I just wanted to share the recent experience that our family had at this location of Ban Chok Dee. We just celebrated a milestone birthday that went off without a hitch. Lynn the restaurant manager went well above and beyond to make the evening and dining experience FANTASTIC. Not only did she make special accommodations for our family that were quite difficult to work with she also made sure that the entire experience from arranging the evening, presenting sample menus that would please the family was ready the day of. Lynn is a gem and so are her staff that she has handpicked! The food was fantastic and everyone was impressed by the quality and selection. We are a pretty particular bunch when it comes to our meals and not one complaint was had. I would not hesitate to recommend Ban Chok Dee in Maple Ridge to anyone who is looking to book a venue for a special event. The only reason I gave 4 stars for the atmosphere was that it was actually quite hot in the restaurant and the AC wasn't operating in the dining area. Other than that we had no complaints! Lynn now has life long customers from my entire family all because of how she took care of us. Thank you Lynn!!
I'll be honest : the staff are nice, but the food is nothing fancy. It can be a bit crowded and noisy, but overall, the atmosphere is okay. Recommended if you're looking for a nearby Thai restaurant.
My wife and I love Thai foods but is hard to find a good one. We discovered this restaurant by accident and are so glad we did dine there. It was an hour before closing on Sunday evening. The lady who served us could not be more helpful. The quality of food was excellent, ingredients were screaming freshness. Contrary to most south Asian foods that come very sweet or oily, couple of dishes we had were just right on both. We definitely will go again. The portions were large, the best option is to go with few family members or friends and get different dishes to share.
Really great Thai food and drinks! The restaurant's atmosphere is nice and all the staff were very friendly. The food is a little pricey but the portion size is large, I definitely recommend sharing a couple dishes. The service was great even on a packed Friday night our food showed up in 15 minutes!
Price was ok Atmosphere was good and nice setting Good services too Food is average ….it’s so difficult to find good Thai food in Greater Vancouver area😞 - The curry was too watery and meat were cut too big - The Pineapple fried rice was mostly plain rice with tomato sauce; didn’t really see much pineapple nor meat - Skewers were good and interesting how they serve sticky rice with skewers - Most of the dishes serve with a bowl of rice - Taste overall was ok but the way the food was chopped in bigger chunk not delicate as expected
We have been to the Langley location and the food was amazing so we decide to try this location. We were not disappointed. I personally like the atmosphere here better than Langley. The service is topnotch and the food is very tasty. The only caution I have is it could get pricy. Three course meal for four will cost you around $200. Lastly, get a reservation to be on the safe side. It gets packed pretty quick around dinner time.
Edit/Update: I recently came here and had there Khao Soi soup. It was rich in flavor and I loved the crunchy noodles on top. Large portion size compared to other local Thai restaurants. Loved their spicy calamari with the green sauce dip. Delicious! Good service again too. Great Pad Thai lunch special for $15! I ordered the Pad Thai with shrimp. The portion size of the noodles was big compared to other Thai restaurants. The flavour of the noodles was good. It came only with 3 pieces of shrimp but the shrimp was a good size, fresh and cooked well. It was served with a small bowl of soup and salad on the main plate. For $15 it was a really good deal. I had only eaten here once before and did not like the sweet and sour seafood dish. This time around was much better. Servers were friendly. They have nice decor as well. I'd definitely come back to try their other lunch specials.
Second time around and they didn't disappoint in terms of the food or the service. The appetizing starters (chicken satay, veg n chicken spring rolls) set the ball rolling and whet our appetites for the main course to follow. The mains were pineapple fried rice with yellow curry, pad Thai, Thai chicken fried rice. All the dishes were one better than the other. The spice levels were accurate. The entire family gorged down the food, which left no space for any dessert (a promise to myself for next time 😉). Will recommend this place to anyone who would like to taste some delectable Thai cuisine. Kudos to the chef 👏.
We had padthai and some tomyum style soup. Padthai was odd that it was thin rice noodle and uncooked vegies. My soup had very rough ingredients that I think should be removed or strained. could not have it. so food wasnt great though service was awesome. very pricey for the quality
Good food, service, and decor.
This place is very good and the staff are friendly and accommodating. Definitely worth every penny.
Always Great Food & Service!!
Was looking for something quick, good and gluten free. The food was delicious, good amount to share and gluten free. Family and I loved it.
Very tasty!
tasty food, pleasant server great ambiance equals satisfaction guaranteed Food
Amazing service and the food is delicious! Large portion sizes, too!
Alex, Gavin and Tristcen went above and beyond. The best service I ve had there, ever. Will definitely be returning for the great food and amazing service.
Good good, good Price, big plates, excellent service.
Always decent food. I enjoy the Tom Yum soup. Mango sticky rice. Drunken noodles. Thai Iced Tea.. crying tiger salad. I do not enjoy the obligation feeling of a tip prompt on a debit machine, while a server looms. Checks it right away.. just cringe .
I ordered and ate it in July. I got angry while eating it so I took pictures. The beef was overcooked and tough like chewing rubber and the rice was hard as a rock so I couldnt eat it. I accidentally deleted the pictures of the tough meat and the rocky rice so I gave up on writing a review, but I felt like I had to let other people know so Im only uploading the delivery receipt.
Vegetarian options: Plenty Food
Good vibes, good food & cozy atmosphere!
Very good food. Service okay as they didnt seem to happy that we walked in 40 min before closing and mains came out within minutes of appetizers. Overall enjoyed and will be back for sure
Delicious Thai food. Green Curry is full of flavor. The crunchy shrimp appetizer was a very pleasant surprise. Just as good as the Langley location. Highly recommended
Awesome, discovered this place travelling to langley, this will be our stop everytime we do long travel highly recommended
Ordered a large catering takeout from Ban Chok Dee and everyone loved the food. Lynn and her staff accommodated our needs well. Unfortunately food was chowed before taking pictures. Will come here again!
A hidden gem! Loved the Pad Thai! The presentation of the food is top notch! Beautiful!
Appetizers were good but the food wasnt great. Portion sizes were huge and meat was chewy.
over priced, taste horrible, it is different than before!
As part of a year end celebration, we ordered Ban Chok Dee for our catered meal. Lynne, the catering manager, was absolutely wonderful to work with and was quick to respond to emails. She was upfront about costs and abilities to accommodate GF, DF, vegetarian and vegan needs. I had a firm prince point per person and she made sure that we had a range of dishes to accommodate my colleagues. Everyone enjoyed the food at the event, found some new favourites they hadnt tried before, and we had leftovers the next day at the office. We had: -vegan garden rolls -pork satay with sticky rice -power greens with peanut sauce -green chicken curry -pad thai -jasmine rice -ginger beef -pad thai The customer service was above and beyond. I wouldnt hesitate to order from Phil, Lynne, and the rest of the Maple Ridge Ban Chok Dee team! Vegetarian options: They made sure to tell us of a change to one of the dishes that we ordered as it wasnt vegan, the power greens, which was fine because we had a lot of other vegan options for everyone. Dietary restrictions: The restaurant was very upfront about how they could accommodate the options that I wanted for our catered meal.
Food is decent but not superb. Portions are good for certain entre items but disappointing for appetizers like the calimari. Pricing is also a bit on the higher end. However, the ambience is nice, and the service is fantastic! Would come back again for a special occasion.
Double date night with friends on a Friday night. Was quite late so not too busy for our first try of Ban Chok Dee. Lynn and everyone were super helpful and attentive, the food was great and we could have stayed hours longer, but we were keeping everyone from going home! Spice level options for different palates a plus too. A great first experience! Leave room for green tea gelato deep fried bananas! Vegetarian options: Lots of Veggi choices
Can be long waits sometimes because the food is always phenomenal, so it s a busy restaurant
Hi there I came all the way from Maple ridge 24086 104 ave and before I come I call your restaurant is open lady was manager she said yes by the time I came was 2:15 but when we enter lady said it s close we were hungry paid 19.89 cents I pay to Uber for nothing my request is Iam regular customer of your restaurant take deciplinary action against manager plz who ever owner is plz talk to the lady who was manager it happen today .plz plz
Excellent food and great customer service over the phone. Atmosphere could really use some updating and a professional interior designer. Not a place to go for the atmosphere. Could be so much nicer! Dietary restrictions: Lots of vegetarian options Parking: Always good parking available.
Yummy food and good service Parking: Ample parking Food : 5/5 |
Lynn is the best! They accommodate my dietary restrictions and even have plant based fish sauce for the pad Thai! Favourite place ever!
We placed a fairly big order for pick up. Food was ready on time - hot and delicious! Staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. March 2024 Dine in birthday dinner = yummy. Portions have gotten slightly smaller - but still generous. Food quality and taste continues to be outstanding. Vegetarian options: Most every dish has a vegitarian option
This place used to be really good when it first opened. Delicious, authentic Thai food. But over the years it s really gone downhill. Not sure if ownership changed or what s going on. Super disappointing as we need more good restaurants in Maple Ridge. I used to take clients & friends here for lunch often. But we found the service to be slow (even if the restaurant was almost empty), and the portions became smaller and smaller. The authentic flavour went away and instead of so many different flavours it went down to pretty basic ones. I ve tried take-out here many times; I ve finally given up on it. SO expensive for even tinier-than-in-person portions. The last time my husband had the beef stir-fry he couldn t eat it because he said it was LOADED with pepper. My favourite peanut satay featured wilted spinach. I see some positive reviews on here so maybe sometimes it s good. But I d say it s pretty hit or miss and if you have a bad experience you really pay $$ for it. Hopefully someone will revive this place because it used to be amazing!
Was a nice place ..their food is average. A little pricey for the service . Order 6 dishes for 2 people to get a good sense of the Thai Select award they have been mentioned for winning. Unfortunately wont be returning for this place.
Classic Thai food with great service and a lovely atmosphere! The ambiance is calm and artistic with a lovely center piece statue and lighted tree, and artwork adorning the walls. The place is also spacious and accomodates a reasonable amount of people of various group sizes. Service was great! The waitress remembered us from our last visit, and gave us our regular table. The staff were professional and accommodating, and water was brought often (my child had the top spicy level) and they have a good understanding of gluten free issues, and accommodate for vegetarians as well. Menu is varied. Food is excellent. The food has been different, with different chefs... sometimes more sauce or less, or a very slight change in heat levels... medium is quite mild... but its always good quality. Prawns always a good amount and not cheaper out on, as some other restaurants do in the area. The pad Thai, pineapple cashew fried rice and Thai curries are delicious and the chocolate cake is to die for! Seriously, my kid would go every day for pad Thai and cake. Prices are reasonable and its a good location. Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian dishes- and tasty! Dietary restrictions: Great for those with celiac disease or gluten intolerance or vegetarian needs. Parking: Parking is great! Free, right beside restaurant and plenty of overflow space in mall area as well.
Great and tasty food. Our one and only favorite Thai food place in Maple Ridge. Good portions and fast service.
Went there for lunch today and my partner and I have been there for dinner, as well. This place is absolutely delicious, has a great atmosphere and the service was amazing.
Worst tai food ever Tom yum with thin mushroom inside instead of fresh Papaya salad mostly iceberg salad Duck curry no taste so water down And no birthday cake no candle Told me crème brûlée instead and they bring me over sweet fried vanilla ice-cream Didn t eat anything tonight Happy birthday to me
We called up Ban Chok Dee Thai on very short notice, hoping to book a lunch reservation for 40 people - they made it work! Lynn was an absolute pleasure to communicate with and was very attentive, which can be hard to do when you re serving a party of 40. The food all came out very timely, hot, and absolutely delicious! We do a lot of large lunch reservations in the industry that we re in and this was definitely one to remember. We will be back!
We had Lynn as our server. She was so awesome I can honestly say we have never had service like this in maple ridge ever. We came for our friends birthday, food came fast and was so flavorful. I would for sure come back here and I have already recommended it to our friends and family. 5 stars for sure for service. Lynn you were amazing thank you so much.
Been twice this week and been impressed by service and selection of freshly prepared meals at this restaurant . All dishes are made to order and can ask for changes to main dishes depending upon preference and taste. Asked what spice level and protein choices each time weve gone. A must try if you are in the area. Many thanks Mai Tai was excellent Vegetarian options: Can make any dish without protein and then have vegetarian options Dietary restrictions: Made to order Parking: Plenty of free attached to grocery store parking lot
Their portions for take out are getting smaller every time we order. They don t provide a fair portion for the price they are charging. I refuse to be ripped off anymore. I won t give them our hard earned money anymore. Do yourself a favour and go somewhere else that provides a fair portion.
Wanted to try Thai food for first time. Ordered from this place. Perfect top quality food. I highly recommend
Amazing food and great portions
The food was excellent, it s my new favourite Thai place now. I brought some out of town friends and they too were quite impressed with the whole experience!! Thanks and I ll be back soon! Vegetarian options: Great veggie options!
Amazing in every way!
We love Ban Chok Dee, but the noodles were very overcooked last time we were there. We were missing that great chew!
It s definitely not authentic Thai cuisine. The food tastes horrible. The service is slow. The worst restaurant in Maple Ridge.
This is the place we love to come to as a family for great food, great service, and overall just a great time. We have never once been disappointed at this restaurant. All the servers are knowledgeable and friendly; we have had Lynn as our server multiple times and she is amazing. we highly recommend everyone to come to this restaurant.
Wow that one guys with the short hair was so cool and smart and funny. I wish I was him! Vegetarian options: Lots of green things
The food is amazing but its the service that sets it apart.
Ordered Uber eats, the food was awful over 2 hours for delivery. No flavour and super spicy despite ordering mild. Will never order here again. Food
A Must-Go For All in Pitt Meadows & Maple Ridge. Hands-down the best restaurant in the area. I was first attracted by nice interior decor only to be pleasantly surprised by the delicious menu. First off, you MUST order the Tom Yum soup with Thai level of spiciness. If you dont, its not real Tom Yum soup. I even ordered it as a side dish but that alone was an amazing meal on its own. While eating it, I imagined myself coming here every single day or week just to order only the Tom Yum soup and Id live happily ever after The Pad Thai wasnt the best Ive had but all the flavours were there so youll love it either way. Its also big enough to feed two! Tip: if the noodles are thicker, then they wont get soggy as quickly with all the delicious flavours. Finally, we ordered the Goong Phong ka-ree. This was something special. With each bite I got a rush of nostalgia through the pure comfort all the flavours were emitting. All in all, well definitely be back for more. Theyve won us as regulars.
Absolutely amazing service! Our waitress was the best! Delicious food!! No complaints whatsoever! U have to try their crème brûlée!
Amazing food, excellent service. Best little restaurant in Maple ridge.
First time I ate her my daughter took me...Im addicted to Chinese Food but Thai was a bit new to me...I LOVED IT...2 years later took the girlfriend and was not disappointed...it was delicious...
Big portions, great atmosphere and very tasty! The waiters are pleasant and take care that you like everything. I recommend dishes with shrimp. They cook them amazingly! *I also recommend booking a table in advance, we waited 40 minutes before we can sit (came on a Friday without a reservation) but the wait was worth it, we love the dishes
Overall good Thai restaurant. Ample parking. They have another branch in Langley, but I personally think this Maple Ridge location has better taste.
The place is great. Service is good. Food is good. The only place In Maple Ridge to go to for Thai Restaurant
I was there on Valentines day Feb 14th 2023 at 6:30pm with reservations and was poorly treated as soon as we stepped in to check in, to make matters even worse THE FEMALE MANAGER WAS EXTREMELY RUDE and FULL JUST FULL of BAD ATTITUDE AND COMPLETE DESPEGAR FOR MY CONCERNS. THE SERVERS WERE RUDE AND SASSY, THEIR MANAGER HAS NO BUSINESS BEING IN CHARGE OF ANYONE AS SHE CLEARLY HAS TOTAL DISDAIN FOR THE PAYING CUSTOMER. WE TOTALLY FELT EMBARRASSED FOR HER BEHAVIOR IN FRONT OF A FULL HOUSE. ME MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS WILL NEVER AGAIN GO BACK TO THIS RESTAURANT. IT WAS OUR FIRST TIME EVER DINNING THERE AND WILL MOST DEFINITELY BE OUR LAST. #NeverAgain #WorstDinningExperience #WORSTMANAGER!!!
Wowza! Great ingredients, great flavors coupled with very authentic Thai dishes are to be enjoyed here! This restaurant I would say is a little quieter than the Langley restaurant which we like. The service is excellent. You wont be disappointed!
Food is great but cold environment
We ordered from there last night, $276 for 13 dishes, (3 were spring rolls) so not cheap, they forgot the lettuce for the lettuce wraps, and they missed 2 of our dishes! They said they give me a credit. 1 mistake I can see but 3? Not acceptable for this kind of proce point. My guests were less than impressed with the food. I always love the chok dee chow mein and spring rolls but everything else was pretty meh.
Great food and large portions.
Hor Mok Salmon felt like curry, this is not Hor Mok. Som Tam tasted great. We loved crispy Lad Na.
Absolutely 100% the worst run business in Maple Ridge. Horrible management. Never seen a poorer run establishment
For was delicious. Server was FABULOUS Dietary restrictions: Special made my drink non sugar for diabetic reasons Parking: Lots of parking
Went for the classic pad Thai, it was huge and had to take half with me (lunch for tomorrow:). Lynn was great talking to, it seems she is genuinely interested in what u have to say and relates to her own experience. Pleasant experience. Parking: Easy
we used to go here all the time. our last encounter will defiantly make us rethink it. the customer service was awful. we understood they were short staffed and we were EXTREMELY patient. I should add we waited an HOUR to be seated and the host came up to us after an hour and said they wouldn t be seating anymore guests for the night after we were told we would be seated in 30min. we wont be back anytime soon.
Wow the food is amazing, the service fabulous and the carved mango beautiful. Thank you Lynn for your wonderful service. You made our visit so enjoyable.
Did not get order from skip and they said to bad very rude never ordering from there again
Perfect!! Best food in Maple Ridge. Did I write that before today? STILL the best food in Maple Ridge! Food
We used to love this place. But recently the food is not too good. Food is too oily and flavor and richness of the food has come down in the last year. Still a decent Thai food place in maple ridge.
Excellent fresh and flavourful ingredients, very friendly service. Would for sure come back every trip.
This restaurant used to serve amazing food but not anymore. Very likely the chef changed. Today we received burnt tasting pad ki mau and literally a bland tom yum. Its downhill for this place. I just wish more thai places around this area. Wont return again here .
Small portions and underwhelming quality. I would recommend you crossing this off your list of possible Thai restaurants to visit even the peanut sauce seem like it was kraft extra smooth peanut butter with a little bit of chilli oil. That was not properly mixed absolutely terrible, small portions and borderline edible quality.
Ordered gluten free Pad Thai for my wife and lettuce wraps. They forgot the lettuce for the wraps and the food was contaminated so my wife got sick. When we phoned, they begrudgingly offered to only reimburse half of the cost of the lettuce wraps. We wont return.
Wonderful tasting food. I got the pad Thai happy finished the plate. Definitely will be coming back again in the future.
Great food and service. Very authentic and great experience. Highly recommend
Great food and excellent service
Great food great staff!
Lynn did a phenomenal job of serving myself and my family from your of town. The restaurant took the care to stay open 30 minutes beyond their open hours to accommodate us and all the food was fantastic.
I went here with my family when my uncle was in town! The service was awesome, our server Lin was super knowledgeable and tentative. Everyone one enjoyed the food and the drunken noodles were amazing I highly recommend! The ice cream was from Mario s in Vancouver and ended the meal perfectly :)
My friend took me here, great Thai food. We got drunken noodles, Thai fried rice and some salmon in curry thing. Great huge portions for sure, plenty to take home. Great service!
10 mins before the witress came around for drinks. Another 15 mins before she came around to take our order. Meanwhile she was busy bragging about how awesome the restaurant is to other tables. This is the lady with long black hair and glasses (guessing shes the owner). Food is average Thai food at about 20% higher price than other places. Theyre about $5 overpriced per dish.
Had dinner at Ban Chok Maple Ridge today as always the food was amazing Its the best Thai food ever !! Also seeing Lynn and how beautifully she engages with guests makes the experience of dining so much more enjoyable.
My husband I have been ordering here for years but the past five or so times the quality has gone down hill. Tonight was our last time giving them a chance. The Pad Thai was over saturated in sauce, portion size was not full and there were toppings missing. The panang curry was just OK. For $25+ per dish, it just is not worth it anymore. Will be trying Smile Thai again next time.
Had lunch with some out of town guests and was so impressed. Our server Lynn was so helpful and friendly. The food was delicious and perfectly spiced. Will not be our last visit. Thank you!
A basic restaurant with amazing food. Service was prompt and efficient. Even with our party of 10. Great selection and everyone raves about how tasty their meals were Vegetarian options: Lots of choices
Essentially I was very disappointed that after I repeatedly requested absolutely No Onions in the 3 dishes I ordered and it even printed out that request....I opened up my take away food and it was loaded with onions. The prawns were fresh which explains the 2 stars I gave. Not returning to this expensive restaurant
Wow, if you like Thai food, this is a great option. I went with a group of girls and we all had a lunch special. In fall 2023, that was about $22ish. Every one of us loved the food!! I had yellow curry with chicken and 2 of the girls had Pad Thai and another had a rice dish. Everyone was very happy and commented on how tasty it was. They will make the spice level to your liking and serve the wonderful broth soup as a starter for everyone. Vegetarian options: One of our friends had a vegan option and loved her food Parking: It is in the Save On parking lot so lots of spots
Food here is very good. Menu has just the right amount of choices, not too overwhelming and the selections that are available are prepared very particularly. The chef here clearly has a passion for creating high quality cuisine. If I had to choose something that wasn t exemplary it would be the dining room is quite small. But I m splitting hairs here, you won t regret going here for dinner!!
Ordered red curry for pickup. Upgraded to coconut rice. Was kinda shocked when I paid, it was over 27 dollars. Got home and for some reason 90% of the curry sauce leaked out of the container and into the bag. The lid was on tight and the bag was kept level so I have no idea what happened but think that maybe the container itself had a crack in it? Anyways, I ended up dumping curry and the escaped sauce into a bowl and ate it. Flavor was good, not spectacular, just decent. Certainly not good enough to justify the price. Portion was also small. I cant remember the last time I finished my whole curry and rice (I usually order from smile) but I ate all of this no problem. Good food but terrible value.
This is our go to place when dining out. The food is always really good. We sometimes do take out when we want to just chill. Dietary restrictions: My DIL has a nut allergy and we were able to order here with no issues. Please keep in mind they have nuts on site and use them in a lot of their dishes. Parking: They are located in an outdoor mall of sorts so the parking is plentiful.
Food is all made from scratch and deliciously worth the wait. Service is friendly welcoming and attentive.
Must try their fried rice with red curry
Not what it used to be. Much better options in lower mainland. Prices higher than most, quality is ok, taste is decent, portions small. They have a lot of room for improvement now.
Awesome Thai food and nice cozy ambiance!!
We ordered takeout, vegan pad Thai & vegan drunken noodles. Pad Thai was dry & minimal flavour. Drunken noodles were overcooked & mushy, sauce tasted good though. Neither of us ate more than half our meals. Would not re-order takeout from here again unfortunately.
Its my opinion, Ban Chok Dee Thai food in both Langley and Maple Ridge offers superior quality Thai food. Easy access, street parking and lovely decor, friendly staff, always pleasant and helpful when ordering. The only drawback, prices are climbing, while volume of food is shrinking. Little protein, mostly sauce and rice. Lunch for 2 was $84 which is not something we can do often. This included 1x6 oz if red wine and a San Pellegrino. I do recommend this restaurant and we will return also. Just not as often as we would like.
The food is always da bomb, only place thats authentic, and the ladies always do great service. The crowd is a bit too fancy but the restaurant and staff make you feel at home.
I thought the food was great. We had a good time.
Ginger beef and the Drunken noodles! Good quantity for the price.
The best Thai restaurant I have been to. I absolutely love it!!!
Food is good but I ve gone a few times now for lunch and ended up being charged extra for things that I wasn t notified was extra. For example the server asked if I wanted prawns and I said yes but she didn t tell me it was $3/$4 extra(and only 3 little prawns in my dish) at another time I ordered a regular lunch special with chicken which usually runs about $15ish, I get the bill for $18 cause they re charging $2 for the chicken and $1 for rice? I ve been going for months and have never seen such a charge. Servers should be notifying their customers if something costs extra, especially if it was implemented recently with no notice on their menus. A little disappointing I probably won t be going back due to this.
Our new favorite Thai restaurant!
Food is great and consistent. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Good food
Highly Recommend this restaurant. This was the best experience I have had with staff at a restaurant in a long time, very friendly and personable. The portion sizes were very good for the price. You can tell the owners take pride in the restaurant as it is very nice inside. Order one step spicier than you want, if you want medium order hot etc as the medium was very mild, but food was very good overall!
Great food and service
Food is very good and staff are as well
Incredible food. Their sauces are so excellent.
Took my mom here for her birthday today, unplanned. Wed overshot our original destination and didnt want to teavel back, and were both happy we nade that choice because it was fantastic here. The food was tasty and amazing, and almost too pretty to eat. Staff were great! They found a candle to stick into her cake slice which was super nice and really made her day.
Drinks mai tai and peach sangria. Amazing taste and refreshing Food pad se eu Chowmein Server was amazing
Large portions, $15-20/entree, food was delicious and the deep fried banana was a rare treat.
Tried for first time, Ordered take out, food was OK but shorted us on 3 garden rolls, wife dropped by to get, and they said they were too busy to help her. Lost my business forever. Not right way to treat customers. Stay safe all.
Actually the best food ever my fav is the green curry with coconut rice! If I could choose my last meal that s what it would be for sure.
The place is nice with great food and service. I find to have more enjoyment of food and have conversation as the place is not loud at all. Food portion is definitely a PLUS!
Great restaurant, always very friendly staff and quick service, they use freshest produce and everything we ve tried so far was amazing. Kids absolutely love this place, especially the kids drinks and deep fried bananas with ice-cream.
Great owner Phil ,servers great food excellent!
It has been our restaurant of choice for Thai. I ll rethink that after being told 50min. And waiting another 30 minutes for a total of an hour and 20 minutes whilst watching many people come get their take out orders. One person had to go to work with no supper, and another person ended up late for their visit with friends. Lucky the food is so good, but prob going to the competition after this doozy.
Very flavourful and delicious food..
The meal was very flavorful and fresh! Our waitress was terrific! Will definitely make a point of going again!!
Went with my girlfriends and ordered different items across the menu including Tom Yum Going soup and Crying Tiger Beef salad. All dishes were absolutely delicious! We were well taken care of by our server Lynn. Thank you.
Amazing food, amazing service. Cleanliness throughout the restaurant is amazing. Great taste, by far the best Thai restaurant in Maple Ridge, hands down. Comfortable environment, we went for lunch, staff were welcoming and courteous. Food was fresh and out in 15 min, we went during downtime. Thank you for your great service, we ll be back!
Enjoyed my drunken noodles, sauce was great, portion was huge. Whole table had a nice experience.
Went for dinner on a Wed night, food was fresh, delicious and beautifully presented, service was excellent and the sangria was divine with loads of fresh plump fruit. Very busy for a Wed night.
If you are looking for fast, friendly service and fresh ingredients youll love this place. Everything we ordered was delicious and the portions were generous.
My second visit. Service was satisfactory. Our main courses (party of four) took its time but once it arrived, it once again did not disappoint. No one in our party had anything bad to say about their meal. Waiting area is lined with multiple awards. Good job!
Food was ok, serving size is pretty small for the price. The flavors were muted. Better than mall food court but not worth $20 an item.
The food here is amazing. It may take a little bit longer than other restaurants to get food on the table, but that is only because everything is made fresh. Great portions for the money. The best Thai food in the area.
We ve been long term customers of ban chok but tonight they incorrectly made our takeout order, and told me that although I had to drive an extra 30 minutes to fix the error they made in the first place, that their time is precious and there would be no further compensation. They also took back the incorrectly made food - hopefully that didn t land on your plate. This place is too expensive for mistakes and poor customer service.
Best Thai food around!
The street food presentation is good but not the taste we can accept.
I should have found this place earlier in my life cause I would have come more often! Service and food were fantastic! I ordered custom (Chicken & Broccolli with Crispy noodles & gravy) and it came exactly as expected. Vegetables done to perfection, delicious gravy and beautiful presentation. They have a great cocktail selection, I had a jug of White Wine sangria and it was refreshing and delicious. Definitely worth another visit soon! Vegetarian options: Lots of variety and they will make something custom ..just ask. Parking: Loads of parking a
Amazing service, and the food absolutely blew me away.
Ive only been there once so far. I came out of an appointment and all I could smell was something so irresistible and all of a sudden, starving. Lol. I followed this aroma to their front door. The menu had a good variety for anyone! I ordered the Pad Thai noodle dish and it was huge! Felt like 2 servings or more, brought some home. So delicious and their deep fried wontons..omgoodness mouth watering ! I cant wait till next time. Ill be a regular.
Service was terrible. Had to ask to order. A/C was on when it was a cool day and when I mentioned this to the waitress she said only the manager can change it and they were not there till later. My neck and back were so cold, and to mention my coffee was cold after 2 sips becauseof this. Meat in the food was cut so big 3 x 3and no knives on the table to cut smaller. The pork and beef was so tough. Not going back. And will not refer. First and last time eating there.
I hadnt had Thai food in such a long time so was looking forward to trying it here as it was close to home in Maple Ridge and have not been before. Was unfortunately disappointed. The fruity drink I ordered was $10 and basically the size of an over sized shot glass filled with mostly ice. I ordered the red curry with beef and the beef was grissly and chewy. I ended up picking it out of my dish to throw out. The server was very nice but you can tell inexperienced which I get as its hard to find help these days. Service overall was slow and it wasnt busy...we were one of three couples in the restaurant. Just a disappointment and will not be returning.
Excellent food. Didnt get much better for Thai food.
I used to love this restaurant, but tonight not so good. Flavours were good, but the chicken was precooked. Yuck! Threw all the chicken out from the red curry. Plus way over priced. $60 for two dishes. Served two with one lunch.
Every vegan dish that I have tasted here so far has been absolutely delicious. The coconut rice is an obvious choice to your meal (even at the additional charge). The decor is beautiful and the service is wonderful! I would highly recommend it if youre craving some good Thai cuisine.
Tasty, fresh & nice atmosphere.
Very good food and service.
Removing my previous review and updating it after speaking with the owner Phil. We had a good chat on the phone and he made it right, he even insisted I leave the original review up until I atleast gave them another try. Well I reordered today and the food was fantastic as it usually is. I m happy to have given them another shot. Even the best restaurants have their off days, but I m glad they reached out to fix it.
Food was delicious, from the drinks, to the mains and also the desserts! Friendly staff and good atmosphere!
We used to order all the time and the food was amazing. Not sure whats going on but its become more bland. Please go back to the way you were :(
We eat here alott their food quality is really good and they are very understanding My husband is celiac they always make gluten free food for my husband and their food taste is delicious 100% recommended
Vegetarian-friendly restaurant.
Ordered through door dash. The pad Thai was fine. The stuffed chicken wings.i got 2 pieces, and its worth 20$.
This place is wonderful! We have been there 3 times, and cant wait to go back. The yellow and green curry is just perfect, the service was friendly and fast, and as if thats not enough, the decor is so enchanting with the blossom tree lit up in the center, and chandeliers that we actually stayed instead of going home to our cocoon like we usually do! We also had a creme brulee which was excellent...the best Ive ever had!
Delicious food and portions are excellent.
Food was good. Big portions. Lonnnnnnnnnng wait on dessert. Like 25 minutes. Asked after 15 and got told ya. Its coming they then brought spoons and we waited 10 more minutes. Desert was not nearly as good as the food.
Waited 20 minutes to be seated even though it was empty. They kept ignoring me and instead taking care of the pick ups for people behind me in the line. Then offered me a place right in the middle that was not even a dinner table just because I was by myself! Very cold and uninviting place. I will never go back there...the food was not good either..do not recommend at all ! Dont waste your time. There are many nice places in town that you can enjoy...
We were very excited to try this place but unfortunately, we were left pretty disappointed. They took over an hour to prepare our meal and their Thai red curry tasted very bland. They did not give heads up about kitchen closing and when we wanted to order some desserts, we were told that the kitchen is closed and we cant order. So thumbs down for this place. Definitely not worth the price we paid for our food.
Very disappointed with the food and service.
i took my bestfriend here for her 21st birthday party and the waiter Lynn started monitoring our drinks as soon as she started taking the drink orders and said that she smelt marijuana (which is legal as none of us were driving) and said she needed to make sure everyone was safe as if we were 16 years old. My bestfriend had anxiety the whole time as if she couldn t enjoy her drinks and was even scared to ask for another. I come to a restaurant to enjoy my drinks and food not to feel like i m in a supervised bar, the fact that this was a birthday party which was stated to the restaurant made it even worse because we came here to celebrate but couldn t even do so. It was our first time there and i can speak for all of us including the birthday girl that we will never come here again and will share this story with friends and family to advise them to not go either. overall food was good but for the service we received was not worth it. Thanks banchokdee!!
Awesome food, awesome service!
Great food but be prepared to wait!! I was told pickup in 45 min , its been an hour an 15 and still waiting! This really is unacceptable in todays busy world!!
Very good people and service
Best Thai food EVER. Every single time, it does not disappoint. I ve gotten the seafood paradise most often but switched it up this last time and got the sweet and sour with prawn extra prawn and rice noodles. My new go to FOR SURE! Perfect mix of sweet and sour and the pineapple adds a little so tho g extra for the mouth. The calamari is an absolute no brainer as well! 10/10 will always recommend if you love Thai. And they are so great with allergies and modifications
Poor communication between staff that take pick up orders and kitchen. Was told 15 min for pick up, ended up being almost hour!
After reading the reviews I had great expectations but unfortunately we didnt have a great experience. We ordered through ubereats and paid the priority but we still waited for over 1 hour (we live 5 mins away). The food tasted good but not amazing for the high price we paid. The chicken was a little hard and the pineapple fried rice had way too many raisins (personal opinion).
Made reservations online for group of 6. Drove 30 minutes to restaurant to find they were closed. Nice of them to close impromptu and not notify anyone plus not changing their phone message to state theyre closed, instead it asks you to hold for staff to answer. Response to owners reply: I didnt tell which day we were there so how can you reply lol. You were closed and there was a hand written sign on door saying closed. Your reply makes no sense, not all reviews are made the same day. Weve been to Langley before and decided to try Maple Ridge location for a change. Its your fault we ended up going to Mr. Mikes since all other restaurants were too busy on short notice.
i love it here. Its always consistently amazing ! one of my favourite places. The food and service are amazing
Khao soi is my favourite...just not from this restaurant. Everything else is pretty good. Do not attempt if you cant handle spice!
After reading the reviews I was primed for a great meal... Im not sure if those people had a different cook or have just never had great Thai before? Theres nothing wrong with the food but it wasnt what Id consider good, its mediocre at best. If you think this is 4 or above go out to Chilliwack and try Coconut Thai and Im sure youll revise your rating. Im not saying dont eat here, its acceptable but its no 4.3 quality from the dishes I had. Pineapple Rice, Pad Thai and another that was unremarkable I cant even think of at the moment. Ill look around for a more flavorful replacement. Cheers!
Ordered food for our staff bday lunch; but it was really disappointing when we didnt get our order properly they forgot to give one food bag to the delivery guy so half of us was just sitting with half food on our table and we were starving and we were just on our lunch break. What was disappointing is that when we called they knew they forgot to hand one bag to the delivery person but they didnt bother to call us and let us know ahead that they forgot and when delivery comes we could have tell the person and he could have gone and get it but not even once the Girl on the phone apologized customer service was not good at all and they delivered the food when our break was over and nobody could ate properly. Overall the food was good but customer service needs some work.
Waitress was great and food was delicious
First time eating here and the entire group was impressed. While none of the dishes knocked us off our feet, we ordered 7 dishes and all of them were delicious! They even made the Thai iced tea for me using coconut milk instead of the sugar-laden sweetened condensed milk or cream. If I return again and the food & service are as consistently good as we experienced today then I would rate this place a 5. Pad Thai, Pineapple Cashew Fried Rice, Yellow Curry, GANG GOONG PINEAPPLE CURRY, garden rolls, chicken satay, coconut rice - all very tasty, as judged by a group ranging in age from 4 to 77 years with the 2 youngest having allergies to wheat, egg, dairy & cashews! And Im usually the hardest to please having spent a fair amount of time eating my way around Thailand. It was a great intro for my cousins who have never eaten Thai before and live nearby, saying they will return again.
Our go to spot for Thai food in Maple Ridge!
Food quality consistent as with the Langley location. Favourite is green curry with chicken. Fun place to meet up with friends. Has windows in half the restaurant, so nice in the summer time! Interiors are bit dark, but fun place to hang out with friends. First time here location a bit hard to find. Is the very first building on your right when you turn in form the main street, and the sign is not facing the street so a easy to miss!
AMAZING FRIENDLY STAFF!! First time there tonight, and we were welcomed by our waitress Lynn. A warm hearted, caring, compassionate, energetic, employee. We will definitely come back again and again. And the food was absolutely 100% top notch yummilicious!!! Beautiful and delicious.
Awesome service and the food was amazing. It was my first time eating Thai food. So good.
Maple Ridge location (Lougheed Highway)The worst restaurant experience ever. We were made to wait for our food for 40-45 mins. Upon enquiring about the wait time, the server mentioned they were preparing a big take out order and that it might take them another 15-20 mins! We had no other option but to leave since most of the tables they were serving were similarly waiting for their food. The server went around all the tables and kept telling the customers to wait. The whole time, servers were gathered in their mini lunch/break room and chatting. If the restaurant was that busy, we shouldn t have been seated. Had they informed us ahead of time that there would be 40-45 mins wait, we would have a) happily waited or b) went to another restaurant. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
