My wife and I went to Fry Daddys for lunch. The GOOD: The onion rings and the fish were tasty. The BAD: The ribs were very old and dry and, although the restaurant was practically empty, the server never came over to ask about our food until it was time to pay.

This is a very warm welcoming place. The atmosphere is fun and welcoming, the food is good, and the staff was great, too. I wish I lived closer so I could go there more often

Best pan-fried haddock in town at the best price! Cant be beat! This is a must try because you will keep going back. Erica is the best! Remembers our order and drinks, feels like cheers in that place.

When Fry Daddys first opened in Middle Sackville, the service and food wasnt very good. I have since been back now that Terry is the manager and WOW what a difference. The food is so good and the service is very good as well. Its such a nice atmosphere. I absolutely love seeing Terry! Check it out next time youre in their area!

Waiting one hour plus with a toddler and our food never came. When we asked, his burger was still frozen solid. We left

Best Wing Night!

Took a large group 1 hour before closing. Very accommodating but we ordered as soon as we arrived and left at closing time. Food was very good.

Not a bad thing on the menu.

The food is really great. The batter they put on their fish is extremely light and fluffy. Their frozen fries were surprisingly better than the hand cut fries. They have extra batter and our extra crispy.

We stumbled upon this hidden gem, and it has quickly become our preferred spot for date nights! The cozy atmosphere is truly incredible, complemented by top-notch service Terri is a rockstar! The food is nothing short of amazing, leaving us eagerly anticipating the opportunity to savour every item on the menu!

Honestly we love going in to sit down and eat! The staff have treated us like family since day one. They all know us by name and get it right every time! The past 2 times we have done take out, and we choose to come back because we know it will just be perfect when we get home! They even remember the side items and made my weird coffee perfect! Thank you for always treating us well! Kid-friendliness: They have a great kids menu with many options to choose from including dessert and drink!

For the most part, disappointing. I ordered take out- a 2-piece fish and chips. I was handed a box with 2 small pieces of fish and a small amount of fries. Though the fish was hot, the fries were only warm. Tartar sauces and coleslaw was OK at best. The batter was light, but very salty. The waitresses I interacted with did their job, but I would not call them friendly. This is Nova Scotia, good fish and chips should be found everywhere, but this is hardly the case.

Tuesdays are the best. Black Horse beer on tap. Great food and service. Sports TV, a great place to watch a game and have a socialable. Had a Fry daddys drink. Awesome taste and presentation.

The fish,cole slaw and fries were great but not enough slaw and the batter was different. Most of all it was very pricey. 1 pc and 2 pc was 35.00 bucks. Too much for that. But the fish pieces were huge. Id give it a 5 but wont shop there again. First time in too.shopped local and Im happy for that.

Really good food, from what I could tell it was a house made burger with a good selection of burgers. The menu has a good selection of food. There is a great variety of milkshakes, they could be a little bigger for the price, other places are. Service was great. I highly recommend it.

Best fish and chips in HRM

Have always enjoyed Fry Daddy s fish and chips and usually go to the one in Lower Sackville. Not sure what going on but the fish and chips did not even remotely seem like fry Daddy s and were terrible!!! I don t know if this is true of all Fry daddies now or there s a change at this particular one. We got take out as usual and the girl on cash was rude and unhelpful and irritated that we were trying to make use of a visa gift card. She wasn t able to figure it out so we just paid debit. I should have called back to complain but didn t bother. Not sure I want to try again at this spot.

Ive really been enjoying wing night and live music on Thursdays 7-10pm! (If youre reading this down the road, check and see if its still on if youre counting on it ) Weve been trying the appetizers and the deep fried pickles, wings, and spinach dip are great! They have a really good Oreo milkshake! When we go on regular nights, the fish and chips and fish tacos (and fish bites for kids) have a nice flavour to the batter. Some of my favorite fish tacos are the ones they have here. Nice little outdoor patio for when its nice out, weve always had a positive experience with the staff

Fry Daddys is the absolute best restaurant! Their fish is to die for, and everything else on the menu is phenomenal! We love visiting here with our kiddos. Kid-friendliness: My toddler wasnt treated like he was a burden. Our waitress was so kind to him, and she was so sweet.

Had an awesome lunch here. From Ontario, I had the fish tacos and I think this is how they are suppose to be. I have had many fish tacos in Ontario but nothing like this. Delicious and amazing. Cheers

Great service and food

Imagine going to a restaurant & they charge you extra money for condiments. We ordered 3 orders of kids sized fish n chips & got about 7 fries and we were told it was an extra 1.50 for a tiny thing if tartar sauce each, & did not even come with cold slaw. The fish was so hard in sticky, i could not even chew it. Our order came to almost $40. Not a good business move at all. Wont be ordering from fry daddys again. I would also like to mention that the last 3 times Ive been there, our server had a nasty attitude & slammed our glasses down on the table. She was sarcastic & not in a nice way. There are some really nice workers here but this one is always rude.

10 days in Sackville and finally got to check out Fry Daddys...although our order was to go, we enjoyed some Deep Fried Pickles while we waited and they were great!

went earlier tonight with some friends. our server was AMAZING. honestly one of the best servers i ve ever had. i didn t catch her name but the receipt says her name was chelsie. she was super friendly and answered all our questions easily. the food was great and service was even better. would absolutely go again. tell chelsie she s great!

A nice little eatery with a menu that will hit the spot for nearly everyone looking for comfort food. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was flavourful and well portioned. It did the job and Id return again for a bite to eat.

Ive eaten here at least once a week for around 18 months. I assumed I had already left a 5 star review but here we are. When I first moved to Middle Sackville from the UK (via Ontario, dont judge me ) I got fish & chips from here on my first night after the move, and then four more days in a row, before quickly working my way through entire menu. The Fish Tacos are what Ive landed on as my favourite but Ive not had a single menu item Ive not thoroughly enjoyed. The weekly features are always great and more recently Ive discovered the milkshakes, which have quickly become a very unhealthy/healthy addiction. The staff are fantastic, especially with my 3 and 1 year olds. Im lucky enough to get Terri and Ericka most visits who are both especially great with me and my family. Would absolutely recommend this gem of a business to anyone.

Excellent place to eat in Middle Sackville. The Montreal smoke meat sandwich on rye is very good. Ive eaten here many times and never been disappointed.

Stopped in for lunch today and had the tips and fries and got hamburger. Good was delicious and portions reasonable. Service was superb and so friendly. Always a good spot to go.

Ive been here a few times as my daughter lives in Middle Sackville. From the time you walk in the service is excellent, very friendly. The food is delivered promptly and always hot. I cant recommend this place enough, try Fry Daddys you will not regret it.

Ordered Nachos pick it up..It was A Plate Piled with With Chips WITH LITTLE CHEESE ON TOP..Called they said we will make A New One...Pick it Up...Got Home ..SAME..CHIPS WITH LITTLE CHEESE ON TOP....NO FLAVOUR WHAT SOEVER..NEEDLESS TO SAY I WILL NOT ORDER NACHOS THERE AGAIN..HOPE THE REST OF THE MENU IS EDIBLE..

Fry Daddys is a great restaurant. Very good staff who remember who you are. The prices are about average, everythings expensive these days, but the food is delicious. Ive tried several menu items and they were all very good! Ill keep coming back as the overall service, atmosphere and food is above average throughout HRM.

If I could rate higher than 5 I would. We have gone here a number of times now and we are never dissapointed. The service is always great, the atmosphere is nice and the food has always been excellent. The fries do come with a dusting of seasoning, I dont eat salt so I always just ask for it to be left off and its not a problem. Their burgers are not the cheapy pressed frozen kind, theyre actual meat that theyve made into patties themselves. The ribs are cooked to perfection, meat falls off the bone. Their fries are delicious, not frozen ol shoestring like so many place serve now. They have some awesome desserts (I dont eat sugary treats) according to my husband who LOVES their home made ice cream sandwiches. The servers are also super friendly and helpful and go out of their way to accomodate, even after their shift has ended. Well keep going back again and again :)

Weve dined in this wonderful place more than a few times already. But last night wasnt at all as good as before. My wife ordered her usual chicken wings and i had their 6-bone rib rack with fries. The server asked me if I wanted gravy with it and i said yes. The wings came after 20 mins and the ribs 10 mins after. The long wait would have been ok if the wings, especially the ribs, werent bone dry. I swear they were not like this before. The ribs were dry to the bones and charred. And when we got the bill, i was surprised they charged the gravy that came with the charred, bone-dry ribs. I asked why and the server said because i ordered the gravy. First of, she asked if i wanted the gravy with it. I said yes. She did not mention that it was extra. And the poster ad on the wall of the ribs did not mention it either.

Great food for the price. The servers are knowledgsble and friendly. Service could not be better.

The supervisor that works there is the crankiest, rudest, and most unprofessional woman I ve ever meant. She was the most ignorant person I ve ever dealt with. Do yourselves a favour and avoid this place at all cost. Go to Toms or Freeman s if your in Sackville and avoid this place like the plague. And if you post a negative review on their Facebook page they will block you and delete the post. Just a classless, unprofessional workplace. STAY AWAY!!!

Good sized portions, reasonably priced, and super quick with takeout orders, the pan fried haddock is pretty delish!

A really great surprise - just moved to the area and every time weve visited the food has been great, the service friendly and the atmosphere lively. Definitely recommend if youre in the area - portions are pretty big, so its great for sharing and trying new things.

How was the first one in my party to get there, the server sat me at the table. Tossed the menus on the table instead of server will be right with me, with her back to me as she was walking away. The server we had was wonderful the food came out pretty quick I ordered a one-piece fish and chips and it was so salty, I was literally wiping the salt off to try and eat it. You could see all the grains of salt all over the whole dish. Coleslaw and tartar sauce were served in these tiny half ounce portion cups. And the somewhat lukewarm lumpy gravy wasnt special. For dessert, I asked for coconut cream pie to be given a almost frozen piece of some store-bought pie I could probably get at Costco. This was the second time Ive been there. the first time I was less than impressed as well, however they were very busy and had just returned to dine-in service after the pandemic shutdown. So I understood some of the shortcomings. All the staff looked miserable. The woman who seated me looked like she hated being there and probably couldnt crack a smile with a crowbar. Its my turn to pick the restaurant next time we go out, so Ill be picking somewhere else.

Had the fish and chips. The batter was very good. Service was decent. Portions were a bit small and I could have easily done a 3 piece. I suggest getting an appetizer first if your hungry. I may go back and try the poutine. Parking: Parking isnt great as its next to a gas station but there is adequate parking.

Freindly staff, quick service and delicious food. To us if you are craving excellent fish and chips that is the place to go in the HRM area.

Went on a Wednesday for the Extreme Poutine for $11.00 special, ordered 4 poutines from their Extreme Poutine menu, 1x donair poutine and 3 x waffle poutines, when the bill came the donair poutine was $11 while the 3 waffle poutines were $11, plus a hidden $4.50 waffle fry surcharge. Very deceptive and likely wont be going back. Was contacted by owner, was overcharged in error. Problem solved! Will be going back.

We love the Buffalo chicken sandwich here but go with the knowledge you will NOT have a good customer service experience or take out and save the disappointment! They nickle and dime you for everything... I asked for a bit more hot sauce to add to my burger as it was quite dry... you bet a charge was added! Such a wasteful restaurant as everything is in pre portioned plastic cups that are as small as they can find... your coleslaw comes in a condiment container so basically one bite. The manager is honestly just awful... I truly dont know why she works in customer service because she REALLY seems to hate it! Some of the other servers are sweet as pie but you can tell they are even nervous around the manager. Side note: my son got the kids meal ND for dessert got the worms & dirt (Pudding dessert) and it came out in a plastic Pudding container (like what you would put in your kids lunch) with some stale cookie crumble and 2 rock hard gummy worms...

They have the twist ice cream and you cant find that just any where any more.

I ordered the Newfie poutine and I was so disappointed Being from Newfoundland and homesick due to the pandemic I was so excited to have some fries dressing and gravy. Definitely false advertising, the Newfie poutine had Nova Scotia stuffing, not Newfoundland dressing. I think they should rename the dish. I tried some of the lemon pepper fish bites and they were fantastic though!

This review is based solely on customer service. Fry Daddy s has excellent food and amazing milkshakes. That being said, during my most recent visits, I had the same very rude waitress. Today, this employee rung through my order at the take out window for ice cream. She made me feel foolish for asking her a question, and was extremely short with me. I m sure there are wonderful employees at your restaurant, but this particular staff member should not be serving your customers.

They have good wings I ll give them that, but the servers are rude and the burgers aren t fresh and clearly microwaved when served.

We ordered two burgers and two fries. After paying, the staff member informed us it would be a half hour wait (most places tell you that before you order). Its now been 46 mins without our food. I dont even care if the food is good at this point. We wont be back. Expect to be waiting a while.

The food was excellent and paired wonderfullywith the friendly service. If you like a cold Black.Horse, its the place to be.

Breakfast today, nothing special, if I could recommend one thing it would be to serve your customers decent bacon when they come for breakfast, if you like four pieces of bacon that can t be cut any thinner then this is the place for you, the four pieces don t even equal one piece of thick sliced bacon it s so thin. I won t be back!

Food was amazing, but very small portions to eat it, take out has alot more food in the bag then whats on youre plate in the restaurant, I did like how the waitress kept asking if I wanted a refill on my root beer witch i appreciated at time because apparently I walked into the busy rush for take out and ended up waiting just bout an hour for my food to show up, witch I dont mind but to my thoughts youd think they would have more cooks back there but they only have one, so just be wary on wait times when coming here.

Ordered take out it was super disappointing. The burgers were very very dry my bf ordered the bourbon burger and it had no sauce. The croutons in the ceaser salads were stale. This was our first time ordering from here and we weren t impressed at all

Are we aloud to bring our own condiments? Charging $1.50 for a tiny pre packaged sour cream for a large order of potato skins is outrageous. (Only one is given, which is used up on 3 potato skins. And charging $1.00 for a small cup of wing sauce is just cheap. Should try to keep your customers happy, Especially ones that supported you throughout Covid, sometimes twice a week. It s too bad you would lose business over this.

Like that they have mashed carrots and turnips with the pan fried haddock. Other places only have those frozen mixed vegetables. Fish portion is kind of small however in the one piece meal.

The service was excellent, restaurant is very clean and the washroom was spotless. We both had the Tuesday special (buy one get one half price fish and chips )which is very tasty. The fish is a good size, very fresh and has a crispy batter. If you like milkshakes, youll love these. They are served in ice cold metal containers that they are made in. The strawberry is out of this world. Well be back.

We made our first visit the other day and even though it came highly recommended, my family and I were quite underwhelmed. There was nothing special about what we ordered, it certainly wont make us return. The place was clean and the atmosphere was pleasant. Our server was friendly and took our order right away. However, what we ordered atleast wasnt enough to grade a higher score.
