Ordered 3 sliced brisket sandwhich, 1 for my customer and 2 for me, they were N A S T Y, full of fat, some brisket but the amount of Fat was crazy, like a Lard sandwhich, couldnt finish them off total trash! on a postive note service was great, I have been to this location before, it won me over the first time, this time not so much. if you make it to the FM 242 location in Conroe Tx, they rock it.

True BBQ - Midland,Tx True has some of the best smoked brisket in West Texas. Id put True BBQ up against any of the stand alone BBQ joints in town. One of the most delicious places to eat in town! 5 stars!

When I arrived to the restaurant I showed them my receipt for pick up and for what ever reason they couldn t find it. I was first in line yet the cashier told me to wait until the person behind me ordered their food. After maybe 5 minutes I asked what about my order, yet none of the workers could speak English and finally I got my food. When I was walking away the same workers started speaking English so what was that about?? By the time I got my food it was all cold and I was missing my extra bread and sauces that I ordered. The restaurant has been going downhill since the last couple of times I have went.

Ordered delivery with Favor because no vehicle. Missing collard greens and BBQ sauce. We had to make our own BBQ sauce. Called store and took what seemed like forever to get through to them. When they finally answered the phone, they wanted us to come into store to get missing items. They sausage is also so tough that my 13 year old nephew cant even chew it. Dont get me wrong here, I am very grateful and very Blessed to be able to eat a big meal.

Probably the absolute worst Texas BBQ I have ever had. I give it two stars only because it was close to quitting time so I give the cooks the benefit of the doubt. Plus, the sweet tea was made with Midland faucet water. If you are from Midland you understand what I mean.

This place has gone down hill big time. Worked in Midland in 2019 and 2020 and this was one of my favorite spots. Brisker use to be great, and sides were on point too. Came back for work today and was excited to go back to this place. Man was it terrible. Brisket was cold and dry, cornbread has completely changed and was dry and nasty. Service was slow and one big lady with a bonnet and a mask just mean mugged me and my son the whole time we were getting drinks. Not to mention the soda machine was down, and they messed up our order. Completely mismanaged. Absolute garbage, won t be back.

Come here about 3 times a week because I like meat lol. But wont be coming back for a while. Seems to be a change in management or something. They serve burnt cornbread and there brisket is not as good as it used to be .Also need to fix there drink machines- no soda and the lemonade/tea is watered down.

Update after 5 years: Still amazing and one of the redeeming qualities of Midland. Original review: Yup, amazing how much decent BBQ you get for that money. Cant wait to stop by here again.

I paid $40 dollars for my order and only got the turkey breast. Missing the 2 texas torpedoes, the beans, bbq sauce, pickles and onions.

Food is delicious

I usually eat here when I shop at H E B and usually good. I ate here 5-8-24 and was worse I ever had here. 1. The lady taking orders acted like she would rather be anyplace but there. 2. She got my name wrong so my order sat there until it was cold because they were calling a name not even close to mine. I ordered the same thing I always get fatty brisket, collard greens and Mac n cheese. How does fatty brisket get so dry. It looked like they gave me dry brisket and threw a chunk of fat on top. Collard greens were only thing good. Mac n cheese was not as good as in past. will be awhile before I eat there again. They only have tea and lemonade to drink again been like that last several times I have eaten there not even water. Was thinking I should have went to dickies bbq or got a hot dog at Sam s club. now that s bad

I ordered sliced brisket, according to the menu, it s served with pickles,onions & bread, the lady that took my order asked if I wanted it, I said yes. I get home & have none of the 3. Very aggravating, it comes with it, then put it in there!!

Im not a bbq expert but it was pretty good and since its in a HEB market I was able to do some shopping after.

Bad service

Went to pick up curbside order and couldnt find the designated parking spaces so asked a curbside grocery employee and they said Yeah, you have to go inside to get it. So had to go find a normal parking spot and go inside to pickup. Food is good, but the curbside doesnt appear to exist.

Great BBQ but if you order to go, ask about sauce. They don t mention it and when your tired and get home, you find out you you have this incredible BBQ but NO SAUCE.

I was honestly a little disappointed. We got our food pretty quickly, but I had much higher hopes than what we got. We ordered two lean brisket sandwiches and a smoked turkey sandwich. They were out of cornbread and mac and cheese, which is what we had originally wanted. We got the sandwiches and discovered a rather large amount of fat in the lean brisket. The flavor was almost nonexistent as well. The turkey was dry, as if it had been sitting awhile. The workers were nice enough, but I dont see us coming back. Its disappointing because I really love BBQ and was hoping to get some good eats.

Had the two meat plate -brisket x2- with beans and greens wow! It says Texas BBQ, but I give it the Kansas City BBQ vote of approval. Portions, quality and value are great. Both sauces delicious- one with tang or the KC style with a touch of sweet. Highly recommended, and I will go back. Bring your appetite!

It is just an okay place to have BBQ. I was expecting more. It is convenient as it is inside HEB.

The barbecue was great but the counter service was excruciatingly slow. Kid-friendliness: Not really. Most kids would freak out at the wait.

Brisket was moist and had good bark the burnt ends were a lil too sweet but in all was great !!!

Pulled pork and collard greens were great, as were the staff. Sauces were not well stocked, but they were dealing with a leak around that area so not such a big deal. Food here is at least as good as Rudys. Better than some of our local BBQ places.

Took forever to get me up to register prolly slow on workers and all yet had no ribs and there meat count for price seems kinda slim for the price feel kike getting dopephiened out on a plate yet most Def aint true tx bbq tell ya that much

Slow service, beer poured with half of it being foam, forgot 30% of our food, asked three times for our missing items and gave up and left. Food tastes decent, or else I d give it one star.

OMG

I ordered a two meat plate, ribs turkey with mac n cheese and cornbread. I also ordered a brisket potato on the side and extra bbq sauce. Well they charged for the potatoe and did not give me the potatoe with brisket, gave us zero bbq sauces, cornbread tasted like it was made two weeks ago. Turkey was dry I mean as dry as dirt, ribs were severely over cooked. Mac and cheese tasted bland, I didn t even think that was possible. For a $30 plate I should get what I pay for but nope. I highly do not recommend this place. Worse bbq in Texas hands down.

Well this what I get, whoever said this the best bbq lied. My ribs were hard to eat, burnt ends not burnt and hard to eat, Mac and cheese wasn t mackin at all, bbq beans were gross as well, like I didn t even eat my 30$ meal at all

The food was the best I have had in a very long time. I had been craving some bbq for a while and im so glad I decided to order from this place. The ribs were juicy, tender and meaty. The turkey is tender and yummy. And the chopped brisket is just delicious. For the sides I got their Mac n cheese and the beans. Ever was so good. I would definitely recommend this bbq place to everyone. Great job y all.

We got their BBQ last night for dinner and it was really good. I had the ribs and my husband had the chicken. Their barbecue sauce was really good. The whole meal was great. Definitely go back there again.

When I have to recommend a BBQ place in Midland, this is it. Yes, it s not as home style as KD s, but it is pretty close for less than half the price. The meat quality is great, and their bbq sauce (regular and spicy) are delicious. Each side I ve had was fresh and just the right size. Definitely give H-E-B s bbq a try!

Came here on a Wednesday around 1pm, it wasnt too crowded for a lunch crowd. We ordered an el jefe, which was HUGE. I could only finish maybe 1/4 of it. We also shared a 3 meat platter of chopped brisket, ribs and sausage, with a side of brisket beans and collard greens. All with a drink for under $50. Pretty good, Id def return.

Better than KC BBQ and half the price!

We had turkey, brisket and chicken. Was well worth it. We also had the loaded cornbread that was very interesting and good. We got our barbecue fix and were not disappointed. The meat had a very nice smoked flavor.

The food is ok at best definitely not worth the price. Ordered in the app and before I got there they called to inform me they didn t have the brisket I ordered and I could have pork in its place. That would have been fine except the price difference. Since I had already paid for it all they could do is keep my food and money and I would have to bring proof of the purchase and I could get my food tomorrow. How they would even think it would be ok is beyond me. Well the should be able to afford losing this customer since this isn t the first time but definitely the last.

Ordered loaded cornbread with brisket. Had less than an ounce of meat on the cornbread. For 10.50 I expected at least a quarter pound of meat. Very disappointed.

Got the BBQ Brisket Nachos because they were SOLD OUT all the chicken, ribs, ribs tips, collard greens & mac n cheese. They said it came with pico de gallo but I dont see nor taste any. But theyre good nonetheless and filling.

Ordered a chopped brisket sandwich with a side salad, unfortunately the salad had moldy cucumbers..Gross. The BBQ on the other hand was flavorful (and mold free) and the portion was just right. Definitely wont be ordering another salad.

Employee was confused when taking our order. He then argued with me when I told him how he got the order wrong. He was very rude and food was not good.

Ribs and chicken are fire, brisket isnt so hot. Beer selection is slim but tasty.

The best!

Ordered a rib plate and a chop brisket sandwich. Presentation of the food was good. The place is well kept and clean. The staff was prompt and helpful. The ribs are not fall off the bone and the flavor was nothing to write home about. Chop brisket sandwich was decent. Overall, not a bad place to stop if it s convenient but don t go out of your way to get the food.

I m from Memphis, the BBQ capital of the world. I thought the food was great, however, the ribs weren t as tender as I had imagined. I ordered the sampler, everything else outside of the ribs was very good. Also, they give you a lot of food.

Food is good, but fairly overpriced. Service is horrible. No urgency to get orders out. Usually have to wait around an hour for food. Whole attraction of a grocery store BBQ place is that it will be something quick for dinner. This place is anything but quck.

I got the three meat plate. (Sliced Brisket, Turkey, and Ribs) Everything was okay, the turkey was great. The Mac&Cheese was kinda bland and the brisket beans were decent. Nothing stood out to me as amazing but if you want Texas BBQ and have never had it not a place to give it a try.

Best brisket in Midland

I gave it a one star because I can t go any lower. This place is filthy. There is no utensils. The soft drink machine is all carbonated water. They don t even have any bbq sauce either. I asked for lean brisket and they gave me the worst brisket ever. It had so much fat in it. No one has bothered to try and clean. It was the worst experience ever.

Need some emergency Q in the hood? Its more than just ok for grocery store bbq. Great sauces too. Feeling spicy? Feeling sweet? Theyve got both!

I ordered their turkey sandwich and let me say I was really shocked. I was expecting it to be slightly dry as that has been my past experiences with other BBQ joints. I was really shocked how juicy their turkey was. In fact I ordered a pound to go and thats what I ate for lunch the following day and it was still just as good as it was the first. If you like turkey then I recommend giving it try!

Best BBQ in Texas!!

The BBQ tastes great, but dont get the lean brisket or it will be too dry. Also, the wait times can be pretty bad. I came at 3pm on a Sunday and waited half an hour for a pound of brisket and a mac n cheese.

Was hoping to try True Texas BBQ, but they said they don t accept call ahead orders over the phone (like a normal to-go order), and she told me to use Favor for delivery. Such a bummer because I was getting my curbside groceries and was hoping to snag dinner easily. Really inconvenient.

Grocery Store Texas style BBQ. Now HEB knows how to do prepared food well and this eatery is no exception. Friendly front staff and food tasted great. Especially like the side orders of coleslaw and beans. Skip the fruit cobbler since most of the dish is white bread. Would have given higher score but took 22 minutes to assemble a simple order.

Ordered a slice brisket sandwich and peach cobbler. The cobbler was absolutely delicious. But, the brisket sandwich was fatty and gristley. It was simply awful. After 2 bites, I threw the rest away. I dont recommend True Texas BBQ at HEB Midland, at all.

I used to love this place! It really was a hidden gem. For about the past year this place has had some issues. A lot of the times the orders have been wrong, completely forgetting an entire plate. Of course this isn t realized until after arriving home. They also tend to forget the little things like bread, onion and pickles. I ve seen where the soda fountain is out of order and canned drinks are served. One thing I have noticed is that the plates have been downsized. McDonalds may get away with this, but not real BBQ. Communication/ comprehension could be better too. I m very disappointed because it s so close to home. I have given it multiple chances but it s just not working out anymore.

I have been an H-E-B fanboy since I got to Texas, and this was my first time trying True Texas BBQ. I didn t know my H E B experience could be elevated even more, but this bbq brought it home. The bbq sandwiches are inexpensive but really tasty and filling, the brisket chili was a warm hug of meat in this cold weather, and the Mac and cheese side battled for star of the show. You ll have a truly great time at True Texas BBQ.

Second time here (inside HEB) for BBQ. Great taste, great flavor and good portions. Id definitely recommend. Ill be back, next time in town.
