Halal restaurant with good selection of items. I'll highly recommend the stir fry dishes, lamb and beef
UPDATE: The owner initially left a reply to my review saying I got scammed by using the wrong website. Which makes no sense since I used their official website from Google Maps. The owner also claimed no one named Misha works here. Since then, MISHA (who apparently doesn’t work there) called me again to inform me that they will process my refund and to take down my review. I can confirm, after many emails, phone calls and 3 weeks of waiting, I have been refunded. I am leaving this review up because this place showed little concern and ignored my refund request, until I left a public review. Otherwise, it didn’t seem they had any interest in responding to me, let alone processing my refund. INITIAL REVIEW: I placed an order on their website, which kept glitching and refreshing, forcing me to re-add items multiple times. Despite verifying my location before checkout, the confirmation email showed the wrong pickup address. I called immediately and spoke to Misha, who told me to cancel the order to receive a refund. I followed their instructions but never got my money back. The next day, I called again and was told the manager is "never there." After repeatedly asking about my $94.85 refund, I was told to wait a week—but the person seemed unsure. I've since emailed the restaurant multiple times with zero response. This place is a scam. They’ve stolen my money and refuse to address the issue. Avoid this restaurant and its associated locations: Xin Jiang Restaurant and Magical Taste of China.
Nice relaxed atmosphere. Part of the Magical Taste of China group. We came after the lunch rush. Large portions, lots of cumin. Try the lamb dishes. Good lunch specials with many options. Enjoy it with a warm pot of tea. I am suggesting that less chili oil is used in the cooking. Food is a bit greasy and when you have lamb, even more oil. Wait staff was nice. They accept debit or cash.
Great place for halal chinese food, a bit expensive, but it seems like they have great deals on the weekdays during lunchtime. If you plan on coming here often, they also have a membership system that gives you cheaper pricing.
This is easily my favorite Chinese restaurant. The food just tastes amazing. Really great food, hand-pulled noodles, fresh ingredients, fantastic tastes. My favorite is the noodles with vegetables and lamb. Simply amazing. Can't recommend it enough
A very good Chinese restaurant that my parents like going to. I liked the fish soup, lamb skewers, and sort of bao, but the other dishes were pretty good too. No complaints!
This is one of my new favorite places to eat. The food is the bomb! They have this salted egg pumpkin that is a must try. They have a great selection of food that everyone can enjoy and the staff is great! Definitely coming back to try the rest of the menu :)
I ordered hand pulled noodles with lamb, lamb kebab, and some skewers(cabbage, rice cake, tofu skin, oyster mushroom & squid). Hand pulled noodles were great, fresh chewy noodles, nice and smoky with well balanced flavours, the meat was a little chewy though. Skewers were good, nice texture, smoky and I especially enjoyed oyster mushrooms and crispy rice cake, just wished the spice had more depth and kick to it. Lunch specials are a great deal, pulled noodle dish was around $14 while skewers look pricey at first, they are the size of kebabs so all in all great value!
Its squeaky good. Not too expensive. We love it.
Food here is amazing! Everything we ordered was incredibly tasty. Lamb skewers were amazing as well as the braised lamb noodles.
I ve been visiting this restaurant for 8 years now, and it has been a great place to enjoy xinjiang food. I visited the restaurant today and when I got my bill, 12% tip is included. It s not that I don t tip, I tip good every time but when I see mandatory tip is included in my bill without getting my consent, that s where I get triggered. I told them this is not how tipping culture works in Canada. At least give your customers the options for tip percentage. If this is how you treat your loyal customers then I will never visit this restaurant again. For people who want to enjoy the authentic xinjiang food, google the below restaurants in my list: 1. Orda Uyghur cuisine (Mississauga and Oakville location) 2. Charcoal Kebab (Scarborough and Downtown location) 3. Urumqi Uyghur restaurant(Mississauga location) 4. Taam (Mississauga location) These are the palaces where you can find authentic Uyghur food
Great option for Halal food. Nice portions and food is tender. Love coming here from time to time.
Hidden gem, food is delicious atmosphere is nice we enjoyed our food
Ill give it four stars. The skewers are generally quite delicious.
Went there and the customer service was terrible!!! They are extremely condescending towards customers and I see them being very rude and dismissive toward others. Also very dirty and rude people inside and out
Weekend is very busy
Optional delicious Chinese food at reasonable prices
Great experience recommended
Such a surprise find. The service is great, my father is 89yrs old and even if we have to wait they get him a chair. They are very happy to make the food as you like it less spicy, more spicy etc. Also they are Halal. This is very difficult to find. So to all those people who eat Halal food come and visit this restaurant its great!!!!!
The old Xinjiang restaurant in Toronto opened when I came here, and the dishes are super rich! From mutton skewers and Xinjiang cuisine to Shaanxi noodles and roujiamo, there are also home-cooked dishes~~
Vegetarian options: vegetarian options are marked as leaf on menus, but actually there many foods on menus can be changing to vegetarian just ask waiter before you order Food
Beef skewers are too chewy in my opinion. But the food overall is delicious. We ordered too many dishes
Great dumpling variety
Awesome food
The taste is very good and the portions are large. I recommend the Four Treasure Pancakes, Sizzling Eggplant, and Mushroom Beef Wooden Barrel Rice.
The food is good and the price is affordable. The beef and lamb are fresh and the service is very good. Each portion was super large, and a lot was packed in the end. Food
I went to eat with friends after get off work. The mutton noodles were really good! There is also Xinjiang vegetarian stew. Although it is a vegetarian dish, it is delicious when stir-fried. The winter melon and mushroom soup is so refreshing and sweet. I recommend it. We will go there again.
Excellent food and service. Waiter requested us to tip over 10% in future, because $5 tip was too low.
Kid-friendliness: Food
Authtic taste
Food was good, everything else about the restaurant is decent.
Best Hakka you can get . Beef skewers , squib tenticles are must their fried tofu is also good lotus bun , sizzling beef and house special fried rice are good in the main dish
A very good place to taste Northwestern Chinese cuisine. Accept cash or debit card, except credit card. Food: 4 of 5. Quality was quite good. Membership card sold at $20, with validity period of 2 years. There are two prices for each dish, with/without membership. Generally, price with membership is 10% cheaper. Service: 4 of 5. Young waiter was very friendly and diligent.
so bad! Poor hygiene! Difference! Difference! The fly told the waiter during the tea that he simply changed the cup without saying a word and didnt even take away the dirty cup. It was so disgusting. Never again.
So good I bought the membership. Outstanding food, attentive friendly staff. It made my tummy happy!
The taste of the food is alright, can t say something outstanding or extraordinary. 2 things bothered me so much - 1. 2 different prices, one for members, one for regular. Membership requires a fee. The regular price is unnecessarily high. 2. The waiter added tips amount by themselves, kind of forcing to tip a specific amount/percentage of the bill. That s extortion. Tips should be voluntary and whatever the customer wants to give. They don t even take credit cards, so definitely they are hiding tax amounts from CRA. Won t be comfortable going back to this place again.
Fair
Good food
So friendly staff and such delicious food! If you like freshly made spicy northwestern Chinese dishes, this is the place.
Always great food here. Service is fast. Food is fast to come out and everything doesnt have the same flavoring. Try anything on the menu and you wont be disappointed
The food was good however I found it extremely unpleasant how they extorted the tips out of their customers. The food itself is pricey and we paid around $52 dollars just for the food in the picture. Including this was the 12% tip that the server had already mentioned within the bill by himself?? Upon asking, the server told a story on how another customer had $80 of food but tipped just $1.5. Does this give the authority for you to extort tips out of the remaining customers? I usually pay 10-15% tips but the server cannot dictate what I should given them. It s supposed to be my discretion. This is utter nonsense and calls for filing of a consumer complaint. Tips are not an obligation. We pay for food that we eat. If the servers feel they re paid less, they should tell the owners to pay more and not extort money from the customers. An absolute shame to the owners/management.
Food was pretty good. Good service. Not that busy when I went on Thursday at 5pm. A bit expensive though.
Excellent family owned business . Very welcoming and food is always fresh. Kids friendly .
Very fresh and yummy food serving size is also big
One of my favorite places in Toronto for South Western Chinese foods. I drive down from Ottawa to have their food. I wish they open a store in Ottawa.
Very consistent and delicious
Update 2022 From 2 stars to 5. The restaurant has significantly improved on the customer service front since my last review 5 years ago Their food is always excellent, always new dishes to experiment! We frequent it enough to get their loyalty membership. ************************************** No Tip...Dont come back!! Appalling service even for a Chinese restaurant more to follow.... Good food no doubt We were the only non Chinese at the restaurant a spectacle among other patrons Went at 9 pm were greeted by a waiter and led to the table, great welcome as most of such establishments ignore you at the entrance during rush hour(Friday night perhaps.,,Anyways they were out of leg o lamb n skewers the sole purpose of my visit and our waitress suggested we try alternatives i got 1 which i liked but i still wanted skewers she goes same meat u dont eating skewers i tend to give people benefit of doubt especially the fresh off the boat kind and dont judge them too harshley Food arrived it was great xin jiang, uyghur style, our waitress was nice enough to offer my 3 yo high chair at first and after serving food never once visited or made eye contact.... we needed more cutlery Anyways paid the bill $50.13 for 4 items as we were about to leave she puts the bill in front of my face and says you dont pay tip, we were taken aback said u didnt have the things we wanted she says dont come back!! And throws our left over in the pile as my wife was packing it for my son, when we demanded to see the manager she goes no manager here we requested thru other staff a lady sitting in the corner skewering meat and made an effort to help by smiling sorry We were shocked and laughing all the way back home in a did that just happen??!! State I remember seeing a documentary about how people are enslaved thru trafficking and paid next to nothing when they come here, sorry lady youve got my sympathy but No Tip!! Dietary restrictions: Halal
Its a bit not as tasty as before, but overall its still delicious.
Boiled Okra Fresh~Excellent Ganhu Spicy Beef CD~Tasty I cooked the Roujiamo first when I was hungry. I don t know how it tastes. I finished kakamo. It should be delicious. The meat is rich and juicy~ Lamb offal soup has a slightly strong MSG flavor (deduct a few points) Everything else is fine.
Located in Metro Square Plaza on Steeles Avenue East in Markham, Xin Jiang Restaurant offers genuine Halal cuisine from Northwest China. Renowned for its authentic Xinjiang dishes, this culinary place offers patrons with its signature hand-pulled noodles, skewers and lamb and beef dishes. Membership patrons enjoy a discount price. The servers are polite and professional, but the language spoken are mostly Mandarin, and they are not very fluent in English or Cantonese. If you are not used to spicy foods then ask them to make them less spicy or non-spicy.
Xiyu Restaurant has its own characteristics, allowing us to experience the best service and delicious food.
The portion is so big~
Amazing and tasty halal food, lots of authentic variety of North East Chinese cuisine.. quite crowded and place on weekends.
Lamb skewer pretty mediocre, price point high for what you get.
If youre a fan of spicy, this place is it. The food is top notch and the waiter who served us was even better. I believe the waiters name was Cav, but either way shout outs for the recommendations and thanks for the A+ service.
My family and I love to come here. Their noodles are always chewy and smooth, and the food is always spot on. We dont eat a lot of spicy food, so theyre always willing to make everything less spicy or not spicy at all. I go there with my 1.5 year old, and the waiters and waitresses are always so kind and mindful to us. Highly recommend this place
Wonderful place to have authentic Chinese food. And best noodles i have ever tried here in North America.
Best place to get lamb skewers
We wholly enjoyed the meal and the experience. Lovers of traditional good, especially from Sichuan, Hunan and Beijing, we absolutely loved it. The fact that it is Halal added to the enjoyment, classic dishes without pork was a delight. I look forward to going back soon.
The food was really good. Had to wait to be seated, would recommend making a reservation. They gave complementary tea. The food was fresh and the serving size was plentiful. Their General Taos Chicken is a must try.
Amazing food. We ordered 5 dishes and each dish was perfect. The staff are friendly, the wait time was not to long for our food. Everything was clean. We really enjoyed this experience.
good xing Jiang dishes.
The food was average, the lamb skewers were not charcoal-grilled and were a bit dry, the lamb pilaf was good, but it wasnt much lamb. Overall, it was just okay. Also there are prices different with membership and non membership
Employees are not polite , worst service ever , not recommended,
Great food and services! A place you can taste variety of halal food.
oh
Grilled fish is delicious
W food tbh. Copped me sum general tso chicken with rice combo. It didnt come with an eggrow but went crazy styll.
Maybe I don t have a Xinjiang stomach, I m just average
Amazing food.
The taste is average. I regret getting a VIP card.
The rice noodle is amazing and the beef is excellent!!
Great food
Service was okay. The ladies who served our table were friendly and super nice. But the food and the food materials are horrible. Too salty and the lamb wasn t fresh at all! We had a diarrhea and my friend even threw up 1hour later. Won t go back ever again. Sorry, really not my type. This is the first time I ever gave such a negative opinion. The food was simply too disappointing.
Food taste good but portion was not respectful. I pretty much got big bowl of rice and very very little pieces of beef for $20. Not fair value.
Very bad service Rude waitress Food
This restaurant is my hometown taste, where I spent the difficult adjustment period as a new immigrant, spent my morning sickness period satisfying my appetite for the hometown flavor, and spent every birthday of my child from birth to his current teenage years. , this hotel has become like my kitchen at home. Michel, the manager of this hotel, has watched my children grow up for many years. We have witnessed each others hard work in life. Her meticulous care made me feel like I was at home from the moment I entered the hotel. She was as friendly as a family member. She was attentive and considerate. I have to report here every year, every month, and every week, and I truly feel at home. Needless to say, the taste is the only place where you can find the most authentic Xinjiang rice in Toronto. You must try the classic beef and mutton dishes with the most traditional taste when you come here. The most delicious barbecue in Toronto is second to none! If you don t believe me, come here and try it out to see if it is as sincerely recommended by me as an old Northwester! If you meet Michel, the store manager with a warm smile, your food experience will be enhanced by the warmth of the sun , making your trip worthwhile!
Taste good
Awesome food and hospitality, especially Michelle was amazing! Vegetarian options: Few tofu items are really delicious! Food : 5/5 |
A new era squid assassin worth nearly 9 dollars
The food is amazing and its so delicious. Its a step up from the traditional dishes. The portion is great but the price is quite high. Get their membership if you plan to spent more than $200 in 2 years. I went there twice and now I regret not getting their membership.
The dishes are rich and there are many choices. Great value for money, will come again!
If you want some classic Chinese food. This is your place.
Slightly on the higher price range but the food was excellent! Definitely recommend the crispy beef and tender lamb ribs
I really like how the waiters are so welcoming!
The portion is quite large and the price/performance ratio is good
Legit Uyghur/Turkish (Central Asian) cuisine arising from the Western Chinese province of XinJiang. If you love anything lamb, this is the place.
I went here during my trip to Toronto. The food is absolutely delicious, though the portions are small relative to what I have back home. It is still nice though, and additionally, the spice factor is a well-balanced. The spice is really good.
Tried chicken and beef dishes. One of best halal Chinese places Dietary restrictions: Spicy is really spicy so be careful Food : 5/5 |
Great Xinjiang food, amazing skewers, enough said.
The dishes are decent, but you can get it cheaper at other places for the same quality
Went for lunch on a Monday. Got the spicy braised chicken with hand pulled noodles, the beef brisket soup noodle, and the stir fry noodles with lamb. Food was all delicious, and came out in a timely manner. Servers were attentive and helpful. The only caveat is that I dont think they are very fluent in English or Cantonese: Mandarin is the primary language spoken amongst the servers. If going to Mississauga for Orda is too far for you, I suggest coming here instead.
Authentic and delicious
Xin Jiang is a must try if you love Lamb. The province in China is literally known for their exquisite Lamb dishes. A must try would be their Lamb pilaf rice (although alittle pricey for such a small portion), the dish is oozing of Lamb aromas. Their sizzling plate Eggplant/ potatoes/ meat is also one of our favourite. Their fried beef is also delectable and has a numbing and spicy tone to it which i enjoyed. When you come here, there will be two prices you see on the menu. The red one is for the vip members. It cost 20$/2 years to be a member. If you order alot or you see yourself coming here atleast 3 times, it might be worth your while to consider the membership . Overall, it has become one of our familys favourite places to dine in. The service is also very fast and friendly. AAA+
I ve been here a fews times.. and we feel like it s a place would come back to, unfortunately the food today wasn t good The signature dish Chicken In a Pot lacked flavour and the chicken was dry/over-cooked, we won t order this again The Perserdwe Egg and Tofu didn t work out either Next time we come, won t be as adventurous again.. Dinner for two was $54 plus tip
Good food .
Excellent halal Chinese food, would definitely go back to sample more of the menu. Service may seem indifferent to those who expect Western-style table service but I am not fussed.
went there on Feb 6th, had fever and diarrhea on Feb 7th. Not just me, but also my friends. im really concerned about the food safety there, about to file a food complaint to York Region.
The round-faced short waiter has a very bad service attitude!
Absolutely delicious bbq, must try spot!
Across our table, there were some customers coughing badly without covered their mouths and we were forced to seat beside the washroom as it was the only table left. We were surprised that one of our diah was cooked with aluminum foil wrapped around the hot plate. From the photo you could see part of aluminum foil were badly burned out by the gas stove fire. There was probably a lot of heavy metal released into our foods which might causes you Parkinson disease. Our first time there but unfortunately the last time for sure!
Love it
Can t rate much lower, such a toxic restaurant. Came far away for their lunch promotion, was told they don t have it until Jan.8th because now is during the holiday..But today is Friday. And waiting time is extremely longer than normal, the girls working here will ignore you even you wave at them. And when I wanna do checkout, they asked me if I am from Xinjiang, any relevance to discount if I am your homeboy?? The food here looks okay but tastes cold, but that noodle is not a cold dish in any area
Food is great, lots of options, service could be quicker but wait staff is busy and doing their best, also didn t have to wait long for items to arrive. Grilled items, particularly the lamb skewers were very good. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair ramp when entering from parking lot, staff helped us find a table that was wheelchair friendly.
Its was decent, there are definitely better places for uyghur food.
Food is based on the North Western Chinese cuisine. Awesome! They have wide range of menu options.
Handpulled noodle means hand pulled from another supplier! R28 is a disaster! Not hand pulled noodle at all! I don t understand why they brought from another supplier. It s obviously exactly same size noodle and no tender taste at all. The service was like ok, make it short! Horrible service. R19 with beef, beef is like under cook and hard to crew. Will got stuck between teeth. Credit card is charging another EXTRA 3%(which means they gonna make money out of credit card transactions, usually credit card company charges 1.25%). Nv go back again. No wonder Sheppard store shut down.
Had the skewers and the fried rice with raisin last time, they were very good. Came here again especially for the skewers, found them not roasted but deep fried, understood that made it fast but tasted not as good as last time. Still giving five stars for it. Just don t do that again please
Wow. Just wow. The food is DELICIOUS. You will not regret it. It is now our familys favorite restaurant. Must try the BBQ skewers. We had the bbq lamb, bbq cabbage, and bbq tofu and a few more dishes which were all amazing. Cant wait to go back and try more from their huge menu selection! And theyre HALAL!
The food is delicious, beautiful and delicious, the price is affordable, the portions are generous, and the service attitude is very good. It is the best and happiest Chinese restaurant I have ever eaten. I particularly like it and eat it often.
We loved the noodles and fried crispy beef. Tasted pretty good. For the price quantity was okay, but couldve been better. Great place for family dine in. Its all halal too. We would come again to try other items. 4.5/5
Unique taste and attentive service.
Came in with high hopes but was quickly dashed by a somewhat stale fish and mutton soup. Fries chilli cabbage was good though. Generally a bit disappointed
The restaurants food is very authentic, and I recommend their hand-caught sheep. The ingredients are fresh. Only the restaurant has a problem with soundproofing, making it very noisy.
Favourite Xinjiang restaurant in the GTA. Lamb skewers are a must get along with their noodle dishes!
Yummy halal food
Excellent food and generous portions
This has been our goto place for a few years now. The service is great, and the variety of dishes is delicious. I would recommend paying for the VIP card if you go with a bigger group. The VIP discounts are worth the price of membership. Food : 5/5
Fantastic food, huge portions
Still as good as I remmeber it to be. Re-visited after several years and food is bang-on. Theyve remodeled the interior from the last time I remember. Service is fast and they dont pressure you to leave. We easily sat there for 2+ hours. Its easy to get carried away and order a lot of food. The price adds up quickly so be careful. We got lamb skewers, beef skewers, hot buns on skewers, fried tofu skewer, cabbage, onion pancake beef roll, some spicy noodle with beef (forgot the name), and a pitcher of beer. Food was fantastic. Beef skewers were a bit on the chewy side. The noodles were the star of the evening. The beer pitcher tasted like light beer.
We had meal at this restaurant a few years ago and it was decent. This time it was an awful experience. We ordered 4 dishes, all of them were super oily and we cant eat anymore half way through, the lamb soup was not lamb soup at all it didnt taste any lamb flavor. The BBQ lamb rib was tough like rubber. We paid 140$ (August 2023), which is nearly double the price we had at a nearby restaurant also a lamb specialty which was really good taste. And I have to pack up left over foods by myself, never did that before by the way. We dont mind the high price as long as it taste good. I would honest pay 60$ for this 4 dishes meal.
Price is high, but food is bang on. They do not over-season, which I greatly appreciate. Service is prompt.
If you are looking for the best spicy lamb kabobs look no further, this restaurant has been the go to for all my outings. The service is amazing and the food is even better. 10/10
Went this weekday for a quick lunch, ordered lamb meat with eggplant in bucket and beef stew noodle. Beef stew noddle is very salty, the flavor is lame and all you can taste is salty. We only eat quarter of it. Lamb eggplant taste better than beef noddle, the dish portion is very small, it is spread on top of the bucket of rice, as a female, it was okay portion but would not for a regular. Taste is mediocre, meat is not tender and pieces are not fitted down properly. Leaving a lot meat not eatable. The dishes costs 14 each before tax and tips. The time I went is just 12pm business is not busy, but service is very lag even according to Chinese restaurant standards in this area
The Xinjiang-style Big Plate Chicken is very delicious and the portion is enough for 2-3 people. Highly recommend their lamb skewers, which are very authentic and tasty. If you re looking for a restaurant with Xinjiang flavors, I highly recommend this one
Good Halal Food. We went for the patio and it was a good experience. We went there again on Sep 2023 and their food is good as always. We ordered hot & sour soup, egg fried rice and lamb with green onion. All food tastes good. This time no patio was there, so ate inside the restaurant.
We enjoy the thick noodles, and the lamb skewers here. Rice in wood container ( is steamy hot, we enjoyed it as well. Food in general tastes good but we found most of the dishes taste the same because they use pretty much the same spice and the same cooking style on each dish.
It was my first time visiting this establishment. The food was really good. I am looking forward to trying more items. Thank you!
The best Chinese food Ive had in the GTA. Ill be thinking about my meal here for years.
The service is great and the food is delicious
The environment is good, the waiters are also very good, there are specials every day, good quality and low price, it is worth checking in
Very tasty,
Delicious food, good service
Avanti lamb chops are delicious Don t order the naan.. extremely hard, my teeth hurt.
Amazing food and service
Best Halal spot for Authentic Chinese food. We ordered lamb celery dumplings, stir fried rice noodles and crispy beef. Everything was done to perfection. Staff was extremely courteous. Food came quick and was piping hot and freshly made. Cant believe they are not touching a 5 star already. Highly recommended.
Ordered a few dishes, and the BBQ cabbage and tofu skin came out boiled and fried. Lost faith in anything they do and left. Terrible taste and texture.
False advertisement. Ordered barbecue & the food was boiled & fried. Super disappointed! Would not recommend
Everything was 5 star. Visited twice there in a week. Its one of the very few halal Chinese restaurants in Markham. There are many items in the menu and all we tried were good. The ambience is great. Their service is very quick and the portions are of good size. All items are served piping hot. Parking is not an issue here as there is a huge parking area. They dont accept credit cards.
Beef noodles soup braised is spicy and very yummy
tasty!
This is an authentic Xinjiang cuisine place that serves great halal food with generous portions. The Xinjiang Style BBQ Lamb Kabob was amazing. Very Xinjiang style, the meat flavor was brought out by the lamb oil and got further elevated by the smokiness from the griller, with the chili powder drizzled on top... A must-try. And not exaggerating, youll see in this place almost every table has ordered this same dish. The BBQ Chicken Wings were yummy too. Braised Bone-In Lamb Served Over Naan - A different way of cooking lamb but very flavorful. Highly recommend letting the naan pieces fully soak into the gravy. The place was clean and spacious, and the service was great. The staff was friendly and efficient. Will definitely revisit. Food (quality, creativity, consistency) - 5/5 Drinks (quality, variety) - NA/5 Ambience (interior design, cleanliness) - 4.5/5 Service (courtesy, knowledge, timeliness) - 5/5 Value (quality vs. price) - 5/5
Really tasty dishes. If you say you like it spicy, you get it spicy. Staff are helpful when theyre not short handed, but even when they are, theyre very initiative. Favourite of the night would be the skewers and their desserts.
Very good, good quality and cheap
We were very frustrated. We went in at early six oclock to make a table for four people and spent more than 200 dollars. At 8:30, they came to chase us away because they thought we had been sitting for too long and told us that their dining time was 1.5 hours. If we were told in advance we could accept the bad attitude of the waiter. This store is almost perfect with this kind of waiter.
The voice you hear on the phone makes you want to go. When I entered, I was served a bowl of millet soup and then ordered. I cant tell where Im from because I speak Mandarin well. The voice is nice, and the words come out as warm as the winter sun. Ive been to two Western Restaurants in Markham and Sijiabo, but they didnt feel as good as this one. The food is even better because of this person. Five-star praise.
Clean and authentic north Chinese food
My whole family loves this restaurant! Our go-tos are the lamb and eggplant in rice, the salty egg fried pumpkin and any of the soups! Dietary restrictions: Restaurant is halal and does not serve pork.
The fried lamb with green onion for 24 feels like it can be finished in three bites. . . . Really impressed with the value for money
The service, atmosphere, and the staff are the best. They are very humble, smiling, and welcoming. Such a hardworking and grateful group of people. It s my first time here and I ll definitely come again to give them a chance and try something different. I ordered beef dumplings and spicy and sour shrimp soup. I was so disappointed of the soup. Sour and spicy must taste like tom yum soup, however, it had no taste of sour and spicy. It should be named something else, like shrimp and vegetables soup or whatever. I m an expert on soup and I wouldn t recommend their spicy and sour soup at all. On the other hand, I wanted to know what dumplings tasted like so i gave it a shot. The beef dumplings itself tastes good. However, it s a bit tasteless if you don t dip it in some vinegar or chili oil. Unfortunately, I didn t know that and I don t like vinegar. So, it wasn t the smartest choice but it was worth trying. Nicest people i liked the place because of them.
Amazing food and Ambiance. Dont forget to get the membership ($20 per membership - 2 years) if your spending around 70$ to 80$, benefits over the long run if you visit for atleast 2 more times.
To taste their wines To taste their ice wines
We arrived at 2:00PM for a late lunch. The restaurant was almost all full. (Once you try their food you will know why!) We ordered a variety of skewers - BBQ squid tentacles, BBQ a beef tendon skewer, and BBQ beef. Even though we asked for not spicy the skewers were well spiced and flavourful. (Every table in the restaurant had ordered skewers.) The hand pulled wide noodles with beef were soft and chewy. Their hand pulled noodles are highly recommended. There were a variety lamb dishes. We choose baked lamb shank with herbs. It was lamb-y and juicy. We also ordered the BBQ eggplant. It was smoky and super garlicky.
Dietary restrictions: Great Wheelchair accessibility: Great Food : 5/5 |
This was my 4th-5th time going, the food is always amazing and the service is always good. Definitely recommend!
I highly recommend this Xinjiang restaurant in Markham! The flavors are exquisite, offering a delightful blend of spices and authentic ingredients. The hand-pulled noodles are a must-try, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Each dish reflects the rich culinary traditions of Xinjiang, providing a unique and memorable dining experience. The staff is friendly, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The restaurants attention to detail in both service and food quality sets it apart. Whether youre a fan of lamb skewers, cumin-spiced dishes, or savory dumplings, this place delivers an authentic taste of Xinjiang cuisine. Its a gem in Markhams culinary scene, and I cant wait to return for another flavorful journey.
Delicious food! We ordered a variety of different dishes and none of them was a disappointment. Personally, I did not enjoy the Xinjiang dumplings but maybe thats the way its supposed to be made.
I went to this store for the first time today. Let s not talk about the delicious food. First of all, I want to give a big thumbs up to the waiter here A Fujian girl wearing glasses. She is warm, thoughtful, considerate and kind, and warms us in the cold winter. She will be serious Looking at your menu, I suggest that you change the large portion to small portions. Every time I ask her a question, she is always kind and like family. I applied for a membership card without hesitation. I am really glad that the owner of this restaurant has such a good experience. The waiter The mutton kebabs are definitely No. 1 in addition to being a little expensive. The cumin mutton is also fragrant to the soul, and the spicy and spicy fried noodles are endless aftertaste...well worth a visit! ! !
Very delicious very affordable and authentic
Food was good taste but definitely on the higher price end than other chinese restaurants. Smaller portions than expected. Tasty but service and atmosphere is minimal average.
The long-cherished lamb offal soup warms the heart and stomach The dining environment is good but the service needs to be improved
This is our 3rd time here was waiting before reviewing for their consistency. We ordered several bar b q skewers and the. Beef chilly fry and chicken with spicy fried rice. If you re sensitive to spicy then ask them to make non spicy. Amazing taste and authentic cuisine. It has become our favorite go to place. We re thinking of getting the membership as well. Parking: Big parking lot but with bunch of other restaurants and busy too. However you ll always get a spot probably a bit far.
