Great milk tea with full flavour and orange peel. But can’t say same of the Fish fillets with spaghetti on cream sauce ($17.00). It was totally tasteless like eating raw spaghetti without the sauce. The chef should quit his profession or take a refresher cooking program. I can cook tastier meals anytime at home. Though the restaurant is quite busy, I think it is because there are more Chinese and fewer restaurants in that area. Good luck to them.
Fast service and solid HK cafe food. This place specializes in egg dishes and definitely did not disappoint. We got the satay beef egg on pineapple bun and the truffle egg toast. Flavors were excellent, eggs were soft and silky, and drinks had the classic standard HK flavors one would expect. It was a nice stop after a walk in the nearby parks.
Cha Kee is modern, clean and I was impressed with the number of staff working here. I was greeted right away by a friendly staff and got seated. As I examined the menu, I noticed they don't offer the typical "Cha Chan Tang" afternoon tea special, instead they offer many "Daily Special" and "All-Day Menu". Nevertheless, the pricing is reasonable, it's competitive from other Cha Chan Tang in the nearby area. I ordered a grilled pork chop soup noodles, ideally, I prefer "Ho Fun" but they don't offer that, as they offer rice noodles, spaghetti or macaroni. I chose spaghetti. The meal was $10.99 CDN + tax and including a hot or cold beverage. Interestingly, cold beverage is no extra charge, which many other places asked for extra $1.50 for cold beverage and no extra cost for hot beverage. I opted for a cold iced lemon tea. Within 2 seconds, they already handed me the lemon tea, which was the only slight drawback. Normally, other places would take their time to brew the tea and then prepare the lemon tea. Clearly this place has pre-prepared a bunch of iced lemon tea so whoever ordered, they just hand it to the customers, which I prefer not being handed to me so quickly as I am not in a rush. Other than that, the iced lemon tea was served in a big plastic cup and it's flavourful. Then, my grilled pork chop soup noodles arrived. Kudos to the Cha Kee for serving the grilled pork chop on a separate plate from the soup noodles so that the pork chops aren't being soggy flowing on the broth. Many places don't care and just serve it in one bowl to save washing an extra plate but pork chop being served on a separate avoid the meat from being soggy in the broth. They also asked if I want the pork chop to be wholesome or prefer to be cut into strips to be easier to be indulged which is very attentive. Thank you Cha Kee! The broth has a good flavour and I appreciate the sprinkle of green onions. I do, however wish Cha Kee offers fried pork chop or pork cutlet as I prefer more crispy meat than just grill. Thus, I do wish they offer various cooking style of the pork chop. Overall, I like how clean and modern this restaurant is. The friendly staff and they offer 10% off if pay by cash. Moreover, I enjoy the food menu design, it's cute and I like the font, it's very inviting to look over the entirety of the food offerings. I would definitely come back!
went sunday @approx 1:30pm and needed to wait approx 10m to get a table for 3. The baked porkchop rice was excellent. The porkchop was freshly fried however the sauce was a bit TOO ketchupy which some people may not prefer. The baked Portuguese chicken rice was just ok though - left much to be desired. The pricing is a bit upscale for hong kong cafe for sides but the mains are fairly priced. could not justify getting the french toast for $12. each main does come with a drink though.
Food is not bad. The milk tea very good. Maybe a bit on the pricey side for what it is and what you get. Hong Kong breakfast usually comes with protein of choice (bacon, ham, etc) but they do not have that with the meal. The staff is friendly and attentive. Inside is very clean.
The food here is great! The HK-Style French Toast was super good and crispy, as well as the Tomato Soup Vermicelli with Pork chop, Saute Beef with Silky Egg over Instant Noodle and other dishes! Their drinks - Lemon Tea, HK Style Milk Tea, and other drinks were really good as well. Would recommend stopping by for HK brunch-style cuisine!
The servers here were soooo nice and really went the extra mile for families with young children! The food was delicious and well seasoned, though personally I needed more sugar for my iced lemon tea. The combos and drinks were good value and there was no extra charge for iced drinks. My only feedback is that the scrambled eggs could be fluffier but that's a personal preference. 10/10 would recommend going otherwise and recommend the chicken wings and HK french toast with peanut butter.
Visited again on Mother's Day for our breakfast and lunch time, as they're opening late at 10:30 am on the weekend. *Satay beef with scrabble eggs on instant noodles *Preserved vegetables and pork vermicelli in soup with sunny side eggs & toast *Satay beef vermicelli in soup with scrabble eggs & toast Menu prices are not cheap, but hardly to find seats available... I've been here a couple of times, always full house all the time, so if you're patient enough and kindness, you can wait, her fair price, and good portion of food quantity and services. In fact, this restaurant is always opening late in the morning, so this restaurant is not my best choice of enjoying my early breakfast.
I have always liked Chicha Kees fried chicken wings. I bought some fried chicken wings for takeout today. When I got home, I found that the fried chicken wings were missing. I called the store and reported that they were really nice. They were really nice. I told them to give it to me. We made it up and ended up making up a whole portion. Thank you very much
Food is really great, as well as the service is superb. Price is reasonable, portion is large. We always get 3 orders of food for 4 people. By far the best Hong Kong Style restaurant in Toronto. Definitely a 5-star plus!!
Hong Kong tea-style restaurants are famous for their large variety of food. Wonder how can they do it.
We regret every dollar that we spent here. We ordered Portuguese chicken and it s very disappointing - the chicken is not seared (just boiled ) and it is completely tasteless. The portion for the stir fried udon noodle is very small - definitely over priced.
The hash brown is stale and the food is lacking flavour. For the price they charged I would rather go somewhere else

I placed a take away order by phone. I emphasized and repeated twice No sugar for the tea. It ended up the tea has sugar in it for a diabetic. Conversely, I asked for less syrup in the iced tea, but no syrup at all. Regrettably disappointed.

Food was ok as per usual HK style cha restaurant! However, I felt no comfortable on what they made on the payment return, they usually gave you back the change return with a damaged note and dirty coins!

Come here often for takeout. No extra $$ for cold drink in combo. Food is good and decent portion. Low carb substitution available. Dietary restrictions: You can ask for no carb substitution. I got veggies instead of toast and hash brown.

Not sure why this place is so popular. We went to the markham location, got my waitlist number at 12:16 and ordered food at 1 pm so I was super hungry expecting standard hk style fare. But I was pretty disappointed. We ordered Portuguese chicken spaghetti, satay beef vermicelli, a club sandwich and chu hou beef brisket vermicelli. Paired it with 2 hot hk style milk tea and 2 cold lemon tea. The only thing really good was the satay beef vermicelli and the rest were passable (club sandwich) and not great (chu hou beef and Portuguese chicken). 3 stars because at least the milk tea is authentic. Theres so many places in the area that are better, so we are writing this place off. Big Trio has the better beef brisket, Matsuya has the better Portuguese chicken, even Delight has a great satay beef and milk tea combo. Dont want to share the other places so everyone can keep waiting here. And if youre tired of waiting just go to Pho Metro for zero disappointment. Our meal for 4 ended up being $56 plus tax.

classic hk style cafe
Hard to find a server in this restaurant. Cups and bowls are dirty. Client would never know the last order time. When we want to re order, they said kitchen order has cut off. It was about 7.30pm. They never ask the client if they would like to add something. This so-called Hong Kong style restaurant was disappointing the client. We walked in at around 7pm and heard the conversation between the cashier and client saying that having 10% off if paying the bill by cash. When we getting the bill, we asked if 10% off by paying cash. The server said the discount only apply at 3-6pm. We were disappointed and confused. I think we will never come back and I will not refer this restaurant to my friends and family.

Have been going to both Cha Kee locations (Richmond Hill and Markham) since day one. Jack and the team have consistently been serving great taste and quality HK comfort food over the years. Recommend anyone to dine here!
Avoid this place. I ordered three meals for family but we all got really disappointed. The food looks like for dogs and it tastes extremely awful. The black pepper sauce is diluted too much. The chicken is not completely cooked. The curry is missing for the curry fishball. What happened to the stupid cook? How does the 4-star rating come? Did those reviewers all lose sense of taste?
Read about their 45 minute time limit, but if its not too busy, the aunties let you stay :) Fast (like, McDonalds fast) service. Milk tea was okay. Had their pineapple bun, egg and pork. Bun was phenomenal. Nice spot for a quick meal/snack.
im a big fan we went on Thursday night and it wasnt busy at all. service was kind and very fast to receive our food. the portion size for the breakfast meals are great for the price, my friend got a bowl and the portion was not filling enough.

2022 December 3.5 A good option for some quick Hong Kong style food. Food came quick once ordered. Less than 10 minutes despite being busy. Food is overall very good. Preserved Veg. & Shredded Pork Soup in Vermicelli + Toast + Fried Eggs $11.99 Pretty typical meal, came quick and was good. Curry Beef $13.99 The curry was a typical HK style curry. A good consistent texture, not to watery and not too thick. Chicken Steak in Black Pepper Sauce with Spaghetti $13.49 The chicken was nice and crispy. Couldve had just a little more sauce. Chu Hou Beef Brisket Soup W/ Udon $13.99 This was OK. A good option for kids. Crispy Chicken Wings (8pc) $13.99 Nice and crispy, but was a little bland. Couldve been seasoned or brined longer. Well priced and meals came with options for Milk Tea Or Lemon Tea If your looking for a quick meal, this is a good option. Free ample parking in the plaza.

There is also a wait for a table at 3pm on Sunday, but the wait is not long. I ordered the fish fillet spaghetti with cheese and white sauce recommended by the restaurant, and hot coffee (same price for hot and cold). Coffee first, average. The white sauce of the fish fillet spaghetti is very white and lacks flavor. There should be no butter and other ingredients, but it is smooth enough. The time in the oven should not be long enough. The surface layer with cheese will not be baked enough and the cheese flavor will not be enough. If the pasta can be mixed with the white sauce first and then baked, and baked for a longer time, the effect will be better. The fish fillets are small and strip-shaped. They are fried first and then baked together, which is a good thing. Overall well seasoned. There is no wifi for customers in this hotel, and the signal reception is not good. I cannot browse the Internet in 3G mode. I can only sit there doing nothing and cannot make full use of my time. This place should mainly do business with regular customers from the neighborhood. To me, a stranger, there was no greeting and he was relatively cold. It costs nearly 17 yuan plus tax at checkout, which is slightly more expensive than ordinary tea restaurants. For this kind of service, a tip of 2 yuan is reasonable, but I didn t want to wait for 1 yuan to be returned, so I left 20 yuan and left.
Its a classic HK style breakfast joint. All of their entrees come with a drink and the best part is that the cold drinks do not cost extra. The baked Portuguese chicken rice was all right but in general the prices are reasonable and service is fast
Great Hong Kong style breakfast/lunch/appetizers. Staff is very polite. Clean and organized. They used good quality napkins - not the cheap ones! Highly recommended: - Fried Satay Beef with Spaghetti - Chicken Steak, Eggs, Tomato & Cheese Club Sandwich (it would be even better if they add lettuce to it) - Iced Coffee Tea Mix Updated: - Still the best in town. Great place and food are delicious
Ever since my go-to Hong Kong style cafe (Phoenix) raised their prices so much that it became uneconomical to eat there anymore, I have been in search of my next go-to and I have finally found it. Although Cha Kee is a bit out of the way, it is definitely worth the trip. Their prices are reasonable and their food is delicious. Everything they offer is what you would expect from a Hong Kong style cafe: serves quick, offers variety, and comes with coffee and tea. Bonus to them for also being one of the only HK style cafe that takes credit card.
Food is average though a bit too salty. The portion is a little below average but considering how much calories you would get from the dish, I think the size is just right, if not too big. Service is good, all staff are polite. The place is clean but crowded. Last time I went was a Saturday around 1 pm. A little bit of waiting time, not too bad. I am not sure why they put tables in the middle of the room for take out orders. Parking: Shared public parking lot in a plaza.
When you first walk in, you can see that they are trying very hard to make it an authentic Hong Kong experience. They have this metal mail boxes display when you walk in and they only play Cantonese and Taiwanese music! The hong kong milk tea was good but it was not hot so it got cold very quick. The coffee tea tasted mostly of coffee. Most of the dishes we ordered was very mild flavors which is typical for Hong Kong styled diner foods. The dishes are suitable for a kids palette. The baked rice dish with fried porkchop and red sauce was very mild, sweet, soggy and a bit crispy on the ends that didnt have sauce on it. I found my dish with the egg rice and fried pork chop scallion very bland. They give you a sauce to dip/pour which we think is Maggi sauce mixed with a bit of sugar. The egg is covering a giant mound of plain rice. Was a bit of a struggle to finish. Overall I would recommend this place to those seeking a simple meal.
As mentioned by others, the egg is very well done, their pan fry pork is amazing. The cream and tomato sauces is a bit too starchy for our preference, but their HK cafe stables are solid. Revisited few times, great for kids.
The bag is just average, but other food is good
Cha Kee really upped their game since inception. I remember their menu were limited and and food wasnt that good... until recently. Not only have they expanded their menu, but the presentation and quality of their dishes improved substantially. Service is exponentially better than the average HK café and the place is clean. Their staff are pleasant and courteous, definitely a cut above the regular staff from their competitors. Drinks are included on most of their menu, and cold drink could be requested at no extra cost! I highly recommend their Chicken leg with spaghetti! Go check this place out!

The food was really good and the portions were very good ! The flavours were very good also ! The iced tea was very good the lemons and sugar level were very well done ! The eggs and meat were cooked properly. The location is pretty convenient in the plaza. Make sure to go early because it will get crowded during breakfast and lunch time . There have reserving computer inside where you you put your name and number they will contact you when the table is ready . 9/10
Food is alright, but their takeout queue is very messy. I called to place an order and went to pick up the food after 20 mins. When I arrived I gave them my order number and phone number. They asked me to wait as the order wasn t ready. I waited another 15 mins or so before checking with them again, but they said they have no such order. I told them that can t be right so they went checking again. Turned out the order was already on the table all along and I was waiting for nothing.
Good place for dinner or lunch. Better setting comparing the Richmond Hill location. At least this location is bigger. Jacky is good too.

Food is pretty average. nothing was particularly good or bad. The portions and quality of the food did not match the pricetag. I would say they charge approximately $2-3 more than other restaurants without the food being any better. A baked pork chops rice is typically about $13 plus tax. But Cha Kee charges $16. The service was good and pretty fast. By far the best thing about this place is that cold drinks are not extra. The iced milk tea was good. I would be open to eating here again, but would most likely have better options in the area.
Hong Kong style cafe serving menu with simple to old school dishes. Been waiting for a long time to have a store like this in Markham. There is also no extra charge for cold drinks. I love all the breakfast and brunch dishes that I had tried in this restaurant. Fast speedy service. Prepare to wait during lunch time that is when all the kids are rushing to this place for lunch.
Got the chicken leg with rice. Can be hit or miss (theres only meat on one side of my chicken leg).
Beef egg rice bowl is good. Chicken steak is crispy but spaghetti tomato sauce is blend. Wait time is too long. Came again and the same delicious meal and friendly service.
The baked rice bolognese with cheese was decent while my friends satay beef macaroni in soup was satisfactory and my other friends fake shark fin soup was bland. The all day breakfast with chicken steak was tasty, although the size of the chicken steak was pretty small. The drinks were alright as well. The service was good and generally pretty attentive and the overall atmosphere was alright, although its in a plaza next to a high school so it can get pretty noisy.

Both the food and service are very good, especially the politeness of the servers, which is seldom seen in the GTA. The place is also popular for take out and have over 20 orders during our dine in. Definitely will come back again. Went there a second time three months later, and this time for lunch. Theres still a huge lineup, but we waited for 10 minutes before seated. The food served was still yummy, many varieties, and the service again good. This will become my favorite Hong Kong style restaurant.
Wait too long. Customer like to meeting instead of eating Food
Ive been wanting to try this place for a long time as I often see posts of their food on social media. But with all the hype, Im not entirely sure it was as good as it looks to be. The food was average. The space was really tight inside. Theres also not enough seating as they seem to have a lot of take out orders and that took a huge chunk of space out of the already small restaurant space.
If you like bo and you like lo, then you will love this bo lo bao. Lumba 1 fan see, because so fancy ma.
Food are in real Hongkong style instead of those fusions UK-HK food. But you should be attentions to spend times for waiting.

Great little Hong Kong Cafe in the Bur Oak neighborhood. The plaza has tons of parking but the restaurant can get busy. They have an electronic wait-list that you can sign up for so you dont have to wait in the smaller lobby area. There are thumbs up icons on the menu indicating the favs here. Their fried chicken leg with rice was a huge portion and I got to select which sauce I wanted on it. The Portuguese sauce was very flavourful - really tasty!
I went to this Cha Kee with my buddy yesterday. We ordered a pineapple bun with satay beef and egg, and milk tea. The egg was fluffy. The beef was tasty. The bun was fresh. The staff was very friendly even though our order was small. I have dined at Cha Kee several times in the past and will continue to be a patron. My buddy really liked their HK Milk Tea. A good place to dine.
The service was great. The special 12.99 pork cutlet was yummy and crispy but a bit thin. The place was busy with line up that mean the food is fresh.

The tea blend used for the milk tea is more bitter, so the resultant tea had a bit of bitterness taste to it. Having tasted many different blends of milk tea, only this cafe had this bitterness to it. Tasted a bit like actually. Satay beef noodle didnt have much satay taste. It was average, and not really HK style.
Encouraging Hong Kong style cafe located at the corner of Kennedy and Bur Oak in Markham. Mostly serving choice of meat and sauce with rice or spaghetti Hong Kong style cafe dishes. Their All Day vermicelli/noodle combos with scrambled eggs (your choice of eggs) and toasts are popular with patrons, too. We ordered 2 x All Day vermicelli specials. Eggs were done correctly, and the vermicelli soup base perhaps had more MSG than we expected. The spaghetti bolagnese was OK. I wish the sauce base had more basil/bay leave taste to it. The spaghetti was al dente, which was perfect. There was no upcharge for cold drinks, which is a bonus. Service was impeccable. Cutlery was provided once you placed the order and it arrived in its clean container. Decor was fine for HK style cafe, place was spotless clean, no background music which is good to have conversations. Parking: Plenty of parking spots available.
The food is pretty good! Their baked spaghetti with chicken steak in tomato sauce/cheese is amazing! The honey lemon tea is consistently great as well! However, I feel the dishes are more expensive compared to other Hong Kong restaurants!
Ordered the Portuguese Chicken Baked Rice and it was disappointing to say the least. The portion was decent, but the flavors and texture were all off. The sauce lacked any curry or coconut taste, chicken was just boiled without any seasoning, and rice was too soft. Food aside, the servers were great considering the kind of service you get at a HK style cafe.
The girl packing takeout doesnt know what she is doing. Keep telling customers to leave, while their food is just seating there. She doesnt go by order. My takeout was seating there for 15mins!! She started shouting at me for waiting!?!?;?

This is our go to place for HK Cafe style food. They have online ordering, which makes takeout super easy. The service in the restaurant is also quite good. Very quick. And of course quite delicious.

Great for Lunch
Impressive service, I dropped my take out outside the restaurant, instead they helped to clean the mess, they make me a new one.
Food is pretty good but the boss is very pushy, asking us to check out several times in our 30ish minutes stay. At the end, our drinks were taken away before we were finished, without asking at all.

Their milk tea is better than most HK cafes and the food overall was pretty good. The only thing is the AC was quite intense which made my sisters food turn cold moments after it was brought out.
Cha Kee is the next best CCT after New City in my opinion. Both are good but we live closer to New City. Cha Kee staff is overall nicer too hahaha, food is amazing, drinks are good, and dine-in seems great too. I ve only had takeout, but would recommend dine-in or takeout at Cha Kee. Important thing to note during regular dining times, it tends to get fairly busy as I always have to walk through people to pick up my order.
Delicious food & service.! If you go on the weekend, there is a little wait but they are very efficient and also have a 45-min seating limit so you won t have to wait for too long.
Portions a bit small, taste is sub par to keungs delight, but it is good for a quick bite considering there is not much HK style food nearby.
The egg noodles are average, the meat is not tasty, but the tea is delicious. Ill help you out for a cup of tea, but for other things!!
The service was good and staff were friendly, they made sure we were comfortable and taken care of. The food is good quality and the portions are fair! I would say the prices are average. There was a bit of a wait since the place isn t the biggest but that didn t really bother me. We joined the wait list as soon as we got there and waiting around 15 minutes. We had a baby carrier which they were accommodating about.

I ordered the pork chop spaghetti. The overall taste was quite good. The taste was a bit sweet and the pork chop was firm. However, the guy at the counter was so aggressive that he almost ate me.
It was exciting to finally get a chance to enjoy dine in at this location. It wasn t open when I last visited during the pandemic lockdown. This was a nice Hong Kong style cafe that served authentic and fusion Hong Kong cafe food. The food was tasty and the service was great. My overall experience was pleasant. Will definitely go there more often and try other items on their menu.
Must try their pan fry pork chop. Choose to be there late afternoon, no line up and service is great

Very good quality and tasty food. The restaurant appears clean and the staffs are all very polite. 10% discount weekdays between 330 to 6pm.

Good thing also changing the drink to a cold one doesnt cost extra! I recommend this restaurant if you are for hk style food. I go to this restaurant very often, but last week Sep 30 I was there. I saw a situation in the restaurant that really bothered me I would like to put a feedback here. There was this table with some high school kids finished and paid for their meal. They paid the bill, the lady said to them that they needed to pay tips The kids looked at each other and asked the lady how much did she want and left her $5. I dont think the lady should do this to the kids, this is just how I feel. thank you

Went there today for lunch with 2 friends and their 4 month old baby, and they were extremely rude to my friends for bringing in the stroller. Also, while I was waiting for my friends, the waiter told me there is a seating limit and that I need to order as soon as possible. If it s not for my friends, I wouldn t have stayed there. They did not have the basic courtesy towards their customers and I find it very disappointing. The food was alright but really overpriced. I will never come back again.

The poutine and cheese fries are delicious The grainy western toast is a bit average, crumbly and shapeless.
Probably not the best place for lunch or dinner unless you want rice or spaghetti base carbs. Youre better off with breakfast as thats mainly their specialty. We ordered a Portuguese sauce with rice and a tomato, egg and beef spaghetti. The latters meat was over tenderize that you didnt have the normal meat texture. Note: expect to pay 30+ for a meal that could easily be cooked at home.

Probably the best Hong Kong style restaurant in Markham. The most tasty street style food . The best part is drinks are always included wether hot or cold.
We called ahead to ask if it was busy. And we were told that the there was no one waiting. After arriving 5 minutes, the restaurant was filled with 5 families ahead. Then when my pregnant wife tried to explain this to the staff, she was met with aggressiveness and hostility. Such a shame as I enjoyed the food here.
