3205 W Cuthbert Ave, Midland, TX 79701, United States
Lively, old-school standby for Mexican & seafood dishes, plus a full bar & TV sports.
Came for the menudo took a while to get service and when the menudo came it was cold I hate sending food back but come on.
Omg this plate was amazing 🤩 The service was fast & delicious 😋
Server could barely speak English, service was slow even tho they were not busy at all. Had to ask for drink refills, more chips, more salsa. Food was mediocre at best. 6 of us for dinner, 3 orders were wrong when delivered and had to be sent back. Person who ordered a dozen oysters $12, was only brought 6 $9. When he reminded them that he ordered a dozen, they brought him 6 more, but then charged him for the 6 order twice $18, instead of the dozen price of $12. Won’t be back.
Big portions, not expensive! Respect to cook! Dear owner! 5 stars for the food. Please, remind your employees to be more friendly and polite. I understand that I arrived 20 minutes before closing, but this is NOT a reason for attitude. Waitress was trying to convince me to order to go. And after I said I want to dine in, she made a face like I asked her to clean restroom in my home. Same with waitresses, looked at me like I destroyed their lives. My my accent was the reason, I dont know. Please, ask them.
Service was excellent they're always on top of everything However... Ordered a trio fajita plate (chicken beef shrimp). Nothing was seasoned very well, and everything was way overcooked. Chicken was overcooked but half decent. Shrimp had zero flavor like it was straight out of the water, and the beef was like leather you couldn't even chew it and tasted old the beans were alright, but the rice wasn't fully cooked. chips that were brought out were old and stale. The tea and salsa were good. Honestly, this was really bad, and they need to get a new cook or train the one they have better. $25 for a really bad plate....unacceptable 👎
Really enjoyed this Mexican food from this place, and the margaritas are great! They have many combo options and the prices are fair. The chile relleno, enchiladas, tamales, and tacos are all really good. I visit Midland pretty often and I’m always ready to come back to this restaurant.
Our rice was hard and dry but the rest of the food was great. Service was awesome and the atmosphere was good. No complaints really maybe it was just bad timing and our rice wasn't that good. Overall we would try again.
One of the best Mexican restaurants in Midland. The service is great, The staff treat you so good and are so attentive. There's absolutely nothing bad about this place. Best enchiladas and queso in West Texas. Love their Tio Chavas plate, Been my favorite for at least 15 years now. This is the spot for the best service, lovely atmosphere and great food.
There is a language barrier most of the wait staff doesnt speak English very well
Zumba through the walls
Food is always consistent which is good.
Good quality
It was okay.. the salsa was a little to hot and the chicken in my burrito was a little dry
It s Chitos but just another name. Service was great, food mediocre.
Great menudo. over all great experience
Yeah. I barely knew this place. We received very good attention from a lady named Lupita. What excellent attention. Plus the food is exquisite. Very rich. Yeah. I recommend it 100%
Great food, asado and chips.
Good food at a reasonable price!
My respects. They serve super fast and very delicious
I like the old Ajuuas. No offense, but the food and service were so much better just a few years ago!
Can never take to go orders right, idk why I keep trying
Limited fish selection.
We Love Ajuuas. Food is good, service is good, atmosphere is good, prices are good! For as long as I remember weverarely gone to Midland without eating at Ajuuas.
Good food .service good except the one younger guy he is rude.
Food and service was good.
You cant go wrong here I been here about 7 times and each time left very pleased....money well spent
For very good Mexican food I suggest here. The margaritas are amazing as well as Thier combination fajitas. Saturday mornings they do amazing menudo. Sunday they have mariachi band. Full restaurant seating as well as small sports bar cantina. Kid-friendliness: They are very kid friendly
Amazing food
So, my family and I used to come here ALL OF THE TIME. It was delicious. But recently I ve noticed a lack in the quality of food. The service is always amazing. We get our food quickly, but our food doesn t taste amazing like the way that it did.
Good food great people
Everything on point !! VERY GOOD STAFF AND FOOD !!
Love the coctel de camaron the food there is good. Andres always gives us great service me and my dad always go there to eat.
We arrived about 2:00. There was a short wait. We were seated, and a girl took our drink order. Then we waited...... there was some confusion about which server was going to take our table. Finally, the girl helped us out. They brought us the wrong order and then quickly took it to another table. My wife got her plate a few minutes after I got mine. I ordered a torta Cheeseburger with bacon. It didnt have bacon, so I asked the server who delivered it to me to remove the bacon from the order. Instead, he brought me some very well done bacon chunks to put on the sandwich. I was disappointed with my meal because, the food was cold. This was rare for Ajuas. Usually they get 5 stars. Today they dropped the ball.
Huge portions of delicious Mexican food.
Steven the old server. Is very slow and gives attitude. If you go request to not sit in his section. How is it my fault they take 20 mins to bring drinks and take your order? Food
Service was awful. Food was mediocre this visit.
The atmosphere the day I went seemed good to me, since I didnt need anything more than peace, good service and good food.
Waiter was not punctual but everything was good in the end
Great lunch special selection. Dinner is great also. Had a little hiccup but what restaurant doesnt since were all human.
If you like traditional Mexican food, Ajuuas is worth a stop. I had chicken fajitas. They were loaded with hand cut chicken, which could have been a meal for two. I found most of the meal bland by tex mex standards but true to form for traditional Mexican food. The service was ok, and they were reasonably priced.
Its a good place to eat and still be able to talk with a nice ambiance. Food
Got charged twice. Manager refused to be helpful. Never coming here again. Not to mention food has gone down hill.
Good food and pretty cheap. Good place for some lunch and beer
Food tasted old, unseasoned and microwaved. It s more like texmex to us. Honestly, to us, we were expecting better & we wouldn t go back.
Met there for lunch with my daughter, grandson, and his girlfriend. The food was authentic and freshly made.
Ordered Pork Fajitas and the pork was extremely tough and crunchy. Completely overcooked and dried out.
Food was good and the waitress was very attentive.
Very friendly staff
The plates are so huge! And the side salad was an actual salad. I will definitely be coming back here. The food was amazing.
I ordered the Carne Guisada. The meat was hardly seasoned. It wasnt remotely spicy. It was as if they took a ladle full of a beef stew and put it on a plate. The rice and beans were both bland and nondescript. I asked for corn tortillas instead of the hard and dry flour tortillas they gave me. The waiter said, So you would like an order of tortillas? He then charged me $1.50 for three small corn tortillas. Unfortunate.
Had lunch. It was ok. Will try it again and update if it improves, tons of selections still to try.
I have been in Midland for two years and Ajuua s is hands down the best Mexican food I have had here in Midland. All the staff were so pleasant. It was really a great dining experience. This is finally my favorite Mexican food restaurant. Our Allstate agent recommended Ajuua s. Glad we tried it out!
Fiancé and I had a great lunch, would recommend getting there before 12 as it tends to get fairly busy once the rush settles in.
Great established family restaurant, nice bar with great drinks and tvs to watch sports
It was OK
Wonderful atmosphere, the steak and chicken fajitas were awesome!
My favorite restaurant in Midland
Our waiter is awesome. Queso and salsa are best in town, I think. Love the food and margaritas Wheelchair accessibility: Could use more handicap parking.
Went with my son to eat dinner. The first waitress that took our drink order looked in a bad mood. A second waitress who looked to be in a worse mood took our drink order again as the first waitress didnt put it in the system. We then ordered our food and the food took 40 minutes to arrive. It was cold and the portions were meager. Horrible experience overall. The restaurant was ok back then, but now its subpar.
Unfortunately, my recent visit was marred by consistently poor service from the waitstaff. Despite bringing the issue to the managers attention, there was a lack of concern or effort to address the situation. Disappointing overall experience. In addition to the subpar service, I couldnt help but notice the manager appearing unwell while handling food. This raised serious concerns about hygiene and overall cleanliness. Its disheartening when both service and health standards fall short.
My favorite restaurant for Tex/Mex !
Great food, service is great,& the atmosphere is pleasant. I can always find something with my dietary restrictions. Plus the lunch specials are the best! The salsa has just the perfect kick.
I had Michelada con clamato with Michelle ultra Tostadas de ceviche Queso Salsa and chips and A torta estofado with fries It was amazing and I would eat there everyday If I could! Parking: Lots of parking and lots of places to sit if you are on a waitlist
Very friendly. Great food and reasonable priced!
Great food and service.
One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Midland. The Tacos Chihuahua were legit! Service was great!!!
SALSA OH YEAH!! Great Mexican spot. Probably one of the best on west Texas! Super friendly and fast and great tasting!
Best chips and salsa
Same family that owns Cheetos... but better! Yes, its doesnt have the same atmosphere, but the food, I belive is actually better! Its a low key place for wonderful food and wonderful staff. I dont believe Ive ever had a bad experience there. They used to be home of the 5.99 fajita and they were awesome then (20 years ago), they couldnt do it now, but everything on the menu is wonderful and still priced just right for a whole family.
Its been a while, but still as great as I remember. Food was delicious, and the service was top notch.
Great food and inexpensive with beautiful waitresses
Best deals you can get and salsa for chips alway ls fresh best quality mexican side on the county Id say kings of 5 dollar fajitas for the longest best Id say at a eating in my raisings here town local Parking: Open gotta drive thru too pretty good for call in orders just make sure they dont forget ur salsa when there busy Kid-friendliness: Family establishment was next to the .50 movies foe the longest b4 they closed ajuaas is an original authentic Mexican food for us here in midland county
Best food and service weve had in awhile!!
Service was bad, our table was so wobbly, my glass to my drink was sticky when they gave it to me
Awesome
I don t know what you guys did different to the salsa but PLEASE go back to the way it was made! I drove way across town for a 16oz of salsa and chips and got home and was so disappointed it was like tomato and jalapeños water!
We have eaten many times. In our opinion best Mexican food in Midland, Texas. Everything we have has been very good Great margaritas as well Food
Ajuas Midland has always been one of my favorites in every category
Good delicious food
good service
You have lost 4 customers for life. We get seated and then wait 20 minutes for a waiter to ask what we need? I asked what took so long he said well you can leave. Ok. Well the restaurant wasnt busy at all we arrived before the church rush. Well we will no longer be eating at this restaurant again after that experience. To many other places to eat in Midland.
Great food best chips and queso.
Waitress did not ask if a refill was wanted. Got my order wrong. Never brought my condiments i requested. She was too busy with the only other table she had with all the guys and her phone behind the bar.
Food wasnt good and our service sucked!
Not too busy Sunday night super delicious
Great service
Food was very greasy.
The waitress who brought the sodas didnt understand English. When the waiter came, we ordered the fajita special, and it tasted good, but looked like beef stew. Huge chunks of beef in a gravy. Nice atmosphere, but expensive menu.
A long standing great place here in Midland! Good portions. Good food. Good people.
Staff is super friendly, tea & salsa is amazing! The the portions of their plates-ladies you may need a to go box! I haven t eaten anything there I haven t liked! Kid-friendliness: Clean high chairs
The food was great, the beer was ice cold, and the service was friendly and fast.
Bad self-service service, I ordered some ham cakes and the person at the window went to talk to someone else and left me waiting. They dont know how to serve the public. Thats why there are courses.
Ordered a quesadilla and was brought a tostada with queso on it which is the same as chips and queso and the manager just said well thats how we been making them for 20 years
Not impressed at all. Queso was bleh, rice was not good and very dry. Nobody but 1 person spoke English which made it very frustrating.
Overall just very very bland food. Not bad necessarily just not seasoned like at all. Rice was a bit dry. None of it wasnt edible but I wont go there again. Waitress let my drink run out so thats why I took a star away under service. Atmosphere was okay wasnt too noisy wasnt too quiet just kind of bland I guess. Overall for the price of the food I think I would have been better off going to El hacienda or abuelos
Excellent in everything
It was so hot in the seating area it was hard to eat . We came because we were working outside all day . But the good was delicious. And the waitress was very nice .
Liked it and the food was great
The one in Odessa, Tx suxs! It is loud and the menu is not the same! The one in Midland is the original menu and the atmosphere is fabulous! The best original Ajuuas!!!!!! Ditch Odessa and drive 15 minutes to Midland!
The enchilada
Everything is very good but I do not recommend that you order the shrimp broth, that gets a 0
We had lunch with our son and his girl. No issues. Wonderful food, good service, not too busy.
I loved it! Beef flautas with queso on top delicious:)
The only thing that turned me off was the 6 feet apart stickers from the Covid days on the outside windows.......by now they should remove it. PLEASE DO IT. Food
For a small shopping center restaurant, it was an unexpected and delightful gem. The service was amazing, the prices were very reasonable and portions left plenty for another meal. Its just great and a new favorite for me!!! Fresh salsa out of this world!
Good service n food
Good food, prompt service, and good atmosphere. Food sabroso !
Been to a lot of better places, disappointed with the menu. However, if you re looking for a lot of decent food for your money this may be your place. Side note: The height of the bar is very high over the stools so unless you re an ex basketball ball player, you re going to feel like a little kid there eating your meal.
Everything was very delicious but they didnt want to make us a tilapia with garlic mojo and we asked for it fried, good flavor
I love this place
Great food good service
Yall need more English speaking workers. Would be a 5 star if that was available.
Always a great choice. food is always hot and fresh and with awsome Service . Good location .
Some of the best slasa in town
Food been better, had no flavor.
the salmon and shrimp was amazing and the service is great
Food was great.
Love this place! Best salsa in town. Staff is friendly and the food is always good. Food
Lots of choices and huge portions. Good prices.
Our food came out quickly and was so fresh and amazing!!!
The food here was delicious! The service is top notch for being in Midland! The experience was one of kind. If your looking for authentic Mexican food you should definitely try this place!
Great Mexican restaurant
My Husband and I love it here. This is a great place to enjoy a day with your spouse. Unwind and have some great authentic Mexican food. Our favorite choice is always Sea Food. Waitress s always have a great attitude.
Had a torta plate
Always good food... great atmosphere inside!
Eat here on a regular basis. Great food staff and atmosphere.
Thier salsa is like mine . Love the cheese enchiladas with red sauce.
There was no waiting here they got you in right away seat you down and 5 minutes someone was already there getting your drinks as they brought us chip and salsa.
Food was right on point Ribeye Mexicana is top of my list for Midland
Worst service ever!!
Service was awful. Took a while to get drink orders. Had to ask for menus. Waitress played with her hair a lot and spent a lot of time on phone, standing around chit chatting. Decent food, good prices but the services was no bueno.
The food was as awesome as ever. Always tasty and service was incredibly fast and great! We were seated on the far side of the restaurant from the bar next to a table that was only drinking. Things were fine when we sat down, but escalated swiftly.
Great little place in Midland for solid dependable Mexican food.
I love that place because they have a great service at the bar they know already what you going to eat but the last couple of months the kitchen are getting worse the food was terrible and the manager of the kitchen never tried to fix my plate and hes always drinking and staring at the customers and for me its very uncomfortable I miss the old ajuuas
