Called at 8:27 to place a takeout order was told the cut off was 830. Their hours of operation say 9pm. I was visiting friends behind the McDonald’s which is .02miles from the store. She started to take my order and then said ooops my manager says no. If you’re not going to honor your hours of operation please change them to 8pm. It’s a small town and it’s quite frankly disingenuous to people who want to support a local business instead of a chain. But I guess that’s why towns should allow chains in because they follow their hours!
My husband and I went for lunch. We've never been to this zacharys. I ordered a hot RB and my husband had the pastrami sub. I couldn't believe what was put in front of me. It looked like someone sat on it, it was so smashed down. Why? It had one slice of beef on the sandwiche. I ordered a half. One slice of tomato. The meat was a little burnt. How anyone could send this out of the kitchen is beyond me. My husband said his was OK. Never again.
I’ve been coming to this place for a long time, but I felt it was time to leave a review after today’s experience. My family and I came in to eat. We were a party of eight…. after knowing its self seating and no reservations we sat ourselves and waited for a waiter. When the waiter finally did come up to us she informed us that we were not able to dine in due to our party size without a reservation…. Zacharys has never taken reservations and highly disappointed with this experience. More or less putting this out there for larger groups. Usually have a good experience in food is good.

Really enjoy the food and consistency. However, I was pretty much told my family shouldn’t come back. I thought we had been respectful and kind, but because I had kids I felt like we didn’t belong. I was told by Shelly that all we did was make a mess, I did my best to clean up after my one year old, and didn’t get spaghetti after she asked me not to. I am truly upset because I have enjoyed coming. I wish I felt more welcomed.
We used to get Zachary's every so often as a treat. The pizza and pasta were quite good. But since COVID, the quality and value for cost have dropped dramatically. Pasta for takeout seems precooked and reheated, often with hot and cold as well as soggy and overbaked spots; meatballs may be burned on the bottom and cheese sticks just chunky and bleh. It just feels like they got in over their heads and they no longer care.
I've been eating at Zach's for years, but tonight was one of the worst dining experiences. First, they made one of our calzones incorrectly, we took the incorrect one anyways because we were hungry. When we cut into it, the cheese wasn't melty, in fact the middle was nearly stone cold. I brought it up and asked for another, and maybe with the original fillings we asked for in the first place. The waitress, Kary, is awesome. We love visiting with her when we come in. She went back in and asked the cook to make another. I couldn't hear what he said, but it sounded like her was upset. We waited about 20min and the replacement finally came out. Unfortunately, that one wasn't warn in the middle either, though the bottom was burnt. We also noticed that none of the calzones had ricotta, as stated on the menu. I kept the replacement, because I was really hungry at this point. The person I was eating with was done eating by now, when all of a sudden this hideous rap music started blasting out of the kitchen. At that point we just wanted to leave. I ate the fillings in the ends, where it was actually cooked, we paid, and left. Super disappointing, used to love Zach's.
Their new location is a step up with the same great food. Had a lovely salad and chicken Parm sub. Excellent garlic bread. The new fries are very good, battered fries if you like them that way. Super crispy. The garlic knots here are amazing. The pizza is very good. The only meal I've had here that I can't recommend was the lasagna (was like it was previously frozen - mushy pasta). Maybe it was just a one-time thing, but I'm not willing to try again.
Great place to grab a nice and comforting meal at a good value with good service.
Service is speedy and friendly, have not had a problem, can be busy on weekends. Parking: Its shared parking with other business, but plenty of space.
The food was awesome, and the service as well. It seemed good to go out to eat. Thanks to my lovely wife!

Shelly was rude and unprofessional and said she didnt like Veterans because they ask for military discounts. My pizza was completely wrong and thus unedible due to a topping added that I cant eat and didnt order. Unbelievable that they employ this individual after such after repeated rudeness to customers. I will not be a return customer.
Classic American style pizzeria in rural vermont. Quality ingredients and a well put together menu. Its been a top local choice for several decades.

Beats Domino s Pizza by far. My toddlers both loved the cheese pizza. My husband and I had the Zachary s special pizza. The taste and quality of the pizzas are amazing. Will be back to try the other pizzas

Been eating at Zachs since I was a kid. I was a little worried, as I have heard some rumors it was going downhill. But I came here and was pleasantly relieved to find the new place was clean and together, the service was great, and the pizza is as I remembered. Will be back again!
I really like the thin-crust pizza. Not oily or doughy, and the sauce has good flavor.
Came in on a Saturday for lunch. Service was subpar , as we came in, we sat ourselves like youre supposed to then nobody acknowledged us for at least 10 minutes. Once we received our food nobody came back to check on our drinks.
Great food. Not too expensive. The wings were crispy with great flavor and spice.
We called and asked how late they were open, they said 10pm (Friday night) we drive there, door open sigh saying seat yourself, we sit down for 5-8 minutes, people walking around so I go up to the counter and the lady said we are closed. I said I just called you, you said 10. They said we are closing early today. We would not of taken the drive knowing that s why I called and checked. And if your closed lock the door and turn the lights off.
... Chicken parm was not very good quality and it was hard to eat... That said the waitress was wonderful and the service was fast...
Good restaurant with a big menu. Have had no issues with picking up food. Now has a small bar in the back which is one of the only in Milton.
The food was fine, great salads and the pizza was okay. The service was terrible. I have patience and understanding when a restaurant is understaffed as there was one person waiting tables, but she took her frustration out on the customers. The waitress was beyond rude. I wont be back.

Food is decent (I only had mozza sticks) and service is pretty good. They were busy in the bar area and the staff were working hard.

This was the first time I had been to the new Milton location since they had moved. There were 4 of us and all agreed the food quality had changed and was mediocre at best. The restraunt was empty of the hr and half we were there, but the bar area was hopping. I would say that the new location is more of a pizza joint fronting a bar, which appears to be the real draw!
Garlic knots are amazing
Zachary s in Milton has been consistently good for as long as I can recall. Over the years, the menu has kept with the times and new items have been added, but the original menu items taste the same as they did years ago-still delicious! Their salads have always been my favorite and their ranch dressing is still the best around. The staff is always helpful and friendly, and I appreciate the convenience of online ordering.
Delicious pizza ready within 25 minutes, very nice inside. Next time I think Ill dine in.
Great restaurant much like the colchester location. They do not have the burger basket though. Don t let the light fool you, sometimes they leave the light off but they are open. Food is always delicious.

Most of my order was great. Exactly as we wanted it. The calzone on the other hand is the smallest calzone I have ever seen. Ordered the peperonist specialty calzone and you can barely tell it has the normal amount of pepperoni in it. Very unhappy with this. Waste of $13.89.
Food is usually good however customer service and honesty seems to be lacking at least in the Milton branch. Several months ago the staff took it upon themselves to add a tip on a card for a takeout order. I stopped back in and approached them on it and they advise that it was impossible for them to have done that despite me having my copy of the receipt and the print out from my bank statement . Apparently my wife looked like an easy target for this fraud and they didn t count on someone actually keeping and checking receipts to their accounts. It wasn t much but it was still the principal. Fast forward to today, I decided to give them another shot however decided I would pay with cash. Myself and one other person placed our orders at the same time and when we went in to pick it up ask them to split the bill. I paid for my pizza in cash and the other person paid for their pizza on their card and the staff member was overheard complaining about having to ring up the two items separately. If I thought about it I would ve turned around, walked back to the counter and taken the tip I left in the tip jar out telling him it was too complicated for them to figure out. I Have gone to this Zachary s since I was at least seven years old and over the years spent countless Meals there. No more, this will Be my last. Note that both issues either involved the on shift manager (different person both times.) or was addressed with and brushed off by them.
Best Calzones around! I am very particular especially when it comes to food and this place has always made it just the way I like it! Thats Amazing considering most places disappoint me. I tell them exactly how I want it so its not like they dont know! Zacharys will have me as a lifetime loyal Customer, even if I have to drive 20 minutes. Thank You!!!
Go in at 8:19 pm told the dining room closes for 8:30 so we can t dine in ?! At that point should have just said they close at 8:00 pm !
The ceiling tiles are covered in dusty grease. The table cloth was sticky to the touch. There are holes / rips on some of the seats. I heard profanity coming from the open kitchen. Food : 2/5 |
We ordered Chicken Wings and a Medium Meat Lover s Pizza . Overall the food was average nothing to rave about.
I had Zachary s cater a party for 80 people. The food and service was amazing. The chicken parm is probably the best thing we had. Very happy guests for sure.
Just tried to visit Zacharys in Milton Vermont their hours say 11:00 we went there twice and the lights are on and the people are standing there and nobody opens the door so they just lost some business if youre not going to open on time then dont advertise your hours
I love Zacharys in Milton....the employees are so friendly and the food is amazing ....I have gotten sandwiches, pasta, salads, calzones, pizza, garlic knots, and the list just keeps going....my families favorites are salads, pepperoni with extra cheese pizza, Zach special , philly cheese pizza and of course the garlic knots....but we love it so.mucj its out go to when we dont want to cook...and again the staff is so amazing....they are friendly and helpful, patient and speedy.

I bought a Cheese Calazone and it was absolutely disgusting. A calazone has ricotta cheese and mozzarella cheese and thats it. Why put sauce inside the calazone? The sauce on the other hand is not good as well. It tastes like a cheap jar of sauce. How they can call the restaurant an Italian restaurant is beyond me because the food is gross. I will never be going back again.

Always good pizza, the salads have gotten smaller, the wings have gotten smaller and more fragile, the cheese bread sticks arent what they use to be. The ranch is so well liked you can actually buy jars from them for like $7 lol. VERY disappointed they no longer deliver AND no longer offer a sampler! Will come back, but honestly, theres not much else in the area. Edit: It s been a year and a move for the restaurant. The wings have improved and are enjoyable again. The salads are only small in delivery not in house. The new environment is so refreshing and it looks awesome! The new bar area is a great addition! I look forward to see what else comes from them in the new location!
Favorite Milton restaurant! Staff is always very nice and the pizza is always fresh. I love the taste of the crust - slightly tangy and not too much dough. Favorite is the BBQ pizza. Only downside is that there are no jalapeños! Adding it fresh on top isnt the same. We the people of Milton want jalapeño pepperoni pizza!!

Parking: Never had problems finding parking. Kid-friendliness: The Kids always love dinning in more. They make up silly Pizza special. Like Peanut & Jelly pizza. Wyatt friend wasnt doing her job right
Pizza was good but the chicken Alfredo was horribly disappointing. The chicken is processed, mushy and absolutely disgusting. We spoke to the manager, no offer to comp anything was made. I rarely complain but this was unacceptable. We haven t been here in nearly 10 years and honestly, we will not return.
I remember when Friday nights were sacred pizza nights growing up. Moved to milton recently and had to try the local spot. Boy was I in for it... I ordered a large pepperoni, a go to standard trying new places, this thing was cut like stevie wonder making paper snowlflake. Thing had like 42 slices, felt like I was sharing with 14 kids at a Chuck E Cheeses. I grew up in a household where you had to finish your food. All I have to say im glad grandma isnt here to give me a back hand because my dog ate more than I did. Point is, take the ride somewhere else and save the gas money and time youll never get back. Pizza 3/10. Atmosphere 7/10
Ordered a large pizza. Openned box only to find, at best, a medium. Showed the front staff. They all said, Oh, they just didnt stretch that pizza. Talked to the owner who then tried to convince me that it was indeed a large and that it just wasnt centered in the box. Clearly he thinks that his customers are not very intelligent. Told him that I have purchased countless pizzas from the So. Burlington location and I can tell the difference between a large and a medium. He then told me that he has owned both locations for 22 yrs. and refunded me $4. Guess I purchased my last Zacharys pizza. Hello Tims pizza!
Salads are bigger if you eat in.
One of the delivery boys was very rude to me. My pizza took forever to be delivered and he had an attitude with me. Has this boy never heard the customer is always right?? I m not sure what his name was, but he was younger and brown hair. His rudeness has given me a reason to never give my business here again. I believe in karma so i hope his next pizza is cold.

Loved Zacharys pizza when I was a teen and I still do! Mexican pizza with 2x toppings is where its at. Sad to see some disappear from some places but you can still find them.

Had the spaghetti and meatballs which comes with garlic bread and salad. The salad was fresh, the meatballs were very good. The sauce is a bit acidic, but not overly so. The service was very good.
I bought a pizza at the milton Zacharys and enjoyed it so a couple days later I bought one at the williston Zacharys and it sucked big time

The pizza here was really good! Very different from normal thin crust fair, more of a thicker crust, and not drowning in sauce. The cheese reminded me a bit of classic Pizza Hut, with a lot of cheese (more cheese than sauce for sure, which I liked). The medium is pretty small, more like a personal size, so definitely go for at least the large if sharing with others. The staff working there was also super nice and were cool about double-cutting the large pizza (since we were with young kids). We would definitely order from here again next time were in the area.

My son and I each enjoyed our delicious calzones. He had just pepperoni, and I had spinach and black olives. Well definitely go back, and 100% recommend it. There were enough leftovers for us to enjoy for dinner.

Order a take out yesterday for a calzone and salad with tuna. The salad was great. The calzone was half cooked. My husband only was able to eat less then half. Usually the food is fine.

Very nice little restaurant. Great pizza and the best service ever. Bill who checked us out is a pleasure to deal with. Parking: Huge parking lot with more parking out back if needed. Kid-friendliness: Have always brought the kids with us after a day at the beach. Not only are they welcome but the hostess is very friendly with them.

Ordered a calzone from them. It was missing ricotta cheese so I called to let them know. The woman who answered the phone argued with me and told me that there was ricotta cheese in it and then hung up on me. Will NEVER order from this place again.
We decided to eat at Zacharys in Milton, since i havent been here in a while and its by far my top 3 pizza place in the region. This place is the most consistent with there recipes and it tastes amazing. I rate it 4 stars because its not my favorite of all.

Didnt realize they toast ALL grinders. Even ones with lettuce. Make sure to ask for it not toasted or youll have a very sad soggy sandwich.
Zacharys has always been one of my favorite places for hot subs. One of the few who will or can make a toasted BLT. However I just had the worst example of a BLT sandwich I have ever seen, from both a visual and taste experience. There was no mayo, no lettuce and barely some tomato. There was an appropriate amount of bacon. If only I could post a pic here. This is second time I have had this BLT be disappointing to me as I thought the one I had last month must have been a fluke. Not willing to try a third time

Disappointing this time around. We previously ordered a pizza pie with mushrooms and it was awesome enough to go back. Unfortunately, the second time around it was all cheese and barely any sauce or mushrooms. Very disappointing since it is the only one in the neighborhood.

Literally can never get my orders right! An the sad part is I always order salads. The last and final time I ordered from them they drenched my salad with teriyaki sauce after I asked them to just lightly toss the chicken in the sauce then put the chicken on my salad. They poured the entire bowl of sauce they tossed the chicken in on my salad. So needless to say it went in the trash!

Do Not Order Delivery!!!!!!! They tell you 45 minutes out takes over 2 hours!!!!! It aint worth it if you live in Milton!! Do yourself a favor get dominoes. Not as good but at least itll be hot
We placed an order tonight for a sampler and two subs. We were never asked about what size sampler so they assumed large and tried charging us for it. When my husband asked them to take it off our order they split the physical order in half and before my husband was even out the door they were asking if anyone wanted a free sampler (what they had pulled out of our order). Why not just give it to us? By the way the wings are spicy so being a nursing mom I couldn t eat them anyway. When he got home we opened our subs only to find they were both completely wrong, both had cheese when we asked for no cheese and they both had the works which they weren t supposed to. They offered to remake them but they were wrong again. For the high prices and poor service (They were very rude) we will never bring our business here again.

I have been to Zacharys in Burlington many times and had great experiences, but tonight We decided to try the one in Milton, because its 20 minutes closer, never again, cashier was great, but that was the only good experience there, they screwed up my order, so in addition to having to wait an hour for pick up, I had to wait another 20 minutes for them to get the order right. The calzone I ordered the dough was not cooked, no ricotta cheese in it at all, and i ordered with extra ricotta, mozzarella cheese was not even melted inside, and the sauce was very bitter. there was a few other mistakes with the other foods we ordered to.
Pretty consistent Greek style. Little pricier than an average pizza but better quality for sure.
Recently been very disappointed with zacharys milton location. For the second time in a week our order has been wrong or missing items. The first time, we received someone elses order and when I called to let them know, it took over 20 minutes to get it corrected. We live less than a mile from the restuarant. No offer of anything was made for their mistake. Today, our order was missing items. I do not have the energy to call again and wait another 20 minutes for the rest of my meal while what was delivered gets cold. Just disappointed with the service. Will be rethinking my choice of restaurant for our next take out order.

We went at Zacharys Pizza during our visit to Ben and Jerrys factory. Very nice and cozy place. Service was absolutely lovely and ambiance was quite and exceptionally clean. I got an individual sized pizza which I regretted later for not ordering bit bigger size which might have done a justice to my taste buds. Its a great place to visit with family and friends. My first choice when I am visiting Vermont next time. Definitely recommended, please try it out!
Zacharys is a local hot spot! Great food, amazing atmosphere with even better service! The salads are massive packed with fresh veggies and tons of protein. All the Italian dishes are wicked authentic and really hit the spot after a bad day at work. Would recommend to anyone.

My husband ordered spaghetti and meatballs for delivery in Milton. No meatballs. Last week I ordered chicken parm without cheese. Got cheese. Description said baked chicken, got some weird frozen breaded chicken.

The Duxbury location is 100 times better. Got a RB grinder, asked it not to be toasted.. it was toasted and the prepper literally crushed the sandwich wrapping it to a point the sandwich was paste. They also dont know how to make/rise dough. Before ordering pizza my bro in law commented on this.. i decided to get it anyways and he was 100 percent right. You can tell they dont make the dough right and it doesnt rise properly.
The worst pizza in the entire state !! Who s stupid idea was it to use grounded up mushrooms??!! They look and taste like coffee grounds....
