I ordered the spicy crazy noodle. I would not have ordered the spicy crazy noodle if I knew it was just 2 dollar buldak ramen noodles.

We showed up hungry after the gym. Two of us. Ordered three rolls: Godzilla, Texas, and Sunshine. AMAZING. Hands down the best sushi in Midland. The jams were BOBBIN bro. Straight classic rock tunes and oldies. We were singing and eating sushi. Hell yeah brother. Miso soup SLAPS. Sushi is FRESH. Owners were kind and gave fast and efficient service. Great people and great place! Very clean also. Loved it. Will be back.

Trying first time in Tokyo I must say this is my best experience ever

Came in on a rainy day. Had Spicy Garlic Edamame, Egg Roll, Texas Roll, Murphy s Style, Godzilla & the Tokyo Roll. So good!

Uh, food is great. Ordered the 10$ ramen and Im pretty sure they just gave me less salty Shin ramen. I would be outraged but then I remembered we sell sams club freezer food like fries and nuggets and sell it for 7$ after we fry it so I guess I had this one coming.

The food was fresh and delicious. The Yakisoba was really good. The staff was friendly and attentive. Will definitely eat there again soon.

The name is misleading, this is more of a Korean restaurant than Japanese. Don t come here if you are looking for Japanese Ramen or any other Japanese dish. The Bulgogi was not very flavorful, the rice was not sticky, and the portion was very small for the cost ($22). I will say the Miso soup was delicious, but overall a very disappointing lunch.

The food is good. I do wish their cutlets were a bit on the thicker side. The food is also a little bit on the more expensive side, ranging from $15-$30 per plate. The owners are sweet too though, I like them!

Ummm...this very well might be some of the best sushi Ive ever eaten! Ive had sushi all over the world and this place is right on par with the best of the best! The spicy garlic edame me was definitely the best Ive ever had and the two rolls we ordered were outstanding! Never thought Id find sushi this tasty in Midland, Texas but here ya go!! The owners are so sweet, the restaurant is always clean, and the food is delicious. My favorite is the Popcorn Lobster Roll. I like how their menu has pictures, too.

This is by far THE BEST sushi place in town. The food is so fresh and super tasty, they have such a great menu, I tried the Cherry Blossom and the Mango Tango and it was AMAZING. Even the Philadelphia roll was perfect!! Service was amazing, everybody was so kind. 10/10

We took a trip over to midland this evening and tried this place. I give them all 5 stars. I had short ribs and they were awesome. The service was really good and the older gentlemen was so kind to my kids. Even if the food wasnt as good, Id come back simply for the service. Highly recommend it.

I recently visited with some coworkers and we had the best experience! Weve since gone again and they didnt disappoint I really love their California rolls and they have a good variety of appetizers to choose from. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I definitely recommend!

This place has won several #1 spots, or let the reviews speak for themselves. Korean family ran. Wife cooks, husband greets, son serves. Husband and wife greet their customers by name, check in on them (I think Brian is searching for a husband for me )-beautiful to see the community they ve created around their homemade delicious meals. Absolutely perfect all the way around! We came early for dinner and it was a calm friendly environment. My son slept the whole time which is rare in restaurants but that s how peaceful this place is! The food was amazing, not something you find in midland/Odessa. Everything tasted really fresh, the noodles were melt in your mouth! Drool worthy. We will be back asap!

We went for the first time this weekend for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. This place definitely lived up to the reviews. The Golden Tiger Roll was perfect in every way. We will definitely order this next time. The Chicken Fried Rice was fresh and tasted real - not overly seasoned. I really liked that they put broccoli in the dish instead of peas. The Chicken Teriyaki had actual pieces of large cut chicken breast. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Wishing Tokyo1 continued success!!! Kid-friendliness: The owner was very kind and encouraging to our bashful daughter.

Not only is the food/sushi delicious, the owner is so very kind! My kids are extremely picky and he went out of his way to try making tempura chicken for them (& succeeded) (its not on their menu). My kids loved it! I will order the spicy garlic edamame EVERY SINGLE TIME, its so dang tasty!!! I also tried the Tokyo special roll (pictured) and Im a huge fan. Looks & tastes amazing. Im originally from California where the sushi is topnotch and very fresh, Tokyo1 gets a 10/10 from me! My new sushi spot in West Texas. It knocks all the others out of the park!

Sashimi and sushi are better served in bite sized Pieces. Theyve definitely adjusted to the Americanized super size everything technique. First time there, last time ordering the sushi. Maybe their Ramen is better or the Yaki soba....skip the sushi.

Absolutely amazing food. Every time we have been, its always perfect. Friendly owners welcome us each time, and its hands down my favorite restaurant in town. Spicy versions of each meal are available on request, which is definitely a must.

Came here with my wife and 18 month old and absolutely loved the experience. The food was beyond phenomenal, and the service was extremely hospitable. The owner engaged in conversations with us throughout our meal and even made our little one feel welcomed. 10/10, well definitely be here many more times.

We have been here both for dine in lunch and for dinner take out - great experiences both times. We were a larger group there for lunch so it was understandably a bit of a wait for all our food to come but it was all delicious. From the sashimi to the raw bibimbap bowl everyone was very happy with their meals. Service was attentive and when we ordered for takeout they even brought it to our car. Looking forward to returning!

Egg rolls were great, sushi came out cold and raw Was told i could get more but then they ended up taking my egg rolls i hadnt ate yet to replace aswell when they werent told too. they did come bacc with more than they took so props for that. good food, 9/10 recommend

The food was amazing. The lovely chef told us that she makes everything, even the sauces (soy sauce aside) from scratch. Everything down to the presentation was perfect. And Brian, the owner/host, was very kind and charismatic. A little on the pricey side, but when sushi is on the menu in the middle of west Texas it always is, so if you love Japanese or Korean food check this place out :)

What a wonderful Asian dining experience! I was blown away by the fresh and beautifully prepared sushi. The chicken fried rice is the best I have had in Midland, and truly all of the Korean options are so tasty and fresh. Highly recommend this restaurant for dine in or take out!

Food was delicious! I tried the udon noodles with chicken. Never had udon before, but they tasted great. Egg rolls were nice and crunchy. Service was great aswell.

Literally The Best Sushi in Midland! Me and the wife are from SoCal so were used to eating some pretty good quality sushis. Weve tried Sumo, Volcano & Hayashi and those were all complete trash sushi, not even anywhere close to Tokyo1s quality! The owner is also from SoCal so that could attribute as to why their sushi is so fresh and delicious (tastes just like SoCals style of sushi... Better actually). The owner is very nice and sociable, always a great time talking to him. Look OUT Midland Sushi scene!!! A new restaurant that throws a high and inside fastball is now here! The owner hails from California in the heart of sushi country. They are new to Midland and excited to be here! They have some dynamite Korean items on the menu as well as FRESH sushi! You will love this place. There is not another restaurant that comes close to Tokyo 1! This is hands down the best restaurant in Midland! Udon and sushi are our go to and they can t be beat! Customer service is great, it s family friendly, but also our favorite place for date night! It s family owned and it shows! Kid-friendliness: My kids love it here. It s not stuffy, the owners are always friendly to my kiddos! It s truly our family favorite!

Small menu and place. Starter salad was gross. The food quality and taste is average, not the best but not bad. SHOCKING prices. $20 to $30 for 1 regular sized specialized roll. Neary $20 for tofu soup. Not worth another visit for me.

The food is really really good, especially the Sashimi which is not an EZ feat in the middle of Texas, so far from the ocean, but the Salmon and Eel is very good. And they have this spicy garlic sauce you can get fore yr edumami mad in house. And the garnish or radish is really good with there signature spicy sauce, really accentuates with the cabbage and sashimi. And the Udon noodles plain with veggies taste so fresh. They deserve 5 stars! If I had to say anything is that maybe the lighting be a little dimmer inside and they said its BYOB or Wine so if you mad ereservations bring the Sake, wine, or beer. But overall the food is well worth the visit!

We always get the volcano roll, beef yaki u-don, beef fried rice. Everything from egg rolls to entrees are amazing. Great customer service very warm and inviting. Definitely recommend.

Very nice people but the food was simply okay. Was disappointed in the ramen because it seemed like a ramen you make at home, no seaweed, no rich flavors, no ginger which makes it taste so good. I always look forward to ramen because of how delicious the broth tastes but in this case it just tasted like store bought ramen you can make at home except it was $12. Sushi was okay too nothing great that would make me go back, shame because the people seem so nice.

We went to Tokoyo 1 tonight for the first time and loved it! The owner (I m assuming owner, felt like the owner lol) was walking around and came over to our table and chatted with us. We will for sure be back! Go check them out if you haven t! Food was great and super clean restaurant!

Amazing experience. We ordered the tempura udon and calamari. Udon was delicious, tempura was very authentic, and the udon had very large portion size (perfect size for my boyfriend, and perfect for me as leftovers for my lunch the next day). Calamari was also very delicious. The owner was so kind and was very nice to talk to. They also offered California rolls on the house! Definitely a great dining experience and will be going again.

We tried this new Korean restaurant with a group of friends. Its run by a Korean family and they are very friendly and nice. We had hot stone bibimbop, udon, bulgogi, some rolls etc. Delicious! They use very authentic Korean gochujang sauce.

Tried this place tonight and the food was excellent. Best sushi I ve had in midland and the spicy garlic edamame was delicious. If you go you must be patient because they are short staffed and the owner is basically running the front of the house by himself. We were there for about 2 hours tonight but I think that s because our order was delayed getting put in. The owner was very upfront about his mistake and even comped a sushi roll. The staff and owner were very nice. Just seemed a little overwhelmed since he is short staffed. I would definitely recommend giving them a try you re willing to show patience and compassion till they get the hang of things.

Im Korean, theres a Korean restaurant in midland, so I went to try it today and it tastes the best!! But little this pointed...Its disappointing to have zero service where food comes first and drinks come later....It would be nice to show the gentle smile and kindness of a Korean style.....anyway clean and good food this place, and good luck and May your business be prosperous!!

Been there for lunch today and the food was fine. We felt like it s kinda overpriced and the wait time was very loooong. They might need to hire more people to help out.

My daughter LOVES sushi and this place did not disappoint. The spicy garlic edamame and egg rolls were sooooooo good. She also got the Ramen and it was very good and flavorful. Our sushi took a bit to come out, but you can tell its because they take their time to make every single dish from scratch. So dont come here if youre wanting fast, over the counter sushi/food. Worth the wait. We will definitely be back.

We love Tokyo 1! The place is spotless, the food is very fresh and tasty and the employees really take pride in their service. Even the way the plate is set in front of you matters to them. We got the shrimp appetizer, fish cutlet plate, popcorn lobster roll, volcano roll and dragon roll. We will be back!

I just left this place and felt moved enough to write this review. First and foremost, the food is fantastic. We had the edemame and various sushi items. The fish was very fresh and each roll had a very unique taste. I would put the sushi among the best I ve had in the Permian Basin. Owner was super nice and courteous, and I d say was as delightful as the meal itself. I will definitely be coming back for more, and suggest everyone give it a try.

The Yaki Soba was incredible.. I got it with beef! The rolls are also great. Look forward to trying more things on the menu.

This place was amazing! Our server was right on. The food was delicious. We tried three different types of sushi and one tempura roll. All were outstanding. For the month of August theyre doing 20% off the whole ticket. They also have other Japanese and Korean favorites. Would highly suggest if you like sushi and Korean or Japanese food you should check it out.

The food is scrumptious and the family who is running the place is delightful! Came in for sushi but decided to venture out and try something new. Had the spicy squid and the bibimbap. The spicy squid was very good but it is also very spicy. The food was fresh and flavorful. You won t be disappointed and I will definitely be back!

Main course was Chicken Teriyaki. It was okay. Didnt really care a lot for the thick sauce, but it was flavorable. Soup was different. Hard to explain its taste. My main issue was the egg rolls. 3 out of 4 were still ice cold inside. Obviously frozen and deep fried. Guessing oil was too hot and crisped the outside while leaving the inside cold. The prices were definitely on the high side. Was hoping for a great meal, but it wasnt to be tonight.

We have ate at every sushi place in town and by far this is legitimately the freshest sushi in town. It definitely has the true flavor changes that are expected with good true sushi. Will be back and have found our new sushi home!!

This is my second time eating here, but both times their sushi has been so fresh! Really really love their Sunshine roll!

Brian and his staff are some of the nicest people ever! Very attentive of their customers. The food is so good! We order a lot of sushi and they always bring it out on some of the nicest decorated plates. I almost always forget to take pictures sometimes with how pretty it looks! The tempura rolls are always so good, and the ramen and udon are perfect for the colder days coming up!

We really enjoyed Tokyo 1 in Midland. Being out in West Texas, you wouldn t think an Asian fusion restaurant, let alone sushi would be on the top of the restaurant lists to hit. Tokyo 1 is very much an example to the contrary. Very traditional in the strip mall style Asian restaurants, the décor and dining area is welcoming. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They were quick to make recommendations and pairings of beverages, rolls, bowls and appetizers. The owners were very friendly and we really enjoyed that they came by to tell us about their restaurant, menu, and history. The menu is extensive and is guaranteed to satisfy anyone with a craving for Asian inspired fare. We sampled a broad spectrum of offerings from the chicken fried rice, the hot stone bowl BiBim Bap, and I personally sampled a tempura roll called the King Kong. Though the prices of the rolls may seem a little higher, the attention to detail and expanse of fresh ingredients certainly provide a great value for the money. If you get the chance to check out this family run restaurant with a great menu, I highly recommend it.

I got the teriyaki chicken here and it was horrible. Whatever they were trying to pass off as teriyaki was very bitter with a consistency of water. The egg rolls were more like spring rolls and they were cold inside when I ate them. Some of the steamed rice was way overcooked and burnt and was a brownish black color and crispy. The best part was the miso soup, which was surprisingly good. On a good note the service was quick and the staff was friendly. However, it was one of the worst tasting meals I have had in a very long time.

This place is terrible, my husband and I went for lunch and they seaweed soup and salad available only, no menus & no food. The place was an empty room and not a restaurant. My husband and I stopped by here on their grand opening, August 29, 2021! The staff is enthusiastic and friendly, this is a family owned restaurant and I think their first venture. Theyre eager to learn and be one of the top restaurants in Midland, so come by and give them a chance. Because this is the grand opening, menu options are currently limited. My husband and I both got Egg rolls and Teriyaki Chicken lunch items. The lunch comes with soup, fried vegetables, and fried rice. I included a picture of my meal! The food is very fresh, and made from scratch in the back. You can hear it being made. The chicken even seems to be hand cut to carefully trim away fat and cartilage (which I personally appreciate). They use a long grained rice for the fried rice which really absorbs the flavor of the sauces used. The soup we got was a fresh green onion/cilantro soup, really unique. I never had anything like it. I really appreciate how healthy and crisp the food was. It didnt feel like it was weighed down with grease, but still had a lot of good flavor. Edit: In response to the other review, Im the one who got this restaurant listed on Google to help the owner. I took a picture of the restaurant and food we were served. So these pictures are accurate at the time of my posting them, which was the day they opened. I have no idea how they have maintained their operation since lol.

Does anyone what happen to them? I gave three stars so I could wite a question but the last few times I went by, during Google claim of hours, they have not been open. Did they go under after a month?
