I was there not too long with my 3 kids for breakfast, we were left unattended for like 10minutes, the staffs were passing by without acknowledging us, I understand that you might be busy, but cleaning the tables and letting us know that you will be with us shortly would help, no hello, no acknowledgement. I had to leave when my daughter noticed we were neglected and went somewhere else with great service. So shameful
Went to DeDutch this past weekend as a party of four. Two of which were family members from out of town that we recommended this spot to, because usually it’s good. However, this trip left us feeling disappointed. Upon entering the restaurant, there was no hostess around so we waited for about 10 minutes until someone noticed and we got seated. We were given menus but not approached by our waitress for another 10 minutes. We kept it simple— ice waters, a coffee, a juice and a hot chocolate without whipped cream. Again, we waited an additional 10 minutes, before the waitress came back missing a majority of the order. The waters were missing and the hot chocolate contained whipped cream— which was asked not to be put on. The waitress instead of simply saying I made a mistake, just proceeded to say we spoke incorrectly and she was just following what was asked. Another few minutes, waters came out and so did the next hot chocolate, by a different waitress. The hot chocolate was terrible— hardly any actual chocolate in it and mostly lukewarm water. Had to flag down our waitress who seemed to be avoiding our table, and again didn’t address the mistake, just proceeded to call it ‘odd’. So, gave up on that beverage and ordered another different one. Food came out and was decent— though not worth the price. The bacon was poorly cooked and hardly edible, the potatoes were bland, and the coffee wasn’t great. All in all, the lesson learned from this would be to pay more attention to your customers, specially when an allergen is mentioned, and apologize for any mistakes made instead of making it a big deal. Would think twice about coming back to this particular DeDutch. 😕
Had a great breakfast at De Dutch this morning. Our server was Ema, who provided us with amazing service .I'm pretty picky about the way my eggs were cooked and the cooks did a great job. Good food & service.....way to go. We'll be back for sure
I highly recommend this brunch spot to anyone looking for good quality food and service. My husband and I tried their classic sweet pannenkoekens today and they were very delicious. Our server Emma was amazing and the restaurant was very clean and welcoming.
Went for a lovely late morning date and was greeted by the lovely Emma. It wasn’t overly busy but definitely busy enough for only one person. She did absolutely amazing especially for being the only server at the time. Everything was very quick, tasted delicious and no wait times at all. Seems like a very hardworking and very kind girl. 5 stars over the top, would absolutely recommend. Thank you, Emma.
I have had the pancakes I found a mosquito in my pancake. The servers was ok but I wouldn't call it great and the atmosphere feels rushed and not as good compared to the male manager that quit. Quite disappointing. The chef's don't care about there food so they reheat it after sitting under a hot lamp for a good 30 mins and I've seen a fly land on the food and no one did anything. Because the servers were just standing around not paying attention that the food had to go out to the floor.. very gross. I would call this place incompetent but that's the politics way i can describe the place. 2 out of 10 wouldn't come again
The pancake (pancake comes with sausage, bacon, eggs, ham, and hash browns). One of the hams had an unusual taste, which unfortunately caused me an upset stomach. This was the only food I consumed for the entire day, and it caused diarrhea. Furthermore, the staff did not give us enough attention, as no one came to inquire about our meal and our coffee remained empty for an extended period. Despite these issues, I decided to leave a 15% tip, primarily due to the friendly and cheerful service provided by the lady in the red shirt who brought us our food.
Our first time and De Dutch didn’t disappoint. Our server was the sweetest, so helpful in making our choices with the menu. Their special Dutch pancakes (I can’t spell the name) were SO tasty. Could have been checked on a couple more times but when she was around our server was outstanding. The eggs Benny were prepared as requested and just the right amount to bring a little home for later. We added Nutella to the banana and strawberry order, perfect addition—they should add it to the list. We will definitely plan to include De Dutch on our future trips to BC!

Ordered skip the dishes and the food was very subpar, expensive (albeit a bit of markup from skip), and lacking taste.
While the restaurant is clean and hostess was friendly, we couldnt even order because after being seated no one came to take even our drink order so after waiting for 10minutes we just got up and left due to both our kids being hungry but not having our orders taken
The version of pancakes that this place does is fantastic! I have never tried this type of place before and it was so good. The hash was good but high in fat for sure. I would love to come back some day though to try another combo with the pancakes.
I can t even comment on the food cause we didn t get any. We waited for 5 minutes just to be seated by a slow moving hostess who wiped the table as she brought us to it. The nice server came after another five minutes and took our drink orders. We walked out after another 15 minute wait because we still didn t even have our drinks. Dirty tables everywhere and the restaurant was not even half full. Perhaps they were short staffed? Won t go back. Sorry. *Update! We received an email from the management at De Dutch shortly after writing this review. They were very apologetic for our experience and sent us a gift card asking us to give them another try. We went the other day and our experience was excellent! We were seated immediately, the server was warm and welcoming, the food was delicious and we will definitely go back. Thank you for caring about your customers. :)
The food is good and the service is good, but the tables need some love lol, the coffee is not good either but if have some improvement have a lot of potential to be one of the best options for breakfast in Maple Ridge
The Coquitlam location is good but their seating system is broken. We were told 30 min wait. Fine. After 15 min we see 4 empty tables and inquirie and are told we still have 9 minutes because thats how much time us left on the iPad.... promptly at the 30 min mark we were politely seated at the empty table staring at me for the last 20 min.......
We love the Boer breakfast, Blackberry pannekoek and bacon here.... its a bit expensive, but a filling and yummy treat once in a while. Good service!

Yummy omelettes and the side dish of fruit was fantastic.
We visited on a Sunday morning and had an absolutely delightful server who sing-songed everything as she took our order. She was fantastic. The food however? I would expect more than from frozen hash browns and veg. It always sucks when great service is met with mediocre or poor quality food.

completely messed up my order that i ordered over doordash. Ordered a burger and they only gave me the PATTY. I ordered coffee and hash browns, and they didn t come. And all the rest of the food was cold. awful experience

Always our family favourite. Food is always good and manager Britney is a gem. Even when the place is understaffed, she s sure to be a ray of sunshine.
Overpriced but you get what you expect.
Came here for the Croquettes with my girlfriend for my first time here. Kitchen was short staffed. 25 minute wait to get in (which is fine) followed by a 45 minute wait to order food, only to be then told the deep fryer wasn t working. Food was mediocre and cold. Just disappointed.
Food was great and came very quickly, only complaint is they didn t let me have a kids menu because I was too old, no other restaurant has done that and it was slightly off-putting. Otherwise great service.
Used to love coming here we recently tried to go again and found the food prices were extremely overpriced for basic breakfast. Nearly $30 for an omelet.
Maple ridge location had 2 tables filled, but apparently too busy for us to be seated. Completely bizarre. The staff at this location will run this into the ground, operating in this way. We wont be back
The service was really nice and fast but the food was horrible. I ordered a make your own omelet. It was cold. My toast was cold. My mother ordered hash browns and sausages. The sausages were burnt and the hash browns werent cooked fully very bland tasted like hospital food. Very disappointed because its very pricey there.

Good service, portions are large. If you have a small apitite like myself youll need a doggie bag. For being tucked away into the corner its suprisingly large.

A breakfast travesty
Absolutely loooooove going to de dutch for breakfast with my twin and our kids. All the eggs benedict dishes and the hashboat are deeeeellish and the staff are so sweet with the kids.
Food was decent. Highlights of course are pancakes. Eggs are not free run or organic and have little flavour. Rusk (bread) on the eggs Benny was drier than a desert and literally crumbled into powder when fork went in it. Staff was friendly and competent

The service was great but the pannenkoek left something to be desired. It tasted a little raw in the center. It doesnt help that I live in the Netherlands. I make them myself all the time.

My meal was brought, with the promise my two adult sons meals were right behind. I finished my entire meal before their meals arrived, poor service.

Very slow service with only me and 2 others in the place. They got my order all wrong and it tasted like some kind of pine freshener was used to season my food with and the tables were dirty.
First timer, I could really appreciate the amount of vegetarian options. Service was friendly and quick.
I have not been out for breakfast in a long time, and was excited to visit this location. However, after seeing how atrocious the prices are I will not be back. It was almost $20.00 for a fricken pancake! I could not BELIEVE how expensive it was for what you were getting. They need to rethink how much breakfast food costs because there is no way I will be back paying these kinds of prices for food like that.
Staff were friendly, service was good and we got our food quickly. Our food was a little underwhelming especially considering the price increase on menue items. $20 for an omelette with sparse sides seems a bit over priced. The panacook I had was also overpriced. Really hope the extra costs of food are going to wage increases in staff.
Save your time and money. Portions are very small price is hi, service is rude. They dont care, very disappointed this place and chain is not like it use to be. Ill stick to the Home resturant down the road way,way better in every way.

It was my wifes Birthday and shes suppose to get a free Pannekoeken which is always a nice yearly treat. But apparently there policy now is you have to dine-in for your birthday Pannekoeken. We have a toddler and explained we are still not comfortable dinning in with Covid ect. Waitress couldnt care in the slightest, just kept referring to corporate policies. Used to support this place often but they clearly dont care about customers. Big Feast and Humble Root will be getting all our breakfast business for now on. One less customer in an already empty restaurant.

Disappointing- not what it used to be. I used to enjoy the sausage and eggs, but they have changed the sausages. They seem smaller and not as nice to my taste. I was sure they used to serve 2 pieces of toast... Even the eggs seemed small. But the price wasnt smaller. Too bad, I have been coming here since 1984 - not sure why I would return, -

Amazing food, good serving size and great value for money. The hash browns were cold but I didn t mind them because the rest Of the food was good. The coffee got delayed which was then removed from the bill. Overall experience, 9 out of 10.

Went their for a birthday breakfast and first the coffee was cold, but the waitress returned with warm coffee quickly. The food was also cold and they suggested to remake it or warm it up. So we opted to warm it up and it was okay after that. Thats the reason for 3 stars.

I waited along time for my food, and it came out cold. I payed $20 for breakfast and in my opinion I got ripped of. The server treated me terrible and actually got upset when I asked to pay my bill.

Not cheap but the food is good and filling. Like that they use real maple syrup. Only open for breakfast and lunch, not dinner. Truly a Dutch experience! Especially like the Dutch names on the doors of the mens and ladies rooms!

Its ok, the problem is: the bacon being back bacon should not be paper thin and cooked to a crisp. The next time I tried the ham... Very thin and dried... Today I tried bratwurst they were okay but the eggs were over medium instead of over easy... I like the hash brown, the sourdough toast clarified butter. I particularly like the side salad that comes with the meal. Last time I eat here. Sevice is great

I come here quite often, I love the Dutch pancakes they make, lots of options to choose from, a really nice family restaurant. The waitresses are all super nice, this is a great breakfast location to stop in at.

Breakfast was good, but as good as it was, 40 plus $ is way to much for a couple of seniors eating two average omelette breakfasts with no drinks. At those prices, I know we can do much better. Needless to say, we wont be going back.

French toast was delicious But the female staff are the worst. They came to take down the plates that I hadnt finished eating, and they brought me the bill even though I was still eating. You have a bad attitude I dont think I want to go there again! Staff woman at least. Because I did not finish eating the dishes and I brought a slip while I was still eating. A bad attitude.

Went there for Brunch today. The staff is polite and very diligent. Loved my veggie omelette! I am glad I have a breakfast/brunch place so close to home. The toasts are especially good with multigrain as an option.
