Recently had our company Holiday Party at Novita. Sandy/Raj were a dream to work with as they answered all my questions and many changes to the set menu to accommodate all of my guest dietary needs. The service was fantastic as everyone was so kind and sweet. Our team were able to freely move around in our lovely section to chat, take pictures and play games. The food was amazing and portions were great. We are options of meat and vegetarian and no one complained! Everything was just perfect, allowing the team/guest to truly relax and enjoy themselves! We cannot thank Novita enough for hosting our company party and making sure we have a fun, enjoyable night. We will definitely return next year and have any future events here!
This Italian restaurant is a solid option if you're in the mood for some classic dishes. The portions are generous, and it's an average price for the quality of the food. The food's tasty, but I wouldn't say it's anything spectacular. The service is fine, though the waiters do seem a bit hurried. The dessert options were a little lacking. They do have plenty of parking, which is convenient. Overall, it's a good spot for a decent meal.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Novita Italian cuisine, and I can confidently say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere, which set the stage for what turned out to be a delightful meal. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the food. Each dish was a masterpiece, bursting with flavors that danced on my palate. From the appetizers to the dessert, every bite was mouthwatering and exceeded my expectations. The chefs truly know how to create culinary magic, making it hard to pick a favorite! What made the experience even better was the fantastic customer service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about ensuring that every guest felt welcomed and satisfied. It was clear that they take pride in their work, and their enthusiasm added to the overall enjoyment of the meal. Lastly, I cannot forget to mention the owners, who embody the spirit of hospitality. They took the time to check in on guests, share their stories, and make everyone feel like part of the family. Their dedication to providing a top-notch dining experience is evident in every aspect of the restaurant. If you're looking for a place where delicious food meets outstanding service, look no further than Novita Italian cuisine. I can't wait to return and indulge in more of their fantastic offerings!
I had the Raviloi Pollo and the grilled calamari. The rose sauce was really nice and I truly enjoyed the filling. You must try the grilled calamari, cooked just right, not rubbery at all!
Novita Italian Cuisine is an absolute gem! With its exceptional food and outstanding customer service, it has quickly become my go-to venue for hosting special events. I’ve had the pleasure of organizing two gatherings here, and both were incredible experiences. The food is absolutely delicious and consistently impresses even the pickiest eaters. Every guest at my events raved about the quality and flavor of the dishes. The staff at Novita are friendly, professional, and incredibly attentive, going above and beyond to ensure all our needs were met seamlessly. Their attention to detail made the events run smoothly and stress-free. The restaurant also boasts a dedicated space for large groups, making it ideal for holiday parties or family celebrations. Its convenient location close to the highway and ample parking make it easy for guests to attend. If you’re looking for a venue that combines great food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere, Novita Italian Cuisine is the perfect choice. Highly recommended!
Went at 11:30am ish , we were the first customers in there. Ordered seafood platter and asked to sub mussels and salmon for extra of other items if possible and server said yes ( if he said no , we would of ordered other apps) the platter had extra salad and everything else was the same portion , paid 48$ for 3 shrimp and 2 tiny grilled calamari and 3 burned scallops . The shrimp and calamari did taste really good . After we got our main come in, we saw 4 other table walk in and that’s the last time we saw our server at our table . We got veggie ravioli and scallop and shrimp risotto. Ravioli was okay not the greatest , it was too al denta for us . Seafood risotto is the worse I had anywhere. Too salty and way too much cheese . We waited for the server to see if it can be remade but he never came by . Waited almost 30 mins . Ended up going to the front to pay when he came over . Didn’t ask if the food was good or anything . Asked if we want coffee and gave us the bill . Paid $138 for food we didn’t even eat . No manger in sight . Just the cook and one server I guess . Reviews on google seem good but didn’t live to the expectations for us . Maybe dinner time is better not sure . But definitely won’t be back
Food is very mediocre. Bruschetta was okay but very simple in flavour. The bread itself was good though. The pasta was overcooked, bland, and a bit soggy. Our server was very friendly, however the wait time for service is long and we had to ask multiple times for our drinks to be delivered. Price is cheap compared to other Italian restaurants.
We had the best service ever! I don't think there have been staff that were more attentive. The food was delicious and the desserts were great! Thank you for an amazing experience!
Vegetarian options: Veg ravioli was great Must try Food : 4/5 |
Thank you so much to Sandy for being so accommodating and coordinating for my daughter s baptism! The food, the atmosphere, and especially the service were all top notch. You helped make my daughter s day very special.
Are good restaurant, specially for its seafood
Caesar salad Linguine Al Pesce Food
Another dinner at Novita was another delicious experience. This time I enjoyed the fish of the day which was branzino fish with a beurre blanc sauce. I chose the angel hair pasta in oil and garlic. I have never been disappointed with my choice of food at Novita. Four of us enjoyed our latest visit to Novita. The service was very good as usual. The staff was very friendly and it was nice that chef came by to see if everything was as expected. I thoroughly enjoyed the blackened chicken with angel hair pasta! I also had the halibut for lunch earlier in the week. I love halibut and it was absolutely delicious. A definite recommendation. A great place to host a gathering for fine food.
My wife and I eat here at least monthly. It is one of our favourite restaurants, whether for a pizza with salad, or for their three course specials. Have never been disappointed. Best risotto I have ever had, and they are very generous with portions. All of their pastas are well presented and very tasty. Service staff are friendly and the owner Raj usually comes out to greet us as well. All in all an excellent experience every time.
Great food and the service was amazing.
Their fall menu with the Ossobuco simply cannot be missed. Just an amazing portion with the right amount of Sunday sauce to make it mouthwatering tasty. The risotto doesnt use aborio rice, but it was still very flavourful and again, the portion of it was great. Just solid overall value to be had at this great restaurant A huge improvement over my last meal there where I wasnt a fan of how they did their provimi veal chop. Im looking forward to what they come up with on their December menu.
Good lunch spot in Markham - pizza was very good.
Good restaurant with good Italian cuisine
A delightful restaurant for lunch or dinner. Perfect for large parties or for an intimate dinner. Great food choices, cocktails, wine and beers.
absolutely terrible service food tastes like it comes out of a can
Cardboard pizza, piece of plastic in my risotto.
I am super impressed!! I ordered Chicken Marsala. Wow!! We started with grilled Calamari also Wow!! Presentation..outstanding. I am coming back an maybe making my Friday go-to Oh and quantity on plate 11/10 Terri &Mark
We came here to celebrate a graduation group of 7. There were only about a handful of tables being used. We had one order of a grilled chicken breast with some rosted potatoes & salad. How horrible it was it was so plain and rubbery and absolutely no taste whatsoever! There was no colour to the dish, no sauce and no taste. Salad was a greek salad - so plain mainly leaves (not very fresh) with some dressing and no bacon or croutons on it. No presentation to the food at all. If I could give it a zero star I would. Other food was mediocre. We will not be coming here again for the amount of $$$ we paid not worth it at all. Very disappointing!
I rarely write reviews, but my experience at this restaurant demands attention its a TOTAL DISASTER. We chose this place to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, having previously enjoyed great food and service. However, the server (Ana. V) we encountered last night 9.28.2024 completely ruined our celebration. 1) She struggled for over a minute to open a bottle of sparkling wine, then had the audacity to tell my husband, I m scared. My husband then offered to uncork it himself. 2) When pouring the wine, she spilled a quarter of it outside the glass. Did she notice or offer to clean it up? Of course not. 3) Despite only managing a handful of tables, she brought us the wrong pizza. We were so hungry we ate it without realizing until ten minutes later when she casually informed us of her mistake and asked if we were okay with just taking it. This is not how you treat customers her error should not become our burden. 4) When we asked for the dessert menu, she immediately said she could recite the options instead of bringing us the menu. We wanted time to consider our choices, but her insistence led us to order desserts randomly without any thought. Additionally, she never asked if we needed anything else and we had to remind her for black pepper with our risotto, which should have been served automatically. Honestly this was supposed to be a memorable evening, but instead, it was a frustrating experience. I expected much better from a restaurant we had once enjoyed. TO THR OWNER OF THIS RESTAURANT - you may want to follow up with your staff if you really care about your business and customers.
Service was amazing. Food was only ok. Had a pizza, different kinds of salads, other pasta dishes too. Thats about all I want to say.
Awesome hearty food
Family friendly Italian spot with huge portions and amazing friendly service. The food has so much flavour - highly recommend! The homemade tiramisu is a must ! Vegetarian options: Very accommodating
Great place for some Chilean sea bass and even otherwise the food was good.
Absolute best Italian restaurant in Markham. Has authentic Italian food as well as the classics the staff are extremely friendly and does chef make gift you tiramisu on special occasions!
Excellent food and service
The service is good, place is clean and food is great, the food come in quickly, definitely will come back again!
The food is very delicious
Nothing to complain about, very good
Got the lunch special today, service and food was wonderful! Loved the Tiramisu!
Had an amazing dinner last night and Novita did not disappoint with the food and the service. I got the blackened salmon with mango salsa and mashed potatoes and veggies.
Went there for a reunion with ~30 ex colleagues on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn t crowded at all and we were the main group in there. There was a waiter and waitress served us and they were struggling a bit to keep up, but to be fair, our group was all over the place in socializing and not exactly easy to serve. For the food, depends on the choice, the feedbacks were not consistent. I had ordered the Linguine Al Formaggio Di Capra, it tasted good and just the right spicy for me, the shrimp was tender and not overcooked. A few of my colleagues ordered some special of the day that appears to be seafood (scallop & fish) Alfredo, the comments were more like Chinese noodle than Italian, not creamy enough . Overall, the portion was good but the cost were pricy.
The food was pretty good and very reasonably priced. Lots of flavor, good portion sizes and very tasty. The service was exceptional. Our server (I didnt catch her name but was working Saturday evening with blonde hair) was ON TOP OF IT. Oil/balsamic running low? A replacement showed up. Drinks running low? She noticed from far and brought us refills. Super friendly, approachable but we never needed to get her attention, because she was always paying attention. Kudos to the team at Novita, we will be back for sure. Some of the best service Ive had at a restaurant in years.
Simply good food and good ambience
This was hands down the most disgusting place I ha e ever been to. We were 6 people, none of our dishes were edible. Just awful. Prices are insane. Waiter was nice and friendly. Food was really really really bad. The place is pretty bad looking, light was flickering, bathroom was nasty. Places like this shouldnt exist. They also added tip in the bill without warning.
Great meal out, quick and lovely service by our waitress, very jokey and friendly. Couldn t recommend enough
I loved everything about this place. The service was exceptional. Our server went above and beyond in helping us with our orders. The only downside to this place was that the background music was a bit too loud. I will still recommend this place if you want something different.
We came to dinner at 7:30 in the afternoon, the restaurant was empty. We asked for food.. After five minutes, the restaurant worker comes to us, when do you leave? And she go and come back? The manager says when are you done? This is all and the food didnt come. She repeated this 6 times. Until I asked her, please, when the food comes give it in a box. I hated this abhorrent restaurant. It s not a restaurant.. it s a joke.
On July 8, 2024. I was with my family choosing this restaurant for a family dinner. Food quality not too bad, but my steak was over cooked. The customer service that we received from the waiter was unwelcome and unprofessional. During the dinner time, he continually to deliver a message to my 4 years old daughter about need to stay and wash dishes, this attitude causing my daughter end up crying and need to leave the restaurant. Even we try to be polite and deliver a message to waiter better to stop saying that but he didn t. Every time when are we looking for service, he just ignore us until another waitress call him for it. Nearly to the end of dinner, without we ask for the bill, he already holding the bill and keep walking around us and try to deliver a message to us you better get hurry to pay and get out here. While am I using the machine to pay the bill he keeps peeking what am I going to pay for his tips. While are we leaving not even say goodbye or wish you for come again. We feels this restaurant don t want any business and never wants the business return. The terrible customer service that we received will never come again
Its my first time here, and it surprised me that the food and service were both top notch.
Nice place for family or friends gathering dine in. Parking: Lots of parking area during the week days. Food : 5/5 |
I was craving mussels and got my fill here. They were a little gritty at times but I enjoyed them nonetheless. Also tried the beet salad, so good and super full, I couldnt finish it, it was large. I will return for risotto or pasta mmm
Perhaps my taste buds was off that day I had lunch! I was disappointed! Normally I enjoy Italian food!! The portions were small were they trying to put me on a diet?! The prices were expensive!! Server was pleasant. Food
Not a fancy place. Catered more for larger groups.
I love the food . I tried pasta,it was really good .
We ordered takeout, and thankfully, the order wasnt large because I would have been even more disappointed. The pizza tastes just like the ones from fast food chains, but you end up paying twice as much. The tiramisu tastes like its from a grocery store, and they top it with a drip of store-bought chocolate why? Id suggest they remove Italian cuisine from their billboard.
The food is reaaaally good and the value you get fir the money you spend is incomparable. I have had people coming over and say this is the best pasta I have ever had Food
We did our sons confirmation party here and everything was great. Thanks Raj
Food was great, had a salad and chicken pasta! enjoyed the atmosphere spacious and roomy. liked how they had gluten free pasta.
I had the seafood pasta and it was delish! And the portion was huge! The service was very good, and the prices for the amount and quality of food was exceptionally fair.
I recently had a baby shower at this restaurant and there s no words to express how amazing the food and service was. Staff, especially Raj are wonderful. Great experience and all my guests are still telling me how much they enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Very fairly priced and will definitely be returning for other occasions. Thank you for everything Raj.
The food wasn t what I expected. The rack of lamb came out cut into lollipop sizes ( small pieces of meat at the top of the bone) it was so fatty I ate what I could the sauce of the lamb was great. The portion of mashed potato was not even a child s serving size I ve attached a picture. They should have just left it off the plate. The margarita pizza came with slices of tomatoes ( never had one like that) my husband compared it to play place pizza. The atmosphere was nice. The front host was nice. Kid-friendliness: The have booster seats
I have special dietary restrictions and was very precise and clear about my order. Still, they totally screwed it up and I waited a good 20 minutes before they brought a new correct plate of food. I m the meantime, my companion s food was stone called because he didn t want to eat without me. Uggh he ate cold fish. When the owner came to our terrible to ask how everything was (after we had finished eating), we told him what happened and all he did was say I m sorry . No complimentary coffee, dessert or anything. In fact, I was surprised that he didn t know of the complete mishap at our table. After all, it wasn t that busy. Sunday April 12th /Mothers Day I had been a frequent customer at Novita Italian Restaurant until my list visit (hence above review) in which I was utterly disappointed. However, I decided to give it another chance as every business has an off night. I took my 90 year old mother and my son to Novita for mothers day and prayed to the restaurant Gods that our experience would be memorable in a good way! Well, let me tell you, to my surprise, it surpassed my wishes. Sandy , our waitress was both delightful, and reassuring that our meals would be more than up to par! She actually thanked me for giving Novita another go. My mother and son both ordered their wood fire oven pizzas and they looked scrumptious. They were a nice size and loaded with toppings of their choice. My son who had just came back from Italy, commented that the sauce was excellent and he could really taste the basil. His only request to improve the pizza was more cheese! My own meal unfortunately, once again was not done according to specifications. However, they redeemed themselves when they brought it back within moments to the way I ordered it. I ordered scallops which were not exactly on their menu. They made a special dish for me. It was cooked to perfection! The scallops were moist and not overcooked (not an easy task to do on a very busy day) and the veggies were fresh with a nice crunch to them. Sandy went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. I dont know if she is the manager, but she should be! I will definitely put Novita back on my list of go to restaurants. Michelle
My husband and I enjoyed a relaxing dinner tonight. Started with fresh bread and olive oil/balsamic dip. Then grilled calamari served with balsamic reduction, Sicilian black olives, mixed greens and peppers. Then ravioli (chicken in rose for him and vegetarian in tomato sauce for me). Absolutely divine! We will be back! Vegetarian options: Ravioli was great Dietary restrictions: Option for vegetarian
Went here for a birthday celebration and it did not disappoint. The customer service was outstanding! The food was delicious. A great place for family and special events.
We were a big group and wanted to pay separately and the servers were really friendly and patient with us. Food was good. Especially the mixed grill seafood was very delicious and tasted and smelled nice. Recommended dishes
excellent service; chef actually came and chatted w us on food standards only thing to be improved is the tight seating space we have the dinner special excellent appetizer lobster bisque and the mussel ; bolognese is good; all dishes r generous in portion and a reasonable prize the seafood linguini is always one of the best u must try the signature - tiramisu for sure a good place for all kinds of gathering their lamb and calamari are good too as their signature i tried some time ago one of my favorite italian places
Pleasantly surprised by this restaurant and will definitely come back. We had a group dinner (11 people) and chose this based on someones recommendation - great choice. There was monthly special for a 3 course set menu which all but 2 of us had. Everyone highly praised their meal and the price was very reasonable with generous portions. The two of us (including me) who ordered individual entrees also liked our choices. Overall the atmosphere was good, easy to get reservations and lots of menu choices (much more than most Italian restaurants). Highly recommended!
Ate there around 5:00pm on a Friday night. We were the only ones there. Ordered the stuffed chicken and salmon dishes. The main dishes were very good and tasty. Great side dish of veggies! They give you bread with oil and balsamic vinegar in a dish. The bread was just ok....not warm and kinda plain. Service was just ok too. Music was a little loud but maybe thats because we were the only patrons there and there was no other background noise. Id definitely eat there again. Prices are reasonable too.
We had a lunch with my colleagues today and it was completely failed because of the unappropriated service and low quality food. The waiter was very pushy and a bit of aggressive, The food wasn t Italian at all, for example mushroom risotto was an overcooked rice , and mushrooms were with the sand(( Honestly, this place is overpriced and low quality. Unfortunately.
Though the place was very busy, the service was excellent. Food quality and presentation was great. Lot of choices on the menu. The free bread with olive oil was a nice touch before starting the meal. Pricing is very reasonable. I loved the Risotto dishes.
Servers were friendly and the restaurant was spacious! However, the food was mediocre, nothing stood out. Taste did not match the prices.
Big portions, the Antipasto appetizer was very satisfying for two people.
Mediocre food. Nothing special; however, I really enjoyed the tiramusu cake. Parking: Plenty of free parking available. Food : 4/5 |
Incredible service by the waiter Arthur and nice dishes from chef!
The food and service was good. The egg plant Parmigiano as appetizer was good. Fried Calamari was just ok. The bread and oil was not as good as expected. The Tiramisu was disappointing. Chicken Marsala was just OK. The service was fast and we could spend quality time without being disturbed, until closing. The portion size was very good. Would recommend.
Nice place. Love the lobster.
Service and atmosphere were honestly the best part. The food is mediocre at best and the quality is just not there. Not worth the price in my opinion Everything from appetizers to desserts was underwhelming. I got the tiramisu and it isnt even real tiramisu. Its a tiramisu flavored cake, with no lady fingers whatsoever. It looks and tastes like it was store bought. The chicken in my pasta also tasted like it was from those pre-packed cooked sliced chicken packets youd buy at the grocery store. Would not recommend this place unfortunately
Went for dinner. Prices are high. Parking: Convenient Food : 5/5 |
Would come here on date and with Friends too, only if their interested. Good and hear by too.
Restaurant was empty and the two tables given to us were dirty; bathrooms were not cleaned. We left the restaurant so we didnt try the food because if the front is on that what, cant imagine how is the kitchen.
I hosted my partners 50th birthday party on Sat Feb 17, 2024. Everything was perfect, from the time I called in to book with Raj. Our dedicated servers were Sandy and Marina, and they were so professional and personable. They made our section very intimate. The food was amazing and I received so many compliments from my guests and they have told me they will be coming back to Novita, for the service, the ambience and the food. Thank you Raj and team for making this a memorable birthday celebration. We will definitely see you again very soon! Samantha Parking: n/a Kid-friendliness: n/a
First time here. The very first time we tried to eat in this restaurant, it was some sort of all you can eat stir fry place. but I wasnt sure if it was actually Novita back then. Im glad you came back again to give it a try. It is NOT an all you can eat stir fry. Instead, it is a delightful a la carte restaurant. They have a three-course meal for $40. I had the Duck breast. And she had the Lamb chop with spaghetti. The spaghetti was cooked al dente to perfection. The lamb chop was cooked well and the meat was falling off the bone. The duck breast was good but nothing exciting. Will come back
This place seems to be running off of old ratings. New ownership and chefs perhaps have made it worse - the food is not very good and the atmosphere is strip-mall diner.
atmosphere and service wasnt bad, though the waitress got our order wrong. food is definitely not traditional italian cuisine. i was very disappointed with the pizza i ordered, it was bland and tasted nothing like italian pizza ive had. i genuinely think that pizza ive had from dominoes was better that what i got. pasta was also overcooked and sauces tasted store bought. i ordered an angel hair and it was mushy. overall, i couldve made the same dishes at home. not worth it for the price
Very good pasta with levels of flavor. Portions are good. Grilled foods can be less burnt. Good atmosphere for special celebration.
We were a group of 37. We had made a mistake in reservations. We wanted to come here but a colleague book a similar named restaurant. It was busy but they still accommodated us. Being the holiday season that s a tough ask. Essentially a walk in of 37. They took us in. Made us feel at home. We got our appetizers quickly despite another large party ahead of us to be served main courses. The staff worked well together. Kitchen team was super fast and on the ball. Food came out hot, all together. Food was excellent. We made it worth their while as a Thank You for accommodating us. Owner came out to introduce himself and check on our experience. They have a hospitable welcoming environment. Food was great. We will be back and definitely recommend Novita Italian Cuisine.
Food and wait staff were amazing thank you and definitely will be back.
Novita is a long time favourite for our entire family. Weve celebrated many occasions there and weve had them cater functions as well (we always receive rave reviews from our guests). The food is exquisite, a diverse menu, value is unquestionable and the owner, Raj, is a true gem...always makes you feel at home! Raj is an amazing chef, a master with sauces. His Chilean sea bass melts in your mouth - a must try! We dine out at many top spots in downtown Toronto and Novitas food flavours are on par and even surpass some of them! Highly recommend! Support a great little restaurant, you wont be disappointed!
This place used to be better. I found long wait times now for food to arrive. Expensive prices for wine bottles that are not a top shelf product. The vibe of the restaurant does not meet the menu prices Parking: Parking near the restaurant on the same plaza
Good for friends and families gathering, good food good atmosphere!
The service and Food was great and worth the price. However, we ordered the Grilled Calamari and unfortunately the squid quill or pen left in and made the eating experience not so great.
We had my Mom s 60th bday party here and it was a great experience. The staff was very friendly and the food was great too. Though we had a set menu due to having 20 people the options provided were still great. The Tiramisu for dessert was definitely the highlight. Will be back to try the rest of the menu :)
First time trying this place, Very mediocre overall, in terms of food quality.. Portions are large and filling, but all items were bland, cold, and/or undercooked. Unfortunately, the menu has alot of options, and mossing any flavour!
Service is good and nice atmosphere. Food is good especially the mixed grilled seafood appetizer platter. Price is decent.
First and last visit unfortunately. I read the positive reviews and we chose this place to visit for the first time based on the reviews. This is why i am writing this one. Thursday evening dinner. At 6:30, this large space was approx. 10% full. A few tables only. We were seated and forgotten. I waved down someone after about 20 minutes of waiting. Can we order a cocktail, please? An Italian restaurant should know how to make an Aperol Spritz. When explained that it was syrupy sweet, we were told it was made correctly and thats how it should be. My Moscow Mule was served in a clear glass. Don t offer the cocktail if it can t be served correctly. Cocktails are $15. We chose the dinner price fix menu. Proteins were just ok . Sides were barely cooked. Unedible. Desserts - i believe the italian classic, a cannoli, was inedible and i think they plopped down cottage cheese as the filling. It could not have been ricotta or marscapone. The panna cotta- hard pass! It s cream and gelatin. That is all. The tiramisu is made in-house and the best dessert there. Our server sympathized with us. We all work hard and going out for dinner is a treat. The menu is extensive and sounds great. What you are served is not even plated to be appetizing. Thats a real review. I hesitated to write this but we were told that the Manager didn t welcome feedback. So, this is written here to anyone else reading the reviews and wondering if they should visit. Please do better. Or perhaps reopen as something other than an Italian restaurant. That s not my concern. What is concerning is that a Thursday night should have your restaurant humming. It was 90% empty.
Lobster risotto was filling and delicious. Panna cotta and double espresso was tasty as well. There is a huge menu of appetizers, pizza and pasta as well as patio dining as well.
First time here, both food and portion are good with reasonable price, service is excellent.
Holyyyyy!!! The Best Meal I think I have ever had. (No joke) I got the blackened chicken and it was out of this world.. Owner has a heart of gold. They were closing up shop and Raj let us sit down and enjoy. And we did! Thank you so much! We will be back for more!
I ordered salad with chicken on side, have no idea what was on chicken it was so bitter that couldnt eat my salad, I told them but they charged me for salad too . They offered me new food but the bitterness ruined my taste buds.
A hidden gem. Very very reasonable price for their quality of food and service.
Very delicious food and amazing service..
Went for dinner with my wife and ordered their monthly special $43 three course meal. Mussels and soup is excellent. Wife ordered the chicken pene Pasta, I ordered the steak. Generous servings. For dessert wife ordered the cheesecake which is $7 extra . It was worth it. I got the tiramisu not good and not bad either. Server was friendly and attentive. I will come back for sure
I am not really a fan of the food served by Novita. I was really disappointed by what was served. The cold cuts and the cheese on the antipasto platter had the same quality as those purchased from the supermarkets. The gnocchi was mushy drowned in a cream based tomato sauce. The pizza was just okay. The rack of lamb was good especially the fried potato. Our server on the other hand was efficient, even though we were the only table sitting outside, she did not forget us.
Good food, good price, good service. Better deal @ lunch than dinner
Great staff but food was very mediocre
The food was very good but they were a little bit late
Excellent food tasty rack of lamb desserts waiter was a bit tired but enjoyed the food in April. Famikynof 4 we visited as a family . Appetizers great
The food didn t look appealing at all the pasta was runny and tasteless the customer service was great but the food was not. It s to expensive for food this poor tasting the portion sizes are great though.
Great Italian cuisine
Our waitress was amazing & the food was great, in particular, the Mushroom Risotto..so good!
What can I say I have crossed by this place many times and never entered. Today after looking at a video I was recommended to give it a try. The customer service us top notch and the owner truly is amazing. We had a small problem and he explained everything. The food is truly good and the pina colada they made was truly sweet with the right blend of alchol. The pasta was cream and delicious and was amazing. Anybody who has crossed by here and havent given this place a trying truly try there pasta.
Great food and very efficient service. Large groups tended to be very noisy. Not ideal atmosphere for quiet dining. Overall would recommend Novita for an excellent meal.
I d like to preface by saying this is the first time I ve felt the need to write a review of a restaurant online and I am a very lenient customer, even in the face of negative experiences. I usually walk away and brush off a personally bad dining experience, but not this time. What prompted me to write this was the fact that my mother and I were harassed by who I assume is the owner or manager as we were leaving (he made no formal introduction). He was aggravated because my mother sent her risotto dish back and declined to pay for just the risotto (rightfully so). He started off by rambling indirectly near us as we were walking towards the doors. He was very hard to understand, until I picked up the words you didn t pay! As he continued to ramble and point to the kitchen. I was APPALLED. My mother and I have never been belligerently approached by an owner/manager before (again ASSUMING this is who it was). Shame on this man. I immediately responded loudly Are you complaining to your customers?! And my mother noted she would be contacting the health department, as we walked off. For context, we walked into a nearly empty restaurant on a Thursday night between 9:40-9:45 PM. My mother ordered the calamari (subpar, she noted, and served with a side of mayo, unusual dipping sauce). She ordered a risotto main and I ordered a pasta dish. My pasta was cold and subpar at best. My mother had to send back her risotto main after a couple of bites. In her words, I ve never had risotto like this, it tastes and feels like they mashed this in a blender . She noted that the flavour and consistency was awful and simply couldn t continue to eat it. She felt immediately sick. We let our server know, who took it back after attempting to see if my mother would prefer to order something else. My mother declined to order anything else altogether. When we requested the bill, they did not take off the risotto (this is just poor customer service). We noted this to our server, who came back with a new bill minus the risotto. To conclude, bad food and atrocious customer service from supposed management. I feel sorry for the employees who work for this rude man. I took a deep dive into this restaurant s prior reviews and am surprised by its positive ones. The negative ones sound very similar to our experience, so I m led to believe most of their positive reviews must be fake. How this place managed to get a 4.2 here and 3.5 (this one makes more sense) on Yelp is beyond me. I wouldn t recommend this place to my worst enemy.
We went to this place with high expectations due to seemingly great reviews and pictures. I have to say that I am unfortunately disappointed. The food was very mediocre if not bad for its price point. The Ravioli Pollo we ordered had a rosé sauce that was much too strong with a lingering and bitter taste of alcohol. The Red Pesto Linguine was also mediocre, nothing special to it. The give complementary bread and the service is great but for the prices, I would never come back.
First time dining here and we will come back to try again. The lobster bisque was phenomenal, my partner and I both really enjoyed it. My partner ordered the lobster risotto and it was excellent, just the right balance of flavor and creaminess that complimented the lobster. I ordered the boneless chicken with risotto and it was a little too salty for my taste. Luckily, the chef was kind enough to remake it and it was great. We will definitely come back for more. Thank you Amy for being our kind and attentive server.
This place was pretty quiet for a weekend. Service was very slow, despite there not many tables to service. Between ordering drinks to actually getting our drinks took more than 45 mins. Between ordering food and getting it took more than 90 mins. Seafood Risotto ($3x) should be a straightforward dish... I was disappointed when i got it. It looks like a bowl of brown congee without plating.... Dont think I will be going back to this place.
Dietary restrictions: My daughter is siliac and special dishes were made for her and she lived them. Food
I visited Novita on Sat (July 29th) as birthday party guest in their semi-private area. This visit was my first. I took nothing but great things away from the experience. The food selected by our hosts was wonderful and PLENTIFUL (the apps kept coming and coming before the main course!). All the dishes came out fresh and hot. For our main course - I had the halibut, my husband had the steak and our kids had the pizza. No complaints all around. However, besides the food - it was the service that Id like to highlight. Jennifer & Sandy were absolutely amazing, along with the gentleman was who was helping them serve. They were never hard to find because they were always checking in on each table and making sure every guest (approx 35-40ppl) was taken care of. In addition, the chef came by (not surprisingly) to ensure everyone was enjoying their food. Overall, my first experience was a great one. I look forward to visiting again.
CANNOT SAY ANY MORE OTHER THAN IT WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS.....my second time and I will go back for sure Vegetarian options: Love the fact there is no cross contamination
Really sorry for my review because the waitress was very nice. Unfortunately we come from France and the pizza dough was really cardboard (perhaps we are used to softer dough) The setting is nice but really disappointed by this so-called Italian restaurant
The place is very up market. Food is not too expensive. The quality and taste was good. Service was quick and you can hang out with friends for a while. Seating is very comfortable. You could book the place for birthday parties and special occasions.
The chefs talk about you publicly in their language so loud that you can hear, the female waiter is rude. Management is poor Service
We hosted our family and friends for our son s birthday and the food and service did not disappoint. Raj, the owner and head chef was amazing to deal with and made sure the food was not only tasty but bountiful. Our guests could not stop complimenting the food. The service by Sandy, Jennifer and Artur was just excellent. Thank you for a wonderful celebration.
Service was the best part. Generous portion size. But the food is mediocre at best. I dont even know how to discribe the taste of each dish. Just salty. I couldnt even taste the spices in the food. Tomato sauce doesnt have any tomato taste. They look ok but they dont taste right.
good atmosphere and good service
Food was delicious and very affordable. Chicken parmesan with penne was amaaazing
Atmosphere and service was amazing but seafood here is not fresh at all! Definitely frozen. I ordered steam mussels & lobster pasta, even though the taste and decoration overall was amazing but since the seafood not fresh, its destroy everything. I understand that maybe they buy frozen seafood to save cost since their price is reasonable but its will decrease Italian s food standard expectations. We go there around 4:30 and literally nobody in the restaurant, not sure if its because its not the rush hours or because the food quality not meet the expectation. We will definitely not come back. My fiance was having the beetroot salad and he say its not tasty either. We do love soup of the day ( mushroom soup ). The bread also was serve cold. Overall experience: 5/10 Parking: A lot of free parking spot near by ímince its a mall
Ordered Uber Eats. The blackened salmon was the smallest portion of fish I ever recieved from a resturant, what a joke, I got ripped off hard. The halibut was dry. The mash potatoes tasted sour for some reason. Not worth the price at all. Shrinkflation to the max here at this resutrant. I really hope you go out of business soon for ripping me off like that.
I didnt dine in. I got takeout but stuff was very friendly, Helpful, fast and efficient. Definitely would go here again to dine in. The food itself was very authentic and delicious. 10 out of 10 for the food
Went on a late Sunday evening around 8pm. Not a lot of customers at that time. Server was nice and attentive. The booth are not the most spacious but comfortable. My daughter particularly liked the Gnocchi. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu available
great pasta. service was good but slow...maybe because we went on a Saturday evening. will definitely go back
Loved everything about this place. Had the Crab Carbanara, it was awesome. You WONT be disappointed. Food : 5/5
Nice change from Fire and Ice and the Mongolian Grill.
Food was so so. Service was extremely poor, 1 staff service the entire floor at lunch hour. He was super busy. It is a bad experience.
First time here as we wanted to try Italian Restaurant. We order the specials for 45 includes 3 courses. I got the Atlantic Cod which was decent, lobster bisque was okay but didn t have any small pieces of lobster and tiramisu dessert. The best part as the appetizer mushroom. The service was very good.
Celebrated a birthday dinner here. Like everyone else said, portion size great, food was good - everyone enjoyed it. Large selection. Our server (didn t catch his name, lots of jokes lol) was fantastic. I recommend this place for large groups, and when you re in the mood for Italian. I d def come back.
Good service, regrettable food
Always an awesome visit. Great food, ambience and service. Sandy is an excellent representative of Novita. Very engaging and attentive. Steve Upton Sandi Ruffo Parking: Nothing more to be said.
Visit: October 2023 The staff was very kind and friendly. The food was great, high quality, and tasted amazing and at a reasonable price. Only issue I had with service was at the end, we wanted to split the bill. It was all on one bill, and the waiter had us calculate the split cost ourselves (gratuity was also included as our party size was 7 adults and 2 kids). It didnt make sense to me how they didnt have a system in place to split the bills
Food
Great taste, the menu has good variety, and large portions.
Meh, food was not what I had in mind, tomatoe sauce was canned and basically I could have done at home a pretty similar meal 1/3 of the cost of what we paid here. Not going there again for sure
The place is amazing with amazing food. Sandy is amazing and so friendly and she caters to people with such a jolly attitude.
Great time spent this evening!! Sandy was so friendly and helpful throughout. Amazing food as well. Food : 5/5
Food was mediocre at best and the service was slow. Our waiter was impolite and kept leaving our table in a rush, even though the restaurant was not busy. On top of that there was plastic wrapper in my food. However the Alfredo was good.
I ordered a delicious meal for two through uber eats, I ordered the rack of lamb and the 12 oz steak. I also tried to make an adjustment for theyre dessert tiramisu but they couldnt add it on So they threw it in for free for me. The service and the food is quite amazing. I absolutely loved it and will definitely be back. You have to try the rack of lambs, it is so delicious. Thank you again.
This is a mid range restaurant, hence all things considered we were happy with the food, service and price. The beet goat cheese salad was good. Main courses were good. Food is decent enough and service was quick. Would come back.
Food was quite good! We had the chicken cacciatore and Novita Club sandwich. Also, the PEI mussels app. The mussels were small but tasty with the cheese and spices. I had a green salad with my sandwich and it was pleasantly tangy and nicely dressed. Service and ambiance were ok. Based on the food, we would definitely come back.
with the price tag, the food should be better...
Food was good for the most part. We shared grilled calamari and the chicken pizza and a couple of glasses of wine. Both entres were good but not great. We had to wait 25 minutes before anyone even came to the table. Soon after, an over whelmed servicer came and took us on but said she has a big party table and cant tend to us. She was very kind and apologetic. When our food was ready, the cook came and served us himself. Thank you to both for their efforts
I ve been here twice. Both times I ve fallen in loved. Best risotto I ve ever had in my life! 10/10 would recommend the food, the aesthetic needs an upgrade for sure however we re there to eat, not for pics!
Food is good.
I would leave 0 stars if I could. Worst dining experience in Toronto.
Its a little ridiculous how this place would charge you $10 for water without telling you ahead of time
We were celebrating our anniversary. But a lot of us ended up getting an upset stomach.
Worst dining experience Ive had. Service was OK but the server had no idea what was in their dishes. The food was awful- Im not a picky person, and can usually stomach anything but one taste of this places food and I felt like I was going to throw up. The Caesar salad was barely edible, was drowned in sardine flavour and black pepper, barely anything else. The croutons were overbaked and tasted stale. The Shrimp and Scallop dishs scallop was incorrectly cooked, tough and rubbery, and the rosé sauce was not made correctly, the tomatoes used were not properly cooked and threw off the whole dish. Their alfredo didnt even taste like alfredo- one bite, and I lost my entire appetite. The alfredo is only made up of butter, cream, and cheese. How do you mess that up? They added too much cream, leaving a awful oily stale milk taste in your mouth. It tastes as if they completely ignored added cheese and butter, making me feel like I needed to gag the second I tried it. The sauce of the pasta all sat at the bottom of the dish. The chicken was tough, bland, and just overall gross. The items in it all slightly separating from one another. My sister tried to stomach it as well, and almost wanted to cry from just trying to keep eating it. It was disgusting and so very dissapointing. Never coming here again, I almost threw up.
I am, admittedly, a very tough customer when it comes to food. Particularly fish. Ive been here a number of times and every time the food has been excellent. The grilled calamari is out of this world, the muscles are tremendous, and I have never had anything that wasnt top-notch. Today was what I would consider the ultimate Test - I ordered the Halibut with mango kiwi white wine sauce, and asked if it could be cooked medium rare. It was truly one of the best dishes I have ever eaten, and the cook on it was perfection. Kudos to the kitchen, youve won this tough critics endorsement!
Good is great, especially the Risotto
Venue was understaffed but food was excellent!
The place is italian cuisine but there was no italian chef. The appetizers were good but for the entrees, some of the group had burnt chicken, or cold dishes, which is not expected when you have a big group. The place seemed understaffed which either forgot some items or slow service. I wouldnt be recommending unless some things change.
unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. The establishment appeared to be unclean, with cooks not using gloves and touching food with bare hands. Additionally, we discovered hair in our food, the washroom was filthy and emitted a strong urine smell, and the pizza quality was subpar. Overall, it was not a satisfactory visit.
An impressive menu, a nice venue, good service. Prices are not cheap but typical for an Italian eatery. My salad was fine, the bread was a little stale and tasteless, the veal pasta was boring and bland. Get a real chef folks.
Went there for office Christmas party, the food and service was great, i ordered a steak and it was cooked perfectly as I asked. I find the sides are a little small but it could be because it was a set menu. I will definitely go back and try in my own to see how it is and will try some authentic Italian dishes
Have come here 3 times and have loved the gnocci and margherita pizza dishes! Amazing service as well :)
Server is alright not spectacular. But food is awful only thing we enjoyed was the shrimp appetizer. The lobster linguine has just to much going on and they put LIME in their chicken picatta. Would be back over priced and not good food or quality at all.
Very disappointing experience. We had made a reservation for lunch days in advance for a group of coworkers, but on the day of the lunch they did not have a table for us. We waited over 20 minutes but there was no host and no one helping with seating. Finally a server showed and we asked him for a table and he said they didnt have any despite our reservation. So we ended up going elsewhere. We saw other groups that were just as frustrated with the experience and were leaving without being served. The whole system was very poorly managed.
Highly recommended! Excellent food (especially the Lobster Risotto) and fabulous service!
DO NOT TAKE A LARGE GROUP HERE! We arrived well before our lunch reservation to a gong show in the front entrance. They didnt have online reservations held and despite our confirmation they couldnt take us. We were not the only groups. At least 4 groups of 7-15 people stood in the lobby having to scramble to find other restaurants who could take them. We spent 25 minutes at the host stand and finally left to Moxys who make room for us. This was an important client lunch and was completely unacceptable. As we left we heard one poor group of 13, who also had a reservation, that they could sit but would have to be gone from their table in 40 minutes. They then asked are you going to deliver our food in 10 minutes?. Avoid this restaurant for groups!
weve been coming here for our anniversary for 3 years. the service is always great, drinks are delicious, and the ravioli is amazing. highly recommend
Enjoyed a weekend lunch. Everything was great!
First time coming here and the atmosphere coming in was decent. Did come in on a quiet day so the restaurant was quite empty. Service was nice and decent but it wasn t anything special. The negative would be the food. I m not sure about the other meals but the meal I had wasn t that great. The chicken was dry and the food really lacked in flavour, essentially kind of blend. The pizza was also mediocre and lacked flavour as well. Overall, this place is mediocre at best in terms of food. I would say it is not worth the price.
