5308 Hwy 7 unit 5-7, Markham, ON L3P 1B9, Canada
Specializing in Cantonese dishes, this casual, modern outfit also serves some Pan-Asian items.
A Chinese restaurant providing a big variety of food, from appetizers, noodles to stir fried dishes. Price is valuable and affordable, depending on your budget. Noodles is 10 bucks something. It closed late at night and it is our top choice for late dinner.
I must say the food served in this Congee Queen is very different when compared with Don mills -Finch and in Centre-point Mall at Yonge. “This is our go to location.” Since we were in Markham, we tried this location for the first time. The food served here is not salty at all and portion wise it is enough too. The only one thing that I didn’t like is that the food wasn’t cooked on a hot wok. When we took a first bite of the rice noodles and fried rice the smell of the wok is missing. Also, I don’t understand how come congee gets too watery after I took 3 scoops from my small bowl. Squids were the best. Overall, the customer service is great.
The interior is nice, food came quick and staffs are friendly. In general taste of the food is acceptable, portion is big however comparing with other Chinese restaurants the meal was missing some details / flavor of the Chinese food requiring a lot of fried (not deep fried ) vibe. Good for grabbing a quick meal instead of enjoying some traditional Chinese food. The XO sauce tulip cake was out of my expectation tho, the most delicious among other restaurant even those dim sum restaurants. Give it a 👍🏻
Congee Queen in Markham offers an extensive menu with a wide variety of authentic Chinese dishes, perfect for family-style dining. The portions are generous, ensuring that everyone leaves satisfied. While the service is adequate, the food truly stands out, showcasing a rich array of flavors and ingredients. Whether you're in the mood for meat, seafood, noodles, or vegetable dishes, Congee Queen delivers with quality and authenticity. Their Dim Sum is a particular favorite, offering a delicious selection of traditional bites that are both flavorful and satisfying. Overall, Congee Queen is definitely worth checking out if you're craving genuine Chinese cuisine in a welcoming, family-friendly environment.
The food is consistent no matter which location which is why we love Congee Queen. This location is smaller than the Mississauga and Etobicoke location. The food was tasty and plenty. We had to wait a bit to be seated as it was pretty packed inside. Lots of parking. Overall, enjoyed every bite.
latest visit: may 18, 2024: saturday service, ambience, food -all deserving 5-stars! 5 percent off from the bill if paying cash.. parking may be a bit of a challenge, but not hard to find a spot if you're not picky.. this branch is consistently a great experience.. 300 canadian to feed 10 people with lots of take home food! had the empress fried rice, two b12s and one super congee without egg (we had someone allergic to eggs) we had a dish of fish (sweet and sour), vegetables in garlic sauce, beef sizzling without ginger (if you hate ginger like me), combo duck/pork bbq, and i forgot what but it was a spicy, tofu-looking thing.. everything is awesome! thanks congee queen! visit: june 14, wednesday surprised to see I've never reviewed this place, i have been a customer for years. service is always fast, and with the self ordering system (qr code provided upon being seated) is spot on.. you can still order regularly with the staff though. the qr code phone option has pictures of the food although incomplete, but gives you an idea what most items look like. (physical menu has less photos) and people, do not come here and expect a warm, "westernized" customer service greeting.. no, I've eaten around with the girlfriend, one irrefutable fact she said about chinese restaurants, if the staff is rude, food is good. i find that funny, and truthful to a point. but people complaining about the service at this restaurant show ignorance. i dont care though, certainly not congee queen. but for the record, they were nice to us. for $100 you can have a big bowl of congee, fried rice to share, 2 dishes and all 5 people can still be satisfied. 5% off for cash payments, for cards they do not accept amex. parking can be a little tough, but be patient.
Good Chinese food in Markham. Friendly and quick service. Nice atmosphere. They have an express combo lunch menu. Affordable prices. I choose the general Tao chicken, menu said spicy but it was not spicy at all. I wish there was a little more spices and seasoning. My lunch came with a soup, a pot of jasmine tea and some greens. Great value.
Nothing to write home about but it’s a good enough generic Chinese restaurant, especially for those who are not familiar with really good Chinese food. It’s conveniently located and the menu has a very wide offering so if you’re with a group, everyone gets to choose what they like because it’s almost certain, they will have a dish for each person’s palate. If you’re hungry and want a quick Chinese food fix, large quantities, this is the place to go. We ordered the fried cod with broccoli, the fish wasn’t fresh but at least the broccoli was and it was cooked well, with a bit of a crunch. We were 4 and the other 2 didn’t bother eating more cod after their first bite. We ordered General Tao. At least this one had some flavour and the bell peppers were crunchy and cooked well. We ordered the seafood fried rice. It lacked flavour, it was just OK. The vermicelli shrimp noodles (forgot the dish name) was more lacklustre than the rice. I brought it home and added more shrimps, egg, green onions and salt and pepper to the otherwise bland taste. Our 2 other friends didn’t even want to take home any of the dishes, even if there was a lot of leftovers. The fried tofu was the best. It met our expectations. It was crunchy and the quantity was generous.. We all enjoyed this dish. Service was decent, even if they’re a bit abrupt, it’s ok. Not too bad. Interiors were good, nicely themed, good lighting none of the white fluorescent lights Chinese restaurants usually have, they have booth seating, round tables for bigger groups, another room for overflow. Maybe next time I will try and order other dishes, maybe we didn’t choose correctly.
Food tastes good. The service is hit or miss sometimes you ll get your food instantly, while other times it s a 20 minute wait
One of the older locations...went for afternoon tea menu lunch...great deals...food portions and prices are good.
Good food and reasonable prices!
December 14, the day starts no hst on restaurant eating. Congee queen no increasing price on the menu, not same as most of the restaurants they already increased menu price on the dishes! Support Cobgee Queen!
Everything I tried, exquisite! We ordered it to go and it was well packaged.
Great Cantonese style barbecue
Good food friendly service
I just went there for lunch with my family! The staff was super friendly and nice, and the food was amazing!
Raw beef porridge, beef is juicy and smooth. The beef tendon noodles are so dry and slippery. The double-ball noodles are enough to make your teeth chewy. Yummy yummy! ! !
What happened to to this place? Congee Wong and Mr. Congee are better options.
Being a customer for more than 9 years at this location, the quality of food went worse and the price went up quite a lot. Had a hair in the food, did not even bother telling them and still paid enough tips, but very disappointed about the food quality now.
This was delivery so cannot speak about service or atmosphere. We order from this location of Congee Queen often. I recommend their Salt Pepper Pork. It is one of the few places that does the dish well and authentically Cantonese style. We got shrimp wonton noodles, congee, salt pepper pork & beef brisket/tendon. Everything was tasty. My only gripe poaaibly was that the delivery take-out didn t automatically come with red vinegar with the wonton noodles. So be sure to remember to ask!
Well, how do I say this in a nice way? You just cant! Unfortunately, over the weekend, I went to Congee queen, located in Markham. Ill be honest the taste of food is great! I wont deny that, but the cleansingness of the restaurant isnt, and why I say this is that I found hair 2x in the same dish that was prepared. The 1st order found hair called them. They made a new one and again found hair. Disgusted, that i had to say something to management even though they apologized, and thats fine. we were not rude to each other. But I must say management is in charge he should be looking at the kitchen counters etc .. making sure they are wearing hair net etc but most of all the chefs should be looking at the food they cook and prepare and all those other people in the back should be checking and making sure utensils and counter tops are being cleaned properly .. I dont care if its busy that is the job! Its gross. I almost vomited that evening, feeling like vomiting thinking about what happened. I then requested for a full refund, including the food I bought in which I didnt even yet open, but bc of what happened with the other dish 2x, it disgusted me. I went and got Browns Katsu instead ! Clean and everything as always love that place ! If these guys can do it, so can Congee Queen ! To be honest, I will not be going to them for a long time. Im turned off its quite clear the kitchen isnt cleaned properly to have that happen to me and they were busy too that day I could imagine how many hairs could have landed in these peoples food! Yucky! So, management, you really need to do something to make sure this doesnt happen again ! I dont care how busy I really dont. I know a lot of places and they take care of their kitchen !
Good food
1st choice for Chinese restaurants for the Family.Quick and fast orders. Very consistent with the taste no matter which location.
Just like any chain restaurants, there is no surprise but it is a safe choice for a quick hot meal. It certainly isnt the best but is good enough for its price point for an Asian meal. We had soup noodle, fried noodle and congee and they all turned out not bad. However, this is their only location that I have tried, so I can not say all the congee queen in town will taste the same.
Never disappointed. Good food quality control!
Food was much better than my last visit. It wasnt very busy. The food came out quickly. Parking lot was full, but I was able to get a spot prettyquickly.
They have many branches. I went to this one because I was late that night because they closed at 11 oclock. The food quality was inferior to other branches. The greeting was also very lazy. I stood in a line and talked. I will try not to go there next time. This room.
The only reason I am giving this restaurant a 1 is because their food is decent. Their service is absolutely horrendous, if you can even call that service. No hellos, no byes, no smiles, horrible attitudes, and never asked us about the food. I do not recommend sitting in, I would suggest as take out.
Many friends recommended this store and have visited it several times. It is indeed very good.
The waitress got the orders wrong for both my Mother and myself and implied the food was suppose to be that way until she checked the order form and realized she was wrong. I insisted on a new plate and she did not give any apology. Service very very poor Food
The guy who collecting the plates he has attitude, rude.. train your employee to be more patience and pleasant to customers. And their tip you have to choose 12%15%20% hilarious I don t mind paying 15 or 20 percent if these employees knows how to be polite and saying hi hello .
Did take out so can t comment on service and atmosphere. Food was good, it wasn t anything out of this world. Nice to have an option on Canadian thanksgiving while i was here for vacation. Parking: Free parking lot in plaza with other restaurants so it s busy
top 5 favorite places in the area for sure!!! definitely must try.
Ive been a regular customer at this restaurant but my experience yesterday was really disappointing. I ordered several dishes, and one of them the garlic sauteed pea sprouts wasnt cleaned properly. I could feel the grit of sand while eating. I mentioned this to the server but instead of an apology they just offered to replace the dish. I didnt want another plate with potential sand so I declined and asked for it to be removed from the bill. However when it came time to pay, I noticed the dish was still on my bill The server who handled our bill was the same one we spoke to about the issue and even after pointing out the mistake, there was no apology for the oversight. This experience really let me down
The food great,The service awesome and Yulli is amazing.
Delicious food and good for big or small group of people gathering
Food is good
One of my favorite restaurants!! The food came within 10 minutes and their standard remain excellent!! Service was always friendly compared to other chinese restaurants!! They have a lot variety of delicious chinese delicacy! Try the clams with black been sauce!! Mmmmm gooooodd!!
Good service and tasty food, stronger recommendations
Rude servers; snarky comments when asked simple questions. Manager should look to retrain/fire these employees. Go to the downtown location, much better experience. Food was also not hot and fresh as usual at other locations. The congee was good though.
The waiters attitude was very bad, which made me wonder if the kitchens attitude towards food was also very bad. I wont go there again next time.
This service makes me want to leave right now
Decent food and decent prices. Im surprised the average view is that low considering places with way worse food and prices are rated much higher
Food is amazing. One guy that goes to the casino all the time (young server with glasses) has poor service BUT literally every other time Ive been I had amazing service. Its a little pricy otherwise Id eat it everyday!
9:15pm The waiter has been reminding the newly arrived guests that it will close at 10pm. If it is not suitable, please go elsewhere. The fact is that the table has been cleared at 930 pm, and the clatter of dishes and chopsticks affects the customers who are still eating, so please pay attention that they lock the door on time. Single items are more expensive, such as white porridge 4.25 cad, but you can try the colorful Neptune New Rice Noodles
Food was really good!
Veggies dishes too much oil were added in stir fry.
Services need a big improvement to how to serve customers. Only went there once, never want to go there again.
as always
Im from Alliston retired there 10 years ago, I really miss Congee Queen and go back when I visit my Son, its great, I also miss Dim Sum
We come here atleast once and month and I have never been let down by the food, service, quality of this place. Absolutely amazing every time. Must try the beef sizzle plate and the bbq duck.
Avoid at all cost. A huge deep fried Beatle or cockaroach in my X.O noodle. Attached pictures. Its rock hard with lots of legs .
Delicious food, nice staff, very Hong Kong style . Love crispy chicken and tiger shrimp with mango over sweet spicy sauce. Big portion.
It can be better
Yuck! The noodle comes with a fly !
I normally enjoy the food. But this time ordered the Curry Chicken on the daily lunch combo meal. The Chicken had bones therefore not much meat (mostly wing parts). Half of the meal were bones. Most other restaurant Curry Chicken use Chicken meat only.
Welcomed by a Hygiene is still a problem.
The food here is so freaking good. Very authentic Chinese food and I love the radish dish. Cost is decent, food is quick to serve, and this is my favourite restaurant overall.
Its not the most delicious restaurant, but one of the most consistent as theyve always had a great menu with lots of options. Service was fast, no delay in food coming out. Bbq meats here are good, just slightly more expensive.
A Hong Kong-style restaurant in which food is delivered with speed and efficiency. That means your food is served in under five minutes. To satisfy your Cantonese fast food fix, try the seafood superbowl congee, wonton noodles, dough fritter rice noodle roll, mouth watering beef stir fry, chicken and mushroom rice hot pots. Be warned, they are very busy and it is challenging to find parking. $$
Ive always enjoyed the food from Congee Queen. However the rude,1 angry and impatient cashier at the takeout register made me lose my appetite. Rushing us to order, we left with more questions about what we ordered. A little patience and grace would go a long way.
I come to Congee Queen once in a while when Im eating later than expected. Very average food and the quality doesnt really justify their higher prices. Service isnt particularly friendly but they are efficient. Slight discount if you pay with cash!
Im a Uber driver. I just 5 mjns, ues the washroom. Is nasty
It was good but could be cleaner. Servers were friendly.
Food is good, not amazing, service is good, place is clean.
Great for groups
Food was good as usual, but needs a bit more A/C considering the number of people
Good-tasting and good-sized portions.
Isn t cash a 50% discount? I bought salt and pepper fresh squid and salted fish and chicken fried rice and added $2 to buy afternoon tea. Charged $39 and no receipt Later I found out it should be $37 $15.5+$17+$2 Its uh money
Not bad for afternoon delights.
A little bit salty on the roasted pork.
The food is not so good. Bland and not properly prepared. The calamari was limp and oily- the salt and pepper taste so iconic to Congee Queen for over a decade was simply not there. As for the noodles, though the portion was heaping, they were nearly flavorless, were very oily, and required chilli oil because they were so bland (addition: no chilli oil or condiments on the table. You have to ask). The congee was seriously lacking in savoriness or distinct taste. And finally the beef and Chinese friend dough rice rolls were not nearly as flavorful as they used to be- beef not very seasoned. The experience was very dissapointing, so dissapointing that we will not be coming back. The dishes are expensive and their quality and taste do not meet that price point (they once did in our estimation).
The epitome of modern day Chinese comfort food Congee queen has been around for years and love how they have opened up so many locations in the past several years. This one in markham is probably now considered one of the OG locations and always enjoy their food If you ve never really been to a congee / noodle house, would recommend trying a couple of the following dishes: pepper salt pork chop, Singapore style turnip Pattie s, the beef go fun for some noodles, preserved egg & lean pork congee (the egg is black, but very tasty) Service is as expected from a Chinese restaurant and they are actually on the better side. Very quick turnover rate and food comes out fairly quickly too In-laws were feeling like lobster this time so we got a few pounds and it was so good. Nice chunky meaty pieces and enough to feed the table of 6. There s is parking available for this row of restaurants that line the plaza, but be weary as before, the plaza beside where the dumpling king is, used to have securty watching where you park and asking you to park on the proper plaza parking Because of this, the parking lot can get packed and filled really quick, so either be patient or park in the back parking lot very far from the resto Great job overall throughout the years!
The foods were so good and big potions. My family go there very often.
Chinese style BBQ meat behind the glass display is unbeatable
The food comes out quickly, the food is high quality and piping hot. The hospitality is attentive and there are free desserts after the meal.
Good service... even on Fathers Day ... our family choose this one for get together dinner. Thank you for all the hard working waiters and waitresses.
We went on fathers day, so expected it to be busy, however, once we were seated we watched parties bigger than our (6 ppl) and seated after us, order and received their food faster than we did. It felt like our table was forgotten which is too bad because the food was yummy, when it eventually arrived. We watched one table of 8 change over twice, when we were seated before them, while we waited for our food.
This is my favorite restaurants. The dishes are okay, not outstanding also not bad. Recently I found the prices are shooting up, well, like many other places but I am little disappointed that they are among them :) Also yesterday had a dish fried groupa with fried been curd, I found the groupa outside layer is hard and obviously not fresh made. I guess its pulled out from fridge and warmed up and put in the sauce. I hardly enjoy the dish due to the hardness and the aged taste but I ate the fish inside. The fish itself is editable but not fresh either - dried. This is a surprise to me - or maybe I havent ordered this dish before. Another soup is okay but lots of MSG. After I told them about the Groupa, they refund me for that dish which is quite reasonable to me so finally I am fine. When the price is high (I remember the dish is $22), I really appreciate that the dishes should be freshly prepared, even not possible, better from the same day! Of course as its my favorite restaurant, I still give them 4 stars as for years I ate here I usually had no problem.
Nice food and friendly staff Parking: When it s peak time, it s difficult to find a parking spot. Food : 5/5 |
Food is agreeable with u, staffs are knowledgeable, service is fast. Clean environment with lots of parking and wheelchair accessible Parking: Lots of tablea Wheelchair accessibility: Yes
I don t know what it is, but the dry-fried beef river tastes too sweet and has no wok flavor. The wontons are super large and use shrimp glue. It s really eye-opening. The soup base is MSG and water. The fried dough sticks are fried flour and are the only bowl of porridge.
Food and service at this location is very good. Also their after meal red bean dessert is now the chilled version with tapioca and grass jelly. If anything, Id come here again just for that! Food : 5/5
Overall it was what you expect! My poor experience was that I got all my food but my plate of roasted pork and duck didn t come. When we finished all the other food, we asked for it because we still wanted to eat it but also with a takeout box instead case we don t finish it. While we were dining in, they gave us a container with the food inside and it was cold so we opened it and ate it at the table. I was disappointed.
My favorite Chinese restaurant in North America. I have to visit CQ everytime I come to Toronto
Really good fried roc dishes. Will order other dishes in the future.
Congee was tasteless, got the A7. Presentation of the food was good, although food was not on par for the value paid. General tao chicken, did not have that fresh crunch or crispy texture. Broccoli was a bit more drenched too soft, either old broccoli or over cooked, simmer in the sauce. Duck was okay. Pro is the service and waiters were fast and efficient. Not so good, is the value paid for the food quality and portion. Went for lunch, on A weekday. Parking: Parking can get limited quickly since its a plaza joined by multiple restaurants alongside each other
Never fails to keep us full !!!
Love the afternoon tea offers. For the same dish I ordered, at East beaver creek location is better.
Very standard delicious chinese food. The malaysian oysters are a go to. Price has gone up subtly over the years. Waiters were constantly standing around next to our table and watching us eat. Was kind of uncomfortable. Food
Rude staff, impatient with kids, and prejudice towards different body types and ethnicity. They assumed we didnt speak Cantonese, but we knew and heard every word. Its unfortunate that management doesnt care. I guess with the level of foot traffic the restaurant has, customer service no longer applies.
Ignored-not just a little-COMPLETELY!! Spoken to once, had to ask for bill after waiting half hour to just see nope had to ask. Food was nothing special, service was ATROCIOUS!!!!! There s an under used word but it fits. Have seen this brand of restaurant all over and thought I d see. First and LAST! $38 later lesson learned. Not even out of parking lot and posting this so pissed
Fried rice restaurant
Bad food and bad service. I came here to eat and ordered fried fish with sweet and sour sauce, but when the food came out, the fried fish was all flour and overfried, making it very dry there was no taste at all and the sauce they kept separate and it tasted of only sour taste of vinegar. I called the waiter over to talk about the problem with the dish and he just answered me So, What do you want me to do? Do u want some satl or pepper I dont think you can answer customers with that voice and attitude. The restaurant was not crowded that day. They had 4 waiters but no one came to take care of customers, they just stood there and talked to each other. Really disappointed with the unprofessional service attitude and food quality here.
My husband orders from them. The front desk lady is really quick and sweet
Ive been to other congee queen locations with much better quality food. This location was over salted and the roasted pork had zero crispy crunch to it.
Very good
Came for lunch the other day. Food was good and price was right. Fast service
Good food and good value.
Great food, great staff, and great prices.
Good food and environment if you can get a parking spot.
Food is always tasty. Price is bit expensive but fine in experience is good
Been to this location many times. It is always busy, and the BBQ meat selections sell out early in the evening...so get there early. Typical Congee Queen food quality...you wont be disappointed. Restaurant closes at 10 pm now post-covid. VIP members get 10% off.
Good food and great service. Good place for family dinner on no-time-to-cook days...
Good price. , good Atmosphere , I am regular customer here!
Great food and service
If youve ever been to Congee Queen, you know what to expect. The food comes out good, Hot & fast! They have a lot of locations now... they must be doing something right!
Lots of booth seating and not busy at opening till 1pm on a weekday. Never heard of this location of this chain. Parking was ample at opening but not sure about the condition during weekends. The congee base was not very impressive; expected better tasting for a restaurant with congee in their name. Fried dough wrapped with steamed rice noodle was great--rice noodle layer was quite thin and fried dough was not exceedingly crispy (due to frying twice). For those who dont know, these fried dough are not made by the restaurant, but rather by an outside provider, and they came already slightly fried. Usually restaurants re-fry them being serving.
Good place to dine. Suggest booking for dinners on Thursday to Sunday for table more then 6.
Great food and attentive staff.
Excellent all round. Only negative was that we were seated close to front door which we think contributed to our food cooling quickly.
Meh, kind of bland. Each dish was not seasoned enough. Very difficult to get a waiters attention, understaffed
Typical Congee Queen, very consistent and food tastes good. Staff here are generally really nice. Lilly in particular is very friendly, and I recognized her from the other Congee Queen locations!
Excellent food. Service and atmosphere could definitely be improved. Roasted pork and shrimps in garlic sauce are fantastic.
This Congee Queen location is by far the best for seating options and food quality. My family has our big Christmas dinners and Dongzhi Festival meals here. It gets SUPER busy and the waitlist can be long, so I would highly recommend getting a reservation! The style of the restaurant here is to order multiple dishes, which are all shareable and come on large platters. Our go-to orders are their seafood congee and roasted duck (I can t live without either dish), their sweet and sour chicken, roast beef and chives dish, their lemon chicken, fried rice (essential), and wonton soup. All of their dishes are consistently delicious and come piping hot out of the kitchen! The service here isn t as attentive as other restaurants, and that s because the servers are constantly on the move, bringing large dishes over, taking orders, and all have to tend to large table groups. So, understand if they aren t as personable; they are VERY busy! Also understand that the restaurant can have loud children and be rowdy; you may have to yell across the table! Again, I highly, HIGHLY recommend getting a reservation, as families are the most common group size. Bring your family and friends for a large feast of delicious Chinese food! Vegetarian options: They have many vegetarian options on their menu. Parking: The restaurant is located in large mall and has plenty of parking. However, spots can become sparse as things get busy! Kid-friendliness: This is the place for big family gatherings. They have booster chairs!
Found meat inside my corn+tofu congee. I called and they didnt even apologize. The person who picked up the phone told me that they use the same pot for all the congees and add the topings accordingly. Idc if you use the same wok or pot for all the dishes. BUT YOU GUYS DONT even RINSE the pots?
Delicious food and dishes. Parking: Lots and accessible parking space. Food : 5/5 |
I ate a bug in the takeout of fried bean sprouts.
This restaurant have always keep good standard, they are not the best, but you can always have a good meal there.
Mushroom porridge (bland Zhuhou Beef Tendon too fatty Ordered via delivery, mediocre taste but decent portion and reasonable price Jinshan Milk Jelly Stir-fried wax glutinous rice Barbecued pork rice roll Stir-fried beef with green onions (average Fried rice with olive greens, green beans and minced meat (tasteless Fried beef for two Crab meat and chestnut rice soup
I am being their customers for long time. However, their food quality are not consistencely. Even you paid tips for picking up.
Aftertaste encourages drinking. Commonly two persons share one dish makes it value for money.
Today I ordered something new on their menu, their fish broth noodle option and you can customize their topping. Looks like they tried to copy Deer Garden. I ordered the Malay Laksa and I was disappointed. Its very Lakluster lol. I ordered beef tendon/wonton and they practically put two of each. You can imagine the beef tendon was pretty much non existence. The laksa season was very minimum, I felt like they measured the laksa seasoning with a teaspoon until the taste was there. I would say this is edible at best. I did like the bounce on the noodle which I ordered the ramen.
I always appreciate the quality and how fast the food is prepared
Well, we ordered online at the wrong location and Tony canceled the order for me. Congee Queen refunded me the cost of the order. Wow! Thank you!!
Called in for take out twice last weekend. Food is always ready when they said it would be. Food is hot and taste great. Parking: There is parking in the front and back of the building, but if you come during busy times, it will be difficult to find parking.
I ordered Uber eats from this location and was shocked at how salty the food was. The hot and sour soup tasted like pure soy sauce and I had to add water to the wonton soup. Ive eaten here in person without this issue before, so it could just be the dishes I ordered.
Very busy Chinese restaurant known for its delicious noodles, awesome congees and authentic food varieties. Dont go on the weekend as it is packed to the rafters, plus you may not find parking. Go during weeknights and try to go early.
Always great.
Except that the cured glutinous rice does not have the same taste and texture as the cured glutinous rice, the other meals are all very delicious! Especially the radish cake, barbecued pork and pork bone porridge!
Jesus! I ordered pick up order last night, and intended to keep the fries rice as kids lunch meal, but it turned out that mixed rices ain t fully cooked as photo I uploaded! As a royal customer to the restaurant, I am fully disappointed for this order!!!
Ordered delivery through UberEats and got the mushroom congee that contained additional food items that didnt belong. There were cut-up green beans and fish maw that tasted sour. I hope thats an indicator that the additions were cooked using a different kind of sauce (instead of being spoiled) and somehow made its way into the congee. How it got into my mushroom congee is still a puzzle. What a disappointment and unpleasant experience.
Roasted Duck definitely is the top among what I ve tried so far that the outskin of the duck is crisply thin and glazed; accompanying with the sweet sour plum sauce, it delivered marvelous texture and flavors. I would like to try more varieties of the other roasted meat considering the top notch roasted duck. About The fried rice with seafood sauce dish, sauce is a bit on the light side, rice is super good, the authentic way to enjoy this dish usually require add-in of vinegar, as there is condiment served on table, so it s not a big problem for me to add in a bit more salt and vinegar. Sizzling beef and mushrooms are zesty, won t be a wrong choice, bit too much oily on the bottom. Fried greens is also good, huge portions. Plus, tried seafood congee takeaway last time, full of seafood, worth it. Additionally, atmosphere is bright, spacious and welcoming, I would like to rate around 4.5 honestly.
Opened Till 11PM
Big dish! Good for more than 3 people to go.
Family fav - always come here to get fish fillet with corn & sweet + sour pork. It does get really crowded and busy, so if you want like a the peaceful and quiet dining experience this isnt it. Bring cash since they give you 5% off if you pay with cash Service is on par with most chinese places in Markham... luke warm but not rude.
I had the L4, Chicken & Preserved Sausage with Rice in Hot Pot, was a flavorful combination that left me craving more. The G8, BBQ Pork with Honey, was a sweet and savory delight that perfectly complemented the overall meal. The restaurants cozy ambiance and friendly service added to the positive experience. A definite go-to spot for delicious congee and more in Markham!
I used to love congee queen but it had gotten way too hyped. I recently ordered take out from here and the portions were smaller than I would have expected for the price. It is a place i would dine in with company but i would not order take out again. There are plenty of other Cantonese restaurants in the area that offer better food and value.
Congee Queen is a great place for Asian cuisine. It s always crowded everyday. The restaurant is very well decorated and tables are very well spaced out. The Ambience is very good . The service is quick. The varieties in the menu are vast. Be it chicken or pork or beef or seafood or vegetables . Everything is served very fresh and hot which is very important when it s Asian cuisine. The taste is very well balanced and flavourful. All the proteins were nice and tender. I have visited Congee Queen many times and every time it s a wow experience. Happy Eating
Two for two no soap in the washroom. Guess who doesnt wash their hands between using the toilet and making your food.
