An innovative approach to serving basic Indian cuisine doesnt need dark and dull interior. As a fine dining restaurant, the restaurant disappointed us on various occasions. Although the soup was nice, but the instructions of serving noodles on the side werent followed. The sizzling platter of appetizers just had 2 pieces each of the food listed, making it not enough for 4 of us share. Lastly the ambience is expected to be niche like many of their counter parts such as Tamarind or Adrak, however it wasnt. Low lighting, just a small mushroom on the table, failing to illuminate the small table, not able to see what being served, or eaten. The cherry on the cake was the flashing Disco lights that they start after a certain point in night, just flashing around and hitting your eyes. Overall, not recommended for a date or a special occasion.

All food items were over spiced and no taste. Would not recommend it. Food

The chaat that came with the live chaat experience tasted atrocious. Yogurt was frozen with liquid nitrogen and it just ruined the dish. It was not worth $24. The khadai paneer had little paneer in it but tasted alright. The prices were too high for mediocre tasting food that was also small in portion sizes. Atmosphere was nice and servers were nice though.

Food was so less and too much masala poured. Stomach went bad , paneer was so tight. And prices were so on the sky felt like looted.

If you like biriyani and Mughal cuisine, this is the place for you. I personally found Garlic naan and Kadai chicken to be extraordinary, highly recommending this place for an amazing vibe and atmosphere along with Bollywood songs. Kalyan Boses service was amazing too. I did another visit for my 3rd wedding anniversary and as usual this restaurant would never disappoint us. The guy from Himachal/Kuwait have given extraordinary service. Extremely good food and smoky lightning vibe is the usp for this restaurant. This time the amazing chicken platter surprised me! Highly recommended!!!

Atmosphere and service was great but the food to price ratio : ! Dont even ask the bill they gave and the low quantity plus it was so much filled with extra masalas , i could easily taste the ready made masala box poured into the curry.

The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, always ready to recommend dishes based on your preferences. I highly recommend trying their signature gravies and a few of the Chinese specialties you won t be disappointed!

Average experience. The chaat was good. Dum Pukht Chicken was okay. But vindaloo lamb was dry and tough.

I have had the take out from this restaurant many times. The food was always decent. I have not been for a few years but suggested to a colleague we go for a business dinner. It was geographically convenient. The restaurant was nice with great chairs. The food came and was better than I remembered. We ordered 6 dishes and all were very good. I have been all over the GTA for Indian food and this was one of the best dinners. The food was not as heavy as some Indian food can be.

Was first time here on a lunch date and I must say the place is very spacious and the food menu is very exhaustive with great taste. The restrooms were super clean with cool mist which was the best part. Lmao. I know this sounds weird but trust me. Food tasted really good and service was quick. Best or preferred seating i would recommend is upper deck or platform booth seats that are much more spacious and comfortable. They also have a full bar. I am confident their dinner menu and place is Lit.

yesterday it was my birthday and we came here and it was great. ambience was great , on top of that The service was really good. Also, they had us cake for the birthday and they didnt charge us for that so which was the cherry on the cake.

The food was ok not spicy at all, the service was friendly, and the prices are high. The Dum moong daal halwa was good. The Mali kofta , however, lacked flavour and could be improved. The staff was polite and welcoming.

I honestly found the food to be ok. I have had better North Indian food in Canada, since it s a fine dining restaurant I was expecting a better experience. We ordered Hara bhara kabab which was good as a starter as our waiter didn t take the order of Live chaat. Service was good but paneer tikka masala and makai kofta which were chefs special tasted more like elaichi which made it somewhat bitter aftertaste and were not spicy. Tandoori roti, lacha parantha and Moong daal halwa were ok. But if you are into true North Indian style cuisine, do think before visiting Dum Pukht as price is on a higher side.

Dum Pukht is your one stop for satisfying your late night Indian food cravings. Afterall, they are open until 6am! We enjoyed a variety of delicious Indian dishes but if you come here you must try their Dum-Pukht Biryani, which is what they are known for! Aesthetics, presentation, taste, flavour, smell, its all there! Their garlic naan paired with their Rogan Josh was also one of our favourites. The lamb meat was just so tender and the sauce was just perfection in flavour. Dont skip out on ordering drinks or dessert either. They have an extensive menu for both but we went with the classics, mango lassi to start and gulab jamun to end our meal. Feeling adventurous, we also tried one of their popular mocktails, the Indian style lime soda, which proved to be both an interesting and unique compliment to our Indian feast. We got the rara chicken, dal makhni , pindi and the vegetable dum biryani which were all great. The vegetable dum biryani arrived fresh in a clay pot sealed with dough which was very impressive. The pindi lacked some flavour but wasn t terrible. The waiter who brought it to us opened it and set it aside for our serving. We were more impressed with the quality of service. Our water was always filled, they gave us a small cake to celebrate a birthday and even packed out leftovers for us.

Indian fine dining. Dun Pukht offers refined authentic dishes with balanced spices. The Biryani rice was aromatic, flavors are rich and sophisticated. Elegant ambiance, impeccable attentive service.

Great food and service. Convenient hours. Floors a bit slippery for some reason, not sure if its the material or what they are using to clean them. Still 5 stars, will be back. Mutton Biryani is the best around.

I am so happy I found Dum Phukt Indian Restaurant on my first day in Canada! It has been my favorite fine dining spot ever since. Ive tried almost every Indian restaurant in the area, but this one is the best. After COVID, I noticed that the food and service werent as good, which was disappointing. But now, they are back and better than ever! The food is so delicious and full of great flavors again. I also love their packaging; its really impressive! It makes every meal feel special. If you want a great dining experience, Dum Phukt is the place to go. They have really improved, and I give them 10 stars for their amazing food and service! I cant wait to visit and order again

I had a wonderful dining experience! The appetizers and main course were delightful, with an authentic Indian taste that truly impressed me. I particularly enjoyed the tandoori roti with butter, vegetable jalfrezi, and methi mutter malai. The service was excellent, and Pavan s outstanding attention made our meal even more enjoyable. Very bad experience with service. Its Saturday night which is club night and i understand but there was nobody dancing or vibing we were 7 people and we requested to turn music down a little. They straight rudely said no. It was very very annoying and wasn t able to place order or talk to friends without shouting twice. Not at all good service or any kind of understanding. I came here with alot of hopes as its been legacy and i have been to other locations. But this is total disappointment. Nothing to food as i didn t experience but it kills the hunger. Visited this place while was on trip to Canada. Nice Indian cuisine restaurant with good seating and ambiance. Only thing is food is bit costly as per the area and food portion size is less as compared to other restaurants. Taste is good and service was fast.

The name resembles a famous restaurant in New Delhi, India. The name should give a hint that the food served is will be spiced up properly, and well cooked; primarily Mughlai and Northern Indian. I have dine-in, picked-up and also got it delivered via Uber Eats. Pick-up and Delivery has been really good. The quality of packing is fantastic, it ensures the food delivered will be hot even if it late by a few mins. I have not been disappointed with their packing and it has been consistent for a while,...one request would be to invest in more sustainable packing. Dine-in gets busy towards the peak hours, there might be some wait during peak lunch and dinner hours. The restaurant is open late, and has rush over the weekends. The staff is polite and makes an effort on providing quality service. The ambience is a bit on darker side, so if you are with babies/kids who dont prefer too low lights - then it might be an issue. The food quality, cooking and taste is pretty consistent. The spice level is on regular side, which is good as they dont serve only to America/Canadian tastes unlike some other restaurants in the area. I would recommend trying the Dal Makahni, Fish Tikka, Chat and breads. The quantity of Biryani is bit small and more towards a southern side. Deserts are alright. Cocktails are basic...it is served with style. I have had issues with kebabs and tikka (mostly chicken), in some cases the it was under cooked, which is unlike what you would expect from a Mughlai (usually well-done). Overall, this is a must visit if you are in the vicinity. I have not been disappointed with the food quality and taste, I have ordered many times...

It s so disappointing I ordered 2 items online and they just delivered me only 1 item they forgot to give my second order and even though they did mistake they were not accepting that they did it their manager Gaurav was not even a listening to me and arguing with me that it s not their mistake and then i have to reorder food and when i got my food it was so cold and not even fresh I ll never order food from this restaurant anymore and I ll never suggest this restaurant to any of my friends and relatives

Everything was just phenomenal. The food, the vibe, the ambience, the presentation.....set my standards higher. I went with my cousins and family and had a great time together

The service was ok but the tomato soup was a big disappointment for me. Could see oil all over the soup. Had ordered it for my little one but see this didn t feel like giving it to her. They should not rush in giving the food if it is not prepared properly. I felt like I was eating some main course curry instead of soup.

There were 16 of us in total: 10 adults and 6 kids, with an average age of 10. We all enjoyed the food immensely until we received the bill, which totaled 680. Despite two adults having a beer each, I found the final amount exorbitant.Next time I will think 10 times before coming here .

Worst experience! I heard so much about this restaurant so I went there on my birthday with my friends. I had a very disappointing experience. Staff had horrible attitude towards us. They wouldn t even let me finish ordering and walked away a few times. And the quantity of food was not even sufficient for 1 person. We were just 4 people and while paying the bill, they already added gratuity without our consent. We were gonna tip, but they added 18% gratuity which was a lot considering their services and behaviour towards us. Never visiting this place again!

The food was bland. The attendant suggested us mixed veg platter. It was completely tasteless. Main course was sweet in taste. The only good thing was their cheese naan. Overall, experience was not at all worth the price.

I visited with my family, but the staffs attitude was absolutely dreadful. When we asked for suggestions, their responses were curt and unhelpful, as if they were being forced to work and take our order. It was clear they had no interest in providing good service. The food was mediocre at best, but the overall experience was severely tarnished by the poor service.

Weve been there celebrating occasions regularly and enjoy their delicious food. Highly recommended if you havent been. From Tandoor dishes curries and veg options to the tandoori naans and rotis, all superb. My favorites are Rara mutton or chicken and the lamb biryani. Vegetarian options: Good variety of Veg options from the Tandoor to Curries and daals.

Had biryani, for me it was more like a pulao. I was expecting Hyderabadi biryani when they mention Dum biryani, it wasnt. Food was tasty though.

We had over 20 guests for dinner at this particular location. The food was delicious and very tasty. We order lamb briyani, shrimp briyani, chicken briyani and veg briyani. The curry we ordered was butter chicken, panner, shrimp curry and fish curry with butter naan. It was absolutely amazing. I would definitely back for more and recommendto family and friends. Dont forget to complete the meal with the mango Lassi . Quick and prompt food service. The price point is a little higher than outside competitors. Thank you DUM PUKHT !!!

I visited this location as part of an IG collaboration and tried their: - Chicken Biryani - Live Chaat Experience - Butter Chicken - Chocolate Mousse Cake - Mojito All of their drinks are served in a basket of flowers with sparklers. Another notable experience is the live chaat, where the chaat is made before your eyes using liquid nitrogen. I liked that the flame beneath the biryani kept it nice and warm throughout our meal. The dessert was my absolute favourite and I highlighted recommend trying jt. The texture is so light with a crispy caramelized layer on top. Everything is super nice

Food was good, service was friendly and prices were reasonable. Would recommend this restaurant for Indian food if youre in the area. Our favourite was the Khatti Meethi Gobi which tastes best as soon as it is served, piping hot and crispy. The rara Mutton was also delicious and had a good balance of minced meat and mutton pieces. The dum pukht chicken Biryani was good. The chicken Tikka was okay, was lacking in flavour and could have been better. Servers were courteous and friendly.

On May 6th, I visited Dum Pukht and opted for the Vegetable Biryani. While the taste was satisfactory, upon unpacking the leftovers at home, I was startled to find a small cockroach in the biryani. This experience was quite shocking and left me deeply disappointed with the overall service quality.

Dum Pukht restaurant is not only a culinary gem but also a haven for night owls, as it stays open till 6 am. Dum Pukht offers a delightful culinary experience with its flavorful dishes like the chicken fried Schezwan and chicken Manchurian gravy, hakka style. The burst of flavors in every bite is truly satisfying. The staffs friendly demeanor adds to the welcoming atmosphere, making dining here a pleasure. Came for my anniversary and had a great time. The food was awesome and highly recommend the Paan Martini. Most importantly was the service, Gaurav was an amazing host! He provided great recommendatoons, shared some history behind the name of the restaurant and described the dishes we chose. He really made the experience extra special. Thank you Gaurav!

Love this place. First visit. Just punched in Indian food to google and it was voted best in area. Im in Southern Ontario visiting from Thunder Bay. Live Indian food and this is the best ive tasted.

This Indian restaurant in Markham is an absolute gem! The flavors are incredible, the service is top-notch, and the ambiance is cozy. We had the pleasure of being served by GK. He was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was exceptional.

Upon reaching our seat, the waiter took our orders. My family and I had made reservations. He began by asking us to view the appetizers and meals and asking what we would like to drink. After placing food and drink orders, we waited for around forty-five minutes. None of the beverages four mango lassis, one apple juice, and two masala chai tea arrived at our table. Furthermore, none of the staff followed up to see if we needed anything further after the food was delivered. Above all, there was absolutely no booster seat available for my child. It is not advised to take children under three because of the lack of seats this makes it a terrible Dine-in experience. I should also mention that, because we are a family of seven, the restaurant changed our reservation from the restaurant to the banquet. I should also mention that you should not undervalue the prestige that comes with the banquet hall; its all a matter of attitude, and the customer service is far poorer. There were two servers assigned to the entire fifty-person dinner hall.

Beautiful restaurant, the food was so good and well presented also the service was amazing by Mr Vinish who explained all the type of food and meats and also suggested some dishes, he s so friendly, so professional and made our dining experience so special. I ordered the food from Uber there is a guy here who works been there few times I remember his voice the guy is so rude. Recently I ordered the food from Uber and I tried to mention my instructions as we have the right to inform as we are paying what to eat and what level of spice we need. I was allergic to some ingredients so I mentioned that the guy called he is bald hair and wear spects he is really rude to customer said that we can t do this for u the food instructions won t be not followed if u want to cancel so cancel and when I ask him what kind of language you are using and how can you speak he said this is the way you can go and call the manager so what you want as if he don t care. This is not the restaurant where we are suppose to eat totally bad service and I was organising the party here for my birthday but I will cancel it now and strictly don t recommend this kind of restaurant

Great atmosphere.

We went on Friday May 17. Our main server Vinish was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the dishes. He was a very good representative of this resto. Food quality and presentation was excellent . The service was a bit slow at the beginning but certainly improved.

Great Biryani with veg opition and nice presentation of serving biryani.. check it out .. Worth it .. appreciate the overall ambience and hospitality service . Chicken Sampler was Yummy Good restaurant in nearby vicinity of Markham GTA. Thanks .. will definitely visit again for live music . Vegetarian options: Veg Dum Pukht is the one you all should try

Everything is so expensive here, its not worth paying $20 for 1 Sabji and $4 for a coke can. Other restaurants like Shaas, Ishq charges less and provides better taste and quantity. Plus all the male staff has weird attitude, they never respond to anything nicely. I will not come here again!

Our waiter, Prakash, made our dining experience truly special. He was friendly and professional and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect. Well be back for more, and I would love to be served by him again. I highly recommend him!

Dum Pukht is hands down the best Indian restaurant Ive ever been to in Markham! The food was incredible and authentic, every dish we ordered was bursting with unique flavours and cooked to perfection. The staff were so friendly and attentive, walking us through the menu and providing recommendations based on our preference. The Dum-Pukht Biryani is a must-order! Overall, it was an unforgettable dining experience, and I cant wait to go back!

Service was fast and efficient, staff was friendly, and food was delicious. My favourite was the butter chicken and samosa. This place was packed on a Saturday evening and I definitely understand why. The atmosphere here was nice as well.

Such a great authentic indian spot, the atmosphere was amazing, customer service is attentive, and the food was tasty! My faves were definitely the chicken tikka masala and the garlic naan! This place is amazing! The service was spectacular, the food was there in less than 5 mins!! That is by far the fastest time I ve been served in a restaurant! Not to mention, it tasted spectacular! The dessert was also fancy and yummy. The decor was also beautiful!

The Food was nice. The service was ok. Also, its open late nights. Pro tip- while paying please take a check of the bill, as they provide the bill with added gratuity. So if u are tipping that would be an additional tip we ended up giving a $cad 35 in a tip. And realized it after the payment. Food

The ambience of this place is really good. Our server, Prakash was very helpful in recommending our order and it didnt disappoint. We had ordered chicken tikka, soya chaap, dum pukht biryani, achaari paneer and butter naan. For dessert we had ordered nest rasmalai and kheer. The rasmalai was mouth watering and tasty but I cannot say the same for kheer. In mocktails, Black pearl tasted well. One can try it out. The food presentation was amazing. Its a bit on the expensive side but you can visit for the ambience and service. They say its a halal service but not sure about it.

Highly recommend Dum Phukt as a vegetarian. Great variety in food and the taste is amazing. My personal recommendation for main course would be to order the Kaju Makhana Ki Subzi (request it to be spicy). Special shoutout to Gaurav who has made our visit exceptional each visit with his friendliness and great attention to detail. Thanks again Gaurav, will be back soon!

I ordered live chaat experience this dish seemed very fancy at the beginning. The server was kind enough to explain the dish. At the start the base of the chat was with a papad. Chaat and papad have no relation ever. There was a fancy addition of liquid nitrogen curd, which made the chat feel -40 degree celsius after the very first bite. And at the end the live chaat was decorated with ginger juliennes. The taste of the fancy liquid nitrogen curd chaat with papad was a disaster to my taste buds. The food was average.

Had been yesterday to celebrate my son s birthday, great food, good service and well recognized customers birthdays, keep it up dum pukht management. Makes us choose this place as our first choice for celebrating occasions.

We made reservation for 10 ppl at midnight on a Friday and we were treated very well by the waiter Gaurav Rana who was amazing. He served us and our family friends from NY who are picky with food, and they were very pleased. They even brought us requests that were not on the menu. They accommodated my vegetarian family friends very well, food was amazing and hot, and we love the fact that they are open until 6:00 AM Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options especially the okra and daal. Highly recommend.
