Dillon's Wood Fired Pizza in Midland

We came in back in August, and had an amazing grilled peach pizza and a pepperoni classic and they were REALLY good. When over I get the chance to come back to Midland I hoping for the peach pizza again

Call before you go to see if theyre open. I cant comment on the food. They dont follow the hours posted on their website or what is seen on Google. Super frustrating. I drove over an hour only to find they were closed at at time their own website said they were open and reservations were not available. The weather was not a factor.

Small pizzas. Overpriced. Very few toppings.

Fantastic resto-pub. Warm and inviting atmosphere. Customer service was excellent. The pizzas were delicious! We will definitely be back next time we are in the area. Kid-friendliness: My two teenagers enjoyed the sports on the large screen

Stumbled upon Dillon s by accident and was impressed by the artistic, fun atmosphere, great service, and incredibly delicious food. The gluten free wood fired pizza options are so good, and they even have a vegan cheese! I got the fun-guy on GF crust and loved every bite. Dietary restrictions: Gluten feee and vegan options.

Fantastic food and service as always. Cant beat those ribs and pizza. The new crispy chicken skins were a nice addition. You wont ever go wrong eating here. Leslie is the best!

Called to make a reservation and was told they do not accept reservations on Sundays. Went to the restaurant, was asked if I had a reservation and was turned away, even though there were open tables inside. We were told there was plenty of space at another restaurant down the street. Recommend you save yourself the trouble and pick a different restaurant in Midland.

Good pizza, but dont expect a classic pizza. Courteous and classic service.

After calling in advance, we arrived and were immediately turned away. We were told they couldn t accommodate us, even though we were willing to split up into 2 or 3 tables, which were available. The managers were extremely rude and dismissive. Worst customer service ever!

Excellent gluten and gluten free pizzas. Hostess was amazing, food delicious. This is a small, local restaurant. Limited seating. We have been here for dinner twice and have been totally impressed with the food and service. Gluten free pizza is exceptional and they are generous with the toppings.

Waitress terrible and did not suggest options at all and discouraged us from ordering the Caesar salad said it was had too much garlic in it and we could not get white sauce on the pizza. And 15$ per drink !! Menu has minimal options unless you want heartburn , too bad we were looking forward to being there . No kids menu either , ordered 3 drinks and rib appetizer and a tiny dish of coleslaw and it was $100, not cool .

Awesome wood-fired pizza and much more. The vibe is great and the service was very attentive and friendly. We have been twice and we have had the same experience both times. Definitely a great spot in Midland. Short walk up the main street from the town dock too, if you re arriving by water.

Pizza is expensive and not good. My wife had stomach problems after eating it. I dont recommend it.

Pizza wasn t perfectly round but such unique crust . Can I make it rounder possibly closer to a circle shape , it s just that I m used to eating round pizzas . Even though I ve seen square and rectangular pizzas I believe deep down that a round pizza should be perfectly round kinda like (pie r squared ) which is used to calculate area of a perfect circle. I could always nibble at the bits beyond what I deem to be the true circle to create the image that I m used to . Vegetarian options: Vega and vegetarian .

Had the Bruschetta Pizza on one visit and the Fun Guy pizza on the second visit -;both delicious however the Bruschetta pizza was better because the crust was cooked to perfection!

My favourites are the Deacon, the New Yorker and the Pesto Chicken. The cheese dip is amazing, Caesar salad is amazing, they do their menu very well!

Wood fired pizza is hands down the very best you ll ever have. However beautiful summer Saturday and management doesn t open patio. Nothing is better than a cold beer, great food, and sitting on a patio. Winter is really long! You may wish to reconsider.

We went in December 2023 and had one of the best experiences I ve ever had at a restaurant. We got to know the type of flour they use for their pizzas and the owner was amazing, such great service and great food. We will be back .probably next Friday.

Delicious as always! Beef Carppaccio appetizer was so good. It is a vibrant and fun spot to eat and be with friends. Even saw members of The Trews here, just before their performance at the Kings Wharf Theatre

What more can I say!! Best place for a dine in, delicious pizza, good music and vibes. We were hosted by Lesley and she was an amazing person. I brought my wife for her birthday here, and they made it so much special. The pizza here is going to blow your mind, and if they have the special dip, do not think twice about getting it. Enjoy!

Dillons place is amazing! Was in town for a gymnastics meet and went to Dillons for supper. We had a group of 8 and everyone was pleased with food and service. Atmosphere was incredible! Right from the moment we entered we felt welcomed and appreciated. Dillon took the time to talk with us and showed us the wood fired pizza oven. Will definitely be back! Vegetarian options: Dillons has lots of vegi options too! Dietary restrictions: They have lots of gf options and a cauliflower crust for pizza.

Took my 33 year old daughter there for her birthday, had made a reservation a week in advance, after finishing our dinner and drinks an hour later, we were having nice conversation and catching up with her, we were approached by the hostess and asked if we could leave as she had customers sitting at the bar wanting a table, I bit my tongue and said nothing, we politely packed up, paid and left (I wish now I said something). Absolutely terrible customer service and for this reason I will never return!!

Amazing atmosphere, exceptional food and great service. The average pizza is about 28-32$. I recommend the Ceasar salad, the ribs and the Hail Ceasar pizza.

So went to have late lunch yesterday and found their website and phone stated they are open for business. Drove a half hour to go and was expecting my friends to meet me there. Sadly they had a very tacky hand written note on the door saying they would not open until 430 pm I suggest they update their website and phone. My friends and I had a wonderful needful meal at a competiting restaurant. There were 6 of us so Dillons lost out I doubt I will go back

This place is small and very intimate. Perfect for a date. The staff here is super friendly. The food is an 11 out of 10 .

waitress/manager was very rude and service was bad due to her horrible attitude and lack of experience of knowing how to deal with patrons. also, there would be no need in contacting them as I already spoke with management and they told me to leave because I was upset when we had mentioned that my friend slipped and hurt herself they didn t want to hear anything about it and told us to leave. Good service, clean little restaurant. Very expensive for the food, and the pizza was so greasy, I had a really hard time eating it. It says it closes at 8 but we were told at 7 to get ready to go. My friends and I definitely think it s just too overpriced for the quality of the food.

Great food and service

We got there right when it opened and got a seat close to the fire, this is what my boy wanted. My son is almost seven and wanted to see how pizza is really made, the guys let him see the fire and the staff was so great with him. We ate every bite of his personalized pizza and look forward to coming back for more.

Restaurant with a revisited Italian atmosphere. The pizzas here are the strangest I have ever tasted. Its quite expensive but very good service and pleasant atmosphere. Be careful it closes early and its a bit noisy

My wife booked us here for New Year s Eve 2 months in advance. Day before new years we were told they have to move our reservation to earlier because they had a special event happening all a sudden..that was sold out. needless to say we didn t go and our new years plans were ruined. Super unfortunate. I just brought up getting dillons take out today. & my wife brought this incident back up. Unfortunately we don t wanna give them business anymore because of how we were treated. I do really enjoy their food. But it s hard to give someone business again after being treated like that.

An incredible experience!! From the time we walked in, till we left . We were greeted at the front door , introduced to the staff, owner and even the people around us .. who does this ?? Only at Dillons !! The appetizers and food was amazing. I have NEVER experienced anything like this . I walked out of there in total awe .. Hats off to Rick Dillon and the staff . Parking: Lots of parking in the area! Apps and Meals and a good bottle of wine included for 2 people. $60 per person ( taxes and gratuity not incl.)

Overhyped. I had high expectations of this place after reading the amazing reviews. We got the ribs and pulled pork pizza. The pizza was delicious and great, we would be for sure returning for the pizza. But the ribs, on the other hand, was a let down. Also, it was so busy and loud in there! Was difficult to talk and hear eachkther without shouting. It is a cute little place but for the amount of people they need a bigger place I think. The service was OK. Yes, the waitress was friendly and kept checking in on us. But it was so rushed and impersonable, understandably so...they are busy so they need to hire more waitresses so they take their time with the customers and not rush through the orders. Ill be ordering a pizza for take out again but for sure wont be dining in again. Parking: Free after 5pm. Sometimes may need to park further away in busy times.

My husband and I went for the first time last night and couldn t believe how cute the place was, how AMAZING the service was and how OUTSTANDING the food was. We live in Toronto but will make the effort to visit again soon!

Ricky is an amazing owner and such a nice guy. He took care of my takeout order even though they were busy. We got the ribs which are by far the best ribs in town. We will definitely be ordering from them again in the near future. Highly recommend.

Terrible pizza. Wood fired has a bit of char, it should not be burnt. Burnt to the point your fingers turn black. Inedible crust. Mostly flavorless pizza with mozza not properly melted, toppings slid off the crust when we picked it up. Midland wake up!

Called in advance to ask if patio dog friendly ... after yes response we arrived ... no other outside guests ... we were shown to one table only for people with dogs ... PROBLEM - we were 3 people and 1 dog wanting lunch ... the table was only about 20 high and around...and only 2 chairs ... waitress said it was up to us if it didnt suit our needs and left ... there were 5 other outside tables some with 3 and or 4 chairs and proper height and size tables ... needless to say we left and will never return ...

We were fortunate to get a seat on the patio during the recent Butter Tart Festival. The food and service at Dillons was fantastic! Everything came out quickly and tasted great. Will definitely stop by the next time we are in town.

We were from out of town and didnt realize how busy this place would be on a Thursday. The owner greeted us, and said that he hates to turn kids away (we have a 4 year old). He got us a spot at the bar, started our daughter with a free chocolate milk, and gave us his recommendations for kid-friendly dishes. The food was spectacular. Very authentic Italian-style pizza. He even had the kitchen make our daughter an ice cream sundae (not on the menu). Highly recommend for anyone who likes pizza.

The pizza is devine, salads are incredible and the ribs are other worldly. Best pizza and ribs north of everywhere!

Within 5 minutes of sitting down we had drinks on our table and food ordered. The service was extremely quick and friendly. The food was delicious but on the slightly more expensive side, just over $30 per pizza.

We are always in midland ..my boyfriends family cottage is in Tiny township...we decided to treat ourselves and not cook. He has always been wanting to go ...they did not disappoint First off the place is super cute .love the look and vibe Server was extremely friendly,funny and helpful. We got the New York pizza minus sausage added olives ...it was perfect . Great crust We also got the Cesar and caprese salad. Both great . Just needed a wedge if lemon to take the Cesar up a knotch..wine was great and good beer selection Definitely coming back to try more !

Always an excellent experience. Pizza is fabulous. We usually go when visiting friends who live in Penetanguishene. Call a few days ahead to book a table; you ll not likely get one for dinner walking in.

Amazing service and amazing food. The staff were incredibly responsive to an allergy concern and they were able to accommodate it very safely. We are not from the area but will definitely be back next time we are in the area. 5 Dietary restrictions: Accommodated a peanut allergy with no problem at all. They have lots of classic woodfire pizzas, but you should try something weird here. We got a woodfire pizza with peaches, honey, caramelized onions, and sausage with a blue cheese sauce. It seemed too out there not to try and it was amazing. You know a pizza is good when the plain crust is delicious. They have great dips too! This place isnt cheap, but a worthwhile treat if youre in town!

Tried to come here for dinner with my family but as my husband was asking to order they politely asked him if he needed the bathroom, when he said no Id like to order some pizza she told him he would probably prefer mamas and papas pizza down the street. Wont be recommending as didnt even get a chance to try !!!

They tell me Im not from Midland and to go to papas pizza up near the homeless shelter cause the pizza isnt good enough for me I live in Midland and u cant tell me what pizza to get lmfao

Oh my gosh. The food is absolutely divine. So good. The Ceasars salad is so yummy. Garlic is heavy which I love. I had a pizza as my main meal. I could not finish it all. So delicious and reheated well the next day. I highly recommend. You need to book a reservation.

Very small restaurant so make reservations. Service was excellent (the owners actually served us). The appetizers (Cesar salad and beet salad) were fresh and excellent flavor. The pizzas were served hot and fresh. The word for as an amazing flavor. When we come back to town again we will be back!! Vegetarian options: All the pizzas can be accommodated...

The music is not pizza atmosphere(LOUD!!). More a hip hop night club. BOM BOM . NOT the REGULAR server & pizza maker. The pizza was not crusted on the bottom-raw -white bottom) stone backed pizza takes approx 5 mins to make? Correct in a hot fire ..I have eaten this pizza for years and frankly this was the WORST. Also update your WEBSITE to reflect your hours of service.. Website said until Open 11:30 am to 8p.m. Pizza maker guy left at 2:15pm. The waitress said we had to read the sign on the door. It says it closes 3p.m.- 4 p.m?? We asked for another pizza at 2:30 P.m. . not impressed & will not be back.

The Tuscan pizza was hands-down the best pizza I ever had! And Im not a huge fan of pizza so if youre ever in the area, you wont be disappointed! I personally cant wait to return!

Came here for a night away as we live in Stratford. Its a 3.5 hour drive. The food was AMAZING and service was top notch! Our waitress was Paula! She was very outgoing and professional! We told her we were getting married in 2 days and she wrote congratulations message on our take home box. Definitely will be returning! It was quite busy and we did not have a reservation... but they fit us in! Make a reservation you wont be disappointed! We will definitely be back!

Upon arrival we were met by the owner Ricky and he went through the all the menu options. The restaurant was clean and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The Caesar salad was to die for and the pizza was the best we have ever had. This is wood fired pizza made with top quality ingredients. They as well offer wood fired ribs that we will try for sure the next visit there. We were both too full for desert or one of their special coffees but all looked amazing. Everything is made fresh in house. There is a pride of ownership at this restaurant which is displayed by all that work there as well as the owner. The restaurant is small so I would recommend making a reservation. The prices were very reasonable considering the quality of the food. We will be sure to return many more times. Trevor and Donna

We were celebrating a milestone birthday and had been recommended Dillon s for a nice evening - We couldn t have had a better night anywhere else, the food was INCREDIBLE and the service was the best we ve ever had. Having spent 8 years in the restaurant industry previously, I am in awe of the special effort and attention we were lucky enough to receive from the wonderful and fun staff. Thank you very much to the team at Dillon s for a memorable night.

Always have a great evening out when at Dillion s, especially on an evening when there is live music! Only downside is that it s such a small place so definitely make a reservation. Kid-friendliness: Everyone welcome, probably even your fur baby if needed and behaved.

We ordered the deacon pizza, ribs and the king Cole duck legs. The flavours of the duck and chutney were incredibly well done. The ribs were amazing as usual, and the deacon pizza was just perfection. It was the most amazing takeout dinner I ve ever had. Best pizza place from here to the city.

This place has a small dining room that caused me some concern when we first walked in as the tables are fairly close together, but the service we received from the amazing staff soon put that concern aside. Then on came the food... wow. Absolutely amazing. We are originally from Sault Ste Marie, the city known for Italian food, but I must say... this was the best pizza Ive ever eaten. We will definitely be back!

Sorry, been twice for sit down, once for take out, none of which were satisfying experiences! The $50.00 pick up which floored us especially when we opened the containers! Chicken pasta that we had to add several seasonings to make the small amount more palatable and four well sized tasty meatballs that were too dry because of the lack of sauce that should have accompanied the dish! We gave you a good try but youre not for us, wish you well as you do have supporters!

My friend and I ordered the margarita pizza to share! It was delivered to our table and recommended we put olive oil and sea salt on our plate and set the pizza on top. We used utensils to eat it. It was pure joy. Every bite was delicious. Crust sauce cheese basil were perfect. Great service as well and other happy customers around us! Great experience.

It really is incredible that a new pizza joint opens in Midland almost bi-annually at this point, but one that has persevered and cemented it s position within the town is Dillons. If you want a premium pizza this is the place for you. Their thin crust, Neapolitan style pizza is to die for and the service you ll get when you order is unmatched in town. Everyone at Dillons is kind and welcoming. While I ve yet to eat in-house their take out has always been great and I ll definitely be ordering again soon. Also, their patio in the Summer, situated beneath some really pretty trees downtown looked beautiful last year and I hope it returns this summer.

Ordered a Margherita Pizza for pickup. I was surprised how quickly it was ready. I arrived at the restaurant. The staff was very friendly, very pleasant. I was excited because I heard and read great reviews. When I arrived home I was so disappointed. I think they ran out of basil and tomato. It was all cheese. Not much flavour at all, and it was too small for what I paid. Maybe I will give it another try...I do believe in giving a restaurant a second try. April 2022. I Just wanted to update my review. I accepted Rickys offer to go into Dillons. I had a complimentary Margherita Pizza. It was soooo good. Karen was so professional, and the atmosphere was so comfortable. The restaurant filled up quickly during the lunch hour. I will recommend Dillons. Im grateful Ricky gave me the opportunity to give the restaurant a second chance. I will be going back !

We showed up when it wasnt busy. Two customers indoor, patio empty. We asked if we could sit in patio with our dog. They said no. We were disappointed. Im sure the food is good, but we never got to try it.

Like the old saying you pay for what you get pricy but amazing, worth every penny. Ricky and his crew will be sure to treat you well. While you are there try the ribs if they are available, what a treat. Thanks for making our many experiences at your restaurant memorable for a foodie.

Wow, this is incredible pizza and the salads are too good to be salads! We ordered take out but it s a nice spot inside, friendly staff, and did I mention the pizza!

Friendly, fun staff and a perfectly sized menu with vegetarian options. I love the pizza but Id recommend asking for it to be cooked a few minutes longer--wood-fired pizza tastes best for me smoking hot and ever-so-slightly charred.

We are SO lucky to have this incredible restaurant in our small town! We stopped in on Saturday looking for a quick bite to eat with a cocktail and they did not disappoint. They found a space for us at a lovely little bistro table on the sidewalk (during their very busy time getting ready for the evening rush) and we had no less than four or five different employees stopping by to make sure we were enjoying ourselves .all this in a very short time because I think they brought us our pizza in less than ten minutes lol! The pizza was amazing .my husband had a Caesar and I tried my first Gimlet - incredible bartender. Love love LOVE this place and we will be back!

They made accommodations for us even when they were packed and busy. The food is delicious and the service is amazing. Highly recommend this place for any one visiting midland and looking for a wonderful dining experience. Just make sure to call ahead and make reservations as the restaurant is small and high in demand.

Super tasty, gourmet REAL pizza. They use high quality fresh ingredients and everything on the menu is amazing. The staff and owners are beyond friendly and pleasant to talk to. The restaurant is super clean with a great atmosphere. They always try to make room for people as its a small restaurant. I would definitely recommend going here for some awesome food.

Food, service and prices are good. Seems like the pizzas are getting a little smaller. Perhaps its my imagination?

Food was good, missing pancetta in the Caesar salad and in the pizza. Could have just said they were out and offered an alternative but instead insisted that it was hidden .

Great dinner on the patio. We shared a caesar salad to start. It was delicious but you need to really love garlic! Then we also shared an amazing pizza. Perfect crust, especially when dipped in the lovely EVOO that was supplied. Waitress was also excellent and added to the pleasure of the evening.

We were told all is reserved on Wednesday 6:30? I counted 3 empty tables and 12 spots to sit and eat. Those reserved looking tables were empty on our way back. If you really wanted us there you would take our phone# and text us if people did not show up? There are other places to eat. You lost 300$ from us.

Decided to treat myself and get a take-out pizza as they don t allow dogs on the patio and I was travelling with mine. Their phone message stated they don t answer the phone and would return calls. It was about 1 and half hours before closing so I drove down to order. When I got there I was told they weren t taking take out orders although it s on their website. Waste of my time poor customer service. Guess they re making enough money so they don t need mine.

Dillons was fantastic in every sense of the word. It was recommended to us by a family member and we attended on a long weekend, sitting inside. The restaurant is beautiful with a vintage, European feel to it. The menu is great, featuring salads and, of course, pizza. Our meal was prepared quickly, and the service was terrific. The pizza was delicious, and we were satisfied. If youre ever in Midland, check out Dillons - you have to!

Unfortunately, I have to give Dillons only 2 stars. I ve been there to dine in twice now. First time was for lunch and we were asked to leave because people were waiting to be seated. I hadn t even received my drink yet! The second time I made reservations for two for a dinner date. We were done eating but had split a bottle of wine and hadn t finished that yet. I get that it s a busy spot and they lack space but twice as a paying customer I ve been asked to leave to free up a table. I d understand if we were just sitting there chatting or if we were just drinking water. But to be asked to leave when I hadn t even yet received my order or was not yet finished is such a turn off. We won t be returning unfortunately.

Best pizza and Caesar ever

If youre in Midland and hungry then this is a must-go destination (but reservations are essential). Awesome food and hopping atmosphere with a super engaging host that ensures you are more than satisfied. Although the menu may appear limited everything is delicious :). NOTE: The wood fired bbq ribs are an absolute must!

This place is a pearl! My husband and I just moved to Midland and we thought we d try Dillons. Well THAT was a great idea! From the minute we walked in the door we were made to feel very welcome. Leslie was our server and she was fantastic and made our evening most enjoyable from suggestions of items to try on the menu to chatting us up with her great sense of humour. We could only get a seat at the bar but what a treat to be able to watch all the goings on in the bar and kitchen. The staff made everything look so easy, even though the place was very busy all were extremely attentive. We also met the owner Ricky who made us feel very welcome. Huge kudos to the chefs as well. We ll definitely go back. Thanks Ricky and staff for a great first time at your restaurant. P.S. Pizzas, ribs, salads all superb. You can t go wrong with anything you order.

We can not say enough about the wonderful dining experience we had here. You are greeted immediately with such graciousness you feel as though you have entered someone s home. The service was 5 star. The food was just superb. The cocktails were exceptional. We can not recommend this restaurant enough.

We had such a wonderful time at Dillons! The delicious food (if you like ribs, get them!), unique and tasty beverages, incredibly friendly service and cozy atmosphere all made for such a lovely evening. I highly recommend trying Dillons if you are in the Midland area. Treat yourself, youll be glad you did!

Wow.. just wow! The food was amazing , I traveled threw Europe a couple years ago and I have been craving the pizza again like mad lol ! So we gave Dillons a try and just wow!!! The food is just like going to Italy ! The atmosphere is like your around one big family! The service was AMAZING ! Thank you for such a great experience and such an amazing meal !

Finally got to check this place out after talking about going for awhile now and wow am I disappointed in myself for not going sooner! The food was amazing we got pizza and the spinach dip which was the best spinach dip Ive ever had! I also got the loaded bacon potato soup for my lunch the next day and even re-heated it was fire! The service was top notch as well! Thank you for the great experience and we will definitely be back soon!
