Food was some what good but half the hot chicken trays were empty then we sat 30 minutes to wait to get checked out while the servers gave us our bill five minutes into eating. Save your time and money go somewhere else because this place is a joke

All the fried items tasted like fried fish.

There was a huge spider and web in the womens bathroom, the food was cold, most of the selections were empty and never refilled, people were rude

After coming here since since this place opened... I will never be back. It was horrible! Cold food, sitting out for hours, no real selection anymore and they were incredibly rude about it. Highest prices ever more than $30 for two people to have terrible food.

This is a Wonderful Buffet for Dinner, so many choices for the entrees and dont forget the soft serve Ice Cream before you over eat.. lol-- price is 14.49$ per person, and Soda Pop is additional 2$ person. I suggest Water.

Imma start this off by says I did write a one star review about 2 months ago, I went back three times and each time it has gotten ssoooo much better and so YYUUMMYY. I WAS SHOCKED they must of gotten some new chefs with some fire under them because the Mongolian chicken...fiirree, it wass so good right along with the crabragoons, they were actually FILLED everything was kick aasss, the sushi my boyfriend looveed right along with the teriyaki chicken, check them back out, its worth another shot!

After seeing a mix of one-star reviews and five star reviews I can with complete confidence say depending on what time you come here will depend on how warm the food is if you come in the middle of a rush the busiest times there will be fresh food if you will come just 5 minutes after the rush the food will be cold, after the lunch rush is over they dont add food until the dinner rush unless they absolutely have to the food just sits there well past the amount of time it is supposed to they are not following food safety procedures they are not following health code regulations these are big problems. I will not be going again if you cannot maintain A. minimum quality in your food then I will not a waste my money going there and B. I will definitely never recommendyou Parking: It isnt a little strip mall there are very very few parking spots compared to the amount of businesses that are here so if you are coming during a rush you need to make sure that you get here with enough time to find a place to park

You go to Golden Buffet for Golden Buffet; not for authentic or extravagant Chinese cuisine. It may not have much as atmosphere goes, and the charge for a drink may be a bit too much, but this place has been a guilty pleasure of mine for the last decade and a half.

Chinese food standards have lowered lately. The sushi tasted old like it was in the fridge for a few days. And the seafood salad bar was just old. I dont think anyone was eat it. Outside store you would think their not open. Trust your first instincts. First time trying this place and girl was nice but not overly social. Inside of restaurant looks so depressing and sad. The food is good and the adult prices arent terrible. However the price for a two year old is ridiculous. On top of that the lady is very rude. She legitimately pushed me out of the way to reach across our table to grab dirty plates. She never came back to our table but continued to give us dirty looks from across the restaurant. I got delivery so not sure what its like IN the restaurant, but I thought the food was good! Cheaper than others in the area and it was also more flavorful than the others too. Probably wont eat in person as Im not a Buffett kind of person.

We arrived at 630 for the dinner buffet. Family of 5. It looked like the dinner buffet was left over from lunch. Everything was extremely dried out or just empty pans. Staff didnt speak to us other than taking the drink order and placing the check. We asked for some meat options as they were mostly empty or too dry looking and the staff brought out sweet and sour chicken only. Very unimpressed and still starving when we left.

Not bad. Everything was good, in my opinion. It was OK. At least it was hot, but I got there an hour before closing.

So disappointed- This used to be one of my favorite places to eat and takeout. I went in for lunch takeout- and when i went to pay the person at the counter was speaking on her cell phone, speaker on and talking loudly with whomever was on the line. I received no greeting and not thank you. I guess most importantly, the food, bad. I would think twice about coming here and I will not frequent this establishment again. Not very good. I had high expectations from the reviews I read. Food wasnt very fresh. The sushi looked shady and tasted about the same shade of ick. Not to my liking or standards, but then again money is hard to come by and even harder to spend on food that was not tasty at all. How long does it take to develop a 1/4 inch skin on top of the hot and sour soup? I politely left it in the pot. The hot tea was excellent!

Absolutely without a doubt, the worst place I have ever eaten. 33 dollars for two people. The meats dont even taste natural. And the desert tastes like plastic. Please if you are looking for Chinese food go to pis or China palace. Disgusting atmosphere with servers who ignore you.

sushi tasted like only rice, hardly put any food out, was drinking water and theres was something brown all stuck to bottom of glass, looked like instant tea, only one beef dish , all chicken, breaded chicken all u tasted was a thick breading, recession era dishes maybe? Awesome place to dine in, you can get good tea and a lot of different foods off the buffet, including vegetarian options. The takeout is just as good, but you have to know what to order. The eggplant is really good and so is the fish off the buffet. I go all the time and am never disappointed.

Came in because we were in Midland and I really really wanted Chinese buffet! Was very skeptical because of previous reviews. Food was so so good! The service was great, not talkative but did their jobs and kept the table clean. Everything was clean and fresh. Very glad we took the risk!

Explain to me how you could have a resturaunt and not have food. There was barely anything on the buffet and what was there was nasty. Watery flavors and cold food. When i let the waiter know about it he laughed in my face. The cold waters we asked for on this hot day were warm like they were in the sun. Even the supposed to be cold food was warm. And when i went to leave one of the crew tried to have our bill cut down for the 3 mins we were in there but the lady behind the counter didnt want too. I ended up paying more than i deserved to pay. The last thing i have to say is evem though im white doesnt mean i dont have the knowledge of what is being said in a different language. I ask that you learn to understand i dont appreiate the rude things you say behind peoples backs. Anf until i can find the proof that you havr chamged i will never eat there again.

I would rather talk to the snake in the garden of eden than eat there. Everything is bland, under cooked and flat out watery. Im 7 months pregnant and I couldnt eat a darn thing there but jello. First time...and it for sure, is going to be my LAST!!! I did not know that if you come to eat at 2:45...you will be scraping the dried up bottom of the pans leftover from lunch and that NOTHING fresh would be put out for you. At 3:01 fresh food was coming out so I went to grab a couple shrimp, just so I could have one thing fresh before leaving. The owner comes over as I was reaching out to scoop up 2 shrimp, and she tells me NO...NO YOU CANNOT!!! YOU PAY ALREADY!!! Im standing there very confused at what was going on. Yes...my husband was finished before me and had already gone up to pay. I had no idea that at 3:00 is when they start charging for dinner. So I guess if you come to eat at 2:45 like we did...you still pay the FULL LUNCH PRICE EVEN THOUGH NOT ONE FRESH THING was put out while you were there. She just stood there yelling at me in her language. I felt like an idiot. Good grief, what was I gonna eat...a dollars worth of fresh food? HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE...WE WILL NEVER EVER RETURN. I m so disappointed. A big difference in 3 years. One of the reasons I ve always enjoyed Chinese cooking is the honor and pride they passed on to their food. This place is sad and disgraceful. I m quite certain most of their food is frozen and they have become so Americanized that their service and food are no longer special. It s like the other buffet just before they shut down. Yep very sad.

Most of the food was room temperature or cold. They didnt come back to the table to see if we needed anything. The egg rolls had a weird taste. The peanut chicken was actually good but cold . Its not what it used to be. We gave this place three chances b4 this review. We went at 530pm on a Tuesday. Dinner time, should be fresh it was burnt left overs. So burnt were sure its from lunch. The few things we ate, ran out, we were there 45 mins and they never restocked. In total we ate maybe 2 kids plates worth for 4 adults. And were charged over $55.00 they didnt say or do anything. Theyve gone down hill since 2008, same your time and money.

So I read the reviews of this place and not being from the area I figured I d give it a shot. Boy was that a mistake. I went around 2:15pm and sat down. Looking at the buffet from a distance you see the steam rise as if you re in a sauna. Don t be fooled; It is anything but remotely warm. Figure giving things a mix with the juices they ve been sitting in for the last hour or so would help, but it did nothing. Tried peanut butter chicken to be disappointed by the plain flavor and lack of heat. Texture was stiff with the hard glaze on the outside. Mongolian beef was spongy and cold. Taste was decent, but lack of heat and waterlogged spongy texture leaves room for improvement. An occasional stir of buffet items might help and maybe a digital thermometer would improve the scope of the Golden Buffet. It s an easy pass if you re smart. If you like to live like Rambo and I mean dangerously, then give it a chance.

Got there just as they opened. Greeted with a friendly hello. Big plus. The buffet wasnt fully set up yet so I passed and ordered to go. I got the lunch special, dumplings and egg rolls. The best dumplings ever! I highly recommend them. For the special, I got Gen.chicken w/pork fried rice. The container was sooo jammed packed it almost spilled out. Very very tasty. Yummy in my tummy goodness.

Today the food was really good the people was nice..everything was alot better than it was a year ago.the only thing that was bad was the bathroom. The bathrooms was nasty you better off waiting and go somewhere else to use the bathroom. But other than that it was really good food.

Really tasty sushi

Golden Buffet is our go to in our hometown for fast chinese. They always have a decent variety and the BEST coconut shrimp. The staff always walk around to clear your plates in a timely fashion and make sure you always have a drink. If you dont want to stay and eat they also have a takeout option.

There is two toilets in the womens bathroom dirty and the floor was dirty has wall has the bathroom floor and they put used chopsticks in with the new ones and used silverware that wasnt used back with the clean ones

They barely even refill their buffet. Also the waitress/cashier was rude & ignored me when I was talking to her. Their food must be loaded with MSG

When we got there, there were 4 people there. We got seated and got up to get food. There was maybe 40 different trays of food and 25 of those were empty and the other were so pick over there very little to choose from could not even get a refill of our drinks it was differently not worth the price we pay. Used to go here a lot... No more. It is a health scare waiting to happen. They raised their prices for even worse fake Chinese food. For example, the Lo Mein is spaghetti noodles with a few bits of cabbage. The walls are disgusting behind the sushi station. Even the sink is being held together by string. They just buy their food at Gordon Food Service and throw it in the pans. Disgusting place that the Midland Health Department needs to visit and shut it down.

I got the buffet to go. The food was decent for a buffet, got their around 11:30am just after opening, that probably helped vs. people who go at 2pm and have had the food sitting out for who knows how long (typical at any buffet). My gripe is what they charge for a take out buffet. Most places charge by the carton, they charge by the weight. I thought OK? I brought what was a pretty good sized portion, but the price came to $18!!! If I would have just ate it there (where its all you can eat) I could have eaten more food, and even with the tip figured in, paid about half as much. If you guys are going to charge by the weight, you need to seriously look at what you are charging. It is waaay overpriced.

Food is good when it s FRESH which every time I ve been there it was not. Like someone else said don t let the steam fool you the food is barely warm. It seems like all they want is your money and do not care about your experience or the quality of food at all. I went in there with my three year old and informed the woman upfront he was not eating. When we left she still charged me as an adult for him.

I dont know why my sister drags me to this place, nor why I agree to go, but I never enjoy it. The prices are insane. $6.25 for a bowl of egg drop soup?? Is it flaked with gold? No, just generic soup. Then we got charged $11.00 for my 3 year old niece to eat a dinner roll. We were told when seated that under 4 years old is free. When I asked about it, the Server told me we should have ordered off the menu for her. No, we should have went somewhere else.

When the one lady works the counter I have to ask for a bag and fork. She is always rude and never offers me a cookie. They use to do all these things without me asking. Not going back as the food has gone downhill too.

Just wanted to post this incase the owner/manager ever looks at the reviews. I am moving across the street soon and was happy to see a buffet nearby as I like Chinese Buffet, at least once a week but after reading most of the reviews I likely wont even try it out. What a wasted opportunity. Money is earned not expected. Good food and cleanliness is paramount in the restaurant business, always has been always will be.

I was pretty surprised at how not so good the food was, and not surprised at all with the poor service. I will probably never be able to forget at least one thing on their menu, which I clearly can remember because its one of my favorite things to eat, Fried Rice. The vegetables in the fried rice were dreadful. Especially the peas. So in my opinion, dont waste your time or money. But eh, to each their own I guess.

We went there for many years like 15 yrs never problem at all i love there foods are very delicious, sushis are very awesome and soups are so yummy! A few waitresses know me i love hot tea.
