50 Lockridge Ave, Markham, ON L3R 7R6, Canada
Surprisingly, almost all the dishes we ordered were delicious. I particularly liked the chicken stuffed with sticky rice. Soup and dessert were complimentary. They have a few rooms with a large table. Price was fair but gratuity was mandatory included in the bill. Service was okay. The decor was plain. There were plenty of parking at night.
Good food good service and good potion! Especially the Beijing duck and Beef with cashews ! So tasty! All the kids love them. Lobster was good too.
I have been here for a quite number of times already. Their food and service are no doubt sitting above average comparing to other places that serve Chinese cuisine. The portions of their dishes are quite generous as well. Recommended!
I've always passed by this resto driving along 16th. It's located in a tiny plaza right before Warden Ave. My brother really wanted to try this place for his bday so we made a reservation and the waitress on the phone told us they could give us a private room with no minimum spend which was cool. Eggplant w/ minced pork in fish sauce: I still think Congee Wong/Queen makes this dish the best but they did a pretty good job here. I do prefer my eggplants cut into rectangles though. These guys did the traditional thicker, rough chops. The eggplant was still soft and the sauce was great. No complaints with this dish. Maggi sauce lobster: No screwups here. Standard canto cooked lobster style. Peking duck: The duck was cooked well but they definitely skimped us on the wraps. I think this resto might win the award for being the most stingy on wraps. Steamed fish: Broke down well but the soy sauce was either not homemade or store bought. It did not have enough flavour. Stir fried pea shoots w/ dried shrimps and shrooms: The portion size was severely lacking for this dish of veggies. There was a small mound of veggies in the middle of the plate and the rest of the dish was broth. I expected the dish to be full of veggies. Sweet n' sour pork: Ok the sns pork here is above average! It doesn't crack top 3 or anything like that but the pork was crispy and they didn't forget the pickled garlics. Whole crispy chicken: So some of the chicken skin wasn't crisp and some of the accompanying shrimp chips also weren't crispy. The meat WAS cooked perfectly though. Breast was moist and overall the meat had enough flavour. Winter melon soup: It was good but I suspected the winter melon wasn't cooked entirely over the open flame burner. Rather, I think they stewed the soup first and then poured it into the melon. I observed the server trying to hack at the melon to get the inner flesh off. Properly cooked winter melon flesh should just give way with no effort. Our family was making small talk w/ one of the servers and she told us that the whole resto had 2 woks in total and she sounded dead serious. Idk if we should've been shocked or worried LOL. I will say, the service was great though! The 2 biggest positives I can say about this place is their open willingness to give available private rooms to anyone (w/o minimum spend) and the service. If you're spending around $500, I honestly don't think this place can even compete with Starchiva, Kingsfield or The One Fusion in the Richmond Hill/Markham area. Those places are in a higher tier. If you're spending the same amount of coin at those respective places, you will have a far grander dining experience and larger portions to get more bang-out-of-your-buck.
It's been a long time since I last dined at the Win's. We (my family and I), unanimously agreed that Win's has won our vote to be the best Chinese restaurant we have been to in this couple of months. The jumbo prawns in Thousand Island sauce and the jumbo scallops were the first to go. Even my son who rarely eats seafood likes both dishes. Next time, I will try the jumbo prawns in another sauce though. The other tofu, beef and veggie dishes are up to par. Service is great and we all like the complimentary desserts which comes with a choice of three. It's a great dinner !
First time at this restaurant. Never new this place existed and we drive by this plaza so often and didn’t notice it. It was only when we were looking for seafood restaurants in the area that I found it on Google Maps and decided to give it a try. It is a large restaurant with lots of seating and several private rooms which is great for family gatherings when you want to chat and have a quieter atmosphere. Even though we were a small party the restaurant was nice enough to put us into one of the smaller private rooms. The staff are sooo nice. English is not their first language but they did their best to communicate with us. They were also attentive throughout the dinner. We Came with some friends and ordered Set Dinner F for 4 people. They provided complementary fish skin chips to start. Every dish was delicious. The quality of the ingredients is amazing and the flavours are wonderful. Our friends enjoyed the dinner so much they plan to bring their family back for an “authentic Chinese meal”. Will definitely be back as well.
Delicious Chinese food. Service was great and food tasted good too. Prices were reasonable. They also have private rooms which was nice for privacy. I especially loved the eel. It was super soft and flavourful. Highly recommend.
Made a last minute reservation for a Saturday evening, we ordered the lobster and maggi sauce, Vancouver crab (30$/lbs), vegetable dish with abalone and mushroom beef. The service was quick and efficient and the staff were very nice and attentive. The food was pretty tasty as well. The meal had a soup included as well and a variety of deserts to chose from at the end. Overall the experience was good. Would recommend checking out if your in the area and want to eat some seafood.
Great Chinese cuisine at a reasonable price.
This restaurant is way too overpriced, the taste was okay but the prices need to be lowered down. Please I highly DONT recommend this place.
Average value for money
Food is above average, quite pricey though and it didnt reflect on their ambience. You would think you walked into a 1960s Chinese restaurant. The floor is damp wet and sticky. Their utensils are not cleaned. They use the plastic table cloth and its sticky too. I would not go back to this restaurant.
dinner is ok here.
Fairly affordable and they give you a good amount of food and of great quality given the economy. I also forgot my retainer in this restaraunt and they put it in an empty takeout box for me to pickup when I promptly re-returned. Very great staff and this place is home to me.
!! ATTENTION !!: CHANGE OF RESTARAUNT OWNER, NO USE IN COMING HERE ANYMORE!! The previous owner of this restaraunt and his wife were both very charming individuals, the new owners who the restaraunt have been sold to are not. Food took us nearly 45 minutes of waiting even though the restaraunt was barely at full capacity. The kitchen is tiny, only large enough for two chefs at once, and the new chefs work SLOW. Portions have shruken, food has lost all flavour, and just to note... MANDATORY 12% TIP added to your bill. Be wary of the new changes.
Good
Used to be regular to this restaurant. Taste not bad, good portion, reasonable service and atmosphere. They recently changed the owner and included 12% service charge to the bill. I dont find their service deserve such a tips. Will not dine in anymore. Instead, will get takeout to avoid the service charge.
Still good even if they change the chef.
Owner changed recently but foods were still very yummy. The Crab Rice was ready good but a bit pricey thou.
Good food and good value.
Taste good
Sticky rice chicken, not crispy, I love it Dry fried beef Heduwu is delicious I will definitely go back again.
Just finished a Sunday lunch as the other Chinese restaurant close by was having a long lineup. The parking lot was empty, and we hesitated to go in. What a big difference with only 5 couples eating there. The prices are good and we ordered similar dishes as the diners had on the other tables. Yet, when ours came, the plate was as big, but the portion was much less. We heard and saw that the other diners had 4 bowls from the fried rice and still could pack a full box of leftover, but ours was consumed after 2 rounds. When each of the other 3 tables asked for the bills, they automatically gave dessert, which was the red bean sweet soup, but when we paid the bill there was nothing, so as we exited, I asked why the others had dessert and we didnt. The waitress said, O, you didnt ask . I swear none of the other diners had asked. They just lost some repeated customers: 1. Favoritism - some customers got much bigger portions, and as new customers, I had a feeling that was at our expense, as our small portion was very small. 2. Waitress was reluctant to take credit card, and was lazy to get the machine to take debit card, and waited till we offered to pay cash. 3. Attributed the skipping/forgetting our dessert to customers not asking for it. 4. The atmosphere/layout is weird and uncomfortable. 5. Flies hovering. Now I know why they have so few customers during peak lunch hours. While the food per se is not bad, I dont have a reason to go back.
The stew soup is delicious, affordable and delicious
No bad, but was short staff that day as mentioned by boss.
Good service.
The food portions are large and the price-performance ratio is good! There is an independent box for family gatherings, which can seat two people.
The taste and food quality are average, the sugar water is not sweet and is thickened with starch paste. The location is narrow, the lighting is dim, and the decoration is a bit old.
Very good, the food comes out quickly
Dont order the Gu Lao Pork. It tastes really bad. It looks like it was served overnight. When I asked, I was told that it was their restaurants signature dish.
The quality of the food at Chew Tong Tian never disappoints me, and the service attitude makes me feel more friendly. Whether it s the fish noodle soup, jelly chicken rice for lunch, or the lamb belly pot and stuffed glutinous rice chicken for dinner, it s always good. The steamed and baked fish sausage that brought back childhood memories was really not good enough. I also looked at a restaurant and saw whether it was serious about running it. The restroom is an important indicator. In eight of the ten restaurants, I was yelled at and couldnt hold back my anger when I entered. You can leave as soon as you think about it, but the clean management is worthy of praise again and again.
The dining table is placed close to the glass window and is surrounded by booths on four sides. The backs of the booths on three sides are blocked by tables and seats. The booths sitting near the window are difficult for diners to enter and exit the restroom. The food quality is not bad and the service is taken care of. The price is mid-range. There is room for improvement in environmental areas.
The large package is included in the meal. It s a pity that there is no milk tea at noon.
Had Chinese New Year dinner here. Sweet and sour pork and stuffed chicken were good. Scallop and lobster were disappointing. Service was very good.
This restaurant deserves the high ratings because their food is so fresh & they bring it out in such a timely manner. The staffs hospitality, especially tonight, was efficient & amazing. Thank you for treating us so kindly with our guests from out of town. Happy Chinese New Year to you again!!
Great Seafood- Fresh. Lots of seating and private rooms.
Authentic Chinese food. Great place to have family gatherings.
The food is average but maintained a good portion
The noodle is a rip off 18 bucks and is just noodle with no meat or anything, they can t charge that.
Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood strip plaza that offers good value lunch and dinner options.
Very good food. We tried about 10 different dishes and all were excellent. I would definitely recommend this place.
Food quality always consistently good.
Worth recommending
One of my go to Chinese Resturant s. Their drunken butter crab is amazing. Majority of their dishes are good. I recommend the quail, really good! The sticky rice stuffed chicken is good too.
excellent attentive staff & the food was so fresh. Thank you for a delicious meal, we will be coming back. The owner was so kind!
The service is very good and very welcoming! The food is light and good. big portion
Great food (dinner), very friendly staff. Traditional Chinese slow cook soup is one of the best in Markham.
Honest, the restaurant itself need some renovation . The dishes are ok.
Food was fresh and really good. They did get an order wrong but no big deal. If your going for Peking duck you would need to pre order. I would suggest to go with a Chinese speaking person as I am a cbc and my Chinese isnt that good and my table spoke other languages so communication was a bit difficult.. Overall great experience. Servers were so nice.
D The food is not cooked well and not hot enough. The food tastes bad. Has the chef been changed?
Chicken with sticky rice, Sooooooo Good!
No chance to have the service. That day I was told fully booked and also refused to serve take out. They said their business are very busy and need 2 weeks to reserve ahead. People are nice.
Really loved the lobster dish. The staff was really, really nice. Highly recommends this restaurant.
Good quality, classic chinese dishes. They also offer private and partitioned rooms. Hand sanitization bottles readily available throughout the restaurant.
delish food, u can taste the real taste of seafood, Charles provided great service. However if u like MSG u better skip this one... Food
Some food good. Some food not good. But majority good good.
Very friendly service. Only one server was decent in English. Beef in the Cantonese cheow mein left little to be desired. Overall taste was ok. Sticky rice very savoury and the rest was as expected from decent to good chinese restaurant but the curry chicken was not tasty according to my Malaysian Chinese wife and daughter. Im Cdn-Korean. I found it to be just fine for myself. Green bean with minced pork was outstanding. We went when it was empty near 245pm on Sunday. Food is more like 3.75. I hate when Canto Chow Mein is disappointing.
Good Cantonese place. Far from the best in Markham, but very good for the most part. I Vegetarian options: Like most real Chinese restaurants (with a few exceptions), this is not a great place for vegetarians. Pretty much nothing for vegans. If that is not a problem for you thkugh the food is very good.
food still good after so many years
This s my first time being here. The environment is good. There are seven private rooms. The food is light and tasty, most of the customers are regulars who treat this place like their own canteen.
Its good
Good delicious seafoods . Ordered two big lobsters cook two ways which satisfied our craving. Sweet sour pork, green, fried salt pepper squid were good too. Thank you Jack n Joanne. Will surely come back again. Good service too.
Awesome food , some items can get expensive.
Great food
Excellent, nice environment, good food and friendly staff:)
Great for Lunch
The meal ordering package service was very unpleasant
Food is excellent. Service is 5A+ excellent. Menu have a lot of choice. Seafood is excellent. Chef special soup is excellent. Sticky rice chicken is unbeatable. Vegetarian options: Excellent food. Excellent price. Service is 5A+. All servers are very friendly. Parking: Plenty of parking, no need to worry. Kid-friendliness: Excellent. All servers are kid lover. Wheelchair accessibility: 100% sure. I see a lot of wheelchair customers and senior customers.
Friendly atmosphere, looks like a lot of frequent customers that visit this restaurant. Lots of takeout orders going through. Food is tasty and served hot, and the portions are quite generous. Food selections are good and reasonably-priced. Vegetarian options: Lots vegetable dish selections for the liking of vegetarian clients. Parking: Didnt count. However, there are ample of wheelchair parkings along the building. Wheelchair accessibility: Although there are two levels in the restaurant, there are ample tables at the lower level for customers that do not like taking a few steps up.
I went to try the dishes today. The stewed soup was good, the red squab tasted good, and the other dishes were average.
The quality of the ingredients is amazing and the flavours are wonderful.
Nice staffs, very friendly and helpful. However food quality drops alot. Their fish ball is kind of not acceptable but fried rice are good Food : 3/5
Authentic Chinese cuisine, good service, high CP value, every kind of dogwood is cooked with exquisite delicacies, tea is top-notch, and the cultural atmosphere is good, just like having dinner in China, and parking is convenient. Dietary restrictions: The stir-fried mushrooms with bean sprouts are bright and tasty.
The food quality is poorly prepared. Its not the same anymore. Wouldnt go there.
I would have give it a 3.5 to 4 stars for the good, however, the server who serve our room was extremely rude. She made us (table of 13 with senior and teenagers) felt like we were there to beg for food. No manners at all. We need to tell the owner to switch another waitess/waiter to serve us. Thats very unfortunate, this place used to be our Sunday default dinner place, but no longer.
The service is enthusiastic and the food is okay. The glutinous rice chicken and winter melon cups are good.
Busy place for lunch, The signature fish ball noodle soup is excellent, the fried fish skin is a nice added touch to go with the soup. Excellent Malay curry chicken rice. Great value with the lunch specials Service is attentive and efficient.
Service is great and we all like the complimentary desserts which comes with a choice of three. Its a great dinner
Friday night dinner with friends, good price, very good service.
My family loves this restaurant. The dishes are fresh and delicious. The prices are very fair. And to round up the meal there are delicious Chinese desserts. Everyone (even my son who is not big fan of Chinese food) is very satisfied after every visit. The owners and servers are super friendly too. You won t be disappointed. Highly recommended!
This place has been here for so long. Food is not bad and good pricing. Will come back
Overall a good restaurant, excellent staff.
Good food. Service ok. Restaurant not crowded on weekday night.
excellent quality authentic Chinese Food. Good value and large variety. Definitely would return and try other dishes.
Went here with coworkers for dinner and was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. We ordered ahead of time for the soup (I believe it needed time to prepare) and the soup was amazing and had lots of ingredients in it that gave it a lot of flavour.
Food is delicious and very friendly services
Excellent food, obviously. The owner cares about the customers. He practically stands in front of the entrance to greet the incoming guests. Mind you, he did not dress like the owner. Food
Basic lunch
The quality of the ingredients is top notch
Solid Cantonese cuisine at reasonable prices.
Delicious. Will come again.
Great service and excellent food with complimentary tea and desserts. Lobster is excellent. Value for money.
Excellent food and service. Great family atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
Food was tasty, portion size was good, and the service was great. Will definitely come again!
Lunch there is great, particularly the fried rice and fish ball noodle soup. Dinner is also good at reasonable price. Love the steamed fish and fried chicken.
A good old authentic HK style dinner spot, with great food (super speedy bring out the food), and the best part, there is no minimum to book a private room. Jackie and Tammi are especially friendly along with all the other staff that we encountered, but we didnt get their name. Definitely a great spot for friends and family gathering.
Food was good, cashier was terrible.
The air quality inside makes us sick because they allow customer to smoke inside the restaurant. There is no smoking smell until halfway of our dinner, otherwise we wont eat there. It is against the law and harmful to other customers health. My son has headaches the whole time. No matter how good the food is, this environment really turn us down. Never go back to Wins Seafood!
I got the steamed fish for takeout. It was delicious and fresh. I enjoyed that they put the soy sauce in a separate container for takeout. Would recommend!
Upscale Chinese restaurant with some unique dishes under the chefs recommendation menu at a decent price. Love coming here for a hearty Chinese meal. Try the steamed egg, crispy garlic chicken, tofu with mushroom
Great peking duck Takeout was hot and tasty Kid-friendliness: Every kid loves the staples Peking duck Sweet n sour pork Chicken / corn soup
Happy with our meal overall but the black bean sauce eel dish is definitely overpriced for how little it was, and how bland it tastes.
Avoid this restaurant if you can. The quality of the food is worse than a food court. My recent take-out experience was terrible. Not worth your time and money.
delicious food, friendly owner
Nice food and very friendly staff
The $148.88 set dinner price were good but the food were cold.
Excellent! Everything we had ever ordered for dinner was good to the value. Even we just ordered couple dishes (not the combo), they would give us soup and sweet soups for free, ever since we placed our first order there.
reasonable price
Good food good service
Foods are delicious, prices are reasonable and sercice nice
Lobster with Maggi seasoning famous highly recommend delicious
Excellent service.
Came here for lunch, they gave us short change and they came out asking for more service charge with an offensive attitude. Have been coming here for years but this will be the last time.
A lot seafood you can choose.
We come here for family lunches and dinners. Food usually is quite good. Service is friendly and efficient. UPDATE: really enjoyed their steamed green bass
The food was fine, albeit a little bland. Service was quick but staff weren t exactly the friendliest or most polite.
the food is good with fair price
Not our usual place to eat at. We went here for a birthday celebration. No complaints, the food and service was good.
Came here for big lobsters in 2 flavours. Wonderful service where a party of 5 feasted on nothing but 11 lbs of lobsters until we were stuffed. Got complimentary cold drinks and desserts too!
You gotta have their fish ball ho fan
I used to come to this restaurant every week before Pandemic. Recently I came back for my first dine in for lunch and it s a little disappointing. The price has gone up which I think it s ok as it s happening everywhere else, but the portion is small which is why I m only giving it a 3 stars. Taste and quality are ok but I likely won t return as there are better options out there.
Pretty pricy but taste good! The owner is very nice!
The food is good, service just regular. Very busy place. They close Tuesday.
Great choice and pricing on lunch menu.
Came for a dinner the other day. Pretty standard Cantonese food options. But its cool because you have your choice of dessert at the end: silken tofu, green bean soup, red bean sago, or herbal jelly. I actually like the lunch here better, lot of dishes to choose from, and comes with a drink. Milk tea is pretty decent.
Really high quality food. Dont let their casual green signage fool you: this is not your typical mom and pop place. This is a legit Cantonese seafood restaurant. Steamed black bean eel Poach chicken with soya sauce (and broth?) Deep fried oysters with ginger and scallions Water spinach with garlic and chili Black sesame seed dessert soup.
The taste and service are great, and there are many wonderful special dishes. Parking: a lot of.
Dietary restrictions: ! ! , , ,
Amazing food and services Update: still amazing. This is our go to restaurant
The food is good, I ordered stir-fried pork neck with mushroom sauce, stir-fried beef with mushrooms, very wok-flavored, steamed fish that was freshly cooked and very delicious, and fish soup soaked with tea sprouts Desserts are given after the meal, there are many kinds to choose from .
The food is delicious, the price is reasonable, and the waitress, Sister Qiong, is very friendly! The dessert selection is very rich and worth coming again!
Excellent food. Friendly staff, and the owner was great, and helpful. They seemed shocked we could use chopsticks, which is always a bit of fun.
Good eat. Authentic Cantonese cuisine not found in everywhere. No corkage. Good service. Highly recommend.
A friend took me there. It was so delicious, the price was affordable, the ingredients were fresh, the chef was good, the restaurant was clean and warm, and the waitress was very enthusiastic and cheerful. I like this restaurant very much and will go there again in the future.
Good authentic Chinese Cantonese food! Free dessert after dinner. Too bad they dont serve Lunch anymore.
Amazing food. LLBO. Private rooms available. Good stir fry and flavours. Great service.
Just came here for dinner for the second time, the food is still delicious, the soup is delicious The desserts are top-notch and there are many choices The reception was cordial and courteous, especially Sister Qiong, a super nice person A Chinese restaurant worth recommending
The production is very good.
The fish ball noodle was quite disappointing.. After all the hype on social media saying how traditional it is... Not at all. But the service was really good.
Crab on rice, steamed fish, roast pigeon cooked to perfection, very tender. Best crab in town! Affordable pricing too,
Very good environment and food!
Excellent food!!
