready in 10 minutes and was promised a call when it was prepared. However, after patiently waiting for 30 minutes without any communication from the restaurant, I decided to inquire about my order. To my dismay, I was told that they had forgotten to call me, which was quite disappointing given the initial assurance. Upon arriving home, I discovered that the food had suffered greatly due to the delay. The French fries, which had likely been left in the package for an extended period, tasted stale and unappetizing. Additionally, the burgers were no longer hot, significantly diminishing their overall quality. The lack of communication and the subsequent poor quality of the food left me thoroughly dissatisfied with my experience. Timely service and hot, fresh food are basic expectations for any restaurant, especially when it comes to takeout orders. Unfortunately, this restaurant failed to meet these fundamental standards, leaving me with a negative impression. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works towards improving their service to ensure that customers have a pleasant dining experience, even when ordering takeout. As it stands, I cannot recommend this restaurant based on my disappointing encounter.

I had the chicken fajitas which I highly highly recommend. The skillet with the vegetables and chicken come to the table smoking hot and are absolutely delicious. Your condiments (guac,cheese,salsa, shredded lettuce and sour cream) come on their own plate on the side My aunt had the taco salad which was so full of such yummy surprises in every bite and actual ripe not brown avocados in it so so yummy!! She said shell definitely be back to order it again!! I also ordered the crispy cauliflower it wasnt as crispy as it usually is and was a bit too spicy and greasy. Other than that everything was delicious especially the Reese peanut butter pie

Food was good and better than I expected! All dishes tasted great and were prepared fresh. Tried the wings, panko shrimp, kung pao chicken and samurai bowl. Only minor critique is that the salt and pepper wings were a little too salty (although I know the name implies it has salt but a lower concentration would have been nicer IMO). Service was stellar! No complaints there. Server was very attentive, but not annoyingly so either, and brought everything out at the perfect time (appies first and then food and a good amount of gap between appies and main course and even before bringing out the main course). She had a good attitude too. Its in a newer development area. Would recommend it.

Great food, attentive server, but will never return after dealing with the manager. Young, blonde, entitled. I was owed a credit for missing items on my take out order, the general manager told me to mention it on my next visit. I did and she didnt believe me. Told me there was nothing she could do, it was her attitude and condescending attitude that made me just nope myself out of there and will never be back!

Very cool establishment!. Its huge. Lots of room for seating. The food is good but in my opinion overpriced.

Not a lot of vegan options. Service was wonderful. Its so loud you cant hear someone talking normally across the table from you. Vegetarian options: Small menu for vegans, vegetarians and celiac.

For Maple Ridge this is a nice neighborhood addition for a restaurant. We need more variety here and this works. Nice location, staff is friendly and attentive. Lots of great food items as well and pricing is fair based on todays costs. Even used OpenTable and that worked great last time I was there. Keep up the great work!
