Best sushi in Maple Ridge. Peaceful atmosphere. I don t go anywhere else.

Wonderful sushi spot, the lunch bentos are awesome, great value. The udon is also very delicious. Great service.

Good crab rolls nice people reasonable prices

Food is great if we got the food we ordered for take out. My mistake not double checking before leaving. Ordered 2 kappa avo rolls and no kappa in either. Ordered a California roll and it wasn t in the package. The rest of the order was good but overall family was disappointed and no point in driving back and then having mushy sushi. Going to go back to our previous favourite moving forward. Overall disappointing.

Friendly staff. Not necessarily a spot to dine in unless for lunch. Take out is your best option. They charge for paper bags. Sashimi is fresh. Packaging is great.

My wife and I both got food poisoning after eating here! It was our first time visiting this restaurant as we were in the area and saw the high reviews. We ordered the assorted sashimi, chirashi don, and an oshi. The food was decent, salmon was a little bland, but overall it s an average sushi restaurant. However, half an hour after we left, we both had stomach ache, and then multiple visits to the washroom with diarrhea. I can t say which dish it was as we didn t notice anything off, but it was definitely something we ate here. Would not recommend.

Great food and service! I came in with a group of 8 after backpacking, around 2:30pm, and was immediately greeted and seated by the friendly servers. Although seating is limited, they quickly rearranged some tables to fit us. The two young servers were very attentive, always ensuring that we had cups full of tea and water and enough wasabi and ginger. We were pleasantly surprised by the quantity, quality, and value of the lunch bentos. The tempura was light and crispy, and everyone agreed that their mains in the bentos (beef, chicken, or oshi) were delicious. Even the miso soup seemed tastier than what Im used to in Richmond or Vancouver sushi places (although this mightve been because this was our first hot meal since backpacking). The beef oshi in the oshi sampler was particularly flavourful and rich; Id definitely order a full order of it next time. Although the prices are very reasonable for sushi these days, there is no sacrifice in the quality of each dish here. Thank you Hako Sushi for such a pleasant experience!

Bright, clean and intimate sushi shop. The food was very delicious and the service was great. We are both vegan and they catered to our needs really well. We asked about ingredients and the wait staff checked a few times for us or clarified if they werent too sure if something was OK for us as vegans. We even double checked on the veggie gyoza because they use Beyond meat!

We just tried Hako Sushi for the first time tonight and it was absolutely amazing!! We got it delivered and it was still warm and everything was fresh tasting and light! Not overly done with rice either! The Oshi was AMAZING! Will definitely be coming back!

Hako is my fav in MR. I am a sushi snob, and I love it. Their ingredients are always great quality, fresh and delicious, plus they have always got my orders correct, even when I special order. The food was so fresh and delicious.

We ordered from this restaurant few times. Good food but today the service made us really disappointed. The spicy chirashi don is $24 on the menu, same as the non spicy chirashi don. We ask the non spicy one with spicy source on the side. Later we found out they add the spicy source fee on the bill without letting us know. For me this is cheating to the customer.

I usually don t give 1 star but just had an unpleasant experience here today. I ordered a spicy chirashi don today and asked the girl to put spicy sauce on the side, so I can decide how much I add. When I got my bill I found an extra $2 was charged without telling me. I asked why there is an extra charge, she said because I asked for spicy sauce on side. But they have the same price on their menu! And she didn t inform me there will be extra charge when I placed the order. I was very happy with her service at the beginning , my girls also had a good time and enjoyed their food. So, it is very important to check your bills before you pay! Make sure there is no SURPRISE!

I had the Wild West Roll with black rice. And it was really tasty, the amount is good. But what I want to shout out is the service, very friendly.

Very small restaurant but the prices are very reasonable and the food is great, staff are very friendly. The spicy combo came with a lot of rolls, and was delicious. We also tried the Canuck roll, crazy girl roll, and a normal cali roll and all of them were delicious. Will definitely be back!

We love this sushi restaurant. We have dined in a few times and gotten take out and the sushi is always fresh and delicious. (In photo I customized my dynamite roll and asked for cream cheese and different sauces on top and it was so yummy). I highly recommend!!

I had a favorite roll from the sushi spot that Hako Sushi replaced. I was so sad when I saw it closed down. I went to Hako, and asked them if they could do these rolls for me. Not only did they do my favorite roll for me, they made it even better than before ! 5 star Sushi and 5 star customer service. My Sushi spot for sure!

Got takeout the first night for a try-zies and was surprised at how good the chopped scallop and tamago sushi but what really blew us away was the salmon oshi. The next day we came back and tried the very fresh assorted sashimi which was delicious. The prawn tempura was a nice start, crispy and sprinkled with herbs, and had to try a dine-in salmon oshi which was just as good as the takeout. The day after I took a friend and got the oshi lunch box which was filling and fantastic! And tonight we got the oshi platter, 5 different oshis, and they were so rich and tasty I almost want to go back tomorrow and get it again. Hako is the new IT place for good quality !

It is surely one of the highest quality sushi places you can get in this area. Fish is fresh and the chef is very attention to detail on the dishes . Even a simple udon will be served with a candle stove to keep the pot warm. Sushi are delicious and portion is normal. I am not just giving good score because you get 10% off now if you write a review here.

A neat corner sushi restaurant hidden away in Maple ridge. The server was polite, attentive, and quick to respond to any issues and requests. 2 years after moving to Maple Ridge, I am finally graduating from Sushi Nomad^^ It was so delicious. My second son, who is the quickest in the neighborhood among the family, ordered and I only went to pick it up, but I stayed for a short time and the atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice. I was on a business trip and craved for Japanese food. Googled the best Japanese restaurant in Maple Ridge and all the reviews were correct. Hako sushi is a newly opened restaurant right beside Save on. Their food was delicious the service was fast and price were reasonable. Highly recommended and definitely coming back if Im in Maple Ridge area.

Had delivery. Sushi rolls are excellent, fresh and low warm sticky rice with more of the ingredients inside the rolls. Sunumono was the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. No flavor, and with tomatoes???? Had to dump it. Will order here again for sure and stick to sushi.

We had an appointment in Maple Ridge and decided to find a place to grab a bite nearby. After reading some stellar reviews, we settled on this particular restaurant. To my pleasant surprise, the food turned out to be absolutely amazing! I cant recommend Hako Sushi enough; it truly was the best! During our visit, my boyfriend curiously asked about the meaning of Hako. As it turns out, it translates to box, which perfectly describes their signature Oshi sushi, prepared in a unique box style. The only downside was that I wished Hako Sushi was located closer to my home in Vancouver.

I have been a loyal customer of the same pickup restaurant in Coquitlam for years. However, my luck changed when I recently discovered an amazing restaurant in Maple Ridge. After ordering from Hako multiple times in a row, I can confidently say that I am thoroughly impressed with the exceptional quality of their food. Hako has quickly become my go-to place, and I highly recommend it to others.

By far the best spicy tuna rolls ive had in 30 years! My only negative feedback would be the prices are about 50% higher than other restaurants so not a place to visit daily for most.

Im so afraid to give this place the review it rightly deserves. I dont want it to become so busy that it is a hassle to go. However this place deserves all the praise I can give it! Starting with the food, great sushi, each specialty roll is big enough to feed 1 person which is so rare in lower mainland sushi joints. The rolls are fresh and well made I highly reccomend the avocado cucumber roll, B.C. roll, red dragon roll, and the salmon Oshi pressed Osaka style sushi. Each of these is amazing and well made. The miso soup deserves its own mini review here. Ive been to low and high end sushi joints in many places. The Miso soup here is the best, bar none. Perfectly salty and balanced with real miso flavour not some dry soup package theyre trying to pass off as authentic. This miso soup is fantastic and well worth the trip for this one item alone. Side items like tempura are also large and high quality so just be aware when ordering that you will be very full by the end. The staff is exceptionally friendly and make their customers feel special. And the atmosphere is cozy with only a few tables for seating. Vegetarian options: There are several vegetarian options for rolls including the usual suspects (cucumber, avocado, carrot) and some not so usual suspects including yam, cream cheese, mango, asparagus and spicy tofu. Add to that lots of veggie appetizers, salads, and soups. Theres lots of options for your vegetarian needs.

Wow, our new favorite sushi place. I had the Spicy Combo and an Oshi Sampler. Both were so good! They specialize in Oshi, which I had never tried before. Im so glad I did because its going to be a new thing for me. The Tenderloin was my favorite. I highly recommend you try out Hako for your next sushi outing.
