This restaurant attached to Monte Carlos Inn serves Western dishes with a touch of Hong Kong style. Their food is excellent and honey mustard pork chop is a must try and I consider it best in town. Price is reasonable for the quality and generous portion. If you intended to spend a romantic evening with your other half, there are excellent choices of "dinner for two" during weekdays. Highly recommended.
We had a lovely weekend lunch with family at this cozy restaurant hidden inside Monte Carlo Inn. As we entered the building, we were warmly greeted by the reception at the hotel front desk. The smiles on everyone's faces truly brightened our day! The restaurant itself has a pleasant dining environment, cozy and impeccably clean. They offer a wide selection of set lunches, each including soup or salad and coffee or tea with fair price set. We have upgraded our soup to the Baked Pastry soup for an additional $13, and it was certainly worth the extra cost and the brief 10-15 minute wait, as it was freshly baked. This soup tastes superb and comforting beginning to our meal, providing a satisfying and indulgent start. The white sauce chicken and bacon Linguine were a delicious combination of flavors, and the portions are huge. And the Pan friend Sole was cooked just right, paired perfectly with a fresh green salad. The food was delicious with every dish expertly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The service at the restaurant was good with friendly and accommodating staff. They were attentive to all our requests and questions. Overall, it was a memorable meal filled with great food. A perfect place for a relaxing meal with family or friends. We will definitely come back for more ~
BEST HONEY MUSTARD PORK-CHOP in TOWN! Once you try their pork chop you will agree with me ! So tasty and juicy ! Their food except the pasta is all pretty good. Could work on improving their customer service.
The last time I came the service was great from the female staff members. But today I came with my family and extended relatives, and the one male staff member with glasses was very rude. Rushed us to order when it's not busy and we were waiting for the rest of our party. He kept using his pen to point at us and at the menu items. Also poked me in the hand. Very rude. Made us all upset.
Unexpectedly good western/Hong Kong style fusion restaurant inside a hotel. The mustard flavor pork chop was huge but tender and juicy. Came with your choice of appetizer (soup - both clam chowder and lobster bisque were good or salad - Ceasar and smoked salmon were fresh and not soggy) and carb choices (rice, pasta, fries etc). All shrimps that accompanied main course were not overcooked or fishy. Grilled chicken was crispy and juicy. Everything came really hot which is a bonus in my books. Meal ended with good variety of hot and cold drinks. Whole party of 9 all stuffed and happy with their choices. Service exceptional like that of a 5 stars hotel. Would definitely come again.
Very good services from every staff. Feel welcomed. Food is good and big potion. Christmas dinner with Christmas menu. A bit more expensive than regular pricing but reasonable. Meals includes Entrée, salad or soup, dessert and tea or coffee. Fries are good.
This is pretty much a slightly fancier HK cafe than usual, in the hotel's first floor. The food was all delicious and the menu isn't that large but all the options looked tasty. Definitely recommend the ox tail dinner special (although it's messy to eat in public). They did have some issues with organization, e.g. they forgot one of our orders, mistakenly made another dish instead of the one we ordered. But, they always quickly rectified the mistake so honestly there isn't much to complain about. The prices are fair, especially for the afternoon tea menu. It was also pretty busy considering it was about 3pm on a Tuesday. I was surprised to see so many tables filled
Very pleasant experience and great food quality. They are offering a different menu than usual but these are unusual times during a pandemic. Owner is extremely nice and friendly. Very good value for their combo and excellent quality. Combo for 2 comes with 2 soups (cream of mushroom and/or Borsch), garlic popcorn chicken, 2 German sausages, 2 PCs honey mustard baked porkchop, pasta with tomato sauce and 2 pops for only $29.99. Large portions and some corn and broccoli included. My kids and I quite enjoyed it and will definitely return to try other things. Sept 2024 update: went there for the first time to dine in and it was a pleasant experience. There's a "afternoon tea" menu with a variety of dishes and snacks that are affordable. It comes with a HK tea / coffee or lemon tea. Decent amount of food. There is a dinner menu as well but it doesn't seem to have very many options which aren't "set dinners". For the set dinners it seems you need to reserve it a day ahead too.
Great food , great deal, great service
Very pleasant surprise. The package is excellent. Fast delivery and good service
Food is good but always noisy. May be bec of llow ceiling. Have to leave asap after eating. LOL.
Wow, been a long time since Ive been to a restaurant that I feel it is worth the tipping. First, lets talk about the honey Mustard pork chop, it is phenomenally juicy! Second, excellent service with great friendly attentiveness to all your needs. Third, great portion, it is huge! Will definitely come back in no time!
Good restaurant to visit Vegetarian options: All Food : 5/5 |
Pork chop must order. Taste good and juicy. Service is fast. If u have more than 4 people to enjoy a meal at the weekend , you must reserve a table in advance . It is open earlier @11 am, weekend.
The best pork chops in town for a fair price. Must try
Is the Monte Carlo inn restaurant the breakfast are pretty decent and dinner excellent
I love the food I order not bad better then anything else mmm pork chop honey mustard!!
Food quality - so so Seating - out of date table n chairs , its like cafeteria Satff - under , dont expect much Food : 3/5
Attentive and friendly servers. Food quality is always keeping a good standard for a reasonable price.
This is a restaurant inside the Monte Carlo Inn which serves HK cafe style food. It tends to be a very popular spot for lunch or afternoon tea due to the price and portion size. Their most popular dishes were the pork chop and pasta dishes, which were decent for the price. Many of the lunch specials also came with a choice of drink as well (usually a hot coffee/tea). Recommended to visit during the lunch or afternoon tea sessions (2-5pm) where the prices are decent. Parking: Parking is the hotel s parking, which can be full at times due to either the hotel or the restaurant patrons.
Their baked pork chop with honey mustard sauce is the best in Toronto, not too dry, smell good and delicious. You can see almost every table order the baked pork chop dish. However, the restaurant is too loud during the peak hours of lunch.
Been here many times. Food usually pretty good. Last visit was for new years. The steak was above average cooked to medium rare. Tiramisu dessert was a nice surprise.
Most tastiest Pork Chops I ve tried so far.. moist, tender & very well marinated. Extremely generous portions and the WOW the price were unbelievable a True Value!! Great friendly service. I ve already recommended this place to my family and friends. Definitely returning.. Keep up the great quality, service and outstanding value
Good food and service, price reasonable.
Foods are good
Ordered the honey mustard pork chop and spaghetti. Comes with soup, garlic bread and tea. 2 big pieces of pork chops and loved the honey garlic sauce. Very filling and tasty. Service was quick and friendly. Will go back again.
The menu is limited to about 10 items which hasnt changed much over the years. Its decent and includes soup or salad as well as coffee or tea. A good place for conversation as it isnt too busy or noisy. Price is about average.
My favorite place for dining, recommend!
Great place for lunch, generous portion and overall tasty food. Their honey mustard pork chop is a must try, but not for the fish and chips which I took one star off them. Otherwise, staff is very nice and work fast and attentive!
Good service, good food!
Good staff service, food with good quality and quantity. Strongly reccommed
Delicious soup and main, good cheesecake but mediocre tiramisu. Excellent, friendly if idiosyncratic, service.
Two large pieces of pork chops, honey pork chops, very delicious!
The honey mustard pork chop is very good, the chicken wings were both few and subpar. A nice environment to eat overall
The menu has changed but is very popular! Enjoy
Food teast no good, service so so , wont go again
I would rate them 3.5 I am a little disappointed after my first visit. The restaurant s name is fancy, and it s located in a hotel (oops, I forgot it s an inn); but the restaurant is actually very noisy and crowded although I saw a couple were enjoying candle light dinner with red wine at the back corner (big contrast ) Food is actually more like HK style cafe food. Staffs mainly speak Cantonese. Maybe it was a busy night, our food took long time to come, and even though we asked for the bill, it took long time too, the first server forgot and we had to asked again to the second server. I had a little hope when I see Lobster Bisque on the menu and there s no lobster chunk in it and the soup taste strong alcohol Pork Chop is a bit greasy coz it s a fatty Pork Chop; even the Chicken dish has some oil on the plate too. But the Tomato sauce was good Staffs are friendly and they also provide Chinese Menu if you needed. So, if you are looking for a fancy diner, that s not the right place. But if you like a tasty of HK style cafe food, you can go have a try. (The worst part is the washroom, very messy, used paper towels everywhere on the sink and ground I know it s not their fault coz it s located in the inn s lobby; but that s the where to go if you need to wash your hands before meal)
Reasonable price, big portion
Recommended by my friends. Must try Honey Mustard pork chop meals. Even I dont normally order pork chop but the chef wont disappoint me. Really yummy. I highly recommend too. Will try other dishes on next visit.
One of the places that I will go back to, definitely. Good food, good value.
The restaurant is located in the Monte Carlo hotel in a beautiful setting. The food quality is not good, especially the pork chop rice
This restaurant is inside the Monte Carlo Inn. We tried their set lunch today. They have around 13 choices for set lunch . Their cooking style is more Hong Kong style . Food and service is very good .
Mussels wasnt what I expected because they werent east coast mussels. Chicken pasta sauce was similar to chicken noodle taste. HOWEVER, we ate them! So, good but not what we expected.
So so
Good price Good food Food
Authentic Hong Kong style Western food
A busy authentic HK style restaurant. Loved their honey mustard pork chop. Set lunch came with soup and coffee/tea. Food came fast and service was good. Food
Its a slightly elevated HK style diner in a hotel. The food is a bit more expensive and better than a lot of HK diners even though presentation isnt great. Its pretty loud and cramped in there. Service is fast.
Excellent services, foods are delicious and portion are hugh. Get a member card and enjoy 10%.
Good food, good service, but a bit noisy...
I enjoy going there for lunch. There has a very good lunch menu. The lunch portion was good.
Excellent service and friendly staff!
Laughable Bruschetta. Brown Wonderbread with cheap tomatoes and powdered Parmesan. Hard pass. $10
food & services good
Great food and good deal
Good food
Italian name with Chinese management...Soup was a bit on the sour side..The cod fish in cream sauce is very nice...coffee...I prefer Timmy.
great food, good deal when you visit in tea time
Catering to HK style English meals. Prices have gone up $2 across the board recently.
Full House. Good food and politeness
Definitely didn t meet expectations which were pretty low to begin with. The garlic bread is essentially a toasted slice of white Villaggio bread with some butter. I wouldn t recommend the shrimp pasta in lobster sauce it s a plate of overcooked pasta, plainly boiled shrimp, raw bell peppers, and button mushrooms swimming in their lobster bisque soup. For what it costed ($27) it was pretty disappointing. I would ve given 1 star but the wait staff are really nice.
I really enjoyed the place. I like my rib eye steak tasty tender even midieum rare. Enjoyed a cup of cappuccino. I love the place
Very friendly staff and tasty food. Prices are affordable.
Good service
Waiters very nice
We have visited for afternoon tea, prices have gone up (as expected) but portion size got smaller especially the fish and chips, sadly the fish was like 1/2 the size of 1 piece of fish compared to previous experience. Pork chop was still good so take you pick. Staff were friendly so I rated it 3.5* overall.
Food is good, price is market price. Not too high.
Great food, terrific customer service. Best one I ve had this month. Definitely recommend. Soup needs more seasoning.
Good food with very good price. Lunch meal includes soap, main course and tea or coffee. Cant beat it. Will come back again
Very good, excellent
Good Food. Very Clean.
Best value item on their latest take-out menu (as from April 8, 2021) is the single piece of Signature Pork Chop with Honey Mustard Sauce $4.50 in the appetizer section. I always ordered this pork chop in a combo before and now it is available as a standalone item. Love the taste of it!
Managed by a Chinese, they cater to Chinese tastes and serve restaurant-style rice or pasta. Definitely worth a try
Really great value for take out. They have these 2 people sets where you get SO MUCH FOOD! Enough leftovers for another meal for at least 1 person. Food taste pretty good, I love their soup, tomato sauce pasta and chicken.
After several orders, quality was not the same of every time.
Delicious food
Great resturant
The food is okay but the environment is a bit stale and smells a bit moldy.
Daily operation as of 2021 Jul 4 is Mom to Sun 11am to 9pm. Please call to make reservation first.
Great place for lunch and dinner. Excellent service and foods were great.
good food, efficient service
Dont mind repeat and repeat, its really good
Best value afternoon tea. $7-$11 include ice tea, hot coffee or tea, salad or fries depending on meal. Patio open, good service, clean environment. Must importantly delicious
I went there before the open-up. Had to dine outdoors. Food was as tasty as before the pandemic. Prices have gone up inevitably.
I went there with my friend few days ago and we both ordered curry pork cartilage. The dish appeared with a few port cartilage swimming in the watery curry sauce. Taste of it was also very disappointing as it lacked all the flavour and aroma a curry dish should have, it just tasted like a sauce dissolved with some curry powder. We reflected this to a waitress and she responded that no other customers have the same issue and rolled her eyes at us!
Food quality is amazing
Taste good pork chop
Good food and nice environment
why there is only half a slice of bread that comes with each set meal ?
Before the pandemic, I came here for dinner and listened to live music with singer. Now there is no live music but the patio is open and I enjoy coming here for both lunch and dinner. Please note the new hours from 11 am to 9 pm daily. Pork chops are done perfectly. Must try.
Good portions of food. Afternoon tea menu starts at 2pm.
Unexpectedly good place to visit
Poor food quality with the price is above average. Never had a club house sandwich with such a bad taste, the ice tea tasted like added water. Will not coming again.
Good!
Food are excellent must try their milk tea.
This was an OK experience... I enjoyed the honey mustard porkchop. It was extremely tender and juicy. I think the only thing that they could improve was the side portions. The price was good for the main course portion.
Delicious food
Good food, reasonable price and good service!
Cozy place and good food at great value.
Service here was great and efficient. Food came quickly and tasted pretty good. I got the linguine bolognese which was large in portion and came with a soup and tea as well. Overall the dining experience here was good. The staff were informative of their discounts available and tried their best to answer any additional questions.
Nice Restaurant!
Reasonable price and good quality of food
Price reasonable. Big portion. Good taste.
Not tasty
There are not many seats, the place is elegant and clean, and the standard is average
Food is good
Food and service is good.
Nice terrace with nice food at reasonable prices!
Came for lunch in COVID period and they seem to be sanitized quite well and tables are seated with space left between. Meals portion are good and its quite reasonably priced. It comes with a soup appetizer and coffee or tea after. Its an overall hearty meal.
This is a fusion restaurant. Although the name sounds very Italian, it s actually a Chinese fusion restaurant. During lunch, it s a fusion HK cafe-type restaurant. The food is good and I like their bisque soups. It is located inside the Monte Carlo hotel and there is ample parking. Price was a little more than I expected but still reasonable. Service was good.
Very bad service to force groupon holders to eat in during covid and not offer any takeout options or allow a refund of the groupon. Will never support this place again!!
I like the dining environment and the friendly customer service. Lots of space for social distancing. They only have one chef and one waitress during this challenging time. Need more patience when you dine in. Food quality is good but we order the mixed grill (steak, lamb and sausage) for $39.99. its not worth, the lamb is very very small piece and sausage is abit salty. The chicken steak w shrimp and scallops are good. The soup comes with garlic bread which is yummy. for dessert, we have Tiramisu which is just okay. They have a special menu for take out during the pandemic which I plan to try next time.
Dishes are cooked well. Its a bit pricier than normal HK cafes but it also has higher-end food and is in a nice setting with very large portions. The honey mustard pork chop has too much honey mustard. The port wine mushroom chicken steak was done well. Garlic bread is good soft on the centre and crispy on the edges and is very good when dipped in the cream soup.
This restaurant at the Monte Carlo Inn is a delightful surprise. The lobster bisque was very tasty with bits of lobsters and my Angus steak with scallops was nicely cooked - steak was medium rare as desired and the scallops were cooked to perfection, not rubbery. Highly recommended.
The appetizer was a delicate touch with the food. The food was delicious and the service nice. I suggest that you come to this paradise of food.
The service is very good and the place is clean. It is not a big restaurant. The food is not bad and there are good choices, but I wont say its super good.
One of a better restaurant. Food is good.
Chinese italian food so everything tastes.. watered down. Big portions and nice staff but food is just unappetizing
Good food, clean
Very nice place and good food especially the port chop, you must try
Good service , reasonable price for the quality of foods served.
Extremely poor customer service. Egg yolks were dark blue so very poor quality of food. Not safe
Great Hong Kong style food. Reasonable price. But limited menu selection.
Taste good but a bit too much oil
