I liked everything. The atmosphere was friendly and so was the staff. Only problem I had was when I got to the stairs outside there was ice at the bottom of them going all the way to the main sidewalk. Just a suggestion but mayb u could put some deicing salt on the sidewalk and steps then clean away the slush afterwards Dietary restrictions: They have gluten-free stuff available on their menus Parking: Lots of room on both sides of the restaurant as well as on the street Kid-friendliness: Theyve got stuff the kids can color and they even have a kids menu which is nice Wheelchair accessibility: Its wheelchair and walker accessible

Pricing is affordable, service is great and the atmosphere is friendly. Staff is friendly as well. Parking: Close to a&w, a barber shop and dairy Queen. Its in a great location. Lots of parking on both sides of the restaurant and theres also street parking. Close to a bus stop. Kid-friendliness: Its kids friendly as well as family friendly. Food has been taking way to long to come out, 45 minites , carrots were hard and cold , burger was hard I couldnt chew it. Use to be so good,

Food was tasty but came cold, waitresses were helpful and would have replaced it but service was slow and we were out of time so I did not ask them to.

Prices are cheap than other restaurants here in the city. I recommend getting their lasagna, it was sooo good. The only problem was we have to wait almost an hour to get our foods. But yeah, the foods were decent for their prices.

The food here is always amazing and feels homemade!!! Soo good and the service is usually pretty good and friendly I highly recommend the beef dip!

It is so nice to find a restaurant that offers gluten free options besides salads. The hot turkey sandwich and homemade brownies were delicious! Looking forward to coming back.

Our waitress was absolutely fantastic and oh so patient. I cant remember her name but we always get her when we come. Lady with curly dark hair. My daughter has celiac and ARFID eating disorder and has a hard time deciding what to eat. She came back multiple times as she couldnt decide and was patient with her and even explained what was safe in the kitchen. We ended up ordering her meal to go at the end. After we paid and we were leaving she said to my daughter I hope you enjoy your supper later. I greatly appreciate the kindness of her and I would love for her to be recognized as a result of this. Eating out is a process for us due to not very many options for people with celiac disease in our community. Argos is definitely one place we trust to come to. Even though we dont eat out often but when we do it is usually Argos. Dietary restrictions: Celiac disease

Prime rip is not worth the price...too fatty and not cooked...yorkshire pudding was stale. Only good item was the potato. Young waitress was great...

I had a business breakfast last week with 5 colleagues and the only good thing about Argos was being able to leave! It took over 10 minutes for anyone to come over and offer us coffee and when they brought the coffee it was lukewarm! We waited about 20 minutes before our order was taken and when it arrived about 30 minutes later it was cold and tasted awful!! The waitress was rude, abrupt, and very unfriendly. As a business, we try and switch up restaurants for our monthly meetings and I can assure you we will NEVER go back to Arogs restaurant. The customer service was poor, horrible food, and extremely high prices. Go anywhere but Argos!

Always great customer service and food.

I got the chicken supreme with a potatoes and veggies. I ordered a side of fries and gravy. All were yummy. Our server was great even tho we had a little pickup with the beer. Dessert, however, was awful. I ordered lemon merengue pie.... the crust was burnt and the merengue was so salty bitter and inedible. I think some one used baling powder or soda in an attempt to make the merangue bigger. But thats not how that works for merangue. Sorry. I did not mention it at the time as it seemed like they were pretty proud of their pies..... the rest of the table seemed to enjoy their brownies and ice cream.

I went with my girlfriend to this place and we had no clue what we were going to get on our first date. This place was so cozy and nice. It was an honor and the food was just amazing. They were always on top of making sure the food was good for us and surprising it was quite a good price for the food. Enjoyed it and would recommend!

Always make a point of having lunch when in Medicine Hat.

Have to wait ages for your food...then when you receive it..its not presented properly on your plate...I had veal cutlets..look as if a two year old placed it on the plate. Service you have to look around to get their attention. Still popular with some regular Seniors. Tell you the truth..this will be my last time like I mentioned in the past in eating here. If I go out and spend what I get on my pension..I expect quality food.. and looks appetizing on my plate. Take your chances if you want..but you will waste your money. I do not recommend.this place unfortunately.

Chorizo Penne was delicious, those with me said they enjoyed the liver and onions.

The food here is tremendous. They make dishes that I hate making at home but love consuming. Great place to eat.

I don t typically write reviews but felt this review was necessary. 10 of us went in at 11am and we didn t leave the restaurant until 1:30! Two and half hours for a meal is unacceptable. In 2.5 hrs the waitress came to the table to drop off a canteen of water and coffee and never once asked the 4 children if they wanted refills on their drinks. The food was luke warm and mediocre at best. 2/3 bills were wrong and to top it off they added gratuity to the bills. One quiet apology when the bill was dropped off isn t how you keep your customers happy Argos.

I dont recommend you go to Argos hungry because you will be ready to eat the furniture before your food comes. We waited over an hour for ours. Im told this is not uncommon. The food and beverage options were almost overwhelming. There were a lot of different choices! The server was very lovely and helpful. It was worth the wait. The chicken Quesadilla was really, really good. So when I go the next time I wont go expecting my order quickly. If it comes sooner, it will be a nice surprise.

They have fresh cut fries, charbroiled burger with really good bacon. Home made pies with really good flakey crusts, and home made whip cream on top!

I am writing this on behalf of my parents as they do not use the Internet. They were at your restaurant on Friday January 23 between 1 - 2 pm and they received the worst service! They waited for OVER AN HOUR for their meal and every time they asked how long it was going to take, the server was extremely rude and said about 10 minutes. She never once asked if they would like more water, they had to ask, and that took her about 15 minutes to do! She treated them as if they were a bother to her. When the food arrived it was lukewarm and tasteless! She never asked how the food was nor did she acknowledge my parents except to give them the bill. There is no worry about my parents ever bothering one of your servers again as they will never go to your restaurant again. Not will I if that is how you treat customers! If I could give your restaurant zero stars I would! Customers should NEVER be treated the way my parents were. Management never apologized for the horrible service or offered to comp at least one of the meals. Horrible management and service from this restaurant. I DO NOT recommend this restaurant at all.

Really disappointed. We have been coming here for years. Seems like the last while service has become non-existant. Food quality and portions not what they used to be either. I really hope they turn it around. We used to love coming here. So hard to find family owned restaurants these days. Argos please improve we dont want to lose you.

Normally I wouldnt leave a 1 star review for a skipthedishes order but what happened was absolutely ridiculous. We arrived in medicine hat late after driving straight through from Edmonton. We had a hungry family, especially our 2 year old. My order including delivery and tip was over 80. The order kept getting pushed back, Im assuming because it was Friday, so whatever, it happens. It finally showed up much later and when I opened the hotel door, all that was there was the mushrooms. My husband was so angry and of course the store closed 30 mins before the ordered was dropped off. Skip gave us a refund on everything except the mushrooms after a 25 min back and forth conversation. We wont be using argos or skip in Medicine hat again.

Waited 15 min for drinks 45 min for food,but when paying they AUTOMATICALLY ADD 20%gratitutitiy without any indication on the Bill.So we tipped twice$40 tip for $60 meal,Avoiding this place will be easy.

I have been going to Argos for years now. But feel the quality of the meals are not what they used to be. I had a hot hamburger sandwich on my last visit. The fries were few and looked as if they had been under a heat lamp for hours. The meat appeared to be out of a box with gravy that was likely made from a mix. Will not be ordering this meal again. Very disappointed in both size and quality of the meal.

We had ordered for delivery at 6:30 on a Saturday knowing it s a bad time, the food showed up within the designated time and was absolutely incredible . 5 stars all around!

This was a new experience on a Sunday drive, one we will repeat. We enjoyed a great meal, served by a most attentive staff member who went above and beyond. Argos provides a relaxed, quiet atmosphere - perfect for a slow dinner and conversation. Ill be recommending Argos to friends passing through The Hat.

Tried their Ceasar dressing when they had a pop up at Safeway in Calgary. My family likes it. We tried a few stores that their websites says it s available and they have been discontinued. We wanted to buy more and tried contacting the restaurant several times. No one returned our calls after we were promised they would and the other times they would really-direct us back to their website. Tried to support a localAlberta business but they seem not to be interested.

Love, love , love this restaurant, the food is delicious, well prepared and the staff are great as well. My favorite restaurant in town right now for sure. Those battered mushrooms just melt in the mouth delicious.:))))

We ordered Argos today for our anniversary. The mozzarella sticks were decent. The Caesar salad was good. The lasagna was very bland and the chicken parm looked like road kill and it is not good. The fries that came with were hard and super dry. I ve tried the dill Caesar dressing so I had big expectations because the dressing is so good but I ve been highly disappointed. Will not be ordering again.

Best clubhouse for sure!

This was a really good choice for our family meal together. Booking was easy and they selected a quioter spot in the restaurant. The appetizers were fabulous! We had the spinach dip and dill spears. There was a good selection of main meals also. It was a very busy place with good value for your dollar.

Argo s restaurant never disappoints, the food is good ole home cooking. Staff are always excellent and friendly. Highly recommend.

Had reservations (party of 6)for 13:30, got seated right away. And drink order taken and menus dropped off. Drinks came quick. Foid took forever! Did see oyr waitress much between ordering and food atrriving an hour after sitting. Potions were very small, food warm not hot. Definitely poor $ for value. We wont return nor will we recommend to anyone else.

Brought my wife and kids for lunch. I had fish and chips, my wife had chicken Caesar wraps, and my kids had pancakes. The fish batter was burnt at the edges, and soft otherwise. Certainly not crispy or fluffy as I would expect. It was dense and left me feeling not great afterwards. I didnt finish it, needless to say. I would rate it 2/10. The knives struggled to cut my boys pancake, which was leathery and surprisingly tough, almost as if it were cooked a different then microwaved. The chicken Caesar wrap was average. Upon first sitting down, I was met with a musty/moldy smell I could not place coming from the bench at the booth we sat at. There was a film of dust covering the bannisters and the little pot light at our table. Overall, I was quite disappointed. I felt gross afterwards and regretful. The prices were decent, but only had the food been decent, which it was not. We wont be returning, needless to say. Kid-friendliness: We were given coloring sheets and used crayons.

The amount of time from ordering our food to actually getting our food at lunch was over 45 minutes & two of us only ordered chicken fingers and fries. The restaurant was only moderately busy and we have been to other restaurants at lunchtime and we have never had to wait this long for our food to arrive. It s ridiculous!! Don t go if you have to be somewhere at a specific time.

Right off she got the order wrong. The coffee was terribly weak. I was served with some kind of dirty knife on my plate. I asked the server what it was. Oh well it looks like some kind of chocolate. That was it and yes thats it for us too.

Large menu All meals are small. The salmon was very dry. Youre only offered one side. Because there was 5 of us we were charged a service charge and then on top was asked to tip so the waitress that wasnt very good got $42.00 we should have been told there was a service charge and that covered the tip. For a family struggling this was a hard bill to swallow.

Went here with my kids and some friends after an event. The hostess was great - we had a larger group so it took a few minutes to get seated. She was very courteous and made sure the table we had would work for us. The waitress was honestly horrible, she hardly talked with us, got 2 of our drink orders wrong and didn t bring a drink for one of my kids. She also left our table as we were asking some questions about the menu and didn t return for a while. We waited about a half hour before our orders were taken and she did not check on us at all while we were waiting for food. We waited for an hour and no word of our food. 3 tables around the same size as ours that arrived the same time had been served and left before we got our food. Our table decided that if one more table got their food before us (a table that was seated about 45 min after us) we would leave. They got their food before us, we were given the excuse that it s busy on Fridays and I can t control the kitchen . Our food was just being played so we got it to go. Overall very disappointing experience, food was okay - the steak looked like something you d get at Denny s and the Kids meals were sad. I Would not recommend dining here.

Unfortunately service was beyond slow. Over a 20 minute wait to be greeted at our table. Over 45 minutes for four meals. Refills were slow, food was mediocre at best. Unsure if they were short staffed or what. At least communicate that to your patrons. There is no excuse for a 2.5 hour meal.

My wife and my went to dinner tonight order appetizer and our meal the appetizer took 40 mins to come out we were not checked on once at all after another 30 mins we got up paid for our drink and appetizer and we re where leave as the food was coming out we paid for what eat ate and drank but after 1hour and 15mins we didn t want the food and left worse dining experience ever

I met this wonderful lady that turns out to be the owner of Argos at Safeway Midtown Calgary. She explained her Ceasar Salad Dressing and I bought one. Family loves it so much. I chose the one with the Dill flavour. I cut some heirloom tomatoes and put a teaspoon on each one and had it with steaks the other night. Awesome. I highly recommend this product and will purchase more.

I just moved here 4 months ago and since coming here, I ve kept coming to this restaurant as one of my new favs. Their food is always delicious I love the poutine, their crispy Caesar wraps, the quesadillas are really good also! Friendly staff, longer wait times but I m okay with it since the food is good!

This is one of the best breakfast nooks in the Hat. We have been here three times and no one can match the price quality of 10 CAD for two eggs, bacon, and homemade pancakes in the city.

Stopped in for a what we figured would be a decent burger and we were not disappointed. It was hot and juicy with a great garlic flavor and the bun and toppings were fresh and delicious. Unfortunately last night was not an experience that was expected at this place as we got seated last night and ordered 1 starter and drinks as soon as we sat down and never received our drinks for over 30 minutes.. 45 Mins goes by....Still no starter, as I was just getting ready to leave after almost an hour of waiting.. and drinking all my water that i waited forever for..here comes the starter... soggy cheese bread... I was choked! Than I asked how long it would take for our meals as its been about an hour and the waitress tells me that they made all of our food at once but she brought out the starter because we wanted that first... well after an hour of waiting for a starter the last thing I wanted to hear was my food was made and waiting in the back for me to finish my starter... not sure if theyre understaffed or a small kitchen..but either way HORRRIBLE service

We recently discovered this remarkable restaurant.. large menu, friendly staff, great liver and onions! But last night we tried their fish and chips . yikes! The batter was thick and inside was uncooked and gooey, the fish was at best warm. The staff was obliging and replaced the dish with another two slabs of grease soaked under cooked inedible fish accompanied by over salted undercooked fries. The waitress told us the staff precooks a bunch of fish and then re cooks it again when ordered . Which would explain the soggy mess we were served and couldn t eat! And then we were given a 20% discount on the bill for the food we couldn t eat! Try Moxies instead

I have been here on two occasions. The chicken cordon blue is good and they have bread pudding. Other than that Argos is frustrating. Food was cold, we had mozza-less sticks, service is very slow. There was a fight in the kitchen tonight. Made for a very odd dining experience yet again.

Ok. My friend said this is an excellent place to eat SO I really wanted to give a good rating. Under the circumstances, Im unable to do it. The service was terrible and the steak sandwich was the worst Ive eaten. No char whatsoever and I needed a chainsaw to cut the thing. The pumpkin pie was excellent, mind you. My meal came to just under $28 and a tip was expected. I cant believe I tipped, but I did. Given the pie was about $6.00 Id say $21 was wasted money. Because this type of meal is the new standard, I dont go out much anymore so the time I do, it is very disappointing, indeed. Id rather spend on a fast food hamburger joint because I know the standard is poor and know what to expect. I feel I got ripped off for the amount paid.

It a sad place if you are coming to pickup an order. It gives cry to the drivers. Honestly it s amongst good restaurants in the city but when it comes about delivery drivers, they will ignore you until you lose all your times and money.

We waited 1 1/2 hours for our food, the kids pancakes where hard as a rock I couldn t even give them to my daughter, the hash browns where not cooked all the way through. The breakfast on a bun was cold. The only good thing about that place was the chocolate milk and coffees. I would NOT recommend.

Absolutely mind blowingly bad . It s hard to give out such a bad review but I wouldn t give 1/10 stars. This place belongs on kitchen nightmares let s start with the service, server was nice, didn t give us her name, walked by and said it ll be out anytime (3times) didn t get us refills. Then the food, we came before the supper rush as we were taking a senior relative out for dinner. It was not busy when we sat down and ordered but became quite busy. It took 47 minutes for our order to come. The waitress told us to be careful the plates were hot, and they were but some of the food was STONE COLD. I mean my mashed potatoes felt like they came out of the fridge, gravy had already formed a thick skin and my wife s burger was rock solid hard. The hand breaded veal cutlets turned out to be same ones you would pull out of a freezer box. I guess for the price l, which is probably what I consider low (From Calgary) but my god it was not worth $5. They clearly cater to seniors who have 0 tastebuds left and 0 desire to complain. All of this, when asked if our meal was good I replied not great . Both the server and the host who took my payment said NOTHING. Strange, like they ve heard it before almost. I believe that the Family in Argo s family restaurant means they have the whole family working there, well it s time to fire your uncle Jimmy in the kitchen cause he is clearly drunk

This was first time at argos and i expected a better meal. The first line staff were superior they were curtious and efficient . The atmosphere was appropriate for a good dining experience. My prime rib was tough and not appetizing. The veg and rice were good. The dessert was excellent. Compliments to the one who did the cheese cake. I felt the baaf should have been much better and locally sorced. Average is all i can rste this

Havent had one bad meal yet. The food is outstanding!

Very nice place with a huge menu

ordered 1/2 order spaghetti with double meatballs. husband ordered breakfast special. waitress dropped spaghetti order and had to put a rush order into kitchen to replace it. when it came it was undercooked pasta and the meatballs were small and quite spicy. meat sauce was good but it was the only part of the meal that was. husband s breakfast was decent. no compensation offered for delay in meal time caused by accident, not even free coffee.

Home cut fries were dry. Took a long time for food to come out.

The service was great and the food was excellent
