Cracker Barrel Old Country Store in Midland

Awesome food and waitress. Unfortunately their checkout process is horrid. Their online system doesnt like accepting any credit cards. Had to wait forever for the checkouts due to a very slow (single) cashier. Then the tap to pay is now useless (for touchless payment), as they ask a ton of questions on the credit card machine.

i like Cracker Barrel but everytime we go it takes forever to get our food and they were not busy at all.

We had a wonderful waitress. She was probably running 8 tables and boy did she do super. She took her time to talk to you.

I ordered the meatloaf dinner with 3 sides, mash potatoes, green beans and okra online for pickup. I clicked the button for silverware and extras and selected silverware and butter for my biscuits. I got back to my hotel room and realized, I didnt get silverware nor butter. The okra was so hard, it was literally uneditable. So I called and spoke with a manager, who was polite and apologetic. He said he would give me a 5 dollar credit, which I assumed would be off my next order. But to my surprise, I was charged another 11 dollars and change. So now my card was charged a total of almost 30 dollars, I only had enough to cover the original meal and a few dollars extra. So I then was charged an insufficient funds fee from my bank. The second manager I spoke with informed me that the original charge would be refunded to my card in 3-5 days! Some good that does me now. Its just unbelievable that a meal, which was subpar at best( I didnt even mention how the meatloaf was burned on the bottom and the biscuits were hard as a rock) cost me 50+ dollars.

Excellent waitress. Very busy and crowded but staff did a good job. Ordered 2 veg plates to go after dinner but one plate only had 3 veggies I guess we were just unlucky. But overall it was still good Parking: Lots of parking

Connie truly gave us excellent service. Also my friend was in wheel chair & the sales people up front went out of their way to help her take care of her shopping needs.

Thanksgiving lunch expected it to be crowded. But the food was barely warm. Understand it was a hard day for the kitchen staff.

We ordered the thanksgiving turkey breast meal for 4-6 people. The turkey and green beans were good. The rest were subpar. It was good there was only 3 of us and 2 who don t eat a lot as there was not near enough gravy or cranberries. The dressing was extremely dry. We heated everything up as the instructions said to. Will not be ordering our Christmas dinner here

Placed an order for thanksgiving. Never received the email to pick up the day of, like the email we received the day before said we would. Called the day after and spent 32 minutes on the phone to find one person to say a simple phrase, yes, of course you can come pick up your food . EDITED THANKSGIVING MORNING...Then when we when to cook everything this morning we didnt realize that the crumbs for the broccoli casserole was not in our order. So theres that.

This place has really went downhill. Took a hour to get seated then half of the limited menu was not available. Avoid this Cracker barrel. It is the worst ever.

After short wait due to Thanksgiving lines we were seated and received our bread immediately. The Thanksgiving meal was delicious. Just wished we had ordered an extra to take home. Waitress was very attentive and smiling in spite of the Thanksgiving crowds. We are always pleased with Cracker Barrel and look for one wherever we are on the road. Parking: Dont know but it was Thanksgiving and there were at least 100 cars parked around the restaurant.

I had a small catering order that was heat n serve that I was picking up. They called twice before to say they were out of the ham I ordered and offered subs. When I got there it took almost 40 min for someone to even acknowledge I was there after I had called (no one answered) and rang the alarm many times. I went inside and asked for someone - still 10 min then someone came out and said they didn t have it together but they would get it together. They were out of loaded hash brown casserole but didn t say thing and just gave me the normal one and didn t have the apple pie and offered pumpkin or pecan (that I already had). They offered to give me extra Mac and cheese and hashbrowns for waiting . When I unpacked it, it was only what I had ordered. They didn t give me the plates or table cloths I had ordered. I was at the store over an hour and I was the only car picking up . It was not a great experience at all. And the stuffing was inedible it was so dry.

It s always wonderful! Vegetarian options: They offer several selections. It s a good menu. . Parking: It s a large parking area Kid-friendliness: My kids love the board games. It keeps them busy while waiting. Wheelchair accessibility: It is easy to get in and out. Everyone is very helpful.

It is always a delight to visit this restaurant, while you wait your turn you can buy some of the things it offers, all super original and cute. Super attentive waiters and delicious food.

Connie in the Midland Restaurant gave us excellent service tonight. If you ever come this way, ask for her station.

we love coming to cracker barrel, the last two times weve been here were horrible, the service waa really bad, the place was trashy and the waiter kept messing up on our order and complaining that hes been working since 6, when it was around 1pm. Server took forever to take our orders, the teas that we wordered were super charged, we asked for him to change it, he watered the drinks down and eventually told my wife that if she needed the softer tea stronger, to just pour it from her other drink.. The food came out cold and he forgot to bring out my toddlers plate. I asked for biscuits, they came at the very end of our entrées. Really bad service. Sadly we wont return anytime soon. YOU GUYS SUCKED THIS TIME.

The food was awful. We love eating at Cracker Barrell, its one of our favorite places but we wanted breakfast for dinner and everything but the pancakes tastes stale and dry. You can tell it was reheated from earlier. Very disappointing!

The food had no flavor fish was small they would not give me hush puppies with the catfish said that that dish didnt come with hush puppies. The Cole slaw was drenched in mayonnaise you could practically drink it . The tea was watery. And they dont give you enough food. The waitress was new she was friendly but she didnt know what hush puppies were.

Our waitress dropped the ball multiple times. She was constantly nowhere to be found. But this gave us the chance to meet Ty. Ty was not our server he was from another section and noticed the problem himself. Ty went out of his way to make sure that my family and I had a great experience. I do not write reviews for restaurants but I had to for Ty. He is awesome and goes out of his way with a huge smile on his face. Thank you Ty and thank you Cracker Barrel for having employees like Ty!

Called to ask for the wait time and they told me they couldn t help me to look online. Booked a reservation online and the estimated time was 40 minutes they sent me a text that said wait was 50 minutes, only to wait an hour and be told it was over an hour a half wait time! WILL NEVER BE BACK!

I server never checked my coffee until the end of the meal. Asked for small milk got large. Wanted biscuits had to specific how many. The expediter was friendly. We each got one napkin! The server Needed more training. Food

Ordered online. Waited 40 minutes past what the email said. Didn t even get to eat because I had another appointment. If it s going to be an hour then your app needs to say that instead of making the customer wait 40 minutes.

I love the blueberry pancakes. I always get breakfast and everything from scrambled eggs to biscuits and gravy have always been excellent. Parking: It doesn t matter which Cracker Barrel restaurant I go to. I have never had any problems parking.

We are a rewards customer, but for the last 3 visits we have had the worst service, but this time was the last straw, we had a group of 6, half got there food, the other half of food didnt arive until the other people of our party were done eating. + the steak was not cooked properly and had a funny taste to it. Did not even bother asking or talking with manager, it obviously would do any good. This is very unacceptable, then the manager had the nerve to ask with an attitude, if we wanted the rest of order or not. This is ridiculous. This may not matter to whom ever reads this post. If thats the case, it just proves my point and part of the problem and not the solution.

I love the place. But it was very slowly. We had our meal very late and my daughters was hungry. Kid-friendliness: Yes, they accepted kids.

Great services and food

It was loud with multiple kids screaming, parents fault. Waitress was really good and nice. I ordered the meatloaf sampler, the meat loaf was absolutely raw in the center. It wasnt done and was ice cold in the center. We shopped after eating and the cashier was pretty rude. She kept talking to another worker who was on he cell phone so instead of paying attention to checking us out her attention was on the other employee and we ended up getting home, in another town, without 3 of the uem we paid for. Bag of circus peanuts, bag of peanut butter logs, and a bag of Chico sticks. This is unacceptable customer service.

We waited for 30 minutes for our server to come to take our order before we left. Restaurant was not busy.

To go food not ready. Coca-Cola cake looked like someone used their hands to dump it in container. All mushed up.

Weve been to this location on several occasions and always get good service. Today was the only exception. Server was friendly but seemed to have forgotten about us on several instances. Not enough to stop us from coming back. Food was still great.

We are in town Midland, Tx from Missouri. We are here on business. We have visited this location #CB0637 a few times out of the six weeks weve been here. Almost decided not to go back. However, a very bright & outgoing, kind, professional young lady has restored our faith. Amber was our server this evening. For the 1st time we were greeted quickly, drinks promptly, food served hot ( not left sitting until server decided to grab it) , very kind & attentive young lady. Amber is certainly a good listener, caring, & positive person. We will return because of this young lady. A few times we sat for way too long waiting to be greeted, get drinks, & hot food, etc.. Had lunch at the Cracker Barrel in Midland, TX. The store was beautiful and the service was great! Out server Tatyanna was very helpful and super sweet! Highly recommend

Absolutely Disappointed Cracker Barrel in the quality of our meal. We have always been avid fans of Cracker Barrel due to the consistency throughout the US. The food was cold, lacking and my French toast came out drenched in cinnamon sauce. We will not be back to your Midland, TX location.

Today is Sunday October 20th 2024 It is 9:51am. To the manager in the blue button up shirt. It would be more professional of you as a manager to talk to your employees in private and not in the dinning area. My husband and I done heard your full conversation while jumping on 2 employees butts. You told the first kid you will talk to him after his shift. Well you should have talked to him in your office. Do better management you DO NOT do that in front of customers shame on you

We loved our food and environment! Amber made it better with her wonderful service, she s an awesome waitress! Anyone visiting this location should ask for Amber. I promise you, you won t be disappointed!

Had steak and eggs. The steak was tasty, but a bit over cooked. I asked for medium rare and got just past medium.

Coffee was cold the first time, second time around when I told the server it was warm , appetizer and salad came out with the food, by the time 8 started to eat my main course, food was cold, and cheese bits were stale, only cracker barrel in the area, what a shame

The quality of food served was mediocre at best while the service was quite nice there were a few times I was missing items due to the waitresses negligence although the lady serving us was nice the fact that we as a group had so many missing items really dampered the evening, as far as the restaurants atmosphere as a collective it looks like the quality from previous visits has fallen off whether it be do to lack of quality service or my having a bad experience I sincerely hope things get better.

My visit to Cracker Barrels was pleasant. I had breakfast, it sure did hit the spot. My waiter was very polite. I really likes the store they have in there.

Ordered online to have delivered, the delivery was fast and smooth, by favor. I was very disappointed very, the mashed potatoes were so thick they were breaking into pieces, the green beans had no flavor, white gravy was also so thick it would wouldnt even spread on the chicken fried steak . The chicken fried steak just crumbles when I was cutting it up. Worst I have ever had from this location, I will not return! The time of day I ordered was the beginning of dinner service 5:00 but the quality was like out of the bottom of the pan at closing.

Everything was fine, until he forgot my order and canceled it.

Cracker Barrels interior design has become an equal experience to the wonderful food they cook. It appears to me at each location that the staff is hand-picked and only the kind ones they choose. My wife and i enjoy dining there in our travels. And have yet to be confronted with bad service! Everything was great but the server! I didn t get any bread or butter. Never had my tea refilled. Never saw her again between bringing tea and bringing check! I also told her so!

Food quality has gone down and they discontinued some favorites. No okra. It seems like they are trying to rebrand along the lines of Apple bees. And we all know how that turned out.

I was disappointed finding out no more fried okra, then I was extra disappointed when we ordered our fried chicken and was dried out, what happened to what ckracerbarrells originality and authentic southern dishes and quality? Sure has gone down hill, guess Ill be going down the opposite direction, if you cant have what you once enjoyed, why bother. Vegetarian options: Not too great

We were curbside, the girl that brought the food out was a sweetheart but the cheese literally looks like a slice of cheese kinda melted on the hashbrown casserole, I have to reheat it at the house cuz its so unmelted. Id add a picture but thats not an option on here.

Manager Billy wouldn t allow the server to bring a small sample of Chicken n Dumplings before ordering. I ordered something else after all, but wanted to try them before deciding. My dad had a choice of two sides but didn t know that until after the meal was served and he had two of the same things; because he didn t tell him he wanted something different for his sides. They NO longer have Okra!!! They have had a lot of complaints about that.

If the service would have been better this place would be 5 star. Our party of 8 waited 1-1/2 hours for our food and got 1 refill during that time.

We came in to Cracker Barrel for my mother s 64th birthday on a Sunday morning around 9:30am. We didn t realize how many people would actually be attending but it ended up being roughly 20 of us. Our Rising Star server, Matthew, and the others jumped through HOOPS in order to make sure we were well taken care of. The level of care and customer service provided outmatched nearly any restaurant in Midland. It s the consistency of quality southern food and the genuine hospitality that keeps Cracker Barrel at the top of mind when wanting to enjoy quality time around the dinner table with family. Thank you Matthew for doing the impossible with a smile! We ll be seeing you again!

The service was very good. My breakfast order came out hot and very tasty. The bacon was especially good. This thick bacon was a treat and I enjoyed having a mid-morning breakfast with my friend. It was not so noisy that we could talk and enjoy having a nice breakfast.

The waiter was attentive but forgetful. But I give him an A for effort

Went with the family, staff very undertrained. Lots of dirty tables being ignored and people just being seated around them. Waitress never came around for refills, forgot sides, put in completely wrong orders. Didn t bring biscuits until the meal came (which was roughly an hour to get). No syrups for pancakes and anything missed on our table became our fault. We weren t rude or anything, my in-laws were eating with us so we were all on our best behavior. We weren t rude, we will just never go back.

The menu was wrong said pick 2 item from choice of 3 for $8.99 I ordered soup and salad when got bill charged extra 1.99 for soup. I told waitress and she went checked menu which didnt show extra price and their system wouldnt let her take it off. After asking talk to manager he eventually took it off

The food at Cracker Barrel was good as always. We ended up getting a new waitress, who was very unresponsive and with a short-term memory. From what I understand, Cracker Barrel restaurants have a new menu and procedures, such as not getting bread unless asked for. There s nothing positive on the new menu for the consumer, that includes prices and selection.

Good country cooking. The menu has changed a bit, so it wasnt as easy to choose and when i order he didnt let me choose a second side like it came with and just told me it comes with something that was already on order.

Excellent service. Food was on point. Delicious. Our server was fantastic. She made sure I had an endless supply of sweet tea. In this texas heat, you need it.

I had the pecan pancakes and I counted about 5 pecans on my pancakes . There must be a pecan shortage. The server was excellent though.

The food was good, as always. But it took 1/2 hour longer to be ready than expected (on their app) and was missing add-ons that I paid for.

The food tasted fine. It just took so long to get it. I ordered a salad with my meal but the salad didnt come till I was done with my main corse. The prices were kinda high too. The server was very attentive and kind. Overall not a bad experience but not the best I have had at a cracker barrel. Plus no fried okra anymore!

I usually go for the trout and greens dinner but that has become a Monday only meal. Service is slower than it should be and the staff was inattentive that night considering there were 8 groups in the dining room and 3-5 staff. They are usually better but you arent judged by your highs but your lows.

It was my first time getting delivery n it proved my point on y it s better for me to go n pick up or just dine in my food was cold I was missing food and my breakfast plate my eggs were hard n looked nasty I spent $45 to just throw in the trash

Me and my wife had a bad experience due to waiting long time to get our drinks and we got our appetizer cold and when we order our food, We waited for 40 minutes for food to come in, but my wife s food didn t because apparently they ran out of what she order and the waitress never told us.

This was the perfect amount of food and delicious. The blueberry pancakes hit the spot.

The chicken took 57 minutes. The waitress left in the middle of our meal. Drinks werent the best. Dont take this as Dont go eat there but the service wasnt good this time.all of our partys meals came out but they forgot one. Had to wait for his food while our was cold waiting on his to come out. Food wasn t terrible but it took 45 minutes to get it and the waiter could care less, then the hot water went out and they closed and the waiter was pretty much trying to get us to hurry and leave so he could go home because he didn t want to be there anyways

Prices are still very affordable, cheaper and way better than fast food. Service is good, restaurant is clean, and the people are friendly. Food was cooked just right, and delicious. Coffee was good as well. Real close to a home cooked breakfast experience.

Came to eat dinner, dumb Hostess tried to fit 5 of us on a 4 top. I asked Miguel(A curly headed server) if he could sit us on an actual table. He said yes. We requested him and he absolutely did amazing! Service at this establishment always Sux, but Miguel A gave us exceptional service! Keep this guy! Let him train your other servers! They all Suck! Miguel A doesnt! Will Def be back and ask for Miguel A. Hopefully they wont run him off! Hostess is dumb. Thats why you got 4 out of 5 stars.

Amazing

The service was super slow and we saw the waiter rarely. My husband ordered meat loaf which ended up having a bone in it so that ruined his meal. I had to go up front and tell them what we ordered because we never saw the waiter after we got the food. On a better note they were really nice at checkout.

EXCELLENT SERVICE GOOD JOB

It s always a hit and miss at the Midland location. Saturday breakfast was a hit this time, we got seated right away with a group of 6. Server was amazing and satisfied every want. Eggs were fluffy and not over done this time. I m not sure why 3 pieces of bacon were crispy and one strip hardly cooked, but I enjoyed the crispy strips and my chickens got the hardly cooked strips. Kid-friendliness: Excellent for kids.

Usually, Im all about Cracker Barrel, but tonight, I was severely disappointed! I wanted to try their vegetable soup. It was ice cold! The waitress apologized and took it back to bring it back within a few minutes with the broth nice and hot, but the vegetables were still cold. She said she microwaved it wrong. The manager apologized and said they just got a new microwave, so they removed it from my ticket. The fact that they dont warm it over a burner but a microwave just ruined it for me! What else do they microwave??

The workers at this Cracker Barrel are the best. They served our giant party of almost 20 with a smile and gave our newly wed parents a beautiful congratulations and peach cobbler!! Thanks to Mirna!

Its one of my favorite places to visit! I absolutely love the clearance section. They have such a good deal.Also, make sure youre a rewards member.
