Great service and great food

I went to the restaurant for lunch on a Friday before the long weekend. The service was excellent and very friendly. The owner even offered water for my dog. The portion sizes were huge, and the food was delicious - so much that I couldnt finish my meal.

Food was great, floors and walls are a bit run down, tables are work down slightly, food was good and resonablely priced, service was fast

Came for lunch & a couple of drinks on the patio, order two beers, nachos and fries & chicken strips. Waited over thirty minutes for food to arrive, the nachos were the saddest most pathetic plate of nachos we ve ever had, the server never checked on us once, didn t ask how the food was or if we wanted another drink. $60 wasted.

My favorite brunch spot in Markham!

Food was really good. 3 people, 3 satisfied plates. Service was a bit slow but it was a nice day and we enjoyed the weather sitting in the patio so we didnt really find it a bother.

The serving of chicken wings was quite small

I went for brunch today and I was given my drinks and then was not even looked at for 15 minutes. We decided to leave when we saw someone else get food they ordered after we were already there. We put the menues piled on the end of the table to be taken away and many people looked at us. We still got charged full price for the one orange juice that came with 2 waters that we ordered. When we got seated they took our drink order right away. The drinks didn t even get put into the system until we asked for the bill. They didn t even know who was supposed to have our table

Great karaoke!

We were a family group of 22 for Brunch- day after my sons wedding. The best service! We were checked on constantly, drinks topped up, so friendly. Server knew who each order belonged to no mix ups. They made us feel very welcome, Food was awesome. I can t believe the amazing variety and amount of fruit that came with each order. You made our day. Thank you so much. Saturday morning brunch with my 7yo son and we were the only ones in the place at first. Server was friendly and awesome to talk to. The Boy loved his chocolate chip pancakes and my French Toast platter very good. Best part was atmosphere. Someone threw on their 90s hip hop and r&b playlist and all the tables were chair-dancing along with their lively conversations (several other tables had arrived throughout brunch). Even Boy was enjoying the music and friendly staff! Great all around. Kid-friendliness: Older mansion (duh!) and definitely more Pub than anything, but decent kids menu and crayons available for their entertainment. Wheelchair accessibility: Probably their one downfall...older house and the bathrooms weren in the basement. Pretty sure this one isnt high on an accessibility list, unfortunately.

Mains has failed me for the last time. I used to come here all the time and loved it but in the past year or so, the service has been awful and the food has been horrible. Just last night while I was eating with my family and almost every single one of us had hair in our meals. Extremely disgusting and speaks volumes to what kind of a clown show they re running over at mains. If I could give zero stars, I would. The food reminds me of the cafeteria lunch line recently, I wouldn t recommend my worst enemy to come dine at this place and I advise everyone to stop eating here. WORST EATING EXPERIENCES OF MY LIFE!!!

If I could give 0 stars I would. Made the mistake of going in here to grab a drink with my buddy after work. Place smelt like piss. There was something caked into the bottom of my glass. and there was a cockroach in the ladies washroom. Do better.

Very delicious brunch which serve on both Saturdays and Sundays. Portion is huge and ingredients are very fresh. Each plate comes with lots of fruits. For the size, price is excellent and the restaurant didnt jack up the price nor downsize on portion due to that minimum wages hike which I was very surprised. But even if the owner does increase the price a bit, it is still definitely worth going to this place!

Chicken burger was amazing and all topping were fresh. Fries were perfect. French onion soup was great. Server was sweet and on the ball and we didnt wait for refills. We will be back for sure. Parking: Lots of parking around the building and off the main street.

Took my inlaws there for Mothers day breakfast. We didnt finish half of our plates... food came out 5 mins after we ordered, that told us they pre-made everything. Toasts are cold and dried, no butter on it. Pancakes tasted like cardboard. My tea wasnt steeped in boiled water, just hot tap water.....very horrible experience.

We had Mothers day breakfast there this morning... the worst breakfast experience ever. Table was not set up, some of us got a spoon for the coffee, no spoon for Tea. Utensils were not givien when food was arrived. We had to ask for it. Tea steeped in hot tap water, not boiled water. Food came out 5 mins afted we placed the order, you can tell they pre-made everything. Toasts are cold and dried, no butter. My moms pancake tasted like cardboard. A rotten grape on my wifes plate.....will never go back.

Went here for Mothers Day brunch with hubby and the kids. The portions were huge and included lots of fresh fruit. My french toast was some of the best Ive had and almost everyone finished their plates. The staff was very friendly and did everything they could on this busy day to ensure we were well looked after.

Wow loved it here! Went for Mother s Day and my mom would like to go back for her birthday! Because she LOVED it sooooo much :) huge portions, great service and provided a water bowl for my dog!

Came here for a beer after work. Half price on appetizer. I ordered calamari and blue moon pint. Average quality but a good place to relax.

You cant believe the dirt in there..... no one cleans those bathrooms in months!!!! if that is the dirt that is seen, imagine the dirt in the kitchen and the places that are not seen!!!!!!!

Went there yesterday. Got the good old choose a table that s clean routine waitress was rude and only focused on friend sitting at the bar. Ordered two separate pints of beer both flat. Food was ok until we got home both my spouse and I were sick. AVOID!

It was our first time at this restaurant as we were invited for breakfast by some new friends. We had arrived first for the reservation & sat at our table. Our server asked if we wanted coffee & we said yes. She brought us the mugs of black coffee & walked away. We had to seek her again to request some creamers which she obliged & placed a few of the small disposable ones on the table. Not inna plate or anything, just scattered on the table with no where to dispose of the little plastic containers. After taking a sip of my very sub-par coffee, I noticed that the cup was not clean & in fact had a lipstick imprint still on the mug. I honestly felt ill & would have just complained & left but we were invited here by new friends who were kind enough to want to treat us to a meal & spend some time. I took my cup & went to address the dirty mug & she just made some excuses & said she would bring me a new cup of coffee. At this point, I need to point out that the restaurant was not busy at all. There was only one other table with 2 people that left minutes after we arrived, so it was just our table. When our friends finally arrived, I didn t mention anything to them as I did not want to make them feel uneasy in any way & we ordered. We got our food but the server couldn t remember what anyone ordered & had to be reminded. I would rate the food a 5 overall. The eggs over-easy were ok, the french toast were dry & no flavor, the bacon was not crispy & the pancakes were average. The overall service was terrible & our server, although seeming friendly is definitely in the wrong job & clearly doesn t seem to care for being there. We would definitely NOT be returning.

We came here for dinner the server Annie was incredible. The patio was busy but she kept us entertained! She recommended us some nice drinks and snacks and was fast with the drinks. The food was well done. Washrooms need to be redone. The server made us laugh a lot. She did well for such a busy night.

Went there for a birthday dinner. Sat outside, no one came out, i had to go in and inform server that we were outside. So we wait, finally they come.and take drink order. Few minutes later food order was taken. Shift change, server one leaves. Server 2 was much better until i sent my steak back for being undercooked. I asked for well done and it wasnt. She actually asked me to point out where the pink was, to which surprised the hell out of the rest of the family in attendance. Portions werent that great. Barely any vegetables. Potatos were dry. Basically we wont be returning cause of this lousy experience. Oh btw if you are the owner of this restaurant. 2 things additional, 1. Make sure ur seats arent ripping apart where someone can fall through the chair, 2nd. Make sure your customers are not smoking within the front entrance of the restaurant. At least 30 ft from the entrance. #endrant

Not the best service the nachos we ordered were not baked the cheese was still cold the server is very forgetful. My first time and I was very disappointed.

The washrooms alone are enough to make you never leave home again. Its a pretty big place that often has 1 or 2 waitresses around and everything looks old and dingy. When I enter the only thing I feel like saying is, I have come back Miss Havisham! Do you hear? I have come back!

Update the bloody restaurant already! I worked there 23 years ago and it still smells the same! Get some new furniture guys! Vegetarian options: Accessibility for disabled is horrible. No parking thats close. Dirty old smelling bar, BUT great service and food. Go figure!

Service from server was great. She was always checking up on us to make sure we had all we needed so for that this location gets a solid 4 stars. Food was ok. Regular Kirkland Costco style fries and the burger left burp repeats all night long. Location is neat with a old school feel from a heritage home. Parking wasnt to painful being on main 48 Markham road. Overall was a ok experience.

We dined in for brunch on family day. It was a nice family restaurant vibe inside . Friendly staff. The service was slow but it could be due to the family day rush. We ordered peameal eggs Benedict and western wrap. 1) eggs Benedict was OK, they really low balled us with the hollandaise sauce. 2)western wrap was also okie. Nothing amazing. SERVICE: 4/10 FOOD:5/10 STAFF :8/10

I had visited here for brunch about a year ago, and returned today, post-pandemic. My wife and I looked down at all the cigarette butts outside the front door, but proceeded inside anyhow. I was surprised when I opened the wrapped cutlery to see a really dirty. I asked the waitress for another set and it also was really dirty - dried on ! Anyhow, the breakfast veggie omelets we ordered were overcooked/dry and the service was really poor. For a 2 person meal almost $50 was way too much to stomach this ( had to run to toilette afterwards-what does that tell you?) Sorry there are way better places to get better food and services elsewhere!

Good reliable breakfast. Service is very good. The decor is a bit beat up though, since it is a popular pub at night. If youre fine with some roughed up walls, then its a good place for brunch.

Business sometimes is about the people who work for you and the consistency of the service they provide. This business unfortunately is affected by the inconsistencies of its staff. Case in point on Thursday May 5th at 6:56 pm I called for reservations for this Sunday May 8th. Knowing it was Mothers Day I wanted to bring my wife and kids there for brunch and didnt want to leave anything to chance. I was told that I didnt need reservations and that it was ok to just walk in. I said I wanted to make sure there was room. I was told that they had plenty of space and that it wouldnt be an issue. So in Sunday we came in and saw plenty of space in the inside and some outside. Because we found it a bit cold outside we thought best to be inside. A few of the waitresses looked at us strange maybe they were overwhelmed and one told us we had to make reservations. I was very upset at this and we left after a discussion with the manager about business practices. We wont be coming here again. Good news is we went up the street to Sunset Grill which was full to the brim and we got seats after a few minutes and had a great meal.

We have been visiting this pub for years. Always great service and great pub fare. Recently my partner visited the pub to celebrate her sons recent accomplishments. She left and forgot her expensive Bose sun glasses. Jad, a worker there saved the glasses. Someone took them. He confronted them. They were returned. We gave him a great TIP for all his honesty and integrity.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon for brunch on the patio. They were very shortstaffed. There was only 1 server who was looking after the patio. We asked for water but never got it. We ordered the bottomless coffee but it was impossible to flag someone down to ask for refills. As for food, I ordered the veggie delight omelette which came with potatoes, fruits and toast. They never offered us any butter or jam for the toast and we had to ask for it. Food took almost 45mins to come. The food is very average and not worth the price. One thing worth noting is that they have complimentary wifi.

I didnt know branch only served on weekends, but they kindly made branch for us on Monday! And it was really delicious!

Wanting to enjoy and evening out and support local we went here. My GF being from Hungary ordered the chicken schnitzel which arrived at table in a pool of water from vegetables, it was a whole chicken breast breaded not schnitzel and because of all the water it was soggy. We asked for gravy on side and it came as brown/beef gravy with onions which again odd. I ordered Texas burger it seemed to have been precooked and reheated and was very salty on top of the salty bacon. Overall not good food Also umbrellas all had booklets hanging from them for install flapping around and the string lights had a broken bulb and exposed wires very dangerous. All I sign they don t have attention to detail. Server was nice.

Delicious all Canadian breakfast spot in the heart of Markham village.

Where do I start. Drinks, my beer was flat and didnt taste that good. My wife ordered salmon with rice and veg, the salmon was hard and over cooked, the veg was raw, extremely hard, certainly not worth the $25. My burger wasnt too bad but the fries were not fresh, frozen and over cooked, again not worth the $19. There were no condiments on the table either. Will never return to this place, absolutely over priced and not good food at all, in fact it was a terrible experience.

Horrible experience! There was only one waitress on a busy Saturday night! Not to mention the fact that when I arrived home my friend received a message from one of our other friends still at the bar saying the waitress couldnt find record of my payment in the system and to send a screenshot. I immediately took a picture of the original receipt and printed payment receipt and sent it to my friend who then passed it on to the employee. Extremely nerve wrecking and unprofessional! What if I didnt keep my receipt? What if I payed cash and there was no record of me paying? So unorganized. I am outraged and will never be back there again. Unbelievable!

Had a large brunch for 11 people. Waitresses were lovely but overworked. Only 2 servers for people inside and out. Food was good but this place is in desperate need of a facelift. Appeared very run down needs new paint and furnishings. Located in a two story plaza that also needs a major redo and new property management; walking from downstairs to the main level did not lend itself to a positive experience. Pricy at $20 for eggs Benedict.

If this place is what they say it is - an upscale restaurant I must be on a different planet! Servers too busy to even let you know how long the wait is going to be - left for some KFC down the road.

A nice little cosy place on Main Street Markham. The interiors gives you the old house feel or a Ye Olde Pub feel. They got screens with movies running. I feel the prices have gone up a bit from the summers. The portions are still great. We have only tried out he breakfast and brunch options. The staff is friendly and take good care of you. While weve never have had to wait, to be seated, the place is busy mostly and always has a crowd. The patio is dog friendly and the staff is kind to get your pooch a bowl of water as well. However, the weather right now aint the best for patio dining. Theres parking available either behind or across the street behind existing buildings.

Nice spot on Markham Main, inside is a bit dated but the drinks are cheap and food is alright. Bit tougher to host bigger groups and there isnt much of a patio experience (at least nothing heated)- nice in the summertime.

I think that the bartender is way too overworked and has no assistance because she was very short with us and almost didnt serve us. We spent some time at the restaurant to catch up, but got rushed to get our and clear the area prior to closing time.

Always service with a smile. Brunch is great here.

There is so much I can say about this place but the one thing I will say if ur there on the right night u can have the best night of your life. The customers r amazing and the new bartenders r even better

Looks like the place might be good for breakfast, but was awful for dinner. Chicken tasted like it had been frozen and tossed in the microwave. Not hard to get chicken wings and a Buffalo wrap right but chalked it up to being COVID related (maybe short staff, less of a budget for quality food, etc) Waitress was nice and beer was cold but would not return.

The Banquet Burger was good! Server was friendly.

My boyfriend and I came Thursday evening for Karaoke. It was our first time here. The cook is a keeper our food was great we both enjoyed the calamari and burger. Your bartender was lovlely and van clearly hold her own against a rowdy crowd. Give them both a raise!!!. We will be coming back.

Family of 5 went for breakfast . The good: fadt friendly greeting and excellent service by the wait staff. We sat indoors as it we were warned that bees/wasps were on the patio - really appreciated the advanced warning. Our order was taken quickly and continued awesome service at the table. The bad: 2 orders of eggs Benedict came with the poached eggs being hard. We didnt want to wait for the kitchen to fix the order so we plowed through it. My Belgium waffles Supreme was ok but a bit dry - not enough whip cream for a quarter of the waffle and no syrup or sauce on top. The fruits were fresh and delicious though. Gave a generous tip nonetheless as the service was good.

Absolutely outstanding breakfast. Service was fairly good. Large portions, high-quality, tasted good, you will have leftovers takeout for sure. Good assortment of traditional and health-conscious choices. Free parking. Washrooms definitely need attention and renovation. Recommended.

The food was delicious! We had Burgers, notches and salads. The chef offered us a new desert just about to hit the menu. It was like a bread pudding with a caramel sauce, it was outstanding!

Visited the mansion for our first brunch there and it was FABULOUS! Service was warm, friendly and welcoming. We were seated in the sunroom which is a wonderful area surrounded by windows but a tad cold; our server brought over a portable heater which quickly remedied the situation -- AMAZING! Portions are huge - we enjoyed the Farmers Big Breakfast and the Mansion Super Breakfast. Both featured properly cooked to order eggs, really tasty home fries, bacon, sausage and an abundance of really fresh fruit. Prices accurately reflect the freshness and abundant portions. Casual atmosphere. Warm and attentive service. This neighbourhood gem is now our go-to spot for brunch, hands down.

Had the French connection with bacon and sausage and eggs poached. Usually not a fan of home fries but this place does it amazing. Also a big fan of the fruit diversity.

Customer service was not very good. The drinks took long and seemed like she forgot. The eggs were okay and no salt or pepper on the table.

Place is old and over priced

The place is very dirty and over priced for the quality and portion of food you get. I asked to speak to the manager or the owner about my under coocked meat and they were busy and couldn t attend our table despite us sitting there for one hour. Not recommended at all unless Someone is looking for a dungeon that smells and serves over priced food

I am looking forward to having my retirement shindig here. Always love my eggs benny. Just wish there was more on their menu at this time but I get it.

Very good food, especially the steak which was tasty and easy to cut. The prices are very affordable and portion sizes are big. Also I couldnt finish the meal and had to take it home, but the steak still tasted good when refrigerated and reheated in a microwave.

Excellent variety of breakfast/brunch options . Ive been coming to Mains Mansion with my family and extended family for 3 years now and I havent been disappointed with the food and very friendly and helpful staff . During these Covid times they are prepared with all the procedures that we can stop in have a bite indoors or on the patio . If you want to be filled with food that is healthy and delicious . I highly recommend this be a place to eat .

Food was good but the service was absolutely horrible. We had Kyle as are service and he was so slow getting us water and taking the order. We were not the only ones that had poor service. We enjoyed the food but between the slow service and bees on the patio it was not the relaxing meal we wanted.

Diet coke was flat. Hamburger was not tasty. The chandelier in the sunroom hadnt been dusted in ages. I would not go back.

Yesterday morning was the first time my kids and I went to this restaurant. The decor was very cozy and our waitress was patient and friendly as we were trying to make up our minds on what to order. The service was fast but the prices of some of the items were a bit pricey for brunch however, the portions were large. The quality of the food was good except for a few things. I ordered the Farmers Breakfast. The toast had barely any butter and the over easy eggs were cold and a bit undercooked, which is a health concern. I asked for more butter and mentioned that the eggs were cold. My toast was actually replaced but I guess the waitress didnt hear what I said about the eggs and thus, i didnt enjoy my eggs. I would give this restaurant another visit, but would try the lunch menu.

My new go-to spot for breakfast. The staff are super friendly, there s never a wait to get seated, the food is delicious AND they give you a ton of fruits. I must mention that the coffee is also really good. The atmosphere and music was also very enjoyable. Initially I went to Sunset Grill and after seeing a huge line I left. So happy I stopped by for breakfast. Will be coming back for sure!
