I used to go to this place very often, and my dad knew them since they were a nice and friendly husband and wife team. The wife took the orders, and the husband was the chef. However, we’ve witnessed them get into chaotic and crazy arguments, which was quite uncomfortable. We decided to go back after a couple of years, but I was shocked to see the prices had increased significantly. It cost almost $15 for some 時菜牛肉炒麵 (beef stir-fried noodles with seasonal vegetables), which is absolutely ridiculous. Maybe the rent is high, maybe it’s inflation—who knows? The portions were small and extremely salty; they must really love MSG. When my dad confronted them about the issues politely, they were very rude and unprofessional. I recommend going to Silver Star food court, which is less than 5 minutes away, where you can find similar dishes for just $7—half the price! There are better establishments worth your time and money; I’d suggest Siam Thai if you’re craving delicious beef noodle soup or the Lucky Bridge. I don’t have a photo because my parents told me not to take one due to the poor presentation, but I’ve attached what the dish looks like.
Came for lunch on a weekday so wasn’t busy. Ordered the chilli chicken on fried rice ($12.99) and it was honestly so worth it for the price point. Places that charge so much more have overcooked dry chicken and over fried rice but this place was perfectly cooked, seasoned, and portions was shareable! The meat was juicy, the fried rice wasn’t too salty, and it was off-the-fire steaming HOT FRESH! I’d definitely come again to try something else!
Do not eat here. I would give 0 stars if I could. I waited 30 mins for my chili chicken which came out mild with no chili. The fried rice was mushy and came out from the fridge. Another customer overheard me and said the same thing (his family ordered the same thing). Then they grabbed both of our orders and threw them into the same wok and said they will recook. Told them they cant mix our food that was already eaten. Asked for our money back and she refused. Also she wears rubber gloves to cook the food and uses them to touch the garbage can. Disgusting. Should be shut down by the health department.
Waited 10 minutes to order and 35 mins to get my food. They couldn't even give me the curry for my curry fish ball. Horrible experience. So many people who ordered after me got their food first. Food wasn't even good. Absolutely disappointing
Had lunch here and the portions are huge. If you are are ever at pacific mall definitely a place to try. Service was great and fairly quick. Lots of selection. We were there on a weekend and there as night seating for the 4 restaurants in that section. Prices are really good considering the portion size.
Waited 35 mins and food was not good, fried tentacles was overcooked
With all of the available restaurants in Pacific mall, Casa Formosa is 100% a restaurant you do not want to miss out on! They have a wide selection of meals, great pricing, and best of all, their portions are huge! My wife and I shared their chicken with fried noodles (A1) and it was more than enough for the both of us to share. Don't skip out on these guys, you won't regret it
Massive servings for what you pay. It's almost as if you're buying food 20 years ago when you got double the amount you paid for. Great mom-and-pop business. Definitely recommend everyone coming here for food at Pacific Mall.
Lots to choose from a deep menu. Your patience will be rewarded.
Honestly, the most amazing deep fried squid tentacles- B4!!! So much flavour for such a simple dish!
