Hataru Japanese Restaurant in Maple Ridge

We loved it. The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy. The service was super friendly. The owner was very sweet. We had appies, (gyoza and miso and sushimi) rolls and spring rolls. It was all amazing, fresh and the servings were a perfect size.

The ingredients are fresh and delicious. Its also good value for money. I would recommend it to a friend

Beef udon,it s really good.Beef is very fresh and hearty.Comforting taste! I highly recommend it.

Take out use to be my go to place for sushi for years loved the old owners but just took take out less then 2 minutes from home soup and chicken and beef teraki all cold has no flavour anymore such a shame new owners are still very nice people

This has always been my daughter s go to. Went tonight with new ownership food was great with Large portions !!

Unfortunately we just tried with the new owners that have taken over the price is definitely went way up you get way less of a portion we ordered two Bento boxes which were way smaller than normal did not contain the original bento box as previous no sonomono instead they put the Miso soup that used to come before your meal in one of the sections for the box to kind of fill it up there was no edamame the rules were very thinly sliced as if it was for a child my husband ordered the sushi box which it was smaller than normal the soonamono was essentially raw rice noodles that did not break the vinegar tasted like it was 90% white vinegar and 10% rice vinegar safe to say we will unfortunately not be coming back there very disappointed also did not bother taking a picture as my previous post had due to the fact it was not very presentable this time me and my husband definitely wish them luck for future customers maybe it was a one off on us

The new people are terrible, bring back the old employees before I get ANGRY. (Since the place wanted to know what was wrong Ill tell them, firstly they put sauce on my sushi when I specifically asked to it to not have any, then they forgot my chopsticks, and the rice was weirdly hard.)

The best deep fried tofu around..so tasty!! Also, the chicken and beef teriyaki bento boxes are really good as well as their prices are quite comparative if not better than other restaurants. Yum!

Their chicken teriyaki is fried and they way over fry it so it gets burnt crispy and they dont even want to give you a bag to go for your take out order in order to save money and make more money they put the soya sauce right inside your food container after touching it....just very unhygienic cheap greedy owners expensive prices too and mediocre food do not recommend this place

Food is spot on, fresh and what is supposed to be hot is hot and cold is cold. The price is super reasonable. There are alot of sushi places around but this is the go to spot!

The worst sushi we have ever tried. My toddler loves sushi a lot and he couldnt eat it. They gave us old and dry sushi. Went straight to garbage.

My favorite Japanese restaurant in maple ridge. Sure its a small place but the food is one of my familys staple place for the take out. Great oyakudon, rolls, best chicken teriyaki. The people who work there are very friendly. And your order is usually ready in 20-30 min. Location is also pretty convenient, and also right next to my favorite Bubble tea.

Ordered takeout from this establishment, was very disappointed. As many other reviewers on here have already stated the sushi tasted old and dry. The prawn tempura tasted like they used regular flour to batter it was, pretty gross and the shrimp were incredibly small. Overall in this day and age with inflation and everything else I expect more and with delivery its like 60 bucks. Subpar at best, avoid at all costs, theres better places in Maple Ridge.

Worst sushi I have ever had. Burned yam tempera, I dont what he did to the California roll. Ive never had whatever he uses for sauces. It wasnt good. No tea an hour after opening. Said it wasnt ready yet. The positive ratings here are fake. This place couldnt possibly get 5 stars.

Great service, great price, and delicious sushi!

Ordered chicken teriyaki, prawn tempura and a dynamite roll. Almost everything tasted old, and the prawn tempura was overly oily with way too much thick batter-- not the light tempura batter that Im used to from other sushi restaurants. Upon further inspection it also appeared that one of the prawns had not been cleaned properly prior to battering/frying. The gyoza that came with the meal was also overly oily to the point where I got a mouthful of gross oil when I bit into it. Im disappointed with my meal as I was expecting a lot more, I dont think Ill be ordering food from here again.

Was extremely disappointed! Used the menu to build a party platter but found out that the menu prices were extremely outdated. And then realized that they use msg as Im allergic. Ended up with a severe headache and extremely dehydrated.

Our favorite Japanese to go to and their chicken teriyaki is crispy and yummy. Best flavor compare to some bland Japanese restaurant.

This is our favourite Japanese restaurant in Maple Ridge. The food is always so fresh, the owners are very friendly and we never have to wait long for it to be picked up or delivered! Highly recommend! Just waiting for our order now!

My familys favourite sushi take-out in Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows. The owners are a wonderful Korean ma and pa who are always hard working and friendly. They seem more concerned about providing quality and value than maintaining modern business practices of marketing and such, and they are doing very well at it. Many locals i know keep going back for the reputation they have created. My husband even prefers this place to the many of well rated ones he goes to in Downtown Vancouver. You Just might want to call before you go if its evening. As with many rural ma & pa places, they rarely but sometimes do close early.

Usually we love this place, unfortunately today my wife and I ordered 2 Chicken Teriyakis from there. And when I went to pick it up, they said I ordered Beef Teriyakis. I said no, they pretty much looked at eachother, then looked at me, and said, you should try the beef, its really good too. So I paid the extra for the beef instead of the chicken, and took it home. And it is not as good. We are very disappointed in this, and the fact that they were trying to tell me what I ordered, then tried to convince me that it is just as good. Then didnt even offer a discount for their mistake . . . All in all, they are usually good, but this was a terrible experience. :(

The best sushi place in the area! I was checking few but was really disappointed,but this one you can not compare to others.. Everything here tastes different, just better. The best rolls , the best deep fried tofu , the best spring rolls , the best souses .

This is my daughters and my hole in the wall. Nothing fancy, just simple Japanese food at inexpensive prices. The owners are kind and very hard working.

Been going here for a few years now, no complaints, lovely staff and fast service. Sadly don t live in town anymore but it s always a treat to come and have some amazing sushi!

I go here religiously and get the teriyaki chicken. DELICIOUS!! If I could rate this 10 stars I would rate it 100 stars! My partner and I have tried many of their rolls and they never cease to amaze us :-)

Ordered for pickup: Miso Soup, Yam Roll, Chicken Terryaki Roll. It was ready when I got there. I paid and as I was walking out realized they had forgotten the miso, the man said I hadnt ordered it and left it at that - I had ordered over the phone with the woman who read back my order as I said it. Got home and tried it, the tempura surrounding the very thin sweet potato in the yam roll was just absolutely soggy and gross. The chicken terryaki roll didnt taste like anything. All in all it was not enjoyable. I will gladly switch back to Umibe across the street after this poor experience.

What can i say? The food Is amazing one best sushi places I have ever been too. If your looking for good sushi go there. They are so welcoming. And they decor is fad.

The restaurants atmosphere is just warm and cozy, its run by a couple who are very friendly and welcoming. This is the best place in Maple Ridge to get sushi! You cannot go wrong with their California roll lunch special. I also recommend their teriyaki chicken roll.
