Mt Everest 8848 in Maple Ridge

Conflicted review. I put in an order online which didnt go through when I went to pick it up(Ive ordered online twice before and worked) I put in the order there and waited the 25 minutes and got home with the order wrong which they gave rice instead of roti. Called them multiple times within 15 minutes with no answer and gave up. Dont know if I caught it on a bad day but momos are good

First time trying Nepalese food. Insanely tasty. Lots of spice & flavour. Chili prawn, mixed veggie chowmein & momos (jhol vegetable & steamed chicken).

Didnt like it. My husband ordered Tawa Chicken (too spicy) and I ordered the House Special Chowmein (lots of noodles with very few meat or vegetables)

We ate here when it first opened and still talk about it to this day. It is some of the best food we have ever had in our well traveled lives. I think every table surrounding us said oh my god after their first bites. A must eat!!

We tried this place for my birthday dinner, as a take out. Portions and price were good but it was way too spicy. The medium spice any other restaurant is very much handle able but their medium spice level felt high end to my whole family.

Portion sizes are insane. One order of Chow Mein will feed you for 3 days, easily. Some of the best bang for your buck around town. So flavorful. Agreed that you should be careful with your spice requests, but as an avid spicy eater, this does it for me.

EDIT: We had revisited this place after last bad experience. Everything this time was fantastic. It was super busy Friday but food was quickly on the table. Our favourite server was back. Service was at its excellent as usual. Server was running around alone, asking everybody about their food, refiling water glasses and more. Will be back soon! Thank you and keep up the good work! This is the second time we visited and wont be the last since we like food. Server was slow, very hard to explain her what we want, was very nervous and didn t even have clear tone of voice at all. We waited 5-7 minutes just refill our water glasses. We weren t asked if we needed anything extra and was not even too busy. We hope this is last time we had this bad service. We prefer the guy server who was knowledgeable, fast, friendly and super attentive.

They make very delicious food. I tried many types of momo, all were delicious super yummy. Chilli chicken, chowmein and thumps soup I ll say everything is super yummy food here very good service and employees are so good and very polite. I really like to come to eat here. Vegetarian options: I tried only Vege momo, vegetable chowmein, shahi paneer, gol gappe and vege thukpa. And chef makes super yummy. Must try more napalese food.

I love the food here. I tried it for the first time one month ago and I ve been back twice since. The food can be made to order as spicy or as mild as you like. The portions are generous and tasty. Something different in Maple Ridge to try. The owner is also very nice as well.

Insanely good. My roommates and I ordered takeout and got the chicken fried rice, lamb rogan josh, chicken momos, and the tawa chicken. All of it tasted so good, everything is jam packed with flavor. Lamb rogan josh is my go-to dish whenever I order Indian cuisine and this is probably the best Ive tasted in the lower mainland. Super flavorful and rich. The Momos are so juicy - I definitely want to try the other filling flavors next time. The fried rice was also on point. Ive never had nepalese cuisine before, but the tawa chicken is delicious - got a little bit of that numbing feeling from the szechuan peppercorns that I really enjoy. Comes with a wedge of lime and you really cant go wrong with it. Well definitely be ordering here again, its completely worth it.

The lunch special menu is great here, I had the butter chicken, roti, and steamed rice. The lamb curry and momo dumplings are also fantastic and the prices are very fair! I would highly recommend if you re feeling Indian/Napolese/Chinese food whether it s lunch or dinner time :)

I ordered takeout. The food was terrible. The chowmein was overcooked and had beef which wasnt stated in the menu for the item I ordered. The chicken momos were suspiciously like the kind you can buy frozen at any store. 100% sure this is the right location. I ordered the house special chowmein. Now Im really concerned that what I ate was not beef. It certainly was not chicken.

We went there today and had the chicken choila, the curry chicken, and the fish pakora. All I can say is that in 10 years living in Vancouver, this was the most delicious meal we had. Absolutely perfect.

My wife and I have recently discovered Nepalese food in our lives, which brought us to this place we love their food so much we re planning a trip to Nepal. First, the gentleman served is a very kind, helpful person, gave us some suggestions of what to try as we get acquainted with Nepali food, and was especially helpful with navigating the dietary needs of my elderly mother when we brought her in to try it. Second, the FOOD. The chow mein is delicious, and comes in extremely generous portions. Their butter sauce (like butter chicken) might be the best I ve ever had especially when poured all over their amazing MOMOS. Omg, their momos. We ve tried the Butter Chicken, Chilli Chicken and Jhol Chicken momos, and they are my favourite things ever. This is a great little unassuming restaurant, you can tell they re passionate about the food and culture of their home country, and the complexity of the flavours should appeal to even the most critical foodies. This is a must-try spot. Can t wait to come back again!

This place is fantastic. My family has ordered take out from here several times and everybody has loved it. The Chilli Chicken Momos and the Chicken Choila were instant favorites for us. Overall, the taste of the food is great, the portion sizes are large and the prices are very reasonable. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

Just discovered this little gem, and all I can say is WOW! We had the butter chicken deep fried momos, the chili chicken deep fried momos, and the chicken chow mein. All 3 were amazing, and the servings were huge! The butter sauce was some of the best ive ever tried. The server was very kind, he was alone and busy and still gave great service.

Was just in yesterday evening with friends. As a couple of friends who were with me have been there before and mentioned how amazing it was. Friend of ours since Elementary School was in town so we got together at Mt. Everest. All we can say is we were ALL blown away at how amazing all the food was that we had ( and it was lots ) we ate it all ( no take home lol ). Forgot to take pictures of the first part as we were just to excited I suppose. But amazing simply amazing delicious food. Simply DONT hesitate to have dinner here. Also noticed lots of pick up orders and take out as well...

This is an amazing clean and cozy restaurant! We went there for the first time and we will be back soon. The food from Nepal was so original and flavourful The waiter was attentive, helpful and kind and the cook made modifications to meet our food allergies My whole family said that they adore the food here and that they want to go back and try more dishes.

Nice ppl at the restaurant, Its small place to dine in, and since the Sign is quite small its hard to find for the first timers. I got 2 chicken Biryani, the rice portion was big- that a good thing. But there were very few chicken pcs, I guess because the price is also lower. taste is GOOD !, but no boiled eggs or Raita or pappad or aachar which is a usual combo with these types of biryani serves. packaging is good, the food was quite warm and the flavor is better than many others who sell something in the name of Biryani. will try other dishes and post reviews in the future. you get what you pay for, so its Recommended for Biryani Fans. OMG the food was oh soo delicious. It was my first time eating at this establishment and I WILL BE BACK. The fellow serving us was very polite and kind. We had those chili momos and they were very much enjoyed by both of us and the vegetable dish we had (cant remember the name) was spectacular...kinda like aloo Gobi but in a sauce and much tastier. Tried this Restaurant and Nepalese food for the first time . The Tawa chicken was moist and so flavourful with a hint of spice. The Jhol Chicken Momo (dumplings) were in an amazing sauce. Had coconut rice and salad with it and had leftovers. Cannot wait to try again. Service was friendly and prices good! Cant wait to try some more dishes!

On recommendation from a friend we ordered Tawa chicken, house special chowmein, and jhol chicken momos. You can order the spice level you want and we ordered medium. I found two of the three dishes mild on the spice level but of course that is a very personal thing. The dishes were generous in size. We had enough to feed two of us for dinner and lunch the next day. We enjoyed all the dishes, the Tawa chicken was my favourite. We cant wait to try more dishes. Highly recommend!

After reading rave reviews on a local Facebook page, I knew I had to check it out. I went in to order takeout as I wanted to ask some questions about the spiciness levels. We ordered both a mild and medium spice chicken chow mein. Both were very good, flavourful noodles with lots of chicken. The medium made my mouth tingle just a bit too much, but was so tasty. In the end, we mixed the two and enjoyed it very much. The mild butter chicken was also good. The chilli chicken momo was so good. The mild had really interesting spices, without too much heat. Craving the chow mein again already! Both the cook and counter staff are from Nepal and were very friendly.

As the many other reviews suggest, this place is a gem. After seeing many reviews online, on Facebook pages I had to check them out finally. I ordered a Nepali tarkari dish which is their veg curry specialty. What surprised me and was a nice bonus, is that rice is included. Prices are among the best around also, food was delicious full of flavor. Will be back many times

My wife and I paid a visit today to this newly established restaurant at the heart of Maple Ridge Town. That chatpate, steamed momos, and homemade hot dogg were scrumptious as its gonna make my mouth watery whenever we think of todays visit. Love to go gain n gain #recommended

First time ordering. Ordered online and it was ready when I showed up. I got the chicken chowmein and the chicken momo in butter sauce and plain rice. It was easily enough for 3-4 people. It was delicious. The sauce with the momos was so delicious! The noodles were hot and very tasty! Im glad I gave lit a try. I. Definitely going to order again!

We have never seen a 5 star rated restaurant before on Google and we decided to evaluate for ourselves. If Google allowed 6 stars we would give them a 7 Pictured below (Fig.1) is the Chicken Biryani and Nepalnese Masala Chai (tea). The Biryani tasted like it was directly gifted from the Lord of Chicken himself, and the tea is masterfully brewed. We also ordered the Tawa Chicken, a marvelously seasoned and prepared dish that we instantly developed a medical addiction for . It should be required by law for every person visiting the city to eat here.

The flavour, quality of ingredients and how well and fresh its made are unmatched and to anyone dying for good Chinese food in MR you will want to try this out. At first I was not sure because I had never tried Himalayan food, but the quality of the ingredients, the seasoning of the food, and the complete control over how spicy hot to make my food, means that I have to rate this restaurant 3 chefs kisses for how ridiculously good tasting the food there is. Dont hesitate to try them out, I already took my parents there and they are planning on bringing our aunts lol

Seriously fantastic food at a great price- Had butter chicken and chili chicken momos Nepalese style! , chow main and best of all lamb korma with roti and rice!! Chinese and Indian fusion!! Don t let the area steer you away! Order out or eat in!

Was tempted to try out the place given the raving reviews but it was a serious let down. The noodles were absolutely bland in terms of flavour or seasoning and the chilly chicken had not so fresh meats and a sauce that just didn t tie the flavours together. The only saving grace was their chicken curry which was also average at best. Have had plenty of Nepali food to know that this was a sub par experience over all.

This was my first time at this restaurant, definitely will visit again. The food was very authentic Nepali cuisine, the taste was great. The portion were huge as compared to prices. I recently dined at this Nepali restaurant, and it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality that made me feel right at home. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the momo and chowmein. The momo were simply divine, perfectly steamed with a delectable filling that burst with flavors. The dipping sauce had just the right balance of spice, make the dish to a whole new level.

We ate at Everest 8848 three times now. Every meal better than the last. They serve amazing Nepalese soup and moms and a different take on Chinese and Indian cuisine. Portions are huge, youll definitely go home with leftovers, and the owners are so so nice and welcoming. Its a modest, homey place- perfect choice for a rainy day lunch

The customer service was outstanding and the food was exactly what i was looking for. I was so pleased with the service that i received from the business. I came here with my family for dinner. They went above and beyond to help me and my family to find the perfect food items. We tried chicken momo, butter chicken, chicken chow mine, chicken choila, curry chicken momo, chilly chicken momo, homemade spring rolls and chicken biryani. They all were 5/5 for me. I highly recommend everyone to visit this place once. Really impressed with the quality of foods I received. This place reminds me of my home country.

Whatever youre dietary lifestyle, there is something for everyone. The service is gracious, knowledgeable and professional - a perfect match to the dishes served. Atmosphere is quaint, not fancy. Overall, Mt Everest 8848 is an experience worth enjoying over and over again!

Our table ordered lamb biryani, Himalayan curry and lamb curry, and fish pakora (not shown in photo). The portions were very generous, the quality was fantastic and the price was just right. Overall reviews from our table were very positive and we cant wait to return.

I have struggled to find restaurants that can cater to both a spice lovers pallet as well as the extremely mild pallet. My husband is a spice loving meat eater and I am a very sensitive vegetarian who can t handle ANY spice. I am completely obsessed with their Shahi paneer, I added chickpeas and it is sooooo delicious! Mild as can be, no discomfort at all and my husband can enjoy his spicy dishes. He really enjoyed the Tawa chicken and chicken cholla as well as other dishes! Sooo excited to find a restaurant that makes us both happy! One of the finest Nepalese restaurant in town. They offer very flavourful meal. Compared to other restaurants, it is by far the best restaurant.

I finally got my shot to try this Nepali Restaurant downtown in the Fuller Watson block of Lougheed. Anytime I see a place in Maple Ridge with a lot of hype I couch my expectations. this is the rare time that I didn t need to. What is it? If you like Indian food and Chinese food or if you like Indian OR Chinese food, you may love this place. This place serves Nepali food. With Nepal smashed between Tibet and India, it takes the best of both food-cultures and folds it together to make some really tasty stuff. I don t like dumplings, usually. Unless it s a Pierogi/Verenika or gnocchi. Now I have a dumpling that is tops on my list (sorry Italy). Momos. Dude they were fantastic. Deep fried and smothered in chili chicken sauce (without the filthy disgusting cilantro) they were the best part of the meal. You can get Mimi s a variety of ways, including Butter Chicken Momos. There was nothing I didn t love from Mt. Everest so it s really an argument about which one I love more than the other dishes. I find myself planning a return trip this weekend because there was so much I want to try on the menu. We ordered Chili Chicken Momo, Garlic Hot Wings, Chili chicken, Egg Thukpa Soup, Tawa Chicken, Tawa Roti, and Basmati Rice. Don t ask for an 8 on the heat scale unless you like the spice - I am a spicy food glutton. At one point my friend said that my eyeballs were sweating, hahaha. Which is perfect for me. Most of the dishes were 6, and my friends could feel it at the end. So I think most folks would be safe at a 4 or 5 the first time unless you have a bent for spicy food. [to my fellow normal, cilantro hating people: Comrades, -most- things on the menu can be done without the cilantro. For things that can not be done without that poison, it s best to avoid because there will be a lot of it. For some reason the usage of cilantro hasn t been deemed a crime against humanity. One day, Justice will prevail. Be vigilant here or you may have a nasty surprise.] The chicken in all of the dishes was cooked exceptionally. They clearly care about what they do here. the quality of the vegitables in the dishes was high, too. I -love- South Asian food but often find the chicken many mid-range South Asian restaurants use to be super over cooked. But definitely not here. I can t honestly say enough good things. The soup was spectacular. Sort of like a mulligatawny soup with spaghetti like noodles. Thick and hearty. As a bonus, the name THUKPA is probably the funnest word to say out loud. If you haven t gone here yet I encourage you to make a point of it. Take friends and share. This is probably one of the best restaurants in Maple Ridge. Not from a fine dining perspective, but of a good food and uniqueness perspective. The affordability is good too. For dine in, a main + a side + Roti + a can of pepsi = $25. Without the side (ie. rice) it would be about $20. Sharing is probably more cost effective. And you can try more dishes. This is the type of food that is fun to try a lot of because it s all good and there s enough variety to make it super interesting. Sometimes they are so busy on delivery/pick up that they have to stop accepting orders to catch up. If that doesn t tell you something

Mt Everest 8848 does not disappoint! We had an exceptional experience dining in. Firstly, the food was top notch. We ordered a few dishes. The veg chowmein was masterfully done in Nepali style with a blend of masala and traditional Chinese flavors. The butter veg momos were such a unique fusion, but also excellent I d recommend this as an appetizer to share with the table. The third dish we got was the Chicken Thukpa and wow! This soup was unlike anything I ve ever had. It had the flavors of a chicken curry, the savoriness of a homemade soup, and was filled with fresh veg, clean chicken, and nice noodles it was perfect for a cold night. Lastly, the milk tea was a great way to end the meal; it was well balanced and creamy. Also, we were impressed with the large portion sizes. The server was so kind and managed a busy night of dine in customers and door dash delivery orders. We went during dinner hours (6-8pm) on Friday. If you go during these hours, be ready to be patient, but trust me, the food is completely worth it. The atmosphere is simple, and reminded us of the Khaja Ghars (small, social restaurants that serve meals and tea) that can be found throughout Nepal. Take out seems to be more popular then dining in, but we enjoyed our eat-in experience. It is not incredibly fancy, but humble, simple, and the food speaks for itself. We will be back! I d encourage you to try Nepali cuisine, these folks know what they are doing.

A busy spot on a Saturday night! So worth the wait. Phenomenal food, so many dishes, it is hard to decide on a few (invite your in-laws over and use their company as an excuse to get many dishes ). Very kind staff, and just a fabulous spot to eat. Thank you heaps! Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie options, excellent taste! Parking: Parked on Lougheed, may need to circle the block, but honestly the farthest parking spot is a 2-3 minute walk.

Waste of a cheat meal. Momo things are super doughy, food not that flavorful. Super disappointed considering all the reviews. Chow Mein was decent Definitely not living up to the hype.

Tried this place because of all the hype. I ordered the butter chicken, chicken chow mein and the Tawa chicken with 4 rotis. The Tawa chicken was very oily and the chicken did not have a fresh consistency further more the oil had a wierd taste to it. the butter chicken tasted like regular butter chicken on the salter side, the chow mein flavour was good but was extremely greasy and also had that off oil taste. The roti was drenched in what tasted like the same off oil. I have never had Nepalese cuisine in the past but after this I wont try it again.
