Authentic HK Style Restaurant, since 2014
First time customer. Malaysian Stir Fry Noodle and Milk Tea was good but the Pork and Chicken was ok. The chicken was very fatty.
There are not many Chinese Restaurants in the small plaza where Chloe’s Garden Restaurant is. I was looking for a typical Chinese dish for takeout and had to settle with Chloe’s. I went for just one dish: the Japanese style fried rice, with eel, fish roe and crab meat. The crab meat was fake crab meat and I do hope that the fish roe was genuine. Service was super fast and I mean super fast. So they must have got the menu already made, and just need to reheat. I liked the flavour and taste but too oily for me to come back again for a repeat. Free parking is somewhat plentiful. One thing that I didn’t appreciate is that in order to pay by credit card, the overall total has to be over $50, otherwise it is cash or debit card. My order came to only $18.95.
Despite all the negative reviews from the past, I think Chloe's Garden Restaurant has improved quite a bit. The friendly staff immediately welcomed us and let us choose our table (we chose the one facing the 2 TVs; it was showing HK TVB dramas lol). The menus were definitely revamped and it looks a lot like those at the old school Hong Kong cafes. All the staff who helped us were friendly, courteous and mindful. I really enjoyed my experience here! We ordered a Hainanese Chicken rice noodle; the broth, toppings and noodles were delicious!! Highly recommend for all noodle lovers. We also ordered a fried rice; it was a tad on the oily side, but the flavours were amazing, I ate at least half the plate. I would ask for less-to-no oil next time (I know it's hard to fried rice to no oil, but we are all health conscious these days, amirite?) I would come back again to try more items!
Hidden Gems in Toronto I had lunch at this restaurant in Markham 2 weeks ago. I was surprised by the amazing quality of their food and decided to give them a shot. I booked a table with my friends and reserved some special dishes they recommended that were off the menu. It was the best food decision I’ve made in a long while. They take nostalgic Canto cuisine flavours and dial it up to 10 intensity. A must try restaurant in Toronto.
I love this place. At the time, Euro 2024 was happening. They have big screen TVs. Soccer theme. Great authentic HK style food. Just wonderful. Parking is easier if you go straight to the underground.
5 star because nothing to complain about. Got takeout breakfast. The host or waitress that helped me Carmen was very nice, understanding of me being in a hurry, helped me through the menu and to pick the item that fit my preference, budget, and time crunch. Asked about allergies and wants i like etc but all very quickly to accommodate me. Overall very polite, welcoming, warm, conscious and considerate of me. Mind that I came a little agitated because another place that I went for turned out to be closed, and here I felt instantly at ease. Calm atmosphere. Punctual, organized, clean. Pricier than a fast food sandwich and tea, but it also tastes more homemade and delicious. My lemon tea and sandwich was egg and ham or egg and sausage, and every part of it tasted excellent, like a cozy classic breakfast done right. Cost $10.68 with tax. I think I also came before they begin takeout so I also appreciate them accommodating me for takeout without any indication of inconvenience or delay. Will definitely return.
Tldr: bland This used to be a very confusing establishment with its very traditional Chinese name, cute English name, and half the dining area like a sports bar and the other half as a Hong Kong diner for middle aged ladies. Today, it is bland. I say this as a person whose fav dish is yu choy cooked only in water with a pinch of salt. I got the Hainan chicken rice since I saw 4 other people order it, and the tray looked cute. Yeesh, this was possibly the blandest chicken rice I have tasted in a decade. Legit not much to write about. I also got the salted egg chicken wings. The batter and skin were great since that's where 100% of the flavour was. The actual meat was more bland than the chicken. Furthermore, we asked to be seated in the right half where there are 3 vents because it was extremely hot. They said no because it's not filled up. ... It's lunch on a Saturday. You telling me that it doesn't fill up on a Saturday? 5 min later, they seated people there. It was so hot that my mom and I fanned ourselves as we ate. The boss saw us and brought out a Honeywell fan, the same fan we have at home, to blow the hot air around. This ain't it. Such great potential is lost. Please season or marinate the chicken wings before battering them. It was as boring as nam2's wings.
2024 October 3★ Breakfast combo $11.95 Two items and a drink. Not bad. Food is ok. Lots of variety to choose from. Price isn't bad though portions are a bit smaller. D - ham omelette with buttered toast 4 - shredded pork and picked on rice noodle soup. Overall ok. Free Parking in plaza.
The orders were all wrong, and both the eldest sister and the chef were sleepwalking. Order curry beef brisket rice and get curry beef brisket rice. Order the mandarin duck steak spaghetti and turn it into mandarin duck steak rice. I reported it to my eldest sister and she said I would give him some extra spaghetti. My sister said the mandarin duck steak was not delicious, so she packed it away in the end. I ordered sirloin steak but it didnt come out. The steak was given to Congratulations without asking how cooked it was. The sirloin steak costs more than 20 dollars and even without rice. There are fries in the picture but not fries. When I asked the eldest sister, she said it was just a picture showing that there were actually no fries. Then he said that the chef forgot to fry some fries. Well, we didn t show any shame to you either, we were laughing awkwardly the whole time. When we paid for the meal, we were given extra money to add pasta. Are we some mean guests? The tip was still given, and when I left, I didn t apologize or say hello for the previous mistake. I thought I would never come back again. Now my sister is calling in sick because she feels sick after eating the food last night. This is really unbearable.
Chloes Garden is a place my husband and I go to (or order from) at least once or twice a month. He loves the Hainan Chicken from here above other places in the area. I am I love with the Guilin style Rice noodles, I dont eat pork so Im happy this place has chicken and beef version and I love both! I really enjoy their chicken wings as well. We like to go for the breakfast menu too. Also, I always order Ynyeung to drink with breakfast menu, and theirs tastes strong and delicious.
good food, happy tummy
Top notch Hoi Han chicken, authentic, the portion is generous, consistent quality. This is my go to place for cravings. There are many other menu options for us all. Food comes with great presentation, much thoughts have been put to the efforts. Service is attentive, a family run feel, courteous and prompt. Hongkong styled milk tea stands out to be rich, and authentic. It is packaged with set lunch. Location is accessible, ample free parking, in house big screen TV, showing local Chinese paid TV. Clean and sanitized, feel safe and confident dining in. Covid-19 s protocol is followed and executed. Kudos to the chef and staff. I recommend this restaurant.
From the outside, this restaurant looks like any other HK style cafe, but this place is far from ordinary. Large tvs and absolutely amazing bar snacks for that Sunday football match (their salted egg yolk chicken wings are to DIE for). Larger dishes typical to a HK cafe but cooked at top restaurant quality. Everything about this place was so unexpected and the very best of surprises. Will definitely become my new neighbourhood haunt.
Love this place Id go atleast three times a day when living near by my favorite in all of Markham
So-so
This establishment is a delightful hidden gem. The regular menu items are consistently of high quality, and they are not excessively oily or seasoned. The care and attention put into the food are evident. Their seasonal and irregular items are also quite good. Be sure to inquire about the daily specials. While the regular menu may not offer as many options as other Hong Kong cafes, I prioritize quality over quantity. Of course, adding a few more items would be an improvement.
Terrible service! The server got me a wrong dish. Not only they didnt apologize for it, but they charged me the price of the wrong dish, which was higher than what I ordered. Overpriced for the mediocre quality.
No ac. My bowl of noodle soup was not hot X.O Beef fry rice noodle was bland. Quality of food went down hill. Food : 1/5 |
ordered spaghetti but mistakenly served with rice, after pointing out they said spaghetti should be charged extra, however didnt mention upon checking with the menu, finally spaghetti was given but no apology
We ordered party trays from Chloes Garden Restaurant for our companys training. Thanks to their staff Carmen, we were able to order enough food for a party of 25 people within our budgets. Carmen helped us communicate with the chef to see what options we were able to get within our budgets. She suggested us to order their saucy ducks which was surprisingly good and a lot of our staffs enjoyed their food. The portion of the chow mein was huge and it was enough to feed all of our staffs. We will definitely come back to order more for our future parties and trainings.
The rude server definitely deters us from coming again.
Food taste good, Service good
got the Hainan chicken and rice + Japanese wagyu burger. im not sure whether the burger was good or not since this was my first time having a wagyu burger but it was pretty decent. the Hainanese chicken and rice was pretty good and had a great flavour. the rice was also really good and fragrant. overall, pretty good!
Please do not go to this place. 1Over priced everything and plus they mandatory charge 15% tips. I dont understand why this place still exsist in the market.
High prices + small portions = big no no. Im ok with higher prices but at least give people a fulfilling meal.
HK style steak house. They only sell limited sets of the Hainan chicken rice daily, if you go there for this dish, it is better call to reserve it before going. Parking: Too many restaurants at the same plaza, it is difficult to find a parking space most of the time. You can try the underground parking. Kid-friendliness: They offer kid meals
Very surprised by their Soy Sauce Chicken, at a Hong Kong style cafe. Super, super good.
Really enjoyed the best Hongkong style milk tea .
I went there to see the World Cup final with friends. It was a full house. Food was good, and the atmosphere was nice. Food : 5/5
Got the minced meat rice with egg. Enjoyed it except portion was a bit small. This restaurant feels a bit more like a sports bar with all the sports decor and tvs
I will recommend Hong Kong style tea
Your run of the mill Chinese fast food type restaurant. Food is good but portion is small making it far from being good value. Its borderline expensive
Worst service ever. Wanna give them zero star if I can.
Junk product
Because I wanted to take it home to eat, the waiter told me to wait outside and not come back again.
Services is good, tried their Hainan chicken rice, seafood Udon & spicy fish ball. Average compared with other competitors
The clerk placed the wrong order, which made the customer feel bad, and he didnt correct the order immediately. Its a good thing that he saw the order when he was counting, otherwise he wouldnt know how much he was charged
Dinner for two of us, portion is fair vs price, not a whole lot of menu items. Service is friendly, spacious dinning area, nice and quiet.
We went for lunch. Food portions are generally small. I don t think it tastes good compared to other similar ones eg Blue Ocean. Servers aren t very friendly. The drinks aren t on the menu to my surprise. When we asked, a server with poker face said just the ordinary ones ..
Ordered a take out from them, they forgot to put my sauce for the hainanese chicken rice. Chicken was good, Rice was hard. I also ordered the i never had this thin noodle, they gave me pho noodles .
Service was alright, the staff seemed to have difficulty communicating in English but we were able to order what we wanted. The food was decent and reminded me of a home-style BBQ hamburger. Food
Stove out of order, baked food only, Drink are take out paper cup. Not environmentally friendly. Food
Yummy High Tea, and you can have red bean ice milk drinks for free until August 31.
The food go downhill compared to the year before. The portion is tiny, but the price increased a lot, time to try something else.
Tasty and expensive
Good food, nice service.
Breakfast is back at Chloes Garden! Been for the last 6 months now according to the employees but it doesnt seem like many know about it; including myself, until I noticed on Google that they were open today, on a Saturday at 9:30 am then glanced at their menu online. Available only on Saturday and Sunday, starting at 9:30 am. The place wasnt very busy around 10 am. We were seated almost immediately in a corner booth seat. Place was relatively clean, nothing to rave about though. We were offered menus and cutley, but had to ask for water - served hot. I ended up ordering the breakfast combo, E1, which was a mushroom omelette that came with butter toast paired with their ham macaroni. The omlette was thin with a minimal amount of mushroom. The toast was not really crispy, just slightly warmed (I wouldnt even say toasted) but loaded with salty butter which made it really taste. The ham macaroni was decent - nothing much to say about it. Overall, the combo was filling, especially after having the hot lemon tea that was complimentary. Service was friendly and efficient, and they were responsive to our questions when asked. It was interesting how food/drinks were served, as some were using reusable wear like the water cup, plate for my omelette and toast, and bowl for my macaroni; yet my hot lemon tea was in a paper to-go cup.
Very good restaurant
Portion of the noodles were pretty small. Tastes were ok. Regarding services, some waitress ok but some not. There is no wait on a Sunday lunch time.
Unfortunately, the price has increased while the portion sizes have become noticeably smaller. This shift is disappointing, especially considering the restaurants previous reputation for quality. The taste remains good, but the overall value for money has diminished.
Credit cards allowed after $50?! Ok whatever I paid cash. They need a visible sign indicating no credit until after $50 which disentangled make sense still. Smaller business that crew cards machines add a small fee, not lock credit cards until minimum $50! Ive had better dog food than this. I ended up going to Gals Sushi right after and had an udon. Many times better that what I had here!
Please see the hair on the plate.
Ordered over the phone, attitude was extremely bad. . I asked if I wanted a Jiang Rong, so I would have to pay more. Ask me why you should give it to me? (A normal person would politely say that your meal is not good enough.) The food is so-so, but the service is so inconsistent.
Chloe s restaurant is really good! The milk tea is authentic but it is more on the pricier side
Good food, rude and impatient service.
Poor service. Completely ignore what we ask for
Poor service and upsale
good value, good taste
Portions are tiny for the price and service is horrible. Dont go.
It s a good place to come here when you can t think of what to eat; the environment and hygiene are okay, the food is decent, but the price is reasonable
Super good food. Love the place.
Went to check out the food at Chloes. I asked to be seated but in an empty restaurant the hostess said I needed a reservation. I will never visit this place again
.. The cashier woman is super annoying, rude, inpatient, and has extremely bad serviceattitude. Shes trying so hard to not give me the milktea that I should have so that she can take it as her own or escape some work or what? I totally dont get it. So basically, I ordered a Hainan Chicken Rice to go through phone call. When I arrived the cashier woman just asked me what I ordered, I said HCR. She asked:with hot milktea? I said I didnt order it. That woman didnt explain anything, and just took away the milktea and give me the bag and ask me to pay. But I look at the receipt, it says HCR - $13.00, Hot Milk Tea - $0.00. So I asked her is the milktea free and will come with my order? But guess what, she said nah that milktea its not mine, that bag of food is for person on delivery app who ordered the milktea. But the thing is the receipt on bag shows Phonecall Order instead of delivery app order, and the price for milktea is also $0. I was confused and asked her then why the price for milktea is $0, isnt it free and supposed to come with HCR order? She remains silent, maybe trying to figure out a lie to tell. I asked again, if the milktea is free and will come with my order, why did you take it away without any explaining? Just let me know my order actually contains a milktea!. She finally responsed:Take you food and leave, you said you just ordered the HCR so Im not gonna give you the milktea! Oh wow really. At this moment, another owner looking lady comes out from inside, the cashier woman look at her and suddenly becomes nervous. I asked her again:Look at all the food bags here, all HCR come with a milktea, why you just take mine away? Are you sure a milktea is not included?? That woman finally said:Okay, I will leave a milktea in your bag I therefore realized Im right, the $0.00 Milktea is indeed free and supposed to come with my order. It makes me so confusing, I asked If its included then why you said thats for someone else? Its acutally included right? She first time responsed to me directly HCR will include a free drink, but you said you ordered just the HCR. Yo man, I said that because I didnt know a free drink is included. You are supposed to explain it, instead of just taking it away and say thats someone else food!! Your owner made the rule to give free drink HCR. As a staff just follow it and do it, STOP trying to take advantage of it at someone else expanse please. Thats so despicable. Will never go back to this restaurant, you cant trust a place that has staffs always telling lies.
Yummy Hainan chicken and Hong Kong/Canton food. I have ordered both through delivery and in-person for take out. The food is consistent and delicious.
food is alright, but the customer service is terrible
Spacious place, pub like feel with HK vibes mixed in, however the food was a bit of a hit and miss. We had the Hainese Chicken rice and Wings and Fries which was just ok. The satay beef and instant noodle was actually pretty good but I had to pay extra for the fries egg. My issue is that we came at 11am on Sun when they opened and they didnt serve breakfast, but you can buy the items a la carte. Then some of their other menu offerings were not available... Like honey garlic chicken wings. The available food items felt a bit light and left us wanting more. Especially when the items were not cheap at all... I give them 6/10!
My friend asked me if this is a leftover, I said no ..this set (includes a hot milk tea) costs $13.25, what do u think.
Rice and Noodles are Food court standard. Milk tea is OK.... I will go back Gals Sushi for lunch next time.
Delicious authentic cantonese food
It tastes good.
not toasted for a toasted price of sandwiches
The waiters attitude was very bad and the food was average.
Food is fine but the service is pretty problematic.
Ridiculous management.. the place was closed before 8 p.m. even for take-out.. drove all the way there for no reason.. they didnt even bothering taking off the dine-in availability off..
Very unfriendly people the call in my friends with N word, unbelievable
Ordered fried rice less spicy and a baked rice with pork chop no cheese. None of these instructions were done. When I ate the fried rice, it was not edible, almost seemed like they dumped the entire chilli powder in. The baked rice still had cheese when I went home even though when I went to pick up and explicitly asked if it was no cheese to confirm. Horrible. Please pay attention to your order.
Today we had lunch date with my best girl friend, like their service, and food ok, comfortable seating area, had to give them a like to put a bottle of sanitizer on the table )
Great food, especially the wings ; VIP patio service and excellent seating!
Good
Diarrhea after eating pork cartilage rice
The waitress were so rude. leave your terrible temper to your boss not the customers!
Great and friendly staff, food comes out quick! Fills your belly
If you want to eat first & fast, than order curry. It reach the table less than five min...
Guilin rice noodles are so delicious, I miss them a bit
Credit Card not accepted.
I love these food and I needed to order more on top of the main meal everytime I visit the food quality does stand out from the rest of places I have been to around the area. Highly recommended!! The customer service is great too. They are so nice and caring!
Delicious food, best HK food I ever went to. Highly recommended.
I NEED to order the Hainan Chicken Rice every time! Highly recommended!!!
The pork chop casserole is the best I ve had in the GTA. Best Hong Kong style restaurant I ve been to in GTA
Great foods, excellent service one of my favorite spots
When I walk in here, I feel like going back to Hong Kong when dealing with the staff there. Quick and rude. But this is Canada
Excellent Hong Kong style food at very reasonable prices. Good service too.
Staff are friendly and helpful.
Yes, the food has room for improvement.
Friendly servers, among the best milk tea in Markham
Overpriced, terrible food quality, rude staff, charge extra for take out cups... the list goes on
Good taste. Should have more food
Wall to Wall soccer broadcasts
Good food, good service.
Good location with plenty of underground parking. Many choices in menu for Hong Kong cafe style dishes. Food quality is about average. Seating is very comfortable
Barely speak English
Food is OK, but not enough for adult.
OK place, friendly staff and food is passable
Went there for a quick breakfast on a Saturday morning. Lots of selection ranging from $5.50 to $10 with hot drink included. Ordered two breakfast combos came quick shortly after ordering. Food tasted good, warm and regular portion size. Seats and table seemed clean. Will go back and try lunch or dinner. Free newspaper for early customers.
Nice food good service
Decent Hong Kong style food. Good thing is there are four large screen TVs for viewing sports.
Pork chop bun is legit Fries are extra Cash and debit only
One of my go to places for Hong Kong comfort food.. Their soup noodle comes with pork chop or chicken options. Both are great for a lighter lunch meal. Good slection of HK baked rice dishes for lunch or other stir fry noodle to choose..
- over price although they give you 15% off but CASH only you know what that means - not fresh oil when they cooked Fried Noodle (I can tell it is the re-used oil after frying stuff, smell bad) - service : did not say thank you to your business in this take-out only situation when I was the only customer in front of the staff) - will not recommend to other for healthy style
Yummy food and nice service!
I like this place, food is fresh and taste good. Portion is quite big too for the price. Some times when the place get really busy, staff may become a bit impatient. But overall the experience and food quality is good.
Unbelievable rude service. Went to order a takeout and the waitress at the cashier asked me to go pickup the menu from the counter myself. I asked if they offer a Hong Kong style bun and not sure why it triggered her somehow??? She was then talking to the person beside her in front me saying why people don t even know how to order??? Excuse me the management team, not sure if this is the right person you should put at your front to do the cashier job. Read the review and people are giving same feedback on Attitude of this resturant. Very disappointing and will never come back again.
Good Hainanese chicken rice.
Worst service I ever been to. Me and wife with two kids passing by at noon time, kids are hungry so we drop by again, previous visit wasnt that great. I ask the waitress at the door if they accept debit, she replied yes, so we sat down. Food are better then last time. When I asked for the bill and a debit machine, another waitress rushed over and said they only accept cash, no debit. Oh well, ok, there is an ATM nearby. They bought over my bill which indicates UNPAID , so I paid cash, they returned with changes but with that same bill. I asked for a bill that shows PAID or without UNPAID so I can file as my expenses, they refused with troubling manner. CRA should look into their book which I will forward that bill to them
friendly service, good price good food
Always pass by this restaurant. Today first time here to try their lunch. They have Guilin rice noodles. We tries it, they have their own Guiline soup recipe and taste ok. We also have the signature baked pork chop rice taste ok too with a little salty. May visit them again
Good food, had baked pork chop rice and Hainan chicken rice. Both were just right. Waiters can be a little sales person oriented trying to upsell you at every corner but beyond that, very good.
Reasonable price for amazing food, friendly service.
This restaurant has a great variety of HK and panasian foods as well as their signature AAA steaks. While they attempt to present food well on a plate for a slightly lower price, they fall short in quality and consistency. The restaurant is a confusing fusion of a midrange family restaurant, HK diner, sports bar and steakhouse. We ordered a few ribeye and sirloin dinners, medium rare, and I had the omurice with curried pork cutlet. They came with the standard borscht and lemon tea/milk tea/coffee. The omurice and pork cutlet was decently portioned, the rice a little bland but tasted alright with the curry. Though this is my first omurice which tasted like ketchup eggs, it didnt resemble what Ive seen in youtube reviews where people cut open the egg and it flowed apart in a soft semicooked way. This one just sat there underwhelmingly. The curry was a good Japanese style one with maybe a bit too much thickener, and the cutlet was thin yet crispy. The steak was more on the rare side than medium rare and quite fatty. Someone else wrote further down in the reviews that theirs was overdone, so the chefs need a bit of a refresher and/or quality control. Unless you had a large party that all wanted different things of mediocre quality and a random level of doneness of steak, then I suggest going to places that actually specialise in these cuisines, such as Katsuya for curried cutlets, or The Keg for steak. You get what you pay for.
Food is not bad, a bit more friendly service would be appreciated
Decent HK style cafe. Lunch specials are much better than other places that are around. Tue ham hock special is a fantastic deal. Surprisingly good steaks too.
Budget friendly breakfast and lunch spot.
Great ambiance to watch a soccer game. They used DAZN for the EUFA champions league finals. Coverage was a little spotty but overall not too bad.
Price a bit more but also fair portion service is typical hk cafe. Place in general pretty clean and comfortable. Had honey pork shop with rice it was well done taste I like but may not be for everyone. The chicken with spaghetti on cream sauce pretty good lots of cheese overall pretty satisfied
food is good but when I came here order my food wait around 45mins very slow food cooker.
Good varieties and selections on menu. Chefs use the best ingredients for cooking especially the type of rice and rice noodles they picked are of very good quality; Chinese soup that comes with lunch combo is the best in town, could see the dishes were done with great passion!
Such bad service!!! Never experience such a rude attitude in any restaurant rather than this one They don t even let you finish your sentence on the phone, they interrupt you rudely and hang up before you stop talking. I keep calling them 3 times and every time they were so rush Don t step into this restaurant if you don t speak Cantonese They don t like mandarin speakers!!!
This place automatically charges 15 percent tips on all purchases. Check your receipts before you pay. You dont want to be tricked to pay tips twice.
Food is nice but dont expect smile or service
The food served was of unexpectedly good quality. It will appeal to those who are passionate about Chinese cuisine but also to those who are not.
Awful taste of food and overprice. Bad service and charged 15% tips It s uncomfortable to pay for it
Affordable price, first-class service, good product
OK with good choice of Hong Kong style fast food.
This is the restaurant that made me intentionally tip $0.05, which means the service attitude is unparalleled. The food quality is no longer good, and the employees really want the boss to shut down. This is a restaurant that I can walk to in two minutes. I would rather drive ten minutes to go anywhere else. It s really a rubbish restaurant that I won t go to again even if I m invited to eat there.
Nice pork chop rice
Good food, comfortable seats
Does not have free wifi rip
Very tasty food
Food good
HK Style Restaurant. The steak and the Hainan Chicken Rice were good. Service was OK. Hong Kong style restaurant. The steak and Hainanese chicken rice are both good. Service attitude is OK. Ein Steak Restaurant wie in Hong Kong. Steak und Hainan Chicken haben geschmeckt. Die Bedienung war in Ordnung.
Average Asian food, atmosphere a little cold, prices are standard.
Steak is just warm not hot.
However, the service attitude is average and the food is okay.
