My wife and I decided to try this restaurant after seeing a commercial several times. The place was low key but the food was very delicious. My wife had chilies rellenos and I had ranchero tacos. Both plates had very good portion size and the food was very hot. We had never had food come to the table as hot as this. We highly recommend Candilejas and know that no-one will be disappointed.

I wasn t a fan of the salsa but that was the ONLY thing I can say negative. The food was great and fresh and the little older lady serving was an angel. We were the only ones there then people trickled in, mostly older couples. I would definitely recommend and will be back.

Lady serving me was nice. Got a combination plate. The taco was supposed to be ground beef but instead had some kind of brisket or something. I made the mistake of not specifying Green chicken enchiladas and instead got red but wasnt asked if green or red either. My mistake for assuming. Salsa was sub par

Cant believe Ive been sleeping on this gem the camarón a la diabla was delicious you can choose how spicy you want it got a 2 and it was perfect not to hot not to mild.

The only place I will actually go in and sit down to eat. Just awesome the staff

Wonderful experience! Food was good, but the ambiance was phenomenal! We stumbled upon it waiting for our daughter at a school function. Turns out, Friday night is Karaoke night! Only one man sang while we were there, but we had to leave before they got busy. He did a great job! The chicken fajita meat was delicious. I wasn t a fan of the guacamole. I like to taste the avocado. Too much cilantro and onion. Cheese enchilada was delicious and my hubby loved the tacos rancheros.

Best Mexican food I have had so far in Texas. My husband and I have been in Texas a couple of weeks now for his job. We are on a mission to try as many Tex-Mex/ Mexican places we can while here. We were in Midland around lunch and tried this place. It was so good and fresh. The food was freshly made and the flautas that my husband got were the best we have had (I had to try them of course!). Their guac was also excellent. We got our food to go, but the staff was very friendly. We are going to make it a point to go back before we leave this area.

I highly recommend Candilejas restaurant. The food is delicious and the workers are very courteous and friendly. Will definitely be going back.

I tried this place while traveling to Midland for Business. The food is absolutely delicious and the staff very friendly. Since I have a gluten intolerance, I had to ask the staff questions about the fryer used for the chips, if any flour was used in the sauces, etc. The lady who served me was very nice and accommodating. I had the enchilada plate with cheese enchiladas and Verde sauce. It couldnt have been better!

First time and the last time I ordered chicken fajitas is was undercooked, tea was good!

The chips were light and fresh. The salsa was fresh and delicious. The queso was made fresh and delicious. The beans and rice, delicious. The tamales tasted like they had just been rolled and steamed. The taco is a fresh corn tortilla, filled from the bottom to the top with ground beef that is devine, then fried to perfection. The red enchilada sauce was perfect. The beef Chile rellano was... You guessed it delicious. The wifes steak tacos were pilled with perfectly seasoned, tender meat and the fresh corn tortillas were unimaginably tender and tasty. If you dont stop reading this right now and go here to eat youre a fool. If you didnt notice how many times I said fresh and delicious let me sum this place up for in three world. Fresh and delicious. To top it all off our bill was only 25 bucks for so much food I could barely finish. Why are you still reading, you should be driving to go eat here.

Flavors were ok, but I wouldnt call it authentic Mexican. First, the positives. Customer service is fantastic and their tamales are crave-worthy, especially with the queso sauce on top. Kids enjoyed their meals. Now for the not-so-positives. There are no prices on the menu, so you have no idea how much youre going to pay until youre up at the register. I was shocked at the price for 4 people plus a dozen tamales. The enchilada sauce tastes like its straight from the can. They use ground beef in the tacos and (soggy) chile rellenos (not authentic Mexican - thats Tex-Mex) and its not very well-seasoned. Im from AZ, and authentic Mexican means something totally different to me. Honestly, I wouldnt even have bothered to leave a review except the price was so shockingly high. I can only think that they charged me menu price (there was none) for the tamales and have higher food prices than expected, but I guess thats my fault for not confirming the prices beforehand. Lesson learned. We wont be back.

It was almost like they had zero seasonings...... There was no char on the meat and the onions and peppers where almost still crunchy

Had the crab enchiladas. Never had crab meat in enchiladas before but I can say this place really had it put together. A good homey feeling in the restaurant as well as good chips and salsa. If you re looking for a Mexican place that sets itself apart from the others, this is definitely a good choice.

Everything was fantastic! Im traveling with my mom and grandpa and we stopped in Midland. We looked for Mexican and there are many options that come up. We debated a couple places that came up, but at some point I came across this place and chose it. We were very lucky this place came up. We all finished everything we ordered and commented on how good it was the whole way through. My grandpa gets Chile Rellenos from every Mexican restaurant he goes to and he thought this was very likely the best hes had. My mom got Tacos Rancheros and said the steak was great. I got the Big Wet Burrito with shredded beef with queso on top, and I loved it. The salsa was great - good heat. Guacamole was great too. We got lucky we chose the right place. Hope others do the same!

First time being there. Looks like they have been doing upgrades and making the place look nice. Very simple on the inside which is nice, easier to keep things dust free. Waitress was nice and helpful. Food was great. The only thing I would suggest they upgrade is the picnic table covers which do not match the chandeliers and also the mismatched chairs.

Great find! The Menudo , caldo de pollo and chile rellenos were very good! The sopalpilla was awesome! What we thought was average was the red enchiladas and flautas. Place was clean and service was promt. Good prices! Definitely coming back!

I loved all the food that I tried it this restaurant, which thing is I love Mexican food wouldnt seem like much of a feat. However, I did actually try seafood here that I enjoyed thoroughly the shrimp and fish chile rellenos are amazing and I am not a fan of either fish or shrimp. My boyfriend got the dish and I tried it and liked it much to my surprise. The spicy food is actually spicy, and the meats are seasoned well. The cook is amazing as well as the wait staff. It wasnt very busy at all I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for good Mexican food. P.s. they have a spicy salsa that isnt for the faint of heart. Made the boyfriend sweat even though he insisted it wasnt hot.

No real food menus. Just have a piece of paper laminated with pics of food and name of plate. No prices..... Wait staff was barely non existent .. went after 11 am and place was not even busy. Not even at 12 were they busy... food was ok, but had no real flavor. Might return if I have no other place left to eat....
