We used to come here once a week. Now maybe twice a year. We order nachos with extra cheese. No extra cheese. I am beyond disappointed. Service isn’t what it used to be. Salsa is different. Oh well. Same as other restaurants in Midland. Most of the disappointment starts in the kitchen.
We all got food poisoning. Purchased one of the most expensive dishes just to find it it wasn’t a specialty and poorly cooked/seasoned. The best part was my soda….. now we’re stuck at home throwing up with stomach ache and diarrhea
As a person from out of town we got recommended this place and we were told it was very good. The food is pretty good and the problem was the wait time. We waited almost an hour and a half for our food mind you we ordered green enchiladas and a ribeye steak. This is not a difficult order to be waiting that long. The restaurant was mildly packed,while we were waiting for our food I decided to look up the reviews for this place many complained of waiting issues so this has not changed. The table next to us was very upset with the wait time as well. Overall the Waitress was very awesome even she was very positive when we revived our food she even asked us if we were still hungry. I thought this was funny and she was very good.
So many Mexican restaurants taste the same, not the case here. The chips and salsa was awesome. The Chicken Fajitas was loaded in flavor. I was blown away. Save your money, don't go spend it at a fancy high restaurant when Dos Compadres is in town. Way more flavor to their foods.
One of our favorites places for lunch! Great chips and salsa! I had the child's cheese enchilada and my friend enjoyed her favorite, cheese enchilada plate.
I usually come here for lunch and never leave disappointed it’s always go good. So me and my family decide to come for dinner and it wasn’t even late for them to lack on the food. It was a table of 6 and two of them from the party never been to this restaurant And I was the one to recommend because it was always great but this time it was very disappointing. The service was good but for some reason the food was nasty. I told both of my family members that the fajitas were very good but when they received their fajitas it didn’t even come out sizzling and look like it was just sitting there. They didn’t get their tortillas until 10 min later to eat the fajitas with. My mom received her Gorditas 15 minutes later after we all got our plates. All of our plates had cold beans and rice as well. I know that every time I come here they have always brought the fajitas sizzling and smoking still, everything is always on point and very fresh. One of them ordered the trio and the shrimp was cold as well. I know a big gratuity was taken out which wasn’t the waitress fault she did great. The lack of effort was in the kitchen part and food served cold especially shrimp can start growing bacteria which can cause food poisoning. Maybe its the morning crew that are so much more caring then the afternoon crew but get it together we pay for our meals especially for that much which was not cheap. It was not worth it at all last night. Do better !!!!!!
Order to go, and very disappointed. Chicken fajita, it was more veggies than like 5 strips of chicken. Order 2 fajita tacos looks like they made it with their feet. Shrimp cocktail small, looks like I was driking a clamato juice. NO UTENSIL and all that for $50 Have to create my own fork or spoon
No mask required.. Presentation was nice and service was good. The green enchiladas were not great and the carne guisada was good. Flour tortillas have a homemade taste and texture to them. The hot sauce with the chips had a handmade taste and was fiery hot. Not a fan of their deep fried ice cream. Good place to have drinks as well.
Always a great place with great salsa.
Ive been going there since they opened and it has remained consistent and excellent since then. The food is some of the best ever in Midland. The servers are quick and attentive. Ive had a few hiccups over the years but they were dealt with immediately and always appreciated the rectifications. Wheelchair accessibility: Its a bit of a chore.
Seafood was blah will not be returning.

We come here a lot and for some reason this last visit service was very slow. Food is good.
If I could give negative stars I would. I would not recommend anything off the menu due to us being in the restaurant for 40 minutes and only getting drinks. Once we figured we would not be served we decided to pay and leave. The waitress told us we were good and acted like she did not care that we were leaving or that we came to eat. She was also very rude.
We were charged for food that was cold and not good. Seems like they would offer to replace the food that wasn t fit to eat .
The service was slow, seated fairly quickly, but order taken after quite a bit of time. Waited for our food literally an hour, and it was average at best. Had to go to the front for the wait staff to finally close our tab, she feverishly plugged it into an old school adding machine and told me she already added her gratuity, no idea how much she paid herself. ( It was a party of only 6) Honestly not at all worth $180 for our party of 6 that included 2 kids. Would not return!
Went after lunch rush really only one waitress. My daughter slipped and fell on water on the floor. I even told waitress but didnt acknowledge it. Food was ok.

I like this place. That being said its a little hit or miss on quality of food I wish it was great every time I came here, but to be honest its great just often enough I keep coming back.
kinda upset because i ordered the number one which i always get and i didn t receive my tostada or guac salad and when i asked my waitress for it she told me the number one doesn t come with those items, but when i was paying i looked at the menu and found out it does in fact come with it she just wasn t educated on the menu i guess:/
They are very friendly and treat you like family. The food is amazing! I enjoyed everything. It does get crowded at certain times, but its worth it. Give it a try, I bet youll love it like I did. Parking: There is plenty of parking, yes, but just not a lot right in front of the restaurant. And theres only a few handicap species. I did end up parking, not very close to the building, but it wasnt too bad at all. Im handicapped so it does mean something when I say, It wasnt that bad.

Called to order a meal to go, because i had a very busy day and was very tired. Im a single mom of 2 young kids and didnt want to cook. Told them twice NO BEANS IM VERY ALLERGIC. Got home opened my meal and what is BEANS they were not on the side but mixed in. I called them and said I want a refund. I had to explain twice why until they listened. Stop playing with peoples lives. If I had not seen them and ate it well yeah that would have been a hospital stay and might even kill me. Im highly allergic my whole body shuts down. Cant take a simple order. Never going back and not going to recommend.
Enchiladas and tacos are my go to, but here lately Ive been getting the asado,and chile verde gorditas have been spectacular! Highly recommend if you can handle a little spice.

It is not a place to bring a date, but the food is good and the people are nice. Some of the staff has a problem with English, but it was enjoyable. The price is the same as the other Mexican restaurants.

The best place in Midland for Mexican food and micheladas! The service is always great. The food is always fresh and delicious. This has become one of our regulars.
I would have given this no stars but had no choice. I really expected a lot from this restaurant I even compared it to the good old Tampico Spanish Inn but this place was awful the fish was raw my gorditas were undercooked worse money Ive ever spent and no I did not tip the waitress cause she was nowhere to be found I will never go back again what a bummer expected a lot in Got Disgusting food..this place is gross never again!!

The best Mexican food in Midland.
First impressions were excellent! Everything from greeting to cash out was very good. Our table enjoyed tamales, enchiladas, crispy tacos, and stuffed peppers. Will be back to try other items.

We live South of town so its been a while since we visited Dos Compadres and we had forgotten how GOOD it is. We werent planning on going but while discussing our options we chose Dos. So glad we did. Salsa and chips were Great, she had fajitas and I had Robertos special. I could not eat it all. We wont wait so long before our next visit!

Was in town and stopped by for dinner to-go. Sat in the bar, good service and a pretty good margarita. Food was good. Note, to-go does not include chips, you need to request.
It takes a long time to serve your order, the food is very bland, the steaks are of very poor quality, we ordered rob eye and what they gave us was super hard, it looked like hair meat, super durable and very expensive, really not good at all.
Went to have lunch today and i would not go back. Service was not great got so sick from their tamales. seemed like they forgot about them and still served them burnt and i still can not get the bad taste out of my mouth. Ordered the queso which was to watered down. Had to get up and ask for my check and refills on my drinks.

I thought they had handmade tortillas. . I recommend the freshly made tortillas Pensé que ustedes tenían tortillas echas a mano pero no . ( les recomiendo incluir en el menú tortilla frescas ) Parking: there is enough parking however if there are many people it will be difficult to find parking Kid-friendliness: its a family environment
Brought me chips and salsa. Order a large beer. Brought me that. Chips were ok. Salsa was good. Never got waited on. Drank the beer. Waited. No one waited on me. Paid for my beer and left. This was mid afternoon. They weren t busy. Horrible service. I won t be back.

What happened to this place? Used to be really good. Mediocre food. Bad salsa, old chips, terrible margaritas that tasted like straight sweet and sour. Guacamole was 90% lettuce and tomato mix. Food took a long time and it was cold when received. Seemed others were waiting long on their food too. Over priced for small portions. This place used to be really good. What a let down.
Food was delicious, had the chicken portobello fajitas, and queso w/beef. The staff was so nice and the atmosphere was calm, and not all lit up. Definitely going back!
It s ok but not as good as it has been in the past. The menus felt sticky and table sign too. I was really disappointed. I was not even offered another drink. Just a weird vibe.

They have very dangerous benches at the entrance when we sat down and I ended up standing last, I fell because I got up, be very careful.
The food was delicious, the service was fast, and the salsa was great!! I love West Texas Mexican food. We live in the hill country now, and its hard to find delicious Mexican food like West Texas has.

Speedy yet friendly service and the food was amazing! This place was our first stop when arriving to Midland and will be permanently on my itinerary when coming through town.
They dont want to give corn tortillas... and kemada fajitas.
Food was good. Service was extremely slow. Waited 20 minutes at my table before I was ever acknowledged by anyone. Finally got my water and chips/salsa after being there for 30 minutes, at that point. Waited a total of 45 minutes for my Michelada. Not a pleasant dine in experience this go.

Food was pretty good. My friend and I both got the #2. The chili relleno was delicious! G was a great waitress. Thank you! It got super busy while we were there and it was just a nice time like a big family. I recommend with 5 stars. The Salsa and chips were great. I enjoyed the frozen margarita. Till next time!
Seated promptly but waited 15min to get our order & drinks. Chips were crispy & hot. Salsa was old. The green salsa for enchiladas needs help. Lemonade not good. Horchata was good. My husband ordered fish & shrimp. He did not like it said it was stail. Im sorry we will not be visiting again.

The food is good but the service is always lacking. The waitress takes your order and drinks. You only see her again, if you are lucky, to bring food or someone else does. Then no one asks about drinks again. Finally, when you are ready to check out, you have to flag down the waitress. Its been like this the past two times Ive been here.

The food was fantastic and the environment was amazing but I want to point out that the Queen of Texas Queen of Tex-Mex music Selena ate at this restaurant. You can see by the picture I posted. Folks I got goosebumps. I normally dont get this way but to know thats such an icon to music and to Texas ate at this restaurant and that I could be drinking from the same cup that she drank from... iblows my mind. Coming back to the review of the food I finished my plate and that says a lot.

For over years now, and is still holding up standards on serving up delicious Tex-Mex dishes from Fajita plates to the many satisfying combination plates and more. Beer on tap, Mecheladas, and amazing chips and salsa. Service is always quick and friendly. Check em out!

They took my order online and then cancelled it a half hour later with no explanation. Website says they are open. This would have been my first time trying this place. I definitely dont intend to order here again.
Fajita steak and shrimp was great just a bit small but the flavor was on point! Our server her name Alex, was working her tail off tending bar waiting all of the tables and never missed a beat! I will be back.
The meat is very tough, the rice and beans tasteless and dry. The prices are high compared to the quality of the food, the waiters pressure you to order. Terrible service, we will not return.

We had a to go order for three people and 1 appetizer. We were missing half of one of the dinner combos, the appetizer was a half order instead of a whole and the food was mediocre at best. We used to really enjoy eating at this restaurant but it seems that the quality and quantity have greatly decreased .

I forget what it is called on the menu, but I essentially had the catfish fajitas. Oh my goodness...I have had all kinds of catfish in my life but never one that can only be called delicately flavored and exquisitely cooked. Needless to say, I am pleasantly surprised and I wholeheartedly recommend this place. Yummm

Had dinner there tonight my food was served lukewarm was told they served charro beans ..but was served cold pinto beans that tasted from a can with cold Pico de Gallo salsa on top...my husband ordered the trio fajitas was partially burned and very very small amount..salsa and chips are good.
Everything was great from the moment we walked in! We were greeted with friendly smiles! Our waitress was great, she was very knowledgeable, and helpful! I really liked how much team work this place had!!! Every employee who walked by asked if we were ok and if they could get us anything! I loved that! Food was great also! Very fast service! We will be returning and we will recommend this place to our friends and family! Thank you for a great 1st Impression!

Went to a birthday party and they set us up in the backroom. There were about 40 people. The staff did an excellent job of making sure everyone had drinks, chips, salsa and queso. The food was set up buffet style. Lot of fun!!
