I eat here maybe once a month. Always pleased with the food served. Last vist, I got bacon that was overdone. I barely mentioned it and received new bacon promptly. I loved the breakfasts and their lunches. I'm quite fond of the Patty Melt. The food is consistent. Servers have always been prompted and friendly. The atmosphere is unique. You will see.
One of the coolest (and slightly eccentric) little breakfast spots I've ever been to! Food was fast, delicious and portions were ample. The decor in here is just awesome! All kinds of unique trinkets on the walls (and even on the restroom walls!) that you could spend a couple of hours looking at. If you're in this area, skip the chains (hey, I like "I-Hop" and "D-ennys" too...!) and give this place a try. You won't be sorry. 🥞🥞🥞
We eat here A LOT!! We do take out and dine in. Good food, Good service and GREAT people. A cute little Cafe with lots of collectables and history. So many things to look at and purchase if you see something you like. Everything is for sale is this little Cafe. There are some thing you cant find anywhere else. If you haven't had the chance to experience it, it's a must. This is the place where the town people gather for good conversation, coffee and food in the mornings. It's a great place to get your morning started.
Stopped here for the 1st time. Had an amazing breakfast. Food and service was great. Our waitress was very friendly and the atmosphere is really cute. I will definitely be going back.
Great small town breakfast stop. Biscuits and gravy were good, beignets were excellent and the service was superb.
The food was not too bad and was pretty much on par with most breakfast places. The atmosphere was on par with a normal little diner. The best thing was the service, the two hostesses we're really great. I would choose to eat here again where I traveling through Milliken in the morning again.
Absolutely love this breakfast spot! Simple and delicious menu - hits all the right options of savory and sweet! But more than that, the staff is so friendly and fun! It was my first time there and i was so welcomed and engaged! Also it’s a try right shop, so hellllo, so you can eat and shop for fun knickknacks at the same time! Highly recommend, this place is delicious and delightful!
Update: I did not take the credit offered but decided to give them another chance order out and I can say happily they have returned to form. I've ordered out twice and got the quality I expected from dining in both times. I am happy I have a good breakfast spot once again. If you dine in expect an amazing experience if you order out your nothing to them. This is twice I've ordered out and both time have been awful. 30 bucks to get this. It's an absolute shame because the food is amazing when you go in and sit down.
The service and staff is what sets this place apart. Amy is the best! Only sit down classic breakfast place around and the food is good for breakfast .
Great breakfast burritos, great service and fair price.
I love this hole in the wall restaurant! Tim and the staff have always been kind to me and the food isnt bad either.
My wife and I stopped in for a late breakfast. Service and food were excellent. Prices are as good or lower than most area restaurants
The food is so good!
Amy is always an amazing host and incredibly accommodating. I would highly recommend if you are in the area for a good breakfast place to check it out.
We always pass through Milliken but finally decided to stop. Wow what a great spot! Food, pricing and service were great. We ll be back
Good food, like I expected from a cafe like this. Always look forward to this kind of atmosphere too.
Cute place, good service, food came fast, decent prices.
Tim killed it with burritos this morning ! Thank you cracked egg amazing as always!
My favorite place to eat in Milliken!! Brunch today was great and the service, AWESOME as always!
The service was impeccable from start to finish. Our server was gracious and accommodating, ensuring every aspect of our dining experience was perfect. We would come back just for the service and food as it is very good if you like spicy ask for the habanero sauce. Discover a world of flavors, one bite at a time at this hidden gem. Mike aka the inspector
My brunch was great and the service was better! Amy really makes your stay welcoming. I will go back again and again!
Gross disgusting food. They couldnt even melt the cheese in a ham and cheese omlette
We found this little gem of a restaurant while passing through and it was beyond our expectations .Our waitress was so kind and everyone knew each other .It was a small town feeling , the food was beyond amazing. We had a breakfast burrito with bacon and hot green chile . Pancakes (they were big so have a good appetite ) and dont even get me started on the beignets are Soo good we have never tried them and yes 100% I recommend this place .
I may have reviewed this gem before but its worth a reminder. This is a quirky diner/thrift shop off the main drag in Milliken. It has good traffic but seating has never been an issue. The staff remembers us each time we visit (6 or so times a year) and the food is high on our Diner scale. Good value and you might find a bargain purchase while youre there...we have.
Delicious food in a homey atmosphere.
Well this is only the second time I ve been there but was disappointed service was nice but she never came back to ask if food was ok, it was not very good was all thrown together and just not looking great and the prices are way to high seriously it was 37$ for two of us just breakfast so I m not sure if I will go back maybe it s time to find a new place and drive just a little further
Amy was fabulous and made my first time turn into a daily routine while my hubby and I were moving. The hollendaise is delicious, eggs are perfect, and everything is made quickly with care. While a small place, dont let it fool you, you cant go wrong with their benedicts or French toast! Edit: Also, dont forget to order their beignets! They are out of this world and are a must!
My 6 year old said I would rate my food a 10 out of 10! Enough Said! :)
We used to eat here more often. Now, its a cpl of times a year. Kids like the cini minis. Last cpl times, our cini minis have been burnt.
If I could rate this ten stars, I would. The cutest restaurant and the sweetest people work here. There was a mix-up with the phone lines, and they were really great about it. The food was fast and delicious, I loved the biscuits and gravy. The owner even gave us free energy drinks for the mix-up, which is incredibly nice of him. Were definitely going to keep coming back.
Really sick of ordering, paying for and driving home with my food, only to bite into it and find the ONE thing I asked to please be subbed out, NOT subbed out. How hard is it to TAKE OUT THE EGG? Let me tell you, NOT hard at all AND it saves you money - You just have to listen. I m done supporting this place!
very nice place, 1 family restaurant, different from what one is used to
Small town main street mom and pop feel. Filled with locals. Greeted as you walk through the door. Friendly service and delicious burrito.
This place is good, food was good and service was wonderful. If you re looking for good food this is the place to go to!
Phenomenal service, I felt welcomed from the moment I walked in. I ordered the Longhorn, the beef patty was phenomenal and the half and half hot/mild chili sauce was tasty as well. The other toppings were underwhelming but it still made for a very tasty lunch. I d come back for sure. Dietary restrictions: My friend ordered gluten free with no issues
Joey is the best waiter in the world. Not only did he successfully upsell me on the 4 1/2 egg special, he personally made sure I got to my car and made it home safe. Now THAT is customer service. Not to mention he was willing to go to the store just to get pig milk for my coffee above and beyond service has guaranteed me as a life long customer!
It reminds me of the old mom and pop shop.
Really cute way of creating a restaurant and garage sale. Our server was great!
Just ate at the cracked egg one of my sausages was really overcooked on 1 side and undercooked on the other 1 of my eggs was almost scrambled and I asked for it over easy !!!
It is one of my favorite breakfast places to eat at west of I-25 & US 34 corridor. Solid breakfast samples. I just never feel disappointed for my first meal of the day. All their food is great!
Quaint location with homestyle food and pleasant service. Will definitely be going back to try their lunch meals. Its much better than any large franchise eatery.
Love the breakfast burritos!!
Best Breakfast place Hometown style
Love the huevos rancheros and the salsa :) A great breakfast joint to have in town!
I got a breakfast burrito to-go. Chatted with the friendly staff and looked at the vintage collectibles throughout the Cafe. The burrito was very tasty and their green chili is out of this world! Ill be back!
Great food and service for a fair price!
Brought my friends for breakfast before taking them to the airport and it was a great way to end their trip. We had a great time and the food was AMAZING! They have options for everyone and it is yummy everytime.
Im so glad cracked egg is back open! We havent been able to come by for a while, but we decided to go for it today, and the food was fantastic! And my husband ordered hash browns, extra crispy...hes really picky too, and he said they were delicious! Our go to place for breakfast when we dont want to cook!
For the small town... its decent. However their sausage gravy is beyond horrible. Like package store bought gross. How hard is it to make a true gravy from scratch? I will be back but definitely not ordering anything with the gravy Wheelchair accessibility: Not very accessible for the handicap
very cute place wonderful service!!
Great green chilli and service. Fun place with built in thrift store.
Yummy food, friendly staff, easy to get a table with no wait, parking. Great little place!
Whoever made and sold my omelette at 906 this morning will be accepted into Valhalla with a peaceful death just because the Gods themselves couldn t sling an omelette that good
I m really confused as to why people like this place, I guess typical Milliken. They use American cheese and their main area is pretty unsanitary. I m from Texas so I know my way around a breakfast burrito and this place s had no flavor whatsoever. The American cheese was nasty and cheap too. There s better breakfast places around, I d skip this place.
This is such a nice little mom and pop Cafe. The food brings me back to my early years when my great grandma would cook breakfast for the whole family. Plus, you can look at some antiques while you wait for your food. So many cool things to look at. The service is great as well. Make sure to get there before lunch, it gets quite loud in such a small space. Definitely recommend Parking: You have plenty of places to park. Either on the east side of the building or on the north side of the entrance to the building.
I dont know know why just a hamburger is $12.59. No prices on menu so you dont know how much something cost burger WAS dry. OK alot dry.
Great Breakfast
Stopped in for breakfast and it did not disappoint. Our waitress Carla had excellent recommendations and was very friendly. She never skipped a beat and took great care of us. Green chili is amazing. My husband had the haystack and said best biscuits he s ever had! We ll be back to visit from Greeley.
Great old style Cafe, good food and good folks running it. Nothing changed. Friendly server food tasted great, had the Cracked Egg omelet. Food : 5/5
Great place for breakfast. We were on road trip and would go again if we stayed in town again!
I came here all the way from North Carolina Just for their burritos. I was not disappointed.
This review is from my visit in early September 2022, my first time there with my son. I really liked this place with the ultra down home friendly staff and the theme of a thrift store of bunch of cool old items for sale. I got an omelette and hash browns and I loved the portion size and the meat and vegetables in the omelette. My only disappointment was the cheese. It was the something like a Kraft sliced American cheese in the plastic peel offs and really has no taste and was not melted really. I don t this link that stuff is real cheese. My son had huge pancakes, hash browns and bacon and he loved everything and was very happy with his food. I will come back when I am near by and try again. I love supporting small businesses.
A fun hole in the wall place to eat.
Great food and great people there
Place is the perfect breakfast spot after shredding and Milliken skatepark.
Great food, the service was super friendly and very home town atmosphere. Pancakes were the best.
The Cracked Egg restaurant is an interesting and small-town hospitality that serves breakfast and lunch with thrift store purchase opportunities. Server, Amy, is delightful, thorough, and gets orders served correctly. She even knows my preferences. This place has become a main choice!
My go to stop for a good breakfast every time!
Feels like home ..from the aromatherapy from the kitchen and all the cool stuff to look at and/or purchase The green chili is like a gravy and has great flavor!
My husband just ordered from this place this morning and he paid $55 for food that was all burnt. Literally everything except the eggs was burnt black. Burnt bacon, burnt pancakes, burnt hash browns. I can t even finish my breakfast burrito because most of it is burnt. Either your guys grill is too hot or your cook needs more training. This is unacceptable. This meal was not at all worth $55!
We have been here many times. Great food, excellent service, friendly people. Highly recommend. Dietary restrictions: They go out of their way to accommodate my dietary restrictions.
The food was great and the atmosphere was nice
Good food. Nice service.
Love this place. The green chili is addicting. Everyone working there is very friendly
Reasonably priced food, large portions, very good service. A little eclectic inside with a second-hand store with the restaurant.
Awesome breakfast burritos
Staff is very friendly but atmosphere felt a bit dirty and cluttered with all the garage sale stuff inside . It seemed a bit overpriced for what we got but food wasnt bad.
I ordered the Texas breakfast and everything was cooked perfectly. I think the gravy could use a little boost of flavor, but it was fine. Service was fast and friendly. The restaurant is small and they have a lot of items inside on display that are for sale. Kind of like a garage sale. The coffee was just ok. They also have a nice lunch menu.
Staff was really friendly and the food was great!!
Awesome breakfast
The food was good, but the place could use an update.
Ive gotten cracked egg several time and everything Ive gotten so far had been amazing. Staff is always super friendly and generous. I absolutely love having breakfast here, makes my week!
Wish I could give 10 stars. Awesome food and atmosphere. Friendly folks. A must visit.
This restaurant is absolutely my go to for good food. Amazing staff and cozy atmosphere. Theres even a bunch of knick knacks all over the place for sale. Picked up some very very old straight razors on this place. Staff is on point with service. Food is great. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys the small town down home restaurants and vibes.
Loves the food. Had the chicken fried steak with green chili + Pueblo benedict. The hash was crispy goodness. Staff were great and friendly
Great service and great food!
Good food, but online menu is not correct and I ordered a sandwich they dont make anymore, instead of letting me know that they waited until I got there and gave me a very disgusting substitute, they did offer it to me free, but I found it wrong they didnt just call me back and have me order something I wanted.
I love supporting small business. This very clean little mom and pop diner w/small thrift store items for sale. It was very quiet upon our arrival, no people, no music, silent. Just when we thought they may be closed we were greeted by a waitress. She was very hospitable, nice, and answered my many questions. 1. Is the green chili vegetarian? No, lard. 2. Are the beans vegetarian? Yes. Do you have salsa? Yes, but, in a packet, not fresh. I wouldnt think the country gravy is vegetarian either, but forgot to ask, its traditionally made with chicken stock. Anyway, the questions helped w/my ordering, I ordered the huevos rancheros, no green chili. It was okay, the hash browns were a little greasier than I would prefer. The salsa packets, not good. Hubs had a basic breakfast, eggs w/cheddar, (you should specify, or else they use American) bacon, hash browns, and french toast. His french toast was burnt on the outside and smooshy on the inside, sadly he didnt say anything, and ate it disappointed. We also ordered beignets and a cini mini. The cini mini was a small cinnamon with icing pancake and it was delicious! The beignets werent authentic, in the fact that they were more dense biscuity, instead of a light and fluffy, like a French style pastry. Overall this place was decent and worth dining at, there was a small crowd before we left, still no music (which I found bizarre). They could use a few minor improvements to really make this place pop and be more mentionable. Natural maple syrup, fresh OJ, salsa, and no one time use plastics, ex. straws/bags and styrofoam. Lets help save Colorado and the planet (we only have one :).
We go there frequently food and service always really good.
Great food and fast service with a taste of a home cooked meal will most definetly be going back for seconds
Very good food, great service. Definitely a different ambiance since everything around you is for sale.
Breakfast was good
Super fast and great food.
Friendly fast priced average clean and homemade taste. Id say on a top list for go to again.
Had the three meat rancheros and it was amazing.
Best local diner in the area. Theyre always friendly and accurate. Ive never had a bad experience there in several years now.
First time there this morning and Im very happy this is close to my new place. Great food, super nice staff and its a thrift store/ breakfast place so there is interesting stuff all over the restaurant. Im terrible with names but I think Amy was our server, she was rad. Kid-friendliness: The stuff on the wall and around the restaurant kept my kiddo engaged, staff was really nice to him.
The food quality has gone down. Our bacon was really crisp (burnt) never got water I had asked for when they took our drink order. My daughter ordered a side of bacon and it came with 3 strips of bacon for 4 dollars. Not a bad place its clean and friendly, but food isnt that good.
This is our go to spot for breakfast. Everything on the menu is excellent!
Nice breakfast menu, service was very fast and friendly wait staff! Parking: Parking is very close Food : 5/5 |
Amazing food, good service, very quaint little place
I love this place! Great food, awesome customer service, and extremely friendly. They treat you like family!
Home town Cafe with great food!! Love the beignets. Nice touch to make a good breakfast, great!
First time customer and I was not amazed. And I hope this serves more of a critical criticism rather than a negative review. For a restaurant in small town Milliken and the ONLY breakfast place I was expecting a better job for a 4 star rating. 1. Walking in it said seat yourself well as soon as we did the people who came in after us got their drinks first and got their order put in before us. 2. there was a port-a potty next to a table where people got seated. 3. Once our food came the coffee was bland too much water. Water in Milliken is NOT great you can taste the the chlorine and there was no filtered water offered. Our food was cold. Half my burrito was not smothered with green chili my hash browns were fried. My cheese wasn t melted. My husbands burrito had burnt bacon inside. 4. I am aware weld county doesn t follow the mandated mask policy which we weren t really aware of until we saw none of the employees wearing a mask. But I do believe you can practice safety in a small restaurant even with out wearing a mask...like staying 6ft apart but instead it was super crowded. I believe the employees there are probably super nice we only met one employee and she was super sweet and friendly! We appreciate so much for your help and I hope you guys can improve your restaurant by making small changes.
Awesome place! This is my new favorite place to eat. The service is amazing, and the food is great. We are always treated with graciousness and kindness. The Cracked Egg has a feeling of home-exactly why I moved to a small town like Milliken. I have not in the slightest been disappointed with my decision to move here; Its a great place to live and small businesses like this are just one more of the many reasons why. The Cracked Egg is unique in the fact that it is a little shop as well as a café-which makes for great breakfast/lunch conversation and entertained children. My 7 year old daughter insists this is where she is going to work when she is able to get her first job! My family and I have loved every experience we have ever had at the Cracked Egg, and we hope to give our business to this awesome restaurant for years to come. From the very first time we stopped in, they really did have me at hello.
Great food friendly staff cool place.
not sure why but all their drinks taste like sanitizer. thats the only reason for not a better rating. staff is great food is good but drinks always turn me off. started getting to where I take my own drinks.
Delightful food and delicious atmosphere.
What a wonderful place! Small town feels, some atmospheric quirkiness, wonderfully friendly staff, amazing delicious food and good prices. Ill be back again and again!!
Great burgers and fries.
This place was so awesome! Very welcoming staff, I think the owner came to visit us too ! So very kind and great service We tried the beignets and they were SOO GOOD very fluffy and hot! Try it with the cream cheese frosting too (suggestion from our waitress) Country fried steak and cinnamon pancakes were incredible too! Will be back again when I come back to CO !
Love this lil hometown diner. The staff is friendly and personal. Feels like coming home everytime. Oh and did I mention that the food is pretty damn good. Try their chicken fried steak rancheros smothered in hot homemade green Chilli! You can thank me later.
We are currently in the Covid pandemic and the state says to wear a mask. We walked in with a mask but soon found out nobody does in there including the wait staff. It seems that rules are for others but not this restaurant. They have garage sale stuff all over the place including hanging over your head. Food was Mediocre to say the least.
Always good food and friendly service.
Absolutely the WORST patty melt! Texas toast! American cheese! YUK!
This is hands down my breakfast spot. The staff is always welcoming even when it s super busy. If your looking for a home cooked meal and the best chili you gotta make this a destination
We go here regularly for breakfast. The staff is very friendly and the food is always delicious.
The food and service is great!
Good food and very friendly!!
Always a great place to eat. Good menu, friendly service great food. Good to take your family.
This place is just the cutest little restaurant. The food was great & the service was amazing! I picked up a few treasures while there as well.
This is for the Platteville location. The tables were filthy, the floors were sticky, the place all together was kind of gross. The thrift store needs to go away, either youre a restaurant or good will, not both. The poor server was all alone so service wasnt amazing, we had to get our own syrup and ask for silverware. The cook switched my green chili and my husbands so mine was too spicy plus no sour cream. The kids pancakes were burnt, my cinnamon one was not great. We all didnt feel great afterwards either. Dont see us going back anytime soon.
Wish I could give negative stars. When placing togo order. The server rudely corrected me when trying to order a smothered burrito without the tortilla. Apparently its called a Ranchero. This fact is one I had no way of knowing since the restaurant doesnt put their menu online. As a suggestion maybe have your wait staff not talk down to your customers. I have been an off and on regular but the past few experiences make me want to not ever go to your restaurant again.
They have a great selection of breakfast meals and their breakfast burritos are top shelf and they actually have REAL spicy salsa, if you ask for it!
Warm, cozy, down home comfort.
LOVE this little place! Huevos Rancheros are my personal favorite. We end up getting their food at least once a week because of their amazing breakfast burritos. The service is TOP NOTCH. Staff is so friendly. Our go-to breakfast spot!! And they have great thrifting goods!
We came in for breakfast with our kiddos and breakfast was delicious fast coming out and service was amazing !!!!!
Really enjoyed the food here. Great Local Mom and Pop spot with great food and customer service. They knew we were from out of town and we still felt like part of the community as they welcomed us with open arms. Definitely would come back if were up this way again.
Nice breakfast experience. had the eggs Benedict. Interesting environment, where its pretty much having breakfast inside a garage sale, but its not weird. People are nice, friendly, food is good and Ill be back!
Our favorite new breakfast place, incredible!
Always good food and service. Lot of interesting vintage items for sale too.
Great local breakfast/lunch joint. Staff qas friendly...and as it got busy, so did they! Like a flea market and restaurant combined. It was cool. Go check them out!
Amazing habanero green chili
Very delicious, so delicious
Fun, friendly staff made it feel like a group of friends whipping up something in the kitchen for you. They struck up genuine conversations with the various customers going in-and-out as well as each other and it really added to the ambiance of the place. I had a breakfast burrito smothered in spicy green chili and am happy to report that it had more bite than your typical restaurant-hot level (mild and medium were also available). In a peculiar move the location also doubles as a thrift store. While I didnt find anything of particular interest your mileage may vary. Wish Id had more off of the menu to comment on but the burrito was tasty and filling, would eat here again!
Awesome service and a cute tiny restaurant
First time, had the big breakfast burrito, really really good, yummy green chili too
Most friendly place Ive been in a long time!!
Friendly staff, great burger.
Love this place!! Staff is always friendly and very down to earth, and the food is great!! Can t go wrong with this venue!!
Great food in a little town. Homemade green chili. Some really great omelettes! And a garage sale while you wait. Always find something fun to buy Change all the time
Was not here
well it breaks my heart to say this, I have to break my 4 years streak of eating at this place. BUGS in the food. Used to be delicious, but today was absolutely disappointing. I highly recommend a deep cleaning, waitress was dropping things all over the floor, picking them up and then handing out silverware without at least a light rinse of water. Save the trip, make your own breakfast without the bugs
Real breakfast!
Ordered out a couple of burgers as lunch after just moving to town. It was the absolute worst burger Ive ever received in my life. It smelled and looked like it was formed from wet cat food, and tasted worse.
This is amazing place. After years of driving by...we decided to stop. The place was full of antiques which made or stay very interesting. I have never had this much fun getting breakfast. Food was just right. Farm style all the way. Fresh eggs bacon bisquets all good. Will be back...
Food is good but dont go here in the winter of you want a warm place to eat. It was so cold in there my legs got cold and I rarely get cold. My 80 year old mom was freezin.
So so food was good and menu overpriced
Good food and service!
Cini mini pancakes are delicious! The green chili is very tasty with good heat. Friendly small town cafe with good food and good people.
Was in Milliken last August for a festival. Had the huevos rancheros. OMGOODNESS!! Back home Georgia still trying to duplicate! If I weren t 1/2 a continent away, I d be a regular! Can t wait to come back.
Wonderful service and great food.
Ive always loved this place ! fresh cooked to Perfection and great service in such a HomeTown community
Awesome food and service
We have family in town and wanted to treat them to breakfast burritos and eat local. The best part about them was the tortillas. The hash browns were burnt and the egg wasnt cooked all the way. We bought 9 burritos and all of them were inedible. Its sad when you try to support locally and this happens.
Try to always do Sunday morning breakfast here. Staff is very friendly. Small Town atmosphere.... I love it.
Good food. Fair price
Love this place!!! So yummy and friendly too! Karla is the best lady!!!
Good food. No masks. Hopefully I dont get corona.
Great place great food awesome staff
Love the cracked egg Milliken Colo.servers friendly food like eating at home.
The food is always great and the staff are very friendly and awesome
This is the most eclectic restaurant I have ever been in! Not on is it a cafe, it is also a thrift store...it was awesome!!! I had the biscuits & gravy with hashbrowns & scrambled eggs on top...IT WAS DELICIOUS!!! I also bought Skip-Bo and Sequence and my friend bought the cutest pair of boots, a egg holder & some paper bowls. Staff is incredibly nice and prices are good. Cant say enough great things about this cafe! Next time I come to visit from Washington State, I will be back!!!
Really enjoyed the breakfast burritos. Nice little spot will definitely return!
An excellent little small town restaurant.
Family owned, great food, serving size, price!!!!! Service is down home..... Very professional, but personalable. Drive from Windsor to eat there....
This place is AWESOME!!! I love that they have a flea market inside lol its a little distracting though. I wanted to look at the stuff while I was eating
One of the cleanest restaurants I ve ever eaten in. Service was great and food was soo good!
Awesome, very understated but the food is excellent.
Rediculously fast and accurate order.... First time there but will return again
Country Cafe Cookin. Good stuff.
Unique little cafe. Great green chili breakfasts and really nice staff.
