Ordered the halibut burger and fries. Burger was good. Fries were great! Location on the river is very nice and the staff were all friendly and wonderful. Will definitely come back!
Beautiful sunset dining on the patio. One of the very few quiet places to enjoy a good dinner. I had chicken, brie and arugula sandwich on focaccia. Real chicken breast and not too much bread. With house side salad was perfect with house wine. Partner was happy as always with their fish & chips.
This was our first time dining at kingfishers, and likely our last. The wait time for food is definitely longer than it should be, perhaps they’re short staffed on bussers and kitchen staff. The chowder is very underwhelming and bland. The wings were decent. The oysters arrived not on ice but in a pool of water. They were replaced but as another diner review stated, they seemed slimy? I wouldn’t recommend getting oysters here. The burger tasted sort of good but it is thick and on the dry side. The fish and chips seemed to be the only dish that was enjoyed with no complaints. The service was really friendly and accommodating, I feel for the servers as the kitchen is clearly struggling to provide quality dishes.
OMG, I love this cafe. I visited this place with my partner in evening. Everything was so good. I love the ambience, food and drinks. Recommend to set outside in evening, sunset looks amazing. If you’re nonalcoholic and vegetarian you should try Blended cocktails peach flavour and Mediterranean falafel burger both are amazing. For alcoholic beverage we tried Corona bomb and original Bellini bomb and chicken wings. It taste so good. If you visit this place must try Corona bomb, chicken wings and their burger, they taste amazing.
Tonight at the Kingfishers was a major disappointment I haven't been since 2021 where I also had a terrible experience and have been holding onto a gift card since then not wanting to go back. Wanting a nice patio, which they do have, my bestie and I decided to give it a go. We made reservations at 6 which when we arrived our table was not ready. Instead of waiting we asked to sit at the bar because we only had 2 hours together. Getting to the bar we ordered a drink and ordered our food. Sharing 4 appies together. A few minutes after ordering we were told our table outside was ready but we needed to settle our entire bill, food which we haven't gotten and all. This is weird but just wanting to get to our table we did it. We got a waitress outside who asked if we wanted another drink. We ordered and mine came in a small glass even though I asked for a tall one. Not a big deal but slightly frustrating. Our food came and we had to ask for all of our cutlery and plates which were left at the bar but supposed to come with us My friend had never tried oysters before so I was excited to share them with her. The first one of mine I practically spit out because there was so much grit and shell in it. I put it aside and waited to tell our waitress. As I touched the second one I was going for it was slimey. I expressed my disappointment with her and she said she would talk to her manager. When she came back she said 2 more oysters were coming. They never came. The last oyster I went for had hair in it and more shell pieces. The mussels were fine except over cooked and very small. The salmon boats in endive were bitter and the bruschetta was mediocre. The waitress came back with a gift card to make up for it but I said no thank you I did not want another one because I would not be back again. We still had some food and drinks and she never came back just looked past us. The manager came and refunded me to try and make up for it but overall very unimpressed with the whole experience and I will never be back. Negative stars here
They have a veggie burger which is amazing to see. We rate it 8.5/10. The falafel patty and sauce is really nice but there is a weird dry after taste. But it’s still yummy and would recommend it. Much better than any beyond meat type products. Bellini 7/0. The ice is yummy but it’s at the top. The bottom tastes too alcoholy Very nice along the river outside
For a long time this restaurant was maligned and we did not go. Then we heard new management and went back and it was good. We decided to go back for a non transition time. The potato pave was spectacular and oysters were delicious. the chicken wings were overly salty and the chicken tenders were slightly dry but the salad was good. Service was excellent and the view is always good. The frozen mule was award winning and the margarita was kick arse. Beers and wine are solid and parking is ample. We will be back.
Great view, great service, fantastic food! The salmon trio was excellent, my sister loved her fish tacos, we both commented on how delightful the crab cakes were and the beignets and mousse desserts were sinfully wonderful! After lunch we lingered and worked from our table for a while and it was lovely! Was surprised it wasn’t busier considering what a great experience we had. Will definitely be back when I visit the area again!
Had a wedding reception here - food was phenomenal & service was on point. Cheers to the team for making it a memorable night!
Have been hosting our staff Christmas social there for 3 years now. My staff love it, food is delicious and fresh with great customer service. Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful time. We celebrated our 10 year anniversary. The food was delicious, and our server was amazing!
The service here was pretty good. Atmosphere is nice, but the food is a joke. I spent 170.00 for dinner and drinks for 2 and literally left hungry. Im in my 60s. I dont have a big appetite. I was not impressed.
We had a 5pm reservation and walked into an empty restaurant yet somehow waited 1 hour for any food, which was odd considering our first appy ordered was raw oysters. We ordered 3 different seafood items and all were fishy and had no flavor. We were very disappointed.
Used to be a favorite, but has been getting steadily worse over the last few years. Always too few wait staff, poor, slow service, lukewarm food. Reduced menu. This is strike 3, we will not return.
Music was too loud, though live singing was. good. Food was good and atmosphere was good.
We were taking some family members out for dinner and they suggested the Kingfisher. We had made a reservation and were seated immediately upon arrival. The hostess was very friendly as was our server. The menu is somewhat limited but the variety of interesting options is still quite good. We enjoyed the charcuterie and pork belly appetizers followed by an excellent tenderloin steak which was cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was good complemented by a guitar playing singer whose playlist was very enjoyable. All together us was an awesome experience and we will be going back. Parking: Only 1 handicapped spot is not enough.
Had the Chicken Tenders from the sharable section of the menu.It had 3 tenders ,each the size of my finger.I found these not value for money. Our service was great, but food left a lot to be desired.Because it was on the sharable part of menu my husband and I thought would be good to share. We left hungry.
We had an exceptional evening at the wine and food pairing event! The food was fantastic every dish reflected the chef s dedication and artistry in creating a memorable menu. Greg was a warm and attentive host, making sure everyone felt right at home in the relaxed, casual atmosphere. Steve s insights on the wines added a deeper layer of appreciation to each pairing. It was a wonderfully laid-back yet elevated experience that we d highly recommend!
Sunday Fun Day Amazing food and service, always feel at home here
Did not meet the hype. The view is stunning but the food was sub-par. Ceasar salad with very very little dressing and almost no taste. Honey garlic wings tasted like teriyaki. Coffee luke warm. Halibut burger and fries were okay.
Beautiful views of the river, and always delicious food!
A group of nine of us went for brunch yesterday. The service was poor and the food was worse. Not one person was happy with their dish. I had grilled chicken ceasar salad. It was chicken on a plain bowl of lettuce no dressing, had to order the dressing on side. This was not a cheap salad by any means. My 6 year old grandson wanted a grilled cheese sandwich. They said no changes to the menu. There was a grilled cheese with beef on the menu, take out the beef for heaven sake. My wife and daughter said their chicken strips were not bad. So 2 fair meals and 7 bad meals at our table. They were all out of many things. I wanted the loaded French toast but they were apparently out of bread for this dish (it was only 12:00). The egg Bennie s came on plain bread. I will never return to this over priced underwhelming eatery.
Great place to unwind with some colleagues after work or for celebrating a special occasion. Visiting from Edmonton and was very happy with our experience. Keep up the great work. Dietary restrictions: They have a GF menu. Unsure about cross contamination practices as none of us required GF.
Dient have a happy experience here.
Always delicious, awesome food at fair prices. The enclosed outdoor patio is great for when its rainy weather, but you still want to enjoy the waterfront view! On sunny days, having the patio wide open is even better! Great, long-time owners who are friendly with the locals and hire staff who do the same! We dined in, and my sister ordered 4 meals to go for her dinner with her family!
Great atmosphere and delicious food!
Was a great place to eat the live music wasnt good but overall recommend going
Waiter seemed distracted but friendly. Food was amazing! Slow service but polite. Nice guitar music during dinner.
The view is amazing, beer, fish and chips were just rigth, but the view is so nice and relaxing
I ve lived in maple ridge my whole life and I didn t even know about this place. My my I have been missing out! Great service, amazing fresh local food, priced perfectly. Highly recommend.
Great service and the food was delicious. Sat out on the patio with a fantastic view of the river.
The food here was flavourful but the wait time was brutal, even though the restaurant wasn t at full capacity. Once the mains came, my husband s tenderloin was missing the chimchurri sauce (it was listed on the menu), they said they ran out and promptly brought us a tomato salsa substitute. Still disappointed as it wasn t conveyed prior to ordering and we were really looking forward to it. My drinks were great and staff were friendly. Our total bill was a little over $170, my real rating would be closer to a 3.5 but the food was well prepared. I just hope they work on their wait times because we were so tired we left with most of our mains in a to-go box.
Overcooked burn t burger. Charged wrong amount. First and last time going there.
HORRENDOUS SERVICE. Booked a table for 6 with two babies under 6 months for Sunday afternoon and requested the patio. Arrived on time and were told we could not book the patio despite taking our booking. We were told we couldnt sit down elsewhere because once we sat down we couldnt move. So we could either stand and wait for a table on the patio or sit at the bar with two babies. Staff were rude and inflexible and the manager didnt even come over to apologise. He made one of the junior staff come and tell us to wait. Coward. After waiting for half an hour (too hard to get both babies in cars and drive somewhere else without a booking) we were finally able sit on the patio. This was all about tips. What they didnt realise is if you make customers unhappy there will be no tips. Good luck to them. Kid-friendliness: Not baby friendly
Was excited to try this place but was disappointed . Burger was overcooked I ordered kingfisher fry and except eggs and toast, everything else was subpar . Compared to the prices Food
Made it out to Kingfishers Waterfront Bar & Grill for the 1st time yesterday, and it was exceptional. My server, Ava, was extremely friendly and helpful and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the halibut burger with the kanaka salad. I will be back again.
Food was good and reasonably priced. They said they were short staffed but lunch ended up taking a long time.
Delicious food! specially the seafood crowder! Excellent service and gorgeous view
Nice place right near the water. Food was good. Service was ok. There were a lot of staff and not very busy but we were sitting for quite awhile before our order was taken. Maybe there were issues we didn t know about. We d go back again though.
Nice place and yummy food l like this place
Beautiful location but the prices for a pub were high. The quality of the food did not justify it.
for starters got the summer squash pakora says that it was spiced but it was super bland, really huge pieces so it was just filling. also got the salmon with gnocchi. sounded good but the gnocchi was fried? took away from the salmon and not the best gnocchi ive had. tiramisu had some lady fingers that were super hard but some were too soft. Loved the live music ! And the fish & chips!:)
Much improved from our last visit about a year or so ago. We really enjoyed the food, drinks and service.
Nice little restaurant bar on the river. Google oysters and fresh food selection.I would go again
Have been going here to dine in and do take outs for a couple years. Always tip regardless. All of a sudden today Im told I cant do a take out. Wait staff are like npcs who cant give an explanation. wth why would you drive away local regular customers? If I can get a logical reason as to why this is, I will change my review
Had such a fun evening. All the staff were very friendly. Our server Jeff was fabulous! Great drinks and great live blues. Will definitely come back.
Very welcoming atmosphere. Staff was very helpful and polite sorting out an issue with damaged gift card from my Mom. Fantastic food, great views of the Fraser River, and premium service. Special thanks to Greg and Felicia for their support and kindness.
Great place to go on a beautiful evening
What an amazing lunch experience my wife and I had here! We sat on the patio overlooking the water, great view. The fish and chips were to die for.... rockfish was perfectly cooked and just the right amount of crunch. My wife enjoyed her burger and was raving about on the way home! The staff was very efficient and super friendly! Highly recommend!
We had a staff function today. We were able to reserve the patio for approximately 35 people attending that came and went through a period of three hours. We enjoyed excellent service, amazing food and an incredible view of the Fraser River. Most of us enjoyed their wing special on Tuesdays and also their hummus platter regular menu. Both delicious! Cant say enough about how happy we were to choose this location for our staff event. Thank you Kingfishers!
Nice place. Right on the water. Easy to find and sufficient parking. We ate inside because the patio was full and very noisy, but nice atmosphere in or out. Food was good. Large booths for six people. Waitresses were very nice and provided good service.
Excellent food with a gorgeous view.
The restaurant is nice and the servers were good. The menu is a little limited, so I expected the food that was offered to be amazing and it was just okay. My food was bland, definitely needed more seasoning. It also took a long time to come out, about 45 minutes.
Great view of the Fraser from the balcony and dinning area. Kitchen makes good meal, servers are friendly and attentive
This was a 1st time to your pub and we enjoyed our visit. Our server Chad gave us some great food selections and beer choices. We had the grilled chicken and brie sandwich (it was awesome) and a wonderful IPA. It has been a long time since I have taken a bite of resteraunt food and was a great from the 1st bite. So compliments to your chef and our server Chad. We will recommend your place to family and friends, and we return as well.
My seafood pasta contained very little seafood... 1 shrimp, 1 scallop, 2 muscles and a couple small chunks of fish. For the cost of $31, I was very disappointed and felt ripped off. Basically I got a plate of rather bland pasta that youd buy off the kids menu. View was nice but feel this place is over priced and over rated.
Had to wait an hour for food, which was cold, and about the quality I would expect from Denny s. Never complained about service in my life until I experienced this place. Cute spot on the river though
Pretty disappointed. Took quite some time to get served while the restaurant wasn t busy. The server was nice and friendly. We ordered two appies and some drinks. The honey garlic wings were bland and missing salt. For $20 not worth it. The bruschetta was bland as well missing salt and pepper and the bread was soggy and felt like wet paper. Great views of the river. But disappointing food and in all honestly will not go back. Too bad for Maple Ridge because there aren t many options to go and eat with a nice patio
Took my picky fiancé who is impossible to please lol and the verdict was an absolute success on our Saturday afternoon. Staff was very hospitable, the food was fresh and delicious. 10/10 recommend for a bite by the water.
Waterfront pub on the Fraser River. Approximately where the old Albion Ferry used to dock. Beautiful views. Nice menu with something for everyone. Fish and chips highly recommended.
Only put 4 stars in Atmosphere because they don t have hitters in the patio section we sit down, but wasn t a big deal. Everything else was incredible yummy, well served, fast and very well plated.
I was served by Stacey and she was so great! I was eating alone and she was so friendly to me - I really enjoyed my time there. I will be back!!
Came here with my family for brunch/lunch. Got the eggy benedict with back bacon, and tomate bruschetta. Service was good, the lady was nice, the food was good, loved the eggys and the bacon, and the potates and side salad. The bruschetta was REALLY good, probably best bruschetta Ive had, the tomatoes were so juicy and fresh tasting. I really feel like this place should be busier for the kind of food it has.
The just introduced a GF menu which was appreciated! I had their lettuce wrapped burger with a side salad that was yummy! Dietary restrictions: Gluten friendly
Very nice place with a great view and super tasty food. I highly recommend it!
Kingfisher is back! Loved this place, then didnt like it, now love it again. Service has always been great but the food dropped off a bit. Seems like they righted the ship. Butcher burger was great. Pumpkin seed gnocchi was unreal even though I wasnt sure how that would be...but would do again! Would like to see more variety on their tap list (lots of stouts and sours) but overall Im happy to go back.
We came for a birthday dinner and had a table on the patio. Our server was amazing. We really enjoyed the patio and the beautiful sunset over the river. Food however was quite disappointing. Fish and chips- pretty standard 7/10, steak - ok but not great for the price 5/10, burger and yam fries - good enough 7/10, tuna poke bowl - 0/10 3 people at the table ordered the poke bowl. The rice was extremely stale, the tuna tasted like it was marinated for 10 seconds, the dish had no flavour. Overall their tuna poke is the worst poke bowl we ve ever had. We asked for extra marinade and sriracha sauce to make it somewhat palatable because we were hungry. I told the server that the rice was old and stale and overall the poke bowls were extremely disappointing. We ended up asking for extra fish and chips because poke bowls were so bad we couldn t finish them. We were disappointed the restaurant didn t offer the extra meal free or didn t take the poke bowls off the bill. Unfortunately 3 guests including the birthday guest left very disappointed.
Good food, great service. Sat outside on the river.
Beautiful patio & great food!
Very disappointed. Thought it would be alot better. Was my first time and my last time going there.
Overall sub-par experience, starting with the server who said a total of 5 words. We sat there waiting for her to take our order for a long time, and ended up getting our food over an hour later. The food tasted ok/good, but was not worth the price tag. Not much concern or menu info regarding allergies either. It was also very loud, with a great live band. almost too loud to talk, but it was a Friday night so I get it. The server really brought it all down and made the experience super weird. Didnt even get her name.
Excellent Saturday night, delicious food and music super!!! I recommend visiting it.
The BELLINI. Omg. I dont need to say any more! I mean... other than the music which was actually too loud and we preferred to sit outside in the cold than come and in and not be able to talk. Dont get me wrong, the music and awesome and that nice was Bob Marley reggae covers, BUT it was not chat-over-dinner-and-drinks volume.
Had the best lunch! Stacy was our server and she made our experience so great! She was super attentive to my elderly mother who is kind of high maintenance, which was appreciated. She did it all with a smile! We will be back to see Stacy!
Great food and kind service
Went for a morning brunch and what an excellent experience it was. Attentive service, good coffee, stunning view, delicious food & overall fabulous company. I look forward to trying out lunch and dinner in the future!
A beautiful location on the banks of the Fraser River in Albion, Maple Ridge. BC. Food is Pub Fare.
second time there. had the butcher burger. it was underwhelming. I guess for 25 dollars I expected more. Bun was similar to a store bought processed hamburger bun. the patty was dry and small. the only redeeming thing on it was the bacon Jam. service was good but extremely slow. I ve had better burgers at Red Robin or White spot for less.
My husband and I were at Kingfisher on Valentines Day. The atmosphere is always nice there.but the waitress was all over the map. It wasn t busy. We were there without reservations at 6:30 and didn t have to wait for a table. There was a set menu that night with a few Ala carte options I asked the waitress if either of the desserts could be substituted from the set menu as I had dietary restrictions with both ( one had chocolate and the other had hazelnuts). I also asked if the wine pairing menu could swap the red for either white or rose as I can t have red wine either. After speaking with the kitchen she came back and said no to both questions I asked for a glass of house white and asked what it was. She said she had to go check in the kitchen When she returned she said Chaberton. I asked what blend? She said she had to check with the kitchen She came back and said Merlot, cab sav, and I stopped her there saying those were reds remember I can t have red wine. She said, it s so hard memorizing the new menu for tonight and all and it s so busy ( there were empty tables). She came back with the right information and I ordered it. We ordered Ala carte and had the half chicken and the pork tenderloin. Both tasty, but my husband ended up with a inch long sliver in his mouth from one of the skewers in the tenderloin When the waitress asked how the meal was, we showed her, and she said she d show the kitchen, when she came back, she said yeah, it s just a piece off the skewer, and while walking away said you can order anything else and I ll get it to you for free We finished our meal, she came back and asked if we wanted dessert. I reminded her that I couldn t have either. I asked if there was any substitute available she went to the kitchen, came back and said I could have the profiteroles to which I reminded her that I can t have hazelnuts she said well they can just leave them off. For nut allergies this is a concern for cross contamination I was an unfortunate event that she didn t ask anyone else ( chef or manager) to come speak with us, neither was anything compt on the bill
Excellent atmosphere, great staff & food. All 3 meals were delicious and mostly Marley rocked! Definitely going back!
Im updating my previous review and adding some stars after my experience at the Fish tonight. (Mar. 8/24) After pre-perusing the menu online, Id decided on the Arctic Char (a fish dish well-suited to my cholesterol count) that was accompanied by sun choke, which I had to google, and which is a root vegetable that looks like ginger but has a sweet, mild, nutty taste. It sounded like a great alternative to potato, which I cant eat anymore due to my arthritis (I know, kill me now!). When I arrived, the place was packed, being a Friday night (reservations recommended), but I was happily seated at the end of the bar in full view of the delightful bluesy band Poor Boy Trio. I asked the manager Greg, who knowledgeably heads the Wine Club dinners there what would pair well with the char. He suggested the pinot noir which was bang on. The sun choke came in three forms, as a potato might, except for the sauce - similar to a hash brown, crispy chip, and the secret sauce. Greg told me they grow it onsite. The portion size of the char, which was cooked perfectly (almost, sorry, but it was advertised as crispy skin, which wasnt quite the case until the last corner bite but still delicious) was satisfying. The tasty meal, wine, and a few happy encounters with friends and acquaintances provided a wonderful evening. I also want to mention that the service from the kitchen seems to have improved remarkably and my meal arrived much sooner than expected. Overall, great evening. Thanks to all staff!
first time to this pub and grill, very friendly staff and well dressed, nice layout inside and out, must be nice views in summer on patio, positive and friendly ambiance, not too loud or noisy can converse normally, nice menu choices and wine , service had couple hiccups but they were rectified immediately so meal was going great until a large table was set beside us with kids under 6, poss party and another behind us with kids also. thought if a pub served liquor minors werent allowed? so the quiet adult time went away. will be back hopefully in better weather and without the kids around.
My husband + I went for dinner with my in-laws at Kingfisher Pub this weekend. The food is wonderful, though dishes seem quite expensive (which I guess is a reflection of all costs in BC skyrocketing these days but I digress.) As I said, the food was delicious. I started with the butternut squash soup (which needed just a touch more salt for my palette) and then had the chicken + brie sandwich, which was delicious I also enjoyed a few Moscow Mules; while the first was very watered down, I asked for easy ice on the next 2 and they were much better. My husband is Celiac, and our server was very helpful + attentive to that dietary restriction, but there was a hiccup at dessert. We asked if the orange chocolate mousse was/could be made GF, and the server told us it could. Yet when the plate was brought out, I was certain there was a cookie crumble all over it. I asked 2 servers to confirm (the answer of the first server who brought us the dish just didnt make sense to me), and finally our primary server realized + confirmed the mistake. Thankfully, I had stopped my husband from eating any of the dessert until we could determine what the crumble was. The manager came out to personally apologize and express her relief that my husband hadnt eaten any gluten, and went so far as to comp not only our dessert (which I enjoyed, although my husband couldnt) but also the first round of drinks for our party. I would like to hope that this near-miss incident encourages a staff-wide review of ingredients + practices for all dishes just to ensure that someone less diligent isnt accidentally poisoned in future. The response + accountability demonstrated by the manager means that we will be happy to go back and try again, hopefully with zero issues next time Vegetarian options: Some good options Dietary restrictions: Only a couple of GF options; perhaps stick to items specifically marked as GF in order to avoid any potential issues, and definitely communicate if you are Celiac to ensure extra precautions are taken.
Dont let the harsh exterior fool you! The interior is lovely, and this is by far THE BEST tasting brunch I have had in perhaps a decade, maybe more. Service is efficient & friendly, atmosphere is impeccable with live music at the perfect volume. And the view over the river cant be beat. I just found my new favourite spot!!!!
The server was lovely, but I am sorry the food is bad, cabbage big un-eatable hunks on the cod burger and the fish tacos and to much mayo sauce, tiny little pieces of fish on the tacos that you could not taste at all! The salad my Son had looked good but I couldnt tell you if it was or not. And the bill, was almost $175.00,had no alcohol, just coffee and ice teas.
My chicken and brie sandwich was AMAZING! Wheelchair accessibility: Theres a wheelchair lift Food : 5/5 |
Superb experience everytime we visited, the food is incredible and the service is great and super friendly ownership.
First time I went there, about a year ago the food was amazing. Most recently it took 45 minutes to get our meal. Was still tasty though :)
We visited Kingfishers for a brunch with friends to enjoy the great setting by the river. The setting did not disappoint with a good view of the river along with a very clean and nicely designed dining area. The server was extremely pleasant and attentive which made the general experience very enjoyable. Unfortunately we were not as enamoured by the food. The schnitzel and chicken sliders were over cooked and dry with very little gravy and sauce. So much so one would expect that the chef not allow it to be served. I will say the fries were tasty though. Overall a nice place but prices seem on the high side for quality of food.
The food is good, not spectacular, the view of the Fraser River is amazing. The servers have both times been great but we ordered mixed drinks on two separate occasions and the pop was flat both times. Two different mixed drinks. Flat ginger ale and flat tonic water. The bar sure doesn t seem to take pride in what they serve. Maybe pay attention to the small details
Went for Valentines Day dinner had a reservation and our reservation was early the place was half empty when we arrived we were seated at a small table and asked for a booth as many were empty they said no and then they co tinued to sit people at the booths I made our reservation weeks ago felt very neglected by staff .
Great special go to place with terrific staff and good food .
Always enjoy going to the Fish manager Greg is always awesome and our server Olivia is so amazing fun attentive, even when she s not officially our server. The atmosphere, live music and decor is wonderful. Highly recommend
We reserved a specific table for a special brunch, but when we arrived theyd already seated someone else there. Not a great start. They did not have any dairy substitutes for coffee (What year is this? Who doesnt at least have almond milk?) and, while their menu indicated they had allergy-friendly options, it was unclear and confusing. It wasnt very busy and there were several servers, but it took quite a while for our food to come and, when it did, the two of us whod ordered eggs benny found it was cold. The eggs were poached perfectly but my smoked salmon was hard in places and I wonder if it was microwaved. I thought the prices were reasonable, but only if the food is worth it. Also, the music was cranked and we couldnt really have a conversation - a little too clubby for Sunday brunch. Our server was great and knew her stuff, but even she couldnt save this one. Dietary restrictions: Very limited. Wheelchair accessibility: They have an elevator.
I was there for a first time and really like the food, very clean Place and super view Food
Beautiful place just super slow service and food was good but took way too long
Such an amazing New Years celebration! It was very busy and Mekenna our server did a fantastic job serving our group. Food was great! Will come back!
Dined here for a family dinner on a Saturday night. The restaurant got busy very quickly after 530pm. I really liked the layout and vibe of the restaurant. The food did take a little long but tasted great overall. Highly recommend the Short-Rib if its still available. Good service. I definitely wouldnt mind coming back.
This place has delicious food and drinks. I had mac and cheese with a Caesar salad. Great flavour with fresh ingredients. Its located right on the river so theres a nice view.
Went there fri evening food and services was excellent will be back thanks all john jackie
The food, the ambience beside the river, great, friendly staff.
The menu is more bistro than bar or grill. Had fish taco appetizer. It was good but lacked wow. Could have used a little more slaw and acid to cut the fried fish grease but good. Sister had the beef brisket sandwich which was more of a corned beef style brisket. Not what she expected and very rich. Also needed more slaw and acid to cut through it. Beignets were served hot but were heavy and the fruit compote needed to be sweeter. Wish they had more traditional pub grub but food was adequate. Service was very good. Will try again one day. Doors not open until noon.
Expensive 18 bucks for a glass of wine? Terrible service. Food was meh.
The food, service and atmosphere were good!! The view of the Fraser River is wonderful! Only wished they opened a little earlier than noon. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a outside elevator for the disabled. Lots of room to maneuver.
First time trying this place. Giving 2 stars for the location. The food not so much! Ordered the salmon entree. Had absolutely no flavour or seasoning. It was in a soup of sauce with chopped up green onion and burnt and straw like asparagus and the mashed potatoes tasted like they were from a box. Also the salmon had the skin on I was so hungry I just ate it. Let s just say In the middle of night I was extremely sick. The cost of the food to the quality is not worth it! If you go here just get pub food and drinks. Attention chef this is terrible!
over priced small size 6 prawn that were shrimp siz for $30
Went for the first time this past weekend and were pleasantly surprised with the beautiful waterfront patio, drink selection (especially the craft beer options), food options (we both had the schnitzel), and the fact that they had live music! Craft beer was pricier than at other places ($20 for 2 pints). There was a bit of a wait for seating outside on the patio but staff were great and it was worth the wait. Our server (Olivia?) In particular was great. I didnt see the reggae band on the calendar any other months this year but would go there again to see them! Hopefully they will do more shows! Only downside is that I found the outside chairs uncomfortable if you have larger hips (I am a size 14-16 for reference). I wish there were some alternative types of chairs or even a cushion so the chair didnt dig into me.
Love this place!
Excellent place for food and liquor
It s just that the waiter is pretty good-looking, right?
We came from ontario with our family had an amazing lunch great service Jill was extremely accommodating. As well as her support staff. Drinks were amazing as well Parking: Plenty
Over priced. We ordered the mussels of which the menu said a half of pound. We received 5 mussels in total and waited an hour for the food.
Very good food and cocktails at Kingfishers. Excellent service from Jeff too. We enjoyed the adults deck area and a lovely river view.
The experience of eating with a view of the water was fantastic. The food was above average.
Just a stopover in the late afternoon by the River. We had the chicken sliders, fries and salad. Always enjoyable and something g to eat for everyone. Service very good!
Great views, OK menu. As a big bird fan, I did notice that the kingfisher on the menu is the common kingfisher from africa/Europe and not our native Belted Kingfisher, which is actually a cooler looking bird
Loud, piss poor and always disappointed when we go. Service sucks
Love this place, great patio overlooking the Fraser River. Great food and service. A bit expensive, but so are all good places. Would recommend.
Friendly staff, pretty good food, river view. A gem. Kid-friendliness: Lots of kids there, in small family groups, last time I visited. Recommended dishes Seafood Linguini, Bellini Bomb Parking space
We had a party of 9 who attended the Maverick Wine and Food pairing last night. We had a wonderful evening and got to enjoy both delicious food and really nice wines. For medical reasons I have been strictly vegan for 6 years and have the added issue of not being able to use any oils. Chef Mika pulled out every stop to ensure that I could also enjoy the evening, by creating dishes especially for my needs. I was really impressed by his creativity and would highly recommend him and the Kingfisher for anyone who has specific dietary needs but who still wants to enjoy a lovely evening dining out. Greg, the owner was super attentive and brought out and poured the wine for each course. The various wines were presented by a Maverick wines representative and Chef Mika came out at the end to discuss the dishes with us. The table was beautifully laid with white napery and the affect was very appealing. Well done to the Kingfisher Team. We look forward to next month!
Went for lunch, skimmed over the menu and closed it right away... very very pricey! Friendly service. Finished our drink and went somewhere else.
Service was fantastic Very attentive server Food was served quickly The appetizers were excellent Salad and beet hummus Schnitzel was cooked as my husband preferred and served hot My fish and chips well the fish was delicious the batter was excellent the chips were old, not fresh and not hot disappointing Entertainment excellent I would have said 5 out 5 but for the chips
Nice water view patio good food and wine tasting dinners
It has been several years since I visited this location, but it wont be several more until I am back. We were seated on the patio right at the glass overlooking the river. Our server was attentive without being over-bearing and happily shot a pic of the two of us. I enjoyed my chicken and brie sandwich on foccacia, and my friend liked her bowl. The pinot gris wine was delicious, too. What a perfect day to sit and enjoy the view.
The food was tasty.. the shrimp tacos were my favorite out of everything we ordered... We ordered ceviche also as 1 of our appetizers.. and it was not good at all.. the color was terrible..ceviche is quite a colorful dish at most.... the prawns were pale and slimey and very, very fishy. It was sent back and re- ordered more fish tacos.. they were sold out of mussels, which was a bit disappointing.. the fish and chips were pretty good andddd.. i ordered a salad.. just a basic garden salsd i think with vinnagrette cant remeber the name, but it was literally jsit Lettuce, llamd soggy wilted lettice at that lol.. i had to take it to go, so i never saw it while I was there. Otherwise, that would have been sent back. Also, the waitress was pretty snotty at the beginning.. but then seemed to be ALOT nicer half way thru our time there... we sat outside, which overlooks the river.. Its a really nice and relaxing space... idk id give it another chance just because of the scenery , the bellinis, annnddd the tacosss.
This place has so much potential, but misses the mark. Our latest visit, the live music, although really good, was far too loud. We couldn t hold a conversation. Turn the volume down and it would have been great. The service was great; no complaints. The food was meh. A $49 medium rare steak shouldn t be dry. I really should have sent it back but I was too hungry and too irritated with the loud music. The shrimp gnocchi ($33) had an overpowering shrimp/fishy taste. My wife ordered an alcoholic drink but she couldn t taste any of the alcohol. I tried it and I couldn t either. For $10+ drink, you should taste some alcohol. Beyond the loud music, the restaurant has a great atmosphere. It s clean and had a picturesque view of the Fraser River. The restaurant could be SO much better if the food was better.
Great spot! Amazing view of the river. I had the fish and chips, which was great. Good helping of fries. Wife had the salmon which we were told is locally caught in the river right outside. It was excellent. Sundae for dessert had ice cream made in house. Cherise was our waitress, she was really pleasant and informed us about the live band during the week. We will definitely be back! Parking: Lots of parking, few spots in the shade as well.
The food is excellent. The scenery is wonderful. Maybe make a reservation at busy times. Staff is friendly. Well go there many more times.
A lovely waterfront atmosphere for a restaurant when in Maple Ridge - you would never guess from the road! I highly recommend the patio, theres plenty of space.
I have known about Kingfisher for years but went for the first time following the encouragement from a friend and I m glad I did. The food is severely underrated; everything was exceptional especially the desserts which were made from scratch including even the ice cream. Small details like the mashed potato was executed exceptionally well. Kudos to their chef. The cocktails were great also. I would come here anytime of the year just for the food but the riverside view was especially lovely this summer evening. Kid-friendliness: My 14 year old daughter was welcome so they are not 19+
Always a treat at this place, yum yum....never disappointed.
Nice spot on the river, we sat on the deck . We enjoyed their special of the night, delicious and filling. Our server Noa was kind, calm and gracious Food
Unfortunately my first experience was not a good one. Our server was inattentive, and the food took way too long to come out and two people of our party were served raw chicken wings. As side from that it is a beautiful spot in the river... If I go back next time it will be for the view.
Very disappointed. Bad service, very small menu and most of it - seafood. We asked for a couple seafood dishes and they did not have them. We ordered kale salad with chicken - shredded kale with lots of cheese , no dressing and rubery cold chicken, chicken sliders cold chicken. The waitress was checking the table every 5 min and the food took more than 30 min and it was not rush hour. We arrived there around 4 pm. No coming back. Expensive, bad food and service.
Definitely has fallen from what it used to be; watered down drinks and at best, subpar wait staff. Recently as a family, myself, fiance, parents and grandparents dinned in for a meal only to have our waitress spend the entire time ignoring our senior grandparents while simultaneously chewing gum with, yes her mouth wide open the entire time. Despite being sat in a booth having us all face forward, the waitress still managed to keep her back to our grandparents the entire time she took our orders and only addressed them when we had to blatantly point it out that she ignored their comments/concerns regarding the menu and its choices. I genuinely felt ashamed for our grandparents at the little regard the waitress bothered to muster.
Excellent food, helpings were a little small for the price. Music a little to loud, but we re over 50
A cute place, good food, usually lovely servers :)
Absolutely love the place. Nice little unassuming bar on the side of the river with great food, great service and great views.
Gave this place another go. Told to wait for an empty bar. Then, served sugar instead of salt on a margarita rim and waited 20 minutes for service. This spot has so much potential, but as someone who worked in hospitality for 20 years, no toilet paper in the either washroom was enough for us. And we tipped 20% on a 200$ tab because that s who we are but regretted it later. Not a good feeling. Resting B face is still there. Killin it. Literally
absolutely horrible service. waited 30 minutes for four drinks, three alcoholic and one apple juice for my two year old niece. not only did we wait 30 minutes, instead of an apple juice, they brought A BOURBON AND SODA FOR A TWO YEAR OLD. no apologies from staff, and when we asked to speak to a manager, they did not come. would ve reported to legal authorities if we knew how. legitimately a crime, do not go here. Kid-friendliness: absolutely not kid friendly, they served a two year old a bourbon soda instead of an apple juice
First time there and had a great experience
Great view!! Staff!! Good was just ok, thats all.
It is a great place on the Fraser river to sit and enjoy not only some delicious food but a Picturesque view. Parking: There is free parking right next to the restaurant.
I really like the fries! I had Rouladen which was ! Great service. Live music. Perfect evening! Wheelchair accessibility: A patron in a wheelchair arrived during the night.
Food was great and our server was fantastic!
Wonderful food, bit small with the serving sizes with the muscles but the burgers are amazing.
Great place for get together
Great food with a good view of the water. Their team was quite accommodating for our large group showing up unexpectedly. Gladly go there again.
For our private function you and your team absolutely exceeded expectations!! Every single one of our guests were blown away with the outstanding food and service!!!
gorgeous views of water, open/expansive space, great service and my steak was perfectly done.
Food was really good, and the service was really friendly. And the view here is amazing on the patio, right on the water.
I wouldn t rush back!!!!!
Always an awesome place for an awesome meal and an awesome atmosphere!!
Not a big selection of food on the menu however the atmosphere and service was great!
Pleasant, yet informal pub, with an extensive menu, tasty food, great service, and entertainment, at a reasonable price.
Someone mentioned pricy. Maybe but you also pay more renting an ocenview flat, so the choice is yours.
Enjoyed a Seafood Sunday with my daughter - Oct 29/23 Oysters, mussels and crabcakes were all fresh and tasty. Our server was a seasoned professional adding to the experience. Views of the Fraser River from the enclosed outdoor patio topped off our reservation.
We have been here before and as for the picture included here We enjoyed the patio on a warm evening... And everything was good although the food was not spectacular , so we decided to invite our friends to meet us there for Dinner on Thursday Nov. 2nd. and had a horrible and embarrassing experience with the so-called manager. Or at least he called himself that .... there was a female singer and the music was so loud when she sang that we could not talk to each other at all, not even for 5 seconds, so we asked the waitress if she could. Please ask the singer to turn the volume down a little bit. The waitress agreed that it was very loud. And she would ask her. However, when the volume was not turned down, I simply assumed that the waitress had not had the chance to ask her.... So I when up to the singer myself in between songs and politely asked her if there was any chance that she could turn the volume down a little bit as we were now sitting as far as we could from the stage after trying 2 other tables and we still were unable to have a conversation with our friends. She did say that she had it as low as he could go to be able to be heard etcetera so I simply went back to my table and to our surprise about 5 minutes later, and before we even had a chance to order dinner, a little man came to our table with his hands-on his hips asking us what the problem was and that he had been told that we had a problem with the music, we told him that the problem was not the music itself, It was simply that it was very loud. And so we had simply asked the singer to turn it down a little, so he replied very rudely.... who do you think you are? You are not gonna tell me how to run my room.!!! and told us that we had upset the singer ... so we simply told him that if he would prefer, we could simply leave if the music was not going to be turned down at all, and he told us that... Yeah, if you wanna leave, thats okay with me. And so we left ... terrible experience. Incredibly poor management and people skills and We also canceled a future reservation that we had the following week with other friends. And yeah, luckily enough, we went to the Black Sheep. Which is a beautiful place in Maple Ridge and had a fantastic dinner with our friends in a beautiful atmosphere. With exquisite service! So, needless to say that well never be back to such a dive as the Kingfishers seems to be . It is unfortunate , as we had previously liked it. But this manager has ruined the experience for us and this is pretty much descriptive of what you could expect when you go there.
This Place is Awesome. Best place to chill and listen to Music. Nette plays there alot. She is Awesome make sure you go when she playing.
Good food, good atmosphere and the best music!
Great food, great people. Entertainment is top-notch and Nette is a rare gem! Talent, beauty and generosity! A great date night <3
Great venue, great views! Love the food/ drinks and the staff is always attentive. Love the live music! Especially when you have Nette perform. Keep up the good work Kingfishers!
Great place to eat, have some drinks!! Staff is amazing! And the view! Make sure to go when Nette is performing such an amazing musician makes the entire experience a must!! Do not pay attention to the review from Lola a lot of us were there that night and she was just incredibly rude to Nette and to the staff.
Good atmosphere planes where loud but added to experience
Great breakfast today! Simple, well made and reasonably priced. Lots of other options but classic breakfast with coffee was perfect. Lovely efficient service
Food USED TO BE so good. Its overpriced and bland. Such a shame its gone downhill. Service was rushed and in a bad mood (maybe overworked?) Inside is dark..no atmosphere but outside is great for riverview.
Do yourself a favour and visit this lovely restaurant with a beautiful Fraser River view setting. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food created by Chef Mika is amazing. Our party of 3 tried the newly added three-course Christmas dinner feature. Love the Kingfishers Waterfront Bar & Grill and will continue to visit.
The fish and chips were crispy and tasty. The portions were on the small side. It was cold inside.
