60 Main Street Markham N, Markham, ON L3P 1X5, Canada
Popular Greek restaurant serving traditional dishes in a breezy white room with blue accents.
My gf and I came for first time dine-in on a thursday night. We parked a bit north of the resto down the street (it was about a 10 min walk). We sat down and a server came over right away with water and some menus. We ordered the pikilia (which is basically a giant meat platter). The platter came with lamb chops, chicken and pork souvlaki, chicken and pork gyro and a sausage. It also included a large greek salad, tzatziki sauce and bread but we asked the server if we could sub the salad out for some carbs like rice or potatoes and she said sure (we subbed the salad for roasted potatoes). The meat was delicious! Juicy, flavourful and nice hefty portion size. Before sending our order through I double checked w/ the server to ask if it would be enough food and she assured me it would be. Good call! The roasted potatoes were fantastic too! Very lemony flavour profile and sooo tender. I do think if we ordered the pikilia again in the future we'd ask for rice though because the meat was very rich and I think the rice would've balanced out the flavours more. The tzatziki sauce that came on the side was *chef's kiss*. Be sure to ask for a refill(s) if you run out! The menu is not that big so you know it's a sign that they can focus on making a select number of dishes with high quality. Will definitely be back again!
This place is located conveniently on Markham Main Street and looks promising however our meals did not live up to our standards. Our calamari was crispy but greasy and the portion size was extremely small for an appetizer dish. My lamb meal came with three small pieces of meat and a handful of potatoes. The lamb meat is nicely chard, slightly overcooked, but wish there was more on the plate. I would recommend getting the greek pita if you come here as it seems like they put a more generous portion inside the wrap. The inside of the restaurant is very smokey, may need a different ventilation system. I really wanted to love this place but sadly will be going elsewhere :(
Authentic Greek restaurant in Markham, must try if you like Greek food. Less options for vegetarians but their Greek salad was awesome and hummus pita were good too.
A fantastic spot for authentic Greek cuisine. The pita souvlaki was tender and flavorful, and the spanakopita was perfectly crispy. The warm, welcoming atmosphere made the meal even more enjoyable, and the staff was attentive and friendly. Don’t miss the baklava for dessert – it’s the perfect sweet finish. Highly recommended for anyone craving genuine Greek flavors!
Beautiful place in main st Markham, we ordered the chicken souvlaki with rice and chicken souvlaki with salad. They are pretty stingy on the rice for a $21 dish that came with potatoes and a salad. For some reason she brought out a bottle of ketchup? Like who adds Ketchup to a Souvlaki meal? Garlic bread was amazing. The chicken itself was seasoned perfectly and very moist and succulent, but on the other dish parts of my wife's chicken was a bit undercooked which we told the waitress and she just shrugged it off. Salad was a bit bland.. Had much better elsewhere. They also use paper straws that I'm not a fan of. Don't like cardboard breaking up in my drinks
Came here for lunch and we had a good experience. The staff was friendly, came to take our orders and then gave us a whole bucket of garlic bread. After our food arrived, the staff checked in with us. The gyro was delicious, and their lunch portion was generous.
When I’m craving greek and in Markham I go to Main St. Greek which never disappoints. I love going there for lunch as their service is fast and attentive. The food is always fresh and plenty of parking around the restaurant. My regular lunch meal for 2 is the following (2 people). Apps: - Tirokafteri with Pita or Grilled Octopus - Spanakopita or Saganaki Main: (per person) - Either small greek with chicken or large as both are very generous portions / or souvlaki on a pita is to die for. If you love greek and want fresh food and fast service this is the place to go, I highly highly recommend it!!
I chose to eat here for my birthday. It was a true disappointment. $17 for the calamari appetizer and plate looked like half eaten. Noticed couple tables down from me, their plate of calamari definitely look full. My daughter's baked pasta was cold as well. Definitely wont be going back. I would have paid much less at Macdonalds and enjoyed it way more. Attached a pic of my half eaten $17 calamari plate.
Surprisingly good all around!
Food
Huge portions! I couldnt eat for the rest of the day.
Pros: convenient location for locals Cons: Pricey Not the best customer service (front desk cashier might ve been having a bad day) Not a lot of flavour (I purchased a chicken wrap)
OPA ! Found my new go to place . Best Pork Gyros i have ever had. Greek salad was awesome as well. Can wait to try the rest of this fabulous menu.
Our favourite greek restaurant! Amazing food and great prices. Staff are the best!
We went for the first time two people on a Saturday evening around 5.30 without reservation ( not available online reservation capability) As we entered the greeter simply asked us how many people and we said two and right away she said I dont have anything walked away without even asking if you want to wait or suggest any alternative. No manners at all.
The lamb! Omg!
We ordered Rice, Souvlaki, potatoes and Greek salad and it was delicious; the food was so good will definitely go back. The tzatziki was amazing, they use Greek yogurt to make it. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian Gyro - with roasted vegs, fries and tzatziki
Authentic Greek food and family atmosphere.
Terrible service. My husband, myself and my two babies walked in 40 min before closing and asked to place an order for takeout. The older lady at the front counter looked at us, contemplated it for a while, shrugged and then decided they were closed. They were still cooking and packing orders. Unbelievable. Guess they don t need nor want the business.
Great food !
As a long-time customer, I ve noticed their food quality has been declining over the years and is now downright horrible. Even a food court would be a better option. You ll pay $30 for just five dried chicken cubes and soggy rice. It s baffling how this place has received positive reviews. The appealing location feels like a trap. To make matters worse, the owner is shockingly rude and stingy, showing no respect for customers and even badmouthing them in Greek. She only pretends to be nice when you tip her.
Fantastic food and service!
Good greek food options here. Fresh ans hot from the kitchen. Would suggest booking in advance to avoid wait time on weekends especially. Staff is quick and nice. Food
Best greek food outside of Greece. I ve never been to Greece but Main Street Greek is probably better.
Honestly i recently visited this place the place is nice but the stuff is kinda rude especially the lady working at the front blond hair she is so direspectfull and she need to work on her customer service and how to welcome people
This place is just perfect. The food is so good. I could eat there every day if i could. The staff are so nice and welcoming. Not a single mistake in this place. The owner should be the happiest man/woman on earth. Amazing facility, service, food, vibe, staff. The rice is so good. The chicken is so juicy and tender and well seasoned. The potatoes are so soft and fresh. Just perfection. Thank you guys for providing such service.
One of the best moussaka s I ve had. Just about everything is made in house including their tzatziki.
Got a pork gyro and the pita was 40% burnt, pork was not very warm and dry.
Food was great. Service was good. Do recommend keeping a fan going for air circulation as the place was smokey with all the saganaki that was being set on fire.
Staff were warm and welcoming. Everything we ordered was exactly as expected. Taste and portion size in point
one girl pick up the call she is very rude I dont like the way she is taking
Ive had the Gyro wrap and it was 10/10 amazing pork gyro, the flavours were powerful, nice soft pita wrap and the tzatziki was great too, Same thing with Pork Gyro dinner, good salad, great potatoes and rice and the garlic bun is amazing! Service is fast and you can call ahead. This is my new favorite greek spot. I will keep returning until ive tried the whole menu.
Been coming here since the day it opened - they even sponsored our hockey team. Great food, priced properly they don t gauge you and good atmosphere
Staff was nice. Food was alright. I feel that 4 meatballs seemed a little light for the price of the meatball dinner. I wish it was also half rice and half potato vs just a big plate of rice.
They always run out of chicken gyro
Good food but on the more expensive end for sure.
Authentic Greek food from a lovely Greek family. What more could you ask for?!
The best Greek Salad and chicken! Also the cheese yummy!
Great Greek place in Markham, love the pita wraps, they put French fries in them!
The gyro was exceptionally tender and tasty.
Excellent food, open kitchen is clean and staff are great. APPETIZERS !!! amazing
Came here on the weekend with another family, so a total of 8. Got there just in time for the last tables that could fit our group. They ran out of gyro, which was disappointing, but the rest of the food was great. Had the lamp chops, the roasted lamb, and chicken souvlaki dinners. Also had a calamari appetizer. Food came out quick, hot and delicious. Parking: Talking to my friends, they said there was a free parking garage, but since I did not use it, I cannot confirm that. But there are some free municipal parking lots, just about 5 min walk.
Amazing food: delicious, fresh & great portions. Service is polite and friendly. Beautiful decorated restaurant. Food : 5/5
Very good food. Good portions. Good service.
I had placed an order for takeout. I walk in behind a group of 3 who are trying to be seated. The chef looks at the host and YELLS we are done !! It was approximately 30 minutes till closing. That interaction was extremely rude and puzzling. I walk up to the counter now to pickup my order and the cashier s first words are that the kitchen s closed . Not a greeting or hello in sight. I can see my order is already made with my name on it. I state I m here to pickup a takeout order. She cashs the order and there isn t a thank you or anything. The food was good however the interaction i witnessed and my own experience, will have me never visit this establishment again. Feeling entitled because you have a good customer base doesn t mean you can treat people poorly. Be better and more importantly be kind.
The food is fantastic. Warm garlic bread served with a fresh crisp Greek salad and the chicken souvlaki dinner. Service was awesome. The staff was so generous with our son. Very attentive, kind, and patient. We will definitely come back. Highly recommend everyone give it a try. You wont regret it!
My gf took me out to dinner after attending the Markham music festival on Saturday. It was one of the best dinning experiences Ive ever had. The staff was very friendly, are servers name was Amanda and she added to the evening. I will definitely be coming back. The saganaki was amazing and was very cool to see lit up
It s delicious~~~ The lamb was a little salty, but the food quality was still better than other restaurants. The chicken was perfect The staff are also friendly.
Magical little pocket
Excellent food (freshness and portion size) and exceptional service. Its incredible how the kitchen can manage all the takeout orders that were flying out the window plus the eat in dining orders but they did and we didnt wait long from time of order to getting our meals. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Hosting my first family holiday, and not being a great cook, I was on the hunt for a catering spot. Spent 250$ for 15 people on food and it was ABSOLUTELY worth it. Portions were big! I was a little nervous that we picked up the food at 5pm and guests didnt show up til 7, we had it in the oven to keep warm, and I thought for sure it was ruined. It was not!!! The food was INCREDIBLE!!!!! I cannot thank the team at Main St Greek enough for the first stress free family holiday! I would ABSOLUTELY do catering from them, I also had some pretty picky greeks at the function and they were impressed!!
Great, delicious food and large portions. The aroma gets you as you walk by.
I loved everything we tried and will certainly come back soon! Make reservations if possible, it s so good it fills up fast.
Possibly the best greek restaurant in the gta. and ive been to the great ones on the danforth. pork gyro is always to die for, one of the best meats in the city
Soooo good...I had the eggplant dish and pita with dip. It was like a Greek Shepherds pie! The tziki sauce was soo creamy and nicee! Cant wait to come back
In our opinion this restaurant is a hidden gem of Markham. We love Greek food and this family-oriented, no-frills place has excellent dishes: the Greek salad is crisp, tasty and perfectly balanced, the pork souvlaki is moist and great tasting; also not to miss are the saganaki, the spanakopita and the baklava. Service is also great, our waitress is always friendly and provides prompt and professional service making it a real pleasure to dine here. Highly recommended.
RUDE AFFFFFF!!!!!!!!! I d rather give my money somewhere with better customer service!!!!!!
1st time here and the service was excellent and the food was delicious
The best Greek food hands down! Recommend this place to everyone! 100% satisfied.
The food is AMAZING! We had the pork gyros, chicken souvlaki, dolmades, and baklava. The meat was tender, flavourful, and juicy. The baklava is homemade and has got to be some of the best I ve had! The service was fast and polite. Highly recommend!!
Best Greek food in Markham. Prices are fair. Good for takeout or dine in.
Food is always prepared quickly and consistently of good quality - along with being tasty.
I love this place! Very cute atmosphere, and their food is great!
Amazing. Authentic and delicious. Friendly welcoming staff.
I am not a Greek food connoisseur, but this is my favourite place to get Greek take out. The food is always fresh, and abundant.
Cute, Beautiful place. Nice people work there. I got a vegetable pita. The grilled vegetables delicious, great temperature. The topped fries very good. Enjoy Vegetarian options: Yes, grilled vegetables
Was excited to try this Greek place on Main Street Markham as I hadn t seen it here before. Ordered the chicken souvlaki dinner and a taramosalata dip. The Greek salad that came with the dinner was really fresh and had the perfect amount of dressing and feta cheese. It also comes with a basket of garlic bread which if I didn t have self control I would have eaten it all. The chicken souvlaki was also really good. Solid portion with potatoes and rice cooked just right and the chicken grilled well. The taramosalata wasn t how I usually liked it though, found it a bit too salty here. Despite that, I d definitely come back and try some of their items on the menu! One thing to keep in mind is that their kitchen closes at 8:30pm so if you want to order take out or dine in, make sure you go before that.
I walked in to see the menu and I was greeted with a a guy that said can I help you ? And I said I m just looking - then the guy laughed with his employees about me so I walked away in shame . They are not friendly . Just hurtful
Great service and solid Greek cooking!
I always go here for pick up. I get the gyros wrap which is always good. Lots of gyros in the wrap and your usual tomatoes and onions. There are some fries in there as well. Pretty good Greek food overall.
Food is pretty good. Its difficult at times to get parking.
Amazing greek food that is as good as the stuff I got in Greece. The pork gyro pitas and the moussaka are to die for.
Always excellent food and fast service
Nice place for what seems to be authentic Greek food. We got the green fries to go for a snack and was pleasantly surprised on the quantity and greeky taste! Would go back
Great food. Great friendly service and the price is right
Pros: Clean and spacious. Good service. Great location. Con: We ordered Oven roasted lamb with rice. Rice was not cooked well and the lamb was not either. The lady serving us was very accommodating and overall the place has a good vibe. Just disappointed with the quality of food. Kinda felt they were not as commuted as they should be.
Delicious authentic tasting food. Its honestly hard to find a gyro this good anywhere in Markham. Thanks guys and keep up the great work !
Great food, good portion, worth every penny.
Gyros were good. Fries were typical coated frozen type, i was hoping for proper fresh cut type.
This place is a great place, nice food that reminds you A LOT of Greece... FIX HELLAS beer...only with that they deserve 5 stars... . (but I dont give 5stars easy ) The only I didnt like, is that canadiannon exist ceiling... as youll see in the photo, they should put a ceiling there and not leave all the ductwork exposed like that, but thats a small thing... I recommend this place. Ive never been there before, but I had ordered many times.
I really wish I could give this place higher stars because I really wanted to love this place (I really, really did!), but the food was just not up to par. My partner and I shared the Moussaka and Gyro Dinner. Though the portions are large, the quality of the food is a bit lacklustre. The gyros in particular were VERY dry and criminally under-seasoned. I was also quite surprised to find that the gyros resembled shawarma rather then the shaved ground meat texture I was expecting. The moussaka was nice, but there was far too much nutmeg in the béchamel. Maybe a bit of an off day for the kitchen. I heard from a friend this place was really good . Overall I can leave happy with our experience here. Especially because of the wonderful service from Benny. Rating probably would ve been lower, but you just can t deny good service! Thank you again for helping us tonight. We might be back to give a second chance for the food.
Delicious and great service!
Wheelchair accessibility: Wheel chair accessible - easy access from street Recommended dishes
Oh Im so happy Im asked to review this one!! The food was amazing! There are not enough adjectives to describe how good everything was and the portions are more than generous. It felt just like being in any restaurant in Greece minus the blinding sun outside. Unfortunately that is not on the menu!
Huge portion. Lacking quality.
YOU MUST HAVE A RESERVATION EVEN WHEN THEY TELL YOU THAT YOU DONT NEED ONE! My husband called to make a reservation for 2 people on a Saturday night. They told him for 2 people you dont need one. So we showed up and of course, they said they dont have anything available because all of the tables were reserved DUH. So why tell us that we dont need one? We wont be back. Go to Southside down the street, the food is really good!
To get here, Markham Main Street is a very nice place to walk through. I love the ambience of the restaurant, feels like you are right in Greece. The staff are friendly and the menu is easy to understand. I tried a bunch of the appetizers which was a wonderful experience. Everything tasted good except for the gyros which were chopped up very roughly (large chunks) and a little dry, especially the pork.
Great food and service
Best gyros Ive had in a long time
Nice ambience and great service. A lovely place to meet friends for dinner. Dietary restrictions: Menu options include locally sourced meats. Im not certain if they are free from hormones and antibiotics. Food : 3/5 |
Lamb chops are so juicy and flavourful. It was delicious, I recommend.
WOW! Recommended by a co-worker, and went in for a chicken gyro. I have to admit it was the best chicken gyro Ive had in years! Went back an hour later to get one for my mom. Amazing service, friendly people and PROPER PRICING!!
Food is great but extremely overpriced for the amount of food youre getting. I paid $20+ for a salad with only a bit of chicken in it. For $20 Id rather pay to eat at an actual Greek restaurant.
Absolutely incredible! I love their pork gyro and just about everything else.. Their prices are very reasonable too. Extremely easy to recommend!
The food is great and the prices are reasonable. I can t think of a better Greek restaurant anywhere in Markham. Highly recommend.
My first visit and definitely won t be the last. Ordered the chicken souvlaki salad, also pork souvlaki. Meat was tender and juicy. Good portions.
Great food , fair price and friendly staff
Awesome Greek food!!! Dine in or take out, clean, friendly staff, great service, nice atmosphere, and I love the Greek music playing in the background . I would highly recommend this place to anyone who loves a good authentic Greek meal to enjoy with family or friends.
Everything was delicious. One of the best Greek places I have ever had.
Called a few times for take out. Someone finally picked up after the fifth time and just left the phone on - I feel like that was to get me to stop calling. I think that s pretty rude.
Diner type atmosphere with about 10-12 tables in a cozy room. One waitress, super star. I ordered the moussaka. The vegetables was a little burnt but the moussaka was good. Took off a half star for the burnt veggies otherwise I would rate a 4. Its a corner window unit so doesnt feel crowded. Tables were sticky but shiny and clean.
Great Greek food on Main Street! The portion size is big and filling unlike other restaurants. The staff are attentive and kind.
My friends and I came let and they werent pushy to kick us out, they let us finish our food after closing hours
You don t always see Moussaka on the menu so i thought i d give it a try. a bit heavy on the cinnamon. The gyro dinner hubby had was better. Each came with bread and salad. Each dinner was $20 +tax&tip
This place is so overpriced for the portions. They really cut back and raised their prices.
Spacious restaurant. Service not bad. Food is good but the souvlakis are too small and not juicy enough. The way they marinated the meat is not what I would expect to taste. Not a place that attracts me to re-visit.
Amazing quality, great portions. Cant go wrong with it.
Delicious food, excellent service, worm atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant to whomever seeing this review.
The beef teki was cooked to perfection! Juicy and flavorful!
The only thing I noticed, at lunchtime when its quite busy, the ventilation cant cope and becomes smokey. Otherwise great.
Best Musaka EVER!
As close to authentic as you can get, good place. However, constantly out of food it s annoying. Sometimes before dinner time. We went from going 1-2 times a week to once every 3-4 months.
Needs to have more consistency on portion size, but it is an excellent place for really good Greek food.
Super tasty pork gyros or soulvaki on a good quality pita. Portions of wraps are very decent.
Very delicious meal! Service is friendly and food arrives promptly. A good spot for a quick lunch.
Amazing service and food.
I went there today, Saturday evening for the first time. I did not even get to taste anything as nobody even came to even say hi, after 12 minutes standing. I finally asked the lady behind the counter if I could sit at a table and she said NO YOU HAVE TO WAIT! Well I did for another 7 minutes. Nobody yet there to come to me let alone slliwing me at one of the 4 empty and cleaned tables. To me, all the waiters slso looked QUITE unhappy with unexplainable(?) long faces!!! Definitely not a place for me to go again!!
Great food.
Excellent food.
Main street Greek is my favourite Greek place to go to. The food is delicious, the servers and staff are always very friendly and I always leave with a smile on my face. I definitely recommend trying the chicken souvlaki dinner which is by far the best item they have. If you dont want a large meal, Id recommend at least getting the Greek salad.
Best Greek food in Markham!
We have been here more than 3 times this month. Most of the times was mid week or weekends and the food is excellent, fresh. This time, we went on a Monday, they ran out of pork gyro by 5 pm, only had chicken, so we selected it, the rice was hard and stale, we told the waitress, who brought us a second plate, did not taste fresh at all, felt like leftovers from the day before. Was not good at all. Go mid week or after, seems like more fresh food. We ordered 2 platters, was same, felt stale. Kid-friendliness: Very nice to my grandkid
This place was amazing! Can t get over how amazing this food is at this place. We ordered the spanakopita to start which was light, airy and flakey. They bring warm garlic bread to the table which was super soft. For our entre we ordered the chicken souvlaki dinner and the chicken gyro. The diners come with a flavourful, tasty and bright Greek salad. The lemon potatoes melt in your mouth and the rice paired exquisitely with the most juicy chicken. Would for sure return to try other menu items!
Really good prices for the food, and the service is good and the people are friendly.
Cozy space with a super welcoming team! Food feels homemade and was all very delicious! Loved the moussaka and fried calamari - would recommend for a weeknight dinner!
Family run with love. Mixed gyros wraps are my favourite.
Main Street Greek offers delicious food and generous portions, earning it 4 stars from me. The dining experience was pleasant, but service could be improved I feel. With only one waitress handling the entire dining room, it took a while to get our order taken. Moreover, she forgot to bring us water and utensils. Even getting the bill was a bit of wait because we werent able to get her attention. Despite this, the tasty dishes made up for the minor inconvenience. Parking: Limited street parking along main street.
The tzatziki sauce that comes with everything is wonderful. It goes well with everything so I guess it makes sense. I was happy to have enough to take home. The portion size is large, not sure how anyone can finish the whole plate by themselves. The calamari was also excellent. The meal also came with a table side bread and salads.
Healthy carb free lunch. Grab 1 amazing chicken stick and a large Greek salad. Very tasty!
Horrible service
My family and I ate there twice over the last few months. Once we dined in and another we ordered out and for both times we had a great experience. The food is wonderful but whats even better is the smile thats on the faces of the staff along with their amazing service which gives it a real homey feeling. Highly recommend.
Went here on a recommendation and absolutely loved it. Really great food and the prices are super reasonable. We got a couple of gyros and a souvlaki plate after enjoying a spanokopita that was perfect. Would have gotten dessert but the portions are quite generous. We ll be back to explore the rest of the menu.
Im never one to leave reviews but this restaurant has HORRIBLE service!!! We called ahead our order because we were in a rush (my mom was at markham stouffville hospital), so when we got there, we asked if we can sit on a table to eat our food quickly. The staff was so RUDE and would not seat us even though there were 10 available tables in the restaurant so my daughter in I ate outside standing while they watched us through the window LAUGHING. Shame on them. There are many other more pleasant Greek restaurants in town to choose from with kind and helpful staff. Never again.
Can never go wrong w this place. Excellent food, great quality, service and decent prices. We are regulars and proud of it!
Delicious
Weve been coming here for years for good reason; the food is excellent, the shop itself is bright & clean and service is friendly and accommodating Tzatziki is house made and fantastic! I usually take a tub home with me This is also a great restaurant option for a low carb & keto lifestyle; we usually get an order of chicken gyro, an order of pork gyro and a large Greek salad - perfection!
Ordered from here once off of UberEats, and I knew I had to go try out more of their menu in person because of it. Brought some friends with me so we could order more of their selection here to share, and not break the bank -[DIPS TRIO] $18.00 the three dips we got were Tzatziki (yogurt-based sauce with garlic, dill, and cucumbers), Taramosalata (salted and cured cod or carp roe dip), and Melitzanasalata (roasted eggplant dip, with garlic, parsley, red onions, and lemon juice) this dips trio is served with a mix of bread, and cut up pita all three dips are ones I would order again -[CHICKEN/PORK SOUVLAKI STICK] $5.00 each stick costs $5 but is so worth it both were super flavorful, and perfectly cooked served with a side of diced onions, and Tzatziki -[GRILLED OCTOPUS] $22.00 this octopus is served with a fresh wedge of lemon, and diced onions although we did squeeze the lemon onto it, it was so fresh that I would say even without the lemon, it would have been fine super tender, and easy to cut into due to their ability to cook this to its perfect doneness -[GREEK FRIES] $8.00 a hefty helping of fries topped with feta, oregano, and olive oil goes really well with the dips as well -[CALAMARIA] $17.00 crispy squid, served with a fresh lemon wedge, and Tzatziki once again, super tender, and flavorful -[ROASTED POTATOES] $6.00 roasted Greek potatoes are a staple of any Greek restaurant so we had to order this to try they tasted like they were braised in a lemon-garlic flavored broth, and then slightly roasted look at the portion size for just $6 I would order everything again (even if I came back alone haha)
Real great greek food. Happy to run into this place. Will come back
Hands down my favorite Greek food. A bit expensive but you get what you pay for forsure with these guys Parking: Its right on main street downtown markham so parking is abit difficult but you can park on the street on a busy day you may have to walk 3 minutes at most
Second time to Greek food and the first one in Greek Town. We arrived 75 minutes before closing on Sunday night, and when ordered, quite a number of items were not available. We then ordered the Saganaki, which is hot and tasty when served. Grilled octopus was not the same as the Asian ways of cooking, but it was still good. Pork and Chicken Souvlaki dinner, both served with rice and potatoes, were quite filling up. Moussaka, just a little disappointing as it might be the last one left for the day! We also tried the dessert Baklava, which might be too sweet for us. Overall, I reckon the previous one in Greek Town was better, and we should have come earlier to have ordered our right choice.
I grab takeout here weekly and dine in often as well, a gem in the small business community. Incredible food, hearty portions, pretty healthy, and great value. This will always be my go-to authentic Greek spot.
Visit: September 2023 The staff was very nice and accommodating. The food was decent. I got the lamb, but some parts of it were either dry or tough, which was disappointing Food : 3/5
I gotta say that this is a real hidden gem in Markham. We found this place by accident when strolling along the street and we were very pleased with the portions and the food itself. This is a family run business and they are very accommodating on your requests. We have been going their many times even though we live very far from this place. We highly recommend this place for a great meat and great service.
Everything you want from a family run traditional American style Greek plate. Carbs, chicken, salad and a smile.
Very friendly people and amazing food
CONSISTENTLY GOOD. Awesome food and excellent customer service.
Chicken Gyro Dinner ($22) serve with rice, roasted potatoes. Also served with Greek salad and bread (not shown). Good portion. Only ate half and brought the rest home. Spacious restaurant with numerous seatings. Able to order take out as well.
Great tasting Greek food. I always come back for more calamari, gyros, and Greek salads when Im there for lunch. Also have had their lamb and dinner plates which are great options for when youre super hungry. Friendly staff and service, great little gem of the neighbourhood. Update: Main Street Greek continues to be a regular restaurant for us to visit. Food quality is always superb and service continues to be great! Take out or dine in, we have never been disappointed.
If you love Greek Food then you want to visit this place for your fix. The food is all fresh and very tasty. Customer service is very good. If your ordering to place for pick up call early in the day because they are very busy for dinner so you need some patience but the food is worth it.
My go to place to eat in Markham! I love the roast lamb and roasted vegetables. It can be noisy when busy.
I had the chicken souvlaki dinner and it was very good. The salad was in a separate container and bag which was nice because then it wouldn t be moist from chicken and rice. They are busy sometimes so I recommend calling before hand.
Friendly service, good food and big portions. Would def come back.
Great! Love the food we ordered. Friendly Kristina is a bonus. Keep it up! See you again next time.
Killer Greek spot!
Food was excellent and really fast.
Better than anything on the Danforth
I think the Gyros with the side of Greek fries and chicken souvlaki plate is really the only thing that makes me want to keep coming back. Parking: Street parking, very limited on a busy day.
Food is okay but the waitress not to friendly
Best Gyros in Markham hands down. Im open to suggestions....
Awesome mom and pop Greek restaurant. Prices are more than acceptable. Definitely check this place out if youre feeling Greek food. Vegetarian options: Available Dietary restrictions: Kitchen is willing to adjust their menu Parking: Street parking
Excellent dining! The Danforth has come to Markham. For those of you looking for an authentic greek dining experience, this is it
Very good meal and service. A definite recommendation.
Amazing food for a good price.
Our go to Greek spot in east Markham, weve tried most of the dishes and have dined in, gotten take out, for both lunch and dinner. Cant go wrong with pork gyros , horiatiki salad, and a trio of dips Overall, I find the food too heavily seasoned but we keep going back, so Kid-friendliness: Would say it is kid friendly
Great good! A little expensive.
Best Greek food in Markham!
Fantastic Greek food, authentic and delicious, huge portions and very reasonable prices. Highly recommend
We ordered Pork gyros sandwich & Moussaka, both were really delicious. Sandwich was big enough with well grilled pork, Moussaka came with side grilled vegetables. Staff were quite friendly. Highly recommended
love their Greek fries
Very delicious grilled vegetables pita and tasty crispy french fries. Nice ambience with Greek music playing in the background. Friendly and welcoming.
