Nice small place. I like that they sell the mushrooms across the restaurant that you eat. Food was alright, expensive and appetizers were kinda small. The one soup I bought was big but no flavor was just cooked noodles in water taste. Love the concept of this place would go again though pricy.

Food was nice but the service was just awful. The waitress in white clothes was rude and acting weird when we asked her to serve the dessert with the other food. She also forgot who s order is whose and tried to serve the wrong dish to us.

Please give an explanation from the person in charge. I ordered a set meal online today. My family went to pick up the meal and was told that the set meal was not available during the weekend and that it had been cancelled. I communicated with the store clerk and asked why I didnt receive the notification. The store clerk said it was not his problem. I didnt receive any notification or request for a refund, but I was refused to pick up the meal and they didnt answer the phone when I called them. Please ask the person in charge to show up and give an explanation.

We absolutely loved the experience at this restaurant. Its located inside a mall, you are welcomed with green tea, light and refreshing. We ordered lotus rpot dumplings, chantrelle fried rice, mushroom skewers and mapo tofu. The quantity was good for 2 people and we took back some leftovers. They accept mastercard/visa card for payment.

Love this place! I loved having the vegan recreations of classic Chinese dishes. Their dishes are uncompromising of taste and creativity. I ve never had lion s mane mushroom before but it was the best meat substitute I ve ever had. Definitely my go to restaurant in Markham

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant due to a staff members rude response regarding tips. She loudly and aggressively claimed that tips should be calculated after tax, stating that its the law in Canada. However, tipping is not mandatory, and I believe a 10% tip in cash is fair for a restaurant that doesn t accept cards. Its frustrating to feel pressured to tip on the tax amount, especially when thats not a requirement. Despite the uncomfortable interaction, we decided to give an extra 5% tip, but the staff member dismissed it with a rude attitude. This kind of behavior is unacceptable.

Yesterday I bought mushroom and vegetable dumplings, but when I ate them today I found there was sand in them. Most likely the dried mushrooms were not washed properly. I hope the owner can pay more attention when preparing the ingredients. The taste is still delicious as always, I will come again!

We tried some appetizers, rice and dumplings. They are all delicious. It was amazing to see such simple ingredients can turn into yummy gourmet food. The dishes are visually delightful and satisfy our taste buds. Prices are reasonable. We highly recommend vegetarian and even meat lover.

This is a wonderful vegetarian restaurant in Markham!! Authentic, healthy and msg free highly recommend reservations if you re going Saturday for lunch. We got a few dishes to share and the mushroom/bok choy dumplings to start they make the dumplings across from the restaurant and you can buy a few to enjoy later. The assorted veg on crispy rice was plentiful. There were so many types and flavours of mushrooms, all were delicious

I had an absolutely amazing time at this restaurant! It is literally a hidden gem! The food was AMAZING and tasted so fresh! The server helped us with choosing our meals and she definitely had amazing choices! We will definitely be back again to try more dishes! I would highly recommend the wontons and the eggplant dish! The restaurant looks great inside. I myself got takeout and tried the lions mane skewers and fresh rolls. The skewers were great! Definitely love the lions mane. Our go to vegetarian restaurant! The food is absolutely delicious and the staff are very nice. The decor is super cute too! We got: - wild mushroom congee - braised tofu with wild mushroom - braised cordyceps flower and lily with snow pea - chanterelle fried rice - carrot dumplings Everything tasted really good but our most favourite dish was the wild mushroom congee, a must-eat! (We devoured it before we could even take a photo). 10/10 would recommend this place, whether youre a vegetarian or not!

Excellent food and service

First time trying this place. Its located inside the mall. Simple and nice decor. We ordered the following: 1. shiitake mushroom with orange shreds (definitely recommend!) 2. braised tofu with wild mushroom (very good!) 3. Thai fried rice 4. marinated assorted platter It is better to make reservations. Would definitely return.

Vegedelight is now our favorite vegetarian restaurant. Even better its a Szechuan flavor vegetarian restaurant! The family and I have been back multiple times in the last 1 year, and the quality of the food remain consistently excellent with improvement in services as well. As an Lacto-ovo vegetarian who enjoy Szechuan food, when I go to regular Szechuan restaurant, its hard to find tasty compromises from the regular menu for vegetarian. Now with Vegedelight, its a treat to enjoy all the Szechuan flavor as an vegetarian. In addition, you can buy frozen vegetarian dumplings and other vegetarian cooking ingredient from the restaurant to cook and enjoy at home. You can tell a restaurant is doing well when they open a new store in downtown Toronto. Some of our favorite dishes are: Chanterelle Fried Rice, House Special Soup Pot, Spicy Double Sauté, Mapo Tofu and Braised Baby Cabbage in Veggie Broth. The restaurant is located in New Century Plaza, with outside access through a door connected with a ramp for wheel chair access. Parking during busy meal time might mean you will have to park further from the entrance. Vegetarian options: Everything on their menu is vegetarian.

It is a small but cozy restaurant. They have a private room for big group too. We were surprised by the quality and the taste of their dishes, not to mention the presentation! We really enjoyed our dinner and the atmosphere. As if we stepped into a different realm from the little mall.

BBQ Lions mane mushroom skewers and Chongqing Boiled Veggie Fillet in Chili Oil were absolutely delicious! The flavour totally resembled lamb skewers and boiled beef in chili oil. In fact, all the dishes we ordered tasted wonderful and authentic. The staff there was friendly and helpful. Price is reasonable, we ordered 6 items and the total (after tax but before tips) came to just over $100. I would totally come back again.

Small restaurant but food taste is good, We have ordered Golden Curry with Lion Mane Mushroom, this is good and not spicy and I dont like spicy food; Noodles in Wild Mushroom Soup, the soup taste so good and I like the noodles. We tries the Freshly Ground Walnut soup as well, this is a desserts and sweet. I am not vegetarian but I am very impressed. I will come back again because I like the Lion Mane Mushroom and the soup noodles.

Flavour was on point, had the lions mane mushroom skewer, Thai fried rice, mapo tofu, mushroom dish. Deducting one star because for the price, the portions were small. Everything ran out quickly between 3 adults and 1 baby, total bill was $80. Ambience and service was good. Also they don t joke around about the spice meter. It s so spicy some dishes so be prepared.

This place was amazing! As a vegetarian, I always appreciate when restaurants put in more effort than heres a salad or a plate of carrots. It was nice to be able to choose from a full menu at a Chinese restaurant and not worry about potentially unmentioned meats in the dishes. Everything here is vegetarian and tastes fantastic. It tastes authentic, not westernized and the service was good. Yeah, its in a mall so my expectations were not sky high to begin with, but man this place blew them out of the water!

Came here for vegetarian lunch on first day of CNY. It was very busy and we had to wait for 15 mins to a table, servers were attentive but took a while to take order from us because the restaurant was fully seated. Ordered fried rice, fried mushroom, stir fried beef with green pepper, and sweet mushroom with dumpling skin. Not sure why the vegetarian meal is generally more pricey than regular meal with meats, we paid 80++ for 3 dishes and 1 appetizer, portions and taste were fine, worth to try once. However, would try other places next time.

The orange chicken and fried enoki mushroom was the highlight. I also loved the skewers as well! The tofu and sweet and sour pork was okay, I wouldn t order it again.

A nice and cozy vegetarian restaurant. Food are tasty and fresh, with a lot of different kinds of mushrooms. The curry mushroom set lunch came with an appetizer and rice. The curry dish had a good curry taste and was not spicy, the sauce was good with rice. The deep fried mushrooms was a bit oily for my liking, and the taste was flat, it would have been nice if they provided some salt and pepper mix. The restaurant has a store right across from the restaurant where you can buy mushrooms. Overall, a pleasant experience.

Superb menu: Hi-res close-up photos half-page size. Had 5 dishes -all were great. Priced reasonably. Courteous staff. The Tea Tree Mushroom Fragrant Spicy Pot was a lovely mix. My fault as my final bite was all hot peppers and sechuan peppers, so be careful as these are an incredibly hot mix. Will definitely order again!

On the expensive side but they have some good tasting and unique vegetarian dishes. They also have a section where you can purchase frozen vegetarian food. Very tiny place but I really enjoyed the food and will be back again.

This is my second time here and it is such a trip for ones senses. I was definitely happier the first time than this but thats perhaps expectation management more than anything. The century eggs with tofu was fantastic as usual, the dumplings were ok. Also tried the house hot pot soup, mushroom wrap and the mixed veg lotus root pepper dish thingy (sorry but I forget the name). One suggestion is, the dishes with chili or at least the peppers are very strong and pungent. So if you time it with, say, a hot pot, the latter falls flat.. so choose and pair carefully! Im eager to try other dishes especially those with rice the next time! And theres sure to be another visit!

First time here and I was blown away by how good this place was. You have to try the lions Mane skewers ! Sooooo gooooood!!! This is my top place of Asian vegan/vegetarian place right now. Good job Vegedelight.. Im definitely bringing my friends and family back.

The food is incredibly delicious and the setting very relaxing. I love the lions mane skewers and the mushroom soup noodles. I recommend not using the lettuce for decoration purposes as it results in unnecessary food waste. I look forward to coming back!

Loved this place so much! My partner and I are vegan for a while and this menu makes it very easy to tell which dishes are not vegan because of the egg symbol. The dishes we ordered were all 10/10, and I don t have a single complaint about any of them. My absolute favourites were the lion mane mushroom skewers, the crispy rice with veggies, and the black sticky rice snow mountain. The price point is a bit higher than some other vegetarian/vegan places we ve been to, but I think the value is still good. We will 100% be coming back here, even when we are not vegan. In fact, we ll probably come back next week!

I felt different from last time when I went to eat today. The lady who served me this time was polite and professional, and the takeout package I packed this time was not left out at all when I got home. Overall, the service was friendly and courteous, so I could say LIKE. I wish you good health.

Lovely vegetarian restaurant. The atmosphere and service is great but the food was a bit underwhelming, which is such a pity because everything in the menu seemed so good. I would recommend the stir fried tofu with black bean but the other dishes did not stand out.

We loved the place! Although its small and inside there are only about 7 tables, they made sure to decorate it brightly and the presentation of each dish was beautiful. Service was friendly, kitchen staff was fast and flavours were incredible. We really missed some dishes we used to get back in China, and here they went beyond our expectations. My partner really missed the spicy mock fish we often had in Shanghai and I had not eaten from Shandong since I went vegan (years!). Vegedelight made amazing versions of these dishes, without the need for MSG! The lions mane skewers were to die for. I did not take a picture of everything because we started devouring it all. Honestly we will come back every time we visit Toronto. Thank you so much! Vegetarian options: Chinese vegetarian that uses onion and garlic (the menu also states so, on the first page). No dairy, and I cant recall any dish with eggs on the menu but there might be some.

I ve been to other Chinese vegetarian places before, and while the veggies themselves are good, I find the (fake) mock meat to be really fake as in there s no way anyone who has had real meat would mistaken this for the real thing that is until I tried Vege Delight. I am thoroughly impressed with how real their mock meat is from the texture to the taste, it just feels and tastes like actual meat. Portions are generous and the food that comes to our table looks very much like their respective menu photos which is also an impressive feat. Price-wise I think it s okay. While you may think but it s all just veggies , yes that s true, but this is also a specialty restaurant and for what they do, I think they do incredibly well. I would love to try some of the items from their spicy menu at some point.

This is a true hidden gem for vegetarians! I brought my vegetarian friend here for dinner, and it was so good! Our minds were blown with the quality of food, the friendly service, and calm atmosphere. One highlight other than the food for me was their tea - it was made of date, geimaicha, rose and sth else, so calming and tasty! Highly recommend for all vegetarian ppl, or even if you wanna try sth different.

Best vegetarian restaurant in town!

Upon the many times I went to visit (didnt go inside to eat there) to just see how the environment was, the hours were very misleading and it was either closed or not opened that day despite the hours being there on the door. Second time we went to visit was to clarify a few things before actually reserving a table for my birthday dinner back on June 4th of this year. I felt like the waiter that was on shift that day was a little bit too rude to my mom and myself because they clearly had no patience upon talking to us and was highly temperamental. It sounded like she didnt want to service us even though we werent dine-in customers. Like, we just wanted to visit and come in to clarify some questions we had and you couldnt even spare time for us to just do that just because we arent servicing your restaurant. However, I still went here on my birthday this year my family almost ordered everything on the menu that day! The food was that good though it was very overwhelming with the choices and confusing descriptions of what it actually is. The waiter was also accommodating to allow us to put my dessert bought from somewhere else in their fridge to eat later at the restaurant before we left. I agree with the other reviews here saying that the service in this restaurant however, needs a lot of work and time to improve. I hope this restaurant takes these advice and opinions seriously because I see a lot of potential for this vegetarian restaurant to flourish in business. Its visually appealing and it tastes good for those who have dietary restrictions or accommodations such as myself.

We know this restaurant for some time and save for in laws visiting. My in law is a vegetarian. This restaurant can provide dishes without garlic, chives, shallot, onion and scallions. Overall the dishes are still very tasty without them. The pineapple fried rice and the orange peel deep fried shiitake mushroom are the best. This meal totally changed my view towards vegetarian. My only comment is the background music. It is looped too long with the same rhythm and made me sleepy.

Foods are good but pricy for the overall bad service, especially with countless of mistakes three times in a row when I visit!! I will never come back again. After the first try I came back next day to support the restaurant but the waitress tried to persuade me to sit outside while there is a 4 people table inside (I was a 2 people party), then I saw the next customers of 2 she immediately instructed them to take the 4 people table inside and I was left outside patio with noone serving so I left with my dad. The third time I ordered through phone and they gave me the wrong order!! When I picked up the order I told him I am here to pick up (order #), the owner or cashier looked surprised for one sec and ended up gave me the wrong food, I just realized they made a mistake when I back home opening my order. I took it as my fault as miscommunication as I dont speak Mandarin well. The forth time is today, based on the last experience, I ordered a to-go in person. The cashier said it would take 10-15mins. I came back twice after 10 mins seeing no food coming out for me yet, the cashier didnt assist me at all. Until the second time, I was waiting 5 minutes in front of him, he ignored me. Then the boss came to me and asked me what I need, I told him I waited 25mins for my lunch. Then thats when they start cooking!! Not coming again especially bad servive 3 times in a row, gave you enough chances. Good bye.

Came for a vegetarian dinner to reduce my recent meat-only diet guilt. The dumplings are excellent, the Sichuan cold noodles are also worth ordering. The mushu-mushroom wrap is a definite order item, I dont think Ive had a better vegetarian version anywhere else. If youre looking for a light dinner thats healthy and easy on your GI system, this is it.

I ordered through Uber Eats on Saturday night half hour before closing and maybe that was my error. My order was the Pad Thai Bento Box with a Thai Iced Tea. The Tom Yum Soup was 90% oil and the container was filled only a quarter to the top. It was not appetizing at all I give it a 2/10 The Thai Iced Tea was separated so I stirred it and the sip I had tasted sour. After a few minutes I looked at it and it was curdled! 0/10 As soon as I opened the Pad Thai Bento Container I got a spoiled meat/heavy fresh egg scent. I tried a piece of the tofu side dish and a piece of the faux meat from the Pad Thai and I couldnt eat it. The Pad Thai was stuck together in a mound and was not tasty at all. The smell was too strong and upset my stomach. The side order of Bok Choy was fresh and unfortunately the only edible portion of the meal. 1/10 I have had each of these dishes many times at other establishments as a vegetarian and as a vegan and have never experienced the horrible quality of food like today. I wanted to love it and read other reviews which seemed promising. I must believe that on a rush to make my order before closing that they packaged spoiled (old) food/drink and didnt make anything fresh to order. I urge you to not eat here or at least to not order late and not Thai options.

If youre not veg primarily but still want to have some food with decent flavors, come here. Service: Decent service, seems like a mom/pop shop type of situation. Food: BBQ Lions Mane Mushroom Skewers - comes in an order of 4. Good seasoning and chew/bite to the mushroom skewer. (4/5) Chilled Tofu with Century Egg - Cant wrong with this dish. Chinese classic staple food right here. (4/5) Fennel Dumplings: Pretty good.. Theyre boiled dumplings. Good umami flavor in this one. (4/5) Assorted Veggie hot pot - Decent - good flavor and enough saltiness to mask the taste of veggies (gross veggies) (4/5) Chanterelle Fried Rice - Good portion for sharing, good flavor. Also v umami. (4/5) Overall good food/decent service, we sat outside though in the mall hallway cause it was so busy. But nonetheless. We come back. Came here recently for a late lunch and really enjoyed the food. We enjoyed the King Oyster Mushroom Pancake that had flavors resembling Peking Duck wraps. The BBQ Lions Mane Mushroom Skewers were also good. The texture of the mushrooms really resembled meat and they had good flavor to them, couldnt even really tell they were mushrooms. Really liked the Chanterelle Fried Rice. It was very frangrant and you could taste the wok hei. Marinated assorted platter, taro spring roll and the dumplings were okay. Nothing remarkable but also not bad. Pricing is on the steeper side but the quality is there. Portions are average sized. Service was friendly. Ample parking available at the mall. Would return to try other dishes. One of the better vegetarian places to go to now that Gourmet Vegetarian Restaurant is closed.

I am writing to express my disappointment with the service during my recent visit. Despite the restaurant being relatively empty with only two tables occupied, I experienced an unacceptable wait time of 40 minutes for my meal. Moreover, the lack of communication from the staff during this period was disheartening. I would appreciate a focus on customer care to ensure that future visits are more pleasant.

The quality of the food is good, but I found the portions to be quite small, and the prices are rather high. I hope they can make some adjustments to make their vegetarian offerings more affordable and appealing to a broader range of customers.

A lot of dishes are house special and never seen in other vegetarian restaurant, Shitake Mushroom with Orange Shreds, Assorted Vegetables on Crispy Rice, King Oyster Mushroom Pancake, Chanterelle Fried Rice, BBQ Lionss Mane Mushroom, wild mushroom congee, Mushroom soup are recommended.

Wow, so delicious, and unique vegetarian food. They really know how to season and cook up a mushroom, of all varieties. I had the fried shiitake (seems to be the signature dish) and an order of the lions mane bbq skewers. Everything was so good. The genmaicha was perfect.

The food is delicious and not just boring vegetables, they really make an effort to make very interesting and unique vegetarian dishes. I m a meat lover but I enjoyed every dish tried. The staff is extremely nice and helpful as well. Keep up the good work!

Came here for dinner and the food was really delicious, really liked the vegetarian Peking Duck style mushroom wrap (helps quenches my cravings for Peking Duck after becoming vegetarian), the Pad Thai was fragrant and tasty, and the soup broth of the mushroom hotpot is really flavorful, would definitely come back again!

Came here with my family the vegetable dish and fried rice we ordered were flavorful and delicious. But the fried mushrooms we ordered were too dry. Server was attentive and polite. We would come back again to try other dishes.

I went with a little kid so I couldnt order much but the experience was quite good. The waitress was very friendly. We tried the hot pot and the deep fried mushroom. We liked both! And if you dont eat garlic and onion just like me, you can just tell them ahead. They can prepare accordingly.

The vegetarian dishes created at this place, are simply superb! I appreciate that the menu is heavily mushroom based. Mushrooms of all kinds. The mushroom congee and the deep fried enoki are my top two favourites. Close seconds for me are the chanterelle fried rice, lion s mane skewers and the shiitake mushrooms with orange shreds. Please note, everything is made fresh to order. Be patient, the food is worth the wait and so satisfying!

Busy place but tasteful food.

One of the most pleasant experience with some amazing vegetarian food. This place is not like your typical Chinese vegetarian restaurants. The dishes are wellade and thought-out. Definitely a must try.

Good quality, good service attitude, but the price is a bit expensive

Really good! Their vegetarian is traditional Chinese style -- with mushrooms, tofu, eggs, etc. They *nailed* the spices! We tried the BBQ Lions mane Mushroom Skewers and theres some witchcraft going on there... those mushrooms and spices resemble the real thing so accurately!

This was one of the most comforting, and nourishing meals Ive had outside of cooking at home. My mother is in the hospital and good quick food en route is hard to come by. I wanted vegetables and they were generous with the bok Choy, the broth was delicious and perfectly savoury (not oversalted) deep, flavour of the roasted(?) Mushrooms and the satisfying texture of noodles to give me energy for the day ahead. Sustenance, kindness, clean hearty food. Thank you, for the calm peace and nourishment .

I walked in at the end of the day thinking they were open. They were closing up but treated me with so much patience. I ordered the mapo tofu combo. The food was so hearty, it made me smile. What was amazing is that, it felt like homemade food (and I am from India!) - made with care and thought. A combination of flavours that worked so well together. Will definitely be back for trying out more dishes.

We are a vegetarian family and this has got to be the best veggie restaurant we ve tried. The dishes are authentic, incredibly flavorful, and leaving us wanting to go back over and over. Many vegetarian restaurants use primarily fake meat or processed veggie products. This place hardly uses any. The ingredients are wholesome and healthful. The chef is a very nice lady who seems to really care about using the best ingredients, cooked with the best methods. The eggplant dish and basil fried rice are two of our favorites. This is definitely now a staple restaurant for us!

The best chinese vegetarian place Ive had in Toronto. Assorted Vegetables on Crispy Rice, Fried Enoki, Tea Tree Mushroom Spicy Pot and Black Sticky Rice Snow Mountain were the stand-out dishes for me, not to say that everything else werent good, I thoroughly enjoyed everything and portions were huge. Staff were very welcoming too and asked for our feedback to help them improve, which goes to show how much they care about their customers! This dining experience really sent me back to China and had me reminiscing my childhood. Big thumbs up for you all! I will be back soon ~

The food was the best Ive ever had in my life! We ordered the tofu and bell peppers in a chili bean sauce and the tea tree Mushroom. I wouldnt give it 5 stars due to the lack of ambience. Its a small crammed space inside of a dumpy mall. There is no designated spot to wait for seating except a cash register in front of the kitchen and they had parked a cart with dirty dishes in front of the cash register. I think this suits take-out better than dining in.

Eating here was a delightful experience! The little restaurant is nestled in a mall, but that doesnt detract from the beautiful ambiance, furniture and music. There was lots of selection and the menu is so accessible to all, they specify if there are peanuts or eggs in the dishes, making it really easy for me, a lacto-vegetarian to eat! We had the house soup, mapo tofu and sichuan noodles - they were all delicious, but the numbing flavour on the mapo tofu made it a little hard to eat. Even still, we had an amazing lunch there and are looking forward to come back and try other dishes. Vegetarian options: The entire place is vegetarian food, with simple signs to show if something has egg in it. Parking: Its in a mall complex, so the mall parking is readily available close by.

My favorite vegan/vegetarian restaurant in Markham! Great service, nice atmosphere and they only use some mock meats. Most of their menu items are made from mushrooms and veggies. I love it when a restaurant can create great flavors and dishes with only veggies. Showing that they have a good understanding of their ingredients and flavor profiles.

Wonderful hidden gem with authentic Chinese vegetarian food

Tastes great. Id suggest dining in rather than ordering on things like Uber of Doordash. Its still good if you want to order takeout but eating it fresh is just so much better. Although if you have an air fryer at home its probably fine. Great place for flexitarians and just people who want something different. Most of the items are quite similar to meat dishes so youre not wondering into completely unfamiliar territory.

Went in via the Thai restaurant, as instructed on the door, and their staff told me it closed and moved to Scarborough.
