Amazing restaurant with a wonderful authentic menu. Their atmosphere is incredibly clean and beautiful. They always have amazing staff that will always be sure to make your visit fantastic where yours sure to always return. No complaints ever out of the many years weve been visiting them, and highly recommend. You wont regret it!! Not to mention as well that they have been so supportive and beneficial to our little community here in Medicine Hat. I definitely will always suggest this restaurant to everyone I know.

It is my fist time going here and I did not get enough help. It ended up our family is waiting and we decided tp go somewhere else. We just thought we are not important for them

Everything here is absolutely delicious. The red curry halibut is my favourite! One of the best places to eat in town.

We live an hour away so most often we get the Pad Thai - my ultimate favorite -but my friend has had their famous pork dish, curry dishes and Ive had their Mai Mai and Chicken Cashew. We have NEVER walked away disappointed. You can order the dishes mild, med or Hot - I like flavor but not too hot and I order the medium - My friend likes spicy so orders it HOT !! The way they present their dishes makes you feel you are in a Really expensive restaurant and its a fancier restaurant than most !! They have reasonable prices !! We are going tomorrow for Our Valentines Date !!

Excellent food and service!

Just had the best meal I ve had in Medicine Hat and it s not even close. The Peanut curry is phenomenal. Would recommend goong pow jumbo shrimp if you like seafood and the service is exceptional. This is my new go to spot.

The Thai Orchid Room is my favourite restaurant in Medicine Hat. The food is fantastic, the servers are very nice, and I have enjoy it every time I have eaten there.

First time back since the lockdowns. Came with a family group from Calgary area and everyone raved about the food and service. Several have visited Thailand and stated this was some of the most authentic flavours they had experienced outside of the country. This is a family operation with top notch food, service, and staff. Highly recommended.

The restaurant has a spacious yet cozy interior. The server was very nice and the food arrived quickly. The BBQ Thai pork was juicy and flavourful, and jasmine rice was good. That said, I got a feeling that the restaurant serves the more westernized rather than fully authentic Thai food.

Id give this place zero stars. I was extremely excited to have a thai soup Ive been traveling all day I call, and order a soup I just picked it up and came back to my hotel to eat it. For starters the container isnt full what SO EVER I ordered the larger size paid for the larger size and got this tiny container of soup thats missing a bunch of liquid SO DISSAPOINTING and annoying.

Not authentic. Overpriced, small menu and only half was available??? I was there yesterday, I think the excuse was a person wasn t there so no soups! Food : 2/5

A little gem in Alberta we were travelling through to Saskatchewan! Thai food was excellent! My husband and I have been to Thailand so we highly recommend to try it. Looking to have a light refreshing Reisling try the Kung Fu Girl (we just liked the name ordered it more to say we tried it, Ill buy it now), we started with sharing the Tom Yum soup, then for mains we shared the Thai BBQ Pork and Yellow Curry and to finish it off we shared the Coconut Creme Brulee. What a delicious meal, we hardly ever order desserts but this is a must. We should have taken pictures but who knew we would enjoy it so much. Ken, I think is the owner, his wife is the chef, was lovely we had a nice conversation with him and Jacob was our server and offered recommendations, thanks for your help. We will be back!

If you are looking to stay in your comfort zone this is the place for you. We ordered Khao Soi in fact we came for because Khao Soi was on the menu. Unfortunately Khao Soi is not what we got served. We received red curry with over cooked noodles, pieces of chicken, prawn and what seemed to be a variety pack of frozen vegetables. We where missing the authentic flavor, the deep fried noodles, the drumstick, and the pickled mustard greens. Dont get me wrong it tasted good. It was just very westernized and did not justify the high price. The service was great and the location satisfactory. If you are looking for authentic Thai food I would recommend to keep looking.

Food was good but I really wish I paid attention to the prices before ordering. $45 before tip for four spring rolls and a curry bowl. That s insane. And before the owners reply saying our loyal customers know the quality is worth the price blah blah blah no. My fault for paying it, but your food is too expensive for a return visit.

Wonderful peaceful atmosphere. It feels so luxurious in here. The food was AMAZING. I got the red curry noodle bowl and it was incredible. A little spicy so if you have a low spice tolerance you may find it too much for you. Finished with coconut crème brûlée. 10/10

Great food, but they can lay off on the political undertones for a better dining experience.

I had the green regional curry, medium, and my partner had the same, hot. My sister did a mild yellow curry. All were incredibly flavorful, with just the right amount of kick for each of us, and loaded with vegetables and meat. It was phenomenal! We will definitely be back!

Hi, just to make sure you remember me and my family who had our lovely evening today ruined by your owner. My wife and kids flew from Vancouver for the weekend, pretty tired when we arrived. Just wanting to eat something and head home. Your owner came back and forth multiple times giving a dagger look to our table, which made me really uncomfortable. My son was playing, but not really doing damage. I asked the server and even the other costumers around, they didnt mind. Next time maybe put a sign where it says you are not kid friendly so people know how you feel about kids. Also when I was with my wife one time before, a white family was beside us and their toddler was doing the same. Im not sure why this evening it was a problem for you. We are Filipino by the way. We paid the whole bill plus tip, and left. Hopefully that made you feel better.

Thank you so much for being the voice of so many people that cant! Not only do you have the compassion to battle issues like increased utilities, rude companies that dont deserve peoples respect and your amazing food and atmosphere! We need you on the city council!

Great evening , great service .

I m not usually one to complain but I ordered a dinner at 5:20pm to be delivered in MH was told 40-50 min. A 6:20pm I called the restaurant inquiring about my order, got an apology stating delivery driver was delayed should be picked up with 5 min. Called back at 6:45pm asking again about my order, got another apology stating driver was on the way to pick up. I then asked how long my food had been sitting waiting for pickup, it s been sitting under the warmer since 6:03pm and they were still going to deliver that food. Horrified cancelled the order and my Valentine s Day reservation. Extremely disappointed

My wife posted a review a few weeks back of a unpleasant experience, well I must tell you the Thai orchid room staff and owners definitely made it right tonight, fantastic meal, great customer service and delivery time was outstanding. Thank you all so much for making it right.

Had the Pad Thai and Halibut which were amazing. Incredible staff helped us make our choices and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend this restaurant if you are in Medicine Hat.

Terrible, this used to do such good food I could not speak highly enough, but recently this has gone downhill, we ordered pad thai and it did not even taste like it used to,they need to get their chefs back before this place fails!

Top notch as usual. If there is a better Thai restaurant in Canada, we havent found it. We are from Southern Ontario and nothing there comes close. Very,very pleased.

Great food, fresh spices. Came for the Pad Thai but the Cashew and vegetable curry stole the show.

The food was excellent, but I had to ask the server about the specials, we werent checked on during our meal, and he failed to inform.us ahead that they were out of a specific menu item.

We were just passing through Medicine Hat and found this gem!!!! We didnt have a reservation, but we were seated promptly and courteously. Our server, Hadiza was very professional and rendered excellent service! This gives us a reason to visit again next time we are traveling through. Five stars. Great experience.

We came to this restaurant by chance and the food was delicious. And the staff was very kind. One of the sons came to talk to us in French (he wanted to practice - he studied at school) and what a nice guy! I strongly suggest this restaurant to everyone.

Very good, but pricy, as mains are $20-30. Nothing to complain about other than being more expensive than comparable Thai places.

Loved the food here and the price was reasonable for what you get. If you like spice then this place should be on your list of places to eat.

Decent food but not really authentic Thai.

Wow what a difference a year makes my original review is below and was 5 *. So you can imagine when we found ourselves in Medicine Hat again we made our way to the Thai Orchid Room. Before we ordered I overheard one of the other servers explaining to another table that they had ran out Jasmine Rice, so when or server came to take our order and starting to tell us that the disks we ordered come with jasmine rice I asked about what I had heard and yes infact we could have coconut rice or sticky rice. We ordered with coconut rice which is always what we order with Thai food anyway. Then the wait started, after about 20 minutes our server returned to tell us that or dishes were done but they had run out of coconut rice as well would we like to wait 10 minutes or so while they made more jasmine rice??? We didnt order jasmine rice, we told them to bring out the dishes and when the rice was ready to bring it of separately so we could at least get started on the noodle dish we ordered. After another 15 minutes our server arrived with 2 bowls, or more aptly clumps, of sticky rice and puts them on the table without an explanation. At no time did anyone interact with us and apologize for the experience and offer any redress to what was happening. ----- below is our original experience. ----- We were in town for one night and found the Thai Orchid Room by chance early in the day and decided to head back for dinner. The service was great, the restaurant was clean and the food was fast and very tasty. Highly recommend if you like good Thai food. Parking: Free parking

Pad Thai is good, if this were a fast food joint!! EXTREMELY over priced for everything. The cook yells at waitresses. Extremely distracting from my meal will not be returning. Not safe for children.

Some days you get lucky. Stopped here on a drive from Saskatoon to Lethbridge just cause it seemed like it might be a step up from whatever was on the highway. Very nice place. Great service, good food, spotlessly clean. If I ever pass there again it will definitely the place I stop.

We had to do laundry from travelling and the Thai Orchid Room was right beside the laundry and we decided to give it a try. I have been to Thailand several times and for longer periods so have had the opportunity to eat real Thai food off the street vendors, restaurants and better restaurants. I was missing it. Unfortunately, there are vegetables and things in Thailand that you just cant get here that are in the dishes there. That was the only thing missing from the food. It was so good otherwise. When I visit Medicine Hat again, I will, make a point to go back for a return visit.

Excellent Thai food, the service was ok which was understandable as the place was fairly busy during our visit. I would recommend Thai Orchid Room to any one who llikes Thai food and for those wanting to give it a try. You cant go wrong with the red or green curry dishes, adding your favorite protein and some coconut rice. You will not be dissapointed.

I love the fact that they offer Thai cooking classes as well as have a chefs table for private functions upstairs. We cant wait to come back! Thai Orchid Room has been in Medicine Hat for a while now and they have been exceptional in service and food every time I have been there (more than a dozen times). The food has been excellent every single time; consistent, filling and well presented. It is worth the price and would recommend to everyone. Delicious food!! Nicely decorated restaurant and these people know what they are doing!

Food quality is outstanding, and the service was great too. While it is maybe a bit in the slightly higher price range, the value is there because of the portion size and taste. Very nice decor and atmosphere. For first timers, the place isnt immediately easy to find as the sign is a bit hard to see, but you can trust the address on Google maps. They accommodated or large group and everyone was extremely happy with their meal.

Excellent food every time I ve gone.

Called over 50 times during posted open hours and every time it said they were on the other line. Almost an hour of calling and still nothing. Very disappointed as you are no longer able to dine in and can only order by takeout a few days a week.

I ve eaten at this restaurant a few times. The peanut curry is amazing, as is the cashew chicken, pad Thai and prawns. That s everything I ve tried. There is also a vegetarian menu, and a kid s menu! Lovely atmosphere and staff, It is fantastic and we are very lucky to have restaurant of this caliber here in Medicine Hat!

Whenever we choose a place to eat out in our home town, The Thai Orchid is our favourite! We love everything about it. The food is exceptional, the atmosphere (the booths especially) is warm, inviting and very comfortable, and the service is THE BEST. One feels valued as a customer and you are treated like royalty.

So so delicious! This is my favourite Thai restaurant, the owners and staff are amazing! I would give it more stars if that was an option!

Wonderful food. We usually order the green curry dish because we love it so much. Not very adventurous on our part I guess. We love that we can have it as hot and spicy as we like it. The service is always great.

The food and service are always so fantastic! We visit whenever were in Medicine Hat.

Food and service were good. I should have asked more questions...I had the pad Thai, which in the US is something different. Good amount of meat, noodles on top, so no meat is visible at first - huge portion. No veggies. There is the option to add veggies, which i should have asked about...the dish has always come with some kind of veggies where Im from. Sauce was on the sweat side, so odd for me. Taste was good....just not what I expected. Tea was pretty good, iron pot kept the water hot for a very long time, and they do refill with more hot water.

Fantastic food and service!

In town over the weekend for an event, we decided to eat here as it was highly rated and had veggie options. We drove over and when we got in we could see It was very busy and almost all of the tables were filled so we were hoping there was something available. Right away we were greeted by a very polite Host and he set us up with a table promptly, making sure our seating arrangements were good and comfortable. He brought us silverware and our menus right away. I wish I grabbed his name because he made us feel very welcome and taken care of. Mei, our server came shortly after, letting us know all of the specials and letting us decide for a while on our drinks and food. We ordered when she came back to check on us, and after waiting only about 3 minutes ( incredibly quick seeing as how busy it was ! ) our drinks arrived, and then our food not long after (Maybe 7 minutes total.) I ordered the Tofu Pad Phet without fish sauce, and my girlfriend ordered the Veggie Noodle Pad Thai without egg. The food was absolutely amazing, we both commented on how great it was throughout, and Mei came to check on us to see how it was tasting, and then again to see if we needed refills on our drinks or anything else. We finished our meals and paid. Overall, our experience was that it is a very professional, clean and well-put-together restaurant. I only wish we visited Medicine Hat more often to enjoy the food and service again. Thank you guys, youre awesome ! :)

The food was delicious! I want to try everything! Our waiter Jacob was charming & professional. Always a great experience.

The food was very good but service was awful. They were way under staffed and we had to keep reminding them about our drink and food orders. When we would ask for condiments we would be waiting so long the meal was over. It will be awhile before we go back again, maybe never.

The staff are very attentive and extremely friendly. I had the sataman curry and it was delicious. The others in my group also had curry and thoroughly enjoyed it! I would highly recommend this restaurant as it seems a hidden gem based on location and street view!

Amazing food!!! Incredible service, and the owner Ken made us feel right at home!!! We were passing by medicine hat and decided to go for Pad Thai and soup!!! And OMG!!! This place has ruined all of my favorite Thai places. Its that good!!! If you want GOOD Thai this is the place to go!! The appetizers were such a hit too; Prawns, Calamari and the Bamboo shoots were all incredible!! We will make the drive just to go back to eat!!! Thank you for the hospitality!! -The Manitoba Crew

I love this restaurant. The food is fresh and cooked perfectly. Waitress was pleasant. Our last visit they were very busy and my order was incorrect. It ended up being a while before I could point this out so I enjoyed the meal and asked to have the price adjusted accordingly (asked for seafood and was served chicken). Waitress was willing to change the plate but I was too full. Next time!
