Best Wonton Noodle Soup in Toronto
A small no-frill Wonton Noodle place, limited menu of noodles in soup & lo-mein only, with a few selection of toppings, authentic Cantonese dumplings, shrimp wonton, fish balls and braised beef brisket, very tasty broth, beef brisket very soft & succulent, service was a bit slow, popular with take-outs.
I've driven by this restaurant many times but had never tried until this weekend. We went after 1:30pm on a Saturday and it wasn't too busy. Got seated right away. We ordered via QR code on the table, and the food came quickly. We got the wonton noodle soup with egg noodles, beef brisket rice noodle soup, and hot milk tea. Wonton noodle soup - 3/5 - nothing special - they were a little on the salty side for my taste, and noodles weren't as flavourful as some others I've had but the texture was good. Beef brisket noodles - 4.5/5 - the brisket was very good. Tender and flavourful, and not too fatty. It needs a little more broth for the noodles. Milk tea - 4/5 - hot, strong, and tasty. No complaints
A great place for a quick dining! A small, clean and bright restaurant in a huge plaza. Plenty of parking from restaurant. Attentive staff…didn’t take long for our orders to arrive at our table. Leaving the restaurant satisfied. Definitely a return customer.
Got the classic wonton noodle dish. I found the broth to be very classic of wonton soup broth. Clean and simple. The shrimp wonton were a generous sizing. Service was quick and very attentive.
Another good place for a quick meal. This is a Cantonese noodle place, menu is simple, and services are quick. Entrance looks small and hidden from outside, but inside is bigger and deep. Shrimp wonton soup is delicious and fresh.
10/10 staff are so nice, noodles with clear tasty broth and chewy texture. Beef is tender. My love for Iced Lemon Tea ( dong ling cha凍檸茶), I got 1 to drink on site and 1 to go.
Very good wonton noodles and also the lo mein. Flavors are all there in terms of the soup and the brisket. The wontons are a great size. More shrimp than pork. Overall, a nice go to place for wontons noodle soup.
Wonton Hut Noodle Bar in Markham, Ontario is a small restaurant. Waitstaff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We had the wonton with noodle and topped with stewed beef brisket and hand-sliced tender beef pieces. The noodle was cooked perfectly with a slight chewy texture. Big wontons with big chunks of shrimps inside. Stewed beef briskets had the right balance of meat and fat ratio and very tender. Beef slices were tasty. The broth was richer than we expected. We would definitely come back when we are in the area.
Do one thing for life and do it right kind of restaurant. Great authentic HK food!
The Wonton soup is excellent.
I often eat here. The frozen lemon tea is very special. It has the taste of sour plum soup and is very delicious. The fried bean paste noodles are very good and the noodles are very chewy.
Amazing food, soy bean drink is delicious and wontons are not big, unlike other restaurants.
I saw aunties making wontons at noon. Feels at home even for a northerner. I had shrimp wonton + beef slices, yummy to embrace the autumn season. Uncle at cashier is very polite and saw lots of HK celebrities photos near entrance.
Finally found a restaurant that tastes like Hong Kong wonton noodles, and even the kids were right about it
The food was nothing short of amazing each dish was prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients, The portion sizes were generous without being overwhelming, We ll definitely be returning , and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quick and warm meal.
Food was good, got the beef brisket with egg noodle. Found the broth a bit too beefy and thick but the brisket was perfect. It had almost no fat and the non meat bits (cant remember the name) was very tender, not chewy. Service was slower than expected, especially considering there were five people in the kitchen area. They also take credit cards.
A must try place if you want authentic wonton noodles from canton/HK. The noodles were cooked to perfection and the texture is so good. The wonton has a lot of shrimp and its big and juicy. The service is very good and everyone is so respectful and nice. The portion is ok but I was hungry after 3 hours. Took out 1 star for the price. While this price is fair in canada, wonton noodle is supposed to be very economical in china.
I found this place is not too friendly to mandarin speaking people. I was there today and it wasn t busy at all. When I asked the waitress to refill the tea, both of them keep telling me to wait. I asked again, they asked me to wait again and went to help other Cantonese speaking customer. I waited for over 10 minutes and decided to pay the bill instead. If you are only willing to serve the Cantonese people, please let us know so we won t come back again.
The boss force u to pay tips and blame us loudly in the restaurant that we didnt pay tips. why is it a must to pay tips? theres not much service at all. rude service i received. never come back again.
Force us tp pay tips with no good service
Good wonton.
Have been going to this place for years. Staff is friendly and helpful, and their food is tasty.
They had such good shrip wanton soup . And we didnt have correct payment methods and they helped us. The soup was SO GOOD and had so much shrimp.
Good taste and maintain the standard.
My favorite wonton house. Worth going from downtown just to have their wonton noodle soup.
food is the best Kid-friendliness: nice service Food : 4/5 |
The wonton noodles and fish balls are really good, and the service is always attentive. The owner seems sincere.
Food was pretty much what you would expect. No complaints about the service, decor, or pricing. The only thing holding them back is their chili oil. Its neither spicy or fragrant, and it makes the whole experience a bit lacking. Overall, not a bad place to eat.
They have friendly people working here, special request and tons of questions didn t seemed to brother them. The wonton and noodles are first class, much better than those from the States, my only disappointment where the beef and beef stews, pieces were too big, lean and wasn t tender enough.
This place become our familys favorite place for Won Ton noodle.
TL;DR - Must try for wonton noodle lovers! One of the best in the city. Finally tried a few weeks ago. Needed a quick take out dinner and not too heavy a meal, thought wonton noodles would be perfect and was in the area. Tried their wonton noodles, dumplings, and fish skin! All three were fantastic. Wontons were a good size, had both shrimp and a bit of ground pork paste. Dumplings were equally delicious. The wrappers were thin and so smooth. The noodles itself were cooked perfect - al dente texture and not soggy. Fish skin was fresh, extremely crispy. If I were to be super picky, the soup/broth itself didnt quite stand out, but better than most. Chili oil could have been stronger too but decent. Ordered everything online and had no issues. Wish wonton places were open later! Or reopen for midnight snack, would go a lot more often!
One of the best noodle soup. The people are just great. Am becoming a regular here
I finally had the opportunity to try this noodle hut and I was not disappointed. The food was delicious and arrived quickly. The staff were welcoming and seated us quickly. The serving size was generous, the wontons and dumplings were tasty and large. All agreed this would be worth a second visit.
My dish I ordered was good my daughter ordered rice noodles that were too soggy so she didn t finish her meal. Service was good. The place is very small and intimate.
Quaint little wonton restaurant. Quality very close to the one on Queen st. The wonton noodles are cooked beautifully with a bite to them. The braised beef is so tender it melted in your mouth. I like the broth from the Queen location slightly better because there seemed to be a bit of spice to it. But overall both taste amazing. Only downside to this location is that it doesnt offer the appetizers that the Queen location does. Curry fish balls, fried wontons etc... The spot is a bit small too so it might be hard to find seating during busy hours but if you can get a seat its worth it! Thanks
Was craving soup so thought I d check this place out for lunch. Ordered the Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup. Great portion and taste was great. Wasn t too fond of the noodles. They seemed a little undercooked. It was somewhat chewy. All in all great place if you like wonton soups. Definitely would visit again.
I luv Wonton Hut, my go-to place for my wonton cravings. The STAR to me is its egg noodles, perfect balance of the thinness, bouncy, chewy and its just song. I also like my 2 favourite toppings of its Chinese traditional dumplings and beef brisket. The beef brisket has good marinated sauce with meat and ratio of fat and tendon. The dumplings are in good size with nice woodear fungus and shrimps, just like the texture. More importantly, the broth is clean, clear and lightly flavourful that wouldnt overpower the star of the noods. Little things such as green chives, green onions, the pantry of red vinegar, pepper, chilli oil and soy sauce at the table is greatly appreciated. The vibe is dai pai dong and luv the Hong Kong Star Celebrities Wall of Fame that owner posed with the celebs whenever they visit Toronto for a concert/show, it brought back memories and nostaglic. One of my favourite wonton restaurants in Toronto.
Very friendly and kind staff! Good portions and the wontons were fresh, full of big shrimp, and you leave satisfied!
Family run restaurant with incredibly friendly staff. My beef brisket noodle was flavourful and tender. The wontons were juicy and packed with shrimp!
Been there first time. The food there very impressive.
The best shrimp wonton soup weve had from Florida, Montreal to Toronto.
My son andI just tried the food here and it is outstanding. The shrimp wontons are incredible. Make sure you try the veggies with oyster sauce. Its one of my favourites.
Staff members are super friendly. Love the Wonton noodles here.
High quality Hong Kong style wonton/dumpling noodle spot in the heart of Markham. Busy takeout and dine in wonton noodle restaurant. Food took longer to serve than expected for a short menu. Ordered the Dumplings Lo Mein. It comes with egg noodles, some Yu Choy, oyster sauce and soup on the side. It all tasted great for $13 plus tax. Pro tip I recommend the Lo Mein over just regular noodles. You get Yu Choy, oyster sauce and soup on the side so you get better value for your money. This also allows the egg noodle keeps its al dante texture. Vegetarian options: You can order boiled Yu Choy. Instead of egg noodles, you can get vermicelli or flat rice noodles. But they do not offer any vegetarian toppings. Parking: Busy parking lot shared with other on site restaurants. Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair friendly as there are no electronic sensor entry/exit doors.
Affordable, efficient service, tasty food, and friendly staff.
Solid bowl of wonton noodles. Noodles have a great texture. Wontons also taste great. Tight little restaurant but it was very quick for lunch and tasty.
Wonton noodles: The noodles are refreshing, the wontons have lots of shrimp meat, and the soup is sweet!
Busy place and there was a wait. It was well worth it. The wontons were huge! Very tasty and the wonton noodles were just right. The portion wasn t too big, great for a quick lunch or snack. The dace fish balls were perfect, especially with their chili oil. Would love to try other items when in town again.
Great noodle for Toronto standard. Just slightly below best of HK. Good portion. Taste right. Great alternative of going HK for wonton noodles.
Very good typical HK style wonton noodles.
Lovely little traditional Chinese noodle shop offering hand made wontons, fish dace, fried fish skin, dumplings and more! You can mix and match the number of ingredients you want to see with your noodles. The price has increased from years previous but the quality stands. The tables are small and simple, they have a fish tank for kiddos to marvel at. The day I went there was only two servers making it a bit slow, but nonetheless they were trying their best and very friendly. They could speak both Cantonese and Mandarin. They also have a take out menu for some of their handmade items (the fish dace, wontons, dumplings, chilli oil and fish skin).
Excellent bowl of noodles. I havent been here in a while. But will definitely be back soon.
Late Dec 2022 Xmas holiday lunch time. Many people at the door and inside waiting for tables and seats in the not big dining hall. No online reservation practice yet. Return next time in the off hours to try out their takes Have a Whopper meal eat-in instead, my favourite too. Two days after, have the wonton noodle soup. Whole shrimp with gut intact but fresh and tasty, no pepper contrasting with the long time ago Jim Jai Kee heavy salty dose while wonderfully delicious at the expense of thirst later. Noodle and soup are fine. Do not empty the salty tasty soup. $10+tax+tip. Busy with Cantonese and Mandarin people, family, kids, and grand pa and ma. The operating gentlemen and ladies are courteous and helpful. The attentiveness is appreciated.
15 minute wait time even at 3pm! That s how you know this place is good.
the best shrimp wonton in the town!
Fast service and good food but I was expecting a bit bigger of a bowl
Great Customer Service and Original HK style Wontons Soup, it is soooo juicy and freshly! Definitely back to enjoy it every week! Highly Recommended!
Awesome Wonton soup here. So delicious
Great economical delicious Wonton that makes me feel like home. The environment is simple but clean, the food is very fresh and the order is fast. Parking: The store is located at a very busy plaza with free parking spot. Sometimes the parking spot is hard to find, but most of the time its okay.
tasty
shui gau dumpling 5/5 wonton duimpling 5/5 noodle 5/5 cuttlefish ball 0/5 service 4/5
Their wontons are delicious, the entire thing is packed with shrimps. Beef briskets are decent as well. Friendly staff, fast service, would recommend!
Nice dumplings and wonton. Quick service. It is very busy so prepare to wait if sitting down. Reasonable prices.
I went to this place a couple os week ago. I usually don t like these wonton places as I found most of the uses too much msg and salty because I am very sensitive to msg. I can t sleep at night after eating food with too much msg. To my surprise, their wonton noodles taste good, and I had no sleeping problem that evening. Price is reasonable.
Amazing
The food is good; the owner has to stop tip shaming their regular customers... Raise your prices if you need to. Food : 4/5
We ordered wonton noodle soup and beef brisket noodle soup. Taste was quite good but we felt very thirsty after eating. Possible use of MSG in the preparation of either one or both.
Clearly you should not get beef brisket here as the restaurant is named Wonton Hut. I made the mistake of ordering beef brisket and only got 10% edible beef and 90% laced with fat and tendon. Not a very good meat to fat/tendon ratio, needless to say I was left with only a bowl of noodles.
Not the wonton noodles that I expect. A bit disappointed. The lemon ice tea was served in a look like hot coffee togo cup without ice cube/lemon
Great spot for wonton noodle cravings.
Love the noodles and all-shrimp wonton. A bit pricey for the size of the serving tho.
Big heft to the wontons. Beef tendon not too fatty.
Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup Hot & Sour Pork Lo Mein I love their Hot & Sour Pork Lo Mein, which was with great well balanced hot and sour flavours. Especially it s saucy and the pork was lean but not dry. It s perfectly delicious. Definitely would go back when I have the craving for it.
Ordered take away. The wontons were delicious. Little bit pricey but worth to try.
Person coming from Hong Kong can confirm this is authentic. Wonton, beef, fish ball, chili oil, lemon tea are all good. The portion is big for my stomach - tons of noodles. The owner was very polite and can speak both Cantonese and Mandarin. Untried suggestion: Perhaps you can request separating the noodles and soup when ordering. The noodles were really firm and chewy the first few minutes but softened afterwards. The portion of noodles was simply too generous lol
Top three in multiple market stalls
Greeted as soon as I walked in! Chinese dumpling is full of flavour and the shrimp was hearty. Customer service and food was on point and Im looking forward to eating here again.
I am a tourist from Hong Kong, China, and this shop was introduced to me by local relatives and friends. My family enjoyed: wonton noodle soup, wonton dace ball noodle soup, wonton beef brisket noodles and fried fish skin; all the food was at Hong Kong level and tasted the same. The only difference is the portion size; the portion per bowl is about 50% larger; one bowl is enough to fill you up. The boss is talkative and polite .
I have been to this restaurant many times. I would say it is my number one pick for both consistency in service and food quality. Service is always friendly but not overly familiar. One is always greeted immediately upon entering even if there is a lineup, so no anxiety as to who is first in line. Wait time is never long because service is very efficient and it is worth the wait. I ve had many of their items and they are all good. Beef brisket has been tender and flavourful every time I ve had it. I love their traditional Chinese dumplings and cuttlefish balls. The dumplings are well-balanced with the perfect amount of shrimp & pork. The cuttlefish balls have an excellent texture, bouncy with a pronounced taste of cuttlefish and also little chunks of cuttlefish inside. Their house-made chilli sauce has a good kick and one can buy it to go too. I highly recommend this restaurant for a casual meal or mid-afternoon snack. They only take cash or debit card.
Love this place wonton noodles.
We been there many times and the food is always consistency and it is bit pricy now, so we dont go there too often than before now.
Good taste, good service
If youre looking for a really authentic place for some really massive hand made Shrimp Wonton, then look no further than Wonton Hut. Nestled inbetween McDonalds and Coras its very easy to miss, which is a shame But this mom and pop operation offers some really big and tasty wonton and noodles. You can order noodle with wonton, or if youre watching your carbs you can order just the wonton straight in soup only. Dont forget to use the red vinegar and their house made chilli oil. Yum Theyre closed Mondays but open every other day from 11am to 8 pm. They do get busy during the lunch rush so either order away or expect a small wait
So good yo!
Both Wonton & the soup don t taste like the traditional Cantonese wonton & soup. Wonton is too large, salty & not tender enough to chew. Yau Chou was over cooked. Lastly, no receipt was given when we paid. No evidence of the transaction. Why? Do they file any tax yearly. I doubt Awful experience & will never come again.
The best shrimp wonton noodle soup!!!! Love their super bouncy cuttlefish balls and crispy fish skin as well!!!! The boss and staff are very friendly and greeted each customer with their heart! I m so happy that they open til 8pm now (it was 6pm before)!
Ordered the Wonton Noodles Very generous in portions the noodles were very chewy - giving it a great texture! - the Wonton was large, flavorful and shrimp had great texture. Friendly and quick service! Food : 5/5
This place looks basic but their wonton noodle is on par with the best. The noodle is springy and chewy. This wonton has so much shrimp and shrimp flavor. You know its fresh. Its as authentic wonton noodle places as it can be. The service here is quick and efficient. I almost couldnt believe how fast our food came out. Parking: Parking lot in the plaza with plenty of parking spots.
As you can see from my photos - my partner got the shrimp wontons (only) in soup. And I got the shrimp wontons with mein in soup. Noodles were springy. Wontons were stuffed with fresh perfectly cooked shrimp. Delish. And the broth? A pinnacle of MSG soups. More please, in my mouth! The chili oil is friggin BOMB. A little goes a long way but put as much as you need to get that kick in the throat. If youre not coughing after slurping that soup, drop another teaspoon of that shiet! Thank the Lord I live close to here. Will try dumplings next time and report back.
Unfortunately my partner and I got food poisoning there last time we went
Not the best wonton - soup lacks depth of flavor, the wonton have pork in it
Had food poisoning after eating here on Sunday afternoon. Stomach started cramping 2 hours after eating the wonton noodles here and am still having diarrhea until now. The service was excellent. All the staff there were so nice and accommodating even though they were busy. It s not my first time here and food was fine the other times and tastes pretty good.
The best in town
Came here for my favorite wonton in town. It s so fresh and big. Value of money. Place are clean and arrive are excellent. Definitely come back!
Shrimp Wonton Noodle soup is my go-to here (always with egg noodles) and the brisket noodle soup is great as well. Service is always quick and friendly when you order ahead for takeout which is what I usually do. Takeout is always well packaged as well as I drive from about 25 mins out to pick up. Their house Milk tea is really tasty perfect balance of creaminess and sweetness and comes in a cute cup. They take both cash and debit here as well. I ve never dined in as it s usual a busy area for parking and dining. But do recommend all their soups.
This place used to be good , not anymore. I am a wonton noodles lover and tried many eateries for them. Cant believe how the quality has deteriorated in recent time. Cooked in soup with all artificial flavourings as it tastes like . Shrimps had absolutely no taste and so fishy.
Solid 3.5 to 4 stars, would recommend the cuttlefish balls here The cuttlefish balls are probably the best I ve had in Markham and North York The horfun this time was ok, could have been a bit more al dente The soup needed more flavour, either by adding MSG or using more shrimp shells and more time to create the flavourful soup base A basic order (1 bowl of noodles) is gonna run you $12.70 plus tip.. cash of debit only.. Parking: For sure you will find parking Wheelchair accessibility: Very kind and friendly staff will make it a good experience
My go to wonton spot, the soup is delicious and the noodles are cooked to perfection.
Great if youre Asian cause of that Asian-Asian connection. Food is great and filling and also not that bad of a price. Reminds me of local noodle stops in China in terms of vibes.
Atmosphere and quality seems to have gone down hill. Price has gone up though. Didn t feel that I was treated that well during my last visit.
I love wonton hut! This place is definitely a Markham staple if youre craving wonton noodle soup. This time I ordered the dumpling noodle soup and it did not disappoint - the dumplings are juicy and meaty, and the noodles are chewy and cooked perfectly as always. The staff are also all so sweet and kind - definitely recommend!!
Today I ordered a bowl of wonton noodles, a bowl of wonton river, and a bowl of beef ball river. The beef balls and wontons are delicious. Those noodles are so pretty. The worst thing is a little vinegar. Sweet and tasteless. There is no sour taste at all. Its really a fly in the ointment. In fact, a little vinegar makes the wontons so hot. pity.
Great service, friendly staff. Great dumplings. Bought 2 dozens of dumplings.
I ordered the wonton soup noodle with brisket and my mom ordered the wonton soup noodle. SOUP *** i tried my moms wonton soup as mine had the brisket sauce mixed it, and though it was tasty, it was really salty. the brisket sauce is also very salty. this soup was so salty it took away from the experience. tasting the soup, you taste salt before any other flavours from the broth. i was left thirsty for hours, and i had to drink about a liter of water to quench my thirst. in my opinion, Jim Chai Kee (richmond hill) has a much better soup. its seasoned correctly so that one can taste the nuanced flavour of the wonton soup first, and the salt is there to enhance that. NOODLES *** noodles were perfectly cooked. they were super chewy, and held up to the soup during the course of the meal. WONTONS *** about 3 whole shrimps (30/34 size). ok springiness and texture. flavour was great. wrapper was ok. noteworthy is that wonton soup noodles come with 4 wontons. i ordered wonton soup noodle + brisket, and i only got 3. BRISKET *** stewed really well. very, very soft- it was fork tender. the meat was also trimmed so that my portion of beef had no elastin at all. there were thin layers of fat and gelatin left on that really enhanced the flavour. sadly, it was really salty.
Small place, with a very good wonton. The staff was very nice despite the language barier. The wontons were big and very tasty and so was the soup.
Very bland. Broth had no flavour, noodles weren t nice, and the wontons had no flavour beside the taste and feel of over cooked shrimp. Will never go back.
The food quality is consistent and I love the homemade squid balls is so nice newly renovated
Food is acceptable in quality and taste and good service
Clean, quick, bowl of noodles
A classic institution in markham and excited to finally try it. The wontons were actually huge and an actual two biter! The noodles were your classic noodles for the wonton noodle soup and nice and tasty! Really nice chew to it all. Loved the fact that it wasn t too salty either. The flavour all came from the wontons and proteins! Service was good! Didn t rush me even though I already knew what I wanted and still wanted to see if I was going to add more. Great job overall! Follow me on IG @thirst_and_taste for better pics, vids and more amazing content!
2022 April 4 Your here because your hungry for some traditional HK style Wontons and dumplings and lucky you, youve found the place! This place has a lot of celebrities who stop by and for some pretty good reason. Their Wontons and shrimp dumplings are amazing. So far, probably one of the best out there. Dont take my own advice, look at others. The cuttle fish ball is also great. Bouncy/chewy texture with pieces of cuttlefish and good flavors. The noodles where cooked perfectly and the soup base was very good. At about $10 a bowl with 4 pieces of Wontons and noodles, its well priced. This small hut has about 7 tables currently and well spaced out. They currently also sell fried fish skin chips and their homemade hot sauce. Parking plenty within the plaza, but being next to a few restaurants you might need to park a few steps further.
So very, very, very delicious!
After some bad experiences with Big Xxx Wonton. This is my favourite wonton place to go. Their broth is much better, wonton is good, beef are more tender and I love they provide yellow chives, this is very authentic.
There are things that are not meant to be changed, old fashion England fish and chips, slow smoked beef brisket, and this, good old fashion wonton with a fresh brew glass of iced milk tea. Oversized wonton with the finest shrimps, chopped together with fresh minced pork, coupled with a clear bowl of wonton soup, topped with the most freshest noodles. For those of you who dont know this, when you order a wonton noodle and the noodle sits on top of the bowl, and the wonton is hidden at the bottom, you know for sure that this is authentic. This is done so that the noodle doesnt soak into the soup as much, and therefore keeps its crunchy texture intact. Thank you wonton hut Price range $10-$20 per person
Busy place.
busy reaturant. Tasty. I forgot to take picture of my soup
Unfortunately, the shrimp in the wontons tasted like chemicals. The noodles and soup were good.
Amazing Food. Small menu Big Flavor. Definitely will return!
Deeply flavourful broth in the Traditional Wonton Soup with Noodles. Seafood based broth is not what I am used to (I am used to Chicken broth) but the flavour is so full that I liked it a lot. It would be great to have a chicken broth option too. I cant wait for the new store to open around the corner from where I live on Queen St W. In downtown Toronto.
Favorite beef brisket noodle soup
Brisket was pure fat. For 16 dollars. Dont order this. I dont even know what ir was
COLD NOODLES. Amazing for the hot day. Highly recommend for that alone. Note: they DO have beer. Service is amazing. Food was amazing. Smaller menu for right now so we tried everything. Brisket was pull apart. Crispy wontons tasted like nostalgia. If youre in the area check it out. I really hope we get even more Markham plaza spots downtown now.
Delicious Cantonese-style noodles, beef brisket, wontons, and dumplings are all top-notch, and the Kyoto fried noodles are special.
Had take-out. One of the best wonton noodle soups Ive ever had in my life. It was fire. Will return.
Generally good but wontons were a bit too salty.
Best wonton mein and all stuff the best in town
Best wonton shop in town. Bring back memories in HK. Handmade and two shrimps in one wonton.
Amazing wonton noodles here! Always brings me back to childhood. They now have drinks to go too - milk tea and lemon tea. Must try!! Follow me for more food adventures on Instagram at @maggielicious.to
Delicious noodle soup here for a great price. Lost a star for being more on the salty side and the struggle to communicate with the servers. They make up for it in smiles though. Got the brisket egg noodle soup, shrimp wonton egg noodle soup, shrimp wonton lo mein. If youre super hungry, pay the $2 for extra noodles (its A LOT).
I have been to at least 7 wonton noodle restaurants in Markham and Scarborough, and I particularly recommend this one for its wontons, dumplings and brisket noodles. The noodles are chewy, the soup is authentic, and even the side dishes are fresh and just right. The beef brisket is particularly good, and the wontons and dumplings are also outstanding. The chili sauce is also top notch.
Havent visited for more than 2 years. The quality of food is still good.
Taste, price is okay, service is poor.
They made really good wontons. Very authentic Hong Kong food. Really nice!!
Great food. Good price but Poor customer service. If your waiting for a table but dont speak chinese, better monitor your place in line. I came yesterday, was given a number and asked to wait. While waiting inside, next to the cashier desk, i was on my phone replying to personal emails. About 20 mins later, i noticed everyone who came after me was already seated. When i approached the server to let them know, she looked at me, turned her back and went about her business, serving other customers. This is extremely rude and unprofessional.
Excellent wontons. I only order the shrimp and pork won ton soup without the noodles. Closest thing to hong kong flavour in GTA.
i ve dined in a few times and usually the experience and food is really good. however today i found a bug in my soup a tiny bug with antennas and scraggly legs. i showed it to the server and they did replace my soup with a new bowl. at first the server claimed the bugs weren t bugs, but actually remnants from the chilli oil but the remnants wouldn t have legs or antennas sadly i kept finding similar small bugs in my NEW bowl of soup(probably found 4-5 in total - decided to stop searching after that) and couldn t bring myself to finish the bowl. thankfully the staff were understanding and did refund my bowl of shrimp wonton soup.
There are lots of problems such as their service and food. For instance, the servers were rude and annoyed after my grandparents had issues communicating with them and used noodles youll find normally in a cheap container of instant noodles. In spite the fact it was decent, our total cost came to more than 100 dollars for four people, and we werent even full.
Authentic HK style wonton noodle soup. Noodle was springy, wonton and fish balls were fresh and tasty.
Great spot - I like the dumpling noodles in soup; wonton noodles in soup and beef brisket Lo mein. Their iced HK milk tea and lemon tea are also great! Travels well for takeout
Amazing wonton noodles, best in town. Clear and golden broth, top ingredient freshly made, friendly staff.
First time here. Grandma gives me a good introduction. His ink pills are awesome Real ingredients, full of cuttlefish pellets You won t be able to eat the powder in your mouth Although it s not fair, the price for a dozen raw ingredients is 20CAD. But if it s good, it s naturally expensive. Guaranteed value for money
Beef brisket savory and very tender, shrimps with a crunch inside the wonton and the noodles with a very good chew. Better than all of NYC where I m from
Poor customer service, asked the lady for a cup of tea by the time I got the bill; I still didnt get my tea. Winter season is here and there was no cover in the vestibule to block the wind for customers inside the restaurant. We sat near the front of the vestibule and didnt take off our jackets. Four ladies were working the kitchen and one was making the wontons. Its literally a four person operation one to man the noodle kitchen, two to serve/cashier and one to make the wontons. We waited like 30+ minutes for noodles. The noodles were satisfactory but you can taste the beef brisket wasnt fresh enough. I usually come here once a year. I will change my review if these changes are made. Below picture is the most up to date prices. Parking: Plenty of parking Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible
This original outpost is the undisputed restaurant for wonton egg noodles. The egg noodles are perfectly chewy when served, heaped on top of the dumplings to make sure they don t overcook too quickly while sitting in the hot soup. Sometimes, the broth is hot enough that I wished the noodles were just left slightly undercooked, but that s me being way too picky. The wontons or dumplings have an abundance of fresh shrimp that are springy in texture and delicious in their thin dumpling wraps. If you re looking for wonton noodles, you have to try this in-house!
Really tasty, fast, lomein and wanton joint. Well set up for takeout given the current circumstances. Food was hot, service was good, food was very tasty!
Been visited this family run business for their wonton noodle soup for many times! Very good in quality and fast in service!
Ive been coming to this family owned business for a few years now. Service is amazing and their wonton soup is the best!
I ve been coming to this place for years! Always fresh, always good. The soup base is just amazing. You can taste the qualitied ingredients. One of the better, if not the best wonton restaurants, in the neighbourhood! I really love their wontons with the cloud ear mushrooms. It s nice you can buy the wontons for take home as well. But I have to admit that I d rather eat-in or take-out a complete meal because I can t quite replicate their soup base or their delicious chewy wonton noodles.
One of my top pics for wonton and brisket (noodle in soup) I highly recommend !
Wonton and dumplings are as good as before, and to maintain the standard during the epidemic, it is really not easy to find a shop that is willing to make dumplings well now.
My favourite wonton spot.
The wonton and soup is great but the noodle could be a bit soft but it depends on individual taste, right?
Tasty dumplings - the wontons are better than dumplings. Broth is flavourful. The amount of hot oil given is a little sad...literally like 2drops of hot oil
In Hong Kong, you can join 2 teams, very unpleasant memories!
Original wonton noodle soup.
Stars of the show here are the noodles and the wontons. The noodles are springy and taste really flavourful, while the wontons are fresh, plump and juicy. The sauce for the noodle, however can be improved especially for the oyster sauce which is on the salty side. I also enjoy the braised brisket which is tender and packed with umami. Prepare to wait 15-30 minutes during lunch hours as indoor seating is limited during Covid.
Best in town. No explanation needed!
EDIT: Recently came back for take out and Im happy to say the quality has stayed consistent and delicious. The soup comes in a separate container and the noodle container is the bowl shaped ones so you can pour and eat directly from it. Service is always friendly. Theyre open for dine in now, Vax record checked before seating. Fried fish skin is a new addition to the menu. ***** Got the dumpling and hot and sour pork lo mein. Wonton Hut has been more or less consistent with their wontons but I find that their soup used to have better depth of flavour. It could just be the sourcing of quality ingredients is more difficult these days but I find that the shrimp wontons dont have as much of a fragrant shrimp flavour as before. Prices have steadily gone up over the years as well. Their hot & sour pork isnt traditional with more ketchup flavours but its still pretty good. I prefer the dumplings here. Theres a nice mix of textures from the shrimp, pork and crunchy wood ear mushrooms.
Fresh noodles and scrumptious wontons!
I come here occasionally to buy their fresh handmade fish paste. The quality is quite good. Their egg noodles are very average in flavour, nothing special. Although there was one time that I came here and I saw a chef in the back clip his nails in front of the food that he was making us (since we were the only ones dining in at the time, I would assume that the food wasnt for anyone else), and next thing I know, he takes the food from that very pot to serve to us. Never dined in again (out of sight out of mind)
Overall, this place have pretty good food. However, I found this in the noodles and was disappointed. The boss apologized and refund my meal.
Average place. It s cheap and quick, but the quality of the food is mediocre. There is much better wonton in the city, but if you re in a hurry for a quick bite, doesn t hurt.
Always good service and good food
Noodles are chewy and wonton has big pieces of shrimp. Beef brisket well marinated and tender. Soup base is flavourful with lots of chives.
Good memories
while price increases are understandable during this time, a decrease in quality is not. I only recovered one singular piece of beef brisket which to me, is unacceptable especially since I m paying a higher price
Very quick service if you want to grab a quick bite. It may almost be faster than McDonald s right beside it if you know what you want and your order is a standard bowl of noodles. The wontons are big here and the price is good. Highly recommend this place for a nice warming bowl of wonton noodles for a very quick stop. Don t expect exceptional service or anything like that. This is a quick-serve place. Just go and enjoy the food.
