11 Fairburn Dr Unit 12-15, Markham, ON L6G 0A4, Canada
First time visiting this place for dinner. Open concept but decor is minimal. Portions are quite small for the price. All dishes are super salty with no flavour. Service is good and dishes come out fast. We ordered: 104 Chicken avocado burger $11.79 517 spicy squid fish $9.49 525 Curry pork chop lo mien $11.29 404 octopus chicken lo mien $11.95 310 baked pork chop rice Drinks Milk tea complementary with combo Pink lady $2.25 combo upgrade price Iced Ovaltine $2.25 combo upgrade price Honey lemon water $0.75 to add honey My tongue hurts from the overly salt dishes. I would not return for the food. The drinks are good.
This place is DECADENT. The best pineapple bun sandwiches, incredible satay soup. Did I mention the prices??? Value out of this world. 10/10 incredible, if I could pick one food spot to eat at for the rest of my life, it would be cafe de Hong Kong ‼️🐐💯
Food was great and the portions are a good size and prices were very reasonable. This place is super busy so my recommendation is join the wait list online before you get there; otherwise, you can join the wait list when you arrive and then go shopping at the nearby plaza and they’ll text you when the table is ready. We went on a weekday during lunch and the wait time was an hour. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. We had the baked pork chops and clay pot satay beef instant noodles- both were great!
The waitress & waiter are nice and helpful. 2 of us having Signature Titan Pineapple Bun burger, it is very delicious. With lots of sauce and lots of different ingredients in it. The Pineapple bun itself is yummy as the top is crispy. Must try another pineapple bun dish next time. The curry fish all n squid is good, the only tjing that make me a bit upset is not enough sauce. The deep fried chicken and fries is super good. The chicken leg is crispy outside and juicy inside. The salty egg yolk sauce brings the dish more yummy. The milk tea isn't have much surprises. Just as other restaurant.
We ordered the chicken with rice as well as rice and pork chop with cheese (not pictured here). The chicken with rice was delicious with the sauce. The rice and pork chop was totally covered with so much cheese. Both dishes were quite delicious. We also tried egg with chicken and curry. The sauce was the best part. We did not wait long for our food and the service was great.
Popular Hong Kong style cafe that’s pretty much always busy. Be sure to put yourself on the waiting list. And when you get there, put in the system that you’ve arrived to get your table faster. The baked rice was good. The chicken leg had less meat than expected. The pineapple bun octopus patty burger was interesting. Good if you don’t mind a bit of a wait!
Okay, get ready to line up to snag a table but so worth it. We lined up 10min prior to opening on a Saturday and got a booth when it opened. Place had many tables but filled up with all the ppl that lined up. I wouldnt come in a group bigger than 4-6 unless some are toddlers and/or okay with sitting nearby but not same the table. Got 1) meal set c (luncheon meat with rice noodle soup which my son devoured, scrambled egg, bread with condensed milk & butter, ham) 2) #212 thick HK french toast with peanut butter and side of honey (mmmmmm) 3) #104 crispy fried chicken avocado pineapple bun (So huge, you essentially have 2 pieces of giant chicken and must take one out so the burger can fit your mouth lmao) Service was quick and they give you tea as you sit down. All that for $35 and that was pretty filling! We can't wait to go back 🥰🥰🥰 P. S. They have ikea high chairs if needed.
This is a Hong Kong-style restaurant, and the milk tea tastes quite authentic. We came in a group of 6 and 3 of us ordered the shrimp pork egg with rice, and it was quite delicious. The owner was very nice. We arrived around 6:40pm, just before their last call, but they let us continue eating even after closing time. The prices were also very reasonable. It was a good place for a quick bite.
Finally got to come here without having to wait. Usually a long line consistently or have to reserve a spot using Yelp online if I m not mistaken. Came just a bit after it opened and was lucky enough to get one of the last two tables The hype is definitely real with this hk style spot. Wanted to really stray from the pineapple bun burgers, but I just couldn t resist since they looked and sounded so good I got the foie gras black truffle while my friend got the fried chicken one. The pineapple bun is just perfect. Nice little crispy crust that isn t overly sweet. The foie gras was nice but do wish there was more. However, for price point, I get it. My friends fried chicken one was enormous. Two huge pieces of fried chicken and looked so nice and crispy. We had to get the satay instant noodle too since it looked so good in the pictures and it was the perfect thing for a chilly day to have something nice and brothy. Parking can be tough in this plaza as many spots are reserved. But if you find a spot by the whole restaurant corner, just park as soon as a spot is available. Would totally recommend coming here. Great job overall
Tasty food
Visited early Saturday morning with another couple of friends. The restaurant opens at 10 oclock. When I arrived at 10:30, there were already many people waiting outside the door. The restaurant has a Yelp pre-queuing service. Be sure to use it. You can save a lot of waiting time. When you go to the restaurant on the left, you can chat with the waiter until everyone is there, and you can be seated early. The menu is very rich and has everything you need. There are at least 4 choices for breakfast. Others have posted about it, so I won t post it again. The food quality is kept to the level of a Hong Kong tea restaurant. Having breakfast in a tea restaurant in Canada can soothe your homesickness. The whole dining process was pleasant. Although there were people waiting for a table, the waiters did not rush the diners. However, everyone was as efficient as Hong Kong people. After finishing the meal, they would voluntarily leave their seats to give up their seats, so the turnover was fast. Please note that parking spaces are very limited. If you cant park outside the door, you have to park in other parking spaces in the mall and walk farther away. Parking: Because there are so many people, it is difficult to wait for a parking space.
Food is great and good portion for the price, service is quick, but very squishy, and long wait-list if youre not early enough. Parking: Very few spots are for the restaurant. Most parking spaces are for the other businesses in the plaza.
Friendly staff. Tasty food. Reminds me of home
Waiting times have improved significantly
Every time I come here I can say this place never disappoints. They are that good and more importantly consistent. What more do you want from a food establishment? Food
The special menu has pictures but no price. Please look for another menu. Dietary restrictions: All the breakfast items were served, including the milk tea, and the other items were all frozen after the first item!
Its delicious and affordable. You just need to queue up in advance.
went there again few days ago with my friend, she had the Club Sandwich with hot chocolate and i had Baked Pork Chop Rice (ordered with less sauce) with HK Milk Tea, we did the online check in (line-up ahead, waited few minutes after weve arrived)
I am from Hong kong, I can tell that this owner does his best to keep the flavor and the feel of Hong Kong in this cafe. We ordered breakfast, the taste reminds us of our past in Hong Kong. Definitely recommend and we will be back. I would give a six star if I can
The most busiest Cantonese style cafe restaurant in Markham, prepare to wait for a table if you dont make a waiting list online ahead. Price is very affordable compared to same style of food.
Good price and good portions
Excellent Kid-friendliness: Has high chair Food : 5/5 |
My favourite place for hainanese chicken!!! It s never dry and is so good. The tomato porkchop baked rice is good too, but you don t get much for the price you re paying. The waitlist is usually very long but it s definitely worth it!
Hainanese chicken rice, baked pork chop on rice, hk style toast . Very good Highly recommend the hk style milk tea All staffs helpful, polite and sincere Food
This time around Food was OK. We ordered the Hainan Rice and Noodle Soup combo with Egg toast. It was not mind blowing tbh!
Always an amazing meal and service. Have been here over 10 times and its always been amazing.
Food was great. Very tasty. Extremely busy so a bit of a wait for lunch.
Don t understand why this Hong Kong cafe was hyped up (with wait times during dinner) - super average and the menu isn t that extensive Their house style fried rice comes with fried anchovies - didn t really go well together in my opinion The curry beef brisket lo mein with thick egg noodle wasn t bad but nothing special
NOT allergy friendly. Snack platter sauce options were plain soy sauce and satay. I asked, in Cantonese (so language barrier was not an issue) if they used peanut oil to fry the food - they use vegetable oil. I asked specifically if it was the satay sauce that had peanuts, the answer was yes - so I asked for the plain option. My family member is currently washing out his mouth in the shower and ensuring all traces of peanuts are out of his system. If not for him always taking precautions and not actually consuming the food we bought for takeout, this could have been anaphylactic shock and a hospital visit instead. I know allergies are not always taken seriously at Chinese establishments. Please ensure proper communication between your wait and kitchen staff. We have eaten at HK cafes all our lives, in higher end places as well as ones that are borderline health code violations, and this is unacceptable. Though the food is good, I probably wont come here again because I dont trust them them with regard to food safety and cross contamination.
Overstaffed, excellent service, great prices, and quality food. Café de Hong Kong offers an affordable menu with delicious options. The Hainanese chicken is our favorite it s boneless and served with four different types of condiments. The restaurant is clearly overstaffed, as there s always a team member nearby ready to assist. Though we don t visit frequently, one of the staff members remembered our usual order of Hainanese chicken and had it ready to order by default, which was a pleasant surprise. Their friendliness and strong customer focus are key to their continued success.
A decent Hongkong restaurant, pricing is reasonable
Every time I tried visiting this restaurant, there has always been a line. Finally decided to join the virtual line through Yelp before heading over, and it was the greatest decision. The food was delicious and the staff was quite attentive. However, the parking is ridiculous and the one hour wait was excessive.
This restaurant does not take walk-ins. We came and lined up for about 10 mins; no one came to greet or set expectations of wait time; then many tables became available but they told us we only get admitted if we joined the waitlist on yelp, then started checking if all these parties waiting on yelp would show up We just left. Really, are you a family doctor by appointment only? How stupid is that No business deserves your hard earned money for this kind of attitude.
The taste is good, but the portion is smaller than expected
Decent hk cafe, very well priced for its portion. Variety on the menu. Would recommend and come back!
It s so delicious that I burst into tears
It is a very popular HK style restaurant. We need to wait for at least 10 minutes to get the table. The service is good. The food is delicious . Need work on the cleanliness a bit.
Food is good, and joining a waitlist is a must.
It is a crowded restaurant on a monday morning. The short haired lady proposed and gave us a bench seat. Very good service and affordable price, we will come back again next time!
Good HK style cafe!! Fast service but long line ups to get in!
The food is very good, I like the hot milk tea , the environment is bright and clean, and the seats are comfortable.
Their food is better than average. Their price is also slightly better than most. Combined with some items not found in other places, this makes the place a favorite go-to for HK food lovers. Long lines during busy hours.
The food is amazing and fast to deliver. Only one thing need to improve is too crowded when dining in Food
Cheap and good quality!
It takes a long time to wait for a seat but there is a waitlist, so its not a big problem. But the ice fire pineapple oil is so delicious
Delicious food, amazing prices
The food is really good and the service is also very good
Too many people, waiting for table is likely in every visit
Food is always tasty here! Staff are friendly, service is quick!
Very good food, nice service and affordable price; Very good food, nice service and affordable price;
There is a reason why this place has a long lineup everyday. The food is just simply good and reasonably priced
I came here for brunch two days in a row, and it was almost full within 10 minutes of opening hours ~ It s really no surprise! The meals are simple and delicious, and the price is cheap~ The delivery speed is also very fast~
Food was very good. Waiting time is approximately 30-40 min. Be sure to get there early.
Been here a few times since they opened during Covid. One of the friendliest staff maybe bc I was pregnant and now carrying an infant around. But they are very caring to make sure you don t fall and aware of where to put your baby. like how there s an online waitlist so I can waitlist an hr earlier get ready and be there. The food is decently priced and a bit diff from other hk cafe that they have a lot of pineapple bun selections. I d say an 8.5/10 for food
Taste is good for the price and portion you get, if come here during the weekend, highly recommend to arrive 10-15 min before 10 am open time to avoid waiting.
The food and service were great. Its the best Hong Kong style restaurant in the Markham area.
This is one of the restaurants with the worst service in the GTA. I will never patronize it again. I queued up at the screen registration at 11:30 this morning, but it wasnt until after 12 oclock. Later, when I checked in at the screen, both of them had their turn to be seated. I argued with the waitress, and she took out her notebook and said that her registration was the priority. Oh, I have been sitting in the waiting area and never left. What s the point? I left angrily and never came back. Is it the only good one in most areas? ?
Loved the food and customer service!! Will go back for sure
Very busy place that needs to take a number and wait for 30mins easily. Food is not big size while quality is not bad. HK MILK tea the only notable item you can not miss
Very tasty food and good portion. Good service..easy to join waiting list.
Good value. Good food
Chinese food in Markham is on another level indeed. Growing up in Singapore where Hainanese chicken rice is arguably the national dish, I was skeptical of the HK rendition here. But I was thoroughly impressed! It might look a little different (its more yellowish than Im used to) , the taste was incredible. I loved the sambal chilli sauce and the portion was HUGE! Forget about authencity - this is the best chicken rice Ive had in the GTA for as long as I can remember. We also ordered the pineapple bin and HK milk tea. The bun was ok - kinda greasy with all the butter - but the milk tea was marvelous. The taste of tea was strong (the way I like it) and not too sweet. They charge extra if you do takeout but with such great food here, its best to dine in anyway. Definitely worth the trek to Markham and blows all the competition downtown out of the water.
They do have one of the best Hainanese Chicken Rices in GTA. The taste of Honk Kong Milk Tea is pretty rich and thick. The only bad thing is about the long waiting line, it is unbelievable taking too long lol. However, you may feel the time you spend for waiting is worth of it. JUST Give it a shot!!! Parking: Lots of free parking spots Kid-friendliness: High chair provided
Remember to join the waitlist. The food is consistently delicious, priced reasonably, and the service is fast and friendly enough despite being busy all the time.
Great hk tea. Their food is good too. You have to come early to avoid waiting.
Good food and price
I came back after a while, and it felt like I had used ten thousand years of oil. Both the western toast and the fried chicken spleen were black and soggy... *** Very cost-effective and appropriate service. Please allow 30-60 minutes from reservation to seated.
In love with place, food is delicious also quantity is very good. Service is great as well. Make sure to add your name in wait list before long line up most of the time
Came here on a Saturday and it was busy. The place is not big and theres always a lineup. Tip is to add to yourself to the waitlist online prior to coming since the lineup can be quite long (it said itll be a 100min wait for our group size but we got a text saying a table was ready after 20min). Once we were seated and ordered, the food came super fast. Got the haineanese chicken which came with soup and a drink. Also ordered the salted egg lava French toast. Both tasted very good. The servers were also very nice and I didnt feel rushed. Would come back again but will most likely do takeout to avoid the wait.
This is the best Hong Kong Style cafe in the Markham neighborhood.
Outstanding, amazing hk comfort food
Bottle milk tea is ok! The scallion oil chicken steak and smooth egg are good!
Is this place permanently closed now? The days and hours say closed for every day.
First time here, long queue on the app. Good food, good price! Both drinks are very tasty.
Very courteous staff.
Good quality food with sumptuous quantity. Cheaper than McDonald s but there is always a lineup and closes early
Very tasty but no afternoon snack specials. Very crowded even at 2:30
The hostess and waitress are the ultimate rudest people I have ever met. They are not interested in your business. They told us to go somewhere else when we asked them how much longer we have to wait.
reserved online before arriving and arrived on time but still had to wait around 5 minutes to be seated, although they were very busy as usual so I didn t mind too much! the #101 signature was very yummy, a nice balance of each flavour and the pineapple bun was very crunchy. I can see why it s a favourite, definitely recommend as a first visit choice! I also tried #205, the molten salted egg yolk French toast with pork floss, it was good! didn t have too much pork floss on it and was very soft in texture, no complaints really! With both dishes I had a cold Hong Kong milk tea and it was delish, went well with both!
Love the vibe, most of the food was delicious and reasonably priced.
Delicious Hong Kong Food, good variety of food. The Molten Salted Egg Yolk French Toast is really good. Salted Egg Yolk Corn is also good. It was packed even at 3pm on weekday, highly recommend to put your name on Yelp Waitlist before u come.
This restaurant is very crowded for a very good reason. If you want to be sure you can get in for breakfast, you must line up before it opens. I ordered a fried chicken and avocado pineapple bun burger. It was huge, delicious and at the price of only 12 dollars, it was definitely worth it! If youre going to order this, you should either share it or be sure youre very hungry so theres more than enough space in your stomach. Every single dish we ordered is amazing! I would definitely recommend this place.
Taste good, price reasonable! Long long line up!
More modern fusion than authentic but still pretty good
Food is ok although their HK style milk tea was great. The Hiananese chicken rice is very yellow which looks quite artificial. Taste was ok but not exceptional. A bit disappointed as the wait was long and there are always a line up. Parking is nightmare there as lots of parkings are reserved.
We had the clay pot with satay beef and noodle, as well as the Meal D (satay beef noodle) with truffle on egg toast. Kids really like satay, so they ordered a lot of that to try. I ate the truffle on egg toast. All meals came with a drink, need to add a little for cold drinks. Parking: The restaurant is among a few other restaurants and businesses. The free parking is for the restaurants, but limited. The businesses have spots reserved, which in turn means even less spots.
No friend chicken wings and fries, no curry chicken with rice . Menu is so limited and the store is complete aoda violation. No accessible washroom, small space and no automatic door Food : 1/5
Traditional Hong Kong style ice house, delicious and reasonably priced
fried chicken with bun so good ! But chicken noodles there 2 pc is raw I understand you almost close when I walk in is 6:35pm by the time, I order is 6:50pm Chicken cut is pieces to serve and no one saw that is not fully cook?
Signature Hainanese Chicken Rice & H.K. Style Milk Tea are Delicious
The food quality is generally nothing special. I don t know why there are so many people queuing up?
Delicious Hong Kong food at an amazing price! I always get the hainan chicken rice and the portion is huge. The wait could be over 2 hours so I always suggest lining up on Yelp before you arrive.
Got the Hainanese chicken for take out and it had all the fixings with lots of great tasting chicken. Recommend. Minor nitpick is the consistency as one of the 3 that I got was missing a cucumber slice (as shown in photo).
Amazing Food! Very reasonable prices. Big portions. Hanan Chicken is their specialty dish.
Its took me about 30 minutes to get a table since their are no reservations. I got their fried rice. In my opinion they gave me a lot of fried rice. Id going to this place again. Just keep in mind that there is a long wait. Parking: Most parking spots are taken
The HK milk tea/coffee is great
Very popular restaurant. The food is great ! the pineapple bun burger is really good loaded bugger! The curry rice and fried rice is on point great taste and wok hei! Make sure to get in line on yelp on the wait list!
Great HK cafe! Huge variety of the usual cafe staples, but pretty generous portions with a good price point. The wait can be pretty long, but thankfully you can join the waitlist on Yelp remotely and linger nearby. They are pretty quick to move on to the next person if you don t come in time for your place in line, so be sure to be a few mins nearby! Service is quick and no frills, with tables as tight together as possible. All their items are delicious and great comfort food. Their IG staple fried chicken and avocado pineapple bun does live up to the hype. Downsides is the tiny amount of avocado on the bun (barely noticeable) and there is an odd after taste on the fried chicken, which I can t quite put my finger on. This is true for all their fried foods. Overall, still a great spot if you can get on line. Their breakfast specials are great, if you can get here in time!
The molten toast is divine. Everything else was delicious, I wish I had enough room to eat the whole menu. Ladies working there are lightning speed and so efficient
Quality food at very reasonable price. The hainanese chicken rice is the signature dish to try, chicken is tender, rice is done nicely with the right fragrance and taste, and added with the favourable sauces makes it a perfect dish. Satay beef instant noodles is worth trying as well, and the hong kong style milk tea is also a must order item. Overall service is good, and remember to join the wait list before heading to the restaurant to save some waiting time. Parking: Beware some spots are reserved for other businesses
Parking: There are some parking spots (~15) right outside of the restaurant Food
wake-up early to get into waitlist if you want to try this popular spot. Signature Hainanese Chicken Rice - the chicken was cooked very well and it was very flavourful, strong chicken taste. Molten Salted Egg Yolk French Toast - must try, great flavour, perfect combination of sweet and savoury. Ginger Scallion Chicken Lo Mein - it wasn t as flavourful as I wish it was, it was missing a stronger sauce, great meat. Black Truffle Scrambled Egg on Toast - truffle taste was too strong and overwhelmed the egg, not our favourite. Satay Beef Rice Noodle in Soup - it was good but nothing special Shrimp, BBQ Pork and Egg on Rice w/ Sweet Soy - great portions and great flavour
The food is good but the staff there are rude and impolite
This is the third time visit this restaurant, you will need to line up online first before head to the restaurant. It has a bit waiting time. The salty egg corn is very delicious, and then the egg on the bread is very nice too. The vermecilli is very good is tasfe as well. The pineapple bun with butter is so evil, but it is yummy ! Coming to Toronto for a good milktea is here. Last but not least, i believe this store employees are mirror fans!
The wait is crazy especially when its already busy. The food is very nostalgic
Excellent food and extremely affordable prices , highly recommend to visitors wanting to taste some authentic Hong Kong foods. I am going to miss this place as Edmonton doesnt has any comparable restaurant like this one.
Poor service and attitude. Average food.
Fast serving, authentic, reasonably priced. Tea or coffee is included. Usually, its a 30 mins wait. Recommended dishes
Always need to wait, so many people
good
Food is amazing at the price you re paying. It s a shame we waited for an hour and a half for seats in the wait list, but well worth it
The food is mediocre and the service is bad. I dont know how to clean the tablecloth and make sure it doesnt touch you. I can only greet regular customers, but even strangers will be stupid to ignore you! Seats at the same table make you feel homesick like Hong Kong. It is extremely narrow and uncomfortable. If you want to go out to eat with your friends, you will definitely not choose this place. After you finish eating, you will quickly collect the d plate and you will be given a clear signal to leave as soon as possible. , if fast food can survive in Toronto with this service level, only a group of loyal fans will continue to give it 5 stars. If you live far away, come here to try it out
Waited around 15 minutes at around 6pm. Had the pineapple bun with black truffle, egg, hame sandwich (delicious and main reason I gave this place 4 stars), French toast with salty egg filling (just ok, sweet and no salty egg flavor), beef satay ramen noodle (not enough satay flavor). Service was fast and decent.
I had the highly recommended Hainan Chicken Rice but found that it didnt seem to be as good as Phoenix. The Ginger Chicken Lo Mein was good, with well cooked chicken and fragrant ginger flavour.
As a HongKonger, I would say the food here is very authentic with creativity. All the food we ordered was ready within 10 mins. Their taste met our expectations and we feel like home. The price is very reasonable speaking of the portion. The only drawback is the super long waiting time on weekends. Better join the waitlist when youre on your way.
The service attitude is good and the price is fair. The boss is an honest man and told me that I paid too much. It turns out there are two banknotes stuck together. He truly deserves to be a conscience Himuro!
Very authentic tea restaurant
I ve been to many HK cafes in Toronto and this one is by far the best experience yet. The only downside is they don t take reservations so be sure to go early. My family and I went on a Monday morning at 10:30 am and entered our information on the wait list. While the expected waiting time said 15-30 minutes, we were seated within 5 minutes. The decor is clean, bright and modern with vintage ads from HK along the walls. Nostalgic and inviting. The menu had a large amount of variety - more than other HK cafes uptown. We ordered a good mix of breakfast and lunch items. The two standout items were the foie gras and truffle pineapple bun and the salted egg French toast. Both excellent fusion examples that elevate the originals - I ll be craving both again soon. The service was efficient, quick and curt - just what I d consider top Chinese restaurant service. Will definitely be back.
Great food and atmosphere, my only complaint is that the waitress seemed to be rushing us out at the end after we had finished our meal. It was rush hour so I don t blame her, but it was still slightly unpleasant.
People rather wait in line than going to next door...that tells something this hk cafe is so popular, that we waited 30mins to get a table. later I found out that you can download the yelp app to wait in line virtually Speaking from experience, it is the best milk tea i have ever had in Canada.
Curry rice is very good. Hai nan chicken is a bit overrated , just all right .
I had the fried chickenn with avocado pineapple bun sandwich with a rich and tasty hot HK style milk tea. It was a massive tower, all for only $11! For this day and age, thats an amazing deal! The food tasted great and everything came out fresh and quickly. The staff was attentive to our needs too! Ive been in the Markham area for over 10 years and I just found out about this place. Im definitely going back to try the rest of the menu!
We are regular customers of your restaurant and have always enjoyed your food and service. However, our recent dining experience left us very disappointed and dissatisfied. During our last visit, my child found a hair in the iced lemon tea. After confirming this, my husband immediately called a server and informed her of the situation. The server took away the iced lemon tea, but no one came to apologize. Even more unacceptable was that when we inquired about it, the server, with a displeased expression, handed over half a cup of new lemon tea and rudely said, You only found the hair after drinking half of it, right? Feeling extremely angry and uncomfortable, we then went to the front desk to inquire further, only to be told that they did not see any hair. This response made us feel very helpless and regret not taking a photo as evidence. We are very disappointed by this experience. Such an attitude not only made us feel disgusted and disrespected but also completely diminished our positive impression of your restaurant.I wish I could give 0 star
this place is so neat and the food is amazing and clean. Customer service always excellent. the space is not big though, but cozy enough for a short visit. Wish they had more locations :)
Delicious food! The service was so quick its amazing! The food comes out quickly. Portion size is big!!
My go to spot for HK style food. When Im up in Markham for any reason, it a must drop by. Always so busy, waiting list is unreal! But totally worth it for the price. Highly recommended!
Everything in total I got cost less than $100! Amazing portions, super tasty food and very fast service. Would highly recommend!
Waited and lined up a table on Google, it is so good. Foods are good and nice. Dont have any surprised.
It could be longer wait during weekend, I recommend going in early and getting your number in.
The staff is very efficient and it is recommended to wait for a table in advance. There is a long queue for lunch on weekends. This store is popular because it is cheap and delicious, and the taste is very authentic. Especially the Hainanese chicken rice, great!
Great service, amazing HO cafe style food. Really a hidden gem. Prepare for a wait.... Its worth it! Food
I accidentally saw this when I was walking by. The people at the door said that there was a long queue, so I just gave it a try and waited for about 25 minutes. During the afternoon tea time, I saw the satay beef, which is the favorite of Hong Kong people. I saw a truffle egg toast, so I ordered this set meal. In fact, it s not expensive at CAD9, so it s not expensive at all! Okay, the food has arrived. . Let s talk about truffle egg toast first. The eggs are not actually called smooth eggs I don t even know how to make scrambled eggs. . It is nothing more than an undercooked egg. . The bottom of the egg is too old...the raw egg juice on the top of the egg is only not a slippery egg. . Those of you who have eaten at Hong Kong s China Star Ice Room will know what I m talking about! In addition, if the toast is wet and dried, it can be rolled up. . . Isnt that what you call toast? Let s talk about satay beef rice noodles. . The satay has no juice at all and no satay taste at all. There is a little bit of satay spices, but it is not sata. The beef is on the hard side and there is no satay taste in the soup. . Just a big bag of rice noodles They cant even do the two things that Hong Kong is most famous for, so how can they put themselves in front of Hong Kong? Zhong said that there were so many people queuing up It was really disappointing! This time I saw that his conscience should be related to pornographic shops, so I should support them, but I hope they themselves will not be obsessed with yellow shops! There is no need to deal with the quality of the food, every statement above comes from conscience! Hope it improves in the future Eat something else after a year. . . In fact, I found that other dishes are not bad, but the most important thing is the food such as satay squid and fish eggs, hometown fried rice, Hainanese chicken rice and fried siomai with rice rolls are all delicious The baked pork chop rice is a bit overshadowed. , I have begun to change my opinion of him. I hope to have his regular meal of truffle egg toast, satay, beef and rice next time. I hope there will be a surprise!
Pros: waitlist option, pineapple bun/fried chicken portion was huge and delicious (honestly feeds 3 people), and good milk tea & red bean drink Cons: attitude from waitresses but cashier was courteous Food
This place was talked up by my in-laws, who selected a bunch of classic HK cafe dishes to give me a crash course in the cuisine. And what a debut - the milk tea is indescribably rich and dense, with enough punch to soften you up for the delightful dishes to come. The silky Hainan chicken and the complex curry were my favourites, but there were no weak dishes. If this is a proper Hong Kong style cafe, I m hoping that it catches on outside the GTA in a big way!
Good food, but always so busy, so crowded. Parking: Hard to find a close by parking. Food : 4/5 |
Very good food. Very friendly waitresses.
The food is in good quality. The price is reasonable.
Takeout - chicken sandwich size is huge so glad I found value in the suburb. Easily prefer HK style over other casual options for efficiency and flavour.
Lots of people. I prefer booking online because it is very busy. They have yummy food in cheap prices.
Very clean for a HK style cafe. The salted egg yolk with the fried chicken was done quite well, crispy exterior and still moist inside. Our noodle dish was also quite good, the ginger-onion sauce was flavourful. We came at a good time (after 2:30), but definitely expect a wait during the lunch rush.
If you see a lot of people, you have to wait for more than an hour I saw it opened at 10:00, so I went there at 9:45 and waited for it to open. At first, everyone was waiting in the car. At about 9:50, at the start gate, everyone got out of the car and blew the air exhaust. At first serve, our two brothers didn t know why and seemed so unhappy, but before they left, the two pretty girls were nice and talkative. Finally, Zhang Rixiang promised to send him as soon as he left. The four of us ordered the B C D meal, ice-fired pineapple oil and fried siomai rice rolls. Since there was no Hainanese chicken rice when we opened the door, we ordered takeout. Bottle milk tea, Hua Tian Crisp, milk tea and red bean ice are all OK, but the hot milk tea has a lighter taste, and we are used to drinking it hot. Of course the taste is slightly different from Hong Kong Zhong But Hong Kong food in Toronto is not bad For us in the United States where there is no Hong Kong food, these are delicious. Thank you two beautiful ladies. I will help you next time I am in Toronto.
Authentic Hong Kong breakfast place. Make sure to queue in the wait-list
Milk tea is very rich
Not bad
The food is very good, classic HK style Cafe, the menu is decent and the food arrives pretty quick. Seating is limited so I suggest joining a wait list or going early.
Truffle Pineapple bun is a well thought out combination of flavours. Pork rice and and Hainan Chicken were good too
NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL!!! First, this restaurant is clearly letting regular customers cut the line, which is what I saw. Secondly I dont think they care about randomly walk in customers, theyre more interested in serving regular customers. When I sat down, they didnt inform me that their main dish was only have 1 left. Instead, they told their regular customers who is dine in later then me in Cantonese, We only have our last serving of Hainanese chicken rice. I asked them immediately May I please ordering it? But waiters didnt reply me and place the order for their regular customers. Im totally unhappy for this kind of behavior and felt unfair. I didnt left any tips and left my comment, I wonder if the restaurant will care. Finally, only average taste Its not worth spending so much time in line.
Affordable and delicious. But the lady at the door was really mean. I am a regular and I am very disappointed at this I know it gets busy here but no one deserves bad attitude like this.
The taste is impeccable, the service is great, and the prices are very affordable. The only drawback is that the store is a bit small, you have to queue for a long time every time, and the closing time is too early at night.
Food is great !
The hostess who assigned the table talked down to me, she got upset saying that I dont know how to use the wait-list. Very degrading!
We went there for brunch, There were 8 waiters in such a small restaurant. The waiters were all very friendly and welcoming. Service was also very efficient. We ordered the Hong Kong style satay beef noodles, truffle eggs, Hananese chicken rice. The food were decent with large portions. Only downside might be the tight seating. Overall, it was a great experience and we will go back again.
Foie gras Black Truffle Scrambled Egg Pineapple Bun Right!
Very bad experience. The only advantage is that the price is relatively cheap, but the taste is unsatisfactory. The place is small and the service is terrible. I will definitely not go there again.
The Chicken rice is the best! Their drinks are very good as well, reasonably priced lunch spot
Came here a several times already. Food was great, like their milk tea and HK style pineapple bun. BBQ pork and egg rice was pretty tasty.
This is some of the best Hong Kong-style food I ve had outside of that city. This place is very cozy and quite small. But the staff somehow make you feel welcome and eat without a hassle while also creating a fast enough throughput that you don t have to wait in queue too long. The food is also very reasonably priced and super quickly prepared, at no expense to its quality. If you are in the area - this is a must try!
very good
The pineapple bun was truly perfect; the crispy topping, in terms of color, shape, and texture, easily takes the top spot. The beef in the satay beef noodles was good, while the fried chicken was a bit disappointing the outer layer was too thick and hard, but the chicken inside was flavorful and tender. They offer a wide variety of beverages to choose from.
There is a waitlist system to get a table here, you will have to physically be there in person within 5 min of your number being called or else you will lose the table. The service was good and food was fine, but nothing too special. Overall, I wouldnt return if I had to wait for table for more than 10 min.
Came here on a Saturday and the line was crazy. Very decent Hong Kong style cha-chaang-teng food. Excellent HK style milk tea. Pork chop with rice in tomato sauce and cheese, the pork was just a bit dry. All in all, its not a bad place to visit. Pro tip: join the line from their website before you arrive.
food is acceptable and the price is fair, but need to queue for at lease haif an hour.
Very Bad Experience We called it then tell us just five minutes however when we arrived there saids we need to waitlist before and No one tell us should be registered before! Then we have wait for so many tables even the people come after that!
Great food and fair service.
I had a fantastic experience at this Hong Kong style restaurant! Despite its small size, the place is incredibly clean and tidy. The friendly waitstaff made me feel welcome, and the prices were very affordable. I ordered two main dishes and two cold drinks, and it only cost me $33 - quite a bargain! The restaurant is always bustling, with a long waiting queue. However, you can join the waiting list in advance, saving you from waiting in line. The highlight for me was the ice Hong Kong milk tea with traditional Ding Ding candy. It was both tasty and creamy, and the candy slowly melting in the tea added a unique twist. The food was served quickly and was delicious. Im definitely planning to return for a second visit. If youre looking for a place to enjoy a quick and affordable meal with a taste of authentic Hong Kong flavors, this is the place to be!
Cafe De Hong Kong is a haven for those seeking a taste of traditional Hong Kong afternoon tea and light meals. Despite a longer-than-expected wait time, the experience is well worth it for the affordable yet delicious offerings and satisfactory service. While the wait may test your patience, the moment you sink your teeth into their flavorful dishes, youll find that its all worthwhile. The menu boasts a delightful selection of classic Hong Kong snacks and tea-time treats, each dish prepared with care and authenticity. What truly impresses is the affordability of the food. Despite the high quality and authentic flavors, the prices remain reasonable, making it accessible to all without sacrificing taste or portion size. Though the service may not be exceptional, its adequate enough to ensure a pleasant dining experience. The staff are friendly and accommodating, though they may be stretched thin during peak hours. Overall, authentic HK snacks & tea at reasonable prices. Service may be stretched, but worth it for the flavors!
High cost performance
Nice staff and good food! Highly recommend the Hainanese Chicken rice They use boneless chicken thigh great portion and only cost $12.95!
Prices are very reasonable but the food quality is also reflected in the price.
The first time I went there, I was very disappointed. The curry cheese baked pork chop rice was too salty! Very bad!
Nice place, servicers are attentive, good food, and reasonable prices. It is a bit busy, prepare to wait for 10-15 minutes for seating. Overall, good experience; will visit again.
Wait times are super long especially during breakfast and lunch times. Definitely try to get here before they open if you re trying to get breakfast.
Food were decent but no surprise honestly. The reason that I am giving a one star experience is totally their server faults. I tried to ask for is there a 10% discount off by cash. (Which is provided for many chinese restaurants) I was fine even no such thing. The two men in cashier position just laughed off impolitely. I was disgusted by their rude attitude and they surely didn t deserve tipping at all. I am disappointed they would bring the toxic culture to here.
The food presentation looks so good and tasty too. Unfortunately, my mouth felt so bad as well as stomach because of way too much of MSG. and
Hainanese chicken is so good! Made with chicken thigh~
Very good service + very good food
First time visit this busy restaurant, long wait time for almost an hour. Food quality is average, noodle is too soaky, light taste on stay beef, Hainan chicken rice not authenticated style. Milk tea taste good. Price average. Not worth the waiting time
We went for the CBC Metro Morning remote adventure to Markham. The Cafe is very small, the milk tea was good. We didnt have any food
Good Hong Kong atmosphere with unexpectedly good service! Food portions are pretty small but taste great!! Milk tea is very good!
Amazing drink, yummy food but not too many seat usually need to wait quite a bit.
Came as a party of 6 on a Sunday for lunch. I had heard from a friend this place always has lineups so added myself to the online waitlist. Got the text indicating the table was ready at 12:29pm but when we checked in with staff tables werent actually ready for all 5 parties they sent texts to; my group waited another half hour before we got to sit. Got the salted egg yolk fried corn (sweet & savory), salted egg yolk French toast w pork floss (tastes like a donut!) and fried chicken avo burger (crisp skin and juicy chicken, not a lot of avo though). Overall really liked all 3. My party also got the Hainanese chicken rice and baked pork chop rice w cheese from the top 10 recommended; theyre a good price and size, but taste was just ok. Overall would recommend, just be prepared to wait and sit cozy bc the space is not large.
Excellent chicken burger the milk drink is ok but for the price absolutely no complaints
tasty cheap price You can also queue online
Food is very average. Price is reasonable. Good to try but it doesnt worth for the long wait time.
