Best sandwich you will ever eat!

My first time here and will definitely be back! The staff were really nice. I ordered the #20 and oh my it was delicious. The bun tastes so fresh and the flavours of the sandwich were delicious!! Highly recommend :)

Best sandwiches ever! I m always impressed when a restaurant can do vegetarian sandwiches well and this place definitely checks that box. I always get the Number 29 with hickory sticks I can easily eat the large on my own. It keeps me full for a loooong time and tastes amazing. I ll definitely have to try a breakfast sandwich whenever I go next.

Terrible food. A 23$ sandwich is insane and it tasted so bad. Not toasted at all. They cut up a pickle in a bag and serve a single spear on the side. Stay away!

I tried 2x around $16 . To give benefit of doubt . Both times disappointed. Corn beef & rye was not worth what I paid !! Thin sandwich I thought it would be loaded . Not at all . The other was turkey w/ cranberry . Equally disappointed

I gave this place two tries. The first sandwich was dry and tasteless. The second time I requested additional mayo...it came with half the ingredients out of the sandwich and mayo everywhere...inside and out. There are better places for a sandwich.

We ordered for the first time and i am now addicted. The turkey, stuffing cranberry sandwich was probably hands down the best sandwich ive had. Price is fair for what you get! Stop eating processed fake food from Subway and give this shop your business !!

I ve been to all types of sandwich specialty restaurants, but when I walked into this big star I knew it was going to be a superb experience. The employees were friendly and quick to help and offer suggestions. Overall a great experience with an even better sandwich. Couldn t recommend more! Best sandwiches in the lower mainland!!!!

The staff and manager are incredible at the Maple Ridge location. They went above and beyond!!! The manager called me back when they were closed to take a catering order for the same day placed. Within 2 hours!!!!! Thank you so much for providing us not only amazing service but incredible sandwiches!!!!

This was my first time at Big Star and all I can say is WOW! This was one of the best sandwiches that I have had in recent memory. They managed to take a simple pulled pork sandwich and make a memorable meal out of it. Cant wait to come back.

I love Big Star, but not happy with the last visit I had. We showed up at 7:30 and were not greeted nicely. Got the eye roll and just was told basically that they are closed. I dont understand why they would clean their machines and put stuff away before their closing time.

Really good sandwiches, guys inside were friendly. Only negative is it s gotten so expensive - over $30 for 2 sandwiches for my wife and I to share. Seems a little much. But love their turkey and swiss (No 8) and the turkey, cranberry and stuffing sandwich, highly recommend.

Ive tried 4 times to go to this place and I STILL have never eaten their food. Every time it was another reason to leave.... With no food. First time they said they were doing take out orders from the phone and it would be 45 mins before they could even think about serving me. Next time, they were completely out of chicken and ham. 3rd time it was closed early, no note on the door or anything. Last time I tried they were rude and out of lots of meats again. If they ever do open again... IM NOT WASTING MY TIME.

Went to try big star sandwich this morning during their soft open, I got the number 9 with a potato salad as the side , sandwich was delicious can tell the bun was fresh, going to give the rye a try next time , staff were super friendly

Sandwich was just OK. First time coming here I got the #18. Lacked cranberry sauce and the turkey was very bland/dry. I had to add lots of salt & pepper to really enjoy it. Found it quite pricey for the size & taste/toppings.

#27 with turkey instead of roast beef was the best sandwich I ve ever had in my life

Greetings, My wife and I are avid fans of their sandwiches. Like many others, it is mainly because of the use of hickory sticks and mac sauce. It is absolutely delicious. Ive left a review before, but I have now returned to change my review after my most recent experience. We last visited their restaurant, located in Maple Ridge BC, for lunch on May 3, 2020. We purchased a large veggie sandwich (I believe it was #31). The employee (we forget the younger woman s name) prepared our sandwich and rudely tossed it on the counter top in front of my wife, without any comment. After we left, we began our meal and shortly after realized there were no hickory sticks (once again, one of the main reasons we buy their sandwiches). I am not typically the one to complain, but given the rather rude behavior we received in addition to the ill-prepared meal, I had to make the call to their restaurant. I spoke to the employee that had provided the sandwich to my wife. I asked if the sandwich was supposed to have hickory sticks, and she responded yes. I advised her it did not have any. She attempted to apologize, but her tone of voice and response were far from genuine. She stated she had had a rough day, and that she must have forgotten. Regardless of what her response was, I was still willing to accept her apology. What bothered me, was how she offered us a bag of hickory sticks the next time we visit. Not only did we not get what we paid for, but we were asked to return and spend another $14 to fulfill our wishes on this first meal. She continued to explain that a few hickory sticks were not worth $14, and that she could not issue a credit, replacement or refund. Her bitter tone of voice, irked me even more. I called her out on this, and she began to dwell on the fact that she was working alone during a busy time, and how it was effecting her day (even though my wife was the only person in the restaurant when she walked in). I emailed the general email address for their business on May 16, 2020. It has been over 3 weeks, and I have yet to receive a response. Poor service all around the house here folks.

Originally they had a plant based option, but recently it was removed from the menu. So I ended up with a lettuce sandwich. Was about to leave when my cash was rejected. Also, the sandwich was incredibly small for $10. Just needs alot of work here.

Never had problems with skip the dishes and this place before, the order was always 100% correct but today was an absolute flop. I got the deli meats sandwich and asked to substitute the chipotle mayo for regular mayo, and added onions and removed the pepperoncini.. when I opened my order it had no onions, there was so much chipotle mayo (when I say so much.. I mean so much so you could hold the sandwich up right and it just dripped mayo) I couldn t even eat it and was covered in pepperoncinis. I m so disappointed I spent 21 dollars for a meal I didn t even get to enjoy.

I enjoyed a corned beef sandwich on rye. Very tasty, and the quarter pound was a good size for lunch. The restaurant was clean and tidy, and the staff friendly and helpful. Be aware of the parking, though. Just a few spots, in the rear of the building. Otherwise terrific. The prices are good, too.

Best sandwich shop Ive been to. Turkey, corned beef and roast beef are the ones Ive had. All of them are worth a try, especially the roast beef. Its very flavorful so highly recommended.

The #9 is one of, if not THE best sandwich ever! An amazing deli style sandwich with ham, capocolo, bacon, habenero jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, pepperoncinis, and Chipotle mayo. And just when it couldnt get any better, throw some hickory sticks in there for a delicious crunch. Mama Mia what a feast!

I ordered a #7, It was lacking much meat, only one slice of capocollo, and loaded with lettuce. The bun was a little on the dry side. With all the good reviews I was expecting a bit more. Not very filling at all. The store closes too early to be a regular customer.

They were offering a free breakfast sandwich and coffee this morning so my wife and I popped in, hard to beat that kind of deal! I wouldnt say Im a huge breakfast sandwich connoisseur, but I would come here instead of any other place, hands down. Theres a McDonalds across the street, so lets do a comparison: $3.89 Sausage and Egger at McDonalds vs. $5.50 Egg, Capocollo and Provolone at Big Star Big Star is a bit more expensive, but its bigger, so the price/quantity ratio is probably comparable. But the quality of Big Star is so, so much better. Not greasy, delicious and fresh ingredients, and a very friendly staff as well! So if youre in the market for a breakfast sandwich, do yourself a favour and just come here. Im eager to try the lunch sandwichs too...

A darn tasty sandwich! Stop here if you are craving a sub. The menu can be a little confusing to look at as there is no pictures to base your choice off of. That can mean that your sandwich of choice may not come out the way your minds eye sees it. No worries though because they are all good, it just may take a few trips here to find the sandwich you love. The staff are friendly and fast. The only comments on the facility itself is that the music was way to loud for the space. Things like paper signs on the doors for the washrooms, and no paper towel in the washroom are low hanging fruits that could make this space meet customer expectations.

My husband and I decided to try it out after a friend recommended it. We were not disappointed! The food was great as was the service. We will definitely be back.

Great sandwiches, great staff, but ridiculous drink options. The only option you get for a beverage is an overpriced glass bottle of soda. would have been nice to have a fountain drink option instead of paying almost 4 dollars for a coke. could see this being a big problem for large familys. 2 parents and 3 kids, youre looking at almost 20$ in drinks alone. I want to emphasize how GREAT the sandwiches are because they really are, and I will definitely be going back, but this time with a drink already in hand.

Went in and got two sandwiches, soup and BBQ flavored potato salad on on February 13th 2018. Potato salad was very good. Soup was the broccoli and cheese which was very nasty, I threw it out after one spoonful. It even looked like someone threw it up. I had the turkey and capicola sandwich and my wife had a ham one, we both were very ill shorty after eating it. Too bad we were excited to eat the sandwiches, when we got in it was so muggy and gross in there I had to leave after making my order.

Over priced for what it is.

Way over priced. Had the small beef dip and potato salad (original). Sister had the turkey sandwich and chips. Both had a bottle drink and was $32 with tip. We both agree, neither felt our food with tip were anywhere close to being $16 per person. Staff was friendly and restaurant was nice and clean.

Sandwiches are ok, until you get sick, prices are high for renting a sandwich. I recommend not watching them make the sandwich, very poor food safe. Good luck

Best corned beef sandwich ever!! #28. My boyfriend got #20, which was really good also. We had one minor hiccup- our order accidentally got mixed up with another customer who had also ordered 2 sandwiches, and we were both getting take out. I realized it when I got home and gave them a call as a heads up that I got the wrong order, and they were so sweet and apologetic (even though it really isnt a big deal, mistakes happen!). By the time I got back down, they had our sandwiches ready for us. Customer service and food were both bang on. The girls working there are super nice, and the restaurant was spotless.

Decided to try this place at 11am on a Thursday. The sandwich was superb and reasonably priced. I had a Small #27 Roast Beef, Provolone and Garlic Aioli. Great place for a fresh bite to eat, and definitely will be back for some more in the future.

This place is amazing! I work at Ford and have gone there 2 times. There is no cheating out on anything. The meat is piled high and when you ask for extra sauce YOU GET EXTRA SAUCE! If you have no tried it, you must. I recommend #25 with extra Mac sauce. Yes it has Mac sauce like McDonald s Mac sauce. Employees are great to deal with. This is my new favourite place.
