I havent been here in a few years, if they still have the smoked porkchop it is definitely worth a try. Of course, the brisket is as good as any famous TX spot

I found this place by accident. Wow!! Great BBQ, I ll be back for sure. The home made peach cobbler is a must. Everything was on point for Texas BBQ!! Bomb!!

The food was okay here but it seemed to be wildly overpriced. The inside decor was some of the coolest Ive ever seen at a barbecue place.

Barbecue brisket and spicy sausage is good. Ribs, dry brisket ar ok. Could be better, lacking flavor. BBQ sauce nothing special, extra sugar on one, extra spicy on the other. Smoked Baked potato not my favorite. Sweet BBQ Sauce to cover up the lack of flavor. Customer service is poor. Its one of those places owned by asians that want you to buy and get out.

The price doesn t reflect quality at all. $35 for 2 pieces of brisket and a little sausage and 2 sides. Dry flavor less brisket and over cooked greasy sausage. Someone needs to show these people how to bbq. Hands down worst I ve had I don t know how this place stays so busy

Good bbq

Had a great lunch here. BBQ was well prepared and super tasty. Like the dining room with its kitschy decor. Iced tea was excellent. Service was friendly and attentive.

My husband and I see the sign of the best Bq at Midland Tx so we decided stop and eat. Our meat was dry, that sauce was terrible and pricey. It looks like a one time was good, NOT NOW DONT WAIST YOUR MONEY !!

I got all meat. I got brisket ribs hotlinks & brisket. Brisket was dry with a burnt flavor. Ribs tough with barely any meat on them. & the hot links had a weird texture. 0/10 waste of $25 I took pictures of the meat but didn t se where to add it.

Overpriced and mid bbq. My sausage pieces were burnt but the ribs were OK. Husband didnt like his food either. Was 100$ for us both. Ridiculous and will not be back. Like an overpriced Coopers bbq but nowhere near as good. Beans were too sweet

Some of the best ribs I have ever had.

Had brisket, ribs, and sausage. The brisket and ribs tasted like their fire died and was restarted mid-cook, or they fed it some green wood. Legitimately reminded me of some of my early errors when learning to smoke meat. The service was prompt, and the staff minding the dining areas were admirably diligent.

We stopped here on our way from Kansas City to Big Bend National Park! We love KC BBQ so we were excited to finally try Texas BBQ. KD BBQ did not disappoint. My husband and I shared chicken, turkey, jalapeño cheddar sausage, brisket, beans, and coleslaw. The meat was AMAZING - the turkey and chicken were literally the most tender pieces of meat I ve ever had.

Brisket and ribs are amazing. They were smoky and delicious. I drove over 10 hrs, and it was worth it.

This is definitely the weirdest place Ive ever eaten at, especially for a BBQ place. Its not really a restaurant, its more like a place to get your cooked meat for a party/gathering. While the meat we had was good, the sides were limited and bland. They have it set up like a broken up, multi set cafeteria/buffet stations. The website says they have plates with sides and sandwiches. However when we got there they only asked if it was to go or eating in and then you pick out your meat and pay by the weight of the meat and the sides are an extra charge. On another station you have bread and a couple topping (pickles, onions, etc) and bbq sauce. Their sandwhich bread is on this station and its plain, cheap white bread. No buns or even toasted bread. It is way over priced and I was not impressed with the service either, they acted annoyed that we didnt know how to go through the weird set up. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because the meat was very good. Everything else just sucked.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Brisket was pot roast with burnt fat. Good protein, not really bbq in my opinion. Pot roast and beans. It d be awesome in Minnesota. Which makes it not BBQ.

To be fair , the brisket was not as good as people anticipated it to be. I payed 44 dollars just on my meal which is far to expensive. Would not recommend to ANYONE. Definitely over hyped and not worth it at all for the price i payed

We ordered brisket and potato salad. Sadly it was hard to order as we were unfortunately unable to communicate well with the staff. When we tried to ask questions it was clear there was a language barrier and against all my best attempts to learn, I just can not seem to grasp a second language. The brisket had a distinct smoky flavor. I do not prefer that taste and the potato salad seemed like it had chopped pickles in it. It also had a strong vinegar aftertaste and smell. It was also a little pricey as well for what felt like was an overall let down, we had never heard of KDs but decided to try it as we were passing through on our drive down to the border. Overall, I didnt enjoy the food or the experience.

The sausage was good. I had fun. Mostly all of the customers were first-time customers I didnt see any repeat business. The roadside billboard is effective at bringing them in. The brisket had a good smoke ring, tender; however, the taste signified dirty smoke-- not that sweet smoke from low and slow Probably from the highway traffic turnover. Better wood means better smoke. Overall Im satisfied for a great lunch. Definitely a tourist trap I spent $100.00 on 2plates desert and drinks. Bought 4 tshirts for 30 bucks a nice deal on souvenirs.

we found this place and it was excellent! The meat selections were awesome and didn t even need any barbecue sauce. It was so good and tender.

3of us had lunch, food was great , bill was 84.00, my part was 8.40, ( had a thin slice of brisket) but cashier ring up $18.40. Did not notice this until after we left. Will call KDs later about mistake.

The meat was too dry. I asked for a juicy piece of brisket, and the plate was 21 dlls, and I ended up paying 40 dlls. It was my first time there, BBQ Cooper has best quality and juicy meat? Food

Absolutely solid bbq. Everything is amazing from the ribs, to the brisket and the sausages. The sides are delicious too- especially the baked beans. A little pricey, but you absolutely get what you pay for. The staff there is very nice and helpful and they ll take care of you your whole visit with nothing but smiles.

The bbq was ok. The smoke flavor blah, the spicy bbq sauce very spicy but good! The bean nice and spicy. The potato salad overly salty and blah. Good Cole slaw. Over all the food wasn t worth the $30 each with a drink. The meats charged per pound and 2 ribs with some brisket was almost $17. If the food had been a little better the price would have been fine

Not what you would expect in authentic Texas barbecue The meat was Soso, the potato salad was a little sour, and the barbecue beans were terrible. Cool, Rustic little place too bad the food ain t better.

Corn wrapped in the foil no taste at all goes for the chicken also. Potato salad more like mashed potatoes. Turkey had to dip in the spicy bbque for it to have some taste. Sliced brisket I give it a 5 out of 10. Never again will I spend 36.00 here. GO TO DIXIES instead no way they call this bbque. -1 Star oh cashier not friendly at all.

The Bbq was mediocre at best. We both got sick after eating here. The brisket was super greasy, the potato salad was the worse I have ever eaten. and we spent $60.00 for 2 people! Not impressed and will not be back! Ill stick to soulmans!

Ive been hearing a lot of good things about this place and I happen to get a load coming through town so I thought well, Ill stop and give them a try. Yes its a cute little place but it is way way overpriced. It was over $75 for three people to eat. For a chopped beef sandwich, two slices of brisket and some sausage. It wasnt worth it. I realize it takes a lot to barbecue and people are probably in this area expecting to pay more than what they should because of the oil field and everything here is so overpriced Its not even funny. But I will not be coming back to this place. Who cant afford it? I cant.

I had been to KDs a couple years back, probably pre-covid, and compared to now, I feel the food was just a little better and there was more options, especially on sides. That being said, the BBQ and sides they did have were great and the service was top tier. Would still highly recommend.

That was the best brisket I have had in a long time. It was moist and flavorful. Also had the turkey and it was amazing.

I really wanted to like this place but there were too many negatives that did it for me. Starting off with the good, they are very nice people. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was very good. The ribs I got had good flavor but were just a bit dry. Now the brisket is what I judge a Texas Bbq joint on. And this one was a 0/5. Dryer than a flip flop. Would have likely failed a tender test if it wasn t so dry either. It had good flavor but nothing could overcome the dryness. I f I m spending these really high prices I can t get on board when the brisket comes out like that. All in all it was a bit of a rough one.

In general everything is good and we had excellent service. The only thing I would like to suggest is that they pay more attention to the cleanliness of the bathroom, when we were there it was in very poor condition.

Food and atmosphere are great!! The only reason for 4 stars is the price. I m not by any means cheap and I appreciate good food and all that it takes to provide good food and service. However, this takes it to an extreme for BBQ in Midland, TX. So be ware the way it works bc i was not and got rudely awakened by the price shortly after you grab your tray, and then somebody asks what meats you want and they slice or put it on your tray, then you move to the buffet type area where they weigh your meat on butcher paper, then they right the price on the butcher paper (just the meat price), then you select desserts, any other sides, and your drink as you move toward the register. At this point you lose the family cow and your first born child. Very good BBQ and brisket beans though.

Was not happy with it. Prices was way to high and the food did not taste good at all. I grew uo eating here and had been gone several years and came back to find this. I had slaced brisket, tater salad and beans.

I got ribs and brisket. Meat was very bland, very little flavor. Way overpriced for what you get. Upside potato salad was very good.

Great bbq! Pretty expensive but worth the money. A few changes to the restaurant makes waiting to get in nicer. Still one of the best.

First time here, the young lady that showed us where to go and what to do was very nice. It was just my husband and I and we paid $65 for us two which generally would not be a problem BUT the sliced brisket was dry, the chopped brisket in bbq sauce was cold as if it had been pulled out of the fridge and put in the warmer but didn t warm all the way through. The Jalapeño cheddar sausage was really good but again it was cold. I m not talking cooled down, they were fridge cold. The outside of the sausage was warm to the touch but the inside was cold. This was our first time so we may consider trying it again but might be unlikely since first impressions are pretty important. The sweet tea was good and the peach cobbler was great. They need more side options though, mac n cheese and green beans maybe.

Great food great service! A little on the expensive side, although it s what you would expect for a barbecue joint. The place is old fashioned style real rustic/western. All in all great food great environment great customer service.

The ribs were ok ,but the brisket were dry i could not eat it in total. The BBQ salsas have a weird flavor . In total it was expensive and no really that good.

Rib dry and hard, brisket really dry over price for quality

Expensive, but I wouldnt mind paying if the food was better. If I cooked a brisket like the one I had today I would have thrown it right out and pray nobody ever found out I desecrated a good piece of beef like that. Fortunately I had a piece of sausage to go with it but even that was just so-so. The beans were just blah, but the coleslaw was decent. I tried their vinegar sauce but it may as well have been water, nothing like a vinegar sauce at all. The peach cobbler was pretty good, but maybe I was just happy to get that brisket washed down with something that had flavor. Probably wont return, I could do as well or better at Dickeys and I dont consider that a compliment.

Had dinner here with my honey. The food was excellent. Walked out with my wallet agonizing and my body slowly succumbing into a food coma (No really, it s that good!!) Best BBQ I ve had in a long time and probably the best in Midland.

I didnt know you can have a negative review text removed, so heres another edit to let people know the food is far overpriced for a very minimal amount of food. And was nowhere near quality BBQ. Sausage was dry, brisket lacked any smoke ring and extremely greasy (not in a good way, but like artificially added). And 2 tough ribs. Not sure about the other +reviews, maybe they mistakenly ate somewhere else, paid marketing, or the locale is so remote they never had the real thing? Getting my previously detailed review somehow removed makes me think paid marketing.

BBQ was really good but a little on the pricey side meats is sold by weight pit boss cuts portions thick and big all sides are extra not like any other BBQ spot I been to they have rig parking thats a plus its ok to get your BBQ fix

Great food and great service

Food was soo good melted in my mouth moist. The service was happy and cheery showed me how to navigate through the line quick it was busy. The staff made sure I w was well taken care of Ill definitely be back ribs were good and I love the sausages or brats the pork chop was like a pork cotton candy just fell of the bone and melted in my mouth. They also had smoked turkey and brisket but I like what I like.

Worst experience of my life. Horrible customer service I was just rushed and couldn t even enjoy anything and the food was way overpriced for what you get the food was very dry especially the meat all you get is fat. The tea was very dry. I see why hardly anyone goes there.

I stopped by after a day of ATV riding. I hadn t been there in about 7 yrs. The Decor is Antique Stellar. Back then it was Sub Par at best. However, on 4/29/2023, I thought that the price of $21 per lbs on all meat was Pricey. I chose turkey and Ribs. I also got the potato salad and the Free beans. Total was around $26. The Staff was Super Nice and Friendly. I ask the meat carver if the sausage was house maid. After several repeated questions about the them being house made, another person told me they were outsourced. I passed on the sausage. The turkey kinda looked like it might have gotten some smoke but it was warming in water and still dry and Tasteless. The ribs looked to have some seasoning on them and had the taste of week old left over ribs from Dickies. The mashed potato salad needed Everything. The Free Pinto Beans tasted like beans and water. Probably the Worst I ve Ever had at at a place of business. I really should ve turned around when I walked in. There were around two tables that had full trays of partial eaten meat left on the table. I will say that KD s meats is the number 1 place for the Worst alleged BBQ in Texas that I ve EVER had!! KD s should stand for Keep Driving. FYI. I hope that KD s could real listen to the Customers and put more effort into the meat there passing off as BBQ . If not, be the First to have robots making the meat because that what it taste like. Good luck. Always stay 1st!!!

Great BBQ.

Some of the best BBQ in Midland, Texas with a nice assortment of smoked sausages, chicken, turkey, pork ribs and brisket. They serve up tender thick sliced brisket with perfectly seasoned bark. The ribs fall off the bone and the sausages are juicy. The atmosphere is fun. If youre only going to do BBQ once in Midland, this is the place to go. Highly recommended.

The peach cobbler and brisket beans stole the show as far as food. Everything I ordered was good and it was prepared by possibly the most beautiful woman in all of Midland.

When you enter, someone who works there will direct you to grab a tray with parchment paper. There you will be introduced to a lady or gentleman who will ask what cuts of meat you would like. It s priced by the pound so don t go over board. If your looking for flavor and a little heat. This will definitely be your go too place. I ll put it this way; If I lived here, this would definitely be my go to place for some BBQ with some family or friends. Brisket was so tender I could cut it with a fork, rib meat fell right off the bone and the spicy sausage I had was both juicy and flavorful. They had a wide verity of options to choose from but these were my 3 choices. We also had a side of brisket beans with our order which does cost extra. 3.50$ for a large or 1.79 for a small. Once your done paying you get to choose a table that suits you and your families space. They have an island in the middle where you get to pick your sauce, bread and some additional sides. There is a waiter who consistently checks on you and make sure your cup is always full which was great. As I stated, will you pay a lot? Yes, but will you get your worth? I certainly thought so. If your looking for cheap with no flavor. Try McDonald s or other fast food restaurants. If you want homemade, slow cooked and smoked meats. I encourage you to stop by.

I had a great experience. Brisket was smoked perfect, i got a tray of a little bit of everything just to taste. Entrance is on the side of the building, I walked in the exit. Pay by the pound of food on your tray. It is a little pricey, but I expect that being in Midland.

Stupid expensive. Brisket was dry and tough for my liking other than that the rest is pretty good. The jalapeño sausage . Everyone is really nice and are extremely helpful. Just be careful how much meat u stack on because it adds up extremely fast. 100$ for 2 people fast.

I come to Midland on business once a month, and every time I eat at KDs. It always feels and tastes like the first time. Ive been in love with your barbecue and atmosphere for two years.

First off this place is definitely overpriced for that fact that a MOUSE ran right by us when we were eating. Lost our appetite right away and walked out. Will not be retuning

Great BBQ

This was one of the worst barbecue I have ever tried, the smoked meats were absolutely disgusting. My wife and I only could stand one bite and we had to spit it out. The only thing we could stomach to eat was the corn on the cob and the baked potato. Way overpriced for barbecue, $79 for 2 was ridiculous! It may have been just a fluke, but I m not willing to pay that kind of money to try it again!!!

Very popular BBQ place in Midland. BBQ is priced per half pound buy sides drinks and condiments are included. Some BBQ was great, except chicken breast that was extremely dry. If you dont watch it, it gets quite expensive.

Was told this place was good but pricey, decided to try it anyways since I ve been craving bbq. Driest brisket I have ever ate. Ribs i don t know how to describe them. But the point is I will not spend another dollar here, definitely not worth the cost even at half price.

Tonight, we drove a little further from the rv park we are staying at. Just to try this barbecue food. I would have to say it was well worth the drive. It was truly delicious. Well- I was really hungry for ribs and I come from a bbq family! The pork ribs were pressure cooked with no smoke taste. Beans were dry and not taken care of. The ribs cost $7. A piece!! No taste. Walking in takes you back in time a little. Cozy atmosphere with lots to look at. Enter and met by someone who serves you the meat portion of your choice. Meat is sold by the pound so you get what you want. Brisket was tender and juicy, hotlink was full of flavor. Sides - beans were fantastic potatoes sald - great taste. I didnt get desert but it looked delicious. For the price you get what you pay for. Highly recommend.

THE LADIES WAS VERY NICES BUT THE OLDER MAN THAT USUALLY CUT THE MEATS GAVE ME A VERY EVIL STAIRS DOWN FOR APROXIMATELY MORE THAN ONE MINUTES & EYES BALLS AT ME. I DIDNT APPRECIATED THIS AT ALL, THIS MAN WAS ALSO RUDE TO ME WHEN, HE CUT THE MEATS FOR ME LAST TWO MONTHS AGO WHEN I VISITED KDS. I WANTED TO MENTIONED THIS TO THE OWNER OF KDS BECAUSE IVE BEEN EATINGS KDS SINCE 2010 AND I NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS BEFORED

Everyone raves about this place so i checked it out. I wanted to like it. But thats not good barbecue. I spent 30 bucks on a plate of food and walked out the door 2 minutes after sitting down. Leaving 30 bucks worth of food sitting on the table. But the staff was friendly.

Walking in took me back to good old fashion barn style dining. The hospitality was great. When it came to the food uhhh not to write to write mamma about. The ribs were bland an cold no taste. The barbecue was probably made in the oven with no spicing, the pinto beans were not tasty, also potato salad was too runny. I call it the way I see and taste it. Again atmosphere great. Food not great. Price overly charged.

My order and feedback for each item: 1.) Brisket- super fatty, bland flavor 2.) Jalapeño sausage- cold and greasy, not spicy 3.) Ribs- Lukewarm, lots of fat, little flavor 4.) Coleslaw- decent 5.) Beans-the only thing that was remotely flavorful Staff was friendly but the food was below average .

KDs was great. Delicious food. Cold beer and wonderful staff. Was there with a group of veterans being hosted by the organization Reel Thanx and everything was just wonderful. Thanks to the owners for being such gracious hosts. Ive been driving by this place for 18 years and never realized what I was missing. Check it out.

Went here for my 41st birthday, and was expecting top notch BBQ. What I got was mediocre at best. For $21 a pound, I really expect every piece of meat to be cooked properly. The brisket while having a decent smoked taste, was extremely dry. The ribs were the same way. Good taste but dry. The sausage was probably the best part of the meal. Ive had worse, but Ive also had much much better.

I would like to recommend this place because the food is not bad, and the people were friendly, but... The price. Wow. I had half a slab of ribs, beans, and potato salad. Not even a drink. 40 bucks. The ribs were good, meaty, and tender although slightly overcooked which made the heel kind of tough. The flavor was very good. The brisket beans were delicious and I recommend them if youre going to eat here despite the price. The potato salad was not very good. About like you would get from pre-made at the grocery store. For the price, which is probably the most expensive BBQ Ive ever eaten, I expect the barbecue to be the best. It was good, but far from the best.

Recommend the chicken and kid beans with brisket mixed in it. Brisket of course is a must.

Its 21.00 a lb no matter what you get. Not bad for brisket, but for turkey and sausage its just not worth it. The brisket was good, but not worth the best in Midland reputation.

Wow this place is the second best BBQ I have had. I travel the nation and eat everywhere. The spicy BBQ sauce is a 5* for me. The brisket is definitely in the top 2 for me. BBQ Beans is top 5 for me. I will definitely be back as many times as I can. $58 including tip but I still have left overs for work the next day.

Must stop!! Every time I come out to Texas I make sure to stop (hungry or not)...I make room for Kd s BBQ ..meat that just falls off the bone on ribs and peach cobbler with ice cream well need say no more .... and Yes service is magnificent with great setting

Came with my husband and our son, my son got a small slice of ham no sides&a drink,I got chopped brisket (equivalent to a sandwich size) 2 small sides& a drink. My husband got 2 meats ,2 large sides and a drink- it was $70 the meat was good but honestly for the price I feel ripped off!!! So the meats all together was around $40 but the sides and drinks are too expensive and not all that great! Wish they had more side dish options, we left disappointed , while it was busy-I expected so much better,wont be back,not worth it. Side note/the dine in atmosphere was very cool

Portions of meat are priced $10.60 a pound nice variety of meat choices then side of cherry or peach cobbler and Cole slaw or potato salad and drink are charged then to go to table you can get two different styles of beans salsa barbque sauce and rolls. I was very surprised at the quality of the brisket and kielbasa Very good flavor very tender ribs could have had a bit more meat on them skimpy compared to rest of the meats but flavor was good on the small amount of meat on the bone. I WILL BE BACK AGAIN. IT WAS VERY DELICIOUS!! The Service was better than most Resturaunts you go to today.

This is a hole in the wall joint so you know it has good food, but it was much better than I expected. The meats had that slow smoked flavor, the brisket was super tender and the sausages were good. The ribs today lacked that great taste that was expected though.

OMGoodness!!!!!!!!!! I visited KDs BBQ while I was traveling for work. I LOVE BBQ and very picky about bbq.... this was some of the best BBQ Ive ever tasted. The pinto beans were so goooood and so was the potato salad. SO DELICIOUS

Where to start I love Texas BBQ. Was in the area for a flight. Decided to stop with my kiddo. They showed Brisket and ribs dinner on the online menu. Once I was there that was not an option. Had to order by the cut. There is a string language barrier. Mostly pointing. Pressed forward and ordered a slice brisket and 3 ribs. My kid did the same brisket 2 ribs plus a sausage. With beans a s coleslaw my total was $86. The brisket was fine. Nothing spectacular something I would expect at like Dickeys (re heated). The ribs were not eatable. I had to use my pocket knife to cut the meat off. The beans were lackluster/ just beans. Coleslaw was fine reminded me of KFC style. BBQ sauce was probably homemade as I had not tasted anything similar I attempted to tell the waitress about the ribs. Again language barrier. I love to pay good money for good bbq. I wish I would have gotten a bbq sandwich from McDonald s!

I was lucky to drive by this place for work on the road. Came back to it and was not disappointed. Interesting way you come in get your food cut it up or to go can you pick up some soda and vittles on the side. Decided to get some pulled pork sandwiches and a little bit of brisket and links eight time took some with me. I was very impressed with this barbecue place been around for 25 years. Found out it was also before a ice box store and a grain feed plus it sold fireplaces I believe. Thing that caught my attention was that big old windmill hanging up over the biggest room. On and run by a local family and love all the old timey decorations. Its barbecue and its going to be somewhat pricey but hey youll pay anything for good tasty food. If you drive by hangry just the place to get your grub on and get your toes twinkling lol. Parking: This place looks like it can get full really fast so I can imagine parking will fill up quick but there seems to be more on the other side of the fence to park open space. Kid-friendliness: Yes it is. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp especially built for handicap
