8261 Woodbine Ave #8, Markham, ON L3R 8Z5, Canada
大多區最富盛名的點心餐廳之一,早午茶市,晚飯小菜,各款精選套餐,必有一款合你心水。 是您聚餐,舉辦會議、婚宴的理想之地。 Here is one of the most prestigious dim sum restaurants in the Greater Toronto area, with a wide selection of dim sum, dinner specials, and various set menus, one of which surely suits your palate. It is the ideal place for your gatherings, meetings, and wedding banquets.
One of my favourite Cantonese restaurants in the city! Love the Peking duck, suckling pig, and of course the char siu! The dim sum is fantastic and the menu is so vast while dinner always hits the spot
The food was great, but I would never go back. I went to the restroom to wash my hands before the food came out and before I left. There was a cleaning staff in the women's restroom, and I thought she was in the restroom to clean. But she was still standing against the wall in the women's restroom even though she finished cleaning. I don't know what work instructions the restaurant gave her, but making someone stand in the restroom the entire their working shift is a horrible human rights violation. The restaurant needs to ensure she has a proper resting area. I won't be coming back until the restaurant treats her as a human being.
Food: I attended a wedding here and experienced their 10-course meal, which was one of the better ones I've had, and I've been to quite a few. The presentation of most dishes was nicely done, and the food had the traditional flavors you'd expect from classic dishes. They also offer vegetarian options too! Service: The staff were efficient, professional, and attentive, which pleasantly surprised me, as getting staff's attention at Asian weddings can sometimes be challenging. They were also very helpful with the setup, which added to the smoothness of the event. Ambiance: This venue is ideal for smaller wedding parties, though there's a column in the middle that obstructs the view of the stage, making picture-taking a bit tricky. Aside from that, the facility was clean and included both a bridal and groom suite. They also offer various table settings and tablecloth colors to match the wedding theme. The décor is typical of an Asian restaurant, with chandeliers and lighting, but I still found the atmosphere enjoyable.
To compare the traditional cuisine of Hong Kong with that of Toronto's Chinatown, we decided to try this restaurant in Markham, recommended by a friend. We did not regret it at all. The food was exceptional, with high-quality dim sum. Each piece was generous, hot, and impeccably fresh. The presentation was well done, and the menu offered original options for a group of several people. The service was flawless, and the dishes were served quickly. The quality/price ratio is reasonable.
Overall Experience, 3.25/5: Overall, I would come back because the quality of the food and the reasonable prices outweigh the poor service. It may have just been an off day, and I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt. Food/Drink, 4/5: The food that was available was quite good, with many dishes cooked well and tasting delicious. We tried the shrimp dumplings, red pork, and shumai. The portion sizes were significantly larger than what you'd typically expect from dim sum. Pricing, 4.5/5: The pricing was quite reasonable, especially considering the amount of food we received. Service, 2.5/5: The service was far from ideal. Our server was rude, and most of the dishes we wanted were already sold out. She offered no assistance, simply tossing the menu at us and informing us that certain items were no longer available. Aesthetic/Atmosphere, 3/5: The restaurant was quite spacious, and it had a nostalgic vibe with its large fish tanks filled with fish, lobsters, and crabs.
The food was great and the quality of all the dim sum we had was very high. They were all fairly big pieces of dim sum and everything was hot and fresh. They have great presentation and some interesting options, including the dessert platter. The service was great and our food came relatively quickly.
Foods was okay, the waitress who services us was not nice nor friendly. Didn't check on us nor replace our plate. I like Yu seafood, and The Crown Prince Dine Banquet and couple others good restaurants for dim sum. First time with my family and I am not impressed with the atmosphere, foods and where they put us in the box in the 1st pic. . We couldn't even finished our foods. 1st pic is where we were seated ruin my moods it was not a wow. Sad, will I go back mostly not. Sorry just express my experience, with foods and service we received.
Parent restaurant of The One Fusion Cuisine. Skyview is known to be the top 5 dim sum restaurant in the GTA. You better be prepared to come early to avoid line ups especially on the weekend. Knowing the staff for decades, I finally got to have dinner here for the first time. Came here to celebrate my birthday and I got to say their specialty dishes are made to perfection. It is on the pricer side but you are getting the quality and experience that you paid for. Worth it! Also known the owner since I was young, I must say they do care and are passionate about their food and clients!
Waited for over an hour in the cold for a party of 4. Not worth, better dim sum places around the city
I recently tried the Eight Treasure Duck, Winter Melon Soup, and Mustard Beef. The Eight Treasure Duck and Winter Melon Soup are both priced at $80 each, offering excellent value for their portions, which are sufficient for 10-12 people. The duck was flavorful with a variety of ingredients, making it a standout dish, while the soup was light, refreshing, and well-balanced a perfect complement to the richness of the duck. The Mustard Beef, priced at $36, felt slightly overpriced. While the portion size was generous, the dish was underwhelming. The beef was tender but over-marinated with baking powder, which compromised the natural flavor, and the mustard sauce was overly salty, masking the dish s potential. Recommendation: The sauce for the Mustard Beef could be improved by reducing the saltiness and balancing the mustard flavor to better highlight the meat s taste. Overall, the Eight Treasure Duck and Winter Melon Soup were delicious and great for large groups. With some tweaks to the Mustard Beef, this meal could become a more balanced dining experience. Probably it s on Friday night, overall services are good. 20/12/2024 This is my second review for this amazing restaurant, and they continue to impress! We visited for a family dinner of 10 during the winter festival, and despite the full house, the experience was fantastic. As returning customers, we enjoyed some of our favorites like the Eight Treasure Duck and Winter Melon Soup both were just as excellent as before. The surprise of the night was a new dish: the Three-Onion Shrimp in Clay Pot. It was perfectly fried with spring onions, sweet onion, and ref shallots. The combination of the onions and king-size shrimp created a beautiful balance of onion aroma and seafood flavour. Simple yet absolutely delicious! The other dishes maintained the same excellent standard, and the service was good. But the real standout was the chef s artistry. The attention to detail in every dish showed the skill of a true culinary master. This restaurant never fails to deliver, whether it s revisiting old favorites or trying new creations. Highly recommend it for family gatherings or special occasions!
here is so noisy and the waiters were unprofessional.
If you don t have a reservation, don t come. Walk in guests will have to wait forever to get a table. We waited 1.5 hour and finally decided t go somewhere else because there s always 2 tables in front of us.
So far so good
No matter how much I eat, this place is still delicious. I especially like the salty bone porridge. You can order it at 11 oclock at another restaurant, but you can order it right after opening the door at this restaurant. I also like fish skin dumplings, which you can t get elsewhere. They are very fresh and delicious, and the price is not expensive. A few of us ate more than 100 yuan, which is almost less than 20 yuan per person.
I ordered the roasted sausage but got beef sausage. The roasted sausage that came out was not hot and was very thin The bird cage is worth the meal, we recommend Liu Xin Jian Dui Egg White Egg Tart Durian Egg Tart The skin of Salty Water Corner D is too thick I ordered the roasted sausage but got beef sausage. The roasted sausage that came out was not hot and was very thin The bird cage is worth the meal, we recommend Liu Xin Jian Dui Egg White Egg Tart Durian Egg Tart The skin of Salty Water Corner D is too thick Lotus paste cake 2024/11/29 The most important thing for Chinese dim sum is to be hot enough, and it can be done at this temperature The overall quality of the food is OK What I especially like is the steamed pork ribs with black bean pepper It s hard to find such a beautiful portion in the supermarket The Snow Mountain BBQ Pork Buns have a strong alcohol taste D The steamed rice roll skin is thin enough but the filling is too thin, so the food feels scratchy During the meal, the Asian sister changed the bone plate with me, and we had a long tea market There is no service charge added to the bill in advance 2024/12/13 The Snow Mountain Barbecued Pork has a crispy exterior that melts in your mouth, and is tender and juicy on the inside. It makes you feel full and warm after eating, which is definitely a highlight. The beef rice roll skin is thin and smooth, but the beef filling is loose and the flavor is not rich enough, which makes it a bit dull. The shrimp dumplings are filled with shrimp meat and have a solid texture, but it would be more perfect if the noodles were thinner. The rice noodles in the Barbecued Pork Rice Noodles are so special, they won t rot even when soaked in water, and they still have a chewy texture. The barbecued pork is semi-fat and lean, rich in texture, fat but not greasy, but a bit salty. It must be eaten first with other things. The fresh bamboo roll has a thin and crispy skin, and the filling is full of flavor, making it very satisfying to eat. The most disappointing thing was the canned soup dumplings. The shrimp inside tasted strange and not fresh enough. The taste was also bland and nothing outstanding. Overall, some dishes are outstanding and worth trying, but some can still be improved.
Always a crowd pleaser. Quality dipped for a few months IMO. Quality has bounced back, love it.
Love the dim sum here. Fresh and tasty with a good selection. Make reservations as it get super busy around 10:30-11:00 onwards. Food
We called ahead to make a late night reservation which they did accept. The whole time they were rushing us and very rude. Took the plates to clean the table fast but the plates weren t finished. The female servers telling us to hurry up and eat so she can clean up and go. Our bill was over $900. The biggest waste. Our first and last time here.
Won t be coming back here. Food took almost an hour to come out and when I requested to cancel certain dishes, the server Anissa told me I cannot cancel, waited another 10 minutes for my food to arrive. I had not experienced this terrible type of customer service before at skyview. Never had issues with cancelling, until the server named, Anissa.
I rate them 2 stars because when we got there we waited about 2-3 hours. Mind you it was extremely busy! Upon arrival they make u get a number and kept telling us that the wait is only 30 mins, as time went by they just kept telling us that its 10 mins, 30 mins. It was definitely annoying! People that got there after us went in way before us as the numbers were being called. I went to the counter countless times and they told us that we missed our number. We had 6 people with us, are u telling me that 6 sets of ears didnt hear them call our number? It was crazy. The food wasnt even the greatest. Wish I could say that the food was good and I would come back but I wouldnt go there again.
A really bad dinner with friends. What the hell is that pumpkin soup? What came out turned out to be sour, the signature barbecued pork was just awesome, the dried wood stems... It cost a lot of money, and I was once again disappointed with Cantonese food.
Impressive way of handling client injuries. There is no disinfection, no medical treatment, no free orders or discounts. Is it a female employee, Nancy? Stephen asked a man to come and see me. He said I was fine and helped me put tape on it. Later, I developed pus and pustules due to their improper treatment. Holding a spoon while eating can cause injuries from unknown substances! Later, I used tape to stick it until it broke inside, and now I have pustules on my fingers. June 7, 2023 Table No. 37 It didnt say that the bill would be waived, and the way to consume was the rural way, spending money for Yilongtian employees. Because no one responded to me positively, I gave negative comments. Everyone should open their eyes to see the level.
Made a reservation for dim sum. Had to wait for 2 hours after checking in. Whats the point of a reservation then? There are many other Chinese restaurants. Poorly managed restaurants dont deserve the hype.
I am EXCELLENT
The food was pretty good. I recommend the tofu. Besides the food, we had to wait a hour and a half just to eat. The person at he front named ANNIE let a group of people in although we came in first and it looked like they did not know about the number system they use. Other reviews say that ANNIE would let people in if they bribed her with money to bubble tea and I think that is true. I gave it a two stars just because of the food, the other three stars depend on the service and atmosphere. service or atmosphere than one star.
It was not busy at all, and there was no queue either. I can see several empty tables right there, but they just wont let me in. Well, congrats to the boss for having such a fine employee!
Great and tasty food with attentive staff
The service is terrible, all the waiters are like uncles
Very tasty and affordable Chinese food
Very good, very good
If you dont know anyone working here, dont bother coming. The food is not worth it.
Barbecued pork is too high-end
Completely mismanaged disaster. Apparently a 15 min wait means 2 hours of calling random numbers out of order. The hostess needs to be replaced with someone competent. Food was ok but the quality is lower during busy times. There were also multiple flies inside the restaurant that kept hovering over the food and had to be constantly swatted away.
The food was very good, but when it came time to pay, the waiter was very rude and kept staring at you and tipping you. Very bad experience
Long waits, but good food
The food is okay. The male waiter in a suit is asking for tips and he doesn t provide good service. He won t leave until he is given enough I will never go there again.
This is a very delicious breakfast in the Markham area, and it ranks among the top three in my heart. There are many people queuing up every time I go, and it takes about half an hour to get a seat on average.
One of the Best Dimsum places in Markham.
I called and ordered take out for just the bbq pork and roast pork, they asked me to come in half an hour to pick up the food. I was there on time and they asked me to wait, after waited for another half an hour, I asked for a refund because they kept giving out orders to other people but skipped mine. They didn t want to refund the money so they finally made my order. My son was there waiting with me hungry, they saw it but they cared less. It s outrageous that they were half an hour behind of the estimated take out time. My order only have two things, how did it take one hour to just chop and put in the box? If they really need to take this long, they should have told me it needs an hour wait. There was another time I ordered just one bbq pork for take out, they made me waited there for so long. When I approached the cashier and inquired, she told me my order was sitting there beside her. She forgot about me who was waiting in front of her! The service there was horrible my family decided we won t come back here and let everyone knows about the experience.
Great atmosphere, clean dining room. Delicious dishes. Loved it. It is not crowded during the weekdays if you come early.
Skyview is always a pleasure to go and enjoy the food. They offer great variety in terms of options, plenty of seating. Would highly recommend you make reservations before coming here. Food : 4/5
Good consistent quality. Service varies and sometimes there is a large wait time
Maybe the chef has changed. I came here a year ago, but I tried it again this time. It tasted terrible and tasteless. Think before you act.
Love dim sum
When I came to Toronto, I tried this restaurant. The food was big and delicious, the price was not expensive, and the service was pretty good. I should try this restaurant.
They take a long time to get people seated and they don t sit people base on who came in 1st. We had to wait hour+ to get seated.
Wait too long, and some people know the manager and they will give some tip for them to get the short cut
This restaurant mainly caters to regular customers. Regular customers can go in directly without queuing. Regular customers would state that they had a queue and the manager would lead them in. This is obviously queue-jumping behavior. Even if its your turn next time, if a regular customer comes in, your seat will be given to them. This performance is very poor. We are all consumers, but we are treated differently. If you want service, dont come here. You have this queue experience and you dont even want to enjoy the food. In addition, I saw regular customers giving tips to the manager and then the manager took them in. We went one after another, but it was never our turn. Have been waiting for an hour. If it weren t for the high marginal cost, I would have left long ago. This restaurant primarily caters to regular customers. When regulars arrive, they dont need to queue and can go straight in. They often claim they have already lined up, and the manager will lead them inside. This is clearly cutting in line. Even if your number is next, if a regular customer arrives, your spot will be given to them. This is such poor treatment. Were all consumers, but were treated differently. If you want good service, dont come to this place. After experiencing this kind of queue system, you wont even feel like enjoying the food.
Best dim sum
Nothing outstanding but definitely not a bad choice either.
Really bad service
Why is it so hard to get things right? I had a long wait to get a table...the waiter was terrible and the food mediocre at best. My BBQ duck was undercooked and pink. I complained and sent it back. My scallop dim sum was dry and tasteless. The broccoli was delicious but 13$ for brocoli? Ridiculously stupid! I will NEVER go back! NO thanks...NO way! P.s. I see that they had problems with health depth too!
The place is always busy, the lines are long but worth the wait. Huge portions of food with affordable price and the food are delicious. If your group has more than 6 people, considering book a reservation in advance.
Great Dim sum and dinner is ok
Good.
Best cha siu, chandeliers need washing but the worst thing is the toilets. Very, very tight.
Um I have a headache but pretty food.. door was open kinda cold
Mediocre dim sum. Bad service even by Markham standards. Always inexplicably busy, and you have to wait even if you have a reservation because the staff will let their friends and family in before you. Not worth your time.
Barbecued pork ceiling, barbecued pork is the most authentic
Saw a live mouse running around next to us while we were there for dim sum. Didn t even get a discount!! But the manager dealt with it with mouse trap immediately, which is good. Still really gross.
Shark fin soup when importation of shark fins are banned - except for scientific research. How is this allowed??? Please don t support
The bbq pork is very good. Over all the dishes are good at reasonable prices. The service is terrible Even if you have reservations. Atmosphere is nice, but typically very loud.
Dietary restrictions: Food
Tastes good, service is basic, there are bugs in the dishes
every week
Came for dimsum the other day. They offer patio seating however the food was just okay. Didn t think any of the dishes stood out in any way compared to other dimsum places
Love this dim sum spot. Came on a Saturday noon time and it was packed. Luckily they had space on the patio. The portions here are huge and the flavor does not disappoint. Would come here everytime for dim sum.
One of the best Authentic Chinese Restaurants in Toronto. Must try the delicious BBQ pork
The service attitude is so bad
The attitude is very bad and the front desk is indifferent. If we dont speak Cantonese, wed better not come here.
If you are looking for reserving a table here, DO NOT! They dont reserve a table for you in advance, so you still need to line up for it after you come. We came ON TIME but they said they dont have the table for us. We still have to wait. I dont know what is the point for making the reservation I made a reservation a week in advance, and when I arrived on time, I was told there was no table. I asked why they didnt give me a seat even though I arrived on time. They replied that they would open at 9 oclock and wouldnt hold a table for me. I understand that you wont reserve a seat for me from the moment the door opens, but its really excessive for you not to reserve a seat for me and wait for 10 to 20 minutes when Im about to arrive. Before I came in, there was even a large table that lined up without a reservation. Then I would like to ask, if I make a reservation, it is worse than waiting in line. Who am I? Update: We ends up waited for 45min before getting seated. With a large group we got a small table that we can barely squeeze in. Staffs refused to switch a table for us knowing that there is an empty table. They said, Its the correct size for the number of people we have. We found later that the empty table we saw had WAY LESS GUESTS than us. VERY DISAPPOINTED.
Its really unbelievable that in such a large restaurant, the West Lake beef soup is made with shredded lettuce instead of coriander. ?
Really bad service. Waitress and waiters are rude. Food is mediocre. Would not recommend and will not come again.
The food was bad no flavor and it was cool I ask for some water it took 30 minutes
Food is quite bland and does not taste very fresh at all. Service is also not very good. The food in the bird cage dish also tastes a bit stale and not worth the price at all. I do not recommend.
Prices are above average but portion sizes are huge. Siu mai and har gao are absolutely gigantic compared to other places and very high quality. Definitely well worth the money.
The BBQ pork is excellent. Also, it is a good place to enjoy some unique vegetarian dishes too. Vegetarian options: Original seasonal with various vegetables.
Found a hair in my food the waiter was very rushed and rude do not recommend
ABYSMAL
Recommend the barbecued pork cakes and snow mountain buns
Amazing food
Very rude lady on the phone, literally got yelled at and hung up on for asking about reserving a room.
THE WORST DINING EXPERIENCE EVER Permanent Blacklist this restaurant Very disappointing dining experience We made a reservation at 11:00 AM and had to wait another 45 minutes. It was very cold today and they asked us if we could dine outdoors again They gave me 5% tips and scolded me for why I was given so little. Saying that I waited 45 minutes is not an excuse. You shouldnt be charged so little. If its a Western restaurant, Id already give you a 10% or 15% discount... Is this a high-end Western restaurant? Is it reasonable to have to wait for another 45 minutes after Ive made a reservation? I had a reservation today for 11:00 AM, but despite booking in advance, I had to wait an additional 45 minutes to be seated. To make matters worse, even though it was very cold today, the staff asked me to sit outdoors, which was uncomfortable and frustrating. When I paid a 5% tip due to the poor experience, I was scolded by the staff, who insisted I should have tipped 10% or 15%. Considering the long wait and being seated outside in the cold, their attitude was completely inappropriate. A tip is based on service, and this experience was far from satisfactory.
Gigantic and delicious Dim Sum !
Very Disappointed with the dim sum. Quality and taste have gone down
Today, the three of us arrived at 11:30 a.m., and there was only one table in front of us to wait for. But I saw that they only let regular customers sit there, and then gave them to regular customers when there was a table available. This practice is annoying and disrespectful to people waiting for a table. fair. . Finally, when she saw that I was impatient and asked her, she let us sit at a table for six people. This proved that she did not give tables to how many people there were, but gave them to regular customers first, so I Feeling very angry
Skyview Fusion Cuisine offers an exceptional dim sum experience! The *sui mai* was the highlight for me steamed to perfection with tender meat and a fresh shrimp garnish. The service was friendly and efficient, and the whole dining experience was smooth and enjoyable. If youre looking for delicious dim sum in Markham, this place should be at the top of your list. Highly recommend the *har gow* and BBQ pork buns as well!
Great service. Great food.
My family lpves this place. They are very friendly and accomodating. The price is right
Food was ok, not bad. But the utensils, dishes, plates, and the teapot were disgusting. The stains are from another dish, seems like they just reuse without washing... For the price im paying i rather go down a block to the other restaurant.
The food was excellent however at the end of our meal we had paid and were talking and basically we were getting ready to leave when they basically asked us to leave because they said there was a big line up. However, when we left there was only 3 people waiting we were a table of six and we were there for just over an hour and we had just spent 200 dollars for our dim sum. We found it rude.
Amazing Dim Sum. Very generous servings. More expensive but very good value compared to less expensive dim sum. Last visit was disappointing. Not the food but the manager s attitude. Food : 4/5
Upscale chinese restaurant. Dim sum is served in large portions, but on the pricier side. Good chinese restaurant with nice atmosphere to host friends and guests. Suggest that you make reservations if you plan to have dim sum on a weekend. Same owner as The One. It is conveniently located next to Costco.
2024 June update I upped their eating from 4 to 5stars !! We went back a few times for dim sum. Its crowded and long lines but the food was delicious and reasonably priced. Well done. They are now my top choice for dim sum and dinner. Its amazing how they have improved since COVID. 2023 June update I made an special effort to update my review for this restaurant because it has redeemed itself many times over since my last visit 2 years ago. We came here for dinner twice within a week and the service and quality exceeded my expectations. We had 4 x 4lbs of lobsters and each was cooked differently. Our favourite was the flavour. We preordered the , half a little pig....and they were fantastic. And we ordered from the menu the regular stuff....fish, sweet and sour pork, veggies.... And dessert mango gello and green tea gello were great. The werent consistent. The first time we went, it was perfect...lots of beans....but the 2nd time was terrible.... Service was attentive and pleasant. ******* Original Review There were very limited menu selection and prices are inflated. And the menu items were not that interesting. The seating was also too close to the next table. The manager said there was 6ft. 1/3 of the menu is BBQ stuff which you could get take out for 1/2 the price. $23 for an order of BBQ pork !!! I understand they need to make money desperately. But you gotta at least pretend to give some good value so your customers will come back. We wont be going back unfortunately.
Update July 5, 2024 - We hosted our son and daughter in law s wedding banquet here. Since they don t live locally anymore, my husband and I basically organized the event by ourselves. Lily and later Patrick were such a great help with suggestions and help with the logistics before the dinner. On the night of the dinner they were there with us all the way to make sure things went smoothly. They even helped with the tea ceremony for those who couldn t make it to our house earlier in the day. The wait staff were attentive and so good. Not mention the well prepared food for all our guests. We also received great feedback from all our guests. Note we had 17 tables! 2019 a Excellent dinner, attentive staff and would recommend it for a nice dinner or special occasion.
We had a banquet dinner here, the service and food were both excellent. Some of my family members enjoyed the food so much they went back the second day for dim sum!
Amazing From the door to table We went as a family of 9 And was seated within 20 mins after our lunch time reservation. Food was great and fast Dietary restrictions: My kid has peanut and shrimp allergies and wasnt itchy eating the other types of food
Stupid reservation system. Don t go unless you want to wait for 1 hour even with reservation
Bad service
Sunday morning customers would line up for 9am opening. Never disappointed with their dim sum.
I don t recommend this place. Being there for the 1st time, I asked for some questions , like the portion of the food and so on. We are not a big eater and asked for small portion. We didn t get the information we were looking for and they just asked us to choose this plate , that place and so on. We were surprised when we received our order ( fried rice and fried noodles ) we got the fried rice 1st and asked to cancel the other since too much. They refused to do so. It s not about paying . But about wasting of food. They didn t offer water . We had to ask for it. Most of the restaurants they serve you with water 1st and then start taking orders. We didn t appreciate the welcoming. The food was not good and asked for tips which is obligatory 10%. I refused to pay tips when the service is not good and also the food. If you merit it, I don t hesitate to give it.
Good dimsum. A little pricey but everything is now
My sister and I visited on a Wednesday around 10:30am and there was no wait for a table for two. The dim sum menu is quite inventive and we explored both some new and some classic options though we felt the classic dishes tasted better: pig s trotters in black vinegar well simmered, great texture fresh seafood roll bean curd roll very crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside chive coriander fish rice roll fresh and delicate black rice chicken rice roll - looks interesting, not much flavour or uniqueness otherwise classic chiu chow dumpling - dumplings too big, skin too thick and very heavy on jicama, not much meat or peanuts beef tendon and wheat puff in chu hou sauce - the tendons and wheat puff were either pre steamed or boiled then cooked only briefly with the chu hou sauce; tendons were still tough and sauce was not flavourful enough, did not permeate the proteins Staff were quite nice and attentive. One drawback to our meal was that the table linens smelled musty - our tablecloth had the scent of an old wet towel and it was hard to ignore. Overall still an impressive menu and I am interested in coming back to try the more complex / original dishes that are available after 11am.
food not as good as before
This restaurant was highly recommended by a friend so we were excited to try. Unfortunately the food fell short and lackluster. It seemed like most items were over steamed / overcooked as the dumpling skin was breaking and the fillings a bit tough. Tea and water is also charged $3 per person
We had not come to this restaurant for a long period of time. The food quality is well kept. The BBQ pork, Suckling pig and Soya sauce chicken are very tasty.
Food was amazing! My wife loves seafood and the same as my kids. Food was fast and service was impeccable. There was a wedding at the same time but since we booked way ahead of time, they put us in a private room.
Love this place. They set up some extra sitting outside. Roast pork is always good.
UPDATE: I was here again yesterday with friends to eat dimsum. After paying the bill with tip, the server came up to me complaining that tip I had given was not sufficient and demanded more $$$. I was shocked by this gesture and it seems like a lot of Chinese restaurants demand more than 15% tip by default. What a shame... I will not return to this restaurant. *** I usually dine-in for dimsum and order BBQ pork on rice for take out. Its a must try.
Came in a weekday morning to avoid the infamous crowds and finally give this place a try. There was barely anyone here and that should have been a sign. Nothing wrong with this place, but either their food has changed or it has been overhyped. We ordered most of their recommended dishes and food was mediocre at best. Maybe we should have come for lunch to try their famous bbq pork which starts at 11. But after our underwhelming dim sum experience we didn t bother. Prices are also much higher than other places (no S/M/L promo pricing)
Great Chinese (Cantonese) food with excellent quality and generous portions. Competitive prices lead to high demand, particularly on weekends and holidays.
Pretty good spot for dim sum. The dumpling are large and portion sizes are good overall. Its quite busy, but service was prompt. We sat outside so we didnt have to wait in line for a table.
Their outdoor setup is amazing given the circumstances with covid. The food is as good as it always was
Im giving this place a 4 stars for a few reasons. - I called ahead of time to just see how long the wait time is, given it is a weekend so I would understand if its busy however. I was organizing a team lunch for my husbands work and I just wanted to know just incase we would have to wait. The lady on the phone and I quote Why are you calling I have no time to answer your question. - We got there, we waited around 1.5 hours. They have indoor and outdoor seating however the sudden thunderstorm that hit Markham had all the outdoor tables come inside so there was a even longer wait time. Some people who were sitting outside were standing while finishing their food lol - The food itself, I say was okay. Hence the 4 stars. Ive been to many different dim sum places and have better quality. The chicken feet was lacking alot of flavour. The short rib was very bland. The special chow mein egg noodle was very salty HOWEVER the service when we finally sat down saved the rating. If the service was just like the lady otp with me this wouldve been a 2 star rating at max. - atmosphere is very nice. Huge space very bright just inbetween tables was very tight but it was very jammed packed during dimsum lunch hour. - At the end I saw the workers were very stressed so my table helped them clean up out of courtesy (which should be a normal thing by the way!!! Some of yall eating in restaurants leave it a mess and should clean up after yourselves smh) - For 5 people, we ended up spending $170 total which in all honesty, is a great deal. Would I come here again? Probably for their seafood in the tanks or their specials which we unfortunately did not experience. Would I recommend this place? In all honesty I do just.. be ready to wait almost 2 hours for a table & dont call them just go and hope Vegetarian options: Vegan options are available, ask server for more detail
Extra long wait compared to other domain place. Wouldn t take reservations!
Good tasting BBq pork with rice noodle Big Sui Mei
This is a high end and one of the best dim sum restaurant in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area). It is located in 8261 Woodbine Avenue in Markham. It offers Chinese, Seafood, Asian, Cantonese, and Hongkong style cuisine. It provides Dining, Takeout, Reservations, and has outside seating. It is also wheelchair accessible. The food is tasty and dim sums come in a square bamboo/wooden box instead of the more traditional round bamboo steam basket.
One of the older, more dated dining rooms of the GTA dim sum scene and on the smaller side. They pushed the patio seating option hard to non regulars but anyone who eats dim sum regularly knows that the patio seating is bad for dim sum quality. The wait around 10am on a weekend was about 20 minutes but if they pass your number, youll have to wait longer. The good: their recommended items are generally the better dishes here. The black sesame paste lava ball, turnip cake, and cha siew in particular was very good. The bad: the classic dim sum items like siu mai, chicken feet, spare ribs are average at best. They try to make up for it in oversized portions. The siu mai was the size of my fist. Its not the light refined flavors of cantonese cuisine but quantity over quality. The ugly: Waitstaff, particularly the waiting list manager, openly accept and advertise they accept bribes to be seated faster and for better service. Their pockets are lined with red envelopes even in the non holiday season. I also witnessed a customer gift the waiting list manager a bottle of dog soap. Regulars have preferential treatment. I would only do takeout for the few good items and avoid the whole seating bribery experience here. Overall atmosphere is mediocre and seating is tight and uncomfortable. Not the best of GTA and hasnt been for a while
There are outdoor patios during summer season, I felt more comfortable in outdoor patios than indoor. Dim sum are reasonable price. Dim sum are big portion and yummy. Food : 5/5
Great place for Dim Sum. Has vegetarian dishes!
Water melon soup was sour. 3 lbs of lobster came out with 2 lbs only. The set dinner prices are relatively high. Food
Great customer service and offers a lot of variety. Had most of the classic dim sum food and each dish portion sizes were good . Parking: Outdoor free parking lot directly in front of the restaurant on ground level. Kid-friendliness: The restaurant offers a smaller room section perfect for kids. Wheelchair accessibility: Barrier free washroom and entrance available
Been here to eat for a long time. I called today to ask how long I would have to wait. The front desk actually said that I couldnt see the door and that I had to go over and take a look in person. Its so pitiful. I hope she gets her eyes cured after she makes money.
food was good but very slow. we waited 45 minutes for a seat and each dish also takes a while
This is a great place for Chinese dim sum. We like going to this restaurant even though it takes 45 mins ride from our home. The famous BBQ pork is our favourite dish. There are so many special and outstanding dim sums that you cant find anywhere else. The only down side is that there is a waiting line during weekends and Sundays that you might have to wait over 45 mins for a table.
One of only a handful of truly great Dim Sum Restaurants in the GTA. Weekend seating there can be absolutely overwhelming and atrocious. I think they NEED to fix this flaw. But who knows, maybe some people enjoy jostling for position to get a seat. Like a bad tradition.
Amazing banquet style Chinese food for dinners. Superb dim sum for morning and afternoon tea. Pricey but worth it. Edit 2020/09/27: Must try their BBQ pork on rice takeout special. Best Chinese BBQ pork in Toronto.
Sunday night dinner with the fam, their famous Roast pork is a must! Lobster, and black bean Eel also a must! Their food is consistent with yummy taste and not salty like other places, we were full with only 8 dishes. Great place to go every few weeks, great value for dinner.
There was a very long wait time, on a weekend, for a table, as we did not have a reservation (about 1-1.5 hours), so if you plan to come here for dim sum on a weekend or holiday, call for a reservation early. Even with a reservation, I observed that the big tables had to wait about 15 min. The service overall was not bad and the food came out relatively quick, considering how busy they were, though we had missing items that came at the end of the meal. Their dim sum is not the traditional cantonese-style, so adjust your expectations - they do taste different than cantonese-style. They dont have the carts - you mark the items you want on a paper menu and they bring it out with a tray. Parking: On weekends, it gets busy and close parking is difficult to find.
So good, especially the durian egg tart
The food was not bad, but we walked in and saw seven reservations seated before a single walk-in table. Its freaking crazy. They shouldnt take so many reservations if they cant handle them, as it will upset the rest of the walk-in customers. The host also lets the people who she knows get in before any walk-in customers.
Don t bother coming here unless you re Cantonese or can speak it because the hostess won t acknowledge you. It s loud and you can hardly hear each other talk unless you yell
Horrible service, the front desk woman.
Unpalatable lightning protection
I measure this meal from a high-end Chinese banquet perspective as it is a pre-order banquet. In general, food is tasty. Yet, food only worth 3 stars from a high-end restaurant standard. The sea cucumber, abalone, and mushroom are a little tough (good that there is a knife and fork to cut it). The duck feet are a little bland, and they need some more oyster sauce. The balls are the best, crispy outside and tender inside (excellent). Wintermelon soup is very good as well. The deep-fried pigeons are very good as well. Juicy with crispy skin. The taste is not salty. If you find it a little bland, they provide special salt. The thousand islands sauce prawns are awesome, another type of sweet and sour. Kids love it. We ordered soya sauce chicken, but kitchen mess up and ended up giving us white cut chicken. So it is kind of disappointed. Again, Skyview is an above average Chinese restaurant. They gave us 10% discount and free white cut chicken for their mistake, and I appreciate their gesture. When a restaurant willing to admit their mistake, I am confident that they will improve next time. Good job.
I reserved Alaskan crab tonight. It was delicious. The kitchen was excellent and the whole family ate with gusto!
My go to dim sum place. Literally have not gone anywhere else for dimsum over the past year.
The food is great.workers are great.
Authentic Asian cuisine, full Dim Sum menu, checklist menu. Busy between 12-2 pm usually but worth 10-15 min wait. Decor is Asian ( wedding hall feel to it )
We came again in this trip back to Toronto. The food is good and very delicious! Joyce one of the sever is very talkative and helpful We enjoyed BBQ Pork, the veggie, the stuffed peppers, the sticky rice dumpling, etc Price wise as expected! The servers are very helpful but the food isn t very appealing probably all the dishes (we ordered more than 10) came too fast that we needed to rush eating otherwise the food may turn cold quickly also they used very special plates in different & special shape and it is also oversized. Thus it pushed us to clean up / eat faster in order to squeeze more spaces for the next course and
Crowded, if you don t enjoy surrounded by bunch of people at the front lobby, do NOT come. At best time, you will expecting a 2hours dining experience with terrible human power waitlist system. Food is good btw, just terrible dining experience
Worst dim sum I had in years. This used to be my go to place for dim sum, but no more next time. I think the chef must have changed. The skin of the har gow and sui mai were over steamed and soggy. It was mostly pork in the seafood bean curd roll and the shrimp was not fresh. Silver needle noodle was not like the norm, the texture was powdery. Cheap dim sum place can do way better than this, speaking as a person who lived in Markham for more than 20 years.
The taste is ordinary, the steamed pork ribs have a strong smell, and the chicken feet are tasteless. . .
This morning May 26 Sunday I visited this Chinese restaurant and have an extremely disappointing experience. I and my husband arrived first and got a table and waiting for my daughter and her family, which included a 7-year-old, a 2- year-old and a 1-year-old to come. After sitting for about 10 minutes, a woman waitress in a dark suit approached our table and insisted we had to order immediately due to their table sitting restrictions on weekends. I was taken aback since there were no signs or notices indicating such a policy. I reluctantly ordered 3 dim sum dishes. Later, I spoke with a manager in a suit when he passed by my table about their table restrictions. He rudely confirmed the 1.5 to 2 -hour limit and did not provide satisfactory explanation. His attitude suggested that non-regular customers like us were no value. When my daughters family arrived, we ordered a substantial amount of dim sum. The food was mediocre, and the service left a lasting negative impression. I have never been treated so poorly in a Chinese restaurant. I will not return to this restaurant or its sister establishment, The One Fusion Cuisine . I plan to share my experience with friends, family and anyone who asks for restaurant recommendations. Treating customers with such disrespect will inevitably harm their business in the long run.
yummy bbq pork rice
One of my favourite dim sum places. Everything is so delicious! No cons except for long waiting time
First time here, it was busy when we arrived but they were able to find us a table quite fast. Service is very fast and good. Food is fine. A couple of the dim sums were a bit salty. The size of the shrimp dim sum was huge, I thought it was unusually too big. If you havent been here before, give this a place a try, while Ill go try other restaurants.
nice environment
I visited this dim sum restaurant after reading numerous positive reviews. Knowing its popularity, we arrived at 9 AM on a Saturday, right as they opened, and still ended up waiting over 40 minutes before being seated on the patio. Eating outside was fine since the weather was nice, but the tableware, including tea cups and plates, were noticeably covered with dust. Additionally, the food did not live up to expectations. The beef short ribs, for example, were excessively oily and tough to chew. The meat in the bun was too sweet. It was also difficult to find the steamed gluten in the beef tendon dish despite the fact that steamed gluten was on the name of the dish. Overall, the dishes were just ordinary not really reaching the high reviews that I saw.
I wish we had this quality of dim sums in Montreal. It was DELICIOUS. Everything we ordered was amazing. My favorites were the BBQ pork buns, the fried almond shrimp balls and the Phoenix claws. I wish my stomach was bigger. We went a Tuesday morning at 10:30 and it was almost full. I dont dare to believe what the line is during the weekend. So be there early or be ready to wait!
Consistency in food and service is lacking. We come here often and we ordered a special soup which ended up coming after a main dish, soup is traditionally an appetizer. After the first dish came, it was fifteen minutes until the next dish. Their kitchen operations need improvement. We ordered one dish off the menu and learned it was unavailable. Then ordered a replacement which we found out was also unavailable, lots of room for improvement. I do enjoy the dessert which has three items and is standard for all guests.
The food was amazing and fresh. The barbecue pork was the best food I had containing a perfect portion of fat. The dim sum size is larger than ones I had in Hong Kong without any compromise on the taste. The price was extremely reasonable as we were 3 people sharing the food.
Wonderful Cantonese food. The service and price is extremely affordable.
I had an unpleasant experience with Kelly, one of your waitresses. There was a misunderstanding regarding a tea order placed by my mother. When another waitress inquired about our tea preference, I ordered Jasmine tea, unaware that my mother already done so. Upon realizing the error, I kindly requested Kelly to inform the other waitress to cancel our tea order. However, Kelly responded in a highly unprofessional and rude manner. She loudly and abruptly stated if you already ordered , don t order again , . I said ? This uncalled-for behavior left me feeling frustrated and compelled to question her conduct.
Dim Sum Lunch with a mid-course correction! With fine, restaurant quality, frozen Dim-Sum products now readily available in a number of retail stores around my neighborhood. It has been weeks, if not months since I last had a sit-down Dim Sum lunch at a restaurant. Based on past experiences and current suggestions from foodie friends and bloggers, my wife and I decided to pick up my brother-in-law from his car maintenance service at the dealership and head over to nearby Skyview Fusion for a long, overdue dim-sum lunch. However, the presence of some alluring wall posters at the entrance, promoting a number of really attractive looking, value-for-money special dishes threw our menu order decision a curveball. Instead of just focusing on Dim-Sum dishes, we ended up making a detour and augmenting them with some of the specials. To our Dim Sum order of: - Har Gow Shrimp Dumpling - Freshly baked BBQ Pork Buns - Pot-sticker style, pan fried diced Curry Beef Buns - Thousand layer Duck Egg Yolk Sponge Cake We splurged and ordered a plate of Shanghainese style, stirred fried whole Dungeness Crab with Chinese Rice Cake, Fava Beans and Preserved Chinese Mustard Greens plus a BBQ meal combo platter of BBQ Pork aka Char Siu and Cantonese Roasted Duck. Our order turned out to be part hits and part misses! Stand-out being the exemplary, well-executed, flavourful and crispy Roasted duck. For once, there s a chef willing to put in the effort to prepare the marinade in the traditional, cumbersome, long-handed way. The result? .reminiscent of some of the excellent, authentic offerings found in local Hong Kong s specialty Cantonese roasted meat shops! The well-charred, tender and nicely seasoned Char-Siu was top-notch too. Sadly, the limp looking Crab dish was prepared totally void of wok-hay . The starchy batter and gravy coating was crushingly overwhelming. However, the desired overall flavor profile was still there ..if only the chef would put a bit more loving effort in properly executing the dish??!! As for the small number of Dim Sum products we ordered? Again, the seasoning was spot-on, though the overall construction and form of the products were way overboard and way too overwhelming in size! The gigantic Har Gow, requiring at least 3 bites was the size of a grenade!! Same was the baked BBQ pork buns!....so filling! Overall, an acceptable but non-stand out lunch from one of GTA s supposed best!
Not the same as they were when they first opened. Quality definitely has gone down but they try to replace that with creativity. The dimsum cage is appealing at first but if you actually eat the random pieces they runt go well together. In terms of quality for the other items ordered, the cherng fun was so thick with minimal stuffing, it was like they were trying to get you full from the outer casing. The thousand layer cake was dry and not constructed in an even manner. The foods were generally very roughly made like the sesame ball had the thickest walls ever that was super oily when you bite into it. Just not the same anymore, maybe they lost their original chef. Too pricy for more quality dimsum. Would not return
It s more authentic than some Hong Kong-style restaurants in China.
The reception lady will ignore you if you are not old and not speaking Cantonese.
I visited this restaurant today and had a mixed experience. Firstly, I want to commend Connie, the cashier, for her exceptional hospitality. Despite my limited Cantonese, she was incredibly accommodating and didn t push for a tip on my takeout order a pleasant surprise, given the common practice elsewhere. Connie s kindness was a highlight, and she definitely deserves recognition, possibly a raise. However, my initial interaction upon entering was disappointing. The reception was unattended for five minutes, and the middle-aged lady with short hair who finally appeared was unhelpful and rather rude. She frowned when I inquired about seating for one and vaguely gestured towards the dining area without clear instructions, leading to confusion. I bet this is the cause for most of the one-start reviews over here. It took another server s assistance to direct me to the cashier for takeout. The food, particularly the dim sums, was above average and enjoyable. Overall, were it not for Connie s excellent service, I would have rated my experience much lower. She truly made a difference.
This place is so dirty. Saw a couple bed bugs crawling on the chairs and floor.
Reserved in advanced for / /repast at higher-than-usual price (50% higher than walk-in ordering the same food) knowing the premium will ensure we have our table on time and extra service since we are a rather large group. We were a group of 63 having lunch at Skyview Fusion Cusine. First of all, they didnt give us our tables on time complaining that they needed our tables to do more business so we can either choose to sit in the parking lot (aka patio) or wait until tables are ready. We were a group of 63 people waiting for our tables to be ready even though we called 2 hours in advance to triple confirm and showed up 30 minutes early. Secondly, the service was horrible (or i should say almost no service at all???). They were unwilling to give us glass and ice saying they dont have much. For god sake, is simple ice, and they were reluctant to provide and we only got 10 glasses for a group of 63 people. Again, this is pre-ordered menu at premium price (for what we eat). What happen to those people to came to have dim sum and order ice water? We are chinese and we never expect much of service from a chinese restaurant, but this is beyond our knowledge of poor customer service. They were also rushing us to leave the whole meal. Thirdly, the quality of food was horrific compared to the usual food quality we had at dinner at the same restaurant. Veggie dish was blend. Fried rice stuck together like a rice ball. Steam fish was over-cooked at rough. Sweet and sour pork was not crunchy. Dessert was so sweet that you can dilute one bowl into two with water. Everyone took one zip and left the rest on table. Overall food court quality at best. Finally, we had people lining up next to us watching us eat the entire time. We even overheard the waiters talking about us (the large group) holding up the 6 tables even though we paid extra for our meal. If we walked in like anyone else, our bill would easily be 30% cheaper for the same food at the same restaurant. The restaurant knew the meaning of the package and charged higher as compensation. Overall, we had an extremely poor experience. Poor service and poor food quality, and mostly important they didnt respect the chinese tradition even though they are chinese serving an important meal ( / ) with special meaning. If they couldnt serve us, they could have told us and not took our booking (we went to quite a few restaurants and some did turn us down knowing they wouldnt be able to serve us during a weekend lunch). We could have booked else where. They booked us because they wanted our business, but they didnt want to deliver their service because they had opportunity to make even more money and knew we would suck it up (we couldnt change plan in last minute). We will never dine at that restaurant again, and im sure all my guests would never dine there again or try it (those who had never been). There are plenty of selections in Markham, and im not sure why they felt they could do that to us. As a note, we finished our meal and walked out in an hour and a half. They made a decent profit from us charging $50 a piece for repast (no lobster, this is just /repast so it is not one of those typical big feasts you have in mind. The type of meal is served after a funeral in chinese tradition)
