This little spot is such a gem! The place is welcoming, cozy, and clean. The service was great and the food everything we ordered was so so tasty! The quality of the ingredients and the execution of the plates is what makes this place worthwhile. We ordered the agedashi sandwich, the roots revival bowl, kids grilled cheese, london fog and hot chocolate. Highly recommend.

I have gone three or four times. Have had the poutine bowl, a classic breakfast, pierogies and eggs. My wife has had a number of different celiac friendly combinations. Our most recent visit resulted in her getting glutened, so Celiacs beware. Could easily have been a one-off.

We had to wait, but enjoyed sitting outside in the sun watching the horses across the street. Service was great, very friendly. The food? Our potatoes were burnt. The kind of crispy you cant fork. My eggs benny were nicely soft, but on a weird sugary bun rather than an English muffin, so I ate around it. Humble is unfortunately a one and done for us.

Busy little place, they make a great London fog. I didnt like what I ordered, which was the crispy tofu sandwich. It was not crispy and the focaccia bread was soggy as was the tofu breading. For a tofu sandwich I found it excessively greasy. Left a puddle on the plate. The salad and wedge fries were good. Server was curt and didnt know what was in items like the salad, I asked and she listed ingredients which the salad did not have like tomatoes, it did have pumpkin seeds which she didnt mention and Im not a fan of. Also her skirt was nearly a belt which was a tad unprofessional. I would try something different if I went back. Which I think I would only do for a to go London fog. Patio is cute, you get a view of horses.

This was such an amazing lunch today. I Had the Salmon Brioche with Yam Fries and a Side Salad, and my hubby had the Humble Melt with Miso Mushroom Soup. Was so delicious and made to perfection. You really must try this. Thank you Michaela for a great service.

Stopped in at Humble Roots on our way back to Vancouver from Harrison Mills and it was worth the detour! They have both a regular menu and a full fledged vegan menu, perfect for me (vegan) and my partner (who eats everything). I had the vegan farmers skillet and a london fog with oat milk, my partner had the hopcott brisket benny and we shared the vegan version of the beet hummus. The food was absolutely amazing!!! We were both so impressed with the quality of the food, the unique combinations of flavors... It was really REALLY delicious. Not to mention, they offer large portions of each meal so we were happy we arrived hungry! The entire experience was delightful! Ill also note that the service was fast and friendly, comfortable indoor and outdoor seating and my only, minor note, would be that there is minimal parking outside the restaurant. Was all around, so happy with the food and would 100% go back for another meal! Dietary restrictions: Has a full regular menu as well as a full vegan menu, with many options for both culinary types of culinary preferences. Parking: Note a lot of parking in front of the restaurant, some spots across the street. Careful while crossing.

After having a terrible experience at a local subway with customer service, it reminded me of the exact opposite I had at Humble Roots cafe, and i wanted to write a review. This is the reason i never usually do chains or cheap places like subway and will always try and support small business and little hole in the wall restaurants like humble roots. I had went for a day trip to Goldden Ears as i do 3 or 4 times in summer (come from Langley) and i had always tried to stop at humble roots but i either missed it as they close at 3 or they had closed for catering one event 1 time, i just always seemed to miss it. Anyways i finally made it and was so excited as the reviews and menu were fantastic. So my 1st time and i ordered the crispy gnocchi and brisket bowl with a fried egg. I was expecting like a crispy gnocchi dish with brisket and some kind of aioli or hollandaise or little sauce. It turned out the dish had quite a bit of au jus.. so it seemed a bit more like a soup with soggy gnocchi floating in it. It just did surprise me and wasnt guite what i thought it was and didnt really get why advertised as crispy gnocchi. Anyway i apologized and juat said I dont think i can eat this, I just didnt like it, and i felt bad but wanted to be honest. The server just felt so bad because they knew i was so excited and so they asked if they can get me something else and honeatly i was thinking oh man im gonna have to pay for 2 meals but whatever im hungry..I went with a clubhouse and hasbrowns and she said no problem. When she brought it out she was so apologetic and said that they took care of the whole bill (even my latte) and i was so blown away and thought that was too much, i would have been happy to pay for the clubhouse meal and my drink amd they just wouldnt hear of it and even tried to give me $5 off gift certificate. I said no no, thats too much honestly. I left and tipped very well and bought a cookie going out. Just wanted to say what a amazing place and people, you never get customer service like that. I wasnt wanting to complain amd almost didnt say anything but i was so excited to have made it there, im glad I spoke up and got something else and it was a delish sandwich with the best bread. Most of all, the service was above and beyond. Most definitely will be back more often when out that way!

Staff with attitude and to go portions are laughable . Just because you are one of the 2 places in Ridge that serves a decent brunch does not give you the right to skim on to go meals and have an attitude towards patrons that support your business. Will order Big Feast and drive to pick up my meal instead of ever ordering from these entitled folks.

We love being able to walk to Humble Roots for brunch. They service a fantastic eggs benny. The staff are lovely- atmosphere is great and everyone is so welcoming and warm. And you can pop in and grab a coffee to go and they re quick to make it.

Cute place but felt unwelcomed by a server who seemed to not want people on patio and kept discouraging people from sitting outside for service as it was busy and no space inside. Coffee is great! Beautiful horses across to look at while there. Food

I started with the maple mist not to sweet and very balanced warm drink. Brisket Benedict was so good eggs soft with the brisket not overly powering anything else on the dish but the hollandaise took the show to end this great food adventure finished with a glass of locally brewed blackberry & lavender Kombucha will be back as soon as possible great food and drink great staff cool atmosphere

Theres not too many places in the area to grab a bite so it can get busy, but this one is often worth the wait. The staff are very friendly as well even when very busy. I look forward to eating there again

Lunch today. Nice spot on the patio, although street noise was a bit of a distraction. Quick & efficient, and the meal was very good. Lots of variety on the menu, including a sepearate vegan menu. We will return!

We visit maple ridge once a year, August 2023 these guys were delicious, but August 2024 everyone s food was pretty low quality, and nobody enjoyed. Toasted sandwiches barely toasted, cheese not melted. Farmer s skillet just a big skillet of dry potatoes, barely any sausage. It s not like they were busy, we came for Monday lunch. Been here many times for brunch and lunch. The eggs benny is always good and the homemade soups are always tasty. One of my favourites was the falafel wrap but it seems to have been taken off the menu. Local eatery with lots of options for all types of diets.

I came in for lunch today around 11 am, It was very busy but the wait was not long at all for my food! I had the turkey club on their sourdough bread and cranberry mayo. It was delicious!! My server was sydney she was so sweet and met all of our standards for lunch. The patio was a nice place to sit with it not being too hot out today. I definitely recommend this restaurant ill 100% be back!!

Service was terrific and the food was awesome. I had the perrogies breakfast. And my latte was so good!

The few times Ive been theyve messed up my order (given me the wrong dish altogether, and when I asked why they denied it before someone else came by and agreed and offered me $5 off the next time). They only ever smile and bother talking when its time for payment. The food is nothing special, the sauce has way too much turmeric, the brisket is dry and lanka flavour. I only like the outdoor seating.

I love this place! Food has always been outstanding. I have been many times and service has always been good. This is definitely one establishment that actually gives back to the community, in more ways than just the food they prepare.

Really good food, coffee, and service! I pass Humble Roots all the time and a friend suggested brunch so we paid a visit! It appeared busy on a Sunday at lunch, but there was plenty of parking, and indoor/outdoor seating. Our server was so attentive and we really enjoyed our experience and our meals! Had no issues having our hot coffee topped off, and the value for such good food was there! Highly recommended. Vegetarian options: Vegan and GF options

it s not bad however if I was around that area again I would probably try a different place. Staff was friendly and overall the place was clean enough, my problem was with the food I found the food to be just ok, I ordered a turkey sandwich and it was pretty thin and the prices were Downtown Vancouver prices!

Super interesting experience. Food was good but hostess was rather rude; seemed to want us to leave. Cups still had lipstick marks from previous patrons.

Kid-friendliness: Meal size plates for the little ones, vegan vegetarian etc. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp going up the side of the building to get to the side door. I was in Maple Ridge area for over a week and found this little gem. So many things to love that I ate there 3 times! The food, so much flavour in each bite, I had the vegan skillet (2x because it was so good) aphrodite bowl, their tea latte, dream bar and creme brulee donut. It was all phenomenal, especially the view across the street you could enjoy the amazing meal and watch the horses! The service, exquisite, Sue was so caring and gave great suggestions and she remembered all my orders I felt so welcomed and valued. Each time I entered the restaurant I knew I was going to have a great experience, I wish I could spend longer to try everything on the menu!

Super disappointing service. It s a sweet little place that s busy and I get it but the service is terrible. We sat and sat and didn t even get asked if we wanted coffee or tea and watched the server clean tables instead of taking our order. There wasn t even people waiting for a table. Disappointing.

Discovered this hidden gem on accident while looking for a washroom during a road trip. Great washrooms! And even better food. Good vegan options. They taste best if eaten fresh. Love this gem of a restaurant. Food is delicious; fresh & locally sourced; service & staff are wonderful. Canuck sandwich is the usual go to & their potatoes are mouthwatering morsels of heaven. Their homemade house ice tea is Chefs Kiss!

The atmosphere is amazing, I have yet to try the food. Catering to my sons school is a blessing. Very grateful for the friendly service and warm welcomes highly recommend this home felt establishment for even just a quick coffee and a lovely hello

Quaint spot in Maple Ridge offering very high quality culinary options. Their serving time is a little long however the quality is pretty high. Exceptional customer service and a warm inviting place to break the monotony of a cold day.

Cool little cafe off the beaten path in Maple ridge. A wide selection of choices on the menu for every taste and the cafe side with coffee and quick bites for people on the go. I recommend the pierogies and eggs, or try a Bennie for a real treat. Inside is nice and cozy, or dine on the patio in the spring and summer. Will be back for more. Update: still love this spot, its one of the recommended must visits for friends and family visiting in Maple Ridge. the BBKT (beef bacon, kale, tomato) sandwich is excellent, light but satisfying, and the have a latte called a maple mist, similar to a London fog that is just excellent. Thank goodness this place survived through COVID, a gem in the country.

Cozy little spot in the country side. Wide selection, every dish that came out looked super delicious! A bit on the expensive side but love the taste so definitely worth it. Friendly staff, would be great if the service was a bit faster. Definitely coming back for more! Hidden gem!

Stopped by for breakfast and enjoyed a great meal. They serve Hopcott farms organic meat, which is delicious! Mostly locally sourced and carefully dishes. Espresso coffee is highly popular and many people stop for coffee and and fresh baked goods. Unfortunately it was a cold day, 2 below, and they have an inadequate heating system so we had to stay bundled up. With no cushions on the seats we had rather chilled butts when we left, cold but satiated. Even the staff were bundled up to stay warm. Recommend if its a cold day you bring a cushion and a blanket to enjoy a good meal.

This is a late review and I do apologize but I love the Humble Roots Cafe! Its an excellent little spot where you can get a proper filling breakfast, excellent selection, and great prices. Their drinks are delicious and the people are really friendly! I like that a lot of the food is based off local fresh farms and the like. Love it!

Humble roots is a hidden gem in maple ridge, I ordered the Cheesy Mushroom Benny with Ponderosa mushrooms, cheese, wilted greens, roasted red peppers, coddled eggs & their signature cauli-holli sauce. So good, definitely in my top 5 bennys I ve ever had. Highly recommend this place!

Good Vibes, Excellent Service, Great Ambiance! We discovered this place by staying at an Airbnb close to it. The restaurant is on the edge of Maple Ridge and overlooks a ranch. The seating is mostly on the inside. We started with Rooibos tea and Apricot and Rose Kombucha. The tea and kombucha flavors were unique and something we hadnt tried before. We also added a tomato soup and a butternut squash soup for starters. Both soups were delicious but our favorite was butternut squash. For the main course, we were on a Benedict streak and ordered the same with Salmon and Mushrooms which come with a side of country potatoes. We also added the house made hot sauce for $1 extra. The bennyd were good and the hot sauce was not very hot and could have been skipped. Our friends ordered Vegan option Aphrodite Bowl with Tofu and Vegan option Farmers skillet. The Vegan dishes also got good reviews from our friends.

Ordered the perogies for breakfast (delivery). $20 but I figured they must be pretty good. The food here is generally tasty. I received THREE perogies for $20. That is just robbery. You ve lost a customer.

I went with a group of 3 for lunch and we were all so disappointed. The wait was extremely long and the food was at best, mediocre. I had the Beef brisket sandwich for $21 and there were only 3 tiny, 2 inch square pieces of very, very thin, dry, chewy pieces of meat. I thought it was bacon. There were a few very thinly sliced mushrooms, strands of cabbage, tiny pieces of cucumber, and a wee bit of onion on it too. The brioche bun was not and was steamed flat. My friends coffee had grounds in it and was cold. The waitress was nice but never appeared again until she brought the bill. None of us will return. Vegetarian options: I didnt have any

My husband and I went for brunch the other day and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Servings were generous and it was all very tasty. The espresso coffees were also well made. Being a warm day we sat outside on the rustic deck. Theres just about the same amount of room outside as inside! Very nice. Next time Im going to try some of their baking!

Food was delicious, we both got one of their breakfast sandwiches and hash browns. Both sandwiches were super good, tasted homemade from scratch. Service was a bit slower than we anticipated, but all in all really great.

We really enjoyed our meals at Humble Roots after finishing our hike at Golden Ears park. It was such a pleasure to find so many vegan options available to us. The yam fries were so big! The most delicious weve ever had. The workers were very kind. I would definitely visit again!

Dont order rhe ribs. Cold and dry. Potato wedges were tasty and rhe Cole slaw was very nice. My wifes pasta salad was kind of crunchy.

Ive been to several events where Humble Roots was catering and I cant recommend it enough. At a staff Christmas party, they made turkey lasagna (my young son loved it); I tried my first seitan (vegan chicken- it was so good!), as well as a rustic potato salad (best Ive had), and a house-made cranberry sauce...and more. Most recently, the restaurant hosted our staff BBQ there (see photo) and we all stuffed ourselves with smashburgers, potato wedges (good ones), BBQ chicken and ribs (so smokey!), coleslaw, pasta salad, macaroni & cheese...and finally, a vanilla latte with almond milk that was so damn well made I could hardly stand it. It was a great evening, with the outdoor setup contributing to the classy, but laid back vibes, while whatever playlist they had on put me right into that good good place. So, if youre looking for an intimate setting for a get-together, a delicious catered spread, or a meal thats got a soul, youll be well taken care of at Humble Roots. Thank you again to Ty, Jess, and their team for all the hard work and love they put into this community hot-spot!

NOT a gem We were appealed by the location and natural cosy look but the food was a disaster. How can you ruin a breakfast? By bringing burnt toast and an ancient bacon accompanied by a tiny cup of coffee. And for premium price.

Patio can get extremely sunny so try for a shady spot. Amazing coffee and cold drink selection even if you dont want to sit and eat. Love the vibe here.

Place was nice, close to Wild Play so thought to pop in for a spot of lunch. Had the Humble Salad (which was very humble as they had forgotten to put in the Feta ).

Excellent customer service. They hold their customers in high regards even if it is your first time visiting their place. They had ran out of the item we had ordered. They offered us a coupon for the next time and a free treat to apologize. A very nice local business.

Tyler and his team catered my wife and Is wedding this past weekend and we couldnt have asked for a better all around experience. From the food to the help with the bar and everything in between the Humble Roots team was outstanding and amazing to work with. Received tons of comments throughout the night claiming the food at our wedding was better than any wedding people had been to before. Thank you for making our special night even more amazing.

My husband & I found this hidden gem while visiting Maple Ridge for an appointment. The food was fantastic! We talked about it all day & on the drive home. He had the Turkey Bacon Club and I savoured the waffles with fruit compote and maple syrup. So yummy- we will be back!

You can readily tell that their dishes are prepared with care and fresh, local ingredients. This restaurant is a true local small business hero that highly deserves the continued support of the community. We also want to give high praise to the restaurant staff as they certainly have a sense of fun and service always comes with a smile - even when they are swamped! High five to Humble Roots!

Not sure if its because its Thanksgiving weekend.. but my table waited about 40 minutes for 2 breakfasts involving 4 eggs, hash browns, some baked beans, toast etc isnt most of this food prepped? The food was not hot , just warm. Food was bland.. toast hurt to bite due to hardness.. same with the hash browns. Cost to experience was subpar.. otherwise patio was nice, service was good.

Oct. 2023 - This cafe hosted an amazing Thanksgiving dinner that has been a tradition since its inception. The theme was gratitude. The owners supplied tasty food and drinks for staff and family and friends of staff. This historic site is so involved in the community of MR and its just always been an inspiration over the years watching it grow snd flourish. Anyone who gets the chance to work for a place like this is immediatly treated like family. The vibe is love and respect for all who are consumers and staff. Great work folks. Thank you for all that you do. It is appreciated so very much. See you again soon. May 2023-Mothers day. Had an amazing time with mother and wife who is also a mother and our family. The food and service was 5 stars. August 2020: 5 stars all round for safety, food quality, and service. This company catered our country wedding and they went over and above. Each food & desert item tantalized the taste buds before during and after each meal. This company also stayed in the mountains for 3 days cooking and serving our families for the duration of our event. The team was filled charisma, energy, and joy. We were surprised by 12 family members who arrived the following day after breakfast and lunch and after most guests were off on wine tasting tours. The team jumped back into customer service mode and started cooking again! They reincorperated a whole new menu and served the unexpected family that arrived. We did not ask this of them, they just took care of it! All they seemed to care about was allowing the bride and groom time to relax and enjoy their wedding. All they cared about was making each guest happy. They involved all the kids and even adults in making this wedding work in too many ways to explain. We are super greatful and thankful that Humble Roots Cafe catered our event. Food services from this company are driven by passion and love for their industry. You will not be disappointed. Dietary restrictions: These beautiful people care so much they go over and above for food allergies. I love them. Parking: Just park where you have to if its busy. Its a great community. In the back lot or in front is best. Kid-friendliness: We love how kid friendly this establishment is. Always welcoming kids and even dogs tied up outside. They have booster seats and high chairs available for use. A kids menu( best Ive seen) is also available. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a long wheel chair ramp to enter the deck and then can enter through 2 different entrances.

The service was great. They even made room for us to change our toddlers diaper in the washroom. The food took awhile which was a bit surprising since the dining area isnt very big. Perhaps they had a lot of delivery/pick up orders? Coffee was good, and food was okay, nothing to write home about. Cute little place.

We happened to be in Maple Ridge, were hangry and came upon this place. The place has a warm and welcoming vibe to it and the staff are very professional, easy going and friendly. We re vegans and boy was the food delicious. Loved the vegan skillet! Just wish we lived nearby so as to visit more often

Great service waitstaff was super on it, but its cold in there, no heat apparently and the food quality isnt worth the price. $$$

We were in maple ridge today and asked where a good brunch spot was...we were recommended Humble Roots. It did not dissapoint. The staff were lovely. Yummy coffee drinks and fabulous cho8ces of meals. Gluten free and Vegan options.. We will be back... Vegetarian options: Vegan choices too

the entire restaurant feels so warm and homey and everyone there is so caring and kind i highly recommend coming here for a brunch Vegetarian options: they have the best tasting vegan/vegatarian food i ve seen in a while

They have one of the best coffees I have had since I moved to Canada.

My first time going here. Went for my wifes Birthday. Excellent food, will definitely be back again!

Small and cozy restaurant with some delicious, wholesome, comfort food! I personally liked their dips. I tried beet hummus, edamame guacamole, and salmon dip - salmon was my personal favourite. The eggs Benny was also fantastic. The hollandaise sauce on the egg was very tasty and the dish gets a solid recommendation from me - but I think all choices on the menu are worth it!

This is one of those special little places that you hope to find on a road trip. Great food, great atmosphere,gluten free and vegan options. A gem.

Best sandwich ever, I had the chicken Garden Bravo sandwich. Sorry no picture but it was awesome! Came with a side of choice (not just fries)and I got a salad.

Best food in the area! Focussing on local and special diets, everything on the menu I ve tried is delicious. Excellent coffee and snacks, great patio, beautiful views.

My favourite place in Maple Ridge to eat. Farm fresh ingredients, absolutely worth the price! My family and I are long time happy customers. Some portion sizes are smaller than others but equally delicious. I had the spa breakfast pictured in the back and my partner had the hungry horseman shown in front.

Super friendly and fast service even on a busy day. Food quality looks great. A little expensive, but overall super positive.

Both the food and service were good but the outside table was dirty, not from previous diners, but from dust and pollution. I arrived during a busy lunch but that table must not have been wiped down after opening up in the morning.

Amazing food and staff

Good food, good prices, great service! This is a destination cafe, top of their category in the area. The validation is in how busy they are. We went at 2:40 in the afternoon and they were busy the whole 45 minutes we were there. And I really enjoyed the waffles and blueberries!

2022.08 some faces have changed, others remain. Wonderful friendly staff. Great food. Lots of local. Solid iced latte (great suggestion!) Good place will be back. 2021 Wanted the BBQ but sold out but thats just because its delicious. Had the big breakfast instead. Gotta love it when you can actually get soft scrambled eggs without having to make them yourself. Have been here a few times, and will keep going back. Delicious food and friendly people. Looked like a nice place. Food looked great I have to say. But I only got an americano. The americano was way too hot, which makes the coffee taste bad and id like to fill my own cream please. Not a good americano.

The food is always amazing and the staff are delightful. This truly is a hidden gem!

Parking: Parking on site can be tight during peak hours. But you can park on the street across from the cafe.

Great little diner with delicious local food. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian or vegan options. Dietary restrictions: Very conscientious of ingredients which makes it easy for my girlfriend that has to be careful.

I love every breakfast option served here! Very well made and cooked harsh browns. Waffles and Benedicts are cooked to perfection! Cafe can be very busy though during wkend brunch.

Very friendly staff! We were going for hike and stopped for breakfast! The friendly staff made our day even better, especially the lady with specs was so sweet. Even the cashier was so helpful and gave me really good suggestions for breakfast.

So delicious! Great mix of healthy options mixed with comfort brunch foods. Their signature cauliflower hollandaise sauce is so good. Highly recommend their benedicts and the spa breakfast with falafel added.

Firstly, the bbb brisket was delicious. Second, the service was efficient and courteous. Third, the environment was pleasant and cozy. 110% recommended!!!

Awesome service and food. We went for Breakfast last minute and were surprised at the quality of food. It is small and has a few tables so get there early! If you have to wait it is well worth it!

Came from New West and was not disappointed. SO YUMMY!!!
