I ve heard the food is good but who knows. I ve been by there 6 different times and the doors were locked. Odd hours. If you say you re open unlock your doors. I shouldn t have to wait to give you money. Your food may be good but your service sucks.

It seams like every time I try to go they are closed. Even when the posted hours and sign on the door say they are open.

I drove a long way to pick up my food I was heading back to location when I arrived I realized my order was wrong. By this time restaurant was closed. So I notified them the next day when they opened, let them know that my order was wrong. I was then told they assumed I wanted chicken. Im a pescatarian and I notified them of this. I was told that its nothing they could do. I was told rudely I would have to pay for a new order again. I let them know this was unfair and i would post a review about this, I was told thats totally fine. So I let my employees know and will also share this incident with other associates. The order was only $23.00 so clearly its not about the money because I asked if they could give me the correct order. As a business owner I believe in doing good business and the way I was handled was nor professional or good business. Im very disappointed

This place was wonderful up until about 10-12 yrs ago. They inspired me to do a lot more at home cooking and research into Asian dishes. At one point they had 2 locations and both served wonderfull l food. The north side location closed and the south side went down hill quick. I dont know what happened, but Im sure they stayed opened due to the down town proximity and the lack of options. I still drop by once in a while and Im continually (increasingly) disappointed.

Great little Thai restaurant, I love the pineapple fried rice. They have a very good hot and sour soup, I really cant say that I have ever gotten anything bad from here.

Weve been going to King & I for years and the food is fantastic... ... if you ever get it. We visited last week, ordered meals and appetizers and the appetizer arrived after about 25 minutes. The meals - never. The staff was very busy filling call in orders and completely ignored our entree. After a little over an hour, I asked for the ticket and they asked if I wanted our entree to go. I informed them Im out of time to eat now and that a not many people want a cold meal unless its ice cream or salad. The way Ive handled this in the past working in restaurants is that dine in guests get a red ticket. Those patrons are kind enough to visit in person and get served first. Call-in orders are handled in the order they are received and as-able once the dine-in guests are served. Unfortunately they have shown us where they stand on long time patrons and we will have to find another place to go.

Best Thai food!!!! 10 plus plus stars!!! Fresh and Consistent. Family owned and operated! If you havent tried it, it is a must!! I recommend getting there at 11 as it tends to get pretty packed from about 11:30-12:45. Definitely give the green chili eggroll with spicy mustard for an appetizer a try and for an entree, you simply can NOT go wrong!! Spicy Thai beef(my fav), Pad Thai, lettuce wraps, fried rice, soups.. ect all are amazing!!!

Great vegan options but on the expensive side

Great food. All Thai places I ve ever been to have been drastically different from that last. This one is no different in that aspect. It is very good though. We have not had anything that disappointed us. If you ve seen it and are curious go ahead! You ll like it.

This place use to have amazing food, I ordered the Shirleys Special from the Popcorn menu and a small Wonton soup. Shirleys Special was bland and no flavor, I had to add soy sauce and chili sauce and then it was ok. The portion size was good, but again couldnt taste the authentic glavor of Thai Chili Sauce, Im use to. The wonton soup broth and the four tiny pieces of pork were good but the wontons themselves were just layers of wonton wrapper stuck together, Ive had wonton soup in a variety of places and have never seen wontons like this before, not impressed. Not sure if other items on the menu are bland and tasteless, I hope not cause this place was a go to place in Midland, Im not sure Ill be returning

Traveled to Midland to try this Thai spot for dinner. Unfortunately, indoor seating is closed at dinner time. Went through drive through to order after we ordered we we asked to pull up so the next person can pick up their order. Basically, we had to pull out of the restaurant and drive back around into the parking lot and thru the drive thru again. We got our order and she said everything was in there with extra sauces as well. We drove off to the park to eat and there we no utensils so we drive back to the location to grab some. We paid $45 for 2 plates and 2 drinks. We both had the Kee Mao and for the most part it was ok. Lacked flavor and shrimp was overcooked. Not the best experience. The outside of the restaurant was a bit cringy and dirty.

Haven t been here in a while just cause I could never catch it open no one would ever answer the phone and the voicemail on there is from January ordered that pate today and it definitely does not taste the same as it used to perhaps they have a new cook in the back and they don t quite know how to cook pad Thai very disappointed in it today I drive 25 minutes to eat their food and it wasn t what it used to be Noodles are very pale can t taste the pottas seasonings just very dry noodles not happy at all hope they read all reviews and make some changes In the kitchen

Popcorn runs the most delicious Asian cuisine Hotspot in the West . . . not to mention that each dish is a healthy plate/bowl of goodness! Vegetarian options: Food as Medicine... Eat the RAINBOW ! Delicious food for Health & Wellness.

Their take out system is not friendly. If you call tgey dont answer as well. We have to wait until their delivery window is free of customers. There must be a system of pick up like chipotle does!!

Not the best experience. The Rice dish we ordered tasted like they used old rice and the chicken was hard as a rock. The rice dish and noodle dish lacked flavor and extremely over price for the two dishes we ordered. The spring rolls we ordered came in a Brown paper bag covered in grease not the most appetizing thing to order not to mention everything came in Styrofoam. It s 2022 restaurants dont use styrofoam for takeout food and drink containers anymore. Most states in the US have bans to eliminate the use of styrofoam containers. I hope in the future King & I will choose Alternatives to Styrofoam Food Containers and start to make a better food experience for your customers.

Have been here twice no notifications of no indoor dining. Cars driving off your property one by one due to no notifications on door, won t answer the phone website and FB has not been updated just poor communication all the way around. Will not return due to dissatisfaction. Big disappointment for your former loyal customers.

Have been going here for years and the service/food has went downhill. The spring rolls the past two times we ordered were rotten. The sister or sister in law to the owner has the absolute worst attitude and definetly ran off a loyal customer.

Of course, I got there around 1120 and already super busy. Got a table service was quick because already knew what I wanted. Pad kee mao combo. Came out hot and of course fresh. I was sad because they no longer carry the red chili paste. That was my go to for this dish. But I understand the time now. Regardless, great lunch in an out an even had left overs!

I used to live in Midland and make sure to eat here when I visit. I love the food! Especially the pineapple fried rice!! I ran into old friends while there who were enjoying their dinner. I can t wait to come back! I ve been eating at King And I for 20 years! They have just recently reopened for dinner, so go see them.

This is the best place in Midland or Odessa to get authenic Thai food (or Asian in general). Their green chicken curry is so good, and bested only by curry I had while in Bangkok. I also had the pork pad thai, tom yum guum, egg drop, and stick rice w/mango. All were great and tasty, tho I would prolly get chicken instead of pork next time. You def have to check this place out if you havent. It should be considered a local treasure :>

Not happy. Ordered online. Picked up order and asked for extra chips with our soup. The lady told us they didn t have anymore so there weren t any in our bag at all. She waited until we asked to tell us there were no more chips. We picked up our order at 7:00 pm. No chips at that time? Also got home and all of our soups were half full. Never again will I order from this restaurant because it s expensive and past experiences say no quality. Expensive and no quality or service. Never again. It seems midland restaurants have give up. You would think they would want to keep customers nowadays?

WONDERFUL! Cozy atmosphere, friendly service & DELICIOUS food! Siam Pad Thai, outstanding! Yellow Curry, best in west Texas & Marathon bowl is spot on, especially for the health conscious. Was having a birthday dinner and asked if we could bring a cake before as a surprise, they were so accommodating and helpful! ABSOLUTELY go to King and I, you can thank me later!

I used to love this place and was a regular customer. The last time I went I ordered cheese rolls and when I got home I found a hair embedded in the roll. It was so gross so I had to drive back all the way back. I told the lady and she remade them, with an attitude. I asked if I could get a drink while I waited and she tried to charge me. I just drove off. What horrible customer service after having found a disgusting hair in my food. I would have offered a refund if this happened at my establishment. Never going back again.

King and I is definitely another staple Midland Tx has to offer. The food is always fresh and cooked to order. You cant go wrong with any of the amazing Thai dishes they have to offer. I recommend the Spicy Fish, or the try out any of their Fit Dishes.

I believe they are closed down. We went during their regular hours but they were closed. I called the posted number on the door and on google maps, but it just rang and rang. Just eat elsewhere. We did.

They refused service at 1:45 pm.

My favorite place to eat in all of Midland since I was about 10 years old. I always get the chicken chow mien noodles and the wontons are amazing. I m in the Army now and every time I visit Midland I make sure to stop by at my favorite restaurant. My whole family honestly loves this place!

A Midland gem. Been coming here for years. The food is fantastic. So many healthy and diet focused meals. Small inside with limited seating. They offer take out and they have a pick up window. They close in the middle of the afternoon for a few hours so check the hours.

Sadly I got the chicken satay yesterday and as I took a bite of the food it tasted odd. I took a second bite and got a smell of wet dog. It saddens me as I am pregnant and could have been very sick with the chicken which I could tell was a few days old. Please keep food in fridge stored the days it s suppose to not any longer.

This place is not what it looks like from the outside. Service was great and the food was even better. If you go get there early it gets busy quick.

Walked up to the door at 2:42pm, for a takeout soup. They locked the door right when I walked up. I knocked without a response. This is poor character and bad business practices. If you close at 3:00 that s when you lock up. STEER CLEAR. This place has rats running around the back in broad daylight because food trash is piles up in the open.

Not real Thia food, poor attempt to make plain Chinese buffet into Thia food, over priced, small portions, going to try Odessa, never again, vietnamese at least has flavor.

Good food and drinks with good service and as always it s CASH businesses. I try to eat there back in June and July or 2019 after 5:00pm on weekends but they are always closed. Did they go out of business? I hope not great place to eat.

The soup doesnt taste good. The pork satay very small quantity is dry and not much favor but cost 15 dollars. The summer rolls are horrible. The skin is hard and the noodle inside is hard too. The meal cost me 65 dollars. Such a waste. Never will go back again.

Wonderful little spot to eat. Id love to give a full rundown of all the food but I almost always end up getting either the chicken pad thai or the red curry. Everything Ive ever had is awesome. Open for lunch and dinner during the week and dinner on Saturdays.

I ve ordered from King & I before with success. I enjoyed my food. As of today, I m less than pleased. I checked their information on Google to make sure they were in fact open (modified hours and such due to global pandemic) and placed my order via Delivery.com. Learned nearly 2 hours later, they are Not Open, even though the sign on their door and drive thru posted the appropriate hours. If your business is going to use delivery services, please follow up if you are going to be closed. I just wasted money on an order that will clearly not be filled.

I had the sesame chicken but was sadly disappointed. I had high hopes for this place. My biggest disappointment is that they use regular enriched white rice not jasmine rice as Ive come to expect from most Asian restaurants Ive been to. Also my food was greasy. I dont know about the other dishes but I myself will not be back.

The food was decent. I was served food with rotten vegetables. I didnt think it was a big deal because it tasted okay. Later on when I got home I got a really bad stomach ache for hours! I was denied a refund. At this point I dont want to eat somewhere that doesnt care about their customer service. It was not a good experience. The owner was so rude about this situation.

When my husband & I lived in Midland we would order at least once a week! The food was that great. One of the best restaurants in Midland period! I happened to be in Midland & wanted to surprise my husband dinner from King & I. Sadly, we both were surprised it was bland & noodles & brown rice tasted different?? Just completely disappointed. Portions are still generous but unfortunately not necessary since we will not eat it...not sure what happened? Is Popcorn still there?

This place has had very vacillating quality over the past couple of decades. Today was probably among the worst visits there ever. The service was pretty bad and the food quality was very lacking. I would probably say they should call this place a restaurant with dishes inspired by thai food vs calling it a thai food restaurant.

Ive been going here for over 15 years, and it is better than it has ever been. Theyve had ups and downs, and the building is terrible, but the food is delicious and I LOVE that they have so many healthy options. They also use grass fed beef.

Love the Thai food and small restaurant

Ordered a shrimp noodle plate and 1 egg roll, totaling $18 and only received 4 shrimp. I received the wrong noodles so I told them what happened, and asked for just the noodles instead of having to redo the entire plate. When the lady gave me the noodles she charged an additional 3.49. I was so frustrated I just paid and left.

This restaurant is always a great choice when downtown. The food is consistently delicious. Its not fancy but its fast and a great option to get in and out on lunch hour for those who work downtown. My favorite is Popcorns special.

First time customer who will not return. Was truly disappointed in the food. Honestly if the food is worth it I will deal with long waits and not great customer service. Was really excited to try this place. Ordered several things so I could get a sense of the food. Try not to judge a place on one dish alone. All of the dishes were not well prepared. On top of that the staff was being inappropriate. A business should have some level of professionalism.

My FAVORITE dish is the Sew-Ew! I like spicy food so I ask for it to be made spicy. The last time I had Thai food this amazing was in New York City! This place is AMAZING!!! If your looking for legit Thai food that taste great, this is the place to go!! I would give a 10 star if I could!

I use to love coming here, I remember when I first came, the customer service was top-notch. Popcorn introduced himself to my family & I, and made me the Chicken Kee Mao, our family enjoyed the experience. Popcorn specifically told me that since I enjoyed his dish so much, that I could always ask him to cook it for me and he would. I was thrilled to hear that and I thought that that was great customer service since he was so nice to my family and I. As time went by, I also started eating the Popcorn Special, and I would come, and ask popcorn to do my dish and he would. Lately, when I would come,.or if he was not there, I would let other staff cook it for me, but the flavor was not there. Very bland! So I would wait until Popcorn was there, and I would just request him to fix it. I did not want to stop eating there due to his staff not fixing the food good. Earlier in the week I called, asked if Popcorn was there, they said yes, and I asked if he would be able to fix the dish for me, and the lady with the glasses said that he would, and that it would be 30 min. When I went in to get my food it was a different story. Popcorns wife was rude, and told me that he would not be fixing the food for me today, and I did not understand why since I was told that he would. Eventually, I asked popcorn myself in a polite way,.and he looked at me and said that he would not be cooking my dish today and turned around rudely. SMH.. So I politely canceled my order and walked out of this establishment. I will never return here to eat again!

We have come to this place a few years ago in the food was decent. We dont have many options here in Odessa/Midland. I got pad Thai this time and it was served with thin rice noodles instead of wide egg noodles and it had no flavor. I got the duck on it and it was pretty much all fatty skin. I got hot and sour soup which I usually love and it was nothing but black pepper. I couldnt eat any of my food. My husband got yellow curry and he said it was just so-so. When we finally got the server to come over she asked how everything was and I said I didnt like it at all and she just ignored me gave me a small to-go container because they didnt have bigger ones and I couldnt even fit my food into it and we left. the food tasted horrible and the service was not great. I will never come back here again.

The food is fantastic, the menu is extensive and so far I have not found one item I am not willing to try again. It is not your typical Asian food restaurant, I have not found the same food recipes elsewhere. The iced-tea could be improved by adding more time to the brew, my only complain, but it is not bad either. There has been some reviews complaining about the stuff but I have never been disappointed with the service. It is a small restaurant and very few employees, do not expect the wait stuff to be on your table every 2 minutes but they will take care of you as needed. There are other Asian food places in Midland and Odessa but this is my favorite place. I have invited friends to try them and they all have had a good experience with the food. Saturday nights is our favorite time to dine in this place.
