Good food, quiet atmosphere

The Peking duck here was delicious! After ordering, you have to wait 20 mins for nice fresh crispy duck. Got the whole duck with duck meat and lettuce.

Comfort food and spacious setting. The owners seem to have been doing this business for many years. I don t see passion in serving, but that could be me not understanding the challenges of the industry. Hope this traditional duck roasting technique becomes known and accessible by many!

This place is AMAZING! I dont understand the ridiculously low ratings. It really is a shame that it is placed in a far corner of the Pacific Mall. 10/10 I recommend! Go visit for yourself!

The worst I have ever tried. It s so terrible that I thought they sold out and the cook just used whatever pork is available in the kitchen and made the dish. Serving this to a customer unbelievable.

One of my family s favourite spots for peking duck. We ve been dining at Peking Man Restaurant for a few years (since their old location on Sheppard Ave.), and food has always been consistently delicious, whether it is for takeout or dine-in. Highly recommended!

I remembered that used to be on Sheppard and Leslie. Was best duck meat. Here is the one and only Duck meat place in Toronto...its delicious...and fried rice is amazing as well...

Disappointing! I use to be a regular at Peking Man (original location) for years near Leslie and Sheppard. The Peking Duck: (their signature) Lost flavour and texture. No longer has the crunch on the skin you are suppose to have on the duck and needs seasoning. The plating was mediocre, messy for a place thats main attraction is Peking Duck. The duck extremely greasy. Perhaps dont point the duck butt at your customer Service and Atmosphere: The younger waitress needs serious training. We were surrounded by dirty plates and tables for the entire meal over 1.5hrs. She would occasionally come by and pick up one plate at a time. Eventually, the owner cleared all 4 tables in 2 minutes flat. Food handling: Should consider wearing a hairnet when hovering over the duck and skinning it. Added note, Food should not be held against your body, its not your basket of dirty laundry. Use a serving tray, cart... anything but hug it

Just had lunch here... Food was absolutely terrible. We ordered a steam bun but the bottom was all hard like it was over heated in the microwave.. everything else tasted like reheated leftovers.. ordered a sweet and sour pork and it was lukewarm and had a nasty fridge (smell/ taste)...

Terrible greasy food with small portions. Our dinner was half cooked and the other half crunchy . Also waiter was more interested in his phone than attending to the people . I see a bankruptcy on the horizon for this restaurant unless they change their course of direction

Duck was very dry and was probably leftovers with reheating. Lobsters portion wasnt as stated. Got a whole lobster, missing obvious pieces...

I have the soya bean milk and steamed dumplings for lunch on the first day of Lunar New Year. A nice place but seems lack of staffs. They were so busy to run around and no time to clean the tables, so that the people were lining up outside the restaurant. The food quality is an average. The dumpling skin is quite thick and better to improve.

When here with my hubby and it was so bomb, the food was super delicious and the man serving us was really gentleman. We had an amazing experience at this restaurant, would definitely go back. :)

Its completely different from the old stores products. Last Saturday at noon I ordered Zhajiang Noodles, Beef Burrito, Braised Beef Noodles and the base was Jiajia Noodles, ( Oil minced pork, ten shredded cucumbers and ten noodles are called Beijing Zhajiang noodles , scallion pancakes and beef slices rolled up called beef burritos , only the braised beef noodles taste good and the beef is okay. I won t go there again!

Peking duck with pancakes was good. The seafood soup and chicken fried rice was okay.

Located inside of the Pacific Mall. The food is delicious and the service is great. I definitely recommend.

Went for my birthday. The duck is excellent. Very good food for reasonable prices. And the portions are very big. The decor is a bit dated, but the food is excellent Im going to update my review from 3 years ago. Peking man has become my families favorite restaurant and we go there to celebrate all our special family achievements. The duck is so good, as is the rest of the dishes. My kids love to try new dishes every time we go. The people who work there are very nice, and the new location at Pacific mall is very clean and modern. I would definitly recommend you try it out

The hot and sour soup, peking duck, and lobster dishes are a must-try. The portion sizes were huge, the food was incredibly tasty, and everything was reasonably priced. We came back here a few times and the service is always consistently great.

The duck dish was really good that came with their special dipping sauce. Everything else was good but not exceptional. Overall a nice place to have Chinese dinner with your family.

We were in Pacific Mall yesterday and by chance we saw this restaurant in the mall. We had been in their previous location in North York and it was a good restaurant. We thought we would treat ourselves to their famous peking duck. We ordered the $68 dinner for 2 with half a peking duck, 1 lobster and green beans. The lobster was ok but the rest was terrible. The green beans were literally drenched in oil and thrown onto a tiny plate with dark sauce smeared all over the plate. The peking duck finally came after 30 minutes and it was not anywhere close to a peking duck should look and taste. It was dry and tasteless. When we complained to the waiter, he said the duck was first baked then deep fried. In other words, it was not properly prepared like any other peking ducks you can find in other Chinese restaurants. All in all, a terrible dinner experience. In short, stay away from this restaurant unless you don t mind paying restaurant prices for extremely poor quality food and service.

Food is delicious and not pricey. The server is very nice. I will definitely recommend this restaurant. We will come back for sure.

Had $70 combo for two peopke with half duck, lobster, stir fried bean curd, soup, desert. BBQ duck and lobster is ok but combo doesnt come with any rice or noodle and rest dish not worth for that money. Not recommend combo menus.

Roast duck is done to a new level

Never go this restaurant again, very bad service and food quality. I ordered 1 pecking duck for over $60 , when I opened the box is only half size very small portion. After I try to call owner but they hesitate to answer my phone. They hang up my phone many times. Horrible owner,

Service was overall good. Once order was placed , food was out within 5-10 minutes. It was fast. Quality of the food for the location I would say is fair for the price. The sauces for the dishes were good, a little tad salty. Atmosphere here could use a bit of work. The front counter looks a bit dreadful, and theres a low hum to the area that gets to you.

The roast duck had a fishy smell and the duck feathers were not plucked. It was the worst roast duck I have ever eaten.

The first time I ate white meat with garlic paste, I put the white meat directly into the garlic paste without any other sauce. The duck soup was so weird that I couldn t drink it.

Ordered take out Peking Duck last weekend as a treat and it was the best find in Pacific Mall! The lady we ordered at the restaurant from was so kind and helpful. And the duck was AMAZING!! Generous portion and very tasty! Ordered the second side dish of lettuce wrap and duck, and again, very generous portion and yummy! Looking forward to ordering this dish for Chinese New Year!

Tried their Peking duck this weekend. Very good, will return. Tried their roast duck on the weekend. The price is moderate and the taste is good. recommend!

Ordered the Peking duck & the noodle in the gravy. Sorry to say that I am not impressed, and very disappointed with the noodle in gravy (Not enough gravy to make it like a true Dah Lu Mien )... Not sure if the original Peking Man restaurant on Sheppard E near Leslie was sold to new owner and moved to Pacific mall. I truly miss the one on Sheppard E.

The portion is too, too, too little... The roast duck set meal priced at 54 knives on the app only has so much meat, which is not enough for one person. It also has a bunch of shrimp crackers stuffed in to top it off, which is really hard to eat. The taste is almost the same as that of a barbecue restaurant. My friend, please listen to me and switch to another restaurant immediately after seeing this comment. Don t spend a lot of money and eat alone. P.S. The cucumber strips served with duck are all cucumber meat... Im really convinced

Peking duck is tasty, skin is crispy and meat is juicy. I can feel the chef s passion to make the perfect duck. Prices are reasonable, it s a hidden gem in Pacific mall.

Its a pitiful amount, not enough for a duck. Its a lot of cutting corners. In addition, the prawn balls are not very tasty. All in all, its not worth the price.

The waiter was pleasant and helpful. The Hot & Sour Soup was not hot nor sour; it was watery, thin, and bland. It needed A LOT of extra soya sauce, chilli pepper, and vinegar to become edible. The beef hot plate was also bland. Puzzling. Szechuan Chinese food is characterized by its spices. In fact, Iron Chef Chinese, on the original Iron Chef series from Japan, famously used to say that, for Szechuan Chinese food, Its all in the spices! Suffice it to say, Iron Chef Chinese does not cook at Peking Man Restaurant. Look elsewhere for Szechuan Chinese food.

Very happy to spent a hundred dollars with this restaurant s take out, including unsalted eggplant, uncooked shrimp in the fried rice, the dried dried sweet and sour pork with the less-amount of peaking duck (the most of are duck skins). The last thing: sour or bad tofu in the duck bones soup, then everyone of our family members who ate the tofu was went to washroom one by one :(

Pleasantly surprised as it was our first time here. We were a little hesitant since there was no one there. We had the set meal where w3 had a choice of lobster or fish. They didn t have the lobster and we were a little disappointed. Everything else were very good. The duck was tasty, the fish was good and the beans were ver tasty.

This is not the same restaurant after moving to Pacific Mall. The portions are small, the food is cold, and its unreasonably pricey for what youre given. We ordered the $68, 2 people meal for half a peking duck and 1 lobster. It was about 8 pieces of lobster, and 6 wrappings of duck. This came down to about $85 after tax and tip and we are not full. Do yourself a favor and go to Dragon Pearl for $35 a head, you can get all you can eat peking duck and much much more for the same price.

It tastes terrible and very salty. The waiter acted like I owed him a lot of money. Im really sold on eating such rubbish food for $90. So salty, taste so bad.

Went here to eat at 8pm and there was no one around. It felt so nice to have the place reserved. After waiting twenty minutes for the roast duck, it was still OK. The stir-fried bean sprouts with shredded duck were average, the roast duck meat was a bit overcooked and the bean sprouts were not fresh.

Best duck! I love coming here for fancy duck tacos. The food is good, some dishes are better than others. Great place for large groups and it s not very busy.

I love their peking duck. Slightly more expensive than other restaurants but quality and quantity are worth it!

Their Beijing duck is amazing! I strongly recommend ordering a Beijing duck if youre visitng here! Ordered some rice and other menus too, but one of them came with a hair, so I told about it to the waiter, and they appologized and remade it, which was fine.

It s strange that someone would say this restaurant is delicious? I ordered several dishes last night, but none of them were good enough for rice. The duck meat was powdery, as if it was undercooked, and the fish-flavored shredded pork had no hint of Sichuan flavor. The shrimps were obviously deep-fried and wrapped in a layer of noodles. Fried pancakes simply feel like dough is fried in a pan and then taken out. Its literally zero points.

Peking Duck was a specticle, really enjoyed how the waitress carved the duck by the table. Restaurant is great for large groups and many sharing options. The decor is a little outdated though. Duck was very nicely prepared, everything was tasty and service was very attentive.

This restaurant had been closed down permanently. I have just come by here... what a nice place it was to have pecking ducks. Hope they will open this restaurant at other location.

The quality of the dishes the dishes they cook there is amazing. I am a constant repeat customer, ordering from them every weekend. I love their House Special Fried Rice, theirs sizzling Beef....And their soups are also very good.

The roast duck tastes pretty good. If you add too much soy sauce to stir-fry, the taste is okay. However, the quantity is small and the price is a little expensive. The environment really feels like the 1970s and 1980s. It is not a suitable place for dating. I don t recommend coming here often^_^

Packing duck is good at cooking

Straight to the point: - Interior design seems cheap. - Service is terribly SLOW. - Staff are kind, but pay little attention to the customers... - Servings are just fine but the quality of the food doesnt surprise me... taste is average. - Peking duck was decent. Problem I encountered: - I purchased A whole Peking duck, when the dish arrived, a kind lady sliced the pieces for us and placed it on a large plate (about 50% of the whole duck). For the second course, we ordered bean sprouts (added with the remaining duck) however, when the dish arrived, it did not seem like the remaining amount (maybe 20% of the duck was probably added). I was left wondering with happened to the remaining parts. After eating, I paid for the bill and just as I finished my transaction, I see that the table beside me was served with all the remainings of the Peking duck! I asked the server what dish it was and she said that it was a stir fried Peking duck (the remaining). Now... what frustrates me is that they never gave this option to me nor have they mentioned it. I felt like I just wasted money on this restaurant... I will NEVER return here again.

Come for the duck only. Not much else on the menu is good. Need to wait about 25 mins for the duck to be ready so dont go last minute, or order that immediately once you get there (look at the menu afterwards)

Been 17 years since the last visit. Quite surprise how nice it is. Reasonably priced. Food are fresh. Only suggestion... really need to update the environment. But. Would return again. Duck is nice, fish is fresh. Satisfied.

Good Chinese food with good space for big groups.

Ordered three dishes and rice yesterday. Person taking the call was friendly and informative. Price came to $63 something and I decided to give a $3 tip. Payment was cash, and was composed of three $20 bills and mostly higher denominations of change. Delivery driver muttered and sighed about the change, which half was his. Order came in cute-little transparent plastic containers. Food was hot on delivery, 2.5 km away. From competing restaurants, when I order $50, I could feed four people and have leftovers for another two or three small portions. I was able to feed two people and with leftovers for two people. Chicken fried rice was boiled rice. Soggy. Partially still white. The beef oyster had lots of meat, a few strings of what look like onion and 10 pieces of broccoli. Lemon chicken was a poor serving. Tasted ok. The bread was falling off and wet. Meat was dry. Chicken Chow Mein tasted okay. Lots of chicken, very little been sprouts and no hard Chow Mein noodles to the side as requested. Everything except for the rice tasted good, not great. No sparkling flavor at all. Low in salt. (Better than too much I guess) Due to the 13 extra dollars and smaller proportions, and that the delivery driver was not happy to work there, we will not be going back again. If the portions were bigger or similar price as Im used to playing I would give a second chance.

The worst Chinese restaurant Ive eaten in. I would give it no star if I can. The Peking duck was a strange orange colour and very dry. The dish were cooked different than what we normally get. But it didnt taste that good. The best dish was the sweet tofu pudding like dessert!

This place has been around forever, a little run down, but the food is great. We love having lunch here and always ordered spicy beef noodles and beef pancake/wrap. At night we like peking duck

Great eggplant dish.

Ive lived in the area for over 30 years and always thought this was a hole in the wall. Just went here and food is surprisingly good despite no other stores and restaurants nearby. Would definitely prefer Peking Man over some other chinese restaurants in the area (or in more populated malls)

This place is great, amazing, fantastic and I really like it!!! 365 days of Christmas lights, hanging silk plants and wood is infectious!! It s old school decor. Don t be critical on the looks! In fact soak it in, it grows on you as you giggle! I know you will have a great time here. The food is Chinese- Canadian. Not authentic Chinese, but the stuff Canadians that don t like chicken feet, nao ma guy, or smelly Tofu would love. I m kidding, no one likes smelly tofu!!!! OMG! That stinks!! Don t get me started!!! I digress, Peking Man Restaurant deserves to be 100% full Mondays and Tuesdays!!! BECAUSE...Mondays and Tuesdays is ALL U CAN EAT for $14.99!!!! Get over here now!!! I have tried many famous Peking duck resturants in China. ... The Peking duck here is not the crispiest, but the taste is the best.

Not Bad if you want some peking duck, worth a visit Paid around 40$ for a whole duck which is the standard price. We got lots of slices from the duck to make our little pancake rolls, and they cut the rest of the duck (bones etc.. and gave us which we took home) I Love Pecking Duck with the pancakes, onions, sauce etc... Our craving was satisfied. Service wasnt bad, restaurant wasnt too busy because we came early around 5 pm. Venue: Very cute cozy Asian restaurant. Lots of decorations. Looks better than many Ive seen

I used to live really close and we would go there a lot, but it is still really nice. Try the dim sum here sometime instead of the lunch combo. The lunch combo might give u a lot of food, but the dim sum is soooo gooood.

Peking duck was flavourful but a bit oily. The lettuce wrap with duck was a bit bland but portion was huge. There is also a small dim sum menu as well.

Really, really, *really* bad service from the woman at the front + extremely slow to tend to waiting customers.

My go-to place for Peking duck, generous portion for very reasonable price. Meat is flavourful and skin is crispy. They serve the wraps in a set of four bamboo steamers to keep it warm for longer, and the wrap is paper thin. Highly recommended if you are craving roasted duck.

It was a great restaurant. I was a bit disappointed that they didnt have my name in the reservation but luckily there were some empty tables. I was surprised that they had a menu in Korean. It helped me a lot. I hoped that the servers understood English better as they couldnt explain well about their set menu only in Chinese. Overall, I was very satisfied that their Peking duck had just the same taste I had in China. Other dishes were also very good.
