Woking Dragon is a hip-modern Chinese food restaurant that prides itself on providing its customers with only the freshest quality food. Setting itself apart from the standard competition - the beautifully designed and well kept in house atmosphere will have your coming back time and time again.
Ordered beef chow fun and shrimp chow mien. First impression when opening the bag, 2 soya sauce packets for 2 tubs of food. No fortune cookies. The shrimp chow mien had nice flavour and a bit oily. The beef chow fun was bland, full of oil and soggy noodles. Very disappointed.
140 dollar order no cookies and 4 soy sauce. Chow mien all stuck together and dry. Almond chicken blond but over cooked. Chop suey all broccoli no othe veg really very little chicken and beef in each. Ginger beef a bit tough but very tasty. Not worth the money. Very disappointed. First time ordering.
Delicious meals! Really enjoyed the flavors of each dish and they had decent sized portions. The flavors are in my opinion "Canadianized." Which I am happy with. Definitely will be back
It was our first time ordering from here through Uber eats as we have been craving Chinese food. Portions were decent, packaging was great as everything was neatly assembled and there’s also a 2-for-1 for their spring rolls and dumplings. The food was delivered quickly and still hot. Overall everything tasted good and we will have to try the popular entrees for next time.
The BEST Chinese food in Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows - Woking Dragon Maple Ridge. Three things make them stand out: Awesome, fresh, and quality menu items that are made to order. A really cool decor and atmosphere for singles, families, or groups. And, they thing that really puts them above the rest, the people that work there from the servers to the kitchen staff to the owners, are absolutely stellar. The staff are really our kind of people. They’re always willing to connect and make the experience friendly and welcoming. Go there for dinner, you won’t be disappointed! EDIT - DECEMBER 2023: a few friends and I eat at Woking Dragon Chop Suey House in Maple Ridge once a week. We’ve been doing it just about every week for the last 18 to 24 months. It’s our place - we even have our regular table. Tonight was no different. We came in and sat. The server team brought us drinks without asking because they know what we order. They don’t usually even take food orders now because we order the same things each week. But what WAS different tonight… is that when it came time to bring us the bill… they comped our entire table. They said “Merry Christmas” and comped us more than $80 in food to say thank you for our loyalty. This was amazing. The profit margins are worse in restaurants than almost any other business. So for them to comp us all to say thank you, we recognize just how big a deal this was. Thanks Woking dragon and staff. You folks are amazing. We very much appreciate you. https://fb.watch/7d4hEohP_4/
The waiters are young people, the environment is spacious, bright, clean, and the background music is dynamic. This is really good place! Hot tea is authentic Chinese flavor. Noodles are not way I familiar with, but it is ok. I took a look at some pictures posted by other people,it seems to be more delicious. I will come back to try again! The following is a review after a week. I change the rating from 4 to 5. This time my family order 5 dishes, each one is authentic Chinese taste. Finally there is an authentic Chinese restaurant in Maple Ridge!
Another fantastic meal at Woking Dragon in Maple Ridge. Everything was delicious and fresh and service was friendly. We had Beef Sirloin Stir Fry in Black Pepper Sauce, Honey Garlic Pork Ribs, Sweet & Sour Chicken Balls, and House Special Lo Mein w Roasted Almonds added. The key to having a good meal here is knowing what to order as some items are a little bland tasting - as some reviews will tell you. The black pepper sauce is really tasty and you should try anything w that! Although we did not order any this time, their spicy salted prawns are also really good. In my opinion this restaurant does all things deep fried very well. Some restaurants have doughy chicken balls but not here. My only complaint would be the portion sizes are smaller than average here but the good quality makes up for that if you order the right items.
It wasn't horrible but it wasn't great either. I've been hearing so many raves about this place I had to check it out. I did not enjoy it but I went back a couple months later to give it a second chance. I thought they might have been having an off day since everyone else seems to like it. The second time it was just as bad. (Feb 2019) My first visit I ordered chow mein, chop suey, almond chicken, sweet and sour pork for take out. The food had zero flavor. It's like they didn't use any sauce, salt, msg, soy sauce or anything at all. The noodles were cooked perfectly. But it was like they cooked them and then did absolutely nothing to them. No sauce, no spice, no flavor. Completely naked bland noodles. So the texture was great. Same with the chop suey. The veggies were fresh and cooked perfectly. They were nice and crispy. But it tasted like boiled broccoli, cauliflower, celery and mini corn. No sauce, no salt, nothing at all added. I've had worse. Some restaurants make their noodles and veggies all soggy and mushy so I appreciate the crispness. But is it common for restaurants to add nothing to these things? Or maybe they did and I just couldn't taste it at all. It just tasted like water. The almond chicken was flavorless. It literally tasted like flour and water. Again no salt or msg or whatever it is that Chinese restaurants usually add to give it that zing of flavor. The quality of meat in the sweet and sour pork was good. Cooked very well again but no flavor again. Is this an msg free restaurant, did they run out of salt, did they forget to add sauce? I've not a fan of salt, I never add it to my food and I often find Chinese food to be heavy on the salty flavor. But I found this food inedible without drowning it in soy sauce which I don't usually do with takeout. (May 2019) Decided the give this another try, maybe they were having a bad day. Ordered the same thing for takeout plus Char Siu and ginger beef. The veggies and noodles had a bit a flavor this time but nothing special. So that's an improvement there. But the almond chicken was so undercooked. It was soggy and completely white. I'm used to almond chicken being slightly browned (almond colour). I had to pull out my deep fryer to brown and crisp the chicken for my family. The ginger beef was pretty good. I've give it 7/10. The Char Siu sounded amazing on the menu "slowly oven roasted to perfection" but tasted like a chewy, tough pork chop. We ordered enough for 4 people. Usually all the food is gone with Chinese but most of it was left over. No one in the family was really into it. So overall good quality meat and veggies but poorly executed. You don't get very much for the price and it seems a little high priced. The staff was nice both times I went in for pick up. Very young though and inexperienced. Several of the girls looked about 15 years old. I think it's great that they are offering students in the community their first jobs. Would I recommend this place? I don't know. I know I'm never going there again because I was not impressed. But the rest of the Chinese restaurants in Maple ridge and Mission are awful with soggy mushy food and gnarly meat. So by default it makes this place "the best Chinese in town". I guess I'd say give it a try and decide for yourself. I'll leave you with this, at least it's not horrible....
I wish they had steamed bbq pork bun and pot stickers and sui mai
We had ordered from here years ago when they first opened and were not impressed, and swore never to order again. Recently we had dinner at our families in Coquitlam and they had picked up Woking Dragon, we were super impressed by the food. I wish I had of taken photos from both meals, the food from the Coquitlam location was restaurant quality food, Maple Ridge was like food court food quality. The dishes from Coquitlam were full of vegetables, quality and flavour. Not the same for the Maple Ridge location, brown greasy bland food. So sad and weird that they would not have the same quality. Chain restaurants should be consistent. Never again Maple Ridge Woking Dragon, never again.
Absolutely delicious, best Chinese in Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows area. However I wish that they would deliver to Pitt Meadows instead of having to go through 3rd party like Skip the dishes, Uber or DoorDash. I give them 4 stars, if they would deliver to Pitt Meadows they would be 5.
Ordered take out for first time- worst Chinese food places we have ever tried. Most food went in trash. You could squeeze the Chicken balls & watch the grease flow out. Chow mein was all crusted & stuck together. Sweet & sour sauce tasted toxic & definitely sour. Just gross, never again.
Great service Reasonable prices Lg portions Food : 4/5
chinese food is top notch they went outta the way to deliver to me out of their catchment zone food was hot good portion reasonable price quality of food is 10/10
Ordered chicken curry fried rice driest chicken curry fried rice ever what happened to the curry sauce
First time we ordered from the restaurant through Skip the Dishes. One of the items we ordered was Lemon Chicken, instead we got breaded Shrimps. Food was so so.
I called today to place an order and They stop taking orders 30 min before closing, no point in ordering. They should change their times online to align with taking orders. Really disappointed!
Best Chinese food in Maple Ridge by far. Server was lovely. Definitely worth a visit or takeout..
Paid $83 for Fried Rice, Chow mein, Ginger beef, and won ton soup. Extremely high prices for low quality food. Ginger beef was chewy and dry, ended up going in the garbage. Won t be back
We ordered egg foo young , tofu in black bean sauce and veggie low mien 0 * for this dish!, for fooyoung it was very very small portion and had no flavor * for the low Mein large portion but lacking in flavour **** for the tofu in black bean sauce , large portion good flavor We were very disappointed
Twice now I have ordered only to find out when I get home that they have either given me the wrong food or just completely omitted things that I have paid for. Also the food tends to be bland.
The quality of food to be expected at this place is genuinely poor at best. If you order a noodle dish with meat, be very grateful if you can even count the slivers of meat on one hand. The dumplings were cold, dried, and the meat within absolutely tasteless, not to mention the over friend chicken balls that were hard as nails. I decided to give this facility a 3rd try without previous comments/complaints. Now I will never give my business. Absolute waste of time and money.
Wish the food was consistent but overall not a bad place. Lovely staff.
Ok food no one can figure out what an allergy is here.
Great food and friendly staff. We really enjoyed eating here
If I could give 0 stars I would for their horrible customer service. I tried to order but Ive been banned for making a complaint about their food. I guess they dont like criticism or making their customers happy. There are no words for this place except a few.......A JOKE!
Super good food and nice staff
Good food as usual, but sometimes the ginger beef is super chewy, still good but chewy. This is our go it place for take out.
Wonderful experience, the food is top notch, delicious and very generous amounts! Thank you
Ordered food, just not as good as it used to be. Prawns overcooked and tough.
The food is absolutely delicious! Great takeaway.
Great food! ordered takeout for 14 people , great portions
Just picked up the wor wonton and I will never order this again! Nothing like what I was expecting for $13.13! It was a small container and hardly any vegetables!!! Extremely disappointed and would like to bring it back and ask for my money back to be honest, what a waste of money! Won t be coming here again.
Delicious! Everything was tasty and flavorful!
Delicious food. Everything Ive tried has been above expected.
Food is fresh, pricing a bit more than most but overall good food. Service is good, we had one hiccup of them getting the name wrong so when they called out the wrong name, we ended up waiting an additional 10 minutes before we asked if that was our food. Otherwise good.
We ordered a $135.00 order before tip. It was delivered within 20 mins (which I thought was pretty quick for this much food). The ginger beef, chicken chow mein, chicken fried rice, and beef chop suey were AMAZING!!!! The almond chicken was more breaded then chicken which was a disappointment especially with how much the cost of everything had gone up. And the sweet n sour pork was terrible. (It s my favourite dish) The dish had so much vinegar in it the balance was way off. My whole house wreaked like vinegar. I really hope you guys look into a way of bettering this dish to balance out the sweet n sour because it was awful.
I bought this Chinese food with the mind set that I was getting good quality Chinese food because of the pricing. I was sorely disappointed, the almond chicken was dry, the chicken chow mien was gross and the prawns seemed as if they were under the heat lamp for HOURS. 4 dishes for 86 dollars, never eating here again DO NOT waste your money.
I normally love wor wonton so I thought I would give this place a try. Mine had almost nothing in it..Mostly just broth. Not worth the price. I would not order from here again just for that reason.
Delicious! We loved every dish! Highly recommended.
Overall, my wife and I really enjoyed the food and service in Woking Dragon. The service is fast and really great. I would encourage all who want to enjoy a great Chinese meal, do drop by here
Delightful experience.. quiet atmosphere with helpful and pleasant staff. Highly recommend visiting their establishment... food was amazing and worth every moment
We ordered two dinner for one combos and a vegetable chowmein. They sent veggie chopsuey instead of chowmein. When we called to explain the mix up, the response was Well we have chopsuey written down on our end so are you sure you ordered chowmein? . Customer service aside, the food has gone way downhill over the last year. The almond chicken was a dry piece of unsliced chicken that looked and tasted like it had been out of the fryer for at-least a couple hours. The rest of the food was barely warm and subpar. It s a shame because woking dragon used to be the only good Chinese food in maple ridge and now I wouldn t even consider it over the other options.
My cousin ordered shrimp pineapple rice instead of cashew pineapple rice. Next time. . With shrimp rice was yummy.
Best family owned Chinese restaurant ever!
Best in Maple Ridge by far!
Was a good place to eat when it opened. Ordered take out today. Sweet and sour pork was bland. Pork was chewy. Almond chicken was bland and chewy. Very disappointed because it wasnt cheap.
Beyond impressed with this restaurant. Ordered food at 6:29pm and was at my door piping hot at 6:50pm. Food is delicious. Don t hesitate for a second.
Awesome food good service! Nice place
did not enjoy our chow mein was basically a large bowl of dry noodles and very little chicken was not impressed
We order food every week and have never been disappointed with the food or the service.
My last experience wasn t the greatest, but I decided to try once more as I was craving Chinese food. Food portions were huge, food arrived nice and hot and with lots of shrimp for the extra $2.00 and friend rice and sweet and sour were very good. Loved the wonton. Restaurant called to verify sauce and the delivery driver was an A+ Very friendly driver and I m happy I have this restaurant another go. Great dinner thank you
Food is really fresh and delicious. Veggies are always crisp, not soggy, and meat is tender. Our family loves the vegetable lo mein and ginger beef. Best Chinese food in Maple Ridge by far.
Large portions, quick turn around and good food. My first time here and really liked it!
Excellent food...generous portions Service outstanding Friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Food : 5/5
Great food and large portions! Service was great after our first few minutes of receiving our food but found ourselves having to flag down staff for anything afterwards.
Food is not bad but their BBQ sauce and lemon sauce are brutal, The BBQ sauce is very thin and liquid and you can taste the powder in the lemon sauce...
Ive always enjoyed this place. My family and I have been enjoying food here since they opened. The lettuce wraps are my all time favorite. Saw some strange reviews complaining about soy sauce quantities, etc, never had such an experience. Will continue to enjoy a meal here from time to time.
I really love this place, food is very fresh tasting
Best place in town Kid-friendliness: Yes Food : 5/5 |
If you want to wait an hour for your food to show up and your order be wrong this is the place, the way that management handled the call when I called back was definitely not professional. Never going back again.
Food are good. But can you pay attention the customer remarks? I really hate peas........
We pick up our orders... delicious food!
Ordered take out here for the first time and it was absolutely delicious! My fiancé and I got the Almond Chicken, wonton soup, spring rolls and chili garlic stir fry and they were all incredible! Both the almond chicken and spring rolls were super crispy and filled with flavor, and came with more portions than we were expecting! Chili stir fry had an excellent kick to it, and was packed to the top of the takeout! Wonton soup was to die for, it didn t last long.. definitely recommend giving this place a try if you haven t, can easily say we were not disappointed!
Edit: wife and I got food poisoning. Great Chinese food restaurant. Food tastes great and the portions they give you in the family combo A are huge, which given how bad inflation is, its nice having your money go a long way. Will absolutely be making this my go to Chinese food restaurant.
Food was absolute trash, messed up the order which happens. The beef was pink, chicken tasted like it definitely was a couple of days old.... so gross. All the vegetable melodies were 90% yellow onion. ..... the cheapest vegetable at the highest price tag.... never again
I used to order here twice a week until the sweet and sour pork started to get dry as phuck. I was chewing it and spending it out and the girls suggested adding more sauce as a solution. I simply stopped ordering here. I asked him to substitute it out for me and they refused to do a substitution. So Ill go somewhere else. China kitchen here I come. Its way better for businesses to be flexible for clients who have had poor service in accommodate their easy needs like swapping out disgusting sweet and sour pork with like ginger beef when theyre willing to pay $4 or whatever the difference is. If its inconvenient and difficult charge slightly more to compensate.
First time ordering from here. The services were fast and great. The food was not so delicious how I expected.
One of our go to restaurants in the area. The food is consistently good! The prices are a little steep but once you see the portion size it makes sense. Myself and my partner can eat *at least* 2 meals each every time we order. Weve only ever had one issue ordering where we had spring rolls that tasted stale, so we avoid those now! Overall the best Chinese around!
deep fried and chewy... good flavour.. Had sweet and sour pork. Ginger beef . Won ton soup could use more flavor Food
The drinks were great. The food was good. Big portions and great prices
Woking Dragon (Maple Ridge) did an amazing job with prepping food take out for over 60 people on Sat Dec 2. This was the first time I have ever had their food, it was AMAZING. A message from the b-day lady The food was delicious, out of this world. The best Chinese food ever tasted and agreed by everyone there. I ve had other Chinese food from other Woking Dragon restaurants, none came even close to this one. I was even going to stop ordering there but the one in Maple Ridge is unbelievable, thank you for the service. Thank you for the great food. Really appreciate it.
I picked up family dinner F for a pre Christmas dinner with my adult kids. The food was absolutely fantastic! Everything was piping hot and the fried rice is over the top incredible! Thanks so much!
Ordered from Skip and everything was warm, fast and tasted fresh. Portions were generous. Will be ordering again!
We have ordered 5 items for take out today...Nothing was too impressed ...To compare with the coquitlam branch that we went years ago...All the food that we had today were either too much salt or too much flour .. we wont recommend this as top 3
Have ordered from the Maple Ridge location a few times over the last year. It was pretty decent until the last couple of orders, especially last night (Boxing Day). I called in a three-item order for pick-up, thinking it would be about a 20-30-minute wait and was told it would be a 40-50 minute wait. Ok, I get it, day after Christmas and people want a little break from the usual holiday fare, but, oh, well. I stopped in at the 45-min mark, only to be told I was 15 minutes early. Lobby area was now full of people waiting for their orders, so the cashier offered to call me when my order was ready so I could avoid waiting in the restaurant. As I return to my car, another customer leaving the restaurant in his van at a fairly high rate of speed nearly smokes my car in the process (must have been waiting a long time, too, lol). I get the call as promised, right at the one-hour mark. The flimsy paper bag almost fell apart, guess theyre cheaping out on the heavier paper bags they used to use. Food felt just a bit more than lukewarm for food that was supposedly just cooked. I get home to find that the food was also lukewarm at best. Chicken fried rice and sweet & sour pork looked and tasted like it was just scooped out of a buffet tray into the containers. The Woking Special Lo Mein was a little pile of seemingly-steamed meat and veggies placed on top of a bed of fried noodles drowning in this jellied, coagulated, salty grey-brownish-coloured sauce. Im Asian and have been eating this stuff for years and can tell when something is freshly cooked vs not. I also asked for no MSG but one could hardly tell in the lo mein dish. The extra star was for accommodating one special request due to food allergies and the bevy of young front-end staff (all the type you would find at C@ctus Club or E@rls, not a surburban Westernized Chinese food joint, lol) trying to do their best.
We drive from Mission to get this delicious Chinese
New to town, first time attempting to order. Refused service because order was too small. Live on my own and dont need a $45 pile of leftovers. Any recommendations for a better chinese option in town? Was looking for a good go to spot. This place doesnt seem to want to be it.
Very disappointed with Woking Dragon. We tried to order our usual, which is 2 combination dinners because this is more than enough for the 2 of us. This was at 4:25 pm . They told us they are not making combination dinners because they were too busy. They had been open for less than a hr. They wanted us to buy the 4 items individually. We always bragged about this place to many of the Facebook groups, that is until now.
Very disappointed with taste, portions and cost. We really enjoy Coquitlams Woking Dragon. Always delicious so we were very surprised with Maple Ridge s Woking Dragon. Egg Foo Yung was so starchy and dry, no gravy served. Fried rice was so bland. S&S spareribs we re so fatty. Ginger beef was good.
Wow, Im really shocked to see all these poor reviews below. Every time we have ordered delivery, it comes quicker than promised, portions are LARGE, and food is hot and tasty.
First time we tried the food here. Itwas take out only and the staff was very friendly. It was all very tasty. The wor wonton was very good. The ginger beef and the lemon chicken was also very good. The lemon sauce was a little to runny for my taste but overall it was very good.
From the lovely woman that took my order and the nice delivery driver my impression of the staff is fantastic. This coupled with great food made for an amazing experience. We will definitely be ordering from here again!!!! Thank you!!
Wanted to change up our usual restaurant, and the Woking Dragon menu was too delicious looking and professional to ignore. Food came quicker than the 45min-1hr estimate, and not only were the combos for 1 big enough for us to eat twice, but the food was all really nicely separated and packed. Even better, the food was DELICIOUS! NONE of that overly salty, mouth furry food, and the vegetables were cooked with just enough crunch. We loved this meal, and Ill DEFINITELY be hanging on to this menu to come back for more.
Poorly made food and rude staff
Good food, Good Service!!!
Food tasted good in the moment but not sure it was coincidence that all 3 of us eating had stomach issues the next day.
We used to be regular customers of Woking Dragon. But due to inconsistent food quality/ freshness and completely unacceptable delivery times, we are not anymore. I can not believe how poor the customer service from Woking Dragon Management is. They have zero regard for customer retention. Nor did they even once try to get in touch with me after having a dispute with their order accuracy and delivery times. I was simply ignored. Having to wait 2 hours for delivery, (when we were told that their current delivery timeframe was 1 hour), is extremely unacceptable I have a young family at home waiting for dinner to arrive and Woking Dragon did nothing to make it right for us. Simply put, there are better restaurants to order from that actually value their customers.
Veggies are extremely fresh... added to my routine list.
The moment me and fiancé received this 4 plates of food It arrived to us on the table in 5 minutes. The food is impeccable. Eating out my girlfriend is something I enjoy doing very much. And all I can say is. This restaurant runs on amazing Ambitions and service for maple ridge . A+
First time ordering and last time. Food was undercooked and not great quality. Won t be ordering again. Disappointed.
Very nice dining a d good portion at good prices es
Excellent service, delicious food, big quantities and good prices. Ill be there again.
Love this place. Everything is always cooked perfectly and very flavourful. We always get the family combo D. Love the ginger beef! It s crispy and spicy. We always waddle away from the table after over eating.
I gave this place two chances and ended up disappointed twice. The food is simply flavourless. Ordered the Shanghai Noodles yesterday and it was undercooked, dry and had absolutely no flavour. There were actually crunchy noodle pieces that were not cooked. It was like I was eating bare noodles with few pieces of cabbage mixed together. The beef dish I ordered had several chunks of pure beef fat in it, almost made me puke, and it tasted like watered down soy sauce and corn startch. The almond chicken was good, again zero flavor but not greasy. Way to ruin dinner and $50 down the drain... Never in my life have I had Chinese food without flavour.... Thats the one thing almost impossible to mess up... So many sauces, spices and oils and yet I tasted bare noodles and meat. First time I ordered here I had Chow Mein and Bbq pork.... No flavour whatsoever either. That was a year ago. Things have not improved based on my experience yesterday.
Absolutely horrid! Called to complain about tiny portion of war wonton for $ 11.00 and was told thats their portion and have a good day.. Definitely do NOT recommening this place with such an arrogant attitude!!
Fantastic food and company
Lo mein wasnt even cooked. It was like they dumped sauce on a pack of dry ramen noodles. Edit: gave it a second chance a couple months later and its even worse. Its empty on Friday nights for a reason. Rock hard, not even cooked.
My son and I were looking for somewhere to eat in Maple Ridge and saw Woking Dragon had 4 stars so we thought wed check it out. The first clue that we were in for a seriously sub-par experience was that we were the only customers at 7pm on a Friday night. We ordered some pretty basic stuff; veggie Lo Mein for my son and a combo plate for me. The food arrived and I was impressed by the size of the portions but thats the only thing that was impressive. My combo plate was 90% rice and noodles and 0% flavour, the pork fried rice wasnt fried and there was no sign of any pork or much of anything else in it, the sweet and sour pork was still partially frozen and the noodles were totally tasteless. My sons veggie Lo Mein was worse (if thats even possible). His noodles were a raw, solid hockey puck at the bottom of the dish and the vegetables were barely cooked and well past their prime. Do yourself a favour and stay as far away from this place as possible.
When this place opened probably 2 years ago it was great. It has been hit and miss and this last meal that I got from there was tasteless and full of broccoli
Anglicized Chinese food served in a nearly windowless spartan diner with bare concrete floors. The vegetables were fresh, and the young servers friendly.
Food not the greatest, very bland and lacking of flavour. We also ordered spring rolls and it was clear they were frozen and brought in from Sysco. So the food is not freshly prepared.
The food was terrible. They wont substitute on the one combo dinners. I asked for calamari with no spice expecting rings of calamari but they looked like giant popcorn twists. I tried a few and they were very fishy tasting. Smaller portions than anywhere nearby. I threw it all out and will never go back
Picked up our food and this was attached. Could not believe there s a note PAID NO TIP. We have always tipped on our orders (always pickup) may not have been as much as a dine in tip. But always between 5-10$ But really makes you wonder why there is a note on such as that. Do you get subpar food, do they do something to your food? Completely unprofessional to even have a note like that. There s some families that scrape together money to have a take out night and shouldn t be judged either way.
My wife and I used to love ordering from here. But Over the past year we have noticed the food quality is down, portion sizes are down, customer service is lacking (except for the delivery people, they are always amazing) prices keep going up and this latest order a they removed items from the combo (new menu apparently) and didn t even say anything. Not only did they remove items, the price went up again. When we called to ask about it they didn t seem to care (but at least spoke politely on the phone). Time to try another restaurant.
Stopped in with some friends to grab a bite to eat, never had I been there before. It was a nice quiet little location and the staff were very welcoming. I hope to return sometime.
Good food! Vegetarian options: Tasty black bean sauce!
Woking dragon-5 We have had really crisp fresh tasting food here in the past, So my wife always defaults back to it. To me , It has always been under seasoned but can always add salt. A couple months back I ordered a dinner for four and 5 minutes from pickup was called and told that they cannot substitute honey garlic for sweet and sour pork. Fair enough as menu states no substitutions, in my mindbequal items shouldn t be a big deal so I cancelled our meal. My wife had another craving for Chinese and I reminded her of our last adventure, but she was determined lol. I told her if she can get the substitution I ll gladly pick it up! She worked her magic and I switched my route. I picked up the food when it was scheduled for and headed for home. When I arrived home and showed our two boys (4) (5) what we had they were thrilled! Sadly they re highlight is the soy sauce for any meal that provides it. I quickly reached in the bag to give them the goods and was sadly met with only one more package to share for me and My wife after I doled them out. Needless to say I was disappointed with the provided condiments. 3 packs is a bit ridiculous for a family of 4. I would assume you d receive 8 packages minimum, not that I ve ever even have to think about being shorted soy sauce at a Chinese restaurant! I should have soy sauce at home no doubt, but we d recently run out so that wasn t the case. I called the restaurant to see if this was normal, apparently that s the same amount every meal receives whether meal for 2 or meal for 6. That s just what goes into every bag. I asked if some could be left when driver was in the area as three did not suffice and was greeted with significant hostility from the manager. I said there was no rush as we were gonna have some leftovers, we would appreciate if a driver could drop some off when in the neighbourhood leaving the entire night open. Nothing came of it and we will not be back. The food was subpar this time to boot, the usually crisp broccoli was mushy, the fried rice was crunchy, not in a good way! Chow mein was as expected and the substituted honey garlic pork was good. Not worth the mess around, We will be going elsewhere forever more.
My favorite Chinese food in Maple Ridge. Super fresh and delicious!
My favourite restaurant for chow mein! Delicious food, clean restaurant, staff are friendly and huge portions! Photos attached are a big plate of chow mein and Combo #1 - both amazing. (I am posting this same review for the Coquitlam location as it applies for both locations).
Ended up getting take out and was craving Chinese. Pretty good Chinese food, one of the best in maple ridge for sure. Its a little pricey but the portion size is fair. The staff at the front were friendly.
Best Chinese in Maple Ridge. Never disappointed.
We had calamari, ginger beef, chicken chow mein & fried prawns. The ginger beef was good, the rest was pretty gross. The calamari was over cooked and rubbery. The prawns were flavorless. Waste of money in my opinion. Parking: Parking is either street or alley
Dont think some of the reviews do this place justice and heres why - The ambience of this place is really nice. The place has wide open feel to it, neat and clean with lots of tables and a good feel to it, not cramped or dated in any way - The staff is very attentive, very polite and nice - Ordered Schezuan fiery Prawns ($21) and Singapore Vermicelli Curry Noodles ($15) with shrimp. Asked for Hot and Spicy and didnt disappoint at all. The Prawns were very tasty and the Noodles were on point This is perhaps one of the best Chinese Food there is in the Tri-Cities area and cannot wait to go back and try more stuff..
Excellent western style Chinese food. Generous portions, fast service and very reasonably priced. Will definitely be back!
Had delivery spent $85.00 it wasnt worth $30.00 lemon chicken done in old oil .Singapore noodles blah .+ more never again.the reviews for good are false
Pleasant staff. Very clean and comfortable atmosphere. Large portions. Will definitely return.
First time trying this place was impressive...definitely give them another shot...
Always amazing
Quantity was good but Food was not enjoyable. Taisted like it came from a second rate buffet. Ginger beef was over spiced and beef was extremely dry and chewie. Deep fried wontons and sweet and sour pork were just ok but nothing to write home about. Deep fried items (chicken balls, egg rolls) were extremely greasy. Chop suey had an oily taste that over powered the vegetables taste. Dinner was cold by the time we got it home meaning it wasn t particularly warm when we left the restaurant with it. And dinner was ready 15 minutes after we ordered which is good but if it was fresh cooked and given how busy the place was it should have taken longer. As noted it taisted like a lot of it was pre-made and waiting to be served up aka buffet.
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER WITH A RESTAURANT.Ordered online which would not complete for some reason so we decided to call in and make sure they got our order. They took our name and number and confirmed that they did in fact get our order and informed us it would be 2-2.5 hours for delivery( being new years eve we called at 4pm expecting a wait time)we waited till 7pm( 3 hours later ) and decided to call to check the status of our food after a very long time on hold our name and number where taken and we where put on hold for an unreasonable amount of time they told us they never got our order to which we responded that it fact we ordered online and confirmed by phone and all of a sudden she found our order but it had been declined. So I checked my bank account and the $82 for our order had in fact been taken to which she replied that she didnt take our order and the girl that had was not there anymore but she would be able to charge us again and hopefully put a rush on our order to try and get it to us before they closed at 9pm. I explained that this was not just a simple small order had we had two small children with us and we had all been waiting over 3 hours for our food already and it was unacceptable to make children wait 5 hours and I requested a refund.......the response I got was very shocking ! She said her manager was not in and would not be able to do a refund without . Just excuse after excuse
I ordered food, and the noodles were terrible. The noodles looked like ramen that came out of the package but you forgot to put the hot water on it. When I came back and told them I wasnt happy with the dish, the girl basically was like too bad so sad so when i didnt accept that, she went to talk to her manager who sent her out to tell me thats what the noodles looked like and didnt I know that? i said well no they shouldnt look like that and I want my money back or it remade. She went back to her manager and her manager actually rolled her eyes! I got well it may be a wait as we are busy and you will have another 30 min wait. Thankfully the chef quickly remade my food and the outcome was a lot better. The rest of the food was spot on. I would say that manager needs to go. I wont be ordering from them at least the MR location for a very long time because it left a bad taste in all our mouths.
We tried ordering on New Years day for 6:30 @ 2:30 pm that day could not get it for then but maybe by 8 did not order will be looking for a different Chinese food restaurant. The food is really good when you can get it.
Woking Dragon is fantastic! Their Covid protocol is takeout-only, and they seem to have a full staff of friendly servers inside running orders out to the door. This makes me think management has gone an extra distance to keep them employed in spite of not waiting on any tables inside, and this gives them an extra star in my books for sure, prior to even touching on their food! The food is also excellent, easily in the top 3 Chinese restaurants in Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows. The ginger beef is top tier, chow fun and chow mein also are fantastic. I will definitely be a repeat customer (ok, I already am )
Fantastic food and amazing service....take out and delivery orders are ready so fast.
That food was so delicious~^^ I cant wait for this.
Very low quality Chinese food. $10 local chinese buffet is much better.
Food is always fantastic, weather dining in or taking away. Staff are very friendly and helpful with dish suggestions.
Everything was great except the food. Not even close to authentic. The broth of the won ton soup tasted like warm water. The rice was not cooked properly and the breaded chicken balls werent great. We try and support small businesses as much as possible and because our regular place was not open today, we decided to give Woking Dragon a try.
Not impressed. We ordered dinner last night, we got honey garlic pork, sweet and sour pork, chicken chow mein, beef chop suey and deep fried prawns. I couldnt visa my see any chicken in the chow mein, it was dark brown and looked like it was precooked and then re heated for our order, chop suey: beef was good however it was 80% broccoli with only 2 pieces of teeny corn, sweet and sour pork stunk like vinegar, very strongly and the pork was tough and chewy, honey garlic pork looked like the same exact tough chewy pork pieces with honey and minimal garlic, deep fried prawns were alright. Overall, not impressed. Not one dish was delicious and I definitely wont be ordering ever again.
Horrible. Ordered a beef and onion. It came onion and beef. Lol wife didnt like hers either she had a chicken bowl.
Hands down the best chinese food! We have been ordering from Woking Dragon (both the Maple Ridge and Coquitlam Location) for almost 8 years and they never disappoint. The food is always hot, fresh and full of flavour. The staff are always kind and professional and provide you with a great experience. The only thing that would make it even better is if they delivered to Pitt Meadows. I highly recommend giving them a try!
The best in Maple Ridge
Too expensive. They say 10 wontons, but got 6. 10.00 for soup is too much. I wouldn t recommend. Go to Hons in Coquitlam, better value and quality.
We are regular customers, have had great food and delivery service every time...until today :( So disappointed because we ordered the night before to have delivered at 5:15 p.m. and the food did not arrive until 6:10 p.m. and that was after I called at 5:35 pm to see what was happening. I was told our order was next to be delivered and should be at our home in 15-20 minutes. I understand problems can happen but someone should have forewarned us or at least given us a discount. We have always tipped in advance but never again.
First time we had food from here was tonight as take out.. it was great. Nicely packaged, polite service and the food was fantastic / delicious. I could say possibly the best Chinese food I have had in a while.
Love this place. Staff are super and friendly. Try the Buddha s feast veg.
Representative was nice on the phone, food tasted great.. aftermath not so much. Food poisoning. Almond chicken. Will likely not go back. Shame, the wontons were amazing.
Be cautious ordering poultry from here, Im assuming the almond chicken wasnt cooked safely because it gave me terrible food poisoning.
Very quick service. Friendly. Awesome food! Big portions. A little pricey buy worth it!!!!
Excellent food.
Very tasty food. Good portions too.
OK food but an absolute useless online system and they never answer their phone. Definitely not worth the time of giving them your business. If you offer online ordering then show some courtesy to your customers about when order is received and complete and out for delivery. Not just pending then an hour later when you check its cancelled. Wont order here again!
Amazing! I ordered a 1 person combo and ended up with enough for two and a half meals. So fresh and hot. All the food was excellent and good quality. Ordered delivery and it got here in 15 minutes. The best wonton soup Ive ever had and the almond breaded chicken was perfectly crispy.
Great local Chinese restaurant with a modern take. Service is great and you cant go wrong with the menu. Enjoy.
Ordered 5 dishes from this place (Chicken Lo Mein w/ Black Bean sauce, Ginger beef strips, Yang Chow fried rice, Spicy wontons, & Sweet and sour pork). The beef actually had a noticeable ginger flavour, and size of the pork pieces was great. The fried rice tasted pretty fresh with the egg not being chewy or any stale flavour, although the bbq pork in the rice could be more flavourful. Where this location fell short was with the lo mein and the spicy wontons. The lo mein noodle is far too greasy and the dish overall lacks any complex flavour. Its pretty much just overly salty black bean sauce on top of greasy noodles and some chicken. Definitely room for improvement here. The wontons were similarly lacking in flavour other than saltiness, and the heat level was a bit wimpy. More closely mirroring Sichuan-style wontons would make this menu option a winner. 3/5 stars for the number of dishes that were a win. Ill revisit this place another day and revisit my review, but so far it seems like if you stick with more mainstream dishes, its a reliable local spot, and less common menu choices are much weaker.
Pathetic . Ordered take out from Maple Ridge Location for the first time and came back home to find they had packed chicken instead of beef which I ordered. I called them to advise them of their error (I did not ask for a refund or a replacement dish) but having checked with their order taker, they said I had mentioned chicken and not beef. I am not a fan of chicken, especially in Chinese cuisine and there is no way that i would have made a mistake in ordering. If the order taker is lying for the sake of lying, shame on the restaurant for having hired such a pathetic person. If she is lying, as she is afraid of the consequences she may face from the management for making a mistake, more shame on the management for creating such a work environment. I would definitely stay away from such an establishment that does not acknowledge when they have made a mistake.
First it took over 1hour and50 Min for delivery which is ok if they told u they were busy and would take that long Next food was cold noodles Not cooked covered over with some warm ones veg dish all broccoli few carrots raw no good taste to the food Will never order again and let friends know of poor food
After trying out every Chinese food restaurant in Maple Ridge, Woking Dragon by far is my favorite. They conveniently separate the rice from sweet and sour pork in their combos ,which most places dont do, so the rice doesnt taste like sweet and sour sauce. Their deep fried wontons are the best Ive ever had. I order takeout regularly from them and the drivers are usually there really fast.
We ordered take out from Working Dragon today. The food was amazing...tasted fresh and very flavorful. I particularly loved Ricks Spicy Wontons. Only downside is they forgot my side sauce, which is forgivable given how tasty the food was. Found my new Chineese place!
Good food, good service!
We tried to order delivery or pickup and they didnt let us. How are you supposed to order food? Very dissatisfied and disappointed.
Great Food, Friendly Staff and good pricing
Great food, quick service.
First off, the wait was over an hour, lots of others had similar issues, order included noodles on the phone, but only to find out after an hour wait that they did not have it, refunded slightly inaccurate amount when they did not have noodles, also actual food prices not consistent with whats listed on menu, is there a fee for the containers, if so, they should be transparent about it. Basa steamed fish really not worth the price (picture below). Probably an issue with poor management and not setting proper process with order takers, who are probably trying to do their best in a chaotic system. Was given a $10 dollar gift voucher but not sure what I would use that for now.
Wonton soup bland
Excellent
The overall experience is okay. Food tastes just fine. If you want to try real Chinese food, dont expect to get it here. Most of the servers are young people. Hope the portion of the food could increase a little bit next time.
Big tasty portions, well cooked and delivered within an hour on a Sunday evening. Recommended.
Unfortunately not a good meal at all. Was told 30 minutes for pick up which is fine but when I got home all of the food was cold and smelled unusually odd. Had a few bites and eventually threw everything in the garbage, $30 not well spent.
Great food
The wontons in the soup were pretty plain, just a meatball wrapped in noodle. The egg roll should be called vegetable roll. It was a greasy shell with little vegetable filling and zero meat. The beef chop suey was stingy on meat and lacked the usual chinese veggies such as snow peas, water chestnuts and bok choy. It was boring Canadian veggies stir fried and was pricey for the amount we got. Not going back to try anything else. One star
Excellent food, good service
Best Chinese food in Maple Ridge...hands down...fresh and delicious...but I recommend delivery at this time as they do not have a good system for pick up...absolutely delicious...
Ive tried alot of different Chinese food places, I usually dont like it in general. But this place... Wow, the food was so good I will be getting their food from now on. 5/5 best Chinese food Ive ever had
Food was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. The chow mein wasn t dry or soggy and really hit the spot. Will definitely be ordering from here from now on
Made an online order, was charged for it but never received anything. Couldnt call to confirm as the phone number is not working/set up properly (was told its because the line was busy all 5 times i tried calling over the span of an hour). Now I need to go back again to get reimbursed for what i was billed.
Just ordered online!! Hot and delicious.... Throughly enjoyed the fresh vegetables the chop suey. Fried rice very nice and fresh tastey Thank you
Best in town
Ate here before ...awesome food and service...this rating is for online ordering and calling in my order. It sucks...
Great food, but you might as well show up late as they consistently go 10-20 minutes past their latest quote for pickup. Need to start giving realistic times for pickup.
Thank you Woking Dragon for the generous meals provided to the staff at RMH. It was absolutely delicious and nutrition packed with a great balance of protein, veggies and rice. I will be ordering my night shift meals and day shift lunches from this place more often.
We ordered here a few weeks ago and it was so fresh and delicious. Not heavy typical Chinese take out. Had it again lastnight for mothers day....... we ordered right when they opened so it couldnt have been sitting around, it was so average. Not sure how it changed in 2 weeks.
Nice customer service and great location, however they got my order wrong twice!
Thought would try new place out ordered the dinner for 6- 7 people unbelievable wow super small portions food was nothing special will never order from there again
I just paid $55 for 4 different dishes. Sweet and sour pork, ginger beef, basic chow mein and just steamed broccoli and a little celery. For what I paid I expected the food quality and portions to be better. We only ordered from here because China Kitchen was closed. Never again!!!!! Very overrated!!!! China Kitchen is much better in every aspect.
Ive tried to order many times on the website and all it does is give me constant errors about the postal code being wrong when it is not. Many times now ive abandoned my orders of 50+ dollars because the website cannot seem to get postal codes down. Has left me frustrated plenty of times. Oh well its their loss.
Best place to get ginger beef and all the rest!!!! Very pleased. And Im pretty picky. Fresh ingredients and the cook sure knows what he/she is doing. 5 thumbs. Please do have your cook training the rest to pass on the skills.
Best in town a little pricey but very delicious
Love this place , great food , good service , not great parking
Love the freshness of the food! Service was great! But .... When you approach somebody from behind (sitting in your restaurant) dont assume that its a male! I think because I had come in to eat alone & I keep my hair very short these days!! The waitress did appologize though & was quite young, I forgave her ...it was actually rather funny! My husband enjoyed the laugh & the kids!
Always awesome. Great flavor.
Pleasant / quick order over the phone. Told an hour until delivered / delivered early at 45min - excellent timing for a Friday dinner slot. Faster delivering w own employees. Quick delivery. Missed one dish. Quick response / fix / re-delivery. Missing dish arrived 20min after original delivery - just enough time that we kept it for lunch the next day / too full to try it the same night. Food excellent! Reasonable portions. Would have liked a perk to make up for the missing/late item, ie fortune cookies or extra rice or something to say sorry about that! The foods delish and is our new go-to for Chinese food in maple ridge. The ginger beef is especially tasty.
Food was good. Funny thing is they dont do delivery to Pitt Meadows yet we are literally 9 minutes drive away. Crazy stuff.
Good service
So yummy! Well worth the drive from Mission
Best ginger need Ive ever had! Fast service!
Very rude employees. We live a bit far from town . We call before 430 to order food. We were told by management to call before 430. They keep changing their rules. Now we have to wait 60 min for our food to arrive even thought we called before 430. They keep changing it up. Last week and a few weeks before we had no issues, but here we go again!! We never had to wait 60 mins for our food from calling before 430......
Ordered the beef chow fun noodles. Horrible horrible horrible!!! The rice noodles were so over cooked they were just a gelatinous lump. No flavor, unless you count the slight burnt taste. no green onion, very little beef! Just over cooked rice noodles with no flavoring! This is the second try at this restaurant. Go to Missions Hong Kong Boys or Chilliwacks Capital Restaurant. Maple Ridge chinese food is gross and expensive!!
Fantastic food
Your OFF the pace today got delivery for 3 Individual Combo dinners we always get But 1st - the dinners were not packed normal in trays! Instead of all 3 food items inside the pork came in separate bowls!! Then NO GINGER BEEF STRIPS we re told within the hour!!! Really? Will definitely look for other Chinese Food Restaurant. Especially when the delivery person just walks one block to us
Foods always fresh and well prepared
First time ordering from this place and I can honestly say it was very disappointing. Service was decent but the food was bland and tasteless, like theyve never heard of salt/pepper or any kind of seasoning. After taking a few bites of this food I contacted the restaurant ( Im not sure if who we spoke to was a manager or the owner) he said to come back and hell have the order remade GUARENTEEING the food will be better but unfortunately it was just as bland and no flavor at all. I do not reccomend this place and I will not be ordering again.
Awesome food and well organized take out. One the best in Maple Ridge
Some of the best chinese food in maple ridge
We have ordered take-out several times already. Food is very good. We like their Lo Mein selections, sweet and sour pork, fried wonton, and deep fried crispy tofu with chili salt. We will order other selections from their menu soon.
Ordered for delivery, tipped $4 for delivery. After 90 minutes I called to find out what was taking so long. Was told I had to come pick it up. Arrived and waited outside for 15 minutes to get the food I paid to have delivered.
Seemed kind of expensive and thought it was smaller than usual, food was ok but spring rolls were not good.
Have been a regular customer for sometime. I am extremely disappointed with the response of staff members when an error was made with a recent take out order. After I arrived at home, noticed an unappealing dish for which I did not order. In fact, it appeared this dish was not even offered in the menu. I called the restaurant expecting to resolve , where , staff adamantly refused to replace the dish, stating it was my fault when I placed the order . My efforts to resolve this matter with staff should not have been a complicated situation , where attempts to verify my order were disregarded. The staff member instead disputed with me, and were adamant not to resolve , stating they would remake the order and I would have to pay . The ordeal to resolve the restaurant error occurred after working a long shift. I was tired , and had paid for a dish I had no intention to order or eat. To the management team, a very unnecessary scenario you have allowed your customers to be exposed to. Under such circumstances, I was disgusted with the treatment I received from your staff members after my inquiry . You should be too. In good conscience, I will never return . Sent from my iPhone
Woking Dragon has the best Chinese food you can find in Maple Ridge. Everything is so good. The staff are kind and the food doesnt take long to come out.
I used to travel to Coquitlam to get decent Chinese food, but now I can go pick up Chinese food within walking distance! The food is always fresh and delicious. The staff is polite and professional!
