Amazing food

First time trying from Ajisen and didn t disappoint. Portions were good, fast service. No complaints!

Got the vegan bowl and it was not good. It was just rice, spring mix, mayo, and a beyond burger patty split in half. Its nice that they offer vegan options but the execution was awful.

They have a variety of menu items, and you can customize your broth with any menu item. I had the tonkatsu ramen, but the tonkatsu was pretty dry. Recommend the black garlic broth.

One of the best Ramen place.

The food is great, better than its counterparts in Hong Kong, I used to think Ajisen ramen is bad and I was so tired and hungry so I got in. But this experie surprised me and I was happy after the meal.

Not too busy when we went there on a weekday at around 5pm. The staff are really friendly and the food was delicious Vegetarian options: They have meatless ramen options and also vegetarian broths

I like the Ajisen spicy ramen they have. Their broth is flavorful, although it is recommended to order extra noodles or side dish, because the portions maybe too little for some people. I like the fact that the broth tastes spicy, and how they can provide bird s eye chilli there . If you like spicy foods , I recommend getting the Ajisen spicy and biting birds eye chilli. I ate 2.5 and I was in hellish heaven P.s. I think the takoyaki is good, but nothing special. Just good ol takoyaki.

I dined here back in October 2019 when my friend treated me for lunch on my birthday. I cant remember what I had, but it was a great experience as it was my first time trying Ramen.

Service is okay. MSG soups, food and price are acceptable .

I liked the spicy chicken ramen that we ordered we also ordered pork gyoza texture was crunchy and good to eat. One thing that we didn t really liked was steak teriyaki rice sets. To us steak was chewy and taste was very divergent.

Nice renos, amazing food

I have been eating at this restaurant for several years when I travel from Quebec to Toronto. I can eat there 5 to 10 times during my week-long stay and the flavors from year to year are always there, the service is fast, the decoration has been recently redone and the owner treats these customers very carefully and is not afraid to help the staff in place to ensure smooth service, very small restaurant but the service is so fast that You can eat there in less than 15 minutes and be ready to go.

The ramen was tasty and consistent with their other locations. The staff are not Japanese, in case youre interested in that information. Food : 5/5

I don t like this location. Dirty place, dirty cutlery, dirty drinking water and we waited an hour for food. People who came 40 minutes after us got served before us. They didn t even apologize. Go to a different location.

Excellent service and tasty food

This is the best location weve found. They just make the food better than they do at other locations. I dont know how or why. There is plenty of parking. If you cant get a spot out front, theres a ton of parking behind it. Its busy but we have never had to wait for a table. Im not sure if weve just avoided peak times. The service is excellent. Its a chain, but it feels like a mom and pop shop at this location. I think thats why the food abs service is so good. Kid-friendliness: We brought our newborn. They were helpful in getting her comfortable.

This is place to ramen is what McDonalds is to burgers. Its accessible, and inoffensive. This kind of place is the defacto safe place so bring your friends if they might not like more traditional ramen. Otherwise places like kinton, santouka ramen are much better.

I was staying at the Delta hotel in Markham, Ontario and ordered a Shoyu sliced pork ramen via Uber eats from Ajisen Ramen. I ordered around 10:00pm and it was delivered in about 20 minutes, which was great. When I picked it up in the lobby and got back to my room, I noticed there was no utensils. I was pretty mad about this and called the restaurant and asked why they didn t include utensils. They explained when you order via Uber eats, you need to state include utensils. So this issue was not the restaurants fault. Then I went to the front desk of the hotel and explained what happened and asked if they had utensils. They had some bamboo utensils and gave me a fork and spoon. If you take a look at the two pictures of the fork and spoon, you will see the spoon is flat, so you cannot eat soup with it. Apart from this mess with utensils, the ramen was really good. I ate all the noodles with the fork, but had to drink the ramen from the bowl, so it was not an enjoyable experience. I don t have any complaints about the ramen and I d order it again. However, I d make sure to request utensils from whatever delivery service I was using. The price was very reasonable for $21 CAD

I recently came back on a late thursday night with a friend after a session of badminton. It was one of the only places around that was still open. I was initially reluctant because my previous experiences at this resto made me think that Ajisen as a franchise was just ok overall. Steak teppanyaki: Was actually cooked medium rare! The end pieces were still a lil tough due to the cut and quality of the beef prolly not being the greatest but it was juicy and I got my protein in. Black garlic tender pork ribs ramen: So you can change your broth at Ajisen which is pretty cool. This was supposed to come w/ the original broth but I asked to swap for black garlic tonkotsu broth. The noodles were surprisingly firmer compared to my previous visits and the broth actually came out piping hot as opposed to lukewarm. Idk if they just hired new/better chefs in the back or if late night is when they serve the best grub. Either way, I received significantly better food than the last couple times I visited this place way back. The other thing I really liked was the tableside fried garlic that you could top up your bowl with. I literally unscrewed the lid and emptied out a third of the fried garlics into my bowl. SOOO GOOD. Although it was an improved experience, I still dont think the ramen is better than an authentic ramen spot. For that, I award 3.5 stars.

Visited during the week for lunch. Awesome menu options and the filet mignon ramen is fantastic. Great portion and tastes great. Pan fried gyoza are done perfectly. Fries with Japanese curry makes for a good side with a twist. Will definitely visit again.

I ve never left any bad reviews on google but today was pretty eye opening. Went with my friend today because of the 50% off deal, literally the first time here in Ajisen Toronto branch. I got there at 6:45 pm left my name and phone number at the cashier and was told that the wait time was 30-45 mins. The manager told me not the leave the restaurant but the wait time was long and I was waiting for my friend to park so I left the restaurant. Once my friend got here, I told him about the wait time and we walked to the plaza behind it for a walk to kill time. 20 mins later, we went back and I walked to the cashier to check the waitlist. The waitlist was gone so I asked the manager about it. He didn t even check the list and he questioned me saying Did I not tell you not to leave the place? And gave me an attitude which left me very confused if I made a mistake here! I mean he did tell me not to leave the restaurant but the waitlist was long and he got my number so if anything he could call me. I did not see a problem why couldn t I ask for the list as well. He then told me not to leave the restaurant and told me to wait at the door but my friend was still outside so I tried to go and grab him at the door. When I opened the door, the manager called me out across the room telling me not to leave, but I was just attempting to grab my friend. Plus after such super questionable hospitality, I didn t even want to dine here. But my friend and I came here for the deal so we stayed. After we got our seat by the window, two ladies thought we cut the line and started whining in another language, not knowing I actually speak their language. I did not have to go through this entire experience if the manager had a better lining system (e.g. giving out number slips) But my point is, I didn t come here for such service and experience. My friend and I ordered two noodles and three sides (takoyaki, karaage and pork cutlet). The cutlet was good but the ramen only lived up to its discounted price. I tried not to be biased here but I hope this review helps. I m pretty sure I was not the only one who s fed up by the service because while I was in line, a lady stomped out of the restaurant saying she didn t even want to dine here anymore (but I had no clue what happened there). And another lady talked to me telling me how the manager asked for her number but also explained how he wasn t going to call when the table was ready, which made me confused again while I was in line. I think this place needs a better managing system here. The other young female Cantonese waitress was really nice though. She is the only person who s actually providing good service here.

We want here on Sunday around 11ish it was pretty quiet, I guess it was still early for lunch. The portion of ramen is very decent and delicious as usual. Kept up with the taste since they open almost 20 years ago. Menu has definitely grown since. The flavour is just perfect not salty at all. As I find many ramen places now just way too salty. Would have been 5 star for the food except the curry rice which lacking the curry taste and not enough curry it was very dry (as you can see in picture can t even see the curry sauce) and the rice was hard according to my husband. The rice comes with miso soup but the soup itself lacks flavour as well. Vegetarian options: They have 3 ramen and 2 rice that are Vagans. Parking: Limit parking at the front of the store but plenty of parking at the back. Kid-friendliness: There s area in the restaurant that I would say it s safe for young children to sit.

Love the Tom Yum steak ramen here. Good service!

The name of this restaurant is exactly the same as the one in China, so we wanted to try to see if the taste is close to the Chinese restaurant. The result is a bit satisfying. The food tastes really good, and it meets 90% of the standard. We ordered Ajisen Ramen and Beef Fried Rice. The chewiness of the noodles and the taste of the soup are very close to those made in China. The beef flavor in the fried rice seems to be a little bit weaker. It stands to reason that the quality of Canadian beef is better than that of China, so I infer that the problem is that the beef marinating process is not optimal. In addition, we feel a bit regretful that the restaurant does not provide the soft-boiled eggs that Ajisen Ramen is always famous for in China.

was there couple times last year, finally remembered to leave a review. Food portions are good, tastes alright, not amazing but its above average, does worth the price. Service wise pretty awesome, that chobby asian waiter who gave me good advices on my order every time and was fast with water, tall waiter was abit cold but very on point with his service, even cracked some bad jokes which were weirdly funny. overall a good fast food place that gives way better experience than other fast food joints at similar price range.

Im not much of a Ramen person but this spot was good! I recommend getting the garlic filet mignon Ramen! The soft shell crab bun was so goood.

This busy restaurant offers many takes on ramen dishes. I had the ramen with steak and an add on seasoned egg. The ramen bowl was spicy but not too much so. The egg went nicely with the broth, which was tasty. The steak however was chewy and not recommended. Lunch for two was $40 before gratuity. I will return but will skip the steak next time.

Takoyaki is always good, but Steak Don and Tender Pork Don is just ok, plain white rice on the bottom with dry burned steak and the other one is three pieces of Tender Port on top with no sauce on rice and they put too much rice. Ramen might be better than rice.

The soup broth and food overall tasted good, ambience could be better, decent customer service. Good place for some ramen. Would recommend to satiate your ramen craving, not so much for a proper dinner sit down.

Food poisoning alert! I had food poisoning for two days after eating the beef noodle there and it was not a pleasant experience. I couldn t get out of the bathroom for hours. The beef smelled off and it was clear that the kitchen was not being properly maintained. Avoid this place at all costs. Also, the server at the door was incredibly rude and seemed like he doesn t want to be there. One star is being generous.

TASTY. Yummy the franchisee food has a small recipe tweak. The manager told me their soup is different than the other Ajisen franchisee. I Love Ramen, Also Love other brands ramen. Comparatively, this restaurant would be my top 3 choice. I would give it 4.5 star . This small restaurant has the family run business feel. id believe if the ventilation of the restaurant can be improved. The table and floor would not be slightly sticky

Delicious ramen and curries

The midland location is so much better, tastier, fresher and cleaner. Food here wasn t good. Both ramen and appetizers

food tasted pretty good, the broth was rich and ramen was yummy. it is a bit pricey but thats expected. our server made some invasive comments and from earlier visits it felt like one of the servers kept glaring at me.

I used to eat Ajisen Ramen in Hong Kong for many years. It keeps the standard in here. We 3 of us ordered Ajisen Ramen tonight for each of us. We also ordered side dishes including the Karaage (Deep fried Chicken) and Deep Fried Porkchop. For the ramen broth, it is full of garlic aroma and creamy. The owner is very friendly and the server is very nice & efficient. Although this is a small restaurant, we feel the warmth in here, especially the warm greeting, and a bowl of hot ramen in a cold snowy winter.

The bestt!! I was not sure which one to get as i love spicy but the chicken spicy one was the best and on point that I didn t take a picture before eating!

The food was great, the service was great and the gave us 3 free orders of Edamame to enjoy. My only little thing is how small and cramped it felt, but definitely a go back.

Wonderful ramen location. The spicy ramen was delicious. They also had vegetarian ramen which we loved. Their spring roll and pork katsu was great as well. Will definitely be back. They have a lot of selections and broth options including curry dishes.

The food here was good however the service left a lot to be desired. We ordered 2 appetizers and ramen for 4. Certain Ramen were 2 dishes as they came with tempura shrimp or deep fried breaded pork. The ramen came first without the sides. The sides came a few minutes later. Mid way through the mains the appetizers arrived. Vegetarian options: The broths had customizable vegetarian options.

This has been my go to ramen restaurant for a while now. Their ramens are always extremely delicious and very flavourful. My favorite is their spicy beef ramen. Their gyoza is also Higleyrecommended. Service is also really good. Price didnt went up a bit in recent years, but thats the norm now.

Pretty disappointing for Ajisen. Was seated, waited 15 minutes and didn t even get acknowledged to order. Not sure why, as it wasn t even busy.

If you are passing by on errands and going after lunch time, the staff will also be ready to eat! We ordered two bowls of noodles and a side dish, which tasted great!

Pretty good

Some of the best ramen we ve had. The broth is the major selling point, the meat is good, and the egg is perfect. They separated the broth from the ingredients for takeout which was appreciated. Reasonable portions for the price, would go back. Parking: Tucked away in a busy plaza.

Really don t want to give a bad review to a restaurant. But I hope this helps others. Egg was cold (not sure if they serve cold eggs here, but never have had cold eggs on our ramens), servers were so rude to us, they didn t place our ramen s bowls softly on purpose, I believe it came with an attitude. I guess because I came about 40 minutes before closing? When I was eating, I got asked to prepay for my order, it was exactly 11:42 PM, meanwhile they close at 00:00? Hope restaurant s managers see this!

Delicious, I love this ramen spot! They made it very well, and gave me 3 pieces of egg. Yum! Hands down will always be my go to for a bowl of ramen, as I know the taste and quality is always in each bowl. I have yet to be disappointed when visiting any of the Ajisen locations.

This ramen shop has been alive for so many years, it must be doing well. I remember having it a few years ago and did not enjoy it. Gave it another shot today after soooo many years and it was actually not as bad as I remembered! Food came out hot, and had a generous about of meat. The flavours were great. Wish they would serve hot tea instead of cold water, but that s just my personal preference and to me, more authentic Japanese. Probably wouldn t order the potato cakes (croquettes) again. $5.99 is pretty pricey for it. Parking: Parking is hard to find - you might just have to park in the main lot in the back and walk around to the store front.

The broth is so good. I had the Ajisen Ramen. Price is reasonable. Service is good. Few parking but enough.. Its almost at the corner of warden and Steeles. Not so crowded.

Disappointing food. The steak that came with the tomyum ramen was chewy and overcooked. The curry fries was supposed to have the curry sauce on the side but they just dumped it all over so the fries were already soggy by the time they got here. They also gave us the wrong order, good thing we caught it and didnt begin eating. Not sure if they were just renovating but they have a bunch of old cardboard boxes just lying around and folded up behind seats near the window.

I can only say that the food is not bad, but they are basically semi-finished products. The ramen soup is all seasoned. The beef noodles for 15.99 use hot pot meat, but the quantity is not bad. But Im more curious. Is the water expensive? They dont even refill it.

The waiters attitude was very bad. He didnt give him a knife and fork for the steak. He ignored me for a long time when he asked me to pay for the bill and get a take-out box. He even ran to the cashier and told him that this dining experience was really bad.

Its always a great experience eating at Ajisen, and this location is no different. Wish they could have a branch at the west side.

Overall a great ramen place. You can change the broth regardless of what ramen you choose. I got the Shoyu Ajisen ramen, filet mignon ramen and karaage and fried dumplings on the side. The broth flavour could be better. I wish they used mayo for the karaage (which were tasty and big) and soy sauce for the dumplings instead of using Thai plum sauce, which isnt super authentic. Good place to come for a bite to eat and fill up that belly. Nice service.

My favorite ramen restaurant. Very good service, food is tremendous. Free parking all around the plaza, most the time you can park very nearby. This place is not clean.The food was not good. I had a braised pork ramen and it was 90% slimy fat. The steak didnt have a drop of salt on it and just tasted like dried lard. It was greasy chewing gum. You can see

This is a great stop for ramen! We had the Ajisen ramen and spicy miso pork ramen along with some japanese curry fries.

PLEASE AVOID at all costs !!! Its going to be my last time going there. Save yourself and dont go there. Terrible service !!! The tall waiter is giving out attitudes like he own the store and everyone owes him money. Very mediocre food, some of the fry stuff even manage to made cuts in my mouth.

Ramen is on point!

Love the ramen and the portion size here. It s better to go weekdays than on weekends as it s super crowded and there is a difference in the portion size as well. Service is little weak. When asked for forks/knives, they usually say they don t have enough forks/knives which is disappointing.

Ajisen is reliably good. The portions are large and the manager is friendly and helpful. We received complimentary tea and spring rolls. I ordered the vegetarian ramen with spicy tom yum broth. It was delicious. There is a good variety of veggies including black fungus, enoki, leeks, broccoli, corn and fried tofu. The broth was both creamy and spicy. The noodles were chewy and filling. Looking forward to trying their other broths.

I love this place, have been going here and to Spadina location for about 10 years. Never fails, never changes (unless some tweaks for improvements) and always fair priced. I always leave happy here - and very full.

We had an amazing experience at Ajisen Ramen last night! We went in a little on the late side but this didn t stop our wonderful host from giving us great service! We were greeted with a smile, he brought my little niece some egg rolls while we waited for our food which was very nice of him. The food was AMAZING! I had the steak ramen which was a perfect balance of spicy and flavor. The meat was perfectly cooked as well. The dumplings were delicious too. Overall, it was a great experience 10/10 would recommend.

I ve been coming here since 2013 and usually get the spicy beef ramen. The best ramen place imo. Never never never disappoints. I ve tried so many ramen places in the GTA and even in Tokyo. This place will always be my fave. The staff are super nice too. Even during busy hours I have always received great service and food. 10/10

Best Ramen in the city. Probably better than any other Ramen place Ive tried in Canada honestly (which is a lot of places from Vancouver to Montreal). The Tender Pork Rib Ramen is my personal favorite. The older gentleman who works there is polite and hard working.

Nice nook. Ramen is ok. Broth is superb. Small dining but enough seating comfortably. However, a lot of packaging materials are around this dining area. Sticky insect trap hangs from one of recessed light. Washroom is aweful and smells. No regular cleaning made. These offsets the nice tasting ramen broth.

First time dining at Ajisen Ramen and the experience is 4 stars! Food was delicious. We had the Ajisen Ramen and Beef Teppanyaki. Original broth is delicious! I like the garlicy taste cause it reminds us of the Beef Mami back home. Washroom needs attention..by a lot! Music while dining is okay. Parking is good. Staff were nice and quick. Food were served right away. Hot and fresh! Please mind the wiping of tables cause some food crumbs were flying off the next table. We actually asked for disposable chopsticks as we prefer staff that are cleaning tables be wearing gloves so when they serve napkins and chopsticks to new customers, its safe from cleaning solution or other dirt. We enjoyed the food but will go at another Ajisen Ramen location.

Went here with my wife. We got the spicy beef and ajisen ramen. Both broths were incredibly rich and noodles were springy. The spicy beef broth was a bit spicy but tolerable for anyone that wants a kick to their ramen. The ajisen ramen was a bit lighter. Would definitely go again.

Awesome Miso Ramen Nice atmosphere for comfort food. Katsu was delicious. Yummy food and Great portions. Only negative was Bathrooms could use deep cleaning.

Compared to the midland and mcnicoll location this location is complete and utter garbage. From service to even food quality. Never coming to this location ever again and I highly suggest to anyone reading this review please go to the midland and mcnicoll location. They will treat you better and and you will be pleased.

3rd time to eat here, first review.. first two visits i wasnt into giving reviews -especially taking foodies! but, Im happy to recommend this place to people looking for objective data for this branch (nov 2022) the 3rd visit we got seaweed salad, steak teppanyaki and for the main we had the ajisen ramen and the pork katsu curry rice.. both appetizers were great -like portion and seasoning for the seaweed, and the beef teppanyaki was superb! i intend to order more apps next visit.. the portion is generous for both ramen and curry rice! so dont over order! i dont complain much on the ambience generally when i eat out.. but i hope you guys try the stuff we ordered, theyre all very good. (curry has small, free miso soup, way better tasting than other japanese restaurants) notice i didnt review customer service.. well, if youre accustomed to chinese-run places, it fits the usual service: fast almost impatient vibe,. no courteous greetings..

I think is just an average ramen place. I ordered the Shoyu ramen, soup didnt taste rich and the pork didnt taste fresh and also pretty fatty. Noodles tasted very altdente. I ordered a Takoyaki on the side and the squids was pretty chewy from the inside. Will I go there again? Probably not.

I loved my experience. Food was great. Friendly staff. And the food was piping hot. Great quality of noodles to soup ratio. Parking: A lot of space for parking. Not a lot right beside the store though. Kid-friendliness: I wouldn t recommend if you bring babies. But it s a great experience to bring kids

The food was pretty good, but it was too expensive. I didnt really feel that full after my meal. The seats were also kind of cramped. Overall not a bad place, but there are definitely better alternatives.
