3150 Hwy 7 UNIT #1, Markham, ON L6G 0A4, Canada
Our restaurant is family owned and operated. Our chefs have over 60 years experience combined who are specialized in authentic Vietnamese cuisine
Pleasantly surprised with how good the pho was. The broth is better than most pho places I’ve been to. The meat is top quality
Previously, my opinion of the restaurant was 4/5 stars but I think the quality of the food and portion of the pho has gone down. I ordered an XL but the amount of noodles were disappointing. The broth was decent but overall nothing extraordinary.
I found the best pho in GTA. The soup is very rich with a lot of meat. All kinds of sauce are right on the table, no need to ask anything. They immediately offer hot tea and ice water, which is very convenient. Excellent service.
One of my favorite Vietnamese dining experiences was at “The Pho” restaurant known for its authentic south Asian cuisine. Located in heart of Markham on Hwy 7 & Woodbine. (Across from Longos & Home Depot, north side) ‘The Pho’ has a warm and inviting atmosphere, with traditional Vietnamese decor, soft lighting, and a casual yet elegant setting. The aroma of fresh herbs and spices fills the air. The staff at The Pho are friendly and attentive, providing excellent recommendations and ensuring a pleasant dining experience. This dining establishment offers an authentic and delightful Vietnamese dining experience, with a menu that showcases the diverse and vibrant flavors of Vietnam. It’s a must-visit for anyone who loves Vietnamese cuisine or wants to explore it.
First time at this new location. There air conditioning is not strong, hence the reason why they probably turned on 3 fans. Their meat is so tender and their broth is excellent. Light and flavourful. You can feel the collagen on your lips. We ordered the following: 1. Assorted Pho (small and large bowl) I really like their tea. Not sure what they put in it. Will definitely return.
Best authentic vietnamese restaurant in the Woodbine /Hwy7 area. The pho broth is excellent, hot and tasty soup with good portion of meat/noodles. Fresh spring rolls are fresh and delicious. A great lunch here!
The Special Pho Noodles in extra large size ($16 plus $5) was tasty, with a very generous portion that would easily satisfy 3 adults with regular appetites. The meat amount was also quite generous, adding to the overall satisfaction. I highly recommend the deep fried wings with butter sauce; they were both delicious and aromatic, with a portion perfect for sharing. The atmosphere was comfy and casual, although the background music was a bit too loud for my liking. One thing to note is that the restaurant charges 50 cents per takeout box, so it may be a good idea to bring your own containers.
Came here during weekdays lunch and dinner within a week. They are very busy during my visits. Parking lot is small but I manage to find a parking spot without any problems. They have a self serve system to line up when the restaurant is full. You register with your phone number and when a table is ready for you, they will text you. Food quality is above average in my opinion. I ordered their raw beef salad (first time trying a raw beef salad) and it was great. Price is fair and portion is above average. Services is great but they are too busy to give you 100% attention. It worth a try!
Pho and vermicelli tasted great. You submit your order directly from their QR code based menu. It s a very efficient system. Of note the service was excellent and the food came out relatively quickly, I highly recommend if youre craving authentic tasting Vietnamese food while in Markham. Dietary restrictions: Pho is safe for people with peanut allergies; I would mention to waiter/waitress; they appear aware of which plates contain allergens
I used to get extra large here and be very satisfied with the portion - B1 extra large was my favourite. In recent times (past half a year), I noticed Im no where near being full when I order extra large so I think they significantly reduced the amount of noodles they put in for XL. The bowl of pho also looks visibly empty (pho to broth ratio) compared to what I remember. For $30 for an extra large, while their pho is great, its not what it used to be in terms of the value and experience dining in. I hope the owners decide to make the XL what it used to be.
A calm, cozy and quiet place with great good. We loved their pho and the broth was super delicious! I tried the pork and seafood special pho with egg noodles.Egg noodles were just made to perfection!
Great pho place. All broths are good
Best pho I ve had! The beef satay pho was amazing and had such great flavour.
The portion for the regular is extremely small/same price as other places for way less. (But also the XL portion is huge). The meat cuts were also not very refined + overcooked. I would say the beef broth is okay but slightly more sour than other places I ve been to. I got B9 Overall not bad but I probably won t go again considering all the other pho places nearby.
Picked up takeout from The Pho Restaurant tonight, ordering their vermicelli noodles with grilled lemongrass pork, beef, and chicken. The dish was a bit of a mixed bag the beef, while lean, felt tough and lacked flavor. On the flip side, the pork and chicken were fatty and flavorful, which helped balance things out overall. The takeout process was straightforward. I ordered online through their website and picked it up at the specified time, with payment handled in-store quick and easy. One thing that caught my attention was that unlike other Vietnamese spots I ve visited, this restaurant didn t offer an option to select a single protein with the vermicelli noodles; the dish automatically included all three. While I m undecided on a full recommendation just yet, I m intrigued enough to return and explore other dishes on their menu.
Their beef pho is a must! My fiance and I always get the xlarge pho with all toppings to share and that is more than enough for us.
A bit pricey but food is great
Best beef pho Ive ever had!! Great portions. Quick and friendly staff!!:)) thanks
We got here at 9 pm and the place closes at 10. They were happy to seat us, but they were out of fresh rice noodles. But we ordered the Vietnamese rice noodle instead, which tasted good too. We ordered the 1) spring roll with shrimp and pork, 2) the bun/vermicelli bowl, 3) Vietnamese style beef stew. Food came quickly, and everything tasted great. We even had leftover to take back to our hotel for a midnight snack. Will definitely go again, if Im in the area.
There are a lot of people, especially the Pro is delicious, the tomato powder is delicious, and the lemon is okay. But the curry powder is not tasty. The beef seaweed rolls were also not tasty.
I m a certified Vietnamese fat ass that love food. I always order the pho with only brisket and fresh noodles. I base my pho restaurant on 3 things. 1. The broth have to be Melo yellowish clear and not strong on seasoning smell. It s a pure slow cook sweet broth. Use the dipping sauce to tune up the broth if u need to adjust your broth. I only use black pepper in my pho broth cause this place got it right. Other places will use pho seasoning and msg to cut corners to make a quick pho broth. 2. I only eat fresh noodles cause the regular noodles will kill the perfect broth. 3. The brisket is fatty at times which I love. The brisket is melting in your mouth. I judge my pho restaurant by their brisket because if it s dry and chewy it mean quality of the meat is garbage and not fresh meaning you re whole pho bowl is garbage. The kitchen staff has 30 plus years experience making the perfect bowl of pho.
Awesome place to eat
Only pho that the soup base is worth drinking.
Delicious food
if you dine in avoid tipping anything to this greedy place after tipping more than $10 they had the audacity to ask me for $0.50 per take out container.... are you kidding me yea no problem return my tip and take your $0.50, my friend this is not Vietnam if I pay $50 to eat soup and tip you $10 give me my godamn take out container you morons.
The quality of food has declined, the prices have significantly increased and they charge an additional fee for take out containers.
Always good quality food and service here. Their ingredients are always fresh and made to the right taste. My mom loves their pandan tea here too! Food
Found a strand of hair while eating pho soup. I had a cap on so it was not mine. I called the server and showed him. Owner shouted to the server talking their language. And the server said they could give 10% off the food. I was like what? We paid and walked away since I didnt want to argue in front of my child. I was not sure it was the food or since I was disgusted by a hair and owner s attitude towards customers, I had to keep going washroom until next day. Poor customer service and expensive pho for ordinary pho.
This restaurant is better than all the other restaurants Their noodles are the best cooked and their rice is the tastiest of all dishes made there
Fantastic, fresh, and very tasty food. Would definitely be visiting again
food is normal but portion is less than regular pho restaurant and not so much noodle inside . Also container needs to charge with this price. Not worth it.
very busy but fantastic food and good service.eat and go kind of place. Updating: Changed from a 5 to 0 for service. This was my go to place with my family.now very dissatisfied and disappointed.Had relatives come from Vancouver. My Uncle and Aunt are seniors and wanted to share. They refused to give an extra bowl so they could split. We ended up using the tiny bowl sause dish..our family asked why they couldnt get a bowl...is this Toronto restaurant rules????We were so embarrassed. We wont be coming now.Our experience is now tarnished!
we were embarrassed and upset with our recent dinner here. we come regularly but will not come again. we brought out of town guests. ordered many appetizers before the main pho. there were six of us ordering pho and my guests ordered a large special pho to share. when asked for extra bowls, they were given small empty rice bowls. these were already available on the table and are sized for dipping sauces. they asked for larger (medium sized) bowls and were refused. they offered to pay for larger bowls and were refused. when asked for an explanation, they were told it is management policy. this was on a Sunday night and the restaurant was not busy. i will no longer return and will stop recommending this restaurant
Went here with my kids. Ordered 3 regular bowls of Pho plus a large bowl of Pho for my two younger kids to share plus several appetizers. I asked the waitress for 2 medium size bowls so they could share the large bowl of Pho. She said she could not do that as the manager would not allow her to. I had heard about this issue in previous reviews...but did not believe this was the case. Well its true. They will not provide extra bowls so you can share...even if your order enough food to fill the table. This is terrible customer service...will not come back nor will I recommend this place...no fault of the server...something definitely wrong with management.
Very good! My coworker has the bun, which you can customize, and it looks very good. Meat looks tasty and he really enjoyed it. I had the bun Bo hue, and it was amazing. Taste was great and lots of meat and ingredients too! Very satisfied! Will definitely come again!
I had shrimp and mango salad, it tasted good but there were too few shrimps
We tried the special pho here and its worse than I expected. The meat were cut in big chunks, the broth is basically too much fish sauce + MSG, no flavor of beef broth. The portion is smaller than I expected for a regular size thats $16, Ican easily find larger portion with better flavor at a lower price.
One of the best pho soup .. Just one thing the employer was cutting her nails outside where us customer eat. Nothing wrong with that just do it in the backkk
Food here is delicious and definitely worth the wait. Recommend checking yelp and joining their waitlist before going during busy times to reduce the wait once you get there. Havent had a dish here I didnt enjoy yet.
Scan QR code and order ! Fast service . Friendly . Broth is little bit on salty side. Their fresh rolls are good Food
Good Vietnamese-style restaurant with good-sized portions. Noodle bowls are served with lots of meat. Tables have lots of condiments/sauces available. This restaurant gets busy, being located across from First Markham Place, so expect to wait. They offer 5% cash discount.
To start off the food is not bad, it was ok. However, the pho soup was very salty and probably full of msg. There was decent amount of meat in the pho but I was super thirsty after dinner and I was up all night. The butter fried wings were probably the best item on the menu. We can on Saturday and it was very busy.
I was in the area and craving pho, we found this restaurant across from FMP. The pho was really tasty and they gave us big portions! The fresh spring rolls were really yummy too! I will definitely come back again when Im in Markham. FYI, theres no menu, you have to order by QR code, and if you pay cash its 10% off.
One of the best Pho places to visit in Markham
Excellent pho with fresh noodles. Best pho in markham in my opinion. Pad thai not so good. Come here for the pho with a nice clean broth. Recommend the brisket Kid-friendliness: Easy to share food with kids
Food was absolutely incredible. Ive never had chicken seasoned so well, and the pho was amazing
Place was incredible! Their chickenwing appetizer was super flavorful. The pho & broth was great, it was a light taste that I finished quickly. There coffee gave great energy when driving back to Fort erie. The avocado smoothie I liked, it was fresh.
This place has the best pho, coconut coffee, and wings. The owner is really kind too. 10/10
Amazing pho and great service!
Now one of my three favourite Vietnamese restaurants in the GTA. The beef stew pho had a lot of beef and carrots in it, so it was good value!
Excellent service and delicious food. Keep it up .
Best pho in Markham, great taste.
pricey expensive 20$ after tax for pho, but portion size is big
Haven t came to this pho place in a few years, finally came back again. The food was decent, pretty flavourful, the portions were okay for the price. This place is definitely a bit pricey, we came here during dinner time during the weekend so it got pretty busy. However, we felt pretty rushed to finish and leave as soon as possible, the worker kept asking to take our dishes away right when we stopped eating. At the end we were asked to leave bc there was others waiting. Don t think we will be coming back as nothing special stood out to us especially for the price and portion, there is definitely better.
Pho is good, doesnt carry huy foods sirracha
During my visit to this restaurant today, I ordered the same thing as I did last week, but instead of beef they added too much fat, and I complained to them, who said that I could return next time, so I paid. I no longer like going to this restaurant and I do not recommend it to anyone. Parking: During my visit to this restaurant today, I ordered the same thing as I did last week, but instead of beef they added too much fat, and I complained to them, who said that I could return next time, so I paid. Food is good but prices have increased far too much since they initially opened - past the rate of inflation and then some.
This place is decent but too small to not have any air conditioning while it s warm out, even the poor employees are fanning themselves because it s so hot. The worst part is it s not even summer yet. The fans they have don t do anything other than blow around dust you can t see.
Ive been a loyal customer at this pho restaurant since before the pandemic, and Ive always enjoyed many items on their menu. However, I must express my disappointment regarding the significant increase in prices over the past few years. Back in 2019, I paid around $13.95 for a bowl of pho satay, but now its closer to $19 for the same bowl of regular pho. While I understand the necessity for small businesses to adjust prices due to inflation and rising costs, a 35% increase over four years feels excessive. As much as I want to continue supporting this establishment, the prices have now become unreasonably high. Despite my reluctance, there are definitely other pho restaurants across the GTA that offer more affordable options.
First time visiting since they moved from the old location. The restaurant is much more spacious and well-ventilated compared to the previous venue. Their pho is aromatic and flavorful, and the drinks were an absolute delight. Price-wise, they are comparable to other Vietnamese restaurants in Markham and Scarborough. Their Vermicelli Bowl/Bún is huge enough to share between two children. Even though I havent been back in the past couple of years, their Bún Bò Huê is still both mouthwatering and satisfying. I am glad they moved to a bigger restaurant; no more lining up at that cramped doorway like in the past.
Excellent Vietnamese food in town
Located in the Shawarma Stop plaza across from FMP on the Burger King side. Theres not that much parking but usually the lot isnt too packed. My friends and I stopped by on a saturday evening after a session of badminton. We JUST managed to dodge the dinner rush as we arrived at around 6:30 and got a table for 6 with no reservation. The minute we all got seated there was a line packed out the door and the yelp waitlist updated in real time to reflect a 20-40 min wait *phew*. The original pho was pretty good according to my friends. I did try some of their broth. It was nice! My personal fave place for pho is still Pho Anh Vu on Hwy 7. That place is untouchable right now imo because of their great taste and HUGE portion sizes. I ordered the pho tai sa te (satay broth) while the friend next to me ordered pho tai ca ri (curry broth). They both tasted good but the ca ri broth tasted great! It was more complex and layered than the satay broth. Next time Im back, my go-to will definitely be the curry broth. None of us tried the vermicelli bowls so I cant comment on that. At the end of the meal, the server notified us that they couldnt split the bill but they gave us a 5% cash discount which was appreciated (usually if you pay in cash you get 10% off but its fine). Service itself was pretty good. The servers were all friendly and prompt. I do wish they kept the tiny sauce dishes at the tables for easy access though (you have to ask the server for a specified number). One thing thats special about this place is they also let you build your own bowl of noodles (same concept as Deer Garden) which is cool for a viet place. This is a solid spot for Viet eats! I think they are definitely on the pricier side for the portions they give (the L and XL sizes should be bigger in my honest opinion) so Pho Anh Vu will still be my go-to viet spot in the Richmond Hill/Markham area.
I love that you can build your own pho here!!! Chicken wings are the best. And their hot tea also taste good. But I really hate that your hair and cloth will smell like pho after you eat here.
Food was tasty but on the expensive side for the portions.
I have been to almost all the Pho places in the GTA, the pho here is pretty good and I like it how you can create your own from the menu. This is one of the most expensive pho place out there so I wasnt happy at all when they ask $0.50 for each plastic containers to pack my food. It was a bit of an insult. That was enough reason to not come here again in the future.
Service was mixed, owner came check around and tried to do best. Servers kept removing our bowls and chopsticks but we had lots of appy that came after our noodles (?) yet to be finished... perhaps can provide us some side plates then? - Appy platter was good, the beef wrapped with herb was great - Grilled pork with shrimp crackers was good Quite a lot of msg in both - Pho is one size (small) but lots of toppings = pricy $18
We ordered regular size and the portion of beef pho is generous, the taste is good too. However, there is room for improvement in the service attitude.
Good food. I like their snack plater that you can try all different snacks. Great space and easy to find. Price is a bit expensive for the quantity.
Please update your holiday business hours. Save your gas they are closed on the holidays
I have been here many times. Its raw beef noodle soup is hot and flavorful. It is not a typical restaurant that uses MSG. It is not dry after eating. The beef is moderately fat and lean, and is soft and smooth. The portion is sufficient and the price-performance ratio is great.
I never had a bowl of pho with such a generous, and I mean it, generous portion of meat! I think it had more meat than noodles. As for the broth it was a bit on the sweeter side for me but overall, it was good!
Authentic Vietnamese food with customizable options on the menu.
Excellent food good service!
Standard. Nothing stands out but kinda pricey
Great local spot in Markham! A little pricier than your typical Vietnamese restaurant however the quality is so worth it. Got the PAD THAI & COM (rice) Plate with Lemongrass Chicken & Pork. Didn t love the Pad Thai but the rice and meat were delicious. COCONUT SMOOTHIE & SPRING ROLLS are also always part of our order!
Very tasty, friendly staff
Asked for spring rolls and rare beef pho, got no spring rolls and had finished pho before realized they never took that order. Broth is below par. Staff does not understand English to well.
Definitely not my taste, but they were fast on giving the service
Really good pho Always get the coconut smoothie with black coffee
First time here and I m impressed by their food and service. Price is on expensive side compare to other pho but portion is big. Surprisingly pad Thai is very good here.
Good food
Everything was so good that we ordered!!!
Tried the curry pho, satay pho, spring rolls and beef on rice. Everything was very good and flavourful. A bit on the pricey side vs most similar restaurants but they have higher quality ingredients like short rib/kalbi cut beef for the rice and fresh noodle options for the pho. Will definitely come back.
It was alright, doesn t justice the higher price. I liked the broth, not mindblowing, but still a solid Pho place. Fresh Noodles were more rice noodles so wider, but maybe Vietnamese Rice Noodles is the solution for thinner. Meat was good. What lost this place stars was the lack of training for wait staff, as TWICE they put the food in front of the BABY without saying a warning first. Coming behind baby with large hot soup and a sharp knife is unacceptable. Utterly dangerous lawsuit waiting to happen. Other places are more children friendly and mindful, as they would bring high chair and separate bowl and utensils without having to ask. Don t think we d be back.
I ordered beef brisket noodle with tomato sauce. Took very long time to come to the table. The bowl looks amazing. It was simmering hot and smelled wonderful. The only complaint is too chewy for the brisket. Looks like the kitchen only cooked it for 20 minutes. The portion was good but consider that it costs $17.50. With tips and tax its more than 20 bucks just for a Vietnamese noodle. Give and take. Because of the brisket, I only rated 3 stars.
The food was just not worth the price. Nothing taste good.
We went here for dinner and for the price that Im paying I expect the food to be of great quality. We ordered spring rolls, build your own Pho, BBH and Bo Kho. Spring rolls were great. Soup bases for all soups tasted like there was quite a bit of MSG in it. Im super thirsty as Im writing this. My husband rates their BBH 6/10. I rate all the noodles that we ordered 6/10 also. Before we got our food, I told one of the servers that I didnt want bean sprouts in any of our noodles. He said there are no bean sprouts in any of their phos. I assume this is where the disconnect happened. When I ate my Bo Kho, I found bean sprouts inside. He made no effort to check. I spoke to another server and the manager gave us a 10% discount on the bill. This may help a bit but still discontent with my meal and service. In the build your own Pho, I got rare beef, beef balls and brisket. I got a bit of something Im not sure exactly what to call it. But Im assuming its supposed to be the brisket part. Photos attached. Im a bit picky with my pho places and dont like to leave bad reviews. But I will not be returning to this restaurant. I didnt feel they were very authentic as most of our noodles were subpar at best. If youre in the area of this restaurant and want to eat pho, go to Pho Time.
Ordered the pho dac biet extra large for $19, rice with pork chop and beef ribs for $17 and 2 the colours drink, $10 each. The pho was average and have a strong star anise flavour. The rice dish was below average and not worth the price of $17. The drinks were way over priced. The only thing going for this place is that you can visually customize your dishes. But any restaurant would allow you to customize like no onions or cilantro, etc. But you just have to tell the wait staff. There are way better and cheaper Vietnamese restaurants. Would not be coming back
Food is good. Pricer than your typical Pho Restaurant. During a recent visit, found a couple of the staff rude and unfriendly - contemplated leaving and looking for another place to eat. I don t know if I would go back due to the staff. Don t go if you do not have a smart phone (they do not have menus) - the menu and ordering is all done online.
The Pho here was amazing. Very authentic tasting, very clean place, good service, highly highly recommended
Taste good, but too salty
Overprice with terrible service. I ordered Bun Bo Hue, my children ordered chicken Pho. Normally the bean spouts and shredded cabbage should comes with the noodles. I had to ask the server, she wasnt happy about it. The quality of the food isnt the best nor the worst. There are far better Pho with similar price. It was a windy day, so I asked for hot water rather being serve with cold jug of water. Again the server wasnt happy. When asked for the bill, I was asked how I would like to pay. I replied pay cash. The server handed me the card machine with the screen with tipping percentage and amount display. Starting tipping at this restaurant is at 18% - 21%. I told the server that I am paying cash he didnt say anything and walked away. The bill came to be approx $43. I handed a $50 bill, we sat there for 5 to 10 min waiting for our change. I asked the server where is my change. The server replied theres no change, thats the tipping. I laughed and walked away and decided NEVER to go back. TIPPING IS NOT MANDATORY IN ONTARIO. TIPPING IS BASED ON THE SERVICE. WHY TIPPING FOR A TERRIBLE SERVICE.
Pricy but below average food quality
Nice tasty, good portion bowl of pho served with plenty fixings. Parking: What more can I say, parking is free. Food : 4/5 |
Really good broth base and amount of meat is very reasonable as well. Thanks
Pho was OK. But we always have to order food by scanning the QR code. How can I order if I don t know about the food? Isn t the waiter waitress supposed to introduce their food? Why am I paying ANY tips if the waiter waitress don t even talk to me? For noodles, they don t provide basil unless I ask.
Great pho with rich broth, tender meat, and perfectly cooked noodles. Friendly staff, cozy ambiance, and reasonable prices. Highly recommended!
Extremely tasty food, with efficient staff!
Being visited this restaurant on Fathers day, it was surprising as this restaurant has not that full overall. The restaurant do have its electronic queue system, so do Remember to take a number first. The food, I must honestly to say, just average, and not the best. We ordered three BYOB Pho noodles and the spring rolls. The total bill was 61.30 CAD (tax included), added 15% tips.... The pho broth have had strong of star anise and tasteless beef broth. The first thing that you will recognize that even you ordered all beef and chicken toppings, the meat were fairly tough and the tripe was nowhere to be found. The spring roll is broiled over and dried, it was pricy and expensive (i.e. CAD 9.25 for 3 piece of spring rolls cut into half). For a restaurant, I was disappointed and should not consider as the best in Markham. The complexity and balance of flavors needed in the broth just wasnt there.
The Pad Thai is only cooked with ketchup, and pretty sweet. The pho in curry soup was good.
Usually my go-to Vietnamese noodle place when I m around Highway 7. The vermicelli bowl is my favourite. However, the service from servers leave me feeling befuddled. Went early in the morning and arrived to a mostly empty restaurant but the server had very little patience when I asked about takeout. Got angry at me when I didn t understand their gesture towards the QR code indicating I had to place my takeout online through their website, even when I m in the store.
The food was amazing. They use qr codes, or the servers can take your order. There is not much selection for vegetarians.
The pho was good, just not mind-blowing like some other Vietnamese places. The broth was good, the rice noodles were fresh and there was a good amount of meat. The My Thap Cam was enormous and does come with a soup with fish balls on the side. Fresh egg noodles with a nice amount of meat and shrimp. Its a little bit on the pricey side for what you get. Come early if you dont want to wait for too long, the place gets full really fast.
food is delicious, bit on the pricey side.
Ok, food here is average, definetly a decent amount of msg (as noted by the thirsty aftertaste) but thats normal. However... the most outrageous part is the price. You have no menu (physical) and have to scan a QR code to order your food. The Large pho option where we built our specs including various types of beef/meat and noodle type came to a whopping $17.00 CAD plus HST and tips, making it around 21-22 dollars a bowl. That is at least 3 dollars more expensive than your average restaurant that serves pho of comparable quality, if not better. Lots of people during the dinner rush and when we left there was a lineup outside, so I guess theyre popular, but Id just suggest you consider the expensive price prior to ordering. Perhaps their other dishes are better but I only come to pho shops for pho lol! P.S. I feel like they didnt put as much noodles as I would like, there seemed to be a bunch of broth but not as much noodle. Quite a lot of meat though so I guess thats nice Vegetarian options: Yes.
Great Pho!
Tasty food, order from a device and quick service!
The pho was just typical pho, but my bill came out over $20. There was also a fly floating around, which I didnt find until I was just about finishing up. This is one of those places that replaced menus with apps. Parking situation was a hassle. Horrible experience.
The food here is the best in Markham, by far. Their pho is consistently great, the banh canh is always amazing. Truly, the food never disappoints. Its nice and no frills with the best Vietnamese cuisine.
Amazing foods, we had the pork hock soup, the Vietnamese curry, and the satay soup, all were spectacular.
We loved this place! The pho was super delicious and the broth was rich and flavourful. The menu has a variety of items and we can t wait to try different things. While a bit pricy (not sure if it s inflation or just this place), we thought it was worth it cause the amounts were generous. Lots of seating available and staff was very friendly. Highly recommend!
Came here recommended by family and friends. Ok food and service. Had better pho else where.
Taste - good Ingredients - quality meats, excellent pickled vegetables, decent portions (not 2 tiny pieces or strings of meat or tripe like other restaurants) Food
The taste is good, hygiene conditions are average, and the service attitude is not very good.
Delicious pho, bun and com. Pho has a fresh noodle option which I highly recommend trying.
This place had fantastic soup! I love that you can pick you noodle and depending on what you order you can pick your broth. The shrimp cake on the sugar can was so yummy and the spring roll were crunchy and flavorful. The Bo Kho reminded my of childhood with the delicious soup and tender beef.
Parking: The pork broth and chicken broth are both delicious. The grilled pork sausage with peanut sauce also yummy. This is now my favourite Pho restaurant. Food
I think the food is great, but prices are way to high.
My second favourite Pho spot in the GTA. Ambiance: 3/5 - Nothing special, but nothing wrong with it either. The tables seem a little close together, but again, nothing wrong with it and similar to other Pho restaurants. Service: 3.5/5 - Mostly good service, but the place is very busy, so can t blame them for not giving everyone special attention. Only had one server who wasn t the friendliest, but again, don t blame them because it s a hectic environment. Food: 4/5 The Pho - I normally get the fresh noodles (but they run out a lot at the end of the day) and that is a 4.5/5. The fresh noodles are what make it stand out compared to other Pho spots. With the normal rice noodles. I d say it s a 4/5. Fresh Rolls with Beef - 4.5/5. I love the flavour of these and it s so fresh and not overpowering. Overall, 4/5 - great spot!
The chicken pho has too much MSG. If you tend to have reaction to MSG, I d suggest to stick with regular beef broth instead of chicken broth. Food : 3/5
QR code to scan menu. Food tastes great. The northern pho had a greater depth of flavor than the other pho, IMO - both still delicious. Decent portion size and service time. Definitely in luck when theres no line up at the door.
Fully satisfied dining in this Pho Restaurant.
The menu doesn t reflect what you re getting.
Food was ok - good portions, generous amount of protein in pho, tasty soup but nothing extraordinary. However, there was almost no service to speak of - restaurant was quite busy and staff focused on serving orders and cleaning tables only. We scanned a QR code to place order; a jug of water and cups were placed on the table; the jug disappeared when our food items started to arrive and reappeared full at the end of our meal - my guess is they forgot to bring it back after refill. Appetizers were served but no one could eat because they didn t give us plates or bowls. We asked for plates and had to wipe them down with napkins as they didn t seem clean. A plastic container for leftover cost $0.50 - a first for all the restaurants I ve been to. A staff carelessly threw a bill tray on a table and it slid onto the floor.
Delicious Pho. Had the Pho house special. Lovely. Weird ordering system. Order online after accessing QR code, but pay the usual way. Feels like covid times. But once you get over that, no issues. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Very fast from order to table. Would go again anytime.
Best pho. Lots of high quality meat in the broth, but each bowl is more expensive than your average pho restaurant. The broth was made with more spices (cinnamon and star anise) which makes it stand out. The bowl is deceptively small, but it ate like a large at other places. You build your own pho instead of picking your pho meat options from a long list of combinations which was very convenient. Spring roll came with 3 rolls, and there was a really good balance of crisp to carb to meat. Waiters and waitresses are really attentive to tables and regularly making rounds and very available when you need to get their attention. Be prepared for a wait at 1:30-2 pm on weekends. Kid-friendliness: There were lots of kids here that enjoyed the meals.
Food is pretty decent, but the atmosphere is horrible. It s super hot and they don t have AC on. One thing I really hate is they charge $.50. For take out. Due to this will not try again.
The best one in Markham
First time came here with my friend. I never knew theres a viet pho restaurant there. Overall i really like the food there. Service is ok, food came to the table fast enough and delicious. Highly recommended. I will go back for sure.
Great and tasty food!
My current go to spot for any pho dishes
Fantastic pho, excellent service times (with an interesting mobile ordering platform from the table).
The pho ok but definitely not worth $20 plus tax and tips.
The pho was very good and I especially enjoyed the platter. Easily ordered with your phone and the staff was very friendly.
One of the best pho in York rwgion
Very good Pho. Different types and fresh noodles.
Great food and service genuinely deserves all the stars!!
We tried The Pho Restaurant over the weekend and overall really enjoyed the food. The interior is very basic, cozy but clean. Theres also a iPad in the front where you can join the waitlist, as this place is often quite busy. We ordered the Pho Dac Biet (house special pho) and the Bun (which comes with up to 3 choices of meats). Portions were quite generous and authentic, pho broth was very flavourful and quality of ingredients were excellent. The Bun was huge the lemongrass pork and beef were delicious. Pricing is on the higher end, but quality and value were worth it in our opinion. Overall we would return; definitely in our top 3 Vietnamese restaurants
Tasty Vietnamese food, a bit pricey but everywhere is the same
Im SO conflicted with this review because the food is really great here (if not one the best Vietnamese pho places Ive tried in a very long time) but the customer service is terrible. Theres one specific hostess/waitress that was rude to my partner and I when seating and bringing our food to us. I had lost my voice from having a cold so I couldnt speak up and she got frustrated with me. We decided to take our food to go after awhile of being uncomfortable and was charged 50 cents for containers...Ive been here before with my parents twice and did take out as well but never was changed for takeout containers then...not sure how they pick and choose to treat customers here.
We were originally sad when the restaurant closed down its original location closer to First Markham Place, so it was a relief to find out that the restaurant had just moved to this newer location. The new space is bigger than the old one, yet still in the same general neighborhood. Our most recent visit confirmed that The Pho Restaurant is one of our go-to Vietnamese restaurants. Everything we ordered was yummy, and the portions were generous. My husband loves pho and really likes the broth and fresh noodles at this restaurant. I personally like bun (vermicelli), and enjoyed that they let you have a larger variety of toppings (3 choices per bowl) compared to other places.
Missing order, both male staff had bad attitude and didnt provide an answer at all!!!
Really nice. Generous with the meat they serve with your pho noodles.
Ordered the curry flavoured pho, make your own pho, and spring rolls. Overall the broth was delicious and flavourful, but the portion sizes (meat and vegs) were a bit lacking for the price paid. They ran out of fresh noodles but the regular noodles were good. Good service and accessible for young toddlers with high chairs. Kid-friendliness: Has high chairs
A bit on the pricier side but the dishes we got was amazing. The meat in the pho were fresh and sufficient. We arrived when the store just opened for the day. You get a 5% discount when you pay in cash.
We had a reservation for a group of 6, and it was busy at 7pm on a Wednesday. I had a large $18.99 C1 pho, which tasted okay but is relatively pricey. There was a bit of confusion with ordering through the qr code website since it said we ordered an extra pho dish when we didnt, but fortunately they resolved the issue. The bill was split by table and couldnt be split by dish though.
I really like their broth!
Fave place for Viet food in Markham! Pho-nomenal broth, pho, BBH, goi ga, and dessert drinks (coconut smoothie with Saigonese coffee) Parking: Parking lot surrounding the strip mall that the restaurant is part of
Flavourful pho noodles here. Quick service. Very small washrooms.
The pho broth was very flavorful.
I had a deeply disappointing dining experience due to the subpar food quality. The soup and appetizer had a noticeable odor of old meat. The servers seemed solely focused on delivering food and made no effort to inquire about our satisfaction or take orders. Additionally, we had placed our food order online, bypassing the need for server assistance. When it came time for payment, I felt hesitant about leaving a tip, considering the servers limited involvement, mainly in transporting dishes from the kitchen to our table.
Wow! The noodles and cold rolls were amazing. I definitely recommend the food here. The portions are large and the ingredient quality is high.
Good Pho but slightly on the pricier side
I got food poisoned. Stay away from this dirty place. If you want to eat pho, go to Nam restaurant near by, which is so much cleaner and better
My waiter told me that the owner is very cheap: lots of left over grilled meat are served (That s why the taste is so weird.) I gave my waiter under the table cash as his tips because he told me the owner gave them very low cash pay and share a large portion of their hard working tips. This is Canada. Let s not support such illegal operations!
Horrible place! Underpaid illegal workers all very grumpy. Stay away from this place if you do not want be eating with fly contaminated cold food
This is the first time I went to a pho place and cannot finished the food. The portion is big and for the price, it is well worth the trip. If you like pho, go to this place. You will not regret it!!
Fire.
I like this place because you can build your own pho with different soup, meat, noodle options. It is a little pricy I think but the soup is good and flavourful. You can join waitlist from Yelp so you don t need to go in the restaurant which is great!
Great pho with amazing flavoured broth. Usually I add Sriracha and Hoisin but honestly this broth was so flavourful I didnt even need it. I like how customizable you can order it online, with details on broth, noodle, meat and garnish choices! Their service was super fast, and this place is bustling so you know its good. Overall: 4.5/5
Service was fine. Food, pho, soup wasnt hot enough. Taste was fine. Food
Tasty Pho My boyfriend took me to The Pho, and it turned out to be a flavorful journey through Vietnamese cuisine. We started with the fresh Vietnamese vermicelli roll with shrimp, and the peanut sauce accompanying it was a real highlight rich, creamy, and utterly delicious. For my main course, I opted for the rare beef with fresh noodles, and I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion of meat. The dish was a delightful blend of textures and flavours, making each bite a savoury experience. My boyfriend, who is a regular here, stuck to his favourite, the house special, and as always, it didn t disappoint. The Pho offers a satisfying dining experience with its delectable dishes and friendly atmosphere. While theres always room for improvement, particularly in some minor aspects of service, the overall taste and quality of the food make it a solid choice. We left The Pho with contented smiles, and we ll definitely be back for more. Our rating: 4/5 stars.
The place offers fresh noodle, which tastes pretty good. The portion is quite small but filling. Service is nice and quick.
I like the pho at this restaurant. The soup base is thick. Will come back again.
Its OK. The pho is not spectacular. I ordered the house special with vermicelli and they didnt even include any pieces of tendon (it should come with it). The broth was rich and savory, but the rare beef was leather-tough. I feel like the serving size was small, relative to the price. Vermicelli was on the soggy side. The ordering system is confusing! You need to scan a QR code sticker on the corner of the table, onto your phone. This loads a menu app that each guest needs to fill out! And youre not made aware of what everybody else at your table has ordered. When the food came to the table, they had NO idea who ordered what, so be prepared to KNOW your order. This would probably make it easier for split billing, but that was not our case - our party of three went with a single bill. The servers were not attentive with the tea refilling whatsoever, but they were HYPER-attentive to us finishing our meals. They asked us if we were finished even before we were finished, and told us that guests were waiting at the door. Like, maam, I can totally see the people waiting. But rushing us was rude. If youre looking for a relaxed dining atmosphere, this is NOT the place. If youre looking for a quick (albeit pricey) pho fix, then yeah, this might do the trick.
The only reason i go there, because their pho is delicious. Service can be improved. Atmosphere is ok. Feels like street food place but inside. It s always packed after 1.
Food here is decent but expensive. Paid 18$ for a large bowl of pho with less than a handful of noodles (noodle amount was less than a single pack of ramen). I was also charged an additional 11$ for extra tripe. Definitely will not be returning.
Tons of msg, was so thirsty an hour after the meal.
