Vibe and food , top notch, must visit

I have come here a few times and the food is always very good ! But my husband and I went here for dinner tonight to celebrate and the service was good and the food was good but I was so disappointed that during our dinner the servers got into a fight and this went on during our entire experience. This really turned me off from this restaurant . The servers were fighting over tables and too many people working and not enough tables ! This is so unprofessional ! Take this outside or to the back . Do not fight in front of customers when they are trying to have a romantic dinner together

Criminally over priced, mediocre at best. This crust was super airy and light holding it in the box and just felt insulting for spending so much on a small pizza. If they are going to charge that kind of money for a pizza then it better be the best darn pizza of my life which it came no where close. Sorry! Milton really sucks for food

You Gotta Eat Here! Update: We continue to have supper here as it is truly great place to eat. Never had a bad meal and service is excellent, keep up the good work. We had supper here this evening. My wife and I ordered the garlic bread, calamari fritti,caprese salad and a pizza we built. We like to nosh and share so we have everything ordered to arrive at the same time. All that took only 23 minutes to arrive at our table. Stunning presentation an HOT. The garlic bread done on chiabatta bread, crispy and chewy with a nice hint of garlic, not over powered. You could taste the bread, butter and garlic all in harmony. Calamari with bread hot pepper and dip, fabulously tender, crispy batter, great aoli to dip into. The salad well balanced and fresh, arugula was not harsh and bitter and the dressing just hint on it so not to drown the delicate the salad. Now the pizza, beautifully cooked great delicate crispy crust. The ingredients we chose, portobello mushrooms, cherry tomato, bococcini, and prosciutto, Delish! It also had mozzarella cheese. Well balanced sauce so wonderfully fresh tasting and the cheese, nice and stringy. One of the best pizzas I have had ever! The servers are great, cheerful and very attentive You have to go here. Worth every penny and not outrageous prices.

Our party of 7 just had a great time. Being that we are hospitality people and we all enjoyed the food and service, that says something about the place.

When you tell your waitress not once but three times there s broccoli in your cup she gave you, you d think she would switch the cup & get the hint that I want a cup without a broccoli stem at the very bottom? Nope. My waitress continued to bring out the same disgusting cup with the same broccoli floating around Also the literal fact that it was before we even ordered our food as it was during our drink orders. Three times too many bringing the same cup with the broccoli at the bottom. Disgusting. Threw off the whole vibe & night.

Terrible service.No comments on the food as we left without even placing an order.The waitress kept roaming around in the patio but kept us waiting.Not kids friendly as well!

My husband and I have eaten at portobellos quite a few times, it is now our go to restaurant. The food and the service has always been great. When we go we always try to have Kaitlyn serve us, she always makes our dining experience nice.

My wife and just got back from a wonderful dining experience at Portobello s Bistro in Milton. Kaitlyn our server was excellent. She was helpful, pleasant and had a wonderful smile and made the entire dining experience pleasurable. The food was very good and we even purchased some of their tomato sauce to take home with us. We will obviously be going back. This may become our go to place.

This place is my go to spot in Milton! Sarah and Tony are wonderful! They accommodated us as we waltzed in shortly before 10pm unaware that they were closing in 10 minutes lol. The pizza and drinks were delicious, and the vibes matched the quality of the food. I ll be back soon!

Hear me out here, we have gone to portobellos for many occasions and the food is consistently incredible. It was today too! However, for some odd reason now they are charging 2.5 percent extra if you use your credit card to pay which the majority of people do and it honestly seems distasteful and it tainted the entire experience. Those costs are already worked into the prices of the food and to add it again in an established restaurant seems cheap and off putting to me. It makes me want to avoid returning which could cost them more in business than the 2% in credit card fees. I understand prices are going up everywhere but I feel it would be more appropriate to raise each dishs price by a few cents and maintain their credibility.

My family and I have been multiple times and have always had a great meal with a comfortable, friendly atmosphere. Their pizza and pasta dishes are fresh, super tasty with a generous portion the patio is really fun to enjoy drinks and apps! Salute!

Food was mediocre however waitress was very attentive. Good value for what s offered and portions are quite large. I got the penne alla vodka which didn t at all taste like it s supposed to and the sausage was a very strange addition .

What an amazing dining experience. I had the pleasure of trying some of the best pasta in town with some of the highest level of service. This is a for sure go to spot if your in the area or a local looking to have a nice dinner. Highly recommend

Great little hidden gem of a restaurant.

My fiancé and I had our engagement party here the past weekend and it was phenomenal! We originally made a reservation for 1pm on the Sunday but shortly realized after that they don t open until 4pm we called and they said that they were going to open early for us! We were so impressed and blown away by this kind act by the owner, Mario. The food was amazing, the waitress were fantastic and the vibes were immaculate. Thank you Portabellos for making our special day even more special!

I had low expectations of the restaurant until my wife decided to give it a try and now we want to go weekly. My 4 kids love the Italian authenticity and they make the best pizzas and pastas. The service by Sara was nothing but profesionalism and that made the entire experience a 5 star.

I was disappointed, as I didnt expect an Italian Bistro rated 4.4 * to serve my drink in a plastic cup. They dont have a wood oven pizza.Ordered cappucino with my desert, but came 15 minutes after I finished my cake. Waitress did apologize, after I asked about it, twice. Grilled calamari was good. All in all, there are much better italian restaurants in the area.

The food here was absolutely delicious. I had the pesto chicken pizza and it was perfect. Unfortunately the service was terrible. We were served by a young lady with long brown hair. I dont know her name as she never told us what it was. She did bring water right away but did not return to our table for another 35 minutes for us to place our order. After the pizza came I wanted to order a drink, but she never came back to check on us. I was 3/4 complete my pizza when I was able to wave her down. She was on her phone quite a bit and not paying attention to all the tables. I will definitely go back because the meal was fantastic but I hope I have a different server next time.

We happened upon this place while searching for a chill place for lunch. The service was a bit slow but it was sooo worth the wait. We ordered a Caesars salad and a mushroom ravioli and both things were excellent! The portion sizes were great. The falvours were authentic. I see myself coming back again for sure :)

Ive been to Portabellos several times since they opened. The food and the service are always consistently good. Grateful to have this independent restaurant in our community.

This is the second time I ordered take out and although busy this place and its staff are absolutely amazing! On mothers day people were lined up which only speaks to the quality of food. Im a pizza fanatic and I can honestly say this is one of the best pizzas Ive had! Well done!

Got take out and the food was great. My only complaint is that the gentleman at the front came off quite rude. He didn t respond at all when I thanked him multiple times and didn t smile or acknowledge me whatsoever. That kinda left things on a poor note and I m not sure I would come back because of that.

We go here all the time, service is great and food is delicious. Its our favourite place to eat in Milton, they are very accommodating with our two young kids.

We enjoyed a delightful chicken salad paired with wine, and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken was tender, and the lettuce was notably fresh, adding a satisfying crunch to every bite.

It is excellent customer service. The restaurants business is only up to 9pm. Maybe most of the local restaurants will close around at 9 pm.

Very good pizza and solid pasta dishes. This style of pizza doesn t travel super well. I had it delivered before and it was just ok. MUCH better when fresh.

Horrible customer service and deplorable management! We called in the afternoon to make a reservation for 3 experienced restaurant goers, they said they dont take reservations but to call before we come so we did and they said yes we have space. When we got there they said it would be a few minutes. A couple walk in behind us and she tells the female server oops sorry I forgot to text you. The server says we are busy but I will get you in . The server promptly then tells us it will be a 20 minute wait. So we played the game and said ok knowing full well she wanted us to leave so that the couple behind us could get the next table. She was shocked when we said we would wait. Within 2 minutes a table of 4 opened up and the same server said it was reserved. Hmmm you dont take reservations for under 6. Then she had the audacity to escort the other couple to the table of 4! Comes back to us and says to us you have this table right in front of the door (if you could have seen this table you would not have your dog sit there). We let her and a male server (he did attempt to try and keep us there and he was not happy with the elder female server) know that we heard the whole conversation expressed our disgust and left. Went to Symposium Cafe and had the most pleasant experience, service was great, great menu choices and 1/2 price bottles of wine on a Friday! Our night out was saved. But will never step foot at Portobellos again! That should make the texting couple who knew exactly what they did happy! #portabellomilton

Rather simple menu, but sufficient choices and very good food. Reasonable prices. I would have liked someone to come see us more often to offer to fill our glasses, get water, etc.

The best restaurant Ive been to all summer! Excellent food and service. We visited last week Saturday - August 17th, 2019. We were attending the Maple Leaf Nationals - BMX Race at Drumquin Park and wanted to grab a bite to eat before hitting the road. Looking to celebrate my sons big day of racing I took to Google to find this well rated place not to far from the park. So glad I decided on Portabellos Restaurant. The food was authentic and fresh. I could not fit my sons bike inside our truck so I decided to wheel it in to the restaurant. The cook took notice of my sons Team Canada racing uniform and bike and after we had placed our orders with Patricia our waitress and came over to fist pump and congratulate him! He told my son that he could order any dessert on the menu and that it was on the house! So nice and sincerely kind. Our food included Chicken Parmesan-s, Pizza and started with an order of garlic bread. Everything was top notch. So delicious. It was a hot day at the track so we decided to eat inside. However, I took a moment to walk out to check their patio seating area. It was well kept and had a good mix of sun and shade. I would highly recommend Portabellos Italian Bistro / Restaurant. Great little place, went for dinner! Service was great, our server was super nice and very outgoing. She suggested some usual favourites and some of her favourites as well. Had the Chicken Parm and subbed the Marinara for Alfredo. Portions are great, had enough leftover to have the next day. Also had the creme brulee for dessert, which I recommend. 10/10 and definitely will be back.

Don t bother. This restaurant obviously caters to regulars and/or family. Can t even get a reservation and can t guarantee that a table for 2 will be available 10 minutes after enquiring. We ve been trying to eat here for some time now. Lost our appetites.

First time ever ordering from Portabellos and we were not disappointed. My wife and I enjoyed it. We had the chicken parm and a small Greek pizza. Everything tasted delicious and authentic.

Decent place. Food wasnt bad. But take the word Italian with a large heap of salt. Its just an eatery type place. It isnt an authentic Italian spot. Pizza was okay. The Alfredo pasta was good. Not a bad place to come through if youre in Milton and craving some lowkey casual Italian type food.

Came for a quick and relaxing dinner, ended up the opposite. We had to wait an hour and 15 minutes in total for our meals. It took so long that at the 45 minute mark, we asked for our food to go as our daughter was getting fussy. We asked for olives for our daughter to try and keep her occupied and we got charged $4 on top of our $100+ bill for a total of 5 olives. Never got asked for refills on drinks. We then had to wait even longer while seeing other meals come out that got there after us. After 2 hours at the restaurant and not eating, we got home and my boyfriend has random pieces of pasta in his salmon dish. Overall terrible experience and will not be returning. Our waitress was nice but you could see she was stressed by the kitchen taking so long.

The weather was perfect for an after work patio drink last night and Their patio is great ! Lovely sunset and Lisette, who has been our waitress a few times, was fabulous as always. Very welcoming, of course made us laugh and made sure our drinks were replenished until we headed out. Thank you .. great end to the day!!

This is one of my husbands and my favourite restaurants in Milton. Fabulous food and it is always a super pleasant experience. We have done dine in and take out, each has been absolutely delicious. The portions are pretty big, we always have leftovers :)

The food is good and all, but the service is slow, no sense of urgency. Especially when you call an hour ahead of time for takeout.

Amazing bday dinner for our 23 year old daughter! Our server was very attentive and helpful. The bruschetta was delicious not too much garlic and had a tasty drizzle of balsamic. Chicken alfredo, crab cakes and seafood pasta were scrumptious. A totally sensational meal. Washed down with Grey Goose and iced Cranberry, and red wine. HOME RUN - WELL DONE!

Had a late dinner with my girlfriend for our anniversary and our server was great. She told the chef, Tony, that it was a special night and he made a fantastic 3 course meal with a fancy desert worth 5 stars. Thanks to our server and Tony for such a good experience!

Amazing food and excellent service!

Went there for drinks and lunch this afternoon, but to our surprise this restaurant was temporarily not serving alcohol but you know what, we were already there so it was fine. We took a table anyways, and the young man in the kitchen was overly friendly, cracked a joke, then helped with our deciding on what to order. He then came back out once we were half way through to ask if we were enjoying our meal and he wasn t even our server! Tony, you made us laugh and presented our food beautifully. You went above and beyond. What could have been a not-so-great experience actually turned out to be one of the best. We are coming back for sure hopefully we can have a glass of wine or two next time .

I can t review the food because we didn t even get the appetizer (spinach dip) after over 30 minutes of waiting, even though they were not busy and there was only one other table on the patio. The coke was flat. The service was apalling. The hostess was not very welcoming and didn t have a friendly demeanor. The waitress didn t even introduce herself and was very cold and uninterested in doing her job. She took our order and then disappeared after getting us the drinks, not even bothering to check on us every few minutes or at least have the courtesy to let us know that our food is being prepared (which is the bare minimum for a waitress). If you expect to be taken care of as a customer, don t come here.

I used to LOVE portobellos but something has definitely changed in recent months. The food came out cold and dry. The booster chair was dirty. The waitress was trying her best but unfortunately wasn t able to help much. I asked for my food to be remade or even warmed up and she said the kitchen is busy so i would have to wait about 20 mins. I had my two kids with me and it already took 30 minutes to get my food. I really couldn t wait another 20mins. I was also a bit confused because it was not even busy. The last two times has been the same experience and I m disappointed because Portobello s used to be my favourite :(. I wouldn t recommend this time around.

If you are looking for authentic Italian food, this is the place for you! Great service, great music and of course exceptional food. The owners are always friendly and accommodating, and the owner Mario is very attentive to tables requests. Highly recommend if you are looking for a tasty meal!

Horrible experience. I went to get take out (first time). No one greeted me - a server literally looked at me and turned around and went to clear a table off. After about 5 minutes of waiting an older male server approached me. He was extremely rude and condescending and still did not help me. I finally realized the take-out desk was tucked in the corner (because I saw another customer go there) and went to pay (despite the strong instinct to leave which I should have trusted). The girl working the take out counter was very friendly and nice which is the only positive. I took a peak into the kitchen and it was not clean. The food was fairly pricey so still had high hopes that maybe the food would make up for the rude service. The food was absolutely inedible. There is nothing even remotely Italian about the ingredients or the way this food is cooked. If you enjoy Italian food (or just good food), do not go here.

Come for an early lunch today was an awesome experience..I meet Tony the chef on duty, his hospitality is so amazing..being a picky foodie..I tried a new meal.Linguine Alfredo.and it was simply tasty...I will definitely come again...Adeola. O

We went for dinner last night as a group of 8. Took about 10 min to get seated and everyone seemed busy but pleasant. Sat on the patio. Waitress was very cold and not personable at all, didn t give her name or anything. Had to flag her down to get another drink. Food came out for 4 of us after about 40minutes and didn t come out for the other 4 for another 15 min or so, most of us were almost done eating. No apologies for the delay of even acknowledging it. Was looking forward to a nice meal out with friends and was very disappointed in the lack of service and professionalism.

Went for my 5 year anniversary with my boyfriend :) We had asked to do a half and half on one pizza since it wasn t that busy they allowed it. But they surprised us with 2 that we could bring some home and continue to enjoy our amazing food spending the rest of the night together the food was so good and the staff is so kind that we decided this is our new favourite date night spot! Can t wait to go back!

The calamari smelled so bad like rotten fish. The garlic bread was so wet and Smothered. The lasagna and the sauce is not homemade its out of a can. The chicken fettuccine was so dry. I threw it in the garbage that was my order of the night on Saturday night. Disgusting never order from these guys again.

Searching for an Italian place to eat, we came up to this small cute corner of Portobello s Italian Bistro. Lizette (sorry if I misspelled it) she was from South Africa was our server, the food was excellent, everything tasted wonderful, my pizza omg one of the best, everyone ate their meals no leftovers, but the highlight to our night was the service. Lizette was not only attentive but she was such a wonderful person. I work in the industry and I love when we can provide wonderful service (especially for a party of 9) without any issues. She s a gem. You are lucky to have her. Thanks Lizette for accommodating our family of 9 visiting from Seattle Washington and Hawaii. Much Mahalo (thank you)

Decided to come try the pizza here. I was told it was good. Was a little sad when I saw the conveyor oven but its not the oven. Its the ingredients thats used to make the pizza. Very good quality pizza. Very good service.one of The best pizzas Ive tried in Milton

I have been going to this restaurant for 18 years. Imagine my surprise tonight when it was very blatant I was being ignored clearly because of my skin colour. I stood in line waiting to be seated with my family. while this one particular staff spoke to everyone else but me. Proceeded to seat the white family in line behind me. Spoke to white couple behind my family. Then proceeded to speak to the line up of behind me ignoring that I was first in line. I am not someone to write negative reviews but this server has got to go! We don t have room for micro aggression like this in Milton. I will be contacting the restaurant directly as well.

Oh, give me a break. As a matter fact, give us all a break. Me and my family have been coming here over the past 10 years and every single time we have had a more than pleasant experience.M. It is disheartening when individuals, regardless of their background, assume racism on the part of white individuals in any situation that fails to meet their expectations. However, if you have been a long-time patron of Portabellos, @Nadine Persaud, as you claim, it should be evident that your accusation is baseless. The staff, both front-of-house and back-of-house, play a significant role in our continued patronage due to their warmth, hospitality, and diverse composition. It is unfortunate that people are so quick to resort to playing the race card without considering the reality of the situation. On the night in question, the restaurant was exceptionally busy and unable to accommodate every guest promptly, which understandably led to some dissatisfaction. It is important to note that no racist behavior was observed or intended. It is worth mentioning that, despite your claim of being a loyal customer, no positive reviews of Portabellos can be found from you. However, it is disheartening that you felt compelled to publicly criticize the establishment based on a minor dispute that appears to be a product of your own perception.

The food is simply good. I enjoy it all the time. The service on time, no long waiting. Holly, th waitress, serves us all , then leave us alone. She is attentive, but shes more interested in us eating everything on the menu. This place feels like family. I love it here. Thanks Holly for being your best and serving us well. :) Joya.

Tried this restaurant for the first time and did not disappoint. The food arrived quickly and was very delicious. We shared crab cakes which was excellent. My wife had meat lovers pizza which was very good albeit a bit salty. I had the Portofino pasta which was very delicious. The amount of mussels was awesome and the broth was to die for. Our server was friendly and very attentive. Highly recommend this place.

The atmosphere is really good as well as the food.

They said their debit machine is broken when I pick up and had me to withdraw cash from convenience store ATM in the same plaza. They should tell this when I ordered then I didn t have to pay extra fee for cash

Delicious food! We grabbed take-out for the wife s birthday. It was still warm when we got home which is a surprising change for most of the takeout situations now a days! We were really impressed with food, and even more impressed with the friendly service and staff!

We often go to portobellos. But yesterday was not our day at portobellos restaurant. Initially everything was going smooth with drinks but when the dinner was severed after taking two bites of my pasta I realised that pasta had mushrooms and I am allergic to mushrooms. By the time my food was replaced my husband was already done with dinner and after half an hour of wait my pasta comes and I had no interest in eating alone . Was not a good evening which me and my husband had planned . There was no discount or complimentary were offered .

Horrible experience Ordered food and even after a 2hour wait no service while online food delivery services were getting their orders on time. Manager was rude told us to leave if we could not wait. Lastly my cousin s phone was stolen by one of the staff. What a horrible evening that was

Food is great but unfortunately the customer service is awful and getting worse over the years. Seems to be a lot of students working there and handling things they shouldnt be if they arent responsible enough - they are careless and dont take any responsibility for their actions. The owners dont seem to care about any issues, they dont make efforts to rectify situations or prevent them in the future. The kitchen staff doesnt take allergies seriously. Unfortunately due to the above and seemingly the same issues over and over again, I will no longer be supporting this restaurant. Most recently, I had mentioned allergies and got home to find out the Chef decided to be creative and change the dish by adding something I was allergic to. When I called about it, the Chef was very cocky and unapologetic saying thats how we cook! They re-made the dish but seeing as this was take out, I had to drive back to get it while the rest of my family ate or had their food go cold waiting for me! I just cannot trust a restaurant that has that attitude and doesnt take allergies seriously. If this is the way this restaurant treats customers and appreciates them for the support, I will definitely be supporting other restaurants who treat me well and make sure every order is a good one - both food and customer service.

Great patio with good Italian food.

If I could put zero stars I would. My dad ordered a large order from there today for my family. My grandma is allergic to gluten. They mislabeled the pasta and she ate a bit of it before we realized that hers was not gluten free. We called the restaurant and went back and they admitted that must have mis-labeled the food. The staff did not seem aware how serious this allergy is. There was no manager there and they agreed to have the manager call us. When he called he was extremely rude and wanted us to come back and show him the mislabeled pasta. Instead of just apologizing. All we wanted was them to realize their mistake and educate their staff on the dangers of this allergy and yet he didn t care. We never asked for a refund. He tried to blame us and say we gave her the wrong food. The new pasta they gave us was clearly different from the one that was labelled, it was obvious the one they labeled and she ate was not gluten free. Don t go here if anyone has allergies, they don t take it serious. We have been going here for years and will never come back. If your staff doesn t understand what gluten free allergy is don t offer it to your customers. It is a serious allergy.

We recently had our sons Baptism at Portobellos and were extremely happy with how everything went. The food and service exceeded our expectations. A huge thank you to Mario and Nadia for making our experience absolutely amazing. We would highly recommend eating at Portabello s!!

I had called looking to book a venue for a certain date. They penciled me in. I m horrible that I didn t call them to let them know that their venue didn t work for what I was looking for. I was hoping for most of my party of 80 people to be seated outside and they couldn t accommodate simply for the size of their venue. THEY CALLED ME asking if I still wanted that date! I m so shocked and amazed at great customer service given how hard it is to come by these days. I wanted to rate them 5 stars for how organized and on the ball their restaurant is. P.S. I was referred to them by someone who did have a baptism at their restaurant and had amazing things to say about their food and services!

Food was really good but pizza is way too small for the price.

My partner and I tried this place for the first time and were impressed. The service was fast and friendly. The food came out very hot and was delicious. At atmosphere was nice and clean. We will definitely visit again. Parking: There is free parking on site but not a huge lot. It might be hard to find a space at busy times.

My wife found this gem of an Italian restaurant in Milton. The food was very good and the portions are definitely for sharing. My only concern was the server, seemed a little frazzled and not as attentive as I would expect. But I will definitely go back and hopefully its better next time.

Decided to eat here on the way home and was treated to great service and tasty food. The pasta servings are just the right size and the pizza we ordered was delicious. Thanks for having us!

Me and my family visited portabellos on Sept 17 at around 7 45. I have loved going to this restaurant, the pizza, pasta and appetizers are phenomenal. Its always good here, but Carlos made it even better! He was quick, very polite and attentive. I HAD to leave a review because of this great service! Thank you, we will be back as usual.

Order take out the linguine with Alfredo sauce .The pasta was hard and stuck together not really hot.The lasagna was like it was reheated it was hard in the middle.Was very surprised with meal not what I expected. Not sure what happened but the quality of this meal was very poor

My wife and I have driven by Portabellos on a daily basis for the last 8 years since we moved to Milton, it was not until today that we went for dinner and wow we were so impressed. It was enjoyment on every level. The service was fantastic, the atmosphere was great, and the drinks and food were absolutely spectacular. Im not one to write reviews but it was so good that I felt like I had to. Thank you for a wonderful meal

My wife and I ordered spaghetti and meatballs and a 16 portobello mushroom pizza. Both were pretty good and we liked the portion because it was shareable. Overall the food was good but the pasta was a bit too much on the salty side. The pizza was great and also had leftovers for the next day.

Food and service were excellent! It was our first time in this gem in Milton; we highly recommend it! Kudos to our server Alysa who was very attentive and nice.

The food was really good! I had the jumbo mushroom ravioli which came with literally the best bread ever. Service was great too! Only giving a 4 as it took almost an hour to get our food.

Delicious food

Had a meal out here with three friend last night. We all loved our appetizers and meals. Dessert (creme brule and ginger spice cake) was phenomenal. Everything was delicious and the service we had was wonderful. Nice atmosphere.

Omg amazing. I recommend 100%. I ordered the grilled calamari salad for an app and it was so fresh and delicious. I had the crab and shrimp creamy pasta . unreal! Couldn t even take a photo because I ate it so quick. I can t wait to go back!
