223 W Wall St, Midland, TX 79701, United States
Downtown Midland's fine dining restaurant featuring seasonal and local flavors, an extensive wine list, and signature cocktails.
You would think at a nice establishment such as this everything would be clean WRONG! The menus were dirty with stains on them as well as the silverware. We got our plates and there was cheese already on it as well as a glass cup with lipstick on it are you joking that is terrible. As well as the server was very bland like a robot showing no emotion.
Come on opal’s table. Learn how to have bartenders. They even admitted as servers making drinks that it’s better for them and worse for the customers. Great food, overpriced drinks, but service is always horrible. 4 people standing behind the bar but nobody will take care of you. Hire a damn bartender.
Food was fantastic! Service was impeccable. Liked the ambiance but we were seated right next to the bar downstairs in the basement and it made it impossible to hear my girlfriends while we were having our yearly catch up. This is not the place to go if you want a light, quieter atmosphere. It feels very trendy, loud, and dark. This place is perfect if this is the ambiance you want.
We celebrated our 15th anniversary dinner here, and Opals was awesome (as usual). Great wines, fine dining atmosphere, sprouts appetizer and steak was on point. Our server Sam was the coolest, never left us hanging and got us dessert to celebrate the milestone!
Having lived in Midland from 2010-2014, where there wasn’t much to offer. My daughter worked an internship and took me to Opal’s Table her last night. It’s great to see Midland thriving with new restaurants and bars. The atmosphere was modern with a touch of industrial. We downstairs at the bar. At first service was acceptable but then took a turn for the worst :( Food was great! Filled with great flavor and came out fast. Service continued to decline. When spending over $200 at a restaurant I expect to receive remarkable service. That's not the case at Opal's. Our bartender was never around and had to be flagged down for another drink. The most disappointing part is there were two other girls working behind the bar who lacked team work. We ask one of the other girls for a drink. She looked at us and walked away. If only these bartenders knew that they would make more money working as a team. Had we received good service, our bill would have been much higher 😬. Overall, great restaurant and great location. Maybe service will improve overtime. I’ll always tip appropriately to service.
Very nice place to go for a special occasion or if your company is picking up the tab. The atmosphere was great and we had the upstairs area pretty much to ourselves. Brussel sprouts were awesome and had sweet flavor to them that was very unique. The chicken plate with the sundried tomato sauce was the table favorite. Salads had an excellent dressing pairing to the pickled okra. The steaks were pretty terrible so I would avoid them. Medium rare steak looked close to being charcoal. Lol. The Lobster tail was overcooked and kinda sickly looking.
Made a reservation online, got seated right away. Ordered pork belly for an appetizer and chicken fried steak for entree. Was absolutely delicious and flavorful. My husband ordered the prime rib, which was cooked perfectly and tender. Will for sure go back! Waitress was polite and gave very good service.
Surpassed all of my expectations!!!! ONE THING FIRST- I could eat their wedge salad every day. Best I’ve ever had. Great food. We took a large group and had like everything on the menu. Everyone said it was incredible! This is a top five west Texas restaurant!!! Steaks and Tuna.. OH MY
The dinner was delicious and our waiter was amazing 20/10
I wanted to book a room at Opals Table for my birthday. There are 11 of us and we totally expected to spend between $1200 and $1500. My wife calls to make a reservation and was told that we needed to put down a $500 deposit and spend a minimum of $2000. What???? Do you have a Michelin Star chef cooking for you? That is just outrageous. There is not a restaurant in West Texas that is worth that. We have never ate at Opals Table and was really excited about trying it, but not now. I guess your restaurant is too expensive for us. Thanks for letting us know before we tried to come in there and give you some business. Keep that in mind when you are closing down in a couple of years, how many customers you ran off and all of the money you lost because of it. I guarantee we wont ever eat there now.
We had a couples night with some other couples and decided to come here. It was our first time here and it was a good experience. The food was good, our waiter Julio was awesome and attentive. The atmosphere was nice and relaxing. We will definitely be back again now that I know this spot is here. :)
Great Steak with Chimi.
Opals Table is my favorite restaurant! I love their Chicken fried Steak! If I had enough money Id eat there every time I could!
Food was way too salty, basement vibe was way off, too much light and terrible tables and seating right behind the people sitting at the bar, one bar guest had his butt crack out facing everyone s table, way overrated place
Waited a bit to get the hostesses to seat us for our reservation. Our waitress was fantastic and had great recommendations. Atmosphere is urban chic and cute. Ribeye had an amazing salty crust and was flavorful. Perfectly cooked and charred. Lobster add on was pretty small but tasty. The mashed potatoes did taste a little like instant mashed potatoes to me. But the juices from the steak covered that taste a lot. Beignets dessert was amazing. Mock-tail drinks were so refreshing and very aesthetic.
The food is mediocre, very bland in taste, and overpriced. Expect to pay ridiculous prices. The atmosphere is quite chill. Wasn t impressed, there are other restaurants in town to eat at for the same price with better tasting food, drinks and atmosphere.
Great downtown restaurant, we had the wedge salad, chicken fried streak and scallops and it was great.
Out of mashed potatoes at 8:30pm. Extremely loud environment. This is not a good place to carry on a conversation at your table.
My husband made reservations for 7pm on Tuesday for our anniversary. We arrived at 6:55pm and were seated by 7:05pm. From that point on, nobody ever even acknowledged we were there. After 30 minutes, my husband told the front hostess. She apologized, gave us water, and said she told the waitress. Still, nothing. After another 15 minutes, we decided to leave. We told the hostess on the way out and she quickly said sorry again and went back to her duties. We went down the street and were served promptly.
Over priced-had reservations for basement they said it was full when we got there-got my order wrong. Steak was cooked really well tho
Opals probably has the best steak in town. Either Ribeye or Filet with truffle butter. Everything Ive had is wonderful. Id fully give it 5 stars on food but at dinner time. The main floor and basement are so loud that you can barely communicate with the people at your table. I love the food but I will only eat here before dinner rush as I am to ADHD for all the noise.
I ate here again this week, and absolutely love it. Their menus are always delicious and have a variety for all tastes. Their appetizers are amazing, the dishes were perfect, and the desserts finished the night off well. The ability to make reservations helps when seating can be hard to find at local good restaurants. The service was amazing.
I ve been wanting to try this restaurant ever since I ve moved here 5 years ago. I ve heard nothing but positive recommendations about this restaurant. Tonight my family of 7 came and pretty much ordered most of the menu. Unfortunately everything tasted . Fries and brussel sprouts were super oily. Pork was dry and salty. Salmon dry. Flavors of everything else we ordered was bland and underwhelming. Only thing I enjoyed was the customer service and the glazed pork belly. Super disappointed especially with all these raving reviews.
Wonderful service, even better food!!!! Absolutely will be back
I had a great time at Opals Table. The staff was friendly, the food was well-prepared and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. When I visited, I saw diners of all kinds - solo diners like myself, couples on dates, colleagues, families and groups. For my meal, I started with the pork belly appetizer which was absolutely delicious and I could have easily ordered a second plate. The entree I had was the pecan crusted chicken which was excellent, the textures and tastes were well balanced and the sauce added a great flavor. The only downside I found was that the drinks were a bit too strong, it felt more like mixed drinks than cocktails, I think the recipes or proportions need to be refined. But, its hard to find a good cocktail joint in Midland, if they fix this, Opals Table will be unbeatable. Despite this, Im happy I went and I would go back in a heartbeat, and next time Ill just stick to wine.
Not worth the money! Nothing special and the food was too oily or dry. Atmosphere was the only thing going for it.
A bright shining star in a desert of poor to mediocre coffee. Midland is not known for its food but Opal s is one exception. I have rested here three times and each time the service was excellent the food excellent. One could argue that Opals is on Par with some of the finest restaurants I have experienced. Try the coffee rubbed pork chop.
This place is amazing. The drinks are very well crafted, the steak was perfectly seasoned and grilled. The desserts were impeccable. The ambiance was fantastic. Everything about this place was above and beyond my expectations.
Great menu
Wish I wouldve taken photos of all the dishes but overall the food was okay. I ordered the crabcakes as an app and the 18oz steak for my entree. The steak came with cream potatoes which were too salty for my taste, and fresh green beans which were a little too scorched to eat. For dessert I had their version of beignets, they were pretty tough which is probably why they serve them with ice cream. Our server was an absolute delight and very kind. The atmosphere of the place was okay. I dont think its a place I would return to.
Really good food and fantastic atmosphere!
Managers name Julio? An old fashion with Buffalo trace $29.23. I ll never return to this establishment. What a rip off.
Really neat vibe. The ground floor dining room was crowded but decorated well. The basement level cocktail lounge was more spread out with a bar area and a section with sofas and chairs. The food was ok. Could have been a lot better for the price. I had the crab cakes which were mostly breading. The mac and cheese was bland and the sweet potato appetizers was just weird mix of sweet and savory but not in s good way.
The meal was fantastic, the appetizers left a lot to be desired.
First time trying this place...FINALLY! Well worth it on my first visit. I sat bar top and Gina made THE BEST COCKTAILS Ive had in Midland thus far. I tried the Curious Bird, a Moscow Mule, Raspberry Mojito, and the Jack Rabbit Slims. Gina, the bar tender, on this gorgeous Tuesday, made them SPOT ON! When my chicken fried steak showed up...well, it was too delicious LOOKING to stop for the pic. And the looks werent lying. Best Chicken Fry in West Texas....HANDS DOWN! Also had the Seared Tuna and O...M...G... that was fire! Definitely upscale. I was informed of a downstairs in the same building so you can choose if there is no private event going on. Enjoy this great place on any night of the week except Sundays.
Jaycee made our anniversary dinner special and memorable! My wife and I throughly enjoyed our meals and drinks. Jaycee provided excellent, professional, and friendly service!
Great food in the heart of midland
Good food. Attentive service.
Opals is one of my favorite spots!! I literally DREAM of the salmon and you have to order all the apps when you go. I want to come soon and try the caviar set up - excited that is finally offered here in Midland.
Small place but food and service was good.
Fantastic evening, Opals Table is definitely the best restaurant in midlands Texas, the service and attention from the moment we arrived was excellent, friendly and professional, haute cuisine in the broadest sense of the word, the salmon right at its cooking point, Exquisite, very beautifully decorated the dish, we were more than satisfied with the lamb, delicious juicy and succulent, cooked by and for the gods, the restaurant very well decorated and abundant atmosphere of harmony, I truly recommend it, we will return!
We were really looking forward to trying Opals table . It was highly recommended by friends. Unfortunately it did not live up to our expectations. The server was not friendly at all and when I asked a question about the menu she seemed annoyed. She wasnt very attentive even though the restaurant only had 2 more tables w customers. The steak was terrible!!! My husband didnt even eat it . The texture and flavor was not there . And we are not picky eaters . Drinks were ok.. nothing I would rave about . Cant say I would recommend this restaurant to anyone going to nor living in Midland Odessa area .
Always a great experience
This place is great, our waitress Samantha was attentive and took great care of us, food and drinks are phenomenal. Get what you pay for here.
EXCELLENT FLAVOR! I will definitely return
I was surprised ( even the staff) that they had 3 people eating inside the cigar smoking room, so I could not have my cigars and drinks there, after dinner,...not a good move! Ended up going to another place, 2 highend cigars, several drinks and dessert..$$$
Food was good. Atmosphere was nice worth the meal
Fine dining in Midland! Who knew?!
We showed up for our reservation and walked in and was stared at by the kitchen staff for several minutes before someone came out. I told him we had a table reserved he replied the hostess was downstairs and he would call her. After another 10-12 minutes we decided to go downstairs only to be told that the hostess was probably upstairs. It was 26 minutes past our reservation so we just left. Never have we been somewhere and made to feel like we didnt we couldnt afford to eat there!! We ended up at Cowboy Prime and got the treatment we thought we would have gotten here. If I could give it a negative I would.
Nice food
Great place, but food was not all that. Drinks were great.
Chicken fried steaks was a bit chewy great flavor though.
The service was meh, but Ill give the a pass since it was Friday night...however. $20 for a Manhattan is insane. This is Midland not a major city. Then your portions are tiny for the price, and you were sold out of desserts on a Friday night the server said you only prepped 2? I dont know what kind of joke this is but I was abysmally ripped off. Adding a 3% fee for credit card transactions is just adding insult to injury. At the end of the day I spent over $100 for 1 person and left hungry.
Fantastic place to dine, exceptional service and the best made drinks!
Very nice and elegant
Small but cozy. Food excellent altho martini glasses non standard.
This is definitely where my wife and I will spend everyone of our date nights at. If your going on a date in midland and dont want bad service, this place has great service and out of this world food.
Good food, good service and nice atmosphere
Well.. We wouldn t return, hear are the reasons:.. 1)We had high expectations and we knew our bill was going to be high, first we got received by a rude waiter assuming that we snucked in . we had a reservation and we been seated by the hostess, he could have checked with his hostess beforehand and not make us feel unwelcomed. 2)Then our food comes in.. 40 minutes later to find out that my steak was overcooked and one order was messed up, salmon and vegetable were dry, we will recommend the grits and shrimp which were excellent, cocktails too Too expensive at the end for mediocre food We had great company in our party so our experience was not bad overall
Pricey but who doesn t deserve a splurge or reward? Worth it for special occasions
Amazing Drinks and Food . Midland needs more gems like this !!!!!! Try the Pineapple Sour it s a great cocktail
Great lunch spot. Best BLT in town and the Truffle Fries are spectacular!
Went to this restaurant this evening 05-28-2022 close to 5pm from out of town passing through. They asked if I had a reservation, I said no can we sit at the bar the young girl said the bar didnt op en until 5:30pm and to wait across the hall outside the restaurant. I said but your website says your open at 4:30pm on Saturday. Young lady said no at 5:30pm. We left and to never return. Poor and terrible customer service.
This was a wonderful learning experience. Was my granddaughters 21st birthday. Our server Sophia was absolutely excellent in the food was beyond belief delicious. Highly recommend this place.
A little gem I didn t expect to find in Midland. Highly recommend!
Absolutely disappointing. We made a reservation and drove 45 minutes to eat here. We arrived 20 minutes before our reservation. We stood in the lobby for 10 minutes with no sign of a hostess. When one finally showed up, she told us she d have to get the table ready and then sat us in the lobby. FORTY MINUTES later, we gave up and left. Before we left, we tried to find the hostess or any waiter and saw no one, but the place was somehow packed. Long story short: they can take a reservation but they don t honor them. This was a huge waste of time and we won t be back.
Great food and great service! Sophia was so friendly and helpful! Filet, bacon wrapped shrimp, and wedge salad was great!
Service, Drinks, Food and Atmosphere was good. Seafood Linguine was very good, Spicy Salmon was good. Ceasars salad needs some work.
Not a very welcoming place but just thought staff was having a bad day; stuck us down in the basement since we didn t have a reservation. Ordered the salmon with veggies. Turned out salmon was excellent but veggies were burn to a carbon crisp. Asparagus was ok, okra was burn and not editable, and the brussel sprouts were uneditable because of charcoal build up in the mouth.
The staff was super, the food was excellent and served in a very nice atmosphere!
Parking: Had to park 3 blocks away.
Very nice food and atmosphere Parking: Might have to look around. Its downtown.
It was very good. Different. Lots of veggies. Good desserts. Good sauces.
Very nice, and they had Four Roses Single Barrel for my Old Fashioned!
Loved the atmosphere! Great service and food!
Friendly service. Good fresh food. Wonderful drinks. Will be back when I m in town.
We went here with our best friends for my birthday. Our reservation was for 5:30pm and thats when they open so they asked us to come back. So we awkwardly sat someone new the restaurant. However, the service and food was great. Everything tasted amazing. I got the salmon dinner and my husband and best friend got the chicken fried Steak. They loved it. We all will be back.
Staff seemed a bit rushed. Food is pretty good.
Amazing experience, the staff was friendly and quick. The food was incredible. The atmosphere was good. It was clean and fast service. 12/10!
One of the best places to hang and eat in Midland
So AGAIN take my advice with a grain of salt. This place was just too fancy lol. The food was too extravagant. Like they were doing too much. Had the salmon and that in itself was wonderful but the sides was absolutely horrible. The pork was okay but paired with apple butter made it soo much better. The experience as a whole was good.
My new favorite place to eat in Midland. I had the blackened Red Fish. Superb. Wife had some sort of crusted chicken breast. Not my favorite, but she liked it. No surprises the next morning if you know what I mean.
Probably my favorite places to dine in the area. The food and staff is amazing. They have a wide selection of hand-made-from-scratch drinks which are delicious a wonderful selection of wine. The environment is fantastic. The tables and chairs a little tight for large groups your elbows will be by your side however in my opinion it s worth it and they did the best they could with the space they had. Very well run establishment.
Food was great! Not enough servers to provide faster service on drinks. Overall our experience was good but not the best.
Wonderful service and the food was excellent!
Vey good food and drinks. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.
Delicious food per usual! I enjoyed the salmon and some brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts are superb here. I enjoyed the salmon but found I needed to use one of the sauces that came with it to add more flavor as it lacked some flavor on its own. It was cooked well.
I ordered a salad with steak cooked to Medium to go. When I got down the road I checked my meal and the steak was completely raw in the center, my co-worker said it was actually blue. I called (which I normally wouldnt do, but I paid $18 for the steak and $6 for the salad and couldnt even eat the steak), the manager suggested I cook the steak to my requested Medium by putting it in the microwave for 30 seconds... Never in my entire life have I ever heard someone suggest trying to actually cook beef in a microwave. I was also told they would refund me for the steak portion and they never did.
I got the salmon and it was really good with the dill sauce. My bf got the market fish and said it was good, but salmon was better. Our table also got the chicken fried steak with potatoes and they said it was wonderful as well (two people split it as its huge!). The cesar side salad was also nice and had avacado in it We all shared beignets with ice cream, which were ok. Overall, I would go back again! The decor was great too.
Went there for drinks. The server was consistent, the drinks were strong, and the environment was great. Lots of places for intimate conversation! Great place!
Great place to chill with a good bottle of wine.
Hands down this is the best restaurant in Midland. We started with the pimento cheese and crackers and the corn fritters. Both were mind blowing good. The heat tickled our tongues and prepared us for the delightful food ahead. I had not one, but 2, watermelon cocktails. I substituted vodka for gin. The layered flavors were sublime. Served in a beautiful glass and garnished with a chunk of seasoned watermelon, it was presented perfectly. had the wedge salad that included healthy pickled onions and okra. My main was Texan yaki chicken that I highly recommend. We finished it off with beignets served with vanilla ice cream. The staff is super friendly. I just can t say enough good things about this spot. Go as soon as you can.
Loved this place! Food and atmosphere were wonderful. I will definitely be back!
An urban chic dining gem making the eating out experience in Midland more large city upscaled one
Wow. Everything was delicious.
I liked the restaurant, and very clean, and decent design. Very busy, loud, but heard it had decent eats. First off, no soup at dinner? Whaaaat? No steak? Whaaaat? Brussel sprouts were burnt, and not green lol. Mash was a little bland. My boss wanted a steak and salad only but they brought him sides...waitress forgot about us. Some other waiter just dropped off the food and no one asked if we needed anything. At least we didnt have to pour our own wine? He wanted to leave a better tip, but hes been there previously and think they must have gotten a new cook, and new waiters--and was super upset because he recommends the place to everyone that comes in on business. Waitress was nice, just didnt serve us...try again next time I visit for a different experience??
The ambient was great, we didnt have a reservation but we got lucky and they had one table open. The menu Sence boring for a fancy place like this. Doesnt change much. We order the 18oz ribeye steak wich is too big for me so my wife and I decided to split it. Usually is perfect for us. The steak wasnt much to brag about, we could have the same steak in outback. No seasoning besides salt and a bottle of pepper, the only great thing was the Mac & cheese. Probably we wont go back. Also we got charge $4.5 extra because we split the steak.
Great service, food, and drinks as always!
Great place for a weekend dinner. Upscale, fun, and unique for Midland. It s on the pricier side, but you get what you pay for. Their wine dinners are fun too.
We had a memorable dinner at Opals Table. The food was so delicious. The truffle fries are divine! Service was so-so for the price but we will still return. Great ambiance as well. Another nice find in downtown Midland.
Awesome drinks and amazing food.
Great food and the service was outstanding!
What a gem- food was amazing! Atmosphere was inviting and fun- fabulous find in Midland
Worst meal in the Permian!
We never miss an opportunity to dine here when in town. We enjoyed service at the bar tonight and Daniel was excellent! The Brussels and truffle fries are always favorites and the spicy Mexican Martini was perfect. See you next time!
Absolutely wonderful! Server was very, very knowledgeable, sweet and has a great personality. She smiled the entire time we were there. I sincerely apologize for not knowing her name but I would definitely ask for her during our next visit! Food was excellent! Zero complaints! Nice to see this quality in Midland!
Awesome service and great food. Thanks
Nice place, pleasant surprise from the usual in the Midland odessa area. Great food, great service. Bathrooms are far away. You pay for what you get.
Absolutely the best cooked blue cheese burger; edges not over cooked, no pink in middle and hot all the way through and deliciously moist. Fries are delicious or optional salad and their avocado dressing. Many choices on hot tea for a cold day...will be back for the blue cheese burger!
One of the best options for a happy hour with good food and drinks! The staff was great and I enjoyed the atmosphere.
Food was actually good. So many places claim to be high class just to charge more, meanwhile the food isnt always great. But this is one of the best places Ive eaten in quite some time. Every member of the staff I spoke with was very kind and helpful. The atmosphere was calm and quiet. You could have a conversation without having to raise your voice. I found myself whispering many times, but could still be heard just fine. I highly recommend this place for a great night out.
I love the atmosphere!! The salmon is a must!!
Great food, excellent service
No hat policy, a bit overpriced for the food quality. Other than that the atmosphere was alright. Good service though.
The water was chilled. Many times I ve eaten at fine dining restaurants, I ll order water to go along with my beer or cocktail. And quite often, they bring you a bottle of water right out of the tap that is room temperature. Our water at Opal s was ice cold. This is a small detail that did not go overlooked. Their truffle fries are the best in Midland. I ve uploaded a photo of them, but I should note that this was after we d eaten a few. The original presentation was much better. My wife swears by their brussels. My chicken fry was very good and I would immediately think of Opal s if someone were to ask for my recommendation of places to get one. Thanks.
The drinks were great, food not so much!
Beef rib, num num
Really great atmosphere! I love sitting in the downstairs area. Get the beignets!
Food was really great, service was great, I was disappointed by tables and chairs, they should care more about renewing a restaurant in downtown Midland especially for people who want to see nice places in addition to good food.
Very good food wit unique choices priced reasonable
It was a little hard to find since it was our first time here. The food was expensive but it was so delicious and the service was better than most restaurants in this area.
While the locals may know Opals Table well. This is one of Midlands great surprises for travelers. Very enjoyable dining experience.
Excellent Food,Service and Environment, will definitely go back.
Wow! Love the decor, the staff. Really tasty drinks, including a stout from a local brewery. Sirloin was SO tender and juicy, crab cakes tasted really good and had a nice texture. Pricey but definitely worth it, especially to have such a lovely local restaurant. Will be going back.
GREAT, filet was perfect! Service was amazing, very attentive. NEW FAVORITE RESTAURANT!
Vibe-y! Food was delicious
Great food. Great drink selection. We will absolutely be returning. Highly recommend.
Food is really good. Its pricey but honestly, the food was worth it. I had the steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, and the cesear salad. The caeser salad add avocado in it. The reason for four stars is we went into the restaurant upstairs at seven, and left at 9:30. Party of four. Couple of times we had to holler at our waitress for service (to be fair, she never stood still). She was very kind and helpful but for an over $250 bill for two, service should be impeccable on my opinion.
Why is it such a struggle to serve a nice dining experience at $$$ prices when all you were expecting was great service and eating. Not even close as $44 steak cooked like a boot, wine at $30 per glass was warm and shy of a std glass served. The martinis at $14 each were what I judged , watered down. Not enough room to remark on what was a shock for trying out a fairly new restaurant. No stars for this place even though there will be others that were giving a proper dining experience. What a SHOCK TO ANTICIPATE A NICE EVENING AND THIS CAME ABOUT !!!
My wife and I came the other night and we loved it ! All the staff were very sweet and nice, the food was amazing .We are definitely going to come back for another date night !
Lunch service was awesome and the food was amazing!!!
Nice Nice Nice
Great place to dine! Love the food and atmosphere.
#datenight This is a little gem we found. So cute! We went during lunch and the food and service was sensational. We will definitely be back for dinner or brunch!!
From the brussel sprouts to the wedge salad to an outstanding entree, Opals Table cant be beat by any other restaurant in Midland, TX.
Pretty nice restaurant with good food.
Crowded, loud, expensive, claustrophobic dining. Food was good.
Very expensive! Food was ok, service was ehhhh. I would not be coming back.
Such a cool restaurant. Love the ambiance, food and wine list. Cant wait to come back
Only real fine dining restaurant in downtown Midland. Good service and portions of food. Recommended to make a reservation before visiting.
Fantastic staff, food and drinks!
I have been fortunate to eat countless incredible meals in Dallas, Houston, and New Orleans. I visit Midland, Texas frequently and have eaten at all of the well known places. They are all O.K. Then, I found Opals Table in downtown Midland. As much as I like variety, I simply wont eat anywhere else now when I visit Midland. I love the salmon, the salads that taste like the farmer just delivered them, the steak and lobster, and even the chicken fried steak. I have found every meal ridiculously delicious. I enjoy good wine with dinner and they even have an over the top wine list.
Very goood
Great place all around. Not only was the food delicious and done perfectly, the drinks were so good! Best in town. Staff was friendly and on top of it. We most definitely will be back again soon. As a side note...thank you to the couple we sat next to for the delicious dinner treat! We cant thank you enough for being so thoughtful.
The atmosphere, service and food all delivered. I appreciated the creative styling and menu in the downtown district.
Phenomenal!
Opals table is a great place with a nice atmosphere. Ordered the Opals Mac & Cheese which was simple and well prepared. Pasta wasnt over cooked and the cheese mixture was very tasty. The crispy skin chicken was presented very well, nice crispy skin, but the roasted carrots were burned too much on the side the were sitting on the roasting pan and the asparagus was over cooked and mushy. My wife ordered the roasted salmon which was presented very well, but its a farm raised salmon like most restaurants serve in lieu of a more tasty wild caught sockeye or coho salmon. Once again the roasted brussel sprouts were burned too much and the asparagus was over cooked and mushy.
Very delicious and well crafted drinks. Food is good too.
Everything at Opal s is practically perfect! Nothing in West Texas compares! Every detail has been carefully addressed from beer, wine and cocktails to the spot on ambiance. And of course every dish on the menu is absolutely delicious. Hands down the best in Midland!
Went in there got turned away because of my boots but looked nice
One of the few upscale dining options in Midland located in downtown near the DoubleTree. Good variety of appetizers and main dishes to choose from. They only have two desserts, but they are both great!
Incredible food, wonderful, energetic ambiance and impeccable service. Very out of place in Midland but very much appreciated. I will most definitely be coming back.
Too loud, Menue have shrunk over time! Service was great though.
Fabulous food. Excellent service. Guests of nephew Hizonner Wes and missus Roni Perry. Couldnt get any better!
Excellent Food.
Delicious yall. Nuff said.
Nice.. Alittle noisy after the place got full... But still a nice place
Awesome
Beautiful decorations, and unique menu. The seating area is quaint and tables are very close together but me and my group of 3 did not have any problems. The place was busy and seemed to only have 2 servers, but they were very hard workers and kept a smile. The menu was minimalist, food is a tad pricy and The wait was very long, but they were packed and only had the couple of servers.
Food is good but service is so slow
My favorite place to go when in Midland. We had the filet and salmon and both were delicious. The atmosphere is fun and feels comfortable but still upscale. The staff is friendly and especially helpful to me with me choosing the right wine. Definitely returning on my next visit to Midland!
Food is delecious
The hostess was amazing and treated us with hospitality and respect great drinks great service our server was fast and comforting amazing food , beyond happy with my visit I think you just gained a regular customer
Delicious food and excellent customer service.
Great little gem in the heart of downtown Midland! Their menu changes from season to season, so there is always something new to try. I love to get their parm truffle fries and their mac n cheese!
Terrible restaurant, terrible experience. You couldn t pay me to go back.
Great food, Great service!
Food is OK. Had a streak that was properly prepared but the side dishes were very mediocre. They have a craft cocktail menu online but they werent available in person. The $13 margarita was made with a neon green syrup...deal breaker. The wine list looks good but two bottles I asked for were unavailable. Disappointing.
I like this place a lot and we go almost weekly, but it seems one waitress that we get often is a little disconnected from her work. With only one other table, waiting 20-30 mins for a drink after ordered. The food is good for west Texas. The hostess are very sweet. I would recommend this place a thousand times for good food, average service, and great atmosphere. Lowered my score because of a dress code issue. I accidentally wore my hat and was accosted by the waitress. I get it, they might get in trouble but people stopped talking and eating to watch her yell at me. She wasnt even our waitress. It was very embarrassing.
Very disappointing. Bad food experience. Will not return!
Cozy place. Great food but pricey. I would recommend this place to everyone to try. Make sure you have a reservation.
Environment is nice but the smell was overwhelming when we walked in and there was someone elses lipstick still on my glass I drank from. So we just left. Very nice location and place though.
