Taste is great and good atmosphere. We went 4 times so far. One of the servers unfortunately keep taking some plates away although my wife was still eating. Not necessary to rush and clean up the table while we are eating that was the only complaint.

We went to this restaurant to have Dosa. We took our packaged water bottle since I don t drink tap water. The first thing they told me was that outside water is not allowed. Never experienced that in any other restaurant. I think we should be free to at-least bring our own water. Secondly, we ordered dosa but they told that they were not serving dosas today due to their catering order. All in all, a very bad experience for my first visit at this restaurant.

Lovely restaurant, service and delicious food! The new Tandoori Pampano ( Pomfret ) Whole Fish was amazing especially with the hot sauce. Dal and paneer were excellent, too. We will be back!

Haven t eaten in the restaurant, usually do just take out, but from what I see when I walk in the atmosphere looks great and very settling. The food is great! Mutter Paneer is my favorite dish, just wish the naan pieces were a little bit bigger (that s my only complaint). Flavors are amazing and when you order mild, you get mild. When you get spicy, you get spicy! :-)

The last 2 times we have been there she was our server and she is one of the best waitresses I have ever had, Mitch the bartender slings the best drinks, and all the servers are great. We were in town on vacation, and I was excited to find a highly-rated Indian restaurant. In short, everything was fabulous. My family shared the veg samosa, and we all loved them. We also got an order of the cheese naan. My son tried the South Indian coffee, and my daughter tried the mango lassi. My husband said the chicken tikka masala was the best he s ever eaten. He kept talking about the sauce. Our order also consisted of street style noodles, one with shrimp and one with chicken. I enjoyed the Veedu salad with chicken as well as the lemon coriander soup. Everything was very flavorful and fresh. However, the food didn t take long to come out. The service was kind and attentive. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. It had some elements of traditional Indian culture mixed with a modern flair. Above all, everything was clean and very aesthetically pleasing.

One of the best Indian restaurants in Michigan. Hit this on the way back home from Traverse City. Whatever we ordered, it was very nice. Our kids loved the Veedu Fries and the Kulfi. Very nice atmosphere with great staff. I highly recommend this to all who are looking for a very good Indian restaurant.

I went there a couple times in the same day.The first time I went in there I ordered multiple different types of food. All of it was so amazing and everyone was very helpful when it came to answering questions I had about the food (I honestly ate too much food since it was so good- I fell into a food coma). I went later that same day to try out some drinks that a friend of mine had recommended and that was also amazing. Everyone was also very great about offering suggestions about the drink.

Good food very good ambience and excellent service

This place started off with service being a bit rocky but thats OK, its a learn as you go ordeal when youre a new restaurant. The food also started off fantastic. Every month that goes by, the service just keeps getting better and better and the food, oh boy, this is probably THE best Indian food in the entire state. Every single meal is cooked to order they make the food fresh and they do not make batches and serve it throughout the week. This place is knocking it out of the water and I have no complaints about this place. The staff are awesome, the food is phenomenal, and the service is spot on. If you like Indian food and have not tried this place yet, then you need to get in here, sit down, and eat. I promise you will not be disappointed with the entire experience. 10/10 stars, you guys rock. Thank you for opening up such a fantastic restaurant. Amidst a recent sojourn to Mackinaw, we chanced upon Veedu Indian Kitchen and Lounge with little foreknowledge of what lay ahead, and to our delight, we were met with a culinary experience that exceeded expectations. The restaurant s ambiance was nothing short of inviting, adorned with an elegant wine collection shelf and a charming bar area where we were comfortably seated indoors. Our orders were taken with efficiency, and the dishes arrived with impeccable timing, especially considering our sizeable party of 16. Our culinary journey commenced with an array of appetizers, including succulent chicken, tender lamb, and an assortment of expertly prepared vegetarian dishes. Each dish was a symphony of flavors, leaving us eager for more. The main course did not disappoint, as we indulged in soft naan, rich chicken curry, aromatic lamb curry, creamy paneer, and fragrant biryani. The portions were ample, ensuring that every member of our group was thoroughly satisfied. Though satiated, we couldn t resist the allure of their house-made kulfi, a divine conclusion to our meal. The only missing note in this symphony of flavors was the betel leaf (sweet beeda), which we had hoped to savor as a final flourish. Nonetheless, our experience at Veedu was nothing short of extraordinary. It s a hidden gem in Mackinaw, deserving of every Michigander s attention and undoubtedly a destination we will cherish on future visits.

We were a party of eleven and We arrived hungry and tired after their kitchen had closed. Mr.Selvan not only stayed open for us but also had the kitchen make 8 different and delicious dishes with fresh made naans and even a dosa. The staff was amazing. Thank you so much. Our family had a delicious dinner at Veedu. We were 9 adults and two toddlers, sat very comfortably in the back room, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We are all foodies and cooks and we enjoyed a wide sampling of dishes, starting with vegetable pakoras accompanied by admirable sauces. A parade of fragrant plates followed: palak paneer, vindaloo shrimp, lamb biryani, butter chicken, salmon tikka masala, tandoori platter, and channa masala, not to mention naan, garlic naan, and onion kulcha. Everyone got tastes of everything, smiles and happy eating all around. This was our second visit but will not be our last. (Price indicated below includes drinks) Friendly, unobtrusive service and well-presented, scrumptious food. I highly recommend Veedu.

The food here is always amazing, I am slowly but surely making my way through their menu. Their bar is outstanding. The wait staff is good and the atmosphere is casual upscale. Great for a date or a family dinner.

Everything was excellent. Fresh and well seasoned, very affordable and large portions. Very nice looking place inside and out but the lighting is just a little too dark. We had a hard time reading the symbols for the gluten free, dairy free, etc. Will visit again next time were in the area! Dietary restrictions: The menu is marked with indicators for gluten free, dairy free, vegan and nut free.

I absolutely love the food here. The drinks are delicious and the staff are so friendly. Ive dined in which the restaurant is so lovely, I think sitting at the bar is the best. I have ordered take out which was very easy and quickly prepared.

The other Indian restaurants in town have good food. The food at Veedu is excellent, incredibly flavorful with an elevated presentation. The atmosphere is nice enough for a date night. The new bar adds a bit of a cool vibe. The service has been consistently prompt and professional.

This restaurant is truly a mini India of Midland. I took my ex there and she almost remarried me how good of an experience we had. Food was organically fresh. Atmosphere was pleasant and music was soothing and not too loud. Wait staff was very kind and very quiet. And also to say that food was nice and hot like it was freshly prepared and not warmed up in the microwave like a lot of restaurants do now days. Order came quickly and naan and raita were were a 10. They have an actual tandoori oven there so that right there should explain all of it. If you are an Indian food lover I would suggest you go there right now. Because you will miss out. Thanks.

It s hard to imagine better Indian food in Michigan. The chicken bites and vegetable pakoras were great appetizers. And the butter chicken, jeera, naan, and roti were all 10/10 and amazing! I can t wait to go back.

I love this place!! I never knew how delicious Indian cuisine was but I love it now. I have tried multiple items and am always delighted at the flavors of everything. The vindaloo is my absolute favorite dish I could eat it every day The bartender with the sweet stache is awesome we both love him, he was super helpful and a very knowledgeable mixologist his drinks are impeccable. We had one of the best dining experiences at this restaurant. The amazing service and delightful atmosphere made our Saturday night truly special, enhanced by live music. The ambiance struck the right balance not too loud, creating a comfortable dining setting. Our culinary adventure included pani poori shots, cauliflower bites, street-style noodles, chicken Tikka, lamb chops, tikka masala, and naan bread. Each dish was a burst of flavors, making it challenging to pick a favorite. The mocktails here were some of the best weve had. We enjoyed the mango and ginger mocktail and the ginger and lavender mocktail. Not many places have flavorful non alcoholic beverages and these were delicious. We are eager to return for more delicious dishes. This gem has undoubtedly earned a spot in our regular dining rotation.

Loved it. Tried the wings (3rd option of spice) with veedhue fries. It was wiped clean. Goat chettinad was so tender and flavorful, beautiful. gulab jamun with ice cream, just . I dont think i can ever eat gulab jamun without ice cream.

Veedu is the best Indian restaurant Ive ever been to. They serve amazing food and the drinks are out of this world. I recommend their drink with Old Monk Rum (ask what it is to the bartender, I think its new) and any of the Tikka Marsala dishes. The staff is very nice.

Went there with 2 toddlers at almost 2pm. Didn t know they close after lunch hour and re-open for supper time. The waitress and her sup/manager were very helpful. One of our boys had allergy with nuts and they made sure we ordered the safe item. Chai tea was good and strong. Kids liked the poutine. Fried cauliflower was also good. Texture reminded me of fish in a good way. Both soups were wonderful - lemon coriander soup has lots of species (ginger, black pepper, coriander etc) that warms you up. The other one is on the curry-flavor side. Good with naan if you don t wanna order an entrée. We ordered 3 curries and they are all very delicious and flavorful. We used to drive all the way to Saginaw to have Indian food because those in midland were disappointing until we had Veedu! Thank you for the wonderful food and service!

My wife and I are always looking for an atmosphere that wows us and a restaurant that serves authentic, good food. We found it with Veedu. The Indian cuisine we had was fantastic and the drinks were superb. But better yet, the friendly and tailored service make this a must-visit. We will be back early and often!

Already planning another trip when my family comes to visit! A fantastic experience from start to finish! We had the garlic naan, chicken 65, cauliflower 65 and Chettinadu in two spice levels. Outstanding! Sad when my leftovers were gone! My husband LOVED their signature old fashioned and I enjoyed their chai tea- perfect drink for the winter cold! At the very end, the general manager surprised us with their mango kulfi mousse dessert OH MY GOOD GRAVY! It was SO good! Prices are beyond reasonable! Honestly, astonishing how fantastic of a meal you get (actually 2 meals for me) for the money! Can t wait to go back!

We passed through Midland on a recent trip and made plans to stop here for lunch, because we havent had Indian food in several years. Wow. Stunningly good. We each had a dish weve never tried before. I think this is a place where I would enjoy any items from their menu. Even though this is far drive for us, were talking about coming out here just to eat. The waitress was nice, she explained all that came with our dishes. Overall, great experience, we certainly plan on being back soon.

There was not a single thing to complain about! Atmosphere felt like the after of a kitchen nightmares episode, the wait staff was extremely accommodating and friendly, the food was amazing, and the bar is expansive. Everyone in the restaurant seemed to be having a wonderful time, and I felt, even though it was my first visit, like I was an old patron, welcome and friendly with everyone around. Amazing authentic dishes, and a wide variety of regional food as well. 100% my new favorite for Indian cousine!

BEST restaurant in Midland!! Anything I can say does is not good enough to describe this place. We are fortunate to have traveled many places -bd Veedu is world class! Authentic Indian cuisine!! The flavors are expertly combined and every dish we tried is delicious! If you are not adventurous, they can make it mild enough for anyone while creating amazing taste in each dish. Wide variety and every single dish we tried including dessert is home made and amazing! Service is also A standout (shivani!) and so is their bar if you just want to stop in for a craft cocktail or beer. Good wine selection. Don t miss the signature curry! We visited here two months ago, it was great. Yesterday, I made a take out order for a chicken biryani. It wasnt good at all. The white rice was mixed with the biriyani rice to make the rice mild hot/spice( we requested for a milder version considering their medium hot/spice was burning hot) In reality, The biriyani is about the flavorful ness of spices in it and not about hotness created by red chillis. We felt veedu chef wasnt doing justice to the original. The kothuporatta was great and so was the Mango lassi. Their cauliflower bites Manchurian were great from our earlier experience and so was their desserts.

Best Indian cuisine in Central Michigan

Delicious! Highly recommended! I ve been wanting to try this restaurant ever since it opened a few months ago and my friends and I were able to meet up here last week. The ambiance was perfect, our server was so sweet/attentive and the food was absolutely delicious! I had the Chicken Biryani and it was very flavorful! I asked for the mild spice and it was perfect! I had tons leftover and it made for a great lunch the next day! We had some Naan bread and it was perfect. My friend ordered the rice kheer dessert to share and it was so tasty! I can t wait to go back and enjoy another wonderful meal!

Best sit-down Indian in Midland! The owner is frequently onsite and uber-attentive to ensure customers experiences are going well. For two of my experiences, the service has been quite slow (once for a delivery, and once for a group dinner). Both times had fair reasons to be slow (opening weekend, large group with multiple checks), so Id just budget enough time for your meal, but definitely worth it! The bartender is also a carryover from the days when this location was Whine, and his Indian-inspired cocktail list is very creative/worth a try! Vegetarian options: Indian is always a great vegetarian option!

Food taste is just fabulous! I had Chicken and Mutton(goat) biriyani and they were very delicious. I have tried biriyani at several Indian restaurants across the US but this is the best biriyani I have had until now. I strongly recommend everyone to visit this restaurant! The owner of this restaurant Selvan took great care of us and is a very nice person. Excellent experience! This is the go to place for high quality Indian. Mixed tandoori is a wonderful combination of chicken 3 ways, fish, and shrimp. Try it with a bowl of the lemon coriander soup! Been there 4 times in the last month. Im hooked. Good vegetarian options too.

Tried Veedu today for the first time - only comparison I have is to a restaurant my husband and I frequented back in Colorado. I haven t ventured much when trying new Indian dishes, but I know I love chicken tikka masala. This place did not disappoint. The street noodles were also fantastic, will be back!

My friends and I had a wonderful experience at Veedu. We were travelling back home after our trip and we wanted to have dinner at Veedu.We called the owner to check if the kitchen would still be open as we were going to the restaurant at closing hours.The owner was very kind to take our order in advance and he ensured everything was set up perfectly when we arrived! The ambiance was very good and the food was delicious! We ordered the Veedu special goat biryani, chicken biryani, chicken bites, chettinad chicken curry, malabar paratha, naan and a couple of drinks - everything tasted really good. We really appreciate the service and hospitality. I would definitely recommend this resturant to everyone!!

The food was very good, as was the service. I was really pleasantly surprised at how nice the atmosphere is in the restaurant! It is not common for Indian restaurants. The bar was also fully stocked. I went for lunch but would definitely go back for cocktails and dinner!

Top shelf quality food. Try the signature cocktails. Definitely get some naan. We have yet to be even slightly disappointed.

The only reason this got 4 stars is because the person that waited on us was on his phone the entire time he was waiting on us. We still got good friendly service, however it seemed disrespectful to have the person talking on their phone every time they were at our table. The food was delicious. Im a regular at Veedu and their food, along with the presentation, never fails to impress. Id also like to highlight a time when I ordered from them for a gathering at my home. Not only did they ensure everything was delivered on time and with exceptional quality, but their team was also incredibly helpful, staying in touch with me late into the night to discuss food options and preferences. My guests absolutely loved the food!
