Thai Restaurant
One of the best Thai restaurants in GTA. This location is not that big so even on the weekdays I would recommend to make a reservation or arrive earlier than the dinner time to secure a spot. We ordered mango salad, chicken satay and Tum kha gai soup for starters. Everything was super flavourful. For main course we ordered pad Thai, cashew chicken and khao sew. Again very flavourful and big portions. Even the dessert was delicious, we ordered mango tapioca pudding and sticky rice with mango.
Sukhothai is one of my favourite Thai Fusion Restaurants. This is my first time at this location. The place is very spacious and has a nice, cozy vibe. We had a large party, the service was efficient & friendly. My favourite dishes are the khao soi with beef, calamari, the pla taud, the green curry with fish but all the dishes are very tasty, as well as the Thai iced tea. The only thing that was off was the thai iced tea ice cream for dessert, it had frost bite and wasn't creamy. I recommend this place and would continue to come here.
The food & service here was really good. Restaurant had a really cozy atmosphere. We ordered the shrimp rolls and fried calamari for our apps and the seafood was fresh! Mains were great too. First time trying this location (usually order from the one downtown) and had no regrets!
This was on a spur of the moment dinner idea to come here. It was a random pick for Thai restaurants and it was a great choice to come here. When we got here everyone was was seated inside, so we sat outside in the patio. It was very private and romantic and we enjoyed being the only ones having dinner outaide. It was perfect weather for dinner. We ordered Gai Satay (chicken screwers served with peanut sauce and pickled cocumber slices), Tom Yum Kung soup, Khao Soi (egg noodles served in curry gravy with chicken and topped with crispy noodles) and Cashew Chicken that came with a bowl of rice. Our food started to arrive not too long (10+ mins). The Gai was very tender and had enough taste without using the housemade peanut sauce but tasted even better with it. Tom Yum Kung soup has a strong taste but could need more lemongrass and shrimp flavor in the soup base to make it better. Originally I ordered the egg noodle with chicken in curry gravy and my wife ordered the Cashew Chicken but we both liked each other's dish more lol. Egg noodles with curry gravy (mild) had enough curry taste and egg noodles were firm and not soft to chew. The cmCashew Chickens sauce was so great on rice to eat... A little sweet but has flavor so it great on rice. We couldn't finish everything and had bring home leftovers. Service, friendliness and kitchen A++ It was great to eat here. I will come back to try other dishes and I hope....some dessert if we aren't too full already.
Not worth the hype if there is any. Went on a Sunday night without reservation and they said it was fully booked/would be a long wait. Ended up sitting at the bar as there was no wait and was available. Food took a while to get here. While waiting, I couldn’t help but stare at the mass amounts of fruit flies swarming one of the areas in their bar. Food arrived and found their tofu to be dry and have no taste. The Pad Thai was just alright. Only good take away was the green curry brisket we ordered. My experience definitely made it to be not my first choice Thai place.
First time at this place and it was an overall great experience. Staff is courteous and friendly and the atmosphere on the patio was great. We ordered calamari and crispy shrimp rolls for appetizers (not pictured) and they were alright. That’s the 4/5 but most of the main courses were really delicious. The red curry was alright. The khao soi with braised beef was EXQUISITE - amazing broth, pull apart beef, and great noodles. The chicken pad Thai was the star of the show though. Portion was really good, flavors unmatched, and a generous amount of chicken. The Thai iced tea was a crowd favorite with my group as well.
Calamari was excellent! Curry menu provides spicy level which is great for people who can’t eat too spicy. Pad Thai was overcooked, other than that overall was delicious! Enjoyed Thai iced tea, recommend to order this! Service was great, the place is cozy, wouldn’t recommend group of people (over 6) for weekends.
We ordered a calamari, shrimp rolls and chicken wings as appetizers. All of them were freshly prepared and they were steaming. Calamari was soft. Shrimp rolls were yummy. There was nothing special about the wings. They all came with the same dipping sauces. Their curries were pretty good. The Thai fried rice was a bit blend. Service was good. They have a big patio but we sat inside this time. Plenty of parking.
Love the green curry, thai basil noodles, and khao suey!
Nobody checked on food, left me. Taste like they warmed up stuff from 2 cans. My guava drink is from a bottle. I can buy from store. Half the glass was ice. Food : 2/5
We decided to celebrate my nieces birthday with a lunch, and while the food was excellent, we were disappointed to be charged a $20 fee for bringing and cutting our own cake especially since the cake itself cost only $8. Unfortunately, I wouldn t recommend this spot for birthday celebrations.

Always a great dining experience everytime I go here! Great food and friendly courteous service. Definitely recommend.
The food, the drinks, the atmosphere are all impeccable. I ve been multiple times and have never been disappointed with anything I ve ordered. This is an amazing choice for dinner if you re dining in or doing take out
Chicken Khao Soi was sooooo good!
Sukhothai - Markham Location When we recently ate at Sukhothai it offered an authentic Thai dining experience with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The menu features a variety of dishes, authentic and fusion with standout items like Khao Soi, Lemongrass Fish and the Grabong. The staff service is super friendly and attentive, and the restaurant provides good quality ingredients and portion sizes. Whether you re a casual diner or looking to celebrate with a special meal, Sukhothai is a solid choice for delicious Thai food in Markham and the GTA. Highly recommended and definitely check out their other locations too.
Great dining experience! Great food, service and atmosphere. Ordered the Nua Gra Teaum with beef, and the Thai Fried Rice with beef both were delicious! Highly recommend.
Fantastic service and delicious food.
Excellent service and quality of food! Glad there is a great Thai option here in Markham. I had Thai fried rice (vegetable) while my wife ordered a Thai chicken pad tai. Throw in a Thai ice tea and our dinner was set! Try it out.
I enjoyed this location much more than the downtown one. I personally found the food here to be better as well. Food was delicious and service was great.
This a perfect spot for a High School Reunion. The food was great and the service was fantastic. Our server had a large crowd to manage and he was great!!
I can say this was a hidden gem. We randomly craved Thai food and drove an hour to this location and I cannot beleive what an amazing time we had here. I met John there who greeted me and just sent out good vibes from the second I entered. Then the food is second to none and super authentic. The Thai food was amazing and full of flavours. I would go back in a heart beat just to have the beef fresh rolls and chicken pad gra pow again. 2 thumbs up to the team at sukhothai!
Enjoyed my Birthday with my family
Food was Amazing. Thomas was our host and he was excellent. Quite the one man army. Highly recommend the Khao Soi.
Good food and very friendly waiters Will visit again whenever visiting Markham..
Great place to eat highly recommend the spring rolls!
The food is always incredible and light and healthier than other Thai restaurants. My favourites are the mango salad, cashew chicken, gaeng paneng red curry, tofu bites, any spring rolls (fresh, fried, shrimp), lemongrass fish and the mango rice dessert. I noticed over the summer they introduced happy hour cocktails for $9. The Bangkok Sunset and Ruby Red are my favourites They also have food on the happy hour menu with half-off appetizers and rotating menu items (eg. Chicken red curry) Sukhothai is my go to place for authentic Thai food, 10/10 would definitely recommend. Servers are nice, kitchen staff are quick and patio is great for summer. I also recently went to Karaoke night and it was really fun! (First Thursday each month 8:30pm-11:30pm)
I just recently found out that Sukhothai had a location relatively closer to my area and was so excited. Never been to a Sukhothai before but have been to PAI, Khao San Road and Sabai Sabai many times in the past so I had great expectations ... and they did not disappoint! Ive ordered twice now and I cant say enough that the quality and taste was on point! Thank you for thinking of customers who live in the suburbs!
I love the food here, but was really disappointed when I arrived to see this. Hope you are opened again soon.
I didnt personally go, but my friend recommended it, so Im looking forward to checking it out soon!
Dietary restrictions: I was able to remove egg to make my dish vegan and accommodate an egg allergy Food
The Tom yum soup is spot on. Khao soi and red Thai chicken has the right spice level and real taste of Thailand. Fried Basa fish didn t feel right as it was drenched in oil.
I had visited all their locations in DT and enjoyed their food at each site! Recently found out they opened one at Markham! I went with my parents and hubby two weeks ago and we enjoyed all the dishes we ordered! Will definitely come back again!
I love creamy yellow curry and this place satisfies that craving. I mainly go for lunch. The service is amazing and it s so close to home that I love I don t have to head downtown for really good Thai food.
Beef Khao soi and beef
This place is horrible, the portions are for toddler and there very overpriced, avoid going dont give your hard earned money to this restaurant
I lived in DT and use to go to their location on Parliament Street all the time. Their food was like no other Thai food I ve tasted before and they were really popular. I moved out of DT and been craving their food. I happen to be in Scar and dropped by to get my usual favorites. The Sukothai pad thai was a disappointment and not how it use to be- so disappointed! Their spring rolls were just as good as I remembered. Fried shrimp was fine. Also, ordered cashew chicken and that was shitty. They are super over priced, tiny portions and not great quality. My craving is over- they have gone down hill in recent years and ill never go outta my way to eat there again. Not worth it.
Outstanding taste. Loved it.
Really good food and service
Pretty disappointing takeout experience. Maybe not a good idea to takeout calamari---chewy and cut up in large chunks. Fried wings--- tasteless and soggy. Fried shrimp--- dried and overfried from an old oil? Satay chicken--- dried up as well Saving grace was the tufo pad thai and khao soi ---decent taste. It might just be an off night for the chef.
Food was great as always! Squash fritters are my all time favourite and pad gra praw is to die for. Be wary about the spice level :D
Great food and pretty good service, considering how busy they were. My go to and favourite is the Khao Soi. Will be back again!
$20-30 pp after tax ordered green curry, pad thai with beef, nua gua tarem with beef & pad gra prow with chicken beef could have been a little bit more tender Not enough rice for the green curry Getting here isnt convenient with all the construction on steeles However it is one of the better Thai places in the area. They also feature cocktails 5/7 days of the week
Ordered on uber eats the b1g1 curry . Asked for thai spicy but instead got mild, very mild no spice which was really disappointing has Ive been looking for a thai restaurant that offered thai spicy. Nonetheless the curry was good but lacked spicy by a lot which made my dinner disappointing.
Great service. Delicious food. Decorated well.
Refreshing to see such an amazing customer service! The Environment is cozy and comfortable! Food
My favourite go to comfort food spot. Whenever I m unsure of what I m in the mood for I go here they can modify the spice level the protein in every dish. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Food is consistently delicious!
Always a great visit. Service is quick and attentive, we had a great person taking care of us today, unfortunately, we didn t get his name. We ordered grabong, garlic shrimp, mango salad and the coconut soup, all were good, albeit the soup was slightly on the sour side. Green shrimp curry, fish, pad pra grow, khai soi, mango sticky rice, all delicious. Place gets hopping so a reso is a good idea, but they accommodated us on very short notice on a Saturday, so double thumbs up!
Delicious food but a little disappointed in the soup which was better the first time I had it. Everything else very good. Very friendly and accommodating waiter. Vegetarian options: Lots Dietary restrictions: Can order each order vegan
Youwu Yingxi Hao la za
Ordered takeout from here. Food was delicious. We got the chicken fried rice and chicken panang curry. Flavours were perfect on both. They gave plain white rice with the curry. They also provided a fish sauce kind of condiment which didnt taste too good and we were not sure what it was meant for. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you like Thai food.
I love Sukho Thai! I was the most thrilled to learn of a location in Markham/Scarborough, now I visit monthly. I recommend everyone try the calamari, the curries, and the Khao soi... everything is very good! I recently tried the Thai Iced Tea Gelato... AMAZING. I told Jon I need the menu to be updated, we need a Thai Iced Tea pitcher! and a Thai Iced Tea Float with the Gelato!
I drove 30 minutes to get this food. We had chicken satay (the peanut sauce is killer), chicken khao soi, pad thai and thai fried rice. To use the word sublime would be to understate how awesome this food is. If you ever have a chance to come here, please do. The flavors are balanced, spicy without being too hot (we had medium), and the portions are surprisingly large. It is just as good as the one downtown, I would say better, since I never have to wait too long when I dine in. Parking: Steeles ave is under construction, but the parking lot is accessible if you turn at the light.
I have been to this local sukhoTHAI location many times, and I really enjoyed the food, service, and atmosphere! The staff are very friendly and attentive. I love sitting at the outdoor patio (pet-friendly!) under the beautiful fairy lights in the evening ^^ Highly recommend: - Fresh Rolls - Pad Kee Mao - Panang Salmon - Ube Cassava Cake I want to take this time to praise the kitchen team for taking my food restrictions seriously; the team listens and delivers! They are able to do non-spicy; Im quite sensitive. I personally do find that the stir-fried entrees are on the oily side (bc when you stir-fry, you need oil to do so). I asked for less oil, and the kitchen was able to do so as well. Thank you! Ill definitely be back again to try more items! Keep up the great work ^^
Food is good but the service ain t . Hate the fact that the waiters also automatically add 18% tip . Why are we being forced to tip for bad service ???? This makes me not want to visit the restaurant ever . You can have good food but if your staff ain t trained no one would want to come here
Ordered take out (pick up): khao soi, pad thai, crispy spring rolls, ube cassava cake. Pad thai, khao soi, ube cassava were ok. What was terrible was how oily the crispy spring rolls were and the crispy egg noodles that came with the khao soi. It felt like they went straight from the deep fryer to the take out bag, no oil soaking was done. When we bit into the crispy spring roll, oil was literally gushing out from it. Maybe food quality is better with dine-in
The place to be. Epic service. Friendly staff. Delicious food, and drinks. If you love music, if you love to sing too. then reserve the 1st Thursdays of every month with SukhoTHAI in Markham from 8:00pm to 12:00am Dont miss out!
The restaurant forgot to mention the 20% gratuity when we booked our reservation. If the service hadn t been lackluster, we might have overlooked this mistake. Our server consistently forgot to refill our water and did not serve our meals correctly, which created confusion at our table. I receive better service at Chinese restaurants where aunties and uncles take the 10% with a smile on their hardworking and wrinkled faces. Can these Gen Z waiters be a bit more professional? So, excuse me for asking, but why does the owner of this establishment believe they can charge a mandatory 20% tip? Servers need a bit of training before demanding that amount. FYI, we had one server assigned to our table. Why is that for a party of 10? There was one waiter on her laptop for some reason Great service. She was probably busy updating her Spotify playlist than being a server. Let me know if you need any further changes!
I still enjoy the food there when I need a Thai fix, but it can be pricy especially in comparison to how much food you actually get. Restaurant itself is visually beautiful.
Came here because of the food, but I have to say the service is amazing. They re polite, on time, and know have a hospitable vibe to them. I took my coworkers here recently for a team dinner and everyone was blown away from the experience. Even the music was on point. I know you don t go to a restaurant because of the music but if you like 90 s/2000 s R&B the person on the aux knows what s up. Overall great experience and defiantly a solid recommendation.
Good food served cold and not generous helpings
The fresh roll shrimp doesnt seems fresh, the skin usually should be clear when wrapped but noticed that it was thick and dry which doesnt worth $13. The pad thai portion was good but the taste was a bit little acid. We take home the extra noodles and while eating, we found eggshell... The cashew chicken , not sure why it taste weird and very sweet... Spend 70$
Been here multiple times and the food and service was great every time. The panang curry was a group favorite
Limeade tasted like bliss on a hot day, and the fried basa fish was cooked to perfection! Thank you Jon for your great vibes!
This place is a GEM! Green curry and Fried Calamary are my to go from the menu. I am happy Sukhothai sponed thisnlocation whick is close to my place. I was welcomed with a friendly and professional service. Thank you John for your amazing service I am certainly coming back!
Great place to eat. Food was outstanding and the service even better. Stephanie, Joni, and Jon were all so great. Can t wait to go back!
The staff serving us were amazing, we got assisted by Joni, Stephanie and Jon. The food was amazing, and the atmosphere was very inviting. Will be visiting more often.
Hands down my favorite Thai place in the GTA, consistent quality with their downtown location! HIGHLY recommend pad thai, masaman are my favorites and their chili oil is awesome!
Great service - Celiste helped our table of 16 with great service and answered all our inquiries with no problem !! And of course the food was amazing
Great ambience ! Great food! Thank you Celeste for amazing service.
We had a great night. Our server was amazing. Shout out to Celeste for excellent service and taking a beautiful group photo of us. Can t wait to come again! Highly recommend this location
Very friendly and patient service from Celeste! I placed a takeout order over the phone and she answered all my questions. The food was also amazing.
Great experience. John our server was amazing and very kind.
Great time with my family this weekend. Dad has mobility issues but staff was very accommodating to our needs. John and his staff did a wonderful job during our visit; Celeste provided great recommendations and made our visit wonderfully enjoyable. Food is definitely a 5 star. Cheers!
Vegetarian options: Good vegetarian options. Nothing outstanding vs other Thai restaurants Parking: Good sized parking lot for patrons
Really good food and fairly new spot. Hidden gem in Markham
Ordered Ubereats and surprisingly found hair in one of the spring rolls in the first bite. The order comes with 3 rolls after finding the hair, I feel hesitate to eat the rest so not sure if every roll would include one. Absolutely disgusting and unacceptable! You gotta be careful about your delivery orders!
Great Thai restaurant in the area! Food is always so good every time I come. Service is great too. Be sure to make a reservation if you re planning to come on a weekend as it can get really busy.
Overall tasty food, some items could be better but too costly. For the price one expects something fancier.
UberEats order: They literally gave one spoonful of Jasmine rice as the companion for all that sauce perhaps because it was a buy 1 get 1 free deal. This was what they provided for $26+ Why a restaurant would cheap out on something as cheap as white rice is something I cannot understand.
Really good Thai food. The red curry and the khao soi noodles are exceptional!! . The pad thi is delicious but more sour than what I typically used to
They have daily cocktails specials! Sunday is $8 mojitos. Also highly recommend making reservations as it s usually busy during peak dinner time Appetizer: calamari, lettuce cups, chicken satay, tasting platter Curries: green curry with chicken Noodles: pad kee mao with beef, sukhothai pad thai Mains: khao soi with chicken, nua gra teaum Recommend all except for the tasting platter - it comes with a soup (not pictured) but still don t think it s worth for its price
1 star because 0 is not an option
So good and everyone is so nice! Love the patio. Mango salad and green curry are so good.
First time visiting and plan to come back again. Went with a large 17 person group (note automatic gratuity is 20% for groups of 10 or more). The Lemongrass Fish is excellent (unexpectedly so). All the dishes we tried were good to very good: Pad Thai, Panang Curry, Pad Gra Prow, Mango Salad, Satay Chicken Skewers. Note that they do not accept cash.
Made a reservation a week before for 20 people and crossed my fingers they would take us since we were a big group. The reservation went so smoothly - they were able to meet all my requests (patio seating, separate bills and hold a cake for me). Not only did they seat us comfortably and checked on us frequently, but the food also came fairly quick (all piping hot too) and not a single missed dish or drink. My friends loved the food, ambiance and service and even said they will definitely be back (even more so because it s close to Scarborough). I definitely have Jenny, John and the rest of their team that night to thank for such a successful dinner. I ve been to this specific location a couple of times already and the service and quality of food has been consistent which is why I keep coming back. If you re craving thai or looking for a restaurant to celebrate any occasion - I highly recommend this one.
I cannot explain how good this food was. Having lived in Bangkok for years, I have yet to find truly authentic Thai food in Northern America. The Pad Krapow was 100% authentic, the Dtom Kha Gai was 100% authentic. Just superb and would take anyone willing there for dinner so they can experience true Thai cuisine. Wish I lived closer.
Worse dining recently, you can easily find better Thai food in the area. - Definitely not authentic ! If you haven t been to Thailand before , this will be your best choice. - They charge 6ppl 18%, 10 ppl 20% tips. But there is no service at all. Our server just disappeared after taking our orders. - Food came bit by bit. Waited for a very long time between dishes. - They even charge $0.5 for chilly oil
Horrible experience. I called ahead and asked to make a reservation. I was told they re fully booked but are accepting walk ins and there was no wait time. I walk in at 6:20 and get told they re fully booked and the next walk in table will be available at 8:15. Unacceptable!! Horrible customer service and an overall horrible experience. Do better SukoThai!
It was my first time trying them, and I must say that the food and packaging were both amazing. I tried Thai food in other places before, but this was the best Ive ever had. The lady who gave me my order was so nice that I couldnt be happier with the experience.
Amazing hospitality from Christian.
Highly recommended very tasty food!!
Great customer service. Amazing food and drinks. Manager Christian was amazing he took care of us really well.
Great food, and amazing service.
Excellent management, super yummy food. If you want to experience thai food in the best possible way, this is the place. Christian, the manager is kind and accommodating. He is also a very fun person to talk to and will suggest you some modified drinks based on your preference.
Had a great experience here, great restaurant setting and ambience. Would come here again, tried different types of food from chicken to beef to shrimp. All were tasty. Calamari was cooked really well and not chewy and had a good fried crunch to it. Green Curry mild was just the right spice and not too spicy, just the right amount of sweetness to it as well Alcohol options were good too. Sangria was very flavourful and sweet with lychee flavour Milktea with alcohol was tasty as well but dont let it sit or else it eventually becomes bitter, lychee sangria was better.
super disappointed coming here the other day. The restaurant is decorated really well but the food and service did not match the environment. There was two servers (one tall guy and another girl with glasses), they were super slow and kept ignoring our table. I came around 6:30 PM on a weekday and it was not busy, I waited 20 minutes for a water, and i did not feel welcome at this restaurant one bit. As for the food, the portions are very little and there was little to no taste. Super oily padthai and everything on the menu is super overpriced for what its worth. Drive down 5 minutes to go to Koh Lipe or something.. they have similar pricing and the food and service is actually there. No disrespect to the servers that were working there but If you are working a customer service position there should be service.
Outstanding meal.
Whoaaaa...this place is da bomb. Food was fantastic, the portion size is very generous for the curry and lots of protein in there. Just a bit stingy on the rice. Like come on, I came to a chinese restaurant, give me my rice!
Just another greasy hole in the wall. Had a chrispy shrimp that was fried in BAD oil. Should not have been served. The service staff are very friendly and nice.
Green curry with their white rice was amazing.
Great thai food , ambiance and service! Would recommend if you re down to try some unique cuisine:)
Super friendly and attentive servers and food was bomb
Great Thai restaurant in the area. The owners are very enthusiastic and have great service. Must try their soup and curry. Very authentic tastes
My first experience at this place was great. I liked the khao soi the best out of the ones my family and I got. I also liked the vibe of the place too. In terms of the service, it was pretty nice as well. I was served by Franchezka and she accomadated my family and I exceptionally well. If I were to come here back next time, I would want to be served by her again.
This was the best place to eat when I m feeling like eating Thai food. The waitress named Franchezka provided an excellent service and was really attentive to my needs. She improved my overall experience at this restaurant, and a well deserved 5 star.
Our server Francesca very good. She explained menu clearly and helped give suggestions. Very attentive. Food was good for price. Salmon was delicious
I dined in around 2 hours ago with my family and my server Franchezka had amazing service. She was phenomenal help when ordering. We got 2 khao soi beef and she made sure that our dietary accommodations were met. The food came fast and had pretty good portions but my favourite part was how good it tasted. Franchezka also made sure that everything was alright multiple times and I would definitely come here again. Dietary restrictions: Halal
I recently ate at SukhoTHAI, the staff was knowledgeable, Francesca was my server and she gave me great recommendations from their menu. Looking forward to returning!
Keith was amazing. He made excellent suggestions for our first time at the restaurant. Great service and the food was exceptional.
Keith was awesome! Great food and great value for th money! Food
KEITH was Great !
Pad Thai was incredible. The service was great as well. Thank you Keith!!
Keith served us this evening and was great and attentive. We ordered green curry with stewed beef, their pad Thai, the lemongrass fish, garlic fried tofu, and Tom yum Kong soup. The deep fried tofu was really well made, it was crispy and the side sauce was both sweet and spicy. The highlight was the lemongrass fish, it was deep fried crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Surprisingly very filling. Since its deep fried, I wouldnt recommend ordering it to go as it wouldnt be crispy by they time you get home. Would come back. Vegetarian options: Tofu
The food was delicious and Keith s was very friendly and even gave us awesome recommendations
Nice staff and delicious foods. Highly recommend.
Good food and they were very accomodating with all our requests. Thankyou guys!
Came at 5pm on a saturday afternoon, super early and no wait time. Waitress was kind and took the orders quickly. Thai iced tea tastes very standard, a little sweet Khao soi chicken salad and khao soi were delicious. Definitely a must have when coming here. The chicken was cooked perfectly tender. Lemongrass fish and beef pad thai were good, but more standard in their flavours as the other thai restaurants in markham. Had the seasonal mango dessert. It was good, not too sweet for the purple rice.
Excellent food and great service. Highly recommended.
I was shocked at the quantity of food we got for $102 the takeout portions are terribly disappointing. I was expecting a lot more food for what we paid.
Good ambiance and good food. It s located in a small plaza with ample of parking spots. Came here with my parents and brother and had a good dinner. Servers were all polite and attentive throughout the dinner. We ordered the beef khao soi, Thai fried rice chicken, grabong, crispy tofu and curry rice. Each dish was good. The only dish I did somewhat felt like it lacked some taste was the khao soi than most Thai restaurants I ve tried however nonetheless the portion size were generous and had lots of chunks of beef brisket. Overall enjoyed dinner here and would come again.
Second strike for the restaurant. Food arrived exactly 1 hour after we stepped into the restaurant. The server forgot to place our order. Cant blame him. 2 people were managing the entire restaurant. But it did turn a family meal into a miserable waiting game. Then they got the wrong dish. We didnt care any longer, and ate it. The salmon was overdone. Dry and tough. Food was below par, as always. Dont think we will ever go there again.
Not the best location, chicken app was great as always, noodles were over done in Khao Soi Dietary restrictions: Halal menu
Great vibe, loved the food and nice to see downtown restaurants making their way up into Markham. Would definitely come back here.
Had a great time trying out sukhoTHAI last night! The food was delicious and creamy. Pictured are the foods I could remembered to take photos of: lettuce cups, gaeng kiaw wan with chicken (chicken green curry). We also got the calamari, khao soi, and beef pad kee mao. I would say the foods on the same level as other chains like Jathujak. Timely service and the atmosphere was busy (but loud enough for privacy when talking in a group). Parking: Lots of parking in the plaza. You can also park down the street in the local neighbourhood (free until 1-2am I believe) and walk into the plaza.
Very tasty food! Service was good as well and everything tasted fresh. The place looks very cute as well. Definitely will come back!
i came here on Wednesday night to have dinner with my family.. when we walked into the restaurant, it looked magnificent and everyone was getting there food ouut quickly. as i was observing while i was waiting to get a table, i saw this lady walk in and out of the kitchen. she glanced over at me and my family at least 5 times and did not care to serve us a table. it has been at least 15 minutes, then as soon as a guy came out of the kitchen she ran over to us to give us a table. service from her is reallllll bad.
Wonderful experience! Food were prepared quickly and was very delicious. I highly recommend the tom yum soup and khao soi.
We had an amazing experience, was there with my family, music was great, there was an upbeat vibe. The service was exceptional and we were so well taken care of. I must say the food was much above the mark. This was our first time and we are now big fans of the place. I would highly recommend for dates, families and gatherings with friends. The place is trendy and thriving!!! Vegetarian options: My wife is vegetarian and very picky, they passed the test!!! Dietary restrictions: Vegan options are abundant and they are very transparent about information Kid-friendliness: My kids didn t stop swiping the candy :)
I am fan of SukoThai s khao soi, and this was my first visit to the Markham location. Beautiful! Cozy and warm environment. Ordered my favorite Chicken Khao Soi and cocktail of the day ($8) - Lemongrass Mojito. The mojito wad a slight disappointment. I expected more lemongrass..tasted more like a lemonade. Vegetarian options: Many items can be switched with veggies/tofu options.
This place is like a 3.5/5 stars. Located in the plaza where Day & Night Angus Steakhouse used to be, the resto is moderately sized. The plaza it sits in has quite a lot of parking so that shouldnt be an issue. My gf and I arrived on a thurs night w/ no reservation at around 7:10pm and were seated within 10 min on the patio (which is massive btw). We ordered only 2 items as we expected huge portions (having eaten at BKK Thai a month ago). Beef pad thai: Good flavour, nice tang. Not in the same league as the pad thai at Chiang Rai. Some of the noodles were slightly overcooked imo. But the authenticity was there. Chicken khao soi: The mild spice lvl was actually tolerable for my gf for once LOL. The chicken was moist and cooked so well. The broth was layered out the wazoo. I was expecting quality commensurate w/ Pai downtown. After all, the owners of Pai were the ones who opened this place! Ive gotta say, it doesnt quite meet the same bar that Pai has set. Maybe its the inflated pricing and the smaller than normal portions? This place is good in terms of authenticity but quite honestly, it doesnt stack up to BKK Thai, Isaan Der, Chiang Rai or dare I say, even JATUJAK in terms of value. I will say the khao soi broth did have the same flavour as the one at Pai though, so thats a huge plus. And they also had some really interesting cocktails that looked tempting.
I am very happy to know that sukho THAI has opened up a location in Markham which is very close to my house. The first time I tried was the original location on Parliment. I fell in love after the first bite. I can still remember the Khao Soi I had 15 years ago! The food at the Markham location didnt disappoint us. We ordered Tom Yum soup, Pad Thai, Panang curry with beef brisket and Thai iced tea. Everything was very flavourful and tasty. Portion was generous. I have tried most of the thai restaurants in Markham & Richmond Hill and Sukho Thai is still my most favourite! Josephine welcomed us with a lovely smile and she delievered a friendly yet professional service. She was attentive and took her time to get to know the customers and explained our questions. Thank you for your great service! I would definitely come back here more often. If you are reading this, hope you will enjoy the most of it as well!
So happy to have Sukothai open a branch of their restaurants in the area. The food was perfect and probably the best Thai food in the area. We ordered the Pad Kee Mao, it was superb! The noodles were not soggy, wet, overly saucy, or broken up. Portion was decent with enough meat and vegetables in the stir fry. The Nua Gra Teaum was great as well, delicious tender beef slices. Our server was Jospehine. She was really friendly, attentive, and kept our water filled with a smile. She also took the time to chat with us and explained how they would be able to accommodate for peanut allergies which we were relieved to hear as one of our kids has that. Definatley coming back here more often! Dietary restrictions: They can accommodate for allergies and gluten free.
Come across that they have a new location in Scarborough. I always went to their downtown location and so excited to try. I tried the fresh shrimp roll and Thai beer. Overall, it is an average when compared with downtown. The price is quite expensive in Scarborough. I know the price is standard but expected few items are cheaper... Anyways, if you are living close, it is nice to have a Thai restaurant other than Chinese food.
Ordered the wings, pad kra pao (minced chicken with holy basil) and pad thai. Wings were crispy and well marinated - some reviews said flavour was lacking but I didnt think so. It also came with a cucumber vinaigrette dipping sauce but there was more bell pepper in it than cucumber. The pad kra pao had a lot of wok hay. Wasnt too saucy, a bit skimpy on the basil though. Pad thai was decent overall but a bit too sweet. Wanted to try the sticky mango rice but they didnt have it :(. Service was fast and polite.
Im not even going to talk about the food. Dont bother coming here if you expect any level of service other than getting a table. had to waive down a waitress to order, waive down a waitress to get the bill, waive down a waitress to get a machine for the bill, and then finally waive down a waitress to ask for the machine AGAIN. 20min after initially asking for the bill, we were finally out of there. I originally planned on coming back to try more items on their menu. However, after that 20 minutes of watching literally every staff ignore us, there is no need to come back or recommend this place. In fact, Im sure I couldve left and no one wouldve known. This entire meal, we didnt even get water refills. I watched 3 staff behind the bar cleaning and doing nothing else. I watched a staff leave for the day and 3-4 other staff running around serving just about everyone else. The only good thing was the food the chefs made. The portions were very decent. Its a nice place, but someone needs to do something with service training. Not really sure what on earth they were doing. or maybe i was expecting too much. dunno.
I had dinner there at a Sunday night. Since we didnt book a table, we sat at the bar. Which we had no problem with. Food was okay. The fried chicken wing was for sure very crispy but lacks a bit flavour. The pad Thai was overwhelmed with tamarind flavour, quite sour (not sure if they were trying to go for a different regional version of pad Thai in Thailand). Overall, food has no wow factor, you can get better and cheaper thai food somewhere else in Scarborough. Food here is expensive. Averaging 20$ a dish. A party of 6 is subjected to 18% tip and party of 10 and more is 20%. We were a table of two and their suggested tip rate on the card machine starts at 18%. Just my opinion but it felt a little unreasonable to have 18% as the first option when 18% is subjected to a party of 6 or more. Service was a mess. There were at least 5 people work on the floor that night but no one seem to be paying attention to us at the bar. I made eye contacts with two servers to suggest request of service but both ignored me and turned away. I saw other tables would get their cups of water refilled automatically but we were neglected. We asked for the bill three times and it took a total of 20 mins for someone to come over with a machine. Meanwhile, many servers were chitchating behind the bar.
Takeout experience, food was really good! I need to come back for a dine-in experience, but the atmosphere looked great. Parking: Available parking in front of sukhoTHAI, no space issues.
We ordered chicken satay/skewers, chicken khao soi, and cashew chicken that comes with jasmine rice. Chicken satay and khao soi were the best. The service is excellent and the restaurant itself is great. Must try for halal Thai food.
Great place, service and pricing. However, compared to any other Thai restaurant in Toronto the quality of food and flavour doesn t quite measure up.
4th visit within last 6months and found the same excellent service, friendly staff and most importantly delicious food. Will definitely recommend and will come again hungry for more. And best part among all else is that they serve Halal food.
This restaurant is pretty good. Realistically a 3.5/5 stars if I could. In my opinion kind of expensive for what it was. I ordered a drink and it was VERY sour, definitely not worth the price I paid. But the bartender was very nice and tried to fix it, was still sour though. Food wise, Ingredients were very fresh and main dishes were very flavourful. However, it seemed as though the appetizers/shareables weren t mind blowing in flavour. If I were to come back, it would be for the khao soi and calamari!
Beware of this place if you have allergies! Their sister restaurant Pai accommodated my shrimp allergy by making a vegan version of the curry sauce fresh. This place does no such substitutions. We asked multiple servers who checked multiple times and gave us all different answers. Other restaurants weve been to can give a more accurate answer. The servers also forgot to bring my husbands drink and the chili sauce that we asked for. Pad Kee Mao - 2/5. Was expecting actual flat rice noodles like at Khao San Road downtown. It was just pad Thai noodles repackaged. Massaman Curry - 1/5. It was pure sugar. My husband made this on a food tour in Chiang Mai and it was not like this at all. It tasted like it was reheated, the potato was not even cooked in the sauce. Overall, weve had better at food courts compared to this. My lips feel inflamed, and Im lucky that Im not deathly allergic to shrimp. We will not be returning. Dietary restrictions: They do not accommodate curries.
The food is ok, The sister restaurant pai has way better food. This was, grab ingredients poor over sauce and serve. I suspect the sauce came out of a bag. My wife has shrimp allergy and 90% of the menu had shrimp paste. Other places can accommodate because they actually cook fresh food. Im really disappointed, we went in thinking it was a good restaurant. This is a nice cafeteria. Perfect mall food. Sorry I wont be back. Ill still go to the sister restaurant. That place is 5/5 star
My friend took me to this location, and having been to your previous establishments, Ive always enjoyed the diverse Thai food offerings. I allowed her to place the order, and everything was delicious and well-prepared, much like your other locations. The Basa fish, a new experience for me, turned out to be the best Ive ever had. The service was excellent; the staff was attentive, and the ambiance was very pleasant. Eagerly anticipating my next visit.
10/10 We love the bartender Thomas and, the service. Very nice people
Dinner experience was pretty good. Ordered the Tom Yom, massaman chicken curry and the whole fried Basa. The soup was a knockout - a really complex broth that is extremely flavorful, generous with shrimp and other ingredients. The small portion is a good starter portion to share of your ordering a big main. The curry, like the soup, is an expert combination of flavours. This is a kitchen that really knows its stuff. The medium spiciness brings a good deal of heat, so be prepared. The Basa fillet is also a really good dish, and I would choose this over a fish and chips any day. The fish is crispy outside, tender on the inside, and didnt get soggy as the meal progressed. With a generous portion of rice and a really tasty mango salad, it was satisfying. A 4.4 review for an great dining experience. It is probably one of the top 10 thai places in Toronto. Vegetarian options: Tofu and veggies options available
Giving it only 3/5 stars because the mango sticky rice a bit disappointing. They used canned mangos, not fresh which definitely impacts the flavour. The rice and coconut was good, but canned mango is weird lol
The food was great. The price was comparable to other Thai restaurants, and the portion sizes and presentation of the food were good. The curry was very flavourful and there were many pieces of chicken. The salmon was cooked perfectly, with crispy skin and tender fish. There was leftover curry and the servers were very kind to offer containers to take them home. The decor and atmosphere were very authentic.
What ever v ordered, all were tasty. V recommend this Thai restaurant compare to others.
My personal favorite Thai place and one of my all time fav restaurants. Their Thai Fried Rice, Nua Gra Teaum and Masaman Curry is out of this world. This is their new location. Very icely decorated. Overall amazing! Our server Keith was very friendly and nice.
Wasnt busy for for lunch service but the food was great. Ordered Khao Soi, Green Curry, Thai fried rice, and Pad Thai. Authentic and just as good as the DT locations. Glad theres another Thai food option uptown.
Speedy service, excellent spice and flavour. Cute décor, a wide variety of options on their 1 page menu (back and front) Friend had the khao soi, and I had their Nua Gra Teaum. Will go back to try their green curry, pad thai and SPIKED thai iced tea from their beautiful looking bar.
This is a very good place in the heart of Markham. As a person who eats Halal, Im very happy that everything was Halal! One thing is that I hope they wouldnt have tons of alcohol. But I loved it! The calamari and garlic chicken nuggets were top-tier. The soup and pad thai was really good! Overall would recommend. Vegetarian options: You could ask if they had Gluten-free or vegan options. Parking: Maybe aroung 10-15 spots available.
We order fresh spring rolls and mango salad to start. Very good. The curry was phenomenal! Thick and creamy with a good coconut base. I got the beef and it was very tender. My wife got the khao soi. She loved it. It had a distinct lemongrass flavour. All the dishes had a good amount of heat. Would definetely come back.
The spicy Khao Soi changed my life.
Best Thai food in Markham!
What a fantastic gem in our neighbourhood! The staff are very personable, knowledgeable with their offerings. Especially John, Keith and Pam. The food is absolutely delicious! Sukhothai gives you a reason to come back week after week for delicious food. The pictures speak for themselves.
Comparing to other Thai restaurants, this one doesnt have any dishes that stand out; however, all of the dishes we ordered tasted good so I give it a 4 star.
The food is tasty, and the servers are sweet! We ordered the calamari (was okay), grabong (delicious squash frites), spicy chicken Thai fried rice (reminded me of egg fried rice; it was tasty, but nothing special), and lemongrass fish (amazing! It was cooked and seasoned really well! Also, its a whole fish, not pieces!), and she sangria pitcher (delicious! It was a lychee and white wine mix, not too sweet. So refreshing and definitely gave me ideas for a summer drink!). I would definitely recommend!
I had an amazing time at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious and portions are great. The overall experience was top-notch. Ill definitely be coming back for more fantastic meals and exceptional service!
This place is so cute, reat service, and the food is pretty good! If you arent into spicy I dont suggest medium. If you are, medium is good and I recommend getting the chili oil on the side. We got the padthai and Khao soy.
The food was amazing, very flavourful and fresh and the staff were very friendly. Service was incredible as well.
I really wanted to give this Sukhothai a great review because I love the downtown location but this location s food doesn t stack up. The food is nowhere near as good as the Wellington location. We got the garlic beef and it tasted like it had gone bad. Really disappointing. That said, the service was amazing. Everyone was very attentive, friendly and helpful and the restaurant itself is beautiful.
The food was very disappointing, the other locations serve far better food. The service and staff were good, the atmosphere was great.
I was very excited to see that there is a location in Markham. Ive always been a fan of the downtown location. It was always my go-to for Thai food. The ambiance is quite nice but a bit noisy. We decided to skip the apps this time and went ordered the usual pad Thai and rice and chicken curry. The food came out quite fast, and I was excited until I found a long hair in my noodle before I got a first taste. The staff was very quick to apologize and take the dish and my plate and utensils away. However, I didnt expect to wait over 15 minutes for a replacement pad Thai dish to come out, while we see many pad Thai dishes that came out around us. You would think ours would be sort of a priority at this point since our curry dish came out at the same time and was getting cold. I was not given replacement utensils and a new plate until I had to ask for it. Food tasted pretty good, but I like downtown better. I didnt take any photos because I was also turned off for the fact that while I was waiting, no one seemed to care what happened. When we got the bill, it showed 100% discount for my 1st pad Thai dish due to a customer complaint, but immediately the following line, I was charged for the replacement new dish. So, not even a small courtesy discount or free spring rolls? No gesture at all for an inconvenience cause by their kitchen. They definitely dont focus on customer experience at this location, just a sorry and gave me a polite smile.
Horrible service. I was with my family and we met a few friends outside the place. We sat with our own families on seperate tables. The waitress came to us and insisted that because we all walked in together we would have to pay 20% extra. I said we have sepreate bills and were not even sitting together. She still said we wud have to pay extra which doesnt make any sense so we got up and left. Very rude staff. Never coming back. Lost a regular customer.
Beth our server was extremely hostile. I wouldnt usually want to cause issues for any singled out employee but the owners need yo know how their restaurant guests are being treated. Not sure if we were singled out for any particular reason, or if they are like this with all customers, but shouting when you are with small children is not cool. It was a small matter of aomthing being in our soup... it could have been resolved amicably... but if u choose to be aggressive rather than apologetic... then management definitely needs to know. I hope they look into their staff training for future... as for me, I will just have to drive further for my thai food.
Staff really horrible. Made the dinner a disaster when we were there with guests. I have been to other branches of this place and never been disappointed Beth needs to be informed that guests cannot be insulted. We can never go back to this place again. Despite this being so close to our house. Staff really spoilt it for us with their aggressive behaviour
Horrible staff. Extremely rude.
Pathetic service. Extremely rude attitude by the waitress Beth. She said u can give any review you want. We are not bothered.
this restaurant gives the best service because of their friendly staff and the delicious food we will come back to eat again.keep up the good work!
Always fantastic food and great service
This is the newest SuhkoThai locations. The menu is similar to the downtown locations. The decor and atmosphere of this place is really nice for dine-in. There is even a nice patio with lights strung overhead to give you that Thai night market feel in the warmer months. Ive been to this location on several times on the weekdays for both lunch and dinner. It is usually fairly busy. The staff are friendly and attentive. They could probably use 1 more person on staff to provide help during the rush especially when there are a lot of food delivery orders. The food is seasoned well and has the authentic flavour of anyone craving Thai food. My favourite go to dish is the Khao Soi Salad as it offers the rich savoury Thai curry flavour but on a medium that is light but still filling. The Khao Soi noodle dish would be my 2nd go to if I was really feeling hungry. The curry meat dishes like the Paneng Chicken Curry in my photo are full of flavour. The sauce of the Paneng is served much thicker than most places allowing the flavour to stick to the chicken and veggies. The portion size is a bit small as the dish is served on a shallow plate, possibly because its not as soupy as other curry dishes. Serving size would be good for one unless youre ordering multiple dishes. The pad Thai is good. Its got that tamarin flavour but is on the sweeter side. I typically lean towards pad Thai that is smokey from the wok and a bit more earthy in flavour but that is a personal preference. Overall a great place for anyone craving Thai flavours. It on par with the well known Thai spots in the close vicinity. If you enjoy Khao Soi this is definitely your choice in this area.
Ordered a few dish for a group of 4 the other day for a late lunch. The pad kee mao was NOT good. Taste was ok but the texture of the noodles were soggy, similar to what you get at a cheap food court. Tofu was not fresh and had a gone bad taste (and no it s not the tamarind). Portions were small. I would highly recommend going somewhere else (ie Isaan Der) for the price you pay for.
Not my choice
Very nice food. Good service. Highly recommend for Halaal Thai Food.
The food was good and the flavours were good . The beef was done really good . But the service is really slow . It s takes half an hour to get anything . After waiting for the bill for more than 20 mins . The service needs to change but the atmosphere is good .
Thai food so far so good
OK, so you know how they say you eat with your eyes 1st??? WELL! LOOK AT HOW BEAUTIFUL THESE PHOTOS ARE!!! Guess what? It tastes even better....this is as authentic as it gets. The staff are always smiling, not intrusive, but there just when you need them. Family run. And worth every cent!!! There are multiple locations, so I highly recommend this incredible addition to Markhams restaurant scene!!
When we got there, there werent many tables. probably about 5? they seated us and we waited to get our order taken but that took a bit, which was odd since nobody else was ordering and everyone already had their food. but whats worse is that my friend and I ordered only 2 dishes and it took them nearly 45-50 minutes to bring us the food. it didnt taste extraordinarily good or anything either. it took about 10 minutes for us to flag them down to ask for the bill. overall not a very good experience compared to how excited we were to try this place. we will not be returning.
Im extremely happy to see Sukhothai has opened a location in Scarborough. Visited with my family and was warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. Service was very friendly and prompt.Food was very good with my favourites being the Pad Kee Mao and Khao Soi. Others in our group loved the green curry and the salmon panang curry. We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere and are already planning our next visit.
Ordered take out from here. I got the pad kra pow and pad kee mao medium spicy. The portions were small for the price and the pad kee mao was way too spicy (inedible spicy) ended up throwing it away. Overall would not come back there are better thai spots in the city.
The downtown locations are much better. Waited an hour & a half for the food the first time, gave it another shot & the food was mediocre. Would not recommend.
Took my mom here for dinner on her birthday. We sat outside on their patio. Service was good if a little slow. The food was delicious and what I expected based on their downtown location. My mom had Pad Thai which she really enjoyed and I had a curry dish. It s nice to have a location up in the 905. It s tucked away in a small plaza with a decent amount of parking available. Would definitely go back.
I placed an advanced order online at 9:30 in the morning to be ready for 11:45. When I arrived, I was told the order would take another 15 minutes. Over 30 minutes later the food was finally ready. The order was for a group of workers who regularly only have 40 minutes for lunch. This group usually orders from another Thai restaurant in the area and it has never been a problem. I convinced them to order from Sukkothai as I loved their food downtown. Never again. Mistakes happen, however there was no compensation even when asked. Likely the first and last time we order from here.
too spicy for me
